Hi all, as the title says Hesychasm has "pushed" me towards leaving the EO Church. It may seem like a minor thing to leave EO over, but for me I've been torn between EO and RC for some time now and this issue is the "smoking gun" (imo). Let me explain my line of thinking and please correct me where/if I'm wrong or misinformed.
EO and RC split around 1054, RC proceeds to introduce some "new" additions to the faith (Purgatory, Immaculate Conception etc.) but nothing that is necessarily that impactful on a day to day basis. (E.g. whether or not Mary was immaculately conceived doesn't weigh on my conscious daily and doesn't really impact my prayer life or spiritual life in a meaningful way). I understand that there are obviously doctrines that do impact RC lives daily (e.g. indulgences) but I still believe this is on a minor scale compared to my next point. EO on the other hand, kept their traditions mostly the same after the split with a few minor additions of their own as well. That was UNTIL the Palamas/Hesychasm debates in the 14th Century. During this era of EO history, the EO monks began to embrace some very odd practices involving breathe work, postures (i.e. yoga), meditation, and supposedly began seeing the "uncreated light of God". These practices very obviously are identical to the pagan practices we see in yoga and Islam etc. and were foreign to The Faith until after the split when the EO embraced them. Barlaam the theologian/monk and scholar proceeds to condemn these practices as unorthodox and Palamas is considered a heretic until that decision is overturned and eventually EO embrace Palamas and his Hesychasm teachings, and I believe Barlaam went on to convert to RC afterward. That's a very abridged version, but all that to say, if EO fully embraced this teaching that by sitting in a certain yoga poses, tucking your chin in, breathing through the diaphragm, and navel gazing will provide Christians with the possible ability to "see God", isn't this a MAJOR erroneous development in our tradition? I get it, RC introducing Purgatory is a tough pill to swallow, but doesn't that at least stay within the parameters of Christian faith comparatively speaking to our "side" that accepted full blown demonically centered yoga? I think at the time in the 1350s all the Christian/Hindu/Buddhist/Islamic monks doing this practice were having experiences, but I think as the science has caught up in the 21st Century, we're kinda left with egg on our face as we now know it isn't "God" they were seeing, but was due to the blood flow and oxygen levels that are manipulated by meditative yoga. If an atheist can reproduce this identical experience as many do through meditation/yoga, then we know it wasn't a supernatural experience as Palamas and ultimately EO doctrinal defined it.
All that to say, if anyone has 15 mins to watch this clip from 2:06-17:26 (Youtub = Eastern "Orthodoxy" Exposed: Their Heretical Doctrine of God - by Vaticancatholic.com) outlining these practices in Hesychams and teachings of Palamas I'd love to hear a thoughtful rebuttal (FYI the content creator is uncharitable and difficult to stomach at times, but his historical account/quotes are spot on according to reputable Orthodox online resources I've found). I don't want to leave EO but feel as though if our fathers got it THIS wrong in this area and embraced full blown pagan demonic yogi practices and affirmed it in our "Spirit lead" synods/councils, then we are in grave error and thus prone to error in other areas as well (i.e. the Papacy perhaps?). Accepting the Pope has spoken infallibly 5-10 times over the last 2000 yrs has been much easier for me to accept then EO fundamentally shifting to a Palamas-ish theology. And honest question, if this has become part of the EO tradition, how many of you actually practice this? Seriously, if we can potentially "see God" tonight through breathwork and special postures, why wouldn't we do this daily? (I have a sneaking suspicion most of us don't participate in this practice because something within us knows better).

Turns out there is zero physical/mechanical difference between, for instance, the MT5602-U in the new METAS-certified Black Bay 41 and the old MT5602 in the pre-METAS Black Bay 41.
The only difference is that one has gone through METAS testing (and passed, obv) and the other hasn't been tested.

Turns out there is zero physical/mechanical difference between, for instance, the MT5602-U in the new METAS-certified Black Bay 41 and the old MT5602 in the pre-METAS Black Bay 41.
The only difference is that one has gone through METAS testing (and passed, obv) and the other hasn't been tested.

