I like to pull our dandelions with a common weed puller tool but I find that no matter how much I wiggle around and try to loosen the plant before pulling I always break the tap root as the weeds on our lawn are VERY well established.
I did go and buy a bottle of selective herbicide for the first time.. im not really keen on going wild with it but I had an idea for application that I haven't been able to find any information on while scouring the net.
Can I pull a dandelion and then spray the herbicide directly on the newly broken tap root? Just one little shot right on the broken open place so the weed killer goes straight into the source? Or does it only work by going on the leaves?

For those of you out there that have tried the standard treatment of permethrin once for 8-12 hours overnight then once again the following week 8-12 hours and it failed- for me the difference that worked at made it go away was length of application.
I also switched to spinosad and applied for much longer. Apply Friday night and leave on all weekend, if you have enough or are able to, apply several times over during that weekend and don’t shower in between. It seems like the length of application made the biggest for me and it went away. Hope this helps. I also did ivermectin at the same time.

I am currently recruiting for my next PBP 5E game that is going to be set in my homebrew world of Eyari. I have a baseline idea for a good story arc, but I am always the type that will make adjustments to it prior to the start of the game to make it more fun for my players. I am looking for 5-6 like minded individuals that are willing to take on this adventure. Eyari is a vast land with varying areas to explore with many different histories and cultures. All races from the players handbook are allowed, if you choose to want to play a race from a different book whether that be a WOTC published book or 3rd party, please check with me to see if that race exists in Eyari in some capacity.
A little about myself.
-Early 30's business Owner
-EST Time Zone
-I have been playing D&D since 3.5 and pbp games for almost as long as that.
-One of my favorite things to do is create a fun and engaging story with others.
I am expecting at minimum one post per day from each player, and if you are going to be away and not able to post for more than one day I fully expect you to give me a heads up, barring emergency circumstances. And I will do everything in my power to return the favor for my players.
In terms of classes, all classes will be allowed that are WOTC made, and 3rd party classes/subclasses are to be discussed.
Above you will find the google form I will be using to gather applications and weed out players! I will leave the application open for a few days prior to closing it and messaging the individuals I want to hear more from on Discord. Above all else, I am looking to create a new group of players that all get along and we can all have a fun time with this campaign!

- Character stats will be done by point buy format.
- Characters will start at level 3

Congrats on choosing and making it into NUS Business School! I previously wrote here: https://www.reddit.com/SGExams/comments/118r7cg/all_about_studying_business_in_nussmuntu/ on what are some factors when considering between NUS, SMU and NTU business school. For better or worse, you'll be stuck here for the next 4 years so here's some broad advice on making the best out of it.
1. Put in effort to draft out your own Study Plan; Future you will thank you
What is a study plan? Essentially, it's an outline on what modules you'll be taking throughout your 4 years in University. Especially for a business student, a study plan should go beyond "what majospecialization/double majominor". Yes, figuring what major (or majors) that you want to eventually take is the first step. The next step is also considering whether you intend to take a gap semester (i.e. leave-of-absence) to do internships (which is becoming increasingly more common place; maybe not 1 gap sem but possibly even 2!). The unfortunate truth is that many biz student realize late in Year 2/3 that they might not be as competitive as their peers and usually then seek out LOA internships and end up delaying their graduation (whether its a good or bad thing is debatable). Besides gap semesters for internships, there are student who do credit bearing internships (which counts for some credits/MCs) or even do a part-time internship during the semester while studying (Do modules on Mon and Tues, FT work of Wed, Thurs, Fri). Not every student get's their desired summer internships, and often student have to compensate by applying for Off-Cycle LOA internships.
In your study plan, you would also have to take into consideration possibly going on overseas semester exchange or even the 6M to 1 Year long NOC program if you're interested! Overloading more modules earlier in your Uni (Y1 and Y2) gives you more flexibility to adapt to changes in the future. Of course, you need to gauge yourself whether you're able to cope with the workload. (Overloading in earlier sems, mean being more free in later sems to do internships/explore other modules or minors).
Additionally, most higher-level modules have pre-requisites (mostly ACC1701). If you delay taking these pre-requisite modules, your whole study plan can be delayed by a semester. My advice is to take ACC1701 (and consequently FIN2704) earlier rather than later, because these two mods open up the other majors/specializations available to you. You'll also figure out whether you'll want to to take the finance major after taking these two modules.
5. Figure out early whether you prefer Excel or Power Point.
The corporate world only runs on two applications, Excel and Power Point. Dabble in both, figure out early which application you prefer more and find a relevant internship/role/job that you enjoy decently that uses one over the other. Truly, Excel and PPT are the only takeaways when you leave the university. Great consultants are adept at handling PPT, navigating through them quickly with many templates in their desktops. Finance peeps do a little more excel work and have to do them well, fast and creatively. Even at the end of uni, there are still many students who can't use excel proficiently at a high level.
6. Internship Hell is real for those who care
Internship application period in itself can be a full-time commitment (for those that care). When internship applications open, you can be going through your own interview prep, doing several recorded interviews, applying to new internships etc. Many moving parts to juggle and a lot of ground work to be done. From preparing for interview questions, writing cover letters, tailoring your CV etc alot of the hell you experience in Biz school actually comes outside of academics contrary to popular belief (as Jean-Paul puts it, "hell is other people", bad group mates im looking at you). For those applying to more technical roles, you might also need to prep extra for technical questions e.g. IB 400 questions, consulting cases, market sizing brain teasers etc.
7. Not so much of an advice, but rather a plea from me to you
I really hope business students can be more code literate and savvy i.e. being able to read (and to a lesser extent implement) coding e.g. python or SQL. ~90% of the biz population are code illiterate (having only taken just 1 "coding module"). In a normal corporate workplace, you'll never have to code. But being able to think computationally, knowing the steps you can take to automate your task, time and workflow brings you more benefits than you can imagine when most corporate work that people do are typically administrative.
In conclusion, do your best in biz school. I think effort correlates strongly to how well you do here. You don't need to be smart (it makes life easier) but with enough forward thinking and future planning, you'll be able to grow through the next 4 years (and hopefully be worth it).

