Dry cough body aches

1 week withdrawal timeline

2024.05.21 11:40 amfebutamone 1 week withdrawal timeline

History: * Heavy vaper for 10 years * Tapered down over 2 weeks with patches (21-14-7 for a few days) - was feeling confident; could have spread it out more; in evenings I would take off the patch and vape to my heart's content * I quit coffee about a week before I started patches (may have impacted withdrawal positively)
Just graduated college a few weeks ago, took this dead time between graduation and starting a new job to get off of nicotine.
Tapering nicotine patches down experience: Going from 21 to 14 was pretty seamless, felt only mild symptoms. Going from 14 to 7 was a bit more challenging for the first couple days, had some symptoms and took some hits to alleviate, but overall was consuming less nicotine. That was incredibly mild compared to day 1 without the patch.
Day 1: strong cravings, brain fog that got progressively worse (12 hour mark); can't concentrate on anything for long, doing mentally challenging things feels impossible. Frustration tolerance is low but I'm not super irritable.
Day 2: moderate cravings. Brain fog feels worse. In a panic/desparation I'm googling people's nicotine withdrawal timelines hoping that this brain fog won't last for weeks. Brain fog is temporarily better after going for a nice walk. Maybe that slight amount of adrenaline is helping.
By the evening I'm noticing that the brain fog is starting to lift a bit, but irritability is settling in. It's sinister, I don't feel completely annoyed by arbitrary things, but I'm subconsciously picking fights and giving people a hard time for no reason. I remember noticing I was more irritable/quick to anger when I started vaping years ago... ironic.
Day 3: Brain fog is definitely lighter but still present. No way I'm getting anything mentally challenging done. Ended up playing Pokemon for much of the day... haven't played in 7 years or so. I feel awesome, I tell myself, but think it's mostly relief that the brain fog is starting to fade.
Noticed I'm still coughing a good bit here and there, but not experiencing the early morning coughs like I did when I was vaping. Cravings are somehow low but the temptation is still there. Just one hit, just to prove to yourself that you don't need it... glad I didn't do it.
Been drinking the same amount of water I usually do but I'm peeing a LOT. Feels like every 15 minutes I'm getting up to pee. Like I've had coffee for the first time in a while.
Feels like I can't eat as much as I used to. Like things aren't moving through my system as fast (which is fine).
Day 4: Brain fog is 85% gone. Cough is 95% gone and when it's there, it's dry. Irritability is decreasing. Mouth is dry as hell despite drinking tons of water. It's easier to fall asleep.
Day 5: Feel less out of breath when going for moderate walks (2 miles/3.2 km). Have noticed I feel way less irritable/anxious, I'm less stressed around friends/family. More open than normal.
Second day now I've woken up 90 minutes before my alarm. Feels like my sleep is good, it's just harder to fall asleep after waking up compared to before. Took a midmorning nap.
Day 6, Day 7: More of the same. Brain fog is gone. Irritability seems gone. Mouth is still dry. Got the courage to throw out my vape/remaining juice.
I can't believe I've made it this far. I thought I'd always be someone dependent on nicotine. I recommend anyone having a go at least take a few days off from work (if possible), stay hydrated, and do some light exercise.
I feel like I definitely had it easier than some folks. Best of luck to all of you.

2024.05.21 11:38 justasleepymf AITAH for getting upset with my bf for watching porn?

So ik it’s a heavy topic that a lot of people have strong feelings for on both ends, and this is a long one, I apologize in advance. So I’m 22, F, and my new bf is 25, M.
I have a lot of insecurities about myself and I fully admit that. I also have borderline personality disorder, which adds to the insecurities within a relationship. With that being said, I have been in intensive therapy for years and my bpd isn’t necessarily an issue. I’ve had issues with my weight, and finally just dropped 30 lbs.
My new bf is very sweet, I adore him, and I am fairly happy with him. But. There’s one red flag I can’t get passed no matter how hard I try.
I think he’s a sex addict. We talked about sex before we started dating and I told him due to trauma, I sometimes go through phases where I don’t want to be touched sexually. His response “Don’t get upset if you find porn on my phone.” Not the best response, but hey as long as I don’t see it, it can’t hurt me, right? Wrong. We’ve been sexually active very frequently, but as time goes on it’s definitely changed. Going from multiple times a day, to him going off the first try after 10 minutes. But he’s always making sexual comments at me, always hinting for sex, grabbing me sexually. It was off putting but not horrible till the other day. We showered together, I had a mental health moment regarding sex and I told him I sometimes feel like I’m being used for my body, to where I legitimately bawled my eyes out, which I never do in front of people. Fast forward I get up to get dressed and do my thing, he has the door shut, and I realized I forgot my socks. Go to open the door for them and I look down to look at him and see his phone, porn. Straight porn.
I felt sick, not even minutes after I bawled about my sexual trauma and how I’m feeling used, do I open the door to see a girl giving head on his phone.
He claimed it was from the other day and he accidentally left it open, but he’s always on his google so I originally didn’t believe him, now I kinda just brushed it off as a possible tab that was opened.
Fast forward again, I felt sick all day at work yesterday, and had a bad day at work. He picked me up, and got me kinda annoyed with some jokes (non sexual) that he was making towards me so I kept to myself for a bit and laid down to calm my stomach. I knew he was outside in the garage fixing up his car so I got up, walked outside; and was going to tell him I was starting to feel a bit better and wanted to just sit with him. I walk inside and he turns around, belt buckle undone, pants undone, and very visibly aroused. He claimed he went pee and never buckled it back up.
I went to go throw up inside. I was more hurt than anything. He doesn’t ever ask for pictures or videos of me, other than 2 he took before we even started dating. We can’t even have one full session anymore because he goes limp right away and claims it’s because he’s sweating.
I’ve had this uncomfortable feeling in my stomach since, and it’s making the nausea 10x worse. I close my eyes and I see him watching those videos and I don’t know why it makes me feel so awful. I have a very specific build. I’m shortish (5’5) but have very small breasts and upper body, but a larger lower body.
When im in love with someone, I can’t find other people attractive, and I’m even bisexual. The idea of porn grosses me out. My thought process is that you have a partner, why do you have to look at someone else’s videos sexually when you can easily get your partners. But that could also be the fact I have bpd as well. Lastly, as of right now, the reason I’m writing this is because he’s in the shower for work, and he thinks I’m asleep. I hear a women’s voice from inside the bathroom (his phone obv) and the more I try to understand it the more it sounds like moaning. I’m trying not to throw up or cry. I don’t understand why it bothers me so much but it does. I don’t want to seem controlling but it’s absolutely steering me away from him, to the point where when we do have sex, if he closes his eyes I immediately dry up because i just get this thought of him imagining other women.
Am I the AH for being upset over this?

