It’s been 5 months since the termination. The father broke up with me (28F) at the end of February stating he couldn’t do this and he couldn’t make up his mind about me - one day he was happy, missing me and buying me a gift and then the next he’d not want anything to do with me. By mid April, he started adding and following the newly started pretty, single, 21 year old coworkers that I’m the boss of. He’s a 30 year old Dr. I ended up deleting him so I didn’t have to see what he was doing online, and I got blocked on every platform shortly after (cause I checked in a moment of weakness).
This whole situation has just completely and utterly destroyed me. I want to quit my job because of this. My job, that I have spent years studying to do and loved. I sit there and compare myself with these younger girls and how much better they are than me. I just don’t feel like me anymore. I hate myself, I cry most days. I feel like I did the abortion to appease him and I still got discarded. I’ve gone overseas, I see my therapist fortnightly, I’ve adjusted my meds. I’ve tried sitting in the pain, trying to let myself grieve. I just don’t want to be in anymore pain.

People getting kicked, killed by unexperienced divers who went to levels that are far beyond their power level. I totally can understand that anger and frustration,. I played LoL and other toxic online games long enough to start genuelly HATE randoms in my party. So, Ive made up some rules for times when having random people in your squad/party is inevitable:
- Check if things can be done solo. Is there a way to complete missions alone? Private lobbies? If yes, do them. "But I dont want to go alone!" - ok. Grab some friends that can be stackde together by playstyles and go together. You know this people, you know what to expect and how to explain. If you dont have friends - make some. You are in the damned subreddit for the game, make a post! E.g. "Hello my name is Barry, I like go to 9th level, go stealth, do objectives as a one/separate and do things at the same time, no samples/secondaries or gather all till time is up". Its not that hard!
- If you are emded up with a random people and you are a host, assume that they will fuck up. There is no "butts" no "what if". This person here is going to make your life miserable. It is not their intented actions but it will be a result. However, that doesnt mean you need to yell at them how much they f*ck up and stuff, Just assume that it is another gun that will shoot some bots/bugs here and there, it will draw attention from you. Maybe it is a good gun and he will carry. Good for you. If they are useless... still, they are drawning attention from you. You either accept this as a rule of the world or you go solo. Save the pain for yourself and someone else.
- If possible, TELL them what your playstyle is. Before mission started. Communication is important and if you silently go and prepare for stealth while they are gearing out for all in assault - tell them about your plan. Maybe they will leave, maybe they will try to play it by your notes. Either way, you are already not suffering from machine gun above your ear when you are all covered in dirt crawling from drop pod to mission site. This applies if you are playing with friends too. E.g. I have 3 friend groups. One of them prefers goofing around on levels 5-7, collecting stuff, using stupid strats, not minding friendly fire. Second, stealth boyz. Max stealth armor, marksman rifles, crawling here and there metal gear style, calling shots and executing as if we were some special task force (even more special than divers themselves), usually on 7th level. And there is "tryhards" who just cannot shut up about what armor is better, why you should go with that stratagems etc. They cant play with each other, they will just rant about each other untill miission ends.. helldive only, other levels are for pussies.
- Become random yourself! You dont need to host a game. Take the risk of being kicked and try to be if not good at least be OKAY. Do your part. Try to understand what host is trying to do. It is them who is in charge now, you just need to follow the lead and not fuck up.

Hi, this is gonna be a bit long, but let me explain the entire situation so far: Going back about a year or so, I started noticing an elevated heart rate above what I usually would have. I have an apple watch that allows me to check my heart rate, and around this time I started to get notifications that my heart rate was above average (in the 120s to 130s range while resting as opposed to my normal 60-80 range). This happened a few times along with some very minor chest pain / tightness, however after laying down for a few hours / going to bed it would usually return to normal. Around the same time I got diagnosed with anxiety and ADHD and placed on an SSRI to help my anxiety after trying ADHD meds and not liking them. I never really had any incidents with high heart rate after that, so I had assumed it was just anxiety causing it (and that may still be the case). A few months went by and I ended up starting college and got myself a girlfriend. As I ended up finding out, SSRIs, while great, have the unfortunate side effect of erectile dysfunction, so I weaned off my meds so I could prioritize my love life. There were a few incidents after this where my heart rate was above average, but again I just chalked this up to anxiety, as it would usually go away on its own. At one point I went into my on campus doctor's office just to verify my heart was okay after an elevated heart rate the night before, and they gave me an EKG which came up clear. Months go by, and things are fine, besides a slight uptick in anxiety. Unfortunately however, my relationship began to crumble and my anxiety skyrocketed, and we eventually broke up, which led me to talking to my doctor and getting placed back on anxiety medication. However, I really didn't like how SSRI's impacted my libido, so after trying a few more SSRI's I was placed on Buspirone. I love Buspirone, and it's made a noticeable difference on my confidence / reducing anxiety. When I take my full dose at once (30 mg), I tend to get a bit dizzy / nauseous, however when split up into 10 mg taken at breakfast lunch and dinner I have no noticeable side effects. I will say (and I don't know if this is in any way important but I'm just naming everything possible), I have noticed that since stopping the SSRIs and starting Buspirone I tend to ejaculate VERY fast which is abnormal for me, and although I would like to fix that it is not my main concern. Moving on though, after about a month or two after being placed on Buspirone, we get to where my heart problems start. As someone who had never used any substances my entire life, leaving home and going to college gave me the freedom to try