There are a ton of posts on here about how resume gaps affect MBA admissions but strangely enough I couldn't find many on illness related employment gaps. My situation is this: graduated with an MS, worked for 3.5 years, got very sick and was out of the workforce for half a year, now working again since another half a year and planning to apply for an MBA next year.
How much will this affect my application and is there really a need to spin this into some sort of story regarding my personal and career development? Because it wasn't, I almost died and that period of my life is a black hole that frankly I don't feel comfortable even discussing in depth with admissions, my only accomplishment during that time was not dying. Will it sink my application if I just leave it at that or are they going to ask what why and how? Should I get more work experience to compensate? And will business schools demand proof of my story (I'm not even sure what that would look like, medical bills?)

I dont have it bad like some but I have it mild or moderate all of the time. Acyclovir is not all that effective for me but it is very very cheap, especially the 400mg tabs. I got to thinking that we know the body clears that drug out quite quickly. But what if some of us clear it out quicker then others? What if you take it every eight hours but the body clears it after 4, leaving the virus to multiply uninterrupted for the next four?
As a test I cut my 400mg pills in half (not the coated ones) and took 200 mg every four hours instead. I even woke up in the night to take one. The reaction was dramatic.
I have hsv2 around my eyes. While it is super mild in itself, my body creates an allergic reaction to the presence of the viral antigen so I'm hyper aware of my viral load at any given moment. Like bad hayfever.
This is by far the best it has been in months. We all know the virus always comes and goes so it may just be a coincidence. But I'm going to keep doing it because it makes logical sense and seems to work really well for now.
I might even try 100mg every two hours out of interest.

I (21 YO M) had to break up a friendship group I had been in since the start of college education because one of them was being toxic.
Just 3 weeks ago friend A started an argument trying to jobsplain to me how easy my job is that she has never done. I work in a very demanding contact centre work taking call after call after call non stop. She claims all I do is "sit on your a*s all day". I ended up leaving the call I was in with her.
A week later she is asking me what I was doing in work and I simply responded with "working through emails". She said "nice for some" ( when she says that she's complaining).
I said to her why is she complaining she isn't even working. Without hesitation she trys to jobsplain again to me how "easy" my job is. I proved her point numerous times. I vented to some of my work colleagues who were not happy with her comments and even my manager was not pleased.
My manager suggested giving friend A a job application if anything opened in the company. So I did. Friend A immediately turned it down and said "no I like my job" (the very same job that gives her no hours). I told her there was no harm in having a second job and that she doesn't do anything anyway.
After proving my point a number of times she still tries to enforce the fact that I am wrong. When she could not win her own argument she started she decided to drag friend B and C and turn them against me with friend B cussing me out.
I said to friend B and C they should not be part of this argument and would be best they stay out of it. After a whole day I ended up muting all of the group. They kept trying to talk to me to resolve this issue. I said to friend B that I had nothing against him and Friend C but I just needed some space to burn off all this anger.
Fast forward a week later and I speak to friend A again to patch things up. I said we could patch things up if she did not bring this up again. She did not answer that question and just asked me why I was talking to her again. After speaking to her for about an hour she insisted that I apologise to her because she started the argument.
I left her on silent for 3 days after she kept telling me she was paranoid someone was going to m***r her because she stupidly went on the dark web (this had been a conversation every day for the past couple months). I told her she needed to get help and speak to a therapist and didn't even bother listening to what I said and kept going on everyday.
I got fed up of her shenanigans and emailed her to say that we were done because I could no longer handle her pointing and blaming me for everything that happens, chatting s**t about me behind my back and turning people against me when she can't win her own argument. She said I was childish as she would predictably say. I had enough of her pushing me around like this and it had been the last straw

