Now that super ships are here and are unlikely to be going anywhere, who wants to see the Tillman IV-2 design come into the game. Vermont is currently a variation of this design which had a turret chopped off and had the displacement and speed lowered. So the Tillman IV-2 design would be Vermont with 15 18-inch guns, about 10k more hit points, and a base speed of 25.2 knots. We can call it Rhode Island.
Rhode Island wouldn't need a super ship gimmick for one simple reason: her alpha strike would clock in at 236k damage.
Other Battleships throw an 18-wheelers worth of cars at the enemy.
Vermont throws an entire GM dealerships worth of cars at the enemy
Rhode Island would throw the entire GM plants worth of fucking cars at the enemy.
That and give her the stupid nyan 127mm and 76mm aa guns Annapolis and United States get as well, that would be funny.

2018.12.16 11:30 LockeProposal STOP SHOOTING YOURSELF. STOP SHOOTING YOURSELF.

On another training flight off Oahu in January 1941, Leaming was embarrassed by a gunnery practice foul-up. As his pilot, Ensign Norm West, flew past a tow plane – another bomber rigged with a target sleeve – Leaming struggled to fire his gun when ordered. Realizing he had put the gun on “safe,” he slid the safety sleeve over. He knew that Lieutenant Earl Gallager, the VS-6 flight officer, was a stickler for doing everything right the first time, so Leaming feared asking Ensign West to make a second pass.
Instead, he aimed his machine gun in the general direction of the sleeve and pressed the trigger in desperation. Leaming lost control of his weapon in the process and three bullets ripped through their SBC’s rear stabilizer.
Ashamed and scared, he called over the intercom: “Mr. West, I think I shot three holes in the stabilizer.”
”Think, goddamnit, don’tcha know?” the pilot shouted back.
Leaming confirmed his mistake, and West radioed for immediate permission to land at the Ford Island Naval Air Station in Pearl Harbor. Back on the ground, Ensign West just looked at their damaged tail and walked away, shaking his head in disgust. Leaming felt as though he were at the bottom of the ocean. The Scouting Six executive officer, Lieutenant Ralph Dempsey Smith, chewed him out thoroughly, informing him that a new stabilizer would tax the squadron budget to the tune of three thousand dollars.
Leaming was forced to write a letter to Smith, detailing how he had made such an error. Even worse was the endless ribbing he took from fellow radiomen Joe DeLuca and tom Merritt. Fortunately for Leaming, it was only a matter of weeks before Merritt too managed to shoot up his own plane’s tail, and he would not be the last.