new things, and although I know it's not great, on weekends me and my friends will get together and drink or occasionally smoke weed / take an edible. I was worried at first about interactions with my medication, but after some research all anything online could tell me was that I may get drunk faster / more nauseous and dizzy, which wasn't too big of a deal for me. I had tried weed earlier in college and didn't like the way it made me feel, however after being placed on Buspirone I decided to try it again and actually enjoyed the feeling, so I started doing it more on the weekends as opposed to just drinking, which leads us to the incident. Me and some friends had just sat down to watch a movie, and all taken an edible. Time passed, and I started to notice that my heart rate was extremely elevated, way more than I was usually used to. I checked my heart rate, and found that my watch was displaying an average of 160 bpm. At first I thought I was just having a bad high and tried to calm myself. I laid on the floor and put some ice on my forehead, but nothing was helping. I checked my heart rate again and saw that my watch was displaying 190, which really freaked me out as that was way higher than I had ever seen before. I had my sober friend call Public Safety for me, and they came to my dorm room and did a basic check up on me. They said that I had a fever, and when they took my heart rate they got something in the 160s range. Their explanation was that my anxiety, when combined with being high and likely being sick made my heart rate elevated, which made sense at the time. I went into my college's health services to follow up the next day since my heart rate was still elevated (in the 120s-130s range), however they again told me it was probably just anxiety. A few days went by and my heart rate was STILL above average, so I decided to double check with my real doctor off campus. About a day before this I had also stopped taking my medication to see if it could be the cause for my elevated heart rate. The doctors took my vitals and immediately noticed that had very high blood pressure and an elevated heart rate, to the point where they sent in a second doctor to recheck my vitals and make sure it was correct. After talking to me and having me give a run down of my symptoms, they had me schedule an appointment with a cardiologist and told me that if I ever experience chest pain and a heart rate above 100 bpm that wouldn't go down to go to the hospital. I had also told them about how I stopped taking my medication and they told me that that was fine and to tell the cardiologist about it. About a week passes, and I have my cardiologist appointment in a few days. I had been up the night before working on my final exams, so I hadn't gotten much sleep, and besides a breakfast sandwich that I had for lunch I hadn't eaten much either. I had been experiencing chest pain all day, but I assumed it was being caused by my lack of sleep, so after classes I went and took a nap. After a few hours I woke up, and immediately noticed that I still had chest pain. I checked my apple watch, and my heart rate was displaying roughly 90-110 bpm while laying down, which on top of the chest pain made me worried since my doctor had told me that that was cause to go to the hospital. I called my parents to tell them about it, and they drove to the school and had me sit in the car and eat some food they had made to see if it would help at all. However, even after this, my heart rate was still above 100 bpm and I still had chest pain, so my mom made the call to bring me to the hospital. While on the way to the hospital, out of nowhere my heart rate increased to about 170-180 bpm, which freaked me out. We arrived at the hospital, and they immediately gave me an EKG to make sure I wasn't going to drop dead. During this time, I also was shaking a lot and couldn't make myself stop. Eventually they took me into a room and decided to run some tests on me. The tests they did are as follows: BASIC METABOLIC PANEL, CBC WITH DIFF, TROPONIN NH, D DIMER DEEP VEIN THROMB LEVEL, TSH REFLEX, X-RAY CHEST PA AND LATERAL, and ECG-12 LEAD. While I'm not a doctor, from what they told me and from what I can see, everything turned up pretty normal. My potassium was a smidge low, as well as my MCV and MPV, and my Monocyte (absolute) was a tad high, but generally nothing to worry about. The website where I'm viewing my test results display my ECG as abnormal and an attached document says I have left atrial enlargement as well as sinus tachycardia, but they only mentioned sinus tachycardia in the hospital so I assume that it was just the machine reading my test results and giving its own diagnosis. Long story short though, I left the hospital a few hours later, and although I still had a slightly elevated heart rate they said I was fine to go about life normally and to follow up with my cardiologist. Cut to the present, and I just met with my cardiologist a couple days ago. I gave him the general rundown of the above story (but didn't mention the edible as a precursor to the 190 bpm heartrate as my mom was in the next room over and the door was wide open), and after checking my vitals he told me that although I did have an elevated heart rate and high blood pressure, my chest pain probably wasn't a huge concern and that he wasn't too worried it was anything life threatening. He told me I could resume taking my meds (which I had temporarily replaced with ashwagandha supplements while I waited for the appointment and have since stopped taking), and had me wear a little device that monitored my heart rate for 24 hours, which I'm set to return in a couple days. He also told me that when I returned it he would check my results and give me an echocardiogram and go from there. So, with any luck, he should be able to figure things out then. However, I wanted to post this to see if anyone could help me get any ideas on what it could be that I could run by him to help speed things up. I also have a recent theory of my own that I want to hear advice on. I was doing research and discovered that Buspirone, when taken with other medication that increases serotonin, can cause serotonin syndrome. After another google search, I found out that weed can increase serotonin levels. The only hole in that theory is that I stopped taking Buspirone after the initial spike in heart rate / blood pressure but had no noticeable changes. Hello, I couldn't find anything online about this issue so I'm posting it here.
CSP was getting pretty laggy while I was working on my current project, and most online posts about this lag said to uninstall and reinstall. I forgot to check which version I was currently on, but the version I reinstalled is 2.0.6.
ETA: I was on version 2.0.6 before uninstalling and reinstalling.