2024.05.21 11:38 Specific-Web43 Could my [23M] tonsilitis be infectious towards the back-end of antibiotic treatment?

Started having symptoms Thursday 12 days ago, it wasn’t bad so I left it untreated until Saturday, which is when it got excruciatingly bad, so I went to the ER first day Sunday morning. Immediately started taking Penicillin 1,5mg/unit (?) 3 times a day until this Saturday. In the meantime I didn’t see my girlfriend, only saw her on Saturday which was also my last day of taking the antibiotics. At this point I was symptom-free, but developed a very occasional cough. Between seeing my GF this Saturday until today she has this morning started having a dry throat and a slight pain when swallowing.
Everywhere I looked on the internet I found sources saying anywhere from 24h-72h after antibiotic treatment does the tonsillitis stop being infectious. Between Sunday (when I started the treatment) and Saturday (when I met my GF) this timeframe has obviously passed. Anyhow my question is: Is there any feasible way she could have contracted it from me regardless? Or are we looking at a normal cold?

2024.05.21 11:18 Luna-tic185 I'm 23 but I still feel like that little girl who needs to be hugged and told that it's all gonna be okay, then taken out for ice cream.

I was never hugged or kissed. I felt like I was treated as an adult most of the times. I was never brought gifts or toys or comforted when something bad happened. I wanna be tucked in bed and read bedtime stories and be kissed on the forehead goodnight. And Idon't think I've grown out of it because there was nothing to grow out of to begin with. I feel like my parents skimmed over a very developmental stage in my life. Idk how to describe it but my body aches and craves to be treated in such a manner and loved. I feel like I'll never get over this feeling. Nothing's gonna make up for that loss. There's this puzzle piece that's missing and the only way I could find it is if I could take a time machine and turn back the time to find it. I feel like a 6 year old trapped in a 23 year old's body.

2024.05.21 11:07 lanter67 Ludwig’s ball guide…

After Luds comment on his last stream I did a quick Reddit search and found this post from 9yrs ago in sex by U/LudwigAhgren
Note: It was a funny read and definitely in his charming grammar style.
Note 2: Some of things do not work anymore but, a few still do.
“The Ultimate Guide to Shaving Your Pubes for Beginners (Men)
If you have a bush like Brillo© , or just want to trim up the forrest so others can pass safely, you're in the right place.
I split groin hair into 5 different groups. Below I have listed the difficulty of each area as well as what kind of shave each area shall receive.
This is what we want the end product to look like. (His pubes look like the mustache of almighty Zeus himself!)
Pubic Hair Ball Hair Taint/Gooch Hair High Thigh Hair Shaft Hair
Easiest to shave. Needs to be trimmed down (No new-born baby penis look) Scariest/Most Difficult to shave. This will be a clean shave. Moderate difficulty. Up to shaver, but I prefer a clean shave. Easy to shave. This will be a clean shave. Nicks can happen here easily. This will be a clean shave.
Tools Needed: Shaving cream (MUST - Practice before which shaving cream works best! Sometimes Conditioner can work better),
electric razor (The side that pops out I will refer to as buzzer and the side with the guard I will refer to as electric razor from here on out)
A Women’s! shaving razor (women’s razors have a much higher guard and will protect better than one for men.

*PLEASE BE PREPARED!* I mean it’s your balls we’re talking about here…

Step 1: The first step will be to shave the pubic hair. Depending on how much hair is down there, you have the option to go at it with scissors like a harbor before throwing the buzzer down there. If you have an average amount (2”>x) then go at it with the buzzer. Hover your family jewels over the toilet, you may even choose to sit like a cool substitute teacher. Brush the square side of the buzzer backwards across your pubes vertically. It may seem as if it isn’t doing anything but trust me you’re losing hair faster than LeBraun James. Continue this until you deem it short enough, I like my pubes around 1/2”.
Note Make sure the pubes length is even throughout, focusing on areas that with longer hair to insure optimum symmetry, bitches love symmetry. Use a mirror!

Step 2: Now you’ll want to ‘square’ out your hair and completely shave off any outliers around your pubes. Perhaps you have a leaky happy trail? Or maybe your pubes are ‘fading’ in. Either way you’ll want this instead of this (not penis don’t fret) Use a mirror to make sure it’s not lopsided.

Step 3: Here we are going to tackle that upper thigh hair that encompasses the whole male crotch area. Now get all nakey if you aren’t already and hop in that shower. Make sure the water is warm because you’re going to be in there for a while. Whip out you’re shaving cream of choice, I use this because it makes the blade glide across my nuts (phrase of the day!). To be fair I am more metrosexual than most gay men. Anyway(!) lather that shaving cream on to you’re upper thigh, above the pubes and right around the taint (make sure the water isn’t washing it all away) and start shaving those areas. The shaving razor will insure that these areas are hair-free.
Note Make sure the blade follows the surface of the skin. You want max blade to skin contact.

Step 4: Here’s my favorite part. Shaving the shaft. Why is it my favorite? It adds an inch to your perceived dick length (now your dick will look like it’s an inch longrekt. Extend your dick by pulling out your head. It will give a similar surface on the base of the dick to an erect penis. Now with the shaving cream and razor, shave the front part of the base, while always making sure the base is flat. Then do each side, trying your best to make the area being shaved flat. A flat area not only allows the razor to get more hair, it also prevents little nicks that can occur. I’ll refer back to Davidfor how far down the base you should shave.
Note If you look at the pic of David, you’ll notice he shaved the area to the right and left of his penis. That is totally you’re call, I have no opinion I find both to by stylish in their own penis way.