Pittsburgh Pitt vs. Navy Navy

O/U: 53
Bowl History
Year Founded: 2008

Stadium: Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium
Conference Tie-ins: American vs. ACC
Trophy: Trophy
Payout: $1,000,000 to each team
2014 Season Result: Virginia Tech defeated Cincinnati 33-17.
Pittsburgh Ball Pittsburgh Panthers
2015 Season Record: First-year coach Pat Narduzzi led the Panthers to an 8-4 regular season, Pitt’s best record since 2009.
Key Players This Season:
Offense:
Tyler Boyd lead the Panthers in all meaningful receiving statistics, catching a career high 85 passes for 873 yards. Boyd has also been a threat out of the backfield this year, with 294 rushing yards for an average of 8.4 yards per carry.
Qadree Ollison won the ACC offensive rookie of the year, and for good reason. Ollison stepped in for the injured star running back James Conner in the second half of Pitt’s first game and made an immediate impact, rushing for 207 yards against Youngstown state. Ollison finished the year with 1048 rushing yards.
Defense:
On the other side of the ball, Pitt has the defensive & overall ACC rookie of the year, Jordan Whitehead. Whitehead is a true freshman safety that lead the Panthers in tackles this year, anchored by a 15-tackle performance against Iowa. Whitehead also began to play on offense in the second half of the year, totaling 79 yards and two touchdowns on just 10 attempts.
Senior DE, Ejuan Price, has thrived in Pat Narduzzi’s aggressive defense. After a season-ending injury in 2014, Price reemerged with a vengeance in his senior year, leading the ACC in Sacks (12) and second only to Clemson’s Shaq Lawson in Tackles for Loss with 20. The two-time ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week will be eager to add to that total in the Military Bowl while he awaits whether or not he will be granted a sixth year of eligibility.
Biggest Plays this Season:
56 yard field goal vs Georgia Tech. Kicker Chris Blewitt hit a career long 56 yard FG with 1:26 left in the 4th quarter against Georgia Tech to take a 31-28 lead.
Fake punt vs. Syracuse. On the road against conference foe Syracuse, Pitt successfully executed a fake punt on 4th and 7 to keep their drive alive. Pitt finished the drive with a game winning field goal as time expired, Blewitt’s second game winner in as many weeks.
Season Summary: After three straight 6-6 finishes, any Panther fan will tell you that this year was definitely a step forward. Three of Pitt’s four losses were against top 10 opponents, with the closest of these losses coming against Iowa on a game-ending 57 yard field goal. One of the biggest themes during this season was Pitt’s ability to find ways to win games. This sounds obvious, but over the past few years Pitt has routinely lost games they really should have won, look no further than last year’s bowl game for proof. Pat Narduzzi and his staff have been able to transform Pitt’s defense into a formidable foe while managing to put up points despite not having 2014’s ACC Player of the Year, James Conner, at their disposal due to an MCL-tear.
Why we are going to win:
The Conner Effect:
2014 ACC Player of the Year, James Conner, was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and began his treatments in early December. A leader both on and off the field, James will be on the sidelines and the team will be highly motivated to pull out a W for Conner as he undergoes his own battle with cancer.
Run Offense vs. Run Defense:
Since arriving at Pitt, defensive guru Pat Narduzzi has improved the Panthers’ defense vastly, a huge difference from the Paul Chryst era. While the defense has gotten better, Pitt’s pass defense has been a bit problematic. Cornerbacks Avonte Maddox and Lafayette Pitts have looked downright overmatched in some games, especially against teams with tall, fast wide receivers. Fortunately, since Navy runs the triple option they aren’t exactly a pass first team. Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds passed the ball only 98 times this season, which is about a third of the attempts that Pitt QB Nate Peterman has (293). Pitt’s rush defense is 20th in the country and has experience against the triple option, playing Georgia Tech earlier in the year. One of Navy’s two losses came at the hands of the 19th ranked run defense of Houston. Houston allowed Navy to rush for only 147 yards, far below their 317 yard per game average. Houston forced Reynolds to pass a season high 16 times, while Reynolds did complete 13 of these passes he also had his lone interception on the year.
Navy Ball Navy Midshipmen
2015 Season Record:
10-2 (7-1 AAC)
Key Players this Season:
  • Keenan Reynolds QB 52-98 1077 yds 7 TDS 1 INT Passing, 21 TDs 1229 yds Rushing
  • As a freshman, Keenan Reynolds stepped in for an injured Trey Miller and engineered a fourth quarter comeback against rival Air Force. Reynolds has not relinquished the starting spot since, and has rewritten the record books in doing so. Against SMU earlier this season, Reynolds broke the record for the most career rushing touchdowns in FBS history with 78, passing Montee Ball. Recently in the Army–Navy Game, Reynolds surpassed Adrian N. Peterson's record for the most rushing touchdowns in NCAA Division I history with 85. Reynolds also holds other quarterbacking records including the most career rushing attempts and touchdowns, most rushing touchdowns and most rushing touchdowns in a game. He is also the only Navy QB to go 4–0 against Army. Reynolds finished fifth in the Heisman Trophy running, the highest by a service academy player since Navy quarterback Roger Staubach's win in 1963. Reynolds was named the AAC Offensive Player of the year, as well as a Third team AP All American for 2015. 2015 Highlights
