Right off bat, I did not grow up with the OT in their original forms. However, I love seeing the changes made and actually like some of the older interpretations, so I'm mostly neutral save for watching the new versions first.
Obviously, the most infamous change is that song, which even newer viewers can tell feels out of place. However, it did lead to that moment where the Twi'lek ends up in the Rancor area, which I think was a legitimately great change that sets up Luke's encounter later on.
I've heard people say they don't like the "No!" from Darth Vader, but in my opinion, it fits very well, especially for something as theatrical as Star Wars. It genuinely just does feel like there's something missing in that original version. I get that you can already tell his thoughts, but the gesture doesn't feel as grand without that verbal reaction. At least in my experience, no one who has seen the movie with that addition has ever minded.
For the unmasking scene, getting rid of the eyebrows just makes the whole look work better. Him being this ghostly white with very prominent eyebrows just looks a little funny.
The ending song is just way better in the newer edition. The Ewok song is cute and fits for some other celebration exclusive to the Ewoks, but the score that was added just feels much more triumphant and like an ending song that also fits the Ewok environment. It's one of my favorite pieces of music from the franchise and I was really surprised when I learned it wasn't originally there.

I'm a maker, with 12 years of 3d printing under my belt. I used to be a bit wary but the Ender 3 won my heart and became my main printer(s) for years. When I upgraded to K1 & K1 Max, I was impressed with the speed, but losing the ability to use Cura was a problem.
Creality Print 4 wasn't the greatest piece of software ever, it had noticeable bugs and quirks. But it did work (most of the time).
Then I've installed CP 5 to discover that it's not related to CP4. It's like a full rewrite. I'm sure the there must be a post somewhere explaining the reasoning and strategy. Or Creality decided not to share it with anyone - it would be weird but not totally unexpected either.
CP4 already felt a bit weird like they were trying to merge functions of FDM and resin printer slicers. Like the way they were trying to make supports and hollow shells. It didn't make sense, didn't fit the workflow for FDM. So I understand there must be some plan - but it doesn't look like Creality fully understands how to implement it.
CP 5 seems to be based on Prusa SliceOrca. That's not a problem. The big problem is that by doing they're actually re-starting from scratch and lost a lot of the knowledge accumulated over the years. So things that always worked don't work anymore. And worse - there's no consistency. Things may work for some users and fail for others.
One thing that I've heard people say is that Creality often change suppliers for the same model so it's probably guaranteed that my K1 has not the same electronics as everyone else. It makes testing for combinations of firmware and slicers a nightmare and explains why some K1's didn't work with the latest upgrade (it wasn't rooted btw) while others were happy with it.
Last but not last, I've seen complaints here and there, but it seems that even the quality is the reports and analysis isn't the same it used to be. It feels like people are getting used to accepting whatever companies deliver. It's like we forgot it rights as customers. All that want is to have a predictable supplier that is more transparent with their tech, quality, and even a bit of strategy, treating us like customers, like companies used to be before social media melted everyone's brain.

Really struggling to wrap my head around this intellectually, but I've gone on a mile wide and an inch deep dive on different models of reality, consciousness and such that has expanded into yogic principles and even the occult - from Qaballah to Simulation Theory to whatever else
I understand, it seems, that manifesting and that sort of thing is actually a center focus in most of these spiritual practices, there may be different mechanisms behind it but they all really seem to follow a similar thought pattern:
What I am struggling with, really, is why does all this give me such a headache? Lol. So much brain fog trying to piece it together, yet it's all right in front of me. I don't have reason to believe I am losing my grip, but if I was, would I even know it? Or would it even matter?
Of course, not every religion or faith is like this. Scientology, atheism, don't really follow this idea.
Hopefully somebody understands my confusion, at least a little bit. Would definitely bring me back down to Earth. I'm just recovering from 2 days of the stomach flu. Very much a human "Maya" condition to be in. Haha.
Are there any more common threads you have noticed? Or conversely, have you noticed any religious or spiritual themes that actively dispute the concept of manifestation and nondualism?