I guess I am making this to rant. Life has been quite hard recently, and I don’t have much time to write. I have been thinking about the way I feel about her, and I feel like I can split it into four categories that interact with each other in strange ways.
Romantic attraction (?) To put it bluntly, I like her. But this attraction does not feel like what it should be. No “butterflies in the stomach”. But I notice her. No nervousness. No stumbling over words. I am not shy; on the contrary, I feel as stable talking to her as I am with any other classmate, provided that we are talking about something academic. But she’s cute. I can’t help but glance every once in a while. I don’t know her very well, despite knowing her for two and a half years. Despite this, I can’t avoid the urge to care about her. It is hard to explain much more without putting it in some more context.
Accomplishment Envy This is, unfortunately, a fairly overpowering theme. I am not a particularly driven person. Even though I know I am not very accomplished, I lack the motivation to push myself to do things. This has become a large problem in my relations with parents, especially with college applications peeking around the corner. My parents worry, especially my dad. He might ask me something like “[Name of acquaintance] just won this award. [Name of acquaintance] just got a high ranking in this competition. [Name of acquaintance] is starting a tutoring service, and she even got grants. How about you? What’s your plan?” He would say how tired he is of pushing me to do things, begging me to wake up to the fact that I don’t have much time left, pleading for me to spend more time on academics, on volunteering, on developing myself so that I don’t look like a fool on my college apps.
So where does she fit into all of this? She is an unavoidable example of what I am not. The contrast is stark. She has a great degree of self-control, self-fulfillment, and identity. She does good things, and is surrounded by friends who care about her. She is her own person, with her own drives and purposes, her own established and developing skillset. I don’t know what kind of background she is from, or what her past is like, but I feel that she will rise above the negatives, utilize the positives to the fullest, and become valuable to herself and people around her. I am a puppet of my parents, and I am starting to fail even there. Yes, I have been pushed into experiences, and yes, I have gained my own skills through those experiences. Yes, I have good intuition when playing games and thinking through the things I am good at, and yes, I like being helpful, especially when explaining things to my peers. I am known to be a good strategist, with good intuition and a willingness to help newcomers, in the gaming group I am in. But as my dad has drilled into me, week after week, month after month: Why can’t I do something productive? What is my plan? Seriously, what will I do with my life?
I understand, there are plenty of other driven people around me. I am aware that I have sampling bias, growing up with immigrant parents who value education and have experienced the effects first-hand, surrounded by people selected with established friend groups who push each other to do better. But the difference here is that she is unavoidable. The same attraction that makes me want to care about her also makes me notice all the things she can do. Studying for something? Talking with friends? Meeting new people? Working on things? Discussing the things she wants to do? Even simple things like asking a question? These things come naturally to her, just as they do to everyone else, and I wish I could say the same myself.
And this is where things start getting complicated.
I understand that what I have been saying makes it sound like I hate the feeling of being envious of her. But for some reason, it isn’t all bad. I get a certain comfort in thinking about her, and this seems to conflate itself with my preexisting attraction. I don’t know if I adore her character traits but am influenced by my existing problems, or I envy her character traits but am influenced by attraction. Two emotions I associate with “positive” and “negative” seemingly feel similar. I don’t know if what I feel counts as romantic attraction anymore; maybe it is just a habit that I haven’t grown out of. And that’s not all.
Curiosity and urge for human connection. I am aware that I may be idealizing her. She is flawed like any of us, but I cannot list any flaws off the top of my head. In combination with social isolation and romantic interest (?), I find myself wanting to get to know her better. I already know that she will never be interested in me in the way I am to her, but I want to learn how it feels to have someone actively approach me in conversation and talk about things.
The only times I have talked to her outside of an academic setting are in very rare cases, in the context of mental health and emotions — she feels like someone I can trust. But these are isolated incidents, and I know that she’s not responsible for me, that she has her own things to deal with. What’s stopping me from just… talking to her more? Talking about other subjects? Lack of motivation plays a big role, yes, but my primary issue is fearing how she thinks of me.
Fear of creepiness. I don’t know where this stems from. Perhaps I internalized something from childhood. Perhaps it is my lack of positive self-image, or a misunderstanding of my place among everyone else, or some combination of these, or something else. But I am averse to approaching girls in non-academic settings, fearing that I make them uncomfortable.
This ties many things together. It goes without saying that this stops me from talking to her as much as I would otherwise, but it is also why I try to suppress many of the other things I feel. I would not tell her most of what I say here, since I know that it would make her either avoid me or feel obligated to talk to me. I feel guilty for caring about her as much as I want to; she doesn’t need my attention, but I still find myself asking her if she’s alright when she seems tired.
I guess I’ll stop here for now, though I’m sure I am missing some nuances that I will remember later. In summary: I think I like her, in a way that I associate with romantic attraction. I also envy her — fuelled by my own probelms — in a strange way that mixes in with how I feel, creating a strange combination that makes me question whether or not I am actually feeling attraction. I seek to know her better, and feel that this might be possible; she is still willing to talk to me, albeit passively. Finally, I fear the way she may think of me.