When it came time to export my project as a .jpg image, it took a long while to render and came out with an absurdly large file size, and after poking around I found that the exported image had, for some reason, way bigger dimensions than the canvas I worked on. I usually use 6400 x 6400 or 6400 x 4800 for my projects; this particular one was 6400 x 6400. The exported image was 26667 x 26667. A nearly 400% increase in size for no particular reason.
Fiddling with the export settings didn't get me anywhere, as all the exported images came out with those same huge dimensions. The workaround solution I found was to save the project as a .psd (which also had the inflated dimensions) and to resize it in Photoshop back to 6400 x 6400. CSP still said that the canvas was the 6400 x 6400 size it was supposed to be throughout all of this, despite the exported images being gigantic.
To test a little further, I did the following:
-Opened an older project that I created before the reinstallment and attempted to export that as a .jpg. It came out the correct file size of 6400 x 6400.
-Created a new 6400 x 6400 project, scribbled on it, then exported as a .jpg. It came out the inflated size of 26667 x 26667.
-Created a new 6400 x 4800 project, did the same thing. It came out at a size of 26667 x 20000.
-Exported the current project I was working on as a .png and a .bmp as well. Both had the 26667 x 26667 dimensions.
I'm fairly certain the reinstallment is the cause but I'm not sure why, as I've never had this problem previously. Any help or guidance on how to fix whatever I messed up would be appreciated.

Here’s some background information to help you guys assess the situation, I am a 60 year old woman, and this is a relatively new problem with my on and off again boyfriend for the past 13 years. It’s been a rollercoaster we’ve lived with eachother for multiple years and we’ve also broken up three times over the 13 years, the most recent breakup was my decision two years prior to this, and guy (we will name my boyfriend guy) took the break up very hard. We recently about 6 months ago started talking again and got back together, the sex that we’ve had now has been tremendously better than ever before it’s easily the best I’ve ever had, he performs differently it’s like he’s a whole different man in bed.
He recently got a new job a year ago and who else but his ex wife to work there as well! Him and his ex wife ended on bad terms 20 years ago and hadn’t spoken since, but when they saw each other at work they kinda became friends again. Anyways during sometime between the last time we broke up and since we got back together now, he had moved in with his ex wife because he had to leave where he was living at before. I later learned from guy that ex wanted to rekindle relationship, but allegedly guy had no interest and denied such offer.
He finally moved out from his ex a few months ago to his own home that he shares with roommates. It was weird to me once we got back together I had basically let everyone I know aware that we were back together but guy didn’t want to tell any of his family or friends or even his ex wife that has been blowing him up all the time.
He can’t really give me a reason why he hasn’t told anyone his response is “I don’t know” so that got me feeling a type of way, and I couldn’t but help go on his phone one night while he was asleep. Now he told me previously that he goes on porn sites (like every guy) which I have no problem with, what I have a problem with is this isn’t just porn it’s online dating sites and webcams that talk directly to the girls, I told him how uncomfortable this made me feel and he promised he would stop doing it immediately, some more background info, guy and my son have always been very close and kept contact thru all, and son let me know that since last break up guy had spent about $5k on dating sites (the shady ones that were probably fake) chatting with the girls.
Anyways after our talk about how he would stop, in short he didn’t, he would claim he keeps just getting notifications and doesn’t know how to make them go away so he would click it trying to delete it and couldn’t figure out how. Now I’ll give it to him at the time that sounded reasonable and I beleived him, I tried to delete them myself then from his phone, and I did but somehow the sites kept popping up in his history whenever I checked his phone. He again said they were just notifications but shoutout to google it clearly says what he typed in the search bar and then the links he clicked after typing.
At this point he just went irate and I think it’s cause he ran out of excuses and he just completely lashed out and went berserk, he began telling me this was all my problem and that I was the crazy one, every time this argument would come up (all the time) he would tell me it’s not his doing it viruses or notifications popping up , and always promises to me it’s not him going on the sites he’s just trying to get rid of them, but after every argument the sites kept popping up in his recent history, my instincts have been telling me this whole time that he is trying to establish a relationship (‘s) and is just using me in the meantime until something better comes along.
Sorry for writing a whole book but any input would be seriously appreciated! Thank you!!
Edit : I forgot to add, eventually my son stepped in and looked at guys phone, and completely wiped it of all the things ‘popping up’ and assured me that if anything else comes up it’s not a virus or just notifications it’s guy deliberately searching for it. So I’m fairly new to the game (I played on iOS—which I know isn’t exactly the same but still), been playing since 4/1 of this year. I’ve advanced far enough that I’ve upgraded Residential Services, built Nook’s Cranny, moved in the initial three villagers, and upgraded my house five times.
I say all that to show that while I’m still fresh—and have so so so much further to go before I’m even getting stars, let alone five of them (which I’m not sure is my objective, but I digress), and having this immaculate island—I’m starting to get a little frustrated ? by my plateau in progress.
One of my main goals since I unlocked it has been filling my museum with all the creatures possible. I spend hours diving for sea creatures only to find the same things I’ve already discovered; which I know a lot of them are seasonal, so it will take time, it’s just discouraging. I come during all hours of the day and never find any new bugs. I endure wasp sting after wasp sting (bc I’m crap at netting them bc anxiety 💀) hoping to shake a new bug out of trees and no luck.