Step 5: The balls. AKA Holyshitiamsoscarediamgoingtochopmynutsoff. You may be tempted to skip this part, but trust me, hairy balls do not look good when the rest has been shaved. If you start this, you must to finish it. You are the chosen one. You are supposed to bring balance to your pubes, not leave them in darkness! Do it for the (potential) children.
Back to the balls. We’re going to first start with the outside balls. To do this get in your best captain stance which creates a nice U shape between your thigh and outer left/right ball. This is the kind of U Brett Farve has been talking about. Now, using that handy shaving cream and razor, this should be quite easy. Gently go up that are and always going along the grain. Don’t switch up directions here, that’s too ballsy.
After that’s done we’re going to drift away from the pubes for just a bit. Throw some shaving cream on the taint (this is the area that prevents you from shitting on your balls) and you’ll want to shave from your asshole to the base of your balls. Always going in that direction. IMPORTANT If you touch your taint (ew you’re gross) you’ll notice there is a line. Kind of feels like hair running from your asshole to your balls. It’s actually a vein that controls your orgasms. DO NOT SHAVE ON THIS VEIN Shave to the left and right of it. Don’t go directly on it. I don’t think anything will happen if you do… but better safe than orgasmless.

Step 6: Back to the balls and the last part of the shaving in the shower. This part is difficult and to be honest I’m not sure of the best way to approach this. Balls are weird and that they have no fucking shape and 2 million wrinkles. I like to first take my electric razor and use the buzzer part of it. Then I just air swipe my balls getting all the hair about 1/4” short. Then I take the shaving cream and focus on specific parts squeezing my balls to get maximum surface area. This seems to work out for me, but keeping it 1/4 of an inch isn’t that big of a deal. Hair that short is difficult to notice and ladies/men will still suck your nuts.
Note Loosen up before shaving your balls. Take deep breaths and relax. Make sure your asshole isn’t clenched because that raises your balls. And if you’re down there shaving with a clenched asshole, and for any reason your asshole unclenches, you’re balls will drop (again) and hell will break loose. It is better to shave them while they are low and have them clench upwards.

Step 7: Clean up all the pubes off of your body. This is no simple task. Water is an adhesive so you’ll have to detach the shower head and put that all up in your business. I like to turn on the bath and use that heavy rush of water to cleanse my body of those clingy cutoff pubes. Hop out the shower, dry off and look at your masterpiece Michelangelo. But you are not done yet!

Step 8: Similar to barbers, you will have missed a few hair and you’ll probably have a few 2 inch hairs amongst you’re gently coiffed pubes. Grab a pair of nail scissors or whatever tool you prefer and chop those suckers off. The majority will be on your balls. A fun thing I like to do that is totally fucking weird, is pulling long pubes on my balls and plucking them off. It is surprisingly easy to do so because of the loose ball skin. Don’t yank it out like a band-aid though or you’ll need a band-aid (Ha Ha.. I’m not funny)

Voila, you’re done. Get some aftershave on those freshly shaven balls to disinfect your nicks and make those meaty knockers smell like a man. Congratulations and I hope I was of some help!

Edit 1: Let't talk about asshole hair, (what a great conversation startfuriouslyjotsdown) that area can be shaved and it can look/feel good! But personally, I like to keep my Brown Eye of Sauron to myself. No traveller has dared venture down so I feel no need to shave.
Edit 2: One of my ball shaving colleagues has alerted me that the 'taint vein' is actually, "[A] scar, from where the skin fuses before birth and is called the perineal raphe." (Google it for some nice visuals)

Thank you all for the great response! Being on the front page of sex is something all my future employers will be impressed by. I recently shaved and I seriously mistook my junk for King David's jewels (obviously he is miles bigger) and I thought I'd right down exactly what I did.”

2024.05.21 10:49 Monkeyboogaloo After 2 1/2 years things have changed

I’ll start by saying I’m not better, I’m not back to how I was but things have improved.
This weekend I spent Saturday at a local festival. I stood up for six hours, I chatted to people and I drunk beer. On Sunday I went to another local festival and walked around for a couple of hours.
I am knacked still but no crash.
I slept 10 1/2 hours on Saturday night and Sunday I ached but no crash.
This is quite a change from even a year ago.
My activity levels are the highest gbey've been since getting covid in 21.
I believe that effective pacing and avoiding crashing allows the body to improve the baseline.
But to me two big triggers were standing and talking to people. Both things I minimised. This weekend I didn't.

2024.05.21 10:46 aquashakti Understanding the Different Types of Ovarian Cysts: A Comprehensive Guide

Understanding the Different Types of Ovarian Cysts: A Comprehensive Guide
https://preview.redd.it/extt48b2tq1d1.jpg?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=724732e9e84bd184ad1329712865eb0be3690165

What are ovarian cysts?

Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs formed in the ovary. These are typically formed during ovulation and are usually harmless.
A functional ovarian cyst is a sac that holds a maturing egg. It forms on the surface of a woman's ovary during or after ovulation and goes away after the egg is released. However, if the ovary does not release an egg, or if the sac closes up after the egg is released, the sac can swell up with fluid. Dr sandip sonara is leading an expert in ovarian cyst surgery in Ahmedabad

Types of functional cysts

Follicular cyst

Around the midpoint of a woman’s menstrual cycle, an egg bursts out of its sac or follicle and travels down the fallopian tube. A follicular cyst occurs when the follicle does not release an egg, and the sac swells up with fluid.

Corpus luteum cyst or luteal cyst

This occurs when the sac releases an egg and then reseals and fills with fluid.
Functional cysts are often harmless, without symptoms, and go away without treatment. However, if a cyst becomes large, it can twist, rupture, or bleed, causing pain.

Types of harmful cysts

There are other types of cysts not related to the normal function of a woman’s menstrual cycle. These ovarian cysts become large and rupture, and may be painful or harmful to the body. Some examples are:

Dermoid cyst

Also called teratoma, a dermoid cyst can contain tissues such as hair, skin, or teeth because it forms from embryonic cells. It is rarely cancerous but can become large and cause the ovary to move out of position, which increases the chance of ovarian torsion or the painful twisting of the ovary. Ovarian torsion may also decrease or stop the flow of blood to the ovary.