- Everything outside is actually within you
- Therefore everything is a reflection of oneself
- Modifying one's reflection of oneself will therefore modify everything outside (as there is no distinction between them, truly)

I fought long and hard in the first galactic war, I have seen the ebb and flow of our enemies evolving and our weapons tech compensating, and the enemy evolving again. Research and developement do not always go smoothly, but in the end balance out.
What I am saying is the developers are doing a good job balancing the game, as us veterans know, its just not the balance people always hope for.
A primary weapon should never be able to one shot bigguns not matter how bad the player base wants to be able to pick a single gun and just kill everything with it. This is not the way. The balance that takes place is to balance and maintain the creators vision of the game which is 1) team work above all else 2) strategy and planning
The tools are there for you too succeed, but success will not be easy. Suicide mission, impossible, hell dive, they are called this for a reason, and they will balance it to maintain that reason, to force team work and strategy. The surface of the game is silly because it is a mockery of propaganda, but it is almost as deep as it can get for strategy, difficulty, and team work.
This means that for some diff 7 and up WILL NEVER BE FUN, which is totally fine, don't feel like you have to do it.
"Oh but the upgrades, I have to get the up grades" no you don't, why because those upgrades are specifically for people pushing the higher levels because they LOVE the challenge and team work, the glory of surviving, fun is the brutal difficulty and the success. If it was all balanced or rather tilted to the helldivers it would cease being fun for us cause it would be to easy and boring if I could just grab a primary and solo a hell dive without breaking a sweat or dropping a single strat. That is not a hell dive. A hell dive should make you ask "why Joel why have you done this to me?" Or rather why did I do this to myself. It should be impossible to solo 7 and up, in the first war diff from 1-15, 7 was about it for soloing on the average veteran, why because you can't prepare enough strats and weapons on your own to survive. I am sure some did it, but I also know it was a nightmare to do so.
So don't feel like you need to be a completionist, enjoy what you have, and enjoy the game at the level your comfortable with. If your a real completionist you will enjoy the struggle of a hell dive anyway, otherwise just leave it be, don't expect to be carried, don't expect the devs to give you the ultimate gun to kill everything with, it will NEVER exist, and if by some chance it does it will be NERFED.
Primary weapoms serve one purpose only, to kill little things in a variety of ways, for a variety of reasons. The balance of a primary weapon is to its role only. Long range short range, spray, accuracy, speed, all balanced in its own way.
7th commandment of Joel "know your equipment" 😁
The stratagems will be what gets you through in the end so choose wisely, pay attention to your teams loudout, fill in the gaps, or suffer the agony of defeat. Flexibility, adaptability, and coordination are key if you want to succeed not complaining about a minor nerf to an overpowered weapon, which sure its fun to sweep and clear like a god for a bit, but we are not gods, we are expendable soldiers dying by the thousands to achieve impossible victory at overwhelming odds on 2 fronts currently.
No one should judge you for nevee wanting to do a suicide mission, leave that to the hardened vets, enjoy your level of difficulty that suits your play style and makes you happy, use the tools you have as they are, the devs are on top of balance, but the balance is to maintain their vision of this game, which includes a SUICIDE MISSION, i think we should all get what that means, and they will keep it that way. Again because we must work together.
Look at what they have done, they have united the WORLD to fight together and and die together in a game with their vision. It is absolutely amazing, so give up the solo hero idea of so many other games and work with your teamates. The comraderie is real, and it is also fime if you don't take it all very seriously, but some of us do try real hard, and there is plenty of room for us to stay in our own lanes. Take a breath and appreciate this beautiful piece of art and work they have put together for us, and enjoy your niche of the game, as all levels and play contribute to the whole, but accepting what their vision is will exponentially improve the fun as you find your niche and accept the terms of your service to super earth.
May your aim always be true, and your strategems never be jammed.

I've been watching videos about vacuum sealing Mylar bags using the Function test on Harvest Right. In one of the comments it was suggested to seal the bag with the resealable 'zipper" about 90-98% and use the vacuum function test to complete the process. I tried this a couple of times because it sounds completely plausible. I have not been able to either draw a vacuum OR have the process finish closing the 'zipper'. Anyone tried this? Success or Fail?. Need answers kind of soon. thanks

He would spend all of his money for my cravings, food, even clothes and bag just to spoil me.
He would crochet a whole damn bag and a top for me because he knew my receiving love language is acts of service.
He would always reassure me that I'm the only one he wants to spend the rest of his life with. And he's always consistent since day 1.
He never makes me feel jealous, unworthy, and he always makes my feelings valid. He has an emotional intelligence and would always comfort me whenever I'm down.
He would do anything for me, but i still pushed him away because that's how I respond to problems.
I grew up in a household where feelings were never valid and isolation and silent treatment was the only option. Growing up when I'm feeling sad or angry, i would always hide in the corner of our house, and there I would cry silently so that they would never know that I felt hurt. I never wanted to show them that i was crying. So whenever i feel something that is not happiness, I would isolate myself and not let other people see it.
That's why whenever me and my partner have problems, I would always ask for a break up. I would always isolate myself and I don't want to be a burden to him. Because growing up, i was taught that i have to deal with my own problems alone.