I know one way to acquiring some of the things I’m looking for (fruits, flowers, etc.) is nook miles tickets so I do my tasks for miles and build up a good amount of miles and invest hella of them (like 25,000+ at this point, for the sole purpose of finding aforementioned items) just to get the same fruit (apples, my native fruit ofc lol; and I’ve gotten cherries twice that I’ve noticed), fossils I’ve already found; hell, even the same fish.
I also know that you can travel to other peoples’ island to get stuff that way, but I feel like a cheater and like I’m not doing the work everyone else has put in to make their islands extravagant and amazing (I almost had an aneurysm when I saw people having giveaways and having their own lil events bc hoooooowww). And if it requires online to do that, I don’t have that yet bc it can’t fit in my budget, as cheap as it is. Or if it requires me to open my island, I’m not ready to do that (if I even can bc idk it if requires online).
It’s all very disheartening and it’s hard to stay motivated to keep playing for any reason other than getting my daily ABD check in and to to check what’s for sale at Nooks and Able Sisters’ (which makes me spend bells I should be saving for upgrades and such). I guess I need advice on how to stay entertained without getting burnout bc I don’t wanna stop playing bc I’m not bored just yet and I also don’t wanna leave so long I have to come back to do major clean up/lose villagers.

Sometimes it's the little things that make me realize how... slightly different my upbringing was... in comparison to people who grew up with healthy siblings. For me, it was nostalgic school pizza.
I ate school lunch every day. Packing? Lol, no. My husband? He told me tonight that he never, like as in never ever, ate school lunch. His mom packed for him every single day - he got special sandwiches and casseroles and even sushi once or twice. Therefore, he has no nostalgia for school pizza, whereas I do, and I am about to spend $50 on some brand of pizza that apparently tastes just like it.
My husband was raised differently than me. He was raised by upper middle class parents, including his mom being SAHM for his entire life, and he and his sibling were both healthy their entire lives. My parents both worked in law enforcement/social work adjacent jobs, both working nights sometimes, and they had city and nonprofit pay, aka we were probably lower middle class. I also had an extremely ill sibling for the duration of middle school and the first year of high school.
As a child, my husband was never left alone. He didn't stay home alone until he was 14. He never had to stay alone for days and weeks like I did. We lived in a rural area too, so I was far from town and couldn't go anywhere. While my sibling was hospitalized two hours away or at various appointments, they'd come home late at night most days. There were weeks in the summer where they were home maybe 6 hours a week and I was alone with neighbors and my aunt checking in every other day. Sometimes they sent me to day camp in the summer and I'd be the last one picked up. I always went to day camp because I suspect overnight camp cost too much - my sibling's illness was expensive. If I wasn't at day camp, I was alone all the time during summer and after school. This lasted four years.
Honestly, it wasn't that bad at the time. I felt like it was my house and I walked the dogs and stayed up late and ate frozen foods and went swimming in our above ground pool. I had two close friends in the neighborhood and I'd spend time with them when I could. I got a job when I was 15 and my friend's mom picked me up and drove me back and forth from work until I got my license. I was online A LOT and was in chat rooms and meeting randos on message boards as young as 12. I even got into web design and taught myself a few basic programming languages. Honestly, I was kind of raised by the Internet
I also ate school lunch every day. I know how to poke a milk bag perfectly. I am constantly nostalgic for the nuggets, pizza, and Bosco sticks of my middle and high school cafeterias. My parents would give me money at the beginning of the week and I'd map my school lunch plan out. Lunch was the highlight of my day for awhile. I ate a lot of Bosco sticks. My school also had a vending machine, so I drank lots of Dr. Pepper too. I honestly got pretty fat. Until I wasn't, because somehow (the Internet), I calculated the calories of everything at my school cafeteria, and then only nutrigrain bars and an apple were safe. I ate Bosco sticks at least weekly though - I craved them even when I was starving myself. I just didn't usually keep them down and I'll leave it at that.
School pizza though. School pizza isn't tainted like Bosco sticks. It was different pizza every week in high school so I never knew the calories. Thus I didn't eat it after first semester of high school. Even after I was "recovering" and my sibling got better, meaning suddenly I wasn't being raised by the Internet anymore, I avoided school pizza. The memories I have are from 2000 and pizza day at my elementary school stands as a consistently pleasant memory. I make pizzas now. Good pizzas. I love pizza. I've made it for my husband, parents, and sibling.