Cystadenoma

This cyst develops on the surface of an ovary and may be filled with a watery or a mucous material. Like a dermoid cyst, cystadenoma may also grow large and cause the ovary to move out of position, causing ovarian torsion.

Endometrioma

Also known as a 'chocolate cyst', this cyst develops when uterine endometrial cells grow outside a woman’s uterus, and this condition is known as endometriosis. Some of the tissues can attach to the ovary and form a growth.

What are the symptoms of ovarian cysts?

Symptoms of an abnormal cyst include pressure, bloating, swelling, or pain in the lower abdomen on the side of the cyst. This pain may be sharp or dull and intermittent.

Symptoms of a ruptured or large cyst include severe and sudden pain.

  • Less common symptoms include:
  • Pelvic pain
  • Dull ache in the lower back and thighs
  • Problems emptying the bladder or bowel completely
  • Pain during sex
  • Unexplained weight gain
  • Pain during your period
  • Unusual vaginal bleeding
  • Breast tenderness
  • Need to urinate more often
  • What causes ovarian cysts?

There are some causes linked to ovarian cysts. These include:

Hormonal problems or drugs – These help a woman ovulate and may cause functional cysts.
Endometriosis – This can result in the development of a cyst called endometrioma. The endometriosis tissue may attach to the ovary and form a growth. This cyst can be especially painful during sexual intercourse and a woman’s period. Dr.sandip sonara is wellknown in endometriosis specialist, he leading endometriosis doctor in Ahmedabad.
Pregnancy – To help support the pregnancy until the placenta forms, an ovarian cyst develops in early pregnancy and may remain even until late in the child-bearing period. It usually needs to be removed.
Severe pelvic infections – Infections may spread to the fallopian tubes and ovaries, causing cysts to form.

What are the complications and related diseases of ovarian cysts?

Ovarian torsion – Cysts that enlarge can cause the ovary to move, increasing the chance of painful twisting of the ovary.
Rupture – A ruptured ovarian cyst can cause severe pain and internal bleeding. Larger cysts have a greater risk of rupture. Vigorous activity affecting the pelvis may also increase the risk.
Cancer – Cystic ovarian masses that develop after menopause are possibly cancerous. For this, regular pelvic exams are important.

2024.05.21 10:37 adr826 The Book of Shadows

The last memory I had of my grandfather was hearing him scream as the the shadows in the field began to surround him with thin, web like fibers. Then my mother picked me up and ran with me in her arms back into our old farm house.
My last memory, that is until last night, when I awakened to a tinkling bell in an unknown vault so immense I couldn't see the walls or the ceiling. Far away I saw a dull light and heard the faint tinkling of a bell, incessantly ringing. I followed the sound till I could see him on a throne, which seemed to have merged with his body, leaving only his fingers free.
The acrid scent of burning wax and a lurking fear clung to the borders of the dream, if a dream it was. There, in the dim candle glow, sat my grandfather, his weathered face, a thousand years older than when I'd last seen him, etched with a desperate urgency. The same face I'd last seen contorted in a scream as he was swallowed by the shadows that had consumed him years ago.
"Elias," his voice, as dry as the dust that blanketed his entire body, said "You must listen. The darkness… it returns. Stronger this time." Terror struck my heart like a dagger, the memory of that horrifying night vivid even after all these years.
He pointed to a small table, on top of which lay an ancient leather book. "The Book of Repelling Shadows," he whispered. "Hidden all these years in my library… find the spell. You'll know it by the seven ravens on the preceding page. Recite it, Elias. It's the only way to banish the darkness and save yourself from my terrible fate. Go!!"
The dream dissolved, I awoke in a cold sweat, back in my bed. My heart pounded, like a drum, a rhythm of dread mixed with a sliver of desperate hope. I knew I must find the book or suffer the same choking embrace of eldritch shadows that had cursed our family for generations. Had my grandfather finally learned the secret to banish them forever? I had to find that book before they returned to claim me.
The book was, as He'd said it would be, in the family library. Written in an strange tongue, I frantically turned page after page till I discovered a page, on which were drawn seven ravens. On the opposite page there was written a single spell. The script was a simple gothic alphabet which I could recite, even though the language was unfamiliar.
Days bled into nights as I poured over the archaic script, the cryptic letters writhing like snakes before my sleep-deprived eyes. The passage was an incantation which seemed to promise the banishment of shadows. Relief washed over me, freedom from the ancient curse within my grasp. Tomorrow, I would face the darkness, armed with my grandfather's book.
The next night, I stood in the field behind the farmhouse. The moon was casting long, menacing shadows across the grass. Clutching the book, my voice trembled as I began the chant. The shadows seemed to peer into me, responding to the power of the words. Then, a flicker in the corner of my eye. A single tendril of darkness began to creep back from me, melting into the others.
Suddenly, I felt powerful even joyous as I recited the passages. I'd done it. I'd outwitted the very essence of darkness, using the power of the grimoire in my grandfathers library to turn it back. But as I closed the book , a flicker of unease sparked in my mind.
The symbols on the cover seemed different somehow. The incantation I'd recited sounded wrong as it paused, seeming to hang in the air . Anxiety began to overtake me, I felt a cold fear creeping down my spine. The shadows, weren't retreating as I believed but were surging forward with a malevolent hunger.
Frantic, I flipped through the pages, searching for the passage, the one that had repelled the darkness. But there were no ravens to be found, only a chilling emptiness where the spell had been moments ago. In my desperation, a horrifying realization dawned. This wasn't the Book of Banishing Shadows. It had never been.
The reality crashed over me like a tidal wave. My grandfather had been dead long ago. That old man on the throne wasnt him. All along, I'd been an unwitting pawn, duped by the darkness itself into unleashing the very thing I feared the most. The shadows I'd "banished" were now dancing joyously, in the pale moonlight.
My scream, lost in the encroaching darkness, was the last sound the world would ever hear from me. I was slowly being enveloped by the very shadows I so naively believed I'd repelled. The book, now fallen at my feet, in a cruel mockery of hope, lay closed. Its true title now plain to see in the last rays of the setting moon - The Book of Summoning Shadows.

