Plan to write about my epilepsy and how learning about reading the brain waves during an EEG kickstarted my passion for computers and wanting to create hardware that could read and write directly to the brain.
P.S I'm genuinely unsure if I'm competitive or not, all the posts online are of these international students or minorities, but I'm literally just a dude who likes computers and school.
Will the B in Calc 3 be really bad for my application?
Other schools I'm applying to: Columbia, Washu Stl, Case Western, Cooper Union, Northwestern, UF, Georgia Tech, Co School of Mines

I'm not too educated on keyboards, I just bought whatever when I got my PC a year ago as I don't have the budget to spend on nicer mechanical keyboards or to collect keycap sets. However, I won a set of limited edition keycaps and I'm looking forward to putting some use to them as I was actually recently looking at keyboards with the same style of putting the symbols on the side of the keys. I was checking out my current keyboard to see if it'll be compatible but I'm not entirely sure if there's anything I'm missing, like for example how the set says it has MX style switch support and it seems my keyboard is a membrane type. I'm assuming this means I'd have to buy the switches, or an entire new keyboard? If so, does anyone have any recommendations? I do have a $50 Best Buy gift card tucked away if anybody can show me a nice one from there, but I'm open to other purchase locations/sites as well.

I want to build a low end new productivity for $300-500 and I was wondering what graphics cards would give me all the power I need. For reference, I will be playing some light minecraft with shaders, some 1080p video editing, media consumption, etc. I wanted to go down the route of getting a pre-built but still want the experience of building my own PC.
The RX 580 seems compelling at just a hundred bucks and would be just fine for my use cases but is there any other good value card or overall build for under $500 (this price has to include the windows key, the parts themselves, and a 1080p monitor). ZTT has some good ideas but I wanted to see the communities thoughts as well since you guys are probably pretty experienced.
Also I want this to perform better than my 2018 Macbook Air with Intel inside, and I'm sure that this will probably have a decent amount more power but am i right?

Gen 4 and Gen 6 are interesting picks for the basis of Legends games. And while we don't truly know what will happen in PLZA, I think selecting Kalos reveals some of the game pitch and the direction this is going.
Diamond and Pearl
In Diamond and Pearl, there was an event that never happened to battle and catch Arceus. With the key item Azure Flute, you would've been able to travel to Spear Pillar. However, Masuda later said the Azure Flute event was too complicated for players and the whole thing was dropped after the game's release.
D&P also had a number of other game issues including their small number of Fire-types.
Legends Arceus in some ways was revisionism for Sinnoh. GF aimed to redo the Azure Flute experience and add in more Fire-types including Cyndaquil and H-Growlithe. While many things changed, the game manages to deliver closer on the original promise for Sinnoh.
X and Y
If you take that mindset for PLA, it extends very easily to include PLZA. There have been a lot of posts over time over how X&Y feel unfinished, including the locked power plant, the ghost girl, the lack of a Zygarde storyline, and more.
Every so often you hear about some cancelled ideas for Kalos. I've heard they skipped Pokemon Z for Sun/Moon. I've heard X&Y were originally going to have a bunch of aliens in disguise roaming the region as invaders. I imagine there's a lot of ideas they scrapped.
Which is why they're going PLZA next. GF wants to deliver on a Kalos game of the scale they wanted. They could revise plenty of game points that were dropped before, and finish storylines they never did before. I think it's interesting that the Tapus and Ultra Beasts notably did not return to SV in any DLC. If they wanted to redo the alien plotline, they have a lot of ways to do that now.
I think we're still trying to figure out what a "Legends" game is, but I think a lot of it is about fan service.
Nostalgia
D&P came out in 2006. If you were a six-year old playing that as your first game, you would've been playing Legends: Arceus when you were 22. It was timed very well to those lukewarm players to recapture their nostalgia with a game that captures their interests specifically with the Azure Flute and Arceus. A Legends game, with an older main character and grittier storyline, does manage to feel slightly more mature in a way that should draw in a different player base.