 | I did not entirely intend to end up this deep down a rabbit hole, but here we are!The other night after reading the wonderful The Eras Tour Follies post-GO READ THAT POST, everything in there relates to ALL of this as Loie Fuller was a modernist choreographer and so her art relates strongly to everything I will be discussing. Pretty much everything I present here emphasizes the idea that Taylor is leaning into a very specific type of performance art. Anyway, after reading that, facebook suggested to me a post from a page with follies in the name and between that and the line “my swift imagination”, my attention was captured. From the post-“‘You shall not prison, shall not grammarise / my swift imagination.’ So declares a poem Nancy Cunard wrote in 1919, at the age of twenty-three. The speaker of “In Answer to a Reproof” casts herself as “the perfect stranger / outcast and outlaw from the rules of life”. Conveying something of Cunard’s defiance of social norms, the poem seems to prophesy her later cutting of ties to both her mother and her country. I haven’t read it all (yet), but to start with I’d direct you towards the poems “Outlaws”, “Monkery” and “The Love Story”, but when I read the opening lines to “In Answer to a Reproof” my jaw DROPPED. “Let my impatience guide you now, I feel You have not known that glorious discontent That leads me on : the wandering after dreams And the long chasing in the labyrinth Of fancy, and the reckless flight of moods — You shall not prison, shall not grammarise My swift imagination, nor tie down My laughing words, my serious words, old thoughts I may have led you on with, baffling you Into a pompous state of great confusion.” “The long chasing in the labyrinth” “shall not grammarise my swift imagination” (grammarise or gramarize can mean to analyze or describe), are both lines and ideas resonate a lot with what we know about Taylor and her work. The poem is saying, "you will not hold me to these interpretations you have of me, even if I was the one using my words to lead you on and confuse you.” “...I have concluded we are justified Each in his scheming ; is this not a world Proportioned large enough for enemies Of our calibre ? Shall we always meet In endless conflict ? I have realised That I shall burn in my own hell alone And solitarily escape from death” The burning imagery, the implications of a deep emotional rift between enemies who might be lovers? This poem, and honestly a lot of her others, have that sort of vibe. This part is justifying the need of enemies in the world and bringing attention to the role of destiny in the fate of two such adversaries. The poem text is available the collected poems I linked above, there is also this handwritten original from Yale’s archives on Nancy Cunard (had to go to the original to figure out what word she was using for solitarily because the formatting was so wonky on the other, lol) Let’s move on to Parallax! As mentioned above, the poem was originally published by Virgina Woolf’s literary press. It is a long form poem based on the The Waste Land, also a long form poem by T. S. Eliot. This is from the wiki page on The Waste Land- “widely regarded as one of the most important English-language poems of the 20th century and a central work of modernist poetry…The Waste Land does not follow a single narrative or feature a consistent style or structure. The poem shifts between voices of satire and prophecy, and features abrupt and unannounced changes of narrator, location and time, conjuring a vast and dissonant range of cultures and literatures.” These ideas are all VERY important in modernism. And modernism is VERY relevant to the idea of what Taylor does, but ESPECIALLY what she is currently doing with TTPD. Modernism was about rejecting the old ideas of things, and trying to rebuild, especially in the aftermath of WW1. Artists,writers, and musicians strongly embraced the idea of the visibility of the artist in their work. They no longer felt compelled to uphold the status quo and traditional methods (of poetry, of painting, of music, of literature, of architecture), they experimented with forms and processes that would be visible to the viewer in ways that had not been common or fashionable in the art world in the past. Stream of consciousness writing, unreliable narrators, and multiple points of views were new things being explored, especially in writing (A Room of One’s Own by Virgina Woolf being a great and relevant example of this, also go check out the first edition cover-Midnights much…). The artists wanted to invite deeper thought about what was being said and by whom.The way modernism referenced the past was also very relevant. Modernism was known for creating entirely new interpretations of traditional works. Rewriting traditional narratives, creating parodies, satire, incorporating aspects from many other sources and being referential to those sources (the idea of artistic collages, and incorporating old media into new works was being heavily explored). The definition of Parallax is “the apparent displacement or the difference in apparent direction of an object as seen from two different points not on a straight line with the object”especially : the angular difference in direction of a celestial body as measured from two points on the earth's orbit.” Okay so I honestly have a hard time wrapping my head around this, but…put your finger in front of your eyes, look beyond your finger, and then alternate closing one eye at a time. The way your finger appears to jump? That is an example of parallax. The closer an object is, the more drastically it appears to move when observed from different places. The further the object, the less it moves. (I find it interesting that Taylor’s shows have been speeding up and going faster? Almost like as she gets closer to…whatever she’s heading towards, the faster, the more drastic the change?) For a couple years, Nancy had a relationship with a man named Lois Aragon. I found this research paper about Aragon’s personal interest in fairy tales and in the author Lewis Carol. Cunard was instrumental in assisting Aragon to create a printed French translation of the Lewis Carol nonsense poem The Hunting of the Snark. The paper includes this bit, (part of?) a poem Aragon wrote for Cunard during their first trip together-to London. All of this suggests to me that TTPD has been HIGHLY HIGHLY staged and planned and executed in ways which seem to encompass all of the ideas of modernism, while making reference to modernists and their work (Louie Fuller, Virginia Woolf). She is using herself and her life, as well as them and their works, as the references for the writing. Leaning into the unreliability of her narration, the parody, and the multiple points of views from switching narrators. And that concludes my post on...introducing Nancy Cunard as a highly probable (in my opinion anyway) inspiration for Taylor's work and life, as well as giving even more context and understanding to what we already knew-she's performing. Hello. I went to a garage sale today, and I was shocked to see my deceased brothers ex gf and his son at their garage sale. For background, my brother passed away about 8 years ago from an overdose. He had a son who we knew as a child and his ex gf was very involved in my life growing up. My brother wasn’t really involved in his son’s life. My brothers sons mom remarried and my nephew has grown up in a stable family, better than my brother could’ve given him. I bought a dress, and my brothers ex and I exchanged ed some words about the dress I bought while paying but she seemed to know who I was. I was I was shaking and tried not to make eye contact, I was so shocked I didn’t know what to do. She was happy. My mom said that there’s no way she didn’t know who I was since she was so involved in my life for awhile. I wish I had said something else, but what was I going to say?! “Do you remember me?! You’re son’s biological fathers little sister?!” It wasn’t the place or time. She could’ve hid or been cold, but she wasn’t. She has a bow business and we discussed her FB page, her mom told me to check it out! I want to support her, as I have nothing against her, however idk if it’s a good idea or if I’ll scare her away. She didn’t seem to be scared or mad, but glad. And so was I. It was bittersweet for sure. I don’t think I want my nephew to know who I am, he was adopted by his mom’s husband and I respect that. 2024.05.19 05:35 Sea-Box2932 Tmi water breaking during sex?