The young man named Aaron walked down the bustling college campus, he couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness coursing through his veins. This was the beginning of a next chapter in his life, where he aimed to meet new people and to learn a vast majority of knowledge from his teachers. With each step he took towards his new dorm room, his heart pounded with anticipation, and his mind raced with thoughts of what lay ahead.
Eventually, he reached the building that housed his dormitory. As he entered the hallway, the smell of fresh paint hit his nostrils, a sure sign of recent renovations. The walls were adorned with motivational quotes and colorful posters, creating an inviting atmosphere for the students. With his backpack slung over his shoulder, he followed the directions on the piece of paper that one of the faculty members gave to him.
Arriving at room 202, he paused outside the door for a moment. Taking a deep breath, he inserted the key into the lock and slowly turned it. With a gentle click, the door swung open, revealing his new sanctuary for the next academic year.
Aaron stepped into the room and was impressed with how clean and organized the room was. The room was comprised of two single beds tucked against opposite walls, each defined by their own corner. A large, sturdy wooden desk sat against the window, which gave off a lot of natural light that streamed through the slightly dusty glass panes.
Taking a moment to scan the space, he noticed the pristine white walls, no doubt most people would cover these bare walls with posters and pictures to give the room more personality. There was also two spacious closets, complete with sliding doors that would accommodate all his belongings.
His phone began to vibrate loudly in his back pocket. No doubt one of his friends was texting him to come see their dorm room. Aaron stuffed his hand into his pocket and pulled out his phone to respond to his friends text message.

He imagined himself sitting there, coffee in hand, taking a moment to appreciate the beauty and serenity that each day would bring.
From outside his dorm room he heard the footsteps of someone coming closer and closer. Aaron assumed that this individual was most likely going to be his roommate for this school year. The young man named Aaron walked down the bustling college campus, he couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness coursing through his veins. This was the beginning of a next chapter in his life, where he aimed to meet new people and to learn a vast majority of knowledge from his teachers. With each step he took towards his new dorm room, his heart pounded with anticipation, and his mind raced with thoughts of what lay ahead.
Eventually, he reached the building that housed his dormitory. As he entered the hallway, the smell of fresh paint hit his nostrils, a sure sign of recent renovations. The walls were adorned with motivational quotes and colorful posters, creating an inviting atmosphere for the students. With his backpack slung over his shoulder, he followed the directions on the piece of paper that one of the faculty members gave to him.
Arriving at room 202, he paused outside the door for a moment. Taking a deep breath, he inserted the key into the lock and slowly turned it. With a gentle click, the door swung open, revealing his new sanctuary for the next academic year.
Aaron stepped into the room and was impressed with how clean and organized the room was. The room was comprised of two single beds tucked against opposite walls, each defined by their own corner. A large, sturdy wooden desk sat against the window, which gave off a lot of natural light that streamed through the slightly dusty glass panes.
Taking a moment to scan the space, he noticed the pristine white walls, no doubt most people would cover these bare walls with posters and pictures to give the room more personality. There was also two spacious closets, complete with sliding doors that would accommodate all his belongings.
His phone began to vibrate loudly in his back pocket. No doubt one of his friends was texting him to come see their dorm room. Aaron stuffed his hand into his pocket and pulled out his phone to respond to his friends text message.

I love TMNT, DB, Marvel, DC, Star Wars, and One Piece in totality (as in watching, reading, figures). So for these it doesn’t matter scale or brand. If I see something related that I like I will get it. But I enjoy a lot of other figures enough to collect them. Wrestling, Power Rangers, NECA (Gargoyles, horror, DnD, Warhammer), Spawn McFarlane, My Hero Academia, Transformers, GI Joe, Voltron, I enjoy all of these figures/statues. Again, it doesn’t really matter brand or scale, though I try to keep it pretty consistent. I do not keep up with any of these IPs outside of figures though, and even then, I don’t really research what is coming out, I just find them when I find them. I currently have some Animal Warriors of the Kingom, Saurozoic, Biker Mice From Mars, and Street Fighter en route to my collection, that I believe will all fit in wonderfully. But money and finances aside, does anyone else collect A LOT of different stuff like this? Or mostly keep it to IPs (Star Wars, Marvel, DC, etc), or lines (legends, McFarlane DC, Black Series, etc)? I know a few people who love TMNT, but will only buy NECA (no playmates, loyal subjects, etc). I know others who will buy anything NECA, no matter character, but nothing else. Do you just love figures for the sake of it being a figure, or does it have to hit a specific mark for you? |