Judge Melville ruled that the jury would be unable to hear the testimonies of CNN talk show host Larry King & publisher Michael Viner as impeachment material against civil attorney Larry Feldman. Melville's ruling effectively handicapped the ability of Jackson's defense team to counter testimony offered by Feldman under oath. Feldman represented Gavin Arvizo some time between March 2003 and June 2004. The attorney also represented Jordan Chandler, the first boy who brought accusations against Jackson in 1993 During direct examination on 4/1/05, DA Thomas Sneddon used Feldman to drive home the notion that the accusing family was not out for money, as the defense contends. Feldman stated that the family was not seeking to file a lawsuit, and that he had never been asked to file a suit against Jackson on behalf of the family. On cross-examination, lead defense attorney Thomas Mesereau attempted to undermine Feldman's credibility by asking him about a conversation that allegedly transpired between himself, King, and Viner. Feldman repeatedly denied ever meeting with King and Viner at an eatery in Beverly Hills some time in 2004, where he purportedly relayed to the two men his belief that Janet Arvizo was fabricating the allegations against Jackson. He also denied even personally knowing who Viner was, claiming that he had "never had a meeting with Michael Viner in [his] life." However, according to a memo attached with a defense motion, Viner recalled Feldman stating that he didn't believe Gavin and referred to the boy's mother as a "flake." Feldman had also allegedly stated that both mother and son were sent out to "another expert and they failed the smell test," and felt they were into the case solely for "money." When asked by defense investigator Scott Ross if this was a statement actually made by Feldman, Viner replied, "Absolutely." Upon being told by Ross that Feldman had testified that he didn't know who Viner was, Viner stated that was untrue, that they had met many times. Viner added that he was clueless as to why Feldman would deny knowing him. In a hearing outside of the jury, King stated that Feldman had told him during this lunch that the accuser's mother was "wacko," was "in it for the money," and that the accusations against Jackson "didn't hold water." King added that Feldman met with the mother and "didn't want to represent her," advising that she contact authorities with the allegations. The civil attorney did end up representing the woman and her family, but later withdrew as counsel for reasons unknown. Viner testified that he "walked away believing that [Feldman] did not believe the allegations." When cross-examined, Viner could not recall Feldman directly quoting anything the accuser's mother may have told him, which would have been a violation of the attorney-client privilege. After listening to the proposed testimonies, Judge Melville declared them to be "irrelevant," stating that it was unclear if Feldman was sharing an opinion or if he was quoting the accuser's mother. Depending on the media slant, various reasons have been given as to why King and Viner were rejected, including references to the testimony as "hearsay" and an inability to "verify" the statements as "fact." There have been a number of statements offered during the course of this trial that were allowed in, but not "for the fact of the matter" be it "verifiable" or not. The judge could have allowed both King and Viner to testify to having met Feldman for lunch and to state that the attorney had in fact expressed negative opinions about Janet Arvizo. That would not have been hearsay, and it would have been enough to impeach at least a portion of Feldman's testimony, particularly since King and Viner's statements seemed to corroborate one another. Given this recent ruling, it seems that there is a differential application of law in the case, one that puts Michael at a disadvantage. Statements offered by any number of prosecution witnesses, particularly those of Gavin and his family, are not in a different category than the testimonies of King and Viner. It should be clear by now that there seems to be two sets of standards operating here: one set favoring the prosecution, and one that appears to impair Michael's constitutional right to a fair trial. The highlight from the day was Azja Pryor, a Hollywood casting assistant & the girlfriend of Chris Tucker. Early in her testimony, Pryor broke down and cried when about the family. “It’s hard for me because I really do love the kids a lot,” she said in an apparent reference to her reluctance to testify against them.Pryor became friends with the Arvizo family after she was introduced to them through Tucker when Gavin was battling cancer & a number of celebrities became involved in efforts to help them. Pryor testified that she met the family at the Laugh Factory club in Hollywood in 2001. Pryor said she and Tucker began taking the children places. Tucker took them by private jet to an Oakland Raiders game and invited them to his brother's wedding, she said. Under questioning from Mesereau, Pryor said Janet Arvizo had asked her to take the family back to Neverland in February 2003, just after the family met with a social worker investigating possible child abuse. On that trip, Gavin & Starr spent the day playing at Neverland & even asked the ranch manager to be allowed to stay in Michael's bedroom at a time when he was away. She told the jury that Janet Arvizo complained to her in early March 2003 that two German associates of Jackson had stepped in to keep her family away. "I asked, "Does Michael know anything about this?' She said, "They won't let us around him because they know the children tug at his heart strings' ", Pryor testified.The time period she cited is critical because prosecutors allege the abuse happened between Feb. 20 & March 12, 2003. When Janet testified in the trial, she spoke out against "the Germans" and said they were conspiring with Jackson to hold her family captive. Pryor testified she and Janet would talk for hours on the phone, but the mother never complained to her about Michael. Pryor said that she never spoke critically of Jackson and praised him in lavish terms. “It was something to the effect (of) what a great man he is. He is an angel. His love is great,” Pryor said.The woman also talked with excitement about heading to Brazil for Carnival, Pryor said. Hello and greetings once again my fellow CUEnthusiasts!
Today on Coaches Corner I’m going discuss what I think many players would love some insight on, building your collection and working towards completion. This is going to potentially be a multi, or at minimum a 2 part series. There’s so much to cover that pertains to both and as I write, more keeps coming to mind lol.
While most of what I write is geared more towards newer players, free to play and more casual investors, there will be points shared that may be beneficial to anyone. Regardless the collection you have or even if you don’t care about building/completion.
Once more, a lot of what I’ll be covering will relate to both topics, I will go into more detail and differentiate when applicable if needed.
I’ll kick off this mini series thing with Part 1, where I’ll look at why New Cards are important and also share some of my insights and experience with Card Packs and currency(Gems and Coins).
This is in no way a guide for which packs to only open or where to strictly spend your currency. There are many great packs that aren’t listed and a few of my favorites also aren’t mentioned. It’s more my experience based on how some packs can help with the topics we’re discussing more than others is all. Your coins and gems are always yours to do with as you please :)
Regardless your time spent on cue, the majority of players want and chase new cards. It’s not uncommon to get some pretty wild offers early on, so new cards will and should always be a focus where possible for building and completing your collection. If you’ve ever posted a new card in game, especially early after it drops, you’ll know exactly what I mean. So I’ll leave it at that.