This is major tmi but ill sum it up to spare details regarding anything relating to sex itself. So last night/technically this morning me and my partner ended up having sex. For context im 37 weeks today and since 35 weeks i was first sent into the ob triage for being dilated at one of my appointments from my dr. I had to go back a week later due to contractions which was found on both occasions i went in. I was told i was a "loose 1cm dilated and 60% effaced. " i was never told not to have sex or to avoid intercourse either times i went. So last night we finally felt comfortable enough to try. I was having pains a few hours before it that are worse when standing/ moving. Closest thing i could find online was spd for example of how to describe how it felt? Well when we had sex i got on top and it was way more wet than usual, barely after we started my partner told me his whole back was soaked and i was confused i asked if he wanted to stop and he said no, we tried to keep going but it kept getting worse and worse it felt like someone threw an entire bucket of water onto the bed. We stopped and checked consistency, it was different than my usual discharge or wetness during sex which is semi thicker and slippery. This was pure water texture and had no sort of glide to it. We checked the wet spots on the bed(our sheets are white) and there was no colored tint or smell to it. So we stopped. I peed after and checked to make sure no blood or anything, my bladder was completely full still and when i peed it was pretty yellow. Whatever was on the bed definitely wasnt urine. I felt normal for the most part, no contractions during this and so we just went back to bed after cleaning it up. Today all day ive been having that pelvic pain again but its WAY worse. I can barely walk im waddling and moving very slow, when i bend a leg it hurts so bad i have to use my arm to lift my legs and even then im cringing in pain. When i stand my legs tremble and almost feel like they're going to give out. I brushed it off but as the day progressed it got worse and worse. Its now 11:35pm and the "water breaking" incident occurred around 6am. I fell back asleep and woke up at around 12:45-1pm and thats when i noticed it first but it was really minimal. Started getting really bad around 6pm-8pm today. Im scared to go in because im not leaking fluid, theres nothing for the hospital to test for amniotic fluid. I dont notice contractions so i doubt any would be picked up rn. i had a past c-section with my first baby and this one is a recurrent c-section which i have an appointment for on june 3rd. They told me before if i come back in after eating they'd have to delay a c-section and wait until my stomach is empty as well so im scared of going in and just being held there when i could rest it out at home. I plan on going tomorrow after i first wake up so that way my stomach is empty incase they decide to have baby now. But any advice would be great, i will go in tonight if anything seems more urgent or gets worse. Any similar stories would also be nice along with outcomes. Im very conflicted on how to be handling this situation

I really want to speak to someone about renting. I have been trying to relocate to Colorado (either Denvesurrounding area or Colorado Springs area) due to family needing more help (before you ask why i dont live with them, it is very complicated). Either city would afford the opportunity to see them and help more. I am on the East Coast currently and feel like I am hitting walls. I generally need to talk to people to understand how to get things done. I don't do well with research and honestly having to try to look online for a home to rent has been hair pulling.
I would be moving with my fiancé and his father. His father would only really be "living with us" when he isn't on the road for his job. He is barely home as is and probably would be here a total of 3 months out of the year and that is mainly around the holiday times when his work slows down. He has had some credit issues but as far as I am aware once he resolved them he just decided to stick to using cash for everything in life. No idea about his credit score.
I work currently and plan to take some time to earn a certificate to boost my earnings after we get settled, but currently I am the one who pays for most of everything. My fiance is unemployed currently.
I might have credit? I had a car loan when I was 19 (paid by 23) and haven't done much since for my credit at 28. I tried experian to try to get my score but it says no history, however credit karma likes to think i have 650. When I was applying through Zillow the background check thing said I had 630. I have no idea what the fuck i have.
My fiance hasn't ever had a car loan or credit card. He pays his cellphone bill but idk if that accumulates credit? We both pay for car insurance together which I know doesn't do dick all for your credit but it is a way to show we pay for things I guess. While he may be unemployed now, it has been a miniature blessing in our personal lives and he plans to go back to work as soon as we are moved. He wants to make sure we can be unpacked before having to spend most of his time at whatever job he might find.
My fiance and I could technically buy a house, but with the sketchy credit history between us, I'd want us to sort that out first so we could get our best mortgage rate.

I know a lot of producers have talked about unsolicited feedback in the past but this post isn't about that. It's about feedback for various projects and feedback that gets requested and given. This also applies equally to original production in many cases.
A good number of mashup producers do not tend to master or don't apply limiters on tracks, or just make them softer compared to commercial levels. When albums get mastered, loudness will usually be adjusted through various plugins (EQ, multiband compressors, limiters, clippers, etc.) to shape masters so that one track is not significantly louder or softer than another especially back-to-back and groups of tracks follow a certain sound.
What this means is that once your softer mashup of -14 or -15 LUFS or softer is amplified to commercial levels in the -7 to -11 LUFS range or more depending on genre and how the overall track should sound given peaks and valleys with softer and louder parts (LUFS stands for loudness units full scale, look that up), small issues may stand out like thorns when amplified. Bottom line: Don't take the small or big issues personally; we're all human, we all miss things, and we can all improve. You may learn something new!
