2024.05.21 09:09 ludaman14 Fenix 7Pro Solar vs FR 965. Overkill?

Hi all! I'm a 32 year old male and about to enter a fitness journey. For years I've been recommended to do so because I suffer from anxiety and depression long before COVID and then WFH has taken its toll on me over the last few years as I'm practically always home alone. I have finally decided it's time to make a change.
I'm in horrible shape. I have an average body type but zero stamina and low strength. My plan is honestly to just start going to the gym. My brother goes almost daily and I figure I'd join him. Naturally, to begin I'll be doing basic exercises like lifting some weights and running on a treadmill. I'm not sure how much I'd venture out from that and in how long.
I decided to get a fitness watch to start the journey. However, I'm conflicted between the Fenix 7 Pro Solar or FR 965. I love the way the screen looks on the 965 but I did see that it's likely prone to scratches. This is currently at full price at $599. The basic Fenix 7 Pro Solar , though, seems a lot more durable, has both touch and buttons, and is currently on sale for the same price of the 965. The biggest draw for me is that flashlight.
Bonus, I'm also debating about the Instinct 2X Solar. It has a GShock vibe to it and that handy flashlight. Also, obviously, it's cheaper. I would like to go for a higher tiered watch if it makes sense to do that but if I wouldn't lose many of the newer features then perhaps I should go this route

FR30z my experience and thoughts after 3 months of usage.
I figured I would post what my thoughts are on the reebok FR30z since there really aren't that many Quality reviews available online about it.
Right so let’s dig in.
Few months back I was in the market for a new treadmill.
After much research I decided to get the reebok FR30z mainly because of how stable it felt, the wide running deck, low price tag and previous experience running on reebok treadmills. The treadmill comes in a box and requires assembly. The box is massive. It weighs about 95KG. If you plan on ordering, one make sure to ask the delivery guys to put the box in the room where you plan to assemble it.
The box contained all the treadmill parts, The BT Dongle, tools required for assembly, Silicone lubricant and two manuals one for assembly plus troubleshooting and one for general use and maintenance.
Assembly took me about 45 minutes. I followed the instruction video on the RFE YouTube channel which can be found here:
https://youtu.be/zmySczfM0hw?si=GY6K1-my3-7BIFnT
Once assembled I applied the provided silicone oil as per the instruction manual.
It's been 3 months and we have logged about 810km on the treadmill between my wife and I. So far we have not experienced any issues with the treadmill whatsoever.

What kind of distance do I run on the treadmill?

Continues HP - 2.0HP
Peak HP - 4.0HP
Zwift.

Treadmill service recommendation to be done every 300km's. I do however apply a little bit of treadmill oil around the 150km mark and again at the 300km mark because we use the treadmill very often.
tightening and centering the belt is very straight forward as is with any other treadmill. RFE has a video on their web page on how to do this.

Treadmill is manufactured Somewhere in Europe but underlying parts are mostly from China as can be seen in the pics.
I will update this post again once we exceed the 1500km mark.

2024.05.20 12:19 sclnd Just finished training block and race

Hi,
Just finished my first ~16 week block and thought I'd post some thoughts on using Runna during this time (paired with Apple Watch Ultra).
Overall I think it's worth the annual price - but there's lots I'd like to see in the future which don't feel difficult to implement. Most of what seems missing for me would be there if I had a garmin, but it seems a shame to have to change from my AWU when it seems like a software thing. I don't want/expect runna to track body/health metrics to replace what apps like Superset(Bevel)/Athlytic do - but for running performance specifically I think there's a few things that could be added.

2024.05.19 13:47 Office-Scary "Work hard, put money in your 401k, and you'll retire comfortably some day too" 🙄

I don't tend to be a "generationalist", but it only takes a few charts to realize the baby boomers were born in a time with most of the benefits and were able to push the bulk of the problems off to the next generations. https://wtfhappenedin1971.com/ may be a bit outdated, but it shows the slow and steady decline of living standards for the majority of us blue and white collar workers and I'm sure if it showed after 2020, it would he accelerated on most of those metrics. We have all been put on a treadmill running faster and faster just to keep up. The ones starting out are finding it harder and harder to get ahead, and the only ones benefitting from this monetary system are the ones holding assets that are being inflated as fast as prices are increasing on everything else (food, energy, etc). We've all been handed over to a system designed to not only keep us poor, but slowly dissolve the wealth the older generations accumulated. It's a giant debt trap, and it will try to keep you on that treadmill until the day you die. NO better than serfs. Sure, we have our fancy peasant restaurants and chain stores, but it's modern day serfdom. Many well off individuals in the older retirement ages are completely disconnected from just how bad it has gotten. This sub is a light on that and why I decided to post this here. It's going to fall on the generations that will have to struggle with what has been left behind on our shoulders to figure out how the generational inequality became so bad. The answer is the money. Plain and simple. Fiat currency allows our government to spend as much as they want allowing them to print what they need to cover entitlements they simply have no reserves for. If you want to fix a completely broken system, fix the money. If a well off retired individual has a million dollars saved, and it is sitting in bonds, they are making 50k right now (minus taxes) to do absolutely nothing. That interest payment is coming from taxes and the rest not covered by taxes is coming directly from dollars made out of thin air. Idk about you, but considering I work my ass off for a little over that really pisses me off. People ignored the monetary system long enough because many don't have the time to learn how it works in their busy lives. Now I see the frustration mounting especially because of housing. I know many are looking for answers. Once you understand what our "money" is, it all starts to make alot of sense. It's the root of this problem. It's not red or blue, black or white, male or female. It's the central banking system vs all of us.