What I would like to discuss is knowing what to pull, and when to pull (I should note, the term “pull” means open packs, as in pull the new card from a pack). I’ll ask as well because I was away for a while and just returned recently to CUE, if I miss any note worthy packs that I didn’t discuss, please comment below and provide a bit as to why it’s a good pack to hit please. I know there’s a few new ones since I came back, and if they’re relevant, it would help to be made aware :)
I won’t cover every single pack but touch briefly on noteworthy ones that are both popular and, based on my personal experience, are worth a mention as they’re relevant to todays topics. I hope this may help when selecting what currency you save up and when to use them to maximize achieving your goals for your collection.
I again want to strongly emphasize. This in no way is a guide on how to 100% get the cards you want, which packs to open and how to spend your gems/coins.
This is however based off my experience in CUE, other trading card apps I’ve been on, and when seeing trades and helping evaluate trades when I pop into discord. I think it’s safe to say, most players who are complete or close to it and the ones who have been around for years, probably already know, have experienced, or used some of this.
I’ll start with what I would watch for in a pack and a new card.
Other than keeping an eye on social platforms for what’s being hyped up, there’s 2 things I look for before I pull for a new card or a pack in general.
The Collection the new card and/or the pack is associated with. And the playability of the new card.
What I look for in a collection first is, if the collection is part of the meta and in demand. Is this collection being played a lot and are many people looking for cards from the collection. I then check what and how many value/meta/very playable limited legendary and limited epics are in the collection. If there’s a decent amount (4-5 or more) this can check off the box for a worth while pack.
Next I look into the new card. How good is it? How scarce is it potentially going to be? And is there demand? While I primarily look to the first point when selecting a good pack, you’ll make the best bang for your currency if both these points are checked off. I’ll break this down a bit.
In regards to the new card, I mainly want its rarity to be limited epic or limited legendary when using it to trade. As I’ve covered before, most limited rares and below are relatively easy to obtain/complete and tend have less played cards as most decks are composed mostly of limited epics and higher. It’s of course still ok to pull/get lower rarity new cards to trade if you have lower rarity needs. These 2 rarities I mentioned though, are important for building and completion as they have the majority of valuable and playable cards amongst them.
I would recommend to try to focus and/or wait for a new card that is as playable and as much a meta deck staple as possible. This just means it’ll have demand.
Next I want to go over how gem cost and pull rates can factor in. I’m going to cover coins separately because they’re used a bit differently.
I do just want to quickly explain pull rates. The pull rate is the % chance you have of getting the specified card if you open 1 pack. For example, if the rate is 25%, when you open 1 of that pack, you have a 25% (1/4) chance of getting that card. It’s not if I open 4 packs, I should 100% get the card by the fourth pack.
Here’s how Gem Costs and Pull Rates COULD factor in.
The lower the gem cost and/or the higher the pull rate %, the more available the card could be. It doesn’t mean you’ll get worse results trading cards in packs that are one or both of these. It just means you may have a shorter window to maximize the cards potential trade power. Packs with high gem costs and/or lower pull rate %, are usually the ones that will be more in demand, be more scarce, and see some of the better offers. Kinda makes sense.
If a pack meets all the criteria we’ve gone over, it’s usually a good one to invest in. Again it’s your choice in the end. You’ll also get accustomed to making the best choice for you and your collecting goals as time goes and you become more well versed in the app. There’s a wide variety of packs to cater to every playecollector!
Before we proceed I want to offer some advice. Don’t send trades taking a wild over pay from people looking for a new card just because it’s new and in demand. It could get declined, as well, reflect bad on you and land you on a block list. Let them choose to do so if/when they send a trade. With the information coming up, there shouldn’t even be a need to.
When you do have and want to trade a new card my advice is always to just post it asap for trade in game and wait to see what comes in. Be patient, you’re not obligated to take the first or any offer just because it came it. Your cards, you get what you want. To elaborate as well, be realistic. One can’t expect the best offers and only look/wait for that every time. Remember too, sometimes you’re on a bit of a clock. As time goes and the card becomes less scarce, demand will/may drop, and good offers you had and waited on, may not come again. This is the game of a collector lol. Comfort will come with experience so don’t sweat it too much. But I felt it’s good to know as well.
I want to also point out to always check the demand of the new card before you post the card in game, accept incoming trades or pull/trade for more copies of a new card. Go to the trade screen and type in the name of the card and check the “Wanted” section to see roughly how many people are looking for it and toggle to the “Offered” section to see how many people are posting it for trade. This will give a very rough idea as to the supply and demand of the new card. If there’s few people looking and lots of people offering, it’s safe to assume demand is low. This is important because you don’t want to waste currency or your dupes for something that’s not gonna move, and you want to move new cards asap.
The way I view currency in general
Gems are mainly used to acquire mostly limited cards, either new or previously released.
Coins are mainly used for obtaining new or previously released basics or the collection of the day pack. I’ll quickly note, it’s rare to fill out your limiteds off basics. It still can happen, but far less frequently and efficiently. The ladder bit is in regards to trading basics, as limiteds can also be acquired via coin packs and I’ll touch on that soon.
So what are some decent/popular packs to look for to use your currency to help build/complete your collection?
I’ll start with gems packs just because most people want to use them the most efficiently, coins too, but there’s usually less opportunity for them as far as getting best bang for your buck so to speak.
Once more, we’re going to keep in mind everything I’ve gone over so far. And I again want to emphasize, I’m not trying to tell you exactly what packs to open and to disregard the rest. These were just some, from my experience, that are better to leverage for the topics today. Again each pack can cater to a different collector and their needs and wants. Just to be clear lol.
League Spotlight:
There’s a number of points I’m going to touch on because this is a popular pack, if not the most popular.
With a low gem cost and a not terrible pull rate for a limited legendary. Typically featuring 6 different Limited Legendary cards with the potential to pull other random limiteds, it has good bang for the gem cost. If pulling this pack, I’d recommend pulling the 3 for 2 at 50 gems.
Best to hit if you have a somewhat decent balance to be effective. You can fill limited card needs, get decent limiteds and more. I find if you can only do the 50 a few times your gems are better used elsewhere.