Think of it like how you ask to proofread writing to check for spelling or grammar and have it work for the audience.
All this to say, feedback I give or others give based on small details may come across as nit-picks at first. Don't completely discount them. You never know who will want to play your tracks, and this could range from personal playlists all the way up to DJ gigs and big festival stages.
In the case of a club DJ or performances on festival stages, volumes will be significantly louder than what you may have worked with when you created the track. I've given the restaurant food analogy before but I'll give it again: If something clearly doesn't taste good, people won't usually know why. But an experienced chef who knows how the ingredients interact sure will.
Just something to think about as you improve on mashup production and production in general.

Big issues
- Out of key (OOK): This refers to wrong key signature (e.g. mixing A Minor with B Minor), not blue notes from modes or short moments of modulation. Key rule of thumb: If you're going to use key databases, verify by ear. Tunebat is the least accurate. If you must do so, use a reliable key database like the ones in this post. DJ software can work, but some automatic key detection performs better than others and are far from perfect. Above all, databases are not perfect and some will be far from it, so ears will be the final judge of whether a pairing sounds good.
- Out of tempo/time (OOT): this usually refers to wrong tempo (e.g. mixing a 116 BPM track with a 118 BPM track) or not constant tempo and going out of time. Key rule of thumb: Sync your tracks and if you need to use any form of warping (see Ableton), be prepared to do so.
- Too much going on (a.k.a. playing both songs at the same time): This happens when playing multiple main elements at the same time to the point where multiple elements or entire songs played together clash in key, progression, or other things to make the combination sound unpleasant and hard to listen to. Sometimes this can sound really good if the progressions are compatible, but generally, less is more.
- Incorrect/bad beat alignment: This is more for when a vocal or element is offbeat enough that it really sticks out as a trainwreck when mixed together
- Wrong beat/out of structure/off structure/bad phrasing: This is when a vocal or other element is placed on a beat that doesn't make sense for what it's combined with (e.g. placing the first word of a vocal over an instrumental on beat 2 when it was meant for beat 1). Mileage will vary, sometimes the vocal beat placement only makes sense for the original song and makes less sense on others.
- Distortion from going in the red: This is when the overall mix or elements sound distorted because the volume of each track channel is too loud and either alone or combined goes well above 0 dBFS (a.k.a. into the red). Key rule of thumb: Start your track volumes at -6 dB (not 0 dB) and then adjust to taste. Don't go into the red unless you absolutely know what you're doing.
- Elements way too soft or loud: This is more along the lines of not being able to hear the added vocals or elements at all or they're too loud that you can't hear the other elements in the mix.
- Big mood mismatch: This tends to be less egregious, but if sources don't cooperate at all to a point of completely ruining the vibe, the mashup could stick out like a sore thumb from the start. Mileage will vary, and sometimes your audience would appreciate this especially with genre clashes even to the point of creating memes. But it depends on what you're going for, and sometimes you want consistency for certain albums and groups of tracks.
Smaller issues
- Fifth traps/not picking the right keys to use: This is a specific version of another problem I'll touch on, but this happens when you mix keys fifths or fourths away (e.g. F Major and C Major) and the chord progressions don't cooperate. What makes this a trap is that the pairing might appear to sound good at first glance, but when you look back at what you made, you probably could have made a better sounding pairing if you had just picked sources in key, relative key (e.g. A Minor and C Major), or parallel to the mode type (i.e. A Minor with A Dorian since Dorian is a minor mode). This Berklee Online article is a really good starting point to modes. With modes, mileage will vary.
- Out of progression/blue notes: This can happen when there are short moments where the element clashes on top of other elements (e.g. modes or short moments of different modulation). Sometimes the tracks may not be compatible, but other times it's just a part with notes outside the scale. This can be fixed by doing small note changes, but be careful not to make it too obvious, otherwise it might sound like you're forcing the pairing to work. It may also follow the same theme as fifth traps, where you could have made a better sounding pairing if you had just picked sources in key, relative key (e.g. A Minor and C Major), or parallel to the mode type (i.e. A Minor with A Dorian since Dorian is a minor mode). This Berklee Online article is a really good starting point to modes. With modes, mileage will vary.
- Low quality sources: This happens with YouTube or other rips where the elements are lower quality due to a lower frequency cutoff (YouTube is usually 15.5 kHz for AAC, other platforms may be 15-16 kHz for 128 kbps MP3, etc.). Bottom line: Get the highest quality sources you can, and use Spek or another spectrum analysis software to check rips or record pool sources. Your ears and processing algorithms will thank you. Again, you never know who will listen to or play out your track, could even be a big sound system.