2024.05.18 23:15 Aggressive_Ant4665 Ifit capable treadmill suggestions

I really like ifit and already have a subscription to it. So I want to keep that for a treadmil. Was going to get Nordic track, saw people complaining, looked at some other brands, but still saw bad reviews. Would love to get a matrix but it’s double the price. Is Nordic track really that bad?? Is it really worth paying twice as much for a matrix ?
I do a 5k daily (walking or jogging) but would like to do longer jogs.

2024.05.18 13:17 Girlfriendphd Don't message me if I put you over max caps

I'm just gonna laugh at you.
We're given 2 camps. Use one for no vending. Then it's a quick switch until you're able to drain some caps.
Seriously, do we walk up yard or garage sales like "hello! Are you currently near the max amount of cash you can carry? I'd like to buy this treadmill!"
Which is exactly why I'm not messaging you before I make purchases. If you have your vendor out I'm taking the assumption that you have the ability to hold 35k+ caps if your stuff is priced at 3500-5000 caps.
Edit: if you're on Xbox... drop your gamertag I guess. Maybe I'll swing by and buy some schtuff.

2024.05.18 02:40 BumblebeeHelpful3655 Avoid 900Factory For Housing

Wanted to post on google but apparently it was too long, so I posted it here to still share:
To anyone considering living at the Factory, DON’T. I beg you to please live anywhere else. There are so many 1 star reviews on google for a reason. Not only does this place rip you off with insane prices and fees, but they don’t actually use any of the money on the residents. The building is falling apart, and upper management (not on site) does not care.
Almost everything, everywhere is broken. Most people I knew had a broken washer or dryer, numerous windows leaked (if you could even seen through them, mine had a layer of mold growth inside it), the roofs on both buildings had bad leaks to the point that whenever it rained water would drip in the hallways (and in our apartment by the windows), the elevator in the B building broke constantly, and most of the exterior doors didn’t lock properly. Almost all of the apartments have electrical issues (I was shown electrical connections by maintenance that had caught fire), and I was told the property essentially forced some residents to sign NDAs over maintenance issues. Additionally, while I was living there all of the fire extinguishers were expired and/or depleted, and the fire department told me that the buildings didn’t even meet fire code. The whole place seemed to be run by one maintenance guy who was doing his best to hold everything together with nothing.
But it still gets worse. Of the “amenities” they offer: the sky deck is constantly locked due to broken tiles from a collapsing roof. Only half the hot tub works and it is always filled with non-residents playing music super late at night (so complaining to management does nothing), the BBQ never has gas, only one of the fire pits works, and the “high-speed” wifi with only one ethernet port per apartment available to residents always fails when you need it most. In the gym, be prepared to meet a hotel gym combined with broken equipment (I think they are down to one treadmill upstairs now?), and make sure to increase your car insurance before living here because driving through the parking garage is asking to get your car hit by someone else. Or broken into as cameras don’t cover most of it. Or booted with a $75 fee because you accidentally parked in an obscured “staff only” spot with poor signage. It’s even better when you have a guest come and visit because they should just plan on getting booted. The street parking is filled with residents who don’t want to pay the insane $75/month fee so there is no parking for guests anywhere.
Going into the apartments isn’t much better. Expect the cheapest furniture this place can buy in bulk with foam mattresses that have had a questionable history, the most uncomfortable chairs I have ever used, sofas that look like they have been through a lifetime of abuse, closets that don’t even have a door, and tables that dissolve under the use of cleaning products. Even the walls are cheap with so little insulation you can hear every conversation from the apartment next to you. Which isn’t surprising given that the “design” of the property is “unfinished” meaning concrete floors and missing ceilings with pipes bolted to them running all over. Also expect to move into an apartment that hasn’t been cleaned, but that you will definitely be fined for moving out of if you leave it in the same condition. Not that it matters anyways because your security deposit is basically a donation to the property unless other residents get a lawyer to force them to cough up your money.
This place can’t even do the bare minimum of paying utilities and contractors. In my time here the utilities almost got shut off due to the factory not paying for them (despite the fact the residents pay many times the real cost) and most contractors avoid it due to a history of not being paid.
Every few years they fire/force the staff to quit, bring in new people, and give the property money, making the old staff the scapegoats to the residents. Just for the cycle to happen again once everyone has been locked into a year long lease with no way to get out. There is a reason everyone who lives here tries to sell their lease with no buyers.
Again, I beg you to please read all of the one star reviews before moving here, and consider the fact that most of the 5 stars conveniently have either no text or a generic response.