2024.05.21 10:30 Pearson94 How did you find out it was GERD?

I've (34m) had a bit of a medical rollercoaster since early March that started with a mono diagnosis but has since been a whole chain of medical issues linked to that. I'm mostly better but a lot of my remaining symptoms line up with GERD (chest and abdominal pain, bloating, burping way more than usual, etc.). Also, for what it's worth, a lot of my daily foods were on the list of foods to avoid (caffeine, spicy food, and carbonated water in particular). Currently I have hypothyroidism (so everything in my body runs slower than usual) and taking levothyroxine once a day for that.
Did anyone have a similar start to GERD? I know it looks like I'm shopping for an answer but between my thyroid, medication, mono recovery, anxiety, allergies, stress, and bad air (burn season blows smoke my way this time every year) I don't know what to believe is causing every new ache and pain in me.

2024.05.21 10:19 apple_pie233 Help, I accidentally removed the fibrin!!!

Hi, I got my wisdom teeth out 2 weeks ago, and I had to take antibiotics due to dry socket, but now the other side hurts. I'm so stupid, I thought there was food in the hole so I flushed it, but I think I flushed the fibrin coating away, now it hurts and kinda bleeds... I don't want to go to the doctor for the 1000th time, can I just keep it clean and it will go away? I can't stand antibiotics anymore they mess up my whole body.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm 20 and about 2-3 months ago I was completely fine. I used to do 5-10 mile runs every week and worked out in the gym 2-3 times a week. Stopped this abruptly because of a very hard exam period, where i was constantly stressed and under pressure, and little sleep (4h/night). About 1 month ago this chest pain started, right in the middle of my chest. It feels like a burning constant dull ache, sometimes feeling it differently depending on the way i sit/lay down and when I flex my chest I feel the spot where it hurts.
The problem is I have bad health anxiety and very scared of hospitals. I went to 3 GPs, had EKG done and blood test, all came out clean, only my cortisol was high, which doctor (and therapist) said it was due to stress. I also have slightly high blood pressure these times (It was completely normal before. It always goes up with stress for me). My doctors keep reminding me that I am fine but I am scared if i have this constant prolonged stress and higher than normal BP my heart will wear more and it'll take years off my life. I'm very overwhelmed.
I really want to know how to stop this. It has somewhat dissapeared for 1-2 weeks during this period but other parts of my body hurt unexplainedly, such as my neck, head, shoulder, and when these went away, my chest started hurting again.
Has anyone experienced this?

2024.05.21 10:08 unablifical Withdrawal experiences - actual hell

Hi all,
It's been about 2 months of tapering -> stopping abilify and it was a messed up experience. I have never felt worse in my life.
I started abilify / aripiprazole in addition to my SSRI for depression and anxiety back in 2018 and I chose to stop it this year after discussing it with my psychiatrist. I was on 10 mg abilify -> 5 mg (for 2 weeks) -> 2.5 mg (2 weeks) -> 0 (3 weeks ago).
week 1 off abilify was good, everything is normal, nothing changed. Week 2 I started feeling like I had a bad case of flu (without lung/throat/sneezing/coughing) and it kept going downhill since then up until today(I hope it stays like this, today is the only day since week 2 I actually feel normal)
Throughout those weeks I experienced body aches, sweating, chills, exhaustion, fatigue that only got worse and worse and I could only sleep it off. I felt like depression and anxiety rebounded for a few days but it wasn't my biggest concern given how awful my body felt.
I have no idea if I this was a massive mistake, I feel alright now after being a zombie for the past 3-5 weeks but I still feel on the verge of starting to shiver.
I would not like to start taking this drug again but I just want to know how long this should last.. I'm booking an appointment with my psychiatrist in the morning to figure this out but my god this has been the worst i've ever felt in my life.
I am currently on venlafaxine XR 150 mg and vyvanse 40mg, and I noticed taking the vyvanse just made me feel worse (It was never like this before)
Until I could see my doc, I would like to hear your experiences with withdrawal/tapering. I genuinely hope today isn't a one-off day of feeling okay and it gets better and that I am not messing up anything. Like did I taper it off too quickly? my doc told me some people stop taking it at 5 mg but told me to taper down to 2.5 mg, which I did but I think I missed the last 2 days of that period. I honestly can't believe someone would stop taking it cold turkey given my experience
Side note:
I've had terrible stomach issues that happened after I started abilify and I feel like my digestive health improved immensely. I don't know if it's related to antipsychotics' effects on gut bacteria but I don't feel completely dead after meals like I used to. I still have GERD but I feel like the symptoms kinda improved but I can't tell for sure if it's related to quitting it

2024.05.21 10:05 curiously_insane Adopted a stray, got some questions

I finally took home a stray, a dehydrated and malnourished beautiful boy. His age is unclear, but vet estimated between 2 and 5 years old weighing in just under 2kg (4 pounds ish), unneutered. Stray cats on Malta typically have access to water and the occasional food bowl.
Here's a picture of him when he was on the streets: https://i.imgur.com/eLmaUdu.jpeg
I'm so worried that I am feeding him too much, or too little. I got him last Friday and fed him small portions, often, to avoid refeeding syndrome which I read about. Now I am feeding him 4 times per day every 4th hour between 10am and 10pm, around 30-40g of wet food (high meat content) per time which equals around 140-160 grams per day.
Another reason for concern is possible thyroid issues which my vet detected from palpating under his neck. Blood tests will be carried out on Thursday. He also seems to have a cold, or cat herpes. Sometimes there's small amounts of discharge from his nose, and he sometimes sneezes it out.
The vet put him on antibiotics (Marbocyl/Marbofloxacin P 5mg), something against his cold/herpes (Herpless), something to alleviate inflammation/reduce pain (Loxicom 0.5 mg/ml) along with vitamins and aminoacids (Vigorpet).
There's so many things that he could potentially suffer from. I've got his lice infestation under control, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's got worms - but his faeces don't show any signs of it, other than the occasional diarrhea. I stopped giving him dry food because there seems to be mouth/tooth or gum ache when eating harder food. I even started adding water to his wet food to make it easier for him, his pain or at least the complaints stopped.
My questions to you all is:

2024.05.21 10:02 Fabulous_North_4846 Does this look like Lyme? Help me identify this rash

I have several rashes on my body - arms and legs, and they're in the bulls eye appearance. I believe the one on my arm has been there for about two months. 1 week ago, I started a 3 week course of doxycycline, however when the blood test results came back it was negative for Lyme. However I decided to just continue to take the doxy as a caution. The rash themselves seem to appear shiny/scaly almost like dry skin. I don't remember getting a tick bite but I do spend a lot of time outside. My GP believes it's not Lyme as the blood tests are negative and I'm not sure what to do.