I liken these to spotlight packs because they’re more for if you have needs from that collection or specific rarities of limited cards. It’s worth noting, values aren’t impacted much by these as they’re not as heavily pulled like spotlight is.
Much like spotlight, these tend to not feature a new card so the trades aren’t expected to be the same as ones you’d typically see for a new card. And they usually cost around 150 gems or more per pack. If you’re free to play or a minimal investor and have fewer card needs, I feel your gems can be better used elsewhere. These can be worth it if you have many needs that you want to target or in general depending on the pack.
And lastly, these are the packs I feel are consistently worth the investment in relation to building and completing, especially when they can check off both boxes I mentioned earlier!
Although they can be a bit pricy and pull rates aren’t the best, it can be worth it to just save up to hit them a bit as I find they have the best return on investment.

Not to add what may come in if you hit the new limited epic and post it in game. The new limited epics in these packs tend to always trend to the more scarce side regardless of playability or value just due to the cost and rates.
These are the ones that to me stand out as they have had the best results for me. I’ve completed once, broke my collection willingly, completed again, took a long break and came back and completed once more. Done the dance a few times lol.
Again, I’m not saying there aren’t other worth while packs as there’s a few I enjoy that I didn’t list. But these are the ones I feel are most relevant to the topic at hand. You want to save up enough to at least try to get yourself a copy for yourself and a dupe or 2 if you’re trying for completion, or a copy or 2 to trade if you’re just looking for cards for your collection to play. These are also good to use to build decent dupes for future trades if you’re complete or have a few needs left to bait out those last cards.
Lastly coins. These are pretty straight forward as there’s not much variety wise like gem packs to spend them on. The ones I feel are best suited to today’s topic for coins are as follows:

The new cards in these are always basics and don’t yield much return, what makes them worth while is there’s a chance to pull a limited from the same collection, so if you have value needs of that particular collection or want good cards to trade, wait for this kind of pack to arrive that meets, what I consider, a good collection to pull for.

