Hello there and well met! If you’ve made it past the flavor text (or skipped it) and through the basic info (hopefully didnt skip past that one) you might very well be at the right address! Without further ado onto the post.

🐲The campaign🐲

Having only just recovered from the Second Sundering and the War of the Silver Marches, the North had been ravaged by a whole new set of tumultuous events - the rise of the Cult of the Dragon and that of the Absolute, the Fall of Eltruel and the short reign of the beholder crime lord Xanathar just some among them. After a brief respite from the twisted and the unnatural the clouds once more begin to gather. Along the Long Road, whole hosts of wild beasts and monsters have been accosting travelers seemingly at random and in the grand metropolis of Waterdeep a sudden rise in crime seems to coincide with strange events passing unnoticed beneath the surface. Amidst all this, in spring of 1493 DR, a party of adventurers delves into a mystery of enchanted gemstones being utilized to nefarious ends by unknown perpetrators all the while navigating the labyrinthine twists of city faction politics.
As implied by the post title, this is an ongoing campaign (we are 12 sessions in at the time of this post). Due to some irl commitments weve recently dropped a player and are looking to replace them.
As the title suggests, this is a roleplay focused mystery/lore driven campaign. Expect an overreaching plot with ample secrets to uncover, conspiracies to unravel and eldritch truths to unearth. The first word of the password is "Doth". On the same level of importance or more important even be that the players preference, there is a variety of subplots to engage with, from small and goofy and random to ones rivaling the main story arc in complexity and variance. Among these, individual character story arcs play a leading role, at times seamlessly intertwined with the current focus of the party, at times separate and independent.
As was already mentioned and is further described below, this is a roleplay focused campaign and a roleplay heavy game. This means that roleplay exists as a unifying concept for all other aspects of the game including exploration, combat, and puzzles. That said DnD is only DnD with all three of its main pillars intact and this campaign is no exception in that regard. I very much enjoy the mechanical side of the game as well besides roleplay and so things like multiphase boss fights and custom magic items are definitely on the table.

🧙‍♂️The DM🧙‍♂️

Hello there, Jay here, 25 yo law student from Central Europe currently working on finishing his master’s degree, trying to stay afloat in the current lease market. I study and work in a law firm by day and DM or play DnD by night (more like evening but night sounded cooler). I have been a big fan of TTRPGs since my early teens and of online DnD for the past five years. I’ve DMed multiple campaigns, finished CoS not least among them and I currently play in a long-term campaign. Before you ask, yes, my schedule is strained but not to the point I am unable to engage with my hobbies.
I would describe my DMing style as driven, realistic, and involved but also very conscious about player agency and collaborative storytelling as core values that make TTRPGs so popular and unique. I spend a lot of time ensuring the worlds I create and the stories I want to tell feel alive. From hand-picked music, to fully voiced NPCs and scenic descriptions designed to breathe life into the campaign setting I daresay my games rival in quality those of the professional DMs that charge for each session.
There is a drawback to this all however. Second word of the password is "thy". I expect a lot from my players as well. Writing a story in DnD is not a one person job. It takes a collective effort of the entire group to create something truly unique, something that one can be proud while looking forward to each session. Unwinding and letting off steam means something else for everyone. For me it means losing myself in the creative process of roleplaying an NPC or describing a scene, watching my players masterfully portray their own characters or having the party derail my plans in an awesome unforeseen and unexpectedly enriching way. If you find yourself in any of what I just described than this may be a game for you. If you don’t, that’s fine. This is definitely not a game for everyone.