🔗World War I and II Era 1911 Webley Revolver Replica

https://preview.redd.it/08do7mt8kq1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5f5e2e11c48bdfaeda4468ae54b40d161996708b
As a history buff, I was drawn to the Denix Webley Revolver replica, with its ties to the Indiana Jones movies. The first thing that struck me was its weight, which made it feel like a real gun. The details were incredibly accurate, right down to the checkered grip and the engraving on the barrel.
However, I found it a bit disappointing that the break-open action didn't work. It may be a minor issue for some, but for me, it took away a bit of the authenticity.
Nevertheless, it's a great display piece and does justice to its historical origins.

🔗1851 Navy Revolver: A Reliable and Handsome Sidearm for Gunfighters

https://preview.redd.it/4go1my59kq1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=28c7506795c59a3a51fb4017acb8028da750acc1
This antique beauty, the Polished Gold and Nickel M1851 Navy Revolver by Medieval Collectibles, is a sight to behold. The intricate details on this 4-barrel pistol bring it to life, transporting you back to the Civil War era, and even beyond.
The 7.5-inch barrel, with its octagonal design, has a timeless charm that's impossible to ignore. The solid frame exudes confidence and strength, much like the times it was used. At 13 inches in total length and a weight of 2.3 lbs. , it's a well-balanced sidearm for gun enthusiasts.
However, there are a few areas that might require attention. Some users have reported loose moving parts and issues with the plating, which could affect its overall durability. Additionally, there's been mention of sharp edges and misaligned fittings, which might not be ideal for those handling this piece.
Despite these setbacks, the M1851 Navy Revolver remains a coveted collectible. With the right care, it could become a prized possession, adding an element of history to your collection.

🔗Denix 1106N 1873 Old West Revolver .45 - 12.25 Inch Metal Barrel with Wood Grips

https://preview.redd.it/qioj11m9kq1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=edd9aa1b35d2b8eebc4eb6cdc562852fce43d88c
I was pleasantly surprised by this 1873 Old West Revolver from Denix, it felt tough and well-constructed. The 5.5 inch black cast metal barrel and trigger give it a solid, weighted feel, while the genuine wood grips lent a touch of authenticity. In my daily life, it served as a perfect replica for a western-themed event and even in my holster, it looked great.
However, I did notice that the action of the trigger wasn't as smooth as it could be, but overall, this was a good purchase.

🔗Authentic Western Revolver with Gallery Stand (Metal Frame, 13-inch Overall)

https://preview.redd.it/xnfifxx9kq1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4cc35c003453cfaeb4fda21ea1a01e1fc1799a2d
I've been using this decorative western-style navy revolver with a flint mechanism in my study, and it's quite a conversation starter. The ornate engravings on the barrel have made it a standout piece, drawing attention from my friends and family. The revolver's silver finish adds a touch of elegance to my space, making it a unique addition to my decor.
One thing I should mention, though, is the size. With an overall length of 13 inches, it takes up some room on my desk. It might be a bit too large for those with smaller studies, but it fits nicely in mine. The display stand provided is also quite handsome, complementing the revolver's design perfectly. Overall, I'd highly recommend this decorative piece to anyone looking for a standout addition to their study or office.

🔗Nickel-Finished 4-Barrel Non-Firing Revolver Replica

https://preview.redd.it/jxxif3bakq1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=80bf5d7a949610578258166a18317218b5873fa5
The Denix CA Classic M1851 Navy Revolver, Nickel, is a replica that truly captures the essence of the original. This non-firing piece of artistry perfectly mimics the iconic revolver, with its nickel-finished metal barrel and imitation ivory grips. The simulated firing mechanism, rotating barrel, and overall design make it a showstopper, reminding me of classic Western movies.
Despite its impressive appearance, the replica weighs in at a mere 2.3 lbs, making it an easy piece to handle and carry around with pride. However, one downside I've noticed is the overall length, which measures at 13 inches, making storage a bit of a challenge – but it's a small price to pay for such an authentic and beautiful replica.

As a fan of Civil War reenacting, the Denix 1849 Wells Fargo Revolver has been a game-changer for me. Its realistic look and feel are top-notch, making it an excellent addition to my outfit, giving it that authentic touch.
The black metal and nickel body, with its wood grips, is a delight to hold and adds a sense of weight to it - a detail that's hard to find in other replicas. However, I've also experienced some minor downsides, like the non-firing replica being the only type available. But overall, I'm thrilled with my purchase, and it has become a favorite in my collection.

🔗Nickel Finish Smith and Wesson 1869 Army Revolver Replica

https://preview.redd.it/egr5fpyekq1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=79eb49beb7c8fe2ae170a3c37b926897634afadd
As someone who's always been fascinated by the era of the Old West, I couldn't resist trying out this non-firing replica of the 1869 Army Revolver. Featuring a sleek nickel silver finish, this replica brought me back to the iconic "Cowboy" days.
Handling the replica felt like holding a piece of history, with the original's "single action" and "top break" mechanisms. It even had the added bonus of being a non-firing model, which meant I didn't have to worry about accidentally accidentally discharging it.
However, the size and weight of the replica were a bit more challenging to deal with, given that it's a faithful replica of the original. Despite this, I appreciated the fact that it gave me a better understanding of the real gun without the need to purchase one.
All in all, the Denix 1869 Army Revolver replica is a solid choice for anyone looking to step into the boots of a "Cowboy" in the Old West. Just be prepared to handle its size and weight!