As Pokemon gets close to its 30-year anniversary, they will need to keep finding ways to appeal to a wider player base. That means approachable games for new players but also deeper dives with nostalgia to keep others engaged in the franchise.
Legends: Kyurem?
I don't think there will be a Legends: Kyurem anytime soon. I know there are a small number of fans who really enjoyed the games and their sequels. They are games without major flaws. And that's why they're unlikely to get the Legends treatment. Using the same thesis above, I don't think there's anything major in these games that needs to be revisited. The only thing that never happened was the Lock Capsule event, which was so obscure you might not even know it existed.
Sure, there's the "original dragon", but I don't believe GF ever intended to add that to the game and then scrapped it last-minute.
Legends: Celebi
So with that in mind, I do think Legends: Celebi probably makes the most sense. Johto is one of the regions that underwent the biggest change in its entirety. Reading through beta content for G/S takes you through all kinds of interesting theories and what-ifs. Its locations changed a lot through development. I don't think the GS Ball event was ever distributed outside of Japan. The GS Ball was also dropped from the anime.
Other missing parts of the canon include the many scrapped Pokemon that were removed from the game including new evolutions, pre-evolutions, and entirely new designs. If GF ever wanted to revisit Johto, I would hope they go back into this list and pull out one or two of their favorites to make official.
Pokemon Go as a test bed?
Celebi plays a big role in Pokemon Colisseum, an obscure GameCube game in which it purifies the heart of a shadow Pokemon you 'snag'. So could Shadow Pokemon return in a Legends: Celebi game?
I think that Mega Evolutions coming to Pokemon Go in late 2020 showed these designs and mechanics had a lot of fan favor. I had really thought mega evolutions would be gone from the games entirely until they teased its return in PLZA. I wouldn't be surprised if their popularity in Go is what led them to reintroduce the mechanic.
Along the same lines, would shadow and purified Pokemon from Go ever be considered popular enough to make an official mechanic in a future game? G/S/C were about Team Rocket's return and using machines to draw out a Pokemon's strength (and rage). Sounds a bit like shadow Pokemon. They might do more revisionism and say they were always shadow.
This is all my personal speculation of course. But as we start to learn more about this specific series of games, I think it will definitely continue in the vein of bringing back older players by giving them answers to questions that were unresolved because the original answers were scrapped.

Long time lurker, first time redditoposter. I've been listening and reading a lot of these horror stories and figured it might be fun to share mine.
I haven't actually played a game of DnD or DnD adjacent since about 2020/2021, mostly because of what transpired during the games I actually did play before that. I love the concept, I love creating characters and stories and worlds, but I get a pit in my stomach when I actually try to play again.
I had my first opportunity to play DnD my freshman year of college. I dropped in on the campus tabletop club and I was quite anxious. I was the only girl in the room, everyone seemed to have known each other or clicked well, but I wanted to branch out of my comfort zone. The first night went well! We played a very quick heist one shot where we made a character with one flaw and one interesting trait. Through unfortunate rolls and circumstances, we had a TPK, but it was a fun time. I was invited afterwards to join a Pathfinder campaign that a few of the members were going to start up for the new semester, and so I scheduled a time to meet with the DM and create my first full fledged character.
Now, the DM was kind of eccentric, a little whack if you will but very excited to help me make my first character. I thought he was just goofy and really into the game. God I wish I picked up on all the red flags that would come.
He first asked me what kind of race I'd like to play as. I had always been drawn to tiefling characters because I liked the aesthetic. His eyes lit up at that for some reason. Then he asked what class I'd like; if I'd like to be primarily a support or tank or what have you. I didn't want to get overwhelmed in my first game and thought support might be nice. I could watch how combat worked while just keeping everyone going and buffed. I said let's try bard! The grin that crept up on his face...
