2024.05.21 15:04 AlbiCoins Enhancing Employee Wellbeing: Essential Strategies for Employers

Key Drivers of Employee Wellbeing

Employers aiming to create a more productive work environment often grapple with enhancing employee wellbeing. First, let's define what employee wellbeing entails. It goes beyond physical health, incorporating multiple dimensions essential for a fulfilling life. According to Gallup, the five core elements of wellbeing are career wellbeing, physical wellbeing, social wellbeing, financial wellbeing, and community wellbeing. Employers can significantly impact career, financial, and social wellbeing, thereby boosting overall employee satisfaction.

The Critical Importance of Employee Wellbeing

Why should employers prioritize employee wellbeing? Research reveals a strong positive link between employee wellbeing, productivity, and retention, along with a negative correlation with employee turnover. Higher wellbeing in the workplace also correlates with improved profitability at the business-unit level (Krekel, C., Ward, G., and De Neve, J.E., 2019). Additionally, improved social wellbeing strengthens community bonds, fostering better relationships among employees and enabling robust communication networks.

Effective Strategies to Boost Employee Wellbeing

Organizations can implement several strategies to enhance employee wellbeing, focusing on career wellbeing, financial wellbeing, and social wellbeing.

Career Wellbeing

Enhancing career wellbeing can be achieved through work redesign practices. These practices aim to boost employee psychological engagement by enriching the nature of their tasks. By modifying task dimensions within organizational contexts, work redesign practices significantly elevate career satisfaction (Grant, A.M., Christianson, M.K., and Price, R.H., 2007).

Financial Wellbeing

Financial stress is a primary source of employee anxiety, as highlighted by the PwC 2021 Employee Financial Well-being Survey cited by Forbes. Implementing incentive compensation can mitigate this stress. Incentive compensation practices, which include both monetary and non-monetary benefits, reward employees based on performance, thus improving financial wellbeing (Grant, A.M., Christianson, M.K., and Price, R.H., 2007).

Social Wellbeing

Meaningful relationships are crucial for life satisfaction and happiness. They serve as buffers during stressful times and significantly impact organizational performance in terms of absenteeism, presenteeism, work quality, and loyalty, according to Jen Fisher, co-author of "Work Better Together" and Chief Well-Being Officer for Deloitte. Team-building practices can enhance social wellbeing by fostering interpersonal relationships and workplace cohesion (Grant, A.M., Christianson, M.K., and Price, R.H., 2007).
One highly effective way to implement team-building practices is through AlbiCoins, our innovative platform that merges peer-to-peer recognition with corporate incentives and benefits. Employees earn special currency (coins) for completing specific tasks, which can be redeemed in the benefits cafeteria for rewards of their choice. These tasks include activities designed to enhance interpersonal communication and build a stronger employee community, such as team project assessments where projects are presented, evaluated, and rewarded by peers.

Conclusion

To elevate performance and strengthen community ties, employers must prioritize employee wellbeing. By adopting work redesign practices, incentive compensation strategies, and team-building activities, organizations can significantly improve their employees' overall wellbeing.