The new story's come and gone now and it seems to just be a reinforcement for what we've seen previously. We did already know that Remus tried to pull a Deshret but now we're seeing how far people go to achieve this flawed idea. Both Remus and Deshret before him realized just a little too late that preserved eternity was never going to work and dissolving everybody's consciousnesses into a collective goo was a bad idea. The Golden Slumber didn't save anybody and neither would melting people into Ichor, shoving their bodies into statues and then shoving them into a magical musical score. Ei lucked out in this sense. She had Yae pulling out all the stops to prevent it, using the Traveler to push Ei into place for Makoto to finally show her what she'd learned herself. So while it isn't groundbreaking to know that Boethius was wrong just like Rene would also be wrong centuries later I think this quest series gave us a few more details and showcased more of the research the miHoYo devs do for these regions. I think it's actually the first Fontaine city we learn about, all the way back when Inazuma first released. I don't think anybody really thought too much about it either but now it's name really makes sense. Petrichor is made from the two Greek words petr and ichor so in terms of Genshin it's very on the nose. Remus literally turned his people into ichor by dissolving their Oceanid bodies with the Primordial Sea and then shoving the resulting goo into statues, the petr or stone. In real life petrichor is just the smell of rainwater on dirt and the word ichor is actually what the Greeks called the blood of gods. From a Genshin perspective it was in a way what Remus intended the Ichor to be, a way for humanity to break free from fate which they believed was the power the gods had over them. But what is actually new is where Petrichor is. Previously we didn't even know that Fontaine was on an artificially raised platform so there was no reason to believe Petrichor would fall into some weirdly separated space yet still be called part of the region. Our oldest information about it was just that it's waters were very pure and it was beautiful. Yeah that's pretty much all of Fontaine though. In fact we knew so little about Petrichor back then that even by v4.3 Xavier, who is a local never talked about how it wasn't actually located on the Fontaine plateau but rather some separated area where even the drown-proof aspect of Fontaine's waters didn't reach. So what is this area of Fontaine called? Nostoi which is Greek for "return." In our world it was part of the story about the Trojan War, preceding Homer's the Odyssey and acts like a prologue for that part of the story, the return of the Greek heroes besides Odysseus back from the war. (There's an "Ajax" who dies in this story though he's not the same Ajax that Childe is based on.) Side Note: This timeline placement might also be important but that's a topic for another day. There's actually a French connection to Petrichor too probably to justify it's inclusion in a French region lol. If you talk to Xavier's childhood friend (and girl next door) Goldoni, her possessing Remurian tells you about Petrocorii a territory of Remuria that fell to barbarians. In our world the petrocorii were Gauls that opposed the Roman Republic during Caesar's time. Unlike petr-ichor, petro-corii is Gallic for four (petro) armies (corios) with corii acting as a common suffix for their tribes. Actually this connection to Gauls keeps going. In the same dialogue that Goldoni tells us about Petrocorii she name drops Lucius Septimius Sebelius which is a reference to Emperor Lucius Septimius Severus. (Sebelius is likely just an intentional bastardization of Severus but Sebelius is a real surname too.) Severus is notable for being the founder of the last Roman Dynasty before the Crisis of the Third Century, when Rome was temporarily defeated by the Gallic Empire. I actually brought up this part of Roman history in another topic about something that should have been totally unrelated lol. It was about how religion was historically tied to currency on our side of the world. Side Note: Goldoni herself may be a reference to the Italian playwright Carlo Goldoni. I bring this up because it's a common theme when it comes to Remuria but that's also a topic for another day. Finally when possessed Goldoni calls Xavier, Xaverius. This is a reference to Franciscus Xaverius or Saint Francis Xavier, the first missionary that went to Japan before it went into Sakoku. The name Xavier is interesting by itself though. It actually predates most of these references because it's a Latinized version of the Paleo-European (Basque) surname Echevarria meaning new house. The Basques are the last surviving ethnic group native to Europe (current Europeans are all some form of Indo-European, including the Celts, Romans, Germanics) and their modern populations are located in Spain and France, influencing both nations over time. Who knew our engineefilmmaker would be such an interesting reference to his hometown which also is a preceding ancient culture that heavily influenced the modern French-inspired one? Side Note 1: After completing the Remuria World Quest it's discovered that Petrichor is stagnating. The elderly are increasingly closed off and the young find the town boring and are starting to leave. This might be a reference to the Vatican which has the world's oldest median age. As the headquarters of Catholicism it's also very traditional and young people have been leaving it too, though part of the reason is disillusionment of religion over the many scandals plaguing the church. (That said the young Petrichorians might wanna stick around. If Mecantre and Babisse are brainstorming what I think they are then Petrichor might become really interesting one day.) Side Note 2: Geographically Petrichor would more likely be based on Corsica but there is no shortage of self-importance as a stereotype of the Corsicans. No young people are going to ditch that town anytime soon. It was the birthplace of Napoleon after all. However that could actually be the link to Petrichor, to the pre-World Quest version where everybody is a proud Remurian. According to a friend I have who is part French, as arrogant as the rest of the world see the French, the French see the Corsicans. That's how miHoYo's devs do things haha Now for a speed round. Hortus is the Proto-Indo-European for garden while euergetis is Greek for a worker who does good work. Together it probably means Garden of the Good Worker. However Euergetis can also be a title applied to good leaders specifically female leaders of the Hellenistic world. (Euergetes is the masculine form) Cleopatra III was also called Cleopatra Euergetis for example. The "garden" can only be reached by doing the World Quest so it's likely this garden honors Sybilla who does have the merits to justify the title. With Caesareum Palace I'm pretty sure miHoYo was going for the specific Caesareum of Alexandria so they mean a temple but that's not was Caesareum actually means. It just means Julius Caesar who of course doesn't exist in Genshin. (although going off of Rene's Root Cycle stuff he's supposed to show up sooner or later lol) Collegium Phonascorum is probably the easiest to match with the theme. It's just a group of music teachers. Since the whole thing was getting people ready for the Grand Symphony it makes sense to have some teachers teaching the music stuff. That said it's not actually a group at all. It's the name of a place and that makes sense with its real name 谐律院 or Courtyard of Harmony. Actually 谐律 is really fitting. The term does mean harmony but in both the sense of being united in peace and in terms of musical harmony, being in tune with each other. It's a very nice allusion to what the Grand Symphony was meant to do. That said Phobos is such a red flag lol! Phobos aka phobia is