🏰The setting🏰

Forgotten Realms is a default setting of Dungeons and Dragons but it is anything but boring and mundane. With now decades worth of lore behind it, it offers an unparalleled opportunity for anyone wanting to build on solid foundations to bring their ideas to life. While it has garnered a lot of attention lately with the release of a certain videogame (more people now know Astarion than a good amount of Hollywood celebrities I’d say) it has had its loyal following even before then, being constantly expanded and living its own life in a host of both online and home games. It’s been a natural choice of mine for a while now and not once have I had any regrets. The third word of the password is "mirror". I feel with how great of a variety of content the Forgotten Realms offer everybody is able to pick something that suits their creative vision. In summary the Forgotten Realms almost feel like a real place with how much worldbuilding has been done with them and offer a diversity of content few other TTRPG settings can boast.
When it comes to setting of the campaign in the world of Faerun I have once again made a somewhat traditional pick and decided to place the onset of the game onto the Sword Coast, more precisely into the city of Waterdeep. If one of the key upsides of Forgotten Realms is diversity of content, Waterdeep is one of the best representations of this. Being the largest settlement on the known Faerun, Waterdeep offers nigh limitless options in terms of main story arc genre, character creation and character backstory implementation. It has everything every large TTRPG settlement ought to have (fickle upper class, enigmatic factions, quaint taverns and extravagant nightclubs, always in bad mood city watch, a castle and a harbor) as well as few pretty original ideas such as colossal definitely not alive statues, a city council where even its members don’t know each other’s identity and a massive dungeon right underneath the city where you can literally fall right from a tavern taproom.
In case you are wondering, while this campagn takes place primarily in the city of Waterdeep itself, there is nothing stopping the players from exploring past the city if they so choose. The final word of the password is "crack?". Different parts of the main plot and various subplots can and will encourage the party to explore Waterdeep environs and sometimes even further.

📃The requirements📃

No exceptions here. Unless otherwise stated, the requirements must be met at the time of application.

• to apply you need to be 20+ yo
• you need a functioning webcam (at the time of application) and a stable internet connection - we will be using both video and voice on discord and as a general rule Wifi doesn’t handle long video calls well (believe me when I say I speak from experience) so cable or other similar form of stable connection is strongly encouraged
• you need a Discord account and you will need a Forge account - Forge is a hosting service for Foundry, don’t worry, you won’t need to input any personal info (besides maybe an email) to register and I will be footing the bill
• you need a PC that can and will run Foundry Virtual Tabletop - check the minimum requirements on the Foundry website, a fair warning, Foundry won’t run on tablets and phones (not that you should consider those in the first place)
• you need at least an elementary knowledge of Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition - when it comes to the awareness of the rules, I won’t be too harsh, but definitely don’t apply if the first time you’ve seen the PHB was a week ago
• you need TTRPG/roleplay experience and/or a very strong roleplay inclination - this is a heavy roleplay game where most if not all ingame talk will be done in character and where you will be expected to voice your character in a way that is distinct from your standard voice
• you will need to be very punctual when it comes to session attendance - I expect my players to attend most if not all sessions, online or not, this campaign is a designed as a longterm commitment and by applying you are acknowledging this, having other hobbies and time-consuming real-life obligations is understandable (I got those too) but those 4-5 hours you will be expected to set aside for the session

PS: As a part of the questionnaire, you will be asked to submit a short piece of your narrative writing in a form of a google doc link (not a custom piece of writing, any relevant past one you have will do). So, a little background info. Since I was a kid, I've always had pretty long/ healthy nails. As I got older I started doing Gel manicures(regular polish comes off in like two seconds) and I noticed that not only would the polish leave in like 4 days, but my nails would typically chip and break. Not at the root or deep, but they would just always break, and so it seemed pointless. I started doing my own nails. They weren't great but it was fine. I started playing an instrument, so I always kept them short.
Two months ago I went to this local place and got a Gel Manicure with this guy, we'll call him Tim. I expected it to chip in like 3 days or break, but to my surprise it never did. I'm talking my nails had fully grown out, and were long and pretty, and it still was perfectly intact. Like 3 weeks later. Never broke or anything. Even when I was rough with them, knowing that's typically when they would chip, they never did! I was amazed. So, I went back, and he said he had a "secret" to doing the nails well. So they wouldn't break or chip. He did a sparkly not fully opaque color, and I was skeptical it would chip BUT IT DIDNT! Tim had cracked the code!! They were strong, and healthy, and never broke. For another Month! It was amazing.
I went back a few days ago, on Cloud 9 thinking I'd get perfect nails again. But Tim has since moved to Vegas. This nice lady did mine, and it's been like 3 days and wouldn't you know it, two of my nails have already cracked. It feels...tighter? For some reason? Like stiff? And I have NO IDEA WHAT TIM DID! Please help! If there are any technicians who have an idea. What did he do that made them so perfect? Is there anything I can say to these new people to make them less likely to crack/ chip?