2024.05.17 22:53 LZeke42 Advice appreciated

So, I’ve suffered, in total, three brain aneurysms, three brain bleeds, a subarachnoid hemorrhage/hemorrhagic stroke (a stroke for those who haven’t decided to go into the medical field) have a crapload of mental health disorders in anxiety, depression, major depressive disorder, adjustment disorder with anxious and depressed mood, hallucinations, and psychosis along with all of my many more physical injuries, had a MAJOR pain pump and catheter replacement surgery in which I stayed overnight and came back again because I got the Flu, and have been dealing with this toxic coworker for over half a year by now. I don’t respond well to confrontation on things I’m doing wrong because I genuinely have a loving and caring servant’s heart, but she just straight up walked up to me uninvitedly and criticized something I did wrong even though I was never even told that in the first place, so, in response, I maintained my outward composure (which I’m very good at) and, out of genuine care and concern for her, recommended she see a medical professional because I could sense a possible diagnosis of anxiety which I have and can completely relate to. My mind was running at literally a million miles an hour, so I escaped upstairs to do some cleaning which I’m not even cleared to do yet and couldn’t even clean a treadmill because I was so exhausted, and afterwards I decided to go back and put the cleaning supplies away, in which her husband was called over to come intimidate, mentally harass, and make me mentally feel distraught which is a crime in Florida where I live, so I then headed back downstairs because of my mental, physical, and emotional exhaustion to work the scan desk for 30 minutes until my ride came to take me home… I’m still suffering from every aspect I just mentioned three weeks later, especially those voices screaming at me telling me I’m a worthless price of shit, and honestly feel obligated to press charges against the lady’s husband, but don’t want to make their situation even more difficult as it already is. Does anybody think they can help offer their personal insight and opinions? Thank y’all SO MUCH!!!

2024.05.17 17:35 REALCellWaters Ideas Of Reference, Delusion, Gym

How many people often get ideas of reference delusion and you think everything is focused on you? So I'll go to the gym and I'll think people at the gym are going there because of me. And they know something. They know some hidden reality about me that they're keeping secret from me.
They'll do something like scratch their face with their middle finger. I basically think they're telling me through ideas of reference and predicate logic that the HIV scare was premeditated and they metaphorically dropped me from the rafters like Owen Hart. Somebody else will be rubbing their eyes. I'm thinking: are they crying because it wasn't supposed to get this bad?
Then I start to get angry from getting all these ideas of reference. I start to say at the gym: "I'm not bluffing", "I'm dead serious", "I'm not kidding", "you have no idea - I'm dead serious." And the people all around me are probably looking over at me like: what the hell is going on with this guy? Basically, I'm having a schizoaffective disorder episode.
I think the people all around me are referencing me by rubbing their face with the middle finger, or rubbing their eyes, or laughing. I think everything is a reference to me. Someone will say "crazy" unrelated to me. I'll think it's referencing me. Then I'll start blurting out things at the gym like: "these people have no idea. They should be scared of me." And the people at the gym are looking at me like: what the hell is this guy doing? He's freaking out!
I don't do this all the time. Just once in a while I'll have a schizoaffective disorder episode at the gym. I need to try to control my adrenaline at the gym. Try not to send so many OCD text messages. And try not to get so emotional.
Obviously, when you workout on the treadmill it's good for physical fitness but it gets my blood going haywire, my brain goes haywire, and it gets my adrenaline pumping. I'll get these ideas of reference and I'll blurt something out that might be slightly inappropriate. I don't want my gym membership revoked because Planet Fitness is reasonably priced and I don't want to lose my membership. So just calm down and don't freak out - realize I'm delusional.

2024.05.16 21:50 dsreis31 Peloton app compatible treads

Hey all,
Wife and I are looking for a treadmill in the $2500 price point that has that FTMS Bluetooth connectivity with the peloton app. I really care about the metrics and would like that. Does anyone have a comprehensive list of treads that work with the peloton app? I know the horizon lineup does and I was looking at the horizon 7.8 but would like to explore more options.
Thanks in advance.