🔗Authentic 1860 Civil War Revolver Replica for Display and Roleplay

https://preview.redd.it/bp7wlfbfkq1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8a3efbba9331edff288cc804aca89a45e7516a78
This Denix replica of the Civil War M1860 Revolver has been a fascinating addition to my collection. It's a fun and affordable way to appreciate the rich history of firearms while staying in compliance with safety regulations. The nickel finish metal construction with wood grips is a lovely touch, not to mention the realistic weight that really helps complete the illusion. With its simulated mechanism of firing and loading, it's like handling the genuine article - just without the risk of accidentally discharging it.
However, there's one thing I wish they had addressed. The replica does make a bit of noise and rattle when shaken, which can be a bit bothersome. Overall, I've found this non-firing replica to be a thrilling and authentic-feeling prop that any history or firearms enthusiast would enjoy.

🔗Authentic 45 Peacemaker Replica Revolver by Denix

https://preview.redd.it/0j0fjqofkq1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e77ed396defd0efe2047d70a5f4d1b185d6d2137
I recently added the Denix 0.45 Army Revolver Engraved Brass FD1280L to my collection, and it's been a fantastic addition. This non-firing replica, featuring a gold patina finish and a wooden grip, brings the 45 Peacemaker look to life. I'm impressed with its weight and the realistic feel it provides—almost like I'm holding a piece of history.
The engraving on this magnificent replica adds to its allure, making it a beautiful conversation starter. As a collector, I appreciate the authentic details—from the barrel length of 3.875 inches to the gold patina finish. The wooden grip not only enhances its aesthetic value but also makes it feel like a genuine piece from the past.
One thing to note, some users have mentioned they would have liked a red tip at the end of the barrel, like on the real 1873 Single-Action Army Revolver. However, this does not seem to be a deal-breaker as the majority of reviews praise its realism and quality.
Overall, I highly recommend the Denix 0.45 Army Revolver Engraved Brass FD1280L to anyone who loves history and wants a realistic replica in their hands.

🔗Giclee Canvas Artwork with Premium Epson Inks

I recently fell in love with the iCanvas Midtown Moonlight by Emma Bell Canvas Print. This stunning piece is a true testament to the beauty of fine-art paintings, offering a texture and feel that's second to none. What really sets this print apart is the use of professionally hand-stretched Premium Epson Inks, which have proven to be vivid, fade-resistant, and water-resistant—perfect for any living space!
One of my favorite aspects of this print is that it's ready to hang straight out of the box with no assembly needed. It even includes hanging accessories, making installation a breeze. With a 26x40 deep frame in 1.5" thickness, this canvas print has a premium quality that's both visually stunning and durable.
Having this iCanvas Midtown Moonlight on display has brought a sense of calm and wonder to my living space, and I'm grateful for the craftsmanship and care put into creating it.

🔗Authentic Nickel-Finished M1849 Dragoon Revolver Replica

https://preview.redd.it/ny2wrlhgkq1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6dbc4004a46104c8a24e4c13020909e6aa5042c0
As a history enthusiast, I was thrilled to add the Denix M1849 Dragoon Revolver (DX1055G) to my collection of antique replicas. The overall aesthetic of this piece is simply stunning, with its antique nickel finish and rich brown wood grips.
Handling this replica feels quite authentic, thanks to Denix's attention to detail in recreating the feel of a genuine revolver. However, it's important for collectors to remember that while the locks on these replicas are mechanically functional, they are completely safe and non-fireable, requiring no federal license to buy or sell.
One of the most impressive aspects of this replica is its accuracy in capturing the historical design of the M1849 Dragoon Revolver. From its 14 1/4" overall length to its 4 3/4" barrel, every element has been meticulously crafted to ensure an accurate representation of the original firearm.
While some may argue that this replica is slightly more expensive than others on the market, I believe the high-quality craftsmanship and historical accuracy make it well worth the investment. Overall, the DX1055G Denix M1849 Dragoon Revolver is a stunning addition to any antique weapon collection.

🔗Realistic 19th Century Smith & Wesson Revolver Replica with Antique Blue Finish

https://preview.redd.it/d3jk3pvgkq1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c612bd18023da80f64ad25b9944b387d29f7e618
I recently added the Denix Replicas 1008L to my collection, and let me tell you, it's quite the impressive addition. The brass and blue finish blend beautifully, capturing the essence of the original Smith and Wesson "First Model American" Army Revolver. It's interesting to see how the hinged frame and automatic ejection system were pivotal in the evolution of firearms.
Despite its antique charm, the replica still brings a sense of realism with its single action mechanism and top break loading design. The wood grips add a touch of refinement to the overall design. However, using it brought to light a minor flaw – the wood grip's durability. In my experience, the grip began to show signs of wear, which was a bit of a letdown.
Overall, the Denix Replicas 1008L is a delightful addition to any collection, and it serves as a great reminder of the technological advancements made in the field of firearms. Despite its minor flaw, the replica still holds a special place in my heart.

🔗High-Quality, Realistic Training Revolver for Martial Arts and Defense

Using the Cold Steel Ruger Super Redhawk Rubber Training Revolver has been quite an experience. This training revolver stands out with its lime green color, making it perfect for anyone looking to train safely without the fear of accidentally shooting someone. The thickness of 1.88 inches and the overall length of 13 inches provide a realistic feel when practicing drawing techniques from the holster or disarming moves in close quarter situations. The polymer material makes it sturdy enough for rigorous training without being too harsh, thanks to the softness that allows for safe hand-to-hand striking.
However, it's essential to note that the barrel might have a bit of give and could bend a little under pressure, which could raise some concerns for serious martial artists or defense trainers. Nonetheless, this Cold Steel Ruger Super Redhawk Revolver is a reliable training partner, especially considering its affordable price and the fact that it's modeled after one of America's popular pistols, offering a practical yet cost-effective solution for gun enthusiasts or martial arts professionals.