One of the things that made "Superstore" so special was its focus on those everyday folks, the underdogs, the ones who don't always get the spotlight. Sandra, with her quirky personality and timid demeanor, Kelly with her ditzy charm and misguided ambition, Glenn with his unwavering optimism and questionable management skills, and Mateo with his sharp wit and unwavering determination to succeed – they were all characters that we could relate to on some level.
They weren't perfect, they weren't always the most successful, but they were real. They represented the struggles and triumphs of everyday life, the challenges of working a minimum wage job, the complexities of relationships, and the pursuit of dreams. And they did it all with humor, heart, and a whole lot of relatable moments.
I reckon that's why so many folks connected with "Superstore." It was a show that celebrated the underdog, the misfits, the ones who don't always fit in. It showed us that even in the most mundane of settings, like a big box store, there's room for laughter, love, and a little bit of chaos.
And it reminded us that even if we don't have it all figured out, even if we're not always the most talented or privileged, we can still find happiness and fulfillment in our lives. We just gotta keep on truckin', just like those folks at Cloud 9.

I don't even know how much of my trauma actually is trauma? If that makes sense? I always feel horrifically invalid from it being so watered down as a child and made to feel normal.
I was bullied to the ends of the earth for the sexual abuse my bio dad put me through because I would talk about it like it was normal at school to my friends, simple things like someone having their own bedroom and not being forced to sleep in their dads bed, or being allowed to open the blinds, not having to deadbolt the front door or not being forced to take temazepam every night. Oh, it's not normal for your dad to force you to drink upward of 3 bottles of wine a weekend? I would be tormented by my friends because they were kids, kids are assholes, common shit like ‘your dads a pedo/he touches you/etc’ and I'd laugh along because I didn't know what it meant. No one ever explained it to me, no other adults stepped in to stop it, not even my sibling spoke up about it even though she witnessed it for majority of my growing up. This all took place from ages 3-12, my memory only starting at about 8 and at 12 i had to remove myself from that situation because my mother didn’t want to ‘be a bitch’. it’s been 6 years since i’ve seen my dad, which i only have myself to thank, my family still jokes about the stuff i went through, which i later learnt they all knew about. He had 4 restraining orders against him from a previous family, because he sexually abused his 3 kids, all under the age of 8, youngest being 2.
i went to the police about everything (my mother did not want to be involved so i had to get my sibling to take me, i was 14 at the time). they told me because i had no evidence and it had been so long, the only thing i could do was get a no contact order, which my mum would have to fill out and it would protect me from him contacting me, meaning if he broke it, it would lead to a restraining order, and then if that was broken he would do time. she told me to my face that it was a waste of time. When i was 13 i opened up to her about shit that had happened, her only response was ‘you can’t blame me for what happened’. Mind you this was not the only person in the family who was doing shit, my dad found CP of me on my cousins laptop when i was 8, he was so angry and after that day i was no longer allowed in my cousins room when we went over there. that’s some of the only ‘trauma’ i have clear memory of was the shit on those recordings.
Around that time i started self harming, i was around 9 years old and as i got older it just got more ‘severe’, stitches, weekly doctors visits, medication, therapy ontop of therapy, my mums only issue with my self harm seemed to be that it made her look like a shit parent, the first time she saw was when i was 13, my sleeve rolled up whilst we were waiting for a court meeting. My dad had tried to take us to court since he believed my mum was ‘keeping’ me from him (we did not end up going to court, he threatened to kill his lawyer and then was given a mental health assessment that did not go in his favour.). She saw my wrist and started screaming at me in the middle of a cafe about how stupid i was for even doing that, mind you i was on my way to have a child psychologist assess me for court. she swore black and blue at me before telling me to ‘keep my sleeves down’ during the assessment.
Second time she found out was when she came into my room whilst i was taking a nap, i was wearing a short sleeved shirt so my at the time scars were quiet visible, she dragged me out of bed whaling about how i was stupid for continuing and i had ruined my body, i was 15 at this time, the year prior i had been diagnosed CPTSD, Emerging BPD, PDD (persistent depressive disorder) and Social Anxiety, as well as panic disorder and some form of major dissociation either from BPD or underlying schizophrenia (there’s a very strong genetic risk for it since both my dad and 3 of my siblings have it.). She didn’t care what diagnosis i had, she still doesn’t to be honest and to her they’re just words on paper saying her kid is ‘weird’. Growing up i was often referred to as ‘it’, ‘the thing’, ‘kid’. i’ve found that after all sexual assault i start to feel immensely uncomfortable in my identity, and i will change my name, i also discovered the queer community around the time of all this too and it gave me something to focus on instead of dwelling about my past. she’s never respected my name, or pronouns, it’s been the same name for 4 years now, same pronouns and either of those have ever been attempted to be used, i gave up so i just let her say what she wants since she’s sick and probably won’t be around for a while longer.
I know if someone else told me this stuff i’d always agree that it’s messed up and they need help etc. but because it’s me i just can’t make that connection? this is my childhood, this was what’s normal, no one ever batted an eye about it or told me it was wrong so i can’t be upset or feel bad about it since what am i going to do? but realistically, i am honestly falling apart day by day, all trust is gone, i don’t know who i am, i constantly put others first, and ontop of mental fuckarounds there’s a bunch of shit wrong with me physically that limits a lot of stuff, i feel like this world isn’t meant for me, my quality of life is nearly 0 and if an animal had gone through shit to the point it can’t function in life properly and will be put down, then why tf am i still here, i have so many questions to ask so many people of just ‘why did you let this happen’ but i know the blame will be pushed back to me.
sorry for rambling, my head is so clouded at the moment and i’ve been having horrible irrational thoughts about all this, I’m 17 now, i’ll be 18 this year. i’ve moved out of my mothers house and see her once a fortnight, shes dying, and it saddens me since i do love her, she’s my mum, a part of me will always love her. My dad is still unfortunately alive, he got me sent into the psychiatric hospital a could months back, he finds whatever house i live in, whatever job my family members (2) have, he will drive by, rock up, break in, do whatever he wants since police won’t help, he’s still tormenting my life every single day and there’s nothing i can do about it, and i’m so, so tired.