  • Chris Swain FB 10 TDs 909 yds Rushing
  • Although Keenan Reynolds is the Navy Player who makes the headlines, Chris Swain is the engine that has driven Navy football to their 10-2 record this season. Named to the Second team All AAC for the season, Chris Swain provides Keenan Reynolds with a deadly option up the middle that teams are forced to respect. This provides openings to the outside allowing the rest of the triple option to flourish. Chris Swain is the 4th Navy Player in history to be invited to the Reese's Senior Bowl, considered the most prestigious all-star game. Has the size and speed to compete at the next level. Highlights.
  • Jamir Tillman WR 27 Rec 5 TDs 570 yds Receiving (21.1 Avg) Jamir Tillman, a Jr., is the deadliest part of the Fourth Option in the Triple Option, the forward pass. When he is not providing a key block for the rushing game, Keenan Reynolds has repeatedly found Tillman through the air. He averages 51.8 rec yds/game and has had gone over 100 twice (On a run heavy team).
Biggest Plays this Season: Keenan Reynolds 75 yd Pass to DeBrandon Sanders to give Navy the lead for good vs then #15 Memphis : On the Opening Play of the drive, Navy goes deep and Debrandon Sanders takes it in for a TD. Navy would never look back and went on to beat #15 Memphis 45-20. Keenan Reynolds 50 yd Pass to Jamir Tillman to secure the lead vs Army: With both sides struggling to score, Jamir Tillman's 50 yd TD sealed the win for Navy. 14 wins in a row against our Arch Rivals.
Season Summary:
  • Navy Football has been independent since it's creation in 1896, until this season. Despite an early season setback with a loss to ND, Navy went on to win it's first 7 conference games (including a win over then #15 Memphis) before finally losing to Houston in what was informally seen as the AAC championship semi-finals. Navy also defeated Army for the fourteenth year in a row ('14!) to cap off it's regular season. Navy is looking to win 11 games for the first time in our programs 123-year history.
  • Most importantly, Navy is commissioning 15 2nd Lieutenants into the USMC and 17 Ensigns into the USN.
Why we are going to win:
  • Navy is fortunate enough to be playing at home, and a senior laden team that is playing their final football game at home will be tough to beat. Navy is disciplined, and it shows. Navy is 2nd in the nation in TO margin, forcing 17 more turnovers than they have given up. Navy is also tied for 1st in the nation with fewest penalties, only giving up 38 for the season. Finally, Navy is 3rd in the nation in Red Zone efficiency, scoring 49 times out of their 52 Red Zone trips (.942). Pitt will be unable to keep us off the scoreboard, and our defense will provide enough stops to keep us ahead.
Why you should watch the game:
The Players:
This will be the last collegiate games of both Pitt and Navy’s top playmakers. For the Panthers, Tyler Boyd will most likely be entering the NFL draft, leaving Pitt as the all time leader in both receiving yards and receptions. For Navy, quarterback Keenan Reynolds will graduate this year, leaving Navy with 64 career rushing touchdowns, the most by a QB in NCAA history.
Both Teams Have History:
The Military Bowl will mark the 40th meeting of these two squads, and Pitt leads the series 22-3-14. Their last meeting was @ Navy in 2013, where Navy won 24-21 on a 30-yard field goal as time expired. Although Pitt has a new coach, many of the major players for both teams remember that game and Pitt is ready to make a statement.
The Outrage:
It’s no secret that at 8-4 and 4th in the conference, the Panthers and their fans expected to go to a Tier 1 bowl in either New York City or Nashville. However, technicalities and backroom deals relegated the Panthers to a Tier 2 bowl at Navy’s home field in Annapolis.
Pitt fans handled this in true Pittsburgh fashion, with a lot of f-bombs and accusations of cronyism. The outrage is not without merit. From all reports, Pitt would have wound up in this bowl had they done what they’ve managed to do every year since 2010 and gone 6-6, so their unexpected success was not rewarded in the eyes of Panther nation.
After a weekend of complaining, Pitt fans rallied and recognized that the matchup is a good one. The fan base is also working hard to prove bowl organizers and their claims that they don’t travel wrong. In the first twenty-four hours of ticket sales, Pitt fans bought out half of their allotment and have since bought out their initial allotment, as well as two additional allotments given to them by the Military Bowl. Students were given free tickets as well, with the understanding that if they don’t show up, they will owe the school $50. Needless to say, Pitt should travel well to Annapolis. The Pitt Athletic Department has gotten in on the fun with the twitter hashtag #PittRoadTrip.
Although the team has turned lemons into lemonade, what’s clear is that this will serve as motivation for the Panthers to make a statement and prove that they are for real and deserve to be in the conversation when it comes to bowl selection and are not “Same Old Pitt”.