🔗Realistic Navy Engraved Civil War Revolver Pistol Replica

https://preview.redd.it/5e6qfvohkq1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e1afd73f2d53cd538b017ce82179f302174fa96
I recently had the pleasure of using the DENIX Navy Engraved Civil War Revolver Pistol Replica in my daily life and I must say, it was quite an experience. The stunning Navy Blue color of the gun immediately caught my attention, and the intricate engravings on the barrel made it look like a piece of art.
One of the features that stood out to me was the wood grips. They not only added to the overall aesthetic of the pistol, but also provided a comfortable grip that made it easy to hold and handle. The 13-inch overall length of the replica was just the right size for displaying and admiring it.
However, the replica did have some limitations, such as the fact that it is non-functional and intended only for collection and decoration. This might be a letdown for those looking for a fully realistic or firing replica. Additionally, the mechanics of the locks on the replica firearms are completely safe, but the unrealistic use of purchasing and possessing it should be double-checked in your local area.
Despite the minor drawbacks, the DENIX Navy Engraved Civil War Revolver Pistol Replica is a beautiful and reliable addition to any collection, and it certainly turned heads when I displayed it in my home.

2024.05.21 09:27 M1mikyu_ Tf do I eat??

So, a little bit of context and important info. I'm 15 years old and my parents are really bad when it comes to my health (gaslighting me, telling me it's my fault, ignoring me, etc.) so I am trying to as much as I can to help myself since it usually takes my parents 3 months to 3 years to agree to schedule an appointment. I have no current diagnosis but POTs and chronic fatigue has been suspected. I have no idea what's wrong with my gastrointestinal system. About two months ago, I started getting frequent nausea + stomach aches. It's getting so painful to eat. I've tried basic meds like pepto bismol but it didn't help. I can't recognize a pattern in the "no" foods, A couple of the ones on the "no" list of that I can remember right now is apples, sodas, burger, lollipop, soup, popsicles, yogurt, pizza, chips, mac n cheese, tomatoes, fruit roll ups, ramen, and oranges. I'm struggling to find food that is tolerable. I can eat oatmeal, most protein bars, those little Gerber baby puff snack things, dried seaweed, plus plain popcorn. Any suggestions on what to try next?? sorry in advance but my list of food allergies are: kiwis, pears, papayas, pistachios, peanuts, fish, crab, shrimp, and potentially pumpkin seeds and pecans. My mom has purposely "lost" or procrastinated bloodwork so idk if there is more.

2024.05.21 09:14 Moompaw89 How to know if a cat is pregnant or just fat?

Hi! So normally I can tell the difference with context clues but with this stray we're fostering I don't have many. When we got her in she wasn't even 5 pounds, extremely sickly, but very friendly. We've been taking care of her, found her a good adopter that was personally know who will be taking her in late summer. We've had her for about a month now, last time we took her to the vet to get checked out for fur loss (determined to be caused by calicivirus and dead fleas) she was officially 6.01 pounds! I assumed she had a leg injury as she tends to hiss and get upset if she's held a certain way but it didn't seem to bother her enough to warrant an x-ray (didn't wanna get one unnecessarily bc they're expensive and we know her soon to be owner will gladly pick up and take care of what we can't.)
I send her future owner updates at least once a week and sometimes once a day to keep her in the loop. I joked recently about how much the cat bloats after eating. I just got back from a trip and I noticed she was rounder than when I left and the person who was taking care of her noted so too, assuming she was just eating too much. When I picked her up today in the way I normally do, she hissed a lot and swatted at me when I put pressure on her belly area. (She wasn't upset she was telling me she didn't like that and immediately calmed down once she was set down :) No struggle during holding just upon picking up. She's a good cat I don't want to make her sound mean. :( )
It just occurred to me that there a chance she might be pregnant as she's not spayed (something the future owner will have done as spays are often around $500 with our vet, closer to $1k if it's a spay abort) and it is around the time she would be starting to show. I assumed with the state she was in when we got her that her body would've terminated any pregnancy to try to heal herself but saying that aloud I realize how silly that sounds.
I can try to get an above picture of her tomorrow as we're settled in bed and I don't want to bother her but here is a side by side of the day we got her in and shortly after her most recent vet appointment. Keep in mind the second photo is literally RIGHT after she ate.
Granted she is eating a lot and I'm pulling back on how much she's eating now that I'm back to managing her food (wanted to keep it simple for her temporary care taker). She was being given two full cans of wet food and roughly 1 and a half measuring cups of dry food, she doesnt eat all of it, we just provided options. I'm bringing her down to half a can of wet food and 1/2 a measuring cup of dry food. Before the change is implemented she would sometimes barely touch the wet food to SCARFING down both cans, most of the time she slowly eats through the hard food over a week and a half, eating far less than 1/4th cup in a day. But some days she eats the dry food instead of the wet food. So there's definitely opportunity for her to be getting fat. (Want to clarify that much food we were given the okay to give to her by our vet to get her weight up and help heal her tongue ulcers as we used to have to make her soft food into a slurry but she was still determined to eat the hard food sometimes. We give all our other cats 1/4th cup of dry food and a little wet food for some liquid in their diet. :) )
I plan to call and schedule a vet appointment for next week (so it's after we get paid) for an x-ray for her legs anyway, but I'm asking here for any tips or insight or things we should be looking out for! Advice is appreciated thank you!!
(If it helps, all of our other cats are fixed and she's kept separated from them bc of her calicivirus. We got her April 20th which is when the first photo was taken. She had a large upper respiratory infection, severely ulcerated tongue, severely underweight, and general pain but that all has been treated with exception of calicivirus as it's been explained to me that it's a chronic condition and not exactly can be cured. But we are managing it! We have handled other fosters including a pregnant one, we were in an okay financial situation when we took this one in and right now it's a little rocky but will be okay now we're budgeting better we just need to wait for more paydays for things to even out. No matter what she will get the care she needs and she will be taken to the vet, I'm just looking for input until we can get her to her vet appointment without completely breaking the bank :) )
Third and fourth photos are to show her face when we first got her (she was a cuddle bug and did not want to be alone) and most recently! :) as you can see she's doing well health wise!!!
So what should I watch out for to see if she may be pregnant or just fat??? Both there's equal chance of in my eyes, we don't know her backstory other than she's less than a year old and was outside until someone caught her and brought her to us, even then they hadn't seen her before so they don't have any history either on her.
I can try to answer questions! Sorry if this is too much detail, I care about her a lot and want to give information that may help in figuring things out about her!!!

2024.05.21 09:11 adr826 The book of Shadows