I have a personal finance channel. 41 videos, 59 subscribers. Have been doing it for 6 months.
I wont go into details on SEO, titles and thumbnails. I want to talk about more about the niche approach strategy.
I think the channel is suffering because I confused the algorithm. I uploaded videos of different niches so it might have confused the audience-thing. This is it:
5 - Self development videos
9 - Personal finance (1 of which I want to delete but I know it’s bad)
10 - DIY accounting and tax videos
7 - property videos
3 - university
2 - digital assets (investing in website and seo strategies)
6 - Doing Youtube (my progress, updates, analytics etc)
So you can see it’s quite the mix
The strongest videos are the self-taught accounting and tax tutorials but those are just because I wanted to teach stuff. People are finding it helpful but they come from Search. They watch the video and leave. It’s a searchable problem-solution situation that doesnt generate subscribers.
You can see I have a mix of Finance videos and Youtubing videos.
I might have confused the algorithm altogether.
So I’m thinking of starting 2 new channels: - one for my personal finance stuff - one for my Youtube learning journey
On the old channel delete those videos and reupload them to those new channels. On the old channel keep the Search-heavy content that is helping people out anyway, wont touch that.
Plan is to have my new channel have zero accounting tax stuff, because thats a different audience.
Learning Youtube audience will be its own channel as well.
What are your thoughts on this? Should I keep the existing channel or split it up while it’s still in the beginning?
Asking because there are videos that I dont think are valuable so I want to delete them. But if I delete a video, it’s bye bye to impressions. Also, my binge is broken whenever youtube recommends a diy accounting video right after an engaging personal finance video. So I cant create long sessions because it’s mixed up.

I asked a question on here recently that led to a discussion about antennas. I'm not new to the concept that it's a crucial part of any radio setup, but hadn't given much thought into building one myself. But now that I've started down the rabbit hole of researching them, I'm really excited to try and build my own! Especially since I just got my General and would like to start exploring HF.
So I'd like to try my hand at a dipole for 20m (and maybe even 40m) when I'm visiting my parents in a few weeks and have access to a big backyard (they live in the midwest). Is a dipole really just as simple as 2 stretches of 1/4 wavelength wire with a center feed? I like to be explicit with everything as possible to make sure I understand everything completely. My plan was to use 14AWG pure copper, stranded wire. 14AWG because my understanding is that the thicker the wire the better (for better bandwidth), but also there's a compromise with price and idk, 14 seemed a decent gauge. Copper because it's a great conductor, but if that doesn't matter as much, using aluminum would be nice for the lower cost. And I was watching a YouTube video where the guy recommended stranded over solid because, especially if you're going to be putting the antenna up and taking it down a lot, the solid core wire will be harder to manage and could develop kinks and bends over time.
And then there's the balun. I'd like to try and make my own, but that means I need to understand what it's doing. From what I gather, it's acting as a source of inductance between the feedline and the antenna so that the RF signal in the dipole will not significantly travel into the feedline (because high inductance produces high impedance to A/C), effectively isolating your antenna from your feedline. The reason having the RF signal in the feedline is bad is because a) it means the feedline is part of your antenna, which will introduce asymmetry in your antenna. And b) you have the strong RF signal running in your feedline into your shake, which can be dangerous if your rig is running at high power (although I'll probably start with QRP, so not really a problem). Is all that correct?
How then, do I go about building a balun? Seems like I need a common-mode chock. How do I go about making one of those? And also, I see a ratio shown for different types of baluns. What do those ratios mean and how do I know what is the right one to use?
Finally, what type of feedline should I use and why? I'm not new to electronics, but mostly I've worked with microcontrollers and digital circuits. All this signal stuff is relatively new to me. And there seems to be so many different types of coax and connectors and standards and what not. How do I go about picking one for a specific application?
I know I'm asking a lot of questions. If you only have an answer to some or even one of them, please feel free to just address those specific ones. I really appreciate people helping me out with this hobby and helping me learn all the nitty-gritty details!

My baby will not nap more than 30 minutes, unless i contact nap her and be her pacifier. I have returned to work 2 days a week WFH so I can contact during my lunch (Grandma will be here to watch her) and will be asked/required to increase my hours eventually, which requires me in the office. Now I feel like I shouldnt be working because she needs me to nap. Shes much happier when I hold her another hour. My husband is able to put her down (by watching a video on YouTube which is also bothering me) but cannot put her back to sleep after 30min. The topic of returning to work has consumed my mind since she was born, affecting my mental health and being present with my child. And now that Im here and made my decision I am so pissed off and resentful with myself. I dont know what to do. I will not wean yet.

I picked up a Clockwe M8 projector on amazon. I've got it connected to my Macbook Air M1.
It plays most videos on Youtube just fine. But there are a few where it completely blocks the sound. The video plays fine, but there's no sound. I talked to tech support and they just said it's a "copyright issue".
Why would 50 year old Disco TV shows be blocked, but almost nothing else?
And is there any workaround?

TLDR: nothing when F12 is pressed, insert key does not toggle anything. using 1.6.2 Amands and SPT 3.8.3

I don't want to haphazardly watch YouTube videos or read LinkedIn posts in an illogical order. But in an order that makes sense because the knowledge builds on each other. What topics would you recommend and in what order?

I’m an older parent with a middle schooler. I’m trying to help my daughter with a project and her teacher keeps sending me YouTube videos to watch. I’m torn about this because we try to keep our kids off YouTube whenever possible. When did it become normal for entire classes to have basically an curriculum from YouTube? ( this is a coding class). Is it budget cuts? Technology changing too fast? I’m not mad I’m just trying to understand.