Hi!
My husband had an accident back in August 2020. This was that tiny patch we had in-between lockdowns in the UK. He was driving in his own lane, when other vehicle hit drivers side rear trying to switch lanes to avoid a van turning right and stopping in the lane. Insurance has already decided that this accident was fault of other driver.
Other driver initially wanted to repair outside of insurance. Then took 2 years for them to disclose the ID of the driver and hand over their dashcam footage which showed my husbands account of events were true - the other diver has initially tried to say someone else was driving and that he had moved to avoid an ambulance and that caused the accident... There was no ambulance.
Unfortunately the day of the accident, my husband is dislexic quite significantly. He tried to submit accident forms without my help (I was suffering badly from depression at the time so he was trying to lessen reliance on me during this time). And he ended up submitting claim not via his insurance but by a company on behalf. Top sponsor search on Google when he typed it in. Claim is submitted, we get courtesy car, and then no contact for 2 weeks. We then call and find out their cancelled the claim because we didn't reply to their email. It went to junk... They didn't even call us to tell us, just cancelled and left the courtesy car with us. So very strange!
This meant that our claim to the actual car insurance was 1 whole month later! From this date we had to pay excess for damage repair, and my husband did have a lot of pain in his shoulder. He had initially taken just 2 days off work (self employed double glazer) and the sort of man who works through pain, and also had no choice but to work as his last company went into liquidation that he subcontracted for (I ended up supporting all bills for several months) and he felt he couldn't take any time off.
Due to COVID rules, when we told them about his pain, he had to have physio and insurance dr - he didn't even think to book in GP as they were not doing in person appointments and didn't want to waste their time. His physio sessions were via zoom and he didn't actually see the insurance Dr until months after the accident when his injury was better. But he was still living in pain, just taking pain meds and sucking it up.
2 months after accident date he went to an ice hockey training session. He didn't do much, just skated and was mostly social to see the boys. And we did an escape room together literally the day before lockdown 2.0. which wasn't taxing, it was 1 room and clues were in places like opening a cupboard door or drawer, no height or hard to reach things.
We submitted a claim for whiplash for the initial injury and pain suffered. We did not stipulate any ongoing pain past 3 months because it has healed more and more as time went on and he did the physio exercises.
Other party had family members harass us online and message us, commenting we were frauds and criminals, on birthday posts for our own family and mother day posts. We had to file a police report and report to our insurance to ask them to stop. Which they did but one of them couldn't help but pop a message saying he was watching us every now and then.... Very creepy.
So the point we have been trying to make us that we have just had to crack on while my partner has been in pain, due to self employment. And it's taken nearly 4 years to get this claim to a court date because the other party has been dragging their feet! And only now have just submitted 'evidence' that we are fraudulently claiming whiplash because: not seen a Dr after the accident for basically 4/5 months (due to COVID and we did see the insurance physio and Dr for insurance after a time), he went to one hockey training session and one escape room.
Our legal team has advised now to try and drop it because the courts are now saying any claims from COVID era have no real proof of injury due to phone/zoom appointments. And if we go ahead and they say we have no case we will have to pay £££ legal fees.
Does anyone have any advice? We are happy to drop it, but we only wanted to claim for the initial injury and the 3 months he had to live in pain and still work because we had bills to pay. My business was also closed most of 2020 due to rules.
Thank you

2024.05.21 14:23 DevastatorBrand [TOMT] Gang member on 2 separate shows

I watched a ton of "gangland" type shows in the early 2000s so I can't be sure if it was Gangland or a documentary or a YouTube doc but there was a guy who was the figure head of a gang. They pulled out all types of guns on the sidewalk etc.
Then I watched a street racing/car type show and THERE HE WAS ! A member of the race team. Not the driver. Anyway, I can't remember the correlating shows and I'd like to revisit them.
Thank you for your time ! I hope this rings a bell with someone else !

Amazing what setting the race to start Wet can do for strategy.
We all started on Inters, but after that all but Norris and Verstappen, in 1st and 8th at that point went to Hards. Everyone else went to Softs, which ruined their races, as they then had to stop again, half going for softs, half for hards. Meanwhile Verstappen didn't stop again, climbing to 2nd. Then Norris pitted 8 laps from the end for softs, at a similar time to those soft, soft, runners taking their third set, thinking Verstappen would do the same, he did not. Leaving an 8 lap dash to make up 10 seconds to Verstappen and pass him. Which he managed on the final lap. In all that, Albon managed to finish 3rd. Poor Alonso went from 1st to 7th, all cause he went for Softs 3 times.
I, as Norris, Maybe should have stayed on the Hards, but still managed it.
Yes I'm still running 22.

2024.05.21 13:01 HeidiInWonderland The truth hurts. Who said the truth would set you free?