- Stem separation artifacts: This can take several different forms, but can happen when either the invert or stem separation algorithm being used adds noise or other unwanted high end artifacts like high hats that once amplified, will absolutely stand out in a mix. This also includes artifacts from stem separation algorithms like Utagoe which make vocals sound like they're underwater at default settings. Key rule of thumb: Remember that the instrumental and original could be mixed and mastered differently depending on the production environment and how masters spread. If an invert makes a vocal stand out more but just needs extra cleaning, don't be afraid to combine the invert technique (original + instrumental) with stem separation. When using multiple stem separation techniques or using different sources (like remix + remix instrumental), think about how they sound on parts of the instrumental and consider picking the best extraction for a given part; remember that this includes using the original song (this is called comping in the production world). If there are parts of vocals intended to be silent and there are artifacts, don't be afraid to replace the reverb + delay with your own. - A little too much going on: This happens in many cases when looking at megamashups, megamixes, and even simpler overlap of vocals where too many elements are competing for space at some point (e.g. two vocals at the same time competing for mono or midrange). Key rule of thumb: In production just as in life, leave elbow room! With vocals, this can be done by overlapping a lead source that's more mono (e.g. lead vocal) with a background source that's more stereo (e.g. background vocals or vocal pad). When transitioning, it's also really useful to slightly pan or automate pan and volume of the vocal you're trying to brief in, which can include repeating the first word or few words of a phrase. Volume and EQ may also be useful here to properly convey space.
- Weird time-stretch and pitch-shift artifacts: This can happen when using a lower quality time-stretch or a time-stretch that can destroy transients/drum hits (Audacity or Elastique Efficient on vocals, older Elastique Pro on full instrumentals) or pitching too much and/or with too much/little formant preserve. The best way to reduce these effects on instrumental is to think about combining stem separation with ways to improve quality (pitch everything BUT the drums unless tonal, experiment with different time stretch methods on different elements, etc.). For too much pitch or formant preserve, either pick sources that are closer in key (+/- 2 semitones is a good rule of thumb) and try to control the amount of formant preservation and/or envelope (in Ableton) to make the vocals sound more natural. Formant preserve is usually a good idea for pitched vocals, but can sound bad for pitched instrumentals especially drums depending on the track.
- Pops or clicks while editing: This tends to happen when elements like vocals are cut off when not at zero volume. Key rule of thumb: Edit to zero crossing and/or use fades to cut off regions or when combining different regions together.
- Flanging, phasing, or flamming while editing: Sometimes these effects are on purpose, but oftentimes when crossfading between different parts of an instrumental, both parts of the edit don't align on beat. Flanging and phasing applies for sample level edits (ms or more), flamming for tenths or hundredths of seconds (e.g. 0.05 sec or 0.1 sec). Flamming is a drumming term for when the same part of the drum kit (usually the snare drum) is hit twice with different sticks at close to but not exactly the same time.
- Vocals or other elements end too suddenly in an edit: You may want to get different vocals to interact with each other or edit out of artifacts from vocal stem separation, but the other vocal (or elements) sound like they were cut off. Key rule of thumb: Have a reverb effect handy, and if you're working in a DAW, take advantage of wet/dry automation and combine the reverb with delay afterwards in the effect chain for vocals and other elements so when you crank up the wet the decay helps fade out the element gracefully.
- Vocals or other elements start too suddenly or out of place when connecting them or transitioning: This also considers getting different vocals or other elements to work together or going to a new part, but refers to a new part using vocals or other elements sounding out of place at the beginning of a region in a transition. Key rule of thumb: Watch your crossfades and when you're in a pinch and want to start the next part gracefully, don't be afraid to use reverse reverb or other effect like a riser to introduce a completely new element or different part in a pinch. Reverse reverb is exactly what it sounds: Adding reverb to a short snippet of an element like a cymbal, vocal note, or pad, and then applying reverse on it. Often this is done by choosing a tonal center to transition into, choosing a small snippet to add reverb to, choosing reverb with a long decay time and big space (usually I do a Cathedral reverb), reversing it, and then carefully aligning the reverse reverb so the end of it hits the beginning of the next region. Whew that was a lot! Tutorials will do this much more justice but this is the general idea.
- Vocals too dry or too wet for the instrumental: Usually this depends on the instrumental's genre. For genres like pop or EDM, vocals tend to have some reverb applied to make them shine. For others like alternative and some classic hip-hop, the reverb might be less or no wet or a completely different type. This issue usually refers to too little reverb (too dry) or too much reverb (too wet). Key rule of thumb: Don't forget to have reverb handy. You might need it. Keep your wet low in the middle of a vocal depending on what you're trying to do (think 3-5% wet or - on the low side
- Vocals or other elements slightly too loud or soft: Self-explanatory, this is usually an issue where elements should be the right volume for elements to work well together.
- Vocals or other elements drowned out/don't gel due to hypercompression: This usually happens when using a vocal not from an EDM, hyperpop, hard rock, or other genre where there is hypercompression but no matter how much volume amount you try elements like vocals don't gel and compete for space in the mid range. Two common techniques take the form of adding more compression to a vocal to stand up to an hypercompressed instrumental and/or reducing mid band EQ of the other source (which could come from sidechaining). For the added compression, it tends to be done with either multiple compressors in series (e.g. two compressors using low threshold + high ratio and high threshold + low ratio) or through various guitar distortion plugins on settings meant for vocals (e.g. Camelcrusher with British Clean or certain presets of OTT). Don't be afraid to experiment.
- Master too loud or soft for the genre: This usually takes the form of using limiters and other effects to make certain tracks too loud for the genre intended, or not using anything at all and the track is too soft for the genre/commercial sound. This can come down to taste, but how a track was produced can affect how loud you master. Mileage will vary; listen to how loud tracks are made and emulate your favorites assuming nothing too egregious.
- Stereo issues: This can happen if there are elements out of phase when trying to combine mono and stereo or applying other effects. It's a bit more difficult to diagnose, but one rule of thumb is to test your overall track on different playback systems (from headphones to big speakers and even your phone or small bluetooth speaker which will effectively test mono depending on the device).