the God of Fear. Sebastos is the Greek version of Augustus. But I don't think Sebastos Remus is correct syntax. If this was Latin then honorifics come after the name so Remus Augustus. It would be just like the Guuji Yae issue. In English the localization team went with Guuji Yae but Raiden Shogun. Raiden Shogun is correct but because of that the correct syntax would be Yae Guuji, surnames followed by titles. In Greek we have Oedipus Rex or Oedipus Tyrannus so the titles do come after the name and therefore it should be Remus Sebastos. But I read somewhere that modern Greek puts the titles first like keerie Remus would be Mr. Remus and not Remus keerie. If there are Greeks reading this please advise thanks! Osse the cat first named himself Ouranides of Ouranopolis. Ouranides is just the name for the first generation of Titans because they were the children of Ouranos. I'm not sure what that was trying to reference for the game. Ouranos would be Saturn so he's one of the Classical Planets that have come up before. It is interesting to note that the children of the sea, the Oceanides were the second generation of Titans. Maybe Osse was trying to suggest that Remurians were the first generation of Fontainians while the ones we know of today (the former Oceanid humans) are the second? Anyway Ouranopolis is a real place or it was. It's just south of Macedonia. Today there's a small town there called Ouranopoli with a very lovely beach. Pretty sure that's not what Remus was going for when he called it the city of the future. And of course we learn that our keerie Ouranides is really Cassiodor based on Magnus Aurelius Cassiodorus who was born in Scylletium. Probably just a cute reference. Scylla himself is a reference to a monster from the Odyssey sometimes described like a hydra. (S)he was the lesser of two evils because the seemingly weaker Charybdis sucked up water and anything that happens to be floating on it. We have a reference to Charybdis too all the way back in the Narzissenkreuz World Quest when we go to Fort Charybdis Ruins. Anyway Cassiodorus was a contemporary of Boethius and actually replaced him as magister officiorum when he was accused and executed for conspiracy against Rome. Gee if only Remus had let Romulus run things huh? The Romurian Empire would've seen Boe-boe coming a mile away. That said his charges were trumped up. Real life Boethius was a good guy. He was trying to reunite the Western and Eastern Roman Empires. (albeit it probably wasn't going to happen since the "Western Roman Empire" we're talking about is Germanic Rome and even today we have trouble accepting that Rome.) Cassiodorus himself lasted much longer probably because he was stationed in the Eastern Roman Empire and became more focused on education than politics. Finally, he would retire to Castellum not a golden castellum but a monastery where he continued supporting education. Before we dive into the Faded Castle part there are NPCs that are also significant. First you have Contarini Tiepolo a cop whose name is actually made up of two surnames from important Venetian families. She interpreted some of her lingering memories from being possessed as the Liliacruces Ordo. This is another fiction actually. The Liliacruces Ordo is based on the Narzissenkreuz Ordo and was popularized in Fontaine's mystery novels that Paimon likes so much. Her father Tiepolo is the Doge. It's not bit currency but Italian for the Latin Dux or leader. It was a title used in the Republic of Venice and he's actually based on the first Duke of the city-state, Jacopo Tiepolo. The first piece of this melody is the Locus Amoenus or lovely place in Latin. The rest though are actually part of the Sequentia section of Mozart's Requiem which is of course a musical piece to honor the dead and also how we stop the Phobos. Sequentia is followed by the sinners being saved and brought to salvation in Offertorium, Sanctus, Benedictus and Agnus Dei. (Agnus Dei is an allusion to Jesus and there's another really obvious one in this quest too.) Mozart actually didn't complete his Requiem and died while only completing the introduction. Joseph von Eybler is the one that actually finished the Sequentia parts and then a guy by the name of Franz Xaver Süssmayr finished the salvation portions. Franz Xaver. Hmmmm. Yes Franz is Germanic for Franciscus or Francis and Xaver is the Germanic for Xavier. Cute that one of our first Fontainian NPCs and also a native to Petrichor has such a large role in its history, at least in real world references. Before heading into the painting portal thing to get to memory world Remuria we can find a few choice books in this castle. I'll get more into them later but for now there was one term that's interesting. Cunicoricus is the predecessor to Erinnyes of Aremorica. In real life he's Welsh and the adoptive father of King Arthur in local legends. Harmost is Greek, specifically Spartan for a military leader. As it relates to what Remus did during his conquests the Spartans used the Harmosts to undermine Athens push for democracy with the Delian League. Similarly Dominus is a title used by Roman Emperors only after the Crisis of the Third Century when it started declining and becoming more authoritarian. Dominus actually translates to head or master like that of a household. For instance Roman slaves addressed their masters as Dominus. And it's the household thing that plays out in the next term: Domus Aurea or the Golden House. (A dominus is the head of the domus.) It's cute to think this is some kind of link between Remuria and Liyue. Ashikai would love this kind of detail for her God King theory. But I don't think it's what it is. The Golden House in Liyue is literally just the Golden House 黄金屋 whereas Domus Aurea was 黄金的大宫. 大宫 is much more glamorous than 屋. For example the White House is 白宫 and 故宫 is the Imperial Palace. The real Domus Aurea relates more to that latter example. It was Nero's second home after he supposedly burned down Rome in 64AD just to have it built. Sounds about right with who we're dealing with in Genshin's version. Side Note: Actually could that be why there's a Caesareum Palace? I mean Caesar did burn down Alexandria. And then after he died Cleopatra built the Caesareum to commemorate him. So it could relate to Nero and then our Remus. What do you guys think? To get to Domus Aurea we're told we need to breach the Initium Iani. Initium means entrance and in the original Chinese it's door which actually works really amusingly with Iani or the Roman god Ianus because he's the God of Doors. Well pretty much all definitions for initium parallel what Ianus was so we could translate Initium Iani as the Doorway of the God of Doorways, Entrance of the God of Entrances, Transition of the God of Transitions, etc. The point was that Ianus represented a change in something like when you change rooms by going through a door, the changes in season every year or changing of the guard between historical periods. It's like the miHoYo devs just wanted to throw in a cute easter egg only nerds would get, the doorway to end all doorways lol Side Note: Also because their names are so close to each other apparently Janus (alt spelling for Ianus) got mistaken for Juno (Iuno is the more accurate spelling*) sometimes confusing which god represented which month. It's funny because I had previously brought up Juno (and the Golden House actually) in that totally unrelated topic about the Gauls and the history of currency. Again this is all probably just coincidental. I just found it funny. \or* Yuno for us anime fans. Rome's version was probably more stable though. One of the scriptures that keeps showing up for me and has absolutely wrecked me in the best way, has been Deuteronomy 1:33 "...Who went ahead of you on your journey, in fire by night and cloud by day, to search out places for you to camp and to show you the way you should go".