Written by both Heidi and Lita. Lita has to leave early for her internship so Heidi is posting this.
We had a very long, difficult, and important conversation with our mothers last night. We are posting this with their permission, hoping that it might help others like us.
It's hard for us to imagine any other 16-year-olds having a more wonderful year than we have had. How many people find their life partners at our young age? We trained our bodies, dove into our respective art forms, gained insight into our future careers, earned/saved a lot of money, made many friends, explored Buddhism, and joined two families into one.
But we were building a new family on a foundation of deceit and this is what had to change. Back to our conversation.
"We had led you to believe we met at school volleyball team practice back in September. We told you we discovered our soulmates and we were queer. From there we lived hard and well, became a family of six, and then everything else followed. We don't regret a second.
"We just left out one fact...we met and began our relationship one year earlier when we were in 9th grade. We had kept it secret from you. Sound familiar? It is like the story of Emma Nolan and Alyssa Greene in The Prom."
It is hard to describe the look in their eyes. We saw disbelief, shock, hurt, anger, and mostly a sense of betrayal.
Muma: How did you really meet?
Lita: Actually, we told you the story. In fact, we have been leaving clues all over the place kind of hoping we would be discovered.
Heidi: This goes back to September 2022. I was on the crosstown bus. I saw some boys get on. One stayed in the front and the others placed themselves in the aisle going down. The boy in the front grabbed a girl's phone and they passed it to each other. The boy at the end got the phone and walked out of the rear door. I had seen the entire thing and just followed him. He thought he had committed the perfect crime and I approached him. "I saw everything. I know your face, what you are wearing, and your sneakers. I know your friends. Give me the phone and I won't say a word." He did. I walked back to the bus and there was the girl with the bus driver and a couple of cops at the side of the bus. She was sobbing and they were trying to comfort her. I went up, told them what had happened, and gave her the phone back.
Mom: I remember the story. And you are saying that the girl you helped was Lita.
Muma: And the little heroine you told Pupa and me about was Heidi?
Lita: Yes. I was an absolute wreck, completely unconsolable. I felt violated and humiliated. The girl grabbed me by the arm and simply said "Come, let's sit down." She brought me to a cute ice cream restaurant she knew near Bloomingdale's. What's your favorite flavor? I said Plain Vanilla. What's yours? Chocolate. We looked at each other's skin and just had to laugh.
Heidi: I can't describe how I was feeling while we eating ice cream. Waves and waves and waves of emotions hit me.
Lita: All I could do was look Heidi in the eyes and hold her hand.
Mom: I remember that story very clearly.
Lita: We exchanged numbers and IG. Then came texts, calls, secret hookups, the first kiss, and the rest.
Heidi: It was like The King And I, "Hello Young Lovers."
Lita: It was High School Admissions time and I encouraged Heidi to audition for LaGuardia for the 10th grade.
Mom: So that was what that was all about?
Muma: But I don't understand why you felt a need to keep your relationship a secret for an entire year!
This was really the hardest part of the conversation. We talked about all the emotions we were experiencing. What, we are in love? We are lesbians? We are sneaking behind our parents' backs? We are watching lesbian porn and acting it out? What, I am with a black/white girl? All this shame at once and we couldn't figure a way out until Girls Volleyball. We even left some hints on this blog in case you read it.
Muma: What is most painful to me is that this was the time you needed your mothers the most and you went through the entire year all alone.
We are four strong woman. We were at a place far beyond "How dare you? This has to end. You are grounded. Scotland is off." There was thoughtful silence, long looks into each other's eyes, and then cuddling on the couch and watching The Good Doctor.
We all had the same thought. How are we going to tell Dad and Pupa?

Alright, y'all. I've thought more about my previous ground battle idea: Ground Battles Idea: Warthunder (reddit.com). If you spawn in an IFV, you can add additional crew members based on the vehicle's real-life specifications (Bradley, 2S38, PUMA, etc.). Here are some key points of this mechanic.
Mechanics I haven't hashed out but I would like your input:
There is more I can imagine but this a is a start

Uber just told me the pay any trip can be different from another trip No per minute, No per mile
I was chatting with out famous Uber dont care team. My question was simple. How our pay as driver is formed for each type of the trip per minute and per distance. The snwer was shocking to me. Now it turns out there is no such a thing. There os no per minute or per mile. At least for us to see. It can vary from trip to trip. Shocking. Amd when did this happen? How can it be that a person doesnt jnow how much his pay rate is? How the pay is formed?? Isnt this mindblowing

2024.05.21 10:26 Healthy-Emotion8945 The "Six Things We Learned...Swans Edition, HERE IT IS!"