I was bored and had a lot of time on my hands so I decided to go through every single island, both in the main game and DOF, and add up the total number of tracks for each island. Some of this might be off, especially with the natural islands regarding the Werdos. I relied on the recording studio in-game, the wiki, and some videos on YouTube to determine how many tracks the monsters had and add them up.

Apologies if this is obvious (I have no real programming experience) or already asked a lot (I was surprised I couldn’t find it via search). I‘m trying to find or make a batch file rename shortcut on iPadOS that does a few simple things:

1. Lets me select several files at once from a location of my choosing in the Files app (usually in either a Dropbox or iCloud folder).
2. Prompts me to enter a new file name prefix (like “NewFileName”)
3. Renames all selected files to the new name and appends a sequential number after them. (Like NewFileName01, NewFileName02, etc)
4. Lets me choose where the new files are saved (or places them in the same folder as the originals).
5. Gives me the option to delete the original files (ideally, but I can do this manually if I have to).

I found this one: Batch Renaming Photos in the Files app which is pretty close to what I want, but it seems to number things in single digits (like Filename - 1, Filename - 2) and I was wondering if there’s a way to change that to 2 digits (like Filename - 01, Filename - 02)?
Basically part of the reason I need this shortcut to begin with is because I’m exporting batches of files from Procreate, which also uses single digits, which means if I have more than 9 in the sequence (like 12 for example), they’re ordered as Filename - 1, Filename - 11, Filename - 12, Filename - 2, Filename - 3 (and so on) instead of being properly ordered from 1-12, which drives me nuts when trying to find and work with batches of files.
Two other minor issues (but not dealbreakers if they can’t be solved) are:

• I ideally want to be able to choose how the number is appended (like Filename01, Filename_01, etc. instead of just defaulting to the dash format).
  
• There’s a weird issue I’m having with this one in that selecting files and launching from the share sheet still prompts me to select files again (and doesn’t use the previous selections), making the share sheet feature kind of irrelevant. I don’t absolutely need the share sheet option to work though.
  

I did also find this: Batch rename and copy shortcut for use with photography files which appends the number directly after the new Filename which gives me a bit more flexibility and allows me to add in the 0 as part of the preffix and then I guess I could go back and delete it for the numbers 10+, but it‘s not the most ideal workaround.
But overall. this 2nd one is probably overkill for what I need and has some other issues (like not being able to just choose one folder to save all the renamed files in without having to enter a folder path manually or reselect it for each file).
Anyway, sorry again if this is an obvious question. It feels like it should be an easy thing to figure out, but I’ve been struggling with it for hours because of my lack of experience in this area.