If you are interested/not familiar with Deuteronomy, this book is a series of passionate sermons presented by Moses to the Israelites during their journey from slavery into the Promised Land. Moses, the leader who rebukes them and guides them into fervently trusting and serving God, endures hardships over and over because of Israel's stubbornness and willingness to serve other gods in times of unbelief even though they have seen Yahweh prove Himself faithful to them time and time again. Even through Moses' faithfulness to Yahweh and his people, he is not allowed to enter the promised land; thus, why he is so passionate in these sermons to try and shepherd his people and ensure they end up with an unshakeable faith and leave them with a firm guideline on how Yahweh requires them (and future generations) to serve Him.
Deuteronomy 1 is the first example of how God has made a promise to his chosen people and they demonstrate unbelief in the face of their blessing after JUST being delivered out of slavery. Yahweh rebukes them and ensures his people that He travels by fire at night and cloud by day, defeating their enemies and causing them to flee so that Israel can enter the land being promised by God. He is a faithful and loving God who will show up in huge ways for his children, but requires total surrender and faithfulness to Him alone.

Also, here is a picture of what I am kind of wanting. I do like the clean lines and simplicity; however, I want it to be less cartoony/clipart-y and more...bold? I don't want it to be huge--I'm thinking forearm or maybe thigh, but whatever works best artistically. I like how it morphs the clouds, fire, morning star shape, sun, moon, etc all into a cross.