Today on Coaches Corner I’m going discuss what I think many players would love some insight on, building your collection and working towards completion. This is going to potentially be a multi, or at minimum a 2 part series. There’s so much to cover that pertains to both and as I write, more keeps coming to mind lol.
While most of what I write is geared more towards newer players, free to play and more casual investors, there will be points shared that may be beneficial to anyone. Regardless the collection you have or even if you don’t care about building/completion.
Once more, a lot of what I’ll be covering will relate to both topics, I will go into more detail and differentiate when applicable if needed.
I’ll kick off this mini series thing with Part 1, where I’ll look at why New Cards are important and also share some of my insights and experience with Card Packs and currency(Gems and Coins).
This is in no way a guide for which packs to only open or where to strictly spend your currency. There are many great packs that aren’t listed and a few of my favorites also aren’t mentioned. It’s more my experience based on how some packs can help with the topics we’re discussing more than others is all. Your coins and gems are always yours to do with as you please :)
Regardless your time spent on cue, the majority of players want and chase new cards. It’s not uncommon to get some pretty wild offers early on, so new cards will and should always be a focus where possible for building and completing your collection. If you’ve ever posted a new card in game, especially early after it drops, you’ll know exactly what I mean. So I’ll leave it at that.
What I would like to discuss is knowing what to pull, and when to pull (I should note, the term “pull” means open packs, as in pull the new card from a pack). I’ll ask as well because I was away for a while and just returned recently to CUE, if I miss any note worthy packs that I didn’t discuss, please comment below and provide a bit as to why it’s a good pack to hit please. I know there’s a few new ones since I came back, and if they’re relevant, it would help to be made aware :)
I won’t cover every single pack but touch briefly on noteworthy ones that are both popular and, based on my personal experience, are worth a mention as they’re relevant to todays topics. I hope this may help when selecting what currency you save up and when to use them to maximize achieving your goals for your collection.
I again want to strongly emphasize. This in no way is a guide on how to 100% get the cards you want, which packs to open and how to spend your gems/coins.
This is however based off my experience in CUE, other trading card apps I’ve been on, and when seeing trades and helping evaluate trades when I pop into discord. I think it’s safe to say, most players who are complete or close to it and the ones who have been around for years, probably already know, have experienced, or used some of this.
I’ll start with what I would watch for in a pack and a new card.
Other than keeping an eye on social platforms for what’s being hyped up, there’s 2 things I look for before I pull for a new card or a pack in general.
The Collection the new card and/or the pack is associated with. And the playability of the new card.
What I look for in a collection first is, if the collection is part of the meta and in demand. Is this collection being played a lot and are many people looking for cards from the collection. I then check what and how many value/meta/very playable limited legendary and limited epics are in the collection. If there’s a decent amount (4-5 or more) this can check off the box for a worth while pack.
Next I look into the new card. How good is it? How scarce is it potentially going to be? And is there demand? While I primarily look to the first point when selecting a good pack, you’ll make the best bang for your currency if both these points are checked off. I’ll break this down a bit.
In regards to the new card, I mainly want its rarity to be limited epic or limited legendary when using it to trade. As I’ve covered before, most limited rares and below are relatively easy to obtain/complete and tend have less played cards as most decks are composed mostly of limited epics and higher. It’s of course still ok to pull/get lower rarity new cards to trade if you have lower rarity needs. These 2 rarities I mentioned though, are important for building and completion as they have the majority of valuable and playable cards amongst them.
I would recommend to try to focus and/or wait for a new card that is as playable and as much a meta deck staple as possible. This just means it’ll have demand.
Next I want to go over how gem cost and pull rates can factor in. I’m going to cover coins separately because they’re used a bit differently.
I do just want to quickly explain pull rates. The pull rate is the % chance you have of getting the specified card if you open 1 pack. For example, if the rate is 25%, when you open 1 of that pack, you have a 25% (1/4) chance of getting that card. It’s not if I open 4 packs, I should 100% get the card by the fourth pack.
Here’s how Gem Costs and Pull Rates COULD factor in.
The lower the gem cost and/or the higher the pull rate %, the more available the card could be. It doesn’t mean you’ll get worse results trading cards in packs that are one or both of these. It just means you may have a shorter window to maximize the cards potential trade power. Packs with high gem costs and/or lower pull rate %, are usually the ones that will be more in demand, be more scarce, and see some of the better offers. Kinda makes sense.
If a pack meets all the criteria we’ve gone over, it’s usually a good one to invest in. Again it’s your choice in the end. You’ll also get accustomed to making the best choice for you and your collecting goals as time goes and you become more well versed in the app. There’s a wide variety of packs to cater to every playecollector!
Before we proceed I want to offer some advice. Don’t send trades taking a wild over pay from people looking for a new card just because it’s new and in demand. It could get declined, as well, reflect bad on you and land you on a block list. Let them choose to do so if/when they send a trade. With the information coming up, there shouldn’t even be a need to.
When you do have and want to trade a new card my advice is always to just post it asap for trade in game and wait to see what comes in. Be patient, you’re not obligated to take the first or any offer just because it came it. Your cards, you get what you want. To elaborate as well, be realistic. One can’t expect the best offers and only look/wait for that every time. Remember too, sometimes you’re on a bit of a clock. As time goes and the card becomes less scarce, demand will/may drop, and good offers you had and waited on, may not come again. This is the game of a collector lol. Comfort will come with experience so don’t sweat it too much. But I felt it’s good to know as well.
I want to also point out to always check the demand of the new card before you post the card in game, accept incoming trades or pull/trade for more copies of a new card. Go to the trade screen and type in the name of the card and check the “Wanted” section to see roughly how many people are looking for it and toggle to the “Offered” section to see how many people are posting it for trade. This will give a very rough idea as to the supply and demand of the new card. If there’s few people looking and lots of people offering, it’s safe to assume demand is low. This is important because you don’t want to waste currency or your dupes for something that’s not gonna move, and you want to move new cards asap.
The way I view currency in general
Gems are mainly used to acquire mostly limited cards, either new or previously released.
Coins are mainly used for obtaining new or previously released basics or the collection of the day pack. I’ll quickly note, it’s rare to fill out your limiteds off basics. It still can happen, but far less frequently and efficiently. The ladder bit is in regards to trading basics, as limiteds can also be acquired via coin packs and I’ll touch on that soon.
So what are some decent/popular packs to look for to use your currency to help build/complete your collection?
I’ll start with gems packs just because most people want to use them the most efficiently, coins too, but there’s usually less opportunity for them as far as getting best bang for your buck so to speak.
Once more, we’re going to keep in mind everything I’ve gone over so far. And I again want to emphasize, I’m not trying to tell you exactly what packs to open and to disregard the rest. These were just some, from my experience, that are better to leverage for the topics today. Again each pack can cater to a different collector and their needs and wants. Just to be clear lol.
League Spotlight:
There’s a number of points I’m going to touch on because this is a popular pack, if not the most popular.
With a low gem cost and a not terrible pull rate for a limited legendary. Typically featuring 6 different Limited Legendary cards with the potential to pull other random limiteds, it has good bang for the gem cost. If pulling this pack, I’d recommend pulling the 3 for 2 at 50 gems.
Best to hit if you have a somewhat decent balance to be effective. You can fill limited card needs, get decent limiteds and more. I find if you can only do the 50 a few times your gems are better used elsewhere.

I find myself sort of disappointed with Automation, not because it isn't what it's advertised as, or that it isn't a good game, but because it has the best engine building of any game I've played. It's missing some of my favorite engine types and components though, most of which have just been denied when brought up. I use it as a concept realization tool for engines and cars for fictional worlds. I'm perfectly happy with Automation for the actual car design, the engine designing just leaves me disappointed with the lack of variety. So I was wondering if anyone here has any suggestions for games that are sort of specialized in that department, which might have more options.
Also, AngeTheGreat's engine simulator is really interesting but it's not something I can just load up and mess with visually, so I tend to lean away from it even though on paper it's the best program for that application.