The "Six Things We Learned...Swans Edition, HERE IT IS!"
1) Mature Swans fixing problems within the quarter Swans started in dicey circumstances with Carlton kicking the first 4 goals within 14 minutes of the game and being dominated at the centre bounce. Previous editions of the Swans could have easily been blown apart or slowly reduce their deficits quarter by quarter leading to a slog fest of a game. But this year is different and the Swans are a much more mature and confident team as a whole. Not only did the Swans stabilised the damage which kick started their turn over game, the midfield group began their own dominance in stoppages leading to the Swans scoring 3 goals within a space of 4 minutes. Whilst the Swans were still trailing at the end of the first quarter, the momentum had truly switched to Sydney showing how far the team has progressed.
2) Swans set the example in the 3rd (Premiership) quarter Much has been spoken about the Swans' ball use, speed and turnover game; however, it was their stoppage work in the 3rd quarter that completely blew Carlton apart. Sydney finished with an impressive 51 - 13 points from stoppages with their centre bounces produces 31 points compared to Carlton's 4. The Swans had a 10 minute patch where they completely blitzed through the Carlton midfield which included a classy finish by Wicksy and most importantly (DIRECTED TO THE SHAMEFUL VIC MEDIA REPORTING) he got his high fives; beautiful.
3) Jordan clamps and smashes, Cunningham gets the last laugh When [Sam Walsh]() kicked a goal in the first quarter he made sure Cunningham (who was playing on him at the time) knew about it. Sadly for Walsh, James Jordan ensured that was his only highlight of the night, curtailing his influence whilst Jordan still played an important role in in the Swans attack and kicking a goal himself. That's three weeks in a row where Jordan has successfully negated the opposition player and blanked them out of the game; Jordan's versatility to play multiple positions makes him an A grade tagger and the best distributors or drivers of offence for any team in the competition better be aware of James Jordan! Also, Cunningham admitted in a post game interview he got lost in transition from defence and found himself up forward kicking a goal and that's just so beautiful to hear.
4) Swans midfield a class above The Swans midfield is well known for its ability to score goals, their speed through general play, foot skills and frantic pressure; however, on Friday night, the midfield evolved once again through their contested work through stoppages with timely blocks for team mates which opened up space for others to charge through. By the mid point of the third quarter the Swans were not only dominating the Carlton line up, they were toying with them (i.e. Warner's run through the corridor taking cheeking peaks behind him and smiling - he had his own Lewis Jetta moment). Special mention for Rowbottom's efforts with 16 tackles overall and breaking through a congestion of Carlton players to kick a goal.
5) The rising stock value of Hayward and Florent Both players were recruited in the 2016 draft and both are having an outstanding start to the season with Hayward re-discovering his goal kicking form (he is currently 20.7 for the year) and Florent showing incredible composure to dance his way through congestion from defence and providing plenty of run and carry during an attacking play. A special mention also for Florent - he is actually the most impactful interceptor amongst the Swans (better than Blakey) all according to champion data.
6) The Swans are the number 1 attack and defence team in the competition When certain groups doubt Sydney's credentials for the premiership, its always about the forward line or the defence or basically anything they can use to say why we won't win...Well, the Swans have scored the most and have conceded the least points of any teams and these results have continued to improve after each round. Simple as that, nothing else to add - Why wouldn't you back the best team in the comp to win?

2024.05.21 09:11 Unlikely_Fan6255 I'm breaking my "no-preorder" premise to keep this series alive.

Well, i usually don't pre order things and i said to myself, i'm not getting this game this year, since i was hugely underwhelmed by 23.
But, this year looks great, new graphics, prettier tracks, updated drivers(please update pictures), pit adjustment, morality, myTeam..well the biggest thing for me.
The game looks great, it still has a lot of potential a lot of things that can be done. But this is a good step. I want this series to thrive, so i guess i have to buy.
Edit: Especially after i paid AAA price for 23.