If you are interested/not familiar with Deuteronomy, this book is a series of passionate sermons presented by Moses to the Israelites during their journey from slavery into the Promised Land. Moses, the leader who rebukes them and guides them into fervently trusting and serving God, endures hardships over and over because of Israel's stubbornness and willingness to serve other gods in times of unbelief even though they have seen Yahweh prove Himself faithful to them time and time again. Even through Moses' faithfulness to Yahweh and his people, he is not allowed to enter the promised land; thus, why he is so passionate in these sermons to try and shepherd his people and ensure they end up with an unshakeable faith and leave them with a firm guideline on how Yahweh requires them (and future generations) to serve Him.
Deuteronomy 1 is the first example of how God has made a promise to his chosen people and they demonstrate unbelief in the face of their blessing after JUST being delivered out of slavery. Yahweh rebukes them and ensures his people that He travels by fire at night and cloud by day, defeating their enemies and causing them to flee so that Israel can enter the land being promised by God. He is a faithful and loving God who will show up in huge ways for his children, but requires total surrender and faithfulness to Him alone.

After utilizing AI to analyze what it could be, reading countless theories, speculation, and hints from the manga, I finally figured out what it is, and it's been right under our noses.
It's literally, One Piece of gold a.k.a "1 Berry", left behind by the first Pirate ever, Joy Boy.
Alongside of it, is his wanted poster, a horrible drawing of him akin to Sanji's wanted poster (because no cameras back then), that reads his bounty as exactly "$1 Berry" (a.k.a like Chopper's small bounty).
Think about it. The social classes, how pirates were/are viewed, the creation of the World Government, Poneglyphs, being the King of Pirates, Roger getting caught, all of it.
The Greatest Treasure in the world is literally what started it all, and is both priceless and worthless all at the same time. Joy Boy's gift to the world.

I’ll try to keep this short but I truly have no one to turn to. This episode has been building the past few weeks ever since I worked with a different team and the team lead just berated me nonstop. It shattered every ounce of confidence I had in myself and I’ve been spiraling since. I could really use some advice on whether I overreacted here.
I really tried to reach out to my closest friend the past few weeks but it truly has felt like she hasn’t cared. I stopped going to our regular bar I literally live right above because leaving my apartment started to give me so much anxiety. I had family issues and just wasn’t doing well. Last week or so we did meet up at the bar and played some pool and I tried talking to her about some of it but I felt so unheard and misunderstood. She kept saying “I feel that” and it just pissed me off so bad because no you don’t 😭. There was a lull in our conversation after a while and she just said “I think I’m gonna head out” and I took that as the biggest rejection. :( especially because she said she was going to a mutual friends band practice.
3 days ago we went out of town to some concerts we had planned months in advance. I knew not to go but didn’t want to bail last minute like she had on me many times before because I knew how that felt. But then her ex ended up coming and I had a good time the first day but the next morning when it was just us I tried talking to her again and got the same result where she barely offered any support and I got stuck in my head and withdrew and went nonverbal. It got on her nerves and was especially uncomfortable for her ex but I couldn’t shake it. And I couldn’t talk to her because of her dumb ex being there. When we got back in town and she dropped us off unloading the car she just dropped my bag in the road and got in her car and waited for me to pull out so she could park. That was another huge sign of rejection to me…just throwing my stuff in the street. So the next day I texted her nicely that I’d step back from being in her life not because she did anything wrong but she deserves to be surrounded by people who are stable and that’s not me. I didn’t want to just ghost her I wanted to give her closure as well. She replied but I honestly just deleted it without reading because I felt no matter what she said it was for the best. I do feel I made the right decision now neither of us are gonna be hurting each other….but I’m the most depressed I’ve been in a decade I think.
Idk I just had expected more support from her. I was there through her bad breakup and recent DUI (which is bad I know but she’s since quit drinking and I stopped drinking as well to support her) where I made sure she was fucking ok and got her out of the house and shit to the point that she thanked me for doing all that and being there for her later on. But I’ve been struggling and she never checked on me or made sure I was ok or anything despite still going to the bar with me living right upstairs. Her popping in to say hi or something would’ve made a world of difference??? Because I’d have done the same for her. Did I overreact or am I valid for being hurt for not receiving the same energy back? I feel like she’s the definition of a fair weather friend and I’m hurt because she’s been treating her new guy friends from the bar so much better than me, her only female friend. I don’t really have any friends now so I think that’s why I’m struggling with this decision, I feel so alone. I tried so hard to not act on impulse and think rationally about this but I guess it could’ve been my bpd again, I can’t tell. :(