Good day, I'm currently in matric and I need to apply for universities and the major that I would like to take up is computer science. South Africa with most of its universities has a requirement for you to apply with your greater 11 results so that you can get admitted for the next year with provisional acceptance.
My average in general is in the low 80s my English and computer applications technology subjects are very high but my math and science missed the mark last year in grade 11 finals.
A lot of the universities expect my math and science mark to be of a certain caliber and I couldn't achieve that in grade 11 but in matric I'm doing a lot better. So my friends have already applied and they've got provisional acceptance for a lot of the courses
My question is, if I were to apply with my grade 11 marks which are probably not going to get me into provisional acceptance because my math and science marks were below par last year, would I still have a chance of making it in if my matric finals were really good? Because I'm doing a lot better and matric.

I handed in a notice for a career break a while ago because I need a rest for my MH. I don't think it got processed (maybe my fault for not following it up). Basically my ward know I'm leaving. It cuted MH on my career break application.
However I had a really bad day at work, we were understaffed and had a lot of ill/ heavy patients. I remember going home almost wanting to cry. I also had very bad family news which came a few days before. I called in sick the next day.
My question is can I go abroad on long term sickness? I really want to go away and completely clear my head. Right now at home on sick leave I'm just dossing about and it's not helping at all. I checked my trust policy and it says nothing saying I can't. Unless there's a unknown rule I'm not aware off, as long as I have up to date sick notes from my GP, it shouldn't be a problem as I'm not breaking any trust guidelines and it's all by the book. My sickness doesn't stop me from travelling also like if I was off sick for back problems but I was doing a marathon the next day.
I don't think I have to use my AL either, I really don't want to. From the people I've spoken to, they all say it depends on the manager. Should I even tell them? To me as long as I have up to date sick notes it's ok but is there anything I can do to cover my self?

I 27f was going to sign a lease with my friend 24f I'll refer to as x. I was looking forward to the move but x suggested living with a 3rd to make the rent cheaper. So we found a 3 bdrm apartment which would have been fine. We all put our applications in and got accepted to move and I was ready to go. I am going away for a few weeks in a few days and was going to take the weekend to pack. Last minute, our 3rd roommate backed out and it made me second guess everything. It reminded me how unstable living with roommates can be and although I trust my friend I needed to get everything situated by Monday (this happened saturday) because I am leaving to go to another country without service and I would have to move out the day after I come back.
When the 3rd roommate backed out, she introduced us to another girl I wasn't excited to live with but x tried to convince me it would be fine. The whole reason I stopped living with people was because it can feel like I'm on the hook for others decisions financially and I don't like that feeling. We get through an exterminate mission, then achieve victory in a Evacuate Personnel mission. You know, the one where you activate two communications towers then go about getting 20 assholes into a shelter. That one. This is on the far north of the map, and the extraction is at the far south.
Dude. The journey from the objective to the extraction is one of the most prolonged, protracted, wars of attrition I've EVER experienced in this game lol. But we lock it in. We get to extract, two more bug hives that are right next door. So I opt to go do them.
One light hive, easy, done.
The next one is a medium. I got three eagle airstrikes, a grenade pistol, and a fucking dream. I throw two eagles one after the other. Secure the last hole with the pistol. EASY DUDE. A teammate runs into the last airstrike but uh that's kinda their fault.

Deep breaths.
This just happened.
Guys let me tell you about the hard fought victory myself and three other troglodytes just trudged through.
It's suicide. The easy mode of the Hard difficulties. We're doing pretty good. We're all pretty self sufficient, don't need to be babysat. We take care of chargers and bike titans quickly and efficiently. Honestly could not ask for a better team.
We get through an exterminate mission, then achieve victory in a Evacuate Personnel mission. You know, the one where you activate two communications towers then go about getting 20 assholes into a shelter. That one. This is on the far north of the map, and the extraction is at the far south.
Dude. The journey from the objective to the extraction is one of the most prolonged, protracted, wars of attrition I've EVER experienced in this game lol. But we lock it in. We get to extract, two more bug hives that are right next door. So I opt to go do them.
One light hive, easy, done.
The next one is a medium. I got three eagle airstrikes, a grenade pistol, and a fucking dream. I throw two eagles one after the other. Secure the last hole with the pistol. EASY DUDE. A teammate runs into the last airstrike but uh that's kinda their fault.
I realize, I don't have any more stims. Out of grenades. I've got like 25% HP left. It's fine. I'm getting surrounded but they're doing that silly bug thing where they're trying to power check you by going left and right to try and block your path, but I dive through a last minute break in their defenses and the pelican just landed baby. We're gonna make it home.
Mind you, I currently have like 7 commons, 5 rares and all 3 super samples on me. The group seems to be waiting for me before they get on our ride.
If your name is Non-Con-Form, I hope your court martial ends up with your helmet on the chopping block because THIS GUY RIGHT HERE THROWS A 380 BARRAGE SUPER CLOSE TO THE PELICAN.
I'm BOBBIN', I'm WEAVIN'. Some gets on the pelican. It's 7 seconds left now.
I get decimated by a shell. Right on the edge too, if I was at max I might have survived.
Samples lost. Hope lost. The pelican leaves.