2024.05.21 08:00 H1tgurl RAZER LAPTOP AND SERVICE NIGHTMARE

I bought my Razer Blade 15 Advanced in 2021, after using my Alienware 15 for 7 years (6 solid years of architecture school + 1 year work with zero problems!)
Specs: i7-10875H, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, RTX 3070
Seemed fine for the first 2 years, until I noticed that my trackpad suddenly stopped working. I didn't think much of it, I use a mouse most of the time anyway, but I later realized that there was a battery bloat. So I contacted Razer, and in Singapore there's no service center that you can walk into, no phone number I can call so it was multiple emails back and forth. Finally I managed to arrange for them to come pick it up, assess the damage and send it back to me. The repair cost about 300 in total, and only 90 days warranty post repair. I had to back up all my files and reinstall all my programs etc post repair because they completely wipe your computer when you send it in, "for privacy".
Fast forward over a week, I get my laptop back. Not sure why it took so long, I had a friend replace the battery on her computer, they sent someone over and it was done on the spot. Anyway I reinstalled all my programs, downloaded my files. I was in a meeting the next day when I noticed that the bottom part of my screen started glitching. I had my laptop plugged into an external monitor and the glitch did not appear on the monitor so I thought it was just because of the hdmi or something, connection problem maybe? Didn't think much of it as it came and went. Next day I was working again and suddenly the whole screen shut off, but my laptop was still on, keyboards lights were also still on. I had unsaved files that I was working on! I tried closing my laptop and open it again to put it to sleep so I wouldn't lose my programs, but that didn't get the screen back. So I had to force restart then the screen came back on. Awhile later it happened again, WHILE I was in discussions with my bosses. Had to restart my computer and waste everyone's time. It kept recurring until I just decided to plug my laptop into a monitor and used it as a screen mirror instead of restarting my computer. It was a frustrating day. I emailed razer and telling them what happened.
The next day it happened 3 times within the span of 4 hours that day, twice while I was in meetings, so naturally I contacted razer again, even sent them videos of when it happened and how the laptop was still on but the screen blacked out. They asked if my laptop was updated or if I my driver was outdated etc but no, I h ad just done a windows update. This kept happening on and off, several times while I was in meetings, lost a lot of work and wasted a lot of my time, not to mention the frustration! I requested if they could send a technician to check it out instead of me having to send my laptop in again (and have my computer wiped again) but they said they couldn't. They told me that they could seek permission for me to send my laptop in without my SSD and sent me videos on how I can remove it MYSELF. But in the videos it warns that 'modifications' will void any warranty. I'm not an expert how am I supposed to open my laptop up myself??? And obviously this will become an issue in the future if I can't install it properly - I have zero computer modification experience or knowledge. I decided to think on this for awhile, but then they emailed me saying if I don't reply within 48 hours they will assume the issue has been resolved and close my case. So reluctantly I agreed to send my laptop in again under standard procedure, meaning everything will have to be reinstalled.
They told me that and I quote "in light of the fact that this issue has arisen subsequent to a recent repair, we will waive any fees associated with this service". They sent me what they call a RMA, and this time they did not charge me the pick up and diagnostic fee ($99). I agreed, accepted the terms and arranged for the pick up.
However, on the morning of the pick up, someone from Razer emails me again, saying "Good day! My humble apologies for any inconvenience caused. I wanted to inform you that we have reviewed your case and consulted with our repair team. It appears that the current issue with your device is not related to the previous battery replacement. Instead, you are experiencing screen flickering. In this case, we will need to proceed with a repair service that will be under chargeable process." What rubbish, good day???
Shocked, I emailed them back saying that it's ridiculous how do they even know its not related without checking? I never had this problem before, it started right after I got my laptop back from the razer repair center... and you're going back on your word for whatever 90 day warranty and this RMA that I already processed... and you're only notifying me of this the morning of my laptop pick up?
"Please let us know if you would like to move forward with the repair" - Honestly, backed into a corner now. How can I trust them? If I argue and refuse to pay, what if they mess my laptop up more or just take it in and not do anything? Or they can just come up with some reason why it's not related to my battery replacement and make me pay anyway? How would I know whether this is the truth or not? This is even more frustrating because I can't call to speak to anyone, they don't reply emails promptly even during office hours, and your case is not managed by just one person. So its multiple help desk people not one person seeing your problem through from start to end.
Just felt the need to share this with anyone considering getting a razer laptop, this is still an ongoing issue that I'm hoping to resolve. Honestly, I only found out about this battery bloat issue after I bought it but I didn't think it'll happen to me. The laptop looks good and runs well until it doesn't... Then you're stuck dealing with horrible service and it's just not worth the trouble and headspace. Also, the laptops run REALLY hot, its hard to use if you're not in an aircon environment or using an external keyboard. Not to mention they are expensive! I'd expect better for paying so much... It's really not worth it and I really regret buying my razer blade.
UPDATE: Tried posting this to the official razer community but they deleted my post...