Please be literate, descriptive and over the age of 18. I will be writing as three seperate characters who each have their own unique personalities. Your character is a human (or perhaps a different supernatural creature) who is in charge of taking care of these three orphans who reside in a large mansion. Deep within the darkened forest far away from any other civilization or people, a village full of Vampires lived in solitude. No one besides the villagers knew that this place even existed. They normally kept to themselves and it was absolutely crucial that they did not tell anyone that this placed existed. Because if they did, a large amount of humans would come and most likely end up destroying the village.
The village was very well maintained and every citizen had their own assigned duty to take care of. Even though it was still rather small, the village still had the necessary buildings to survive and thrive. They had a school, grocery store, farms and a random assortment of different buildings that included a museum, indoor pool, library and restaurants.
It had seemed like they were doing very well for themselves. However, they had one very big problem that they could not solve. Due to the severe lack of female Vampires, it was impossible to continue the "Vampire legacy" of living in this village. There wasn't a single female living in the entire village, only males. Due to this severe problem, the Vampire who was in charge of the village decided to invite one single female to the village and see if she would be able to get along with the other Vampires within the village. The whole point of this was to see if a non vampire can get along with other Vampires could get along in the first place. It was something that the whole village agreed on, considering that their race would eventually die out if they continued to do nothing about this problem.
The woman would be staying in the orphanage with three Vampire boys. If she was able to get along with them, surely it would be no problem to interact with the other Vampires of the village. This was a test to see if a human female was able to co-exist with another completely different species.
The orphanage was rather dark and dreary. Even though the building was rather large and had many windows, there was hardly any light shining through the windows because the curtains were almost always closed. Sunlight did not affect them at all, but obviously Vampires preferred to stay in the dark. It wasn't dusty or dirty at all, except for a few things that were left on the floor and never picked up.
The boys who occupied the Orphanage were named Drax, Athan and Cain. Drax was always the trouble maker who thoroughly enjoys teasing people and occasionally playing pranks. He was also mischievous and the oldest out of the three of them. Athan was straightforward and was basically the one always making sure Drax would not get into trouble. He is very responsible and makes sure everyone is taken care of. Cain was shy and hardly talked to anyone besides Drax and Athan. He normally kept to himself and it was difficult for him to open up to new people. None of them have even met a female before, let alone seen one.
High above on the second floor, Drax leaned against the railing with his elbows perched against the top of it. His bright pink eyes scanned down at the floor below, watching Cain draw a picture with a piece of paper and a wide variety of different pencil crayons. He leaned his face against the palm of his hand in boredom. "When is that new person supposed to be arriving? I'm getting tired of waiting." Athan who was also on the second floor adjusting a few pieces of furniture replied back to him. "I think she will be here in a few minutes. I'm very curious to find out what she looks like. I guess she will look a lot more different than a male, right?" Draw replied back. "I guess so. Hopefully she is pretty." He said, grinning evilly.
Athan rolled his eyes. "I doubt she would do that in the first place. Anyway, I'm sure it will be fun showing her around the village and visiting all the fun spots."
Cain continued to quietly draw his picture which consisted of a mansion with a bunch of bats surrounding it.