He immediately started talking about how saucy that would be, how my character would be so flirty and fun. I expressed some discomfort in having my character immediately fall into the "h*rny bard" category I had seen meme'd on so much, but he laughed and waved it off by saying he "was a theater kid in high school! Everyone was super h*orny and making out backstage all the time. It just comes with the environment!" Being a new player, and wanting to fit in, I pushed down my discomfort and thought okay, I'll play her as a joke character I guess.
For awhile it was fine, I got to play her as a dancelyre player who was part of a traveling circus. Nothing weird was coming up the first few sessions. Most of the other PCs either joined together by taking quests from the town job board, or had ties built in to their backstory. My first red flag should have been that the DM, despite constantly raving about all his planning, was frequently skipping around the story. He would suddenly decide the plot point we were on wasn't interesting enough for some reason, and just throw us into another scenario. We left so many lose ends because he just didn't feel like finishing them, regardless of if we were engaging in it or not. But hey, he's the DM right? That's what I thought, he had the right to change it. I had no prior experience to see this was just bad DMing.
We ended up joining an archery competition as we were tempted by a mystery grand prize. At the sign up table, out of nowhere, the DMPC attending to registration suddenly starts flirting with my character. I got flustered in a negative way because this DM got very into character (giving me looks, leaning in as he spoke to me, the whole shebang). I panicked, all of a sudden being the focus of a room full of men seeing how I'd react to it. I again, stupidly, went along with it. I had her (nervously) flirt back lightly, and I was relieved it didn't go much further at that point. Skipping to the end of the archery competition, my bard ended up in the final two and sabotaged an assassination on the town's mayor mid competition. The party was invited to a celebratory dinner at the mayor's house afterwards, where we once again ran into the NPC that flirted with my character at registration. He invited her to bed, and again I got extremely uncomfortable and flustered. None of this was discussed beforehand, nor was I even asked if I was comfortable with such topics before joining the campaign. The guys at the table were egging me on, and I felt pressured to accept. With a few hoots and hollers, we had a fade to black scene (thank god). I went home feeling very icky, but convinced myself I was being a wimp. And the table had enjoyed my antics that night, so I should be grateful.
I had the thought between sessions to write in a childhood friends to lovers interest for my bard to try and avoid any more unexpected encounters like that again, thinking if the DM had another character to play as with some personal tie to my bard, that would make be feel better about the interactions. He was brought up once, where I milked the f*ck out of my character's attachment to him, hoping to drive home that this was juicy potential relationship to build over the campaign. He never came up again during that campaign. The DM also completely disregarded many of the notes I gave him detailing this love interest's personality, and took many 'creative liberties' with him, but not enough where I would decide to say something.
Another few sessions happened where we struggled through the DMs inconsistent storytelling and jumping around to whatever plot point had his interest at the moment. He was constantly putting us in fights we could not hope to win, way too challenging for our lvl. 1-3 party. We often sat around the table in disappointment and defeat as we got absolutely destroyed by monsters (no one being able to land hits for sometimes 3-4 rounds at a time because of how high the AC or CR was), while the DM laughed and basked in the dreary nature of the table. He would usually eventually fudge rolls to give us an out when we were close to TPKs. He even gave us a deck of many things and insisted our PCs "felt compelled" to pull cards despite the players disagreeing they that wanted to. He attempted to force my character to drastically change her alignment to an evil one for shits and giggles because of one card pull (later allowed me to ignore it because I didn't even WANT to use the deck), and got three of us killed by having them pull a card that summoned the highest CR monster you could use.
One night he texts the group chat that he decided he's done running that story, and wants to run another one shot instead. We had one last session to "close" that first campaign and discuss the one shot options. During our meeting, he gleefully admitted to me that he had planned for my bard to get PREGNANT in that one night stand with the NPC from the archery competition. Not only did he plan to do that without my consent or knowledge, he had planned for it to be a HAG baby that would have entirely f*cked my PC up (he explained it as the man having been a witch in disguise or something?? And said that's how hags are made? Which to my knowledge is entirely incorrect. Maybe it was a homebrew rule, but regardless, I was mortified. And now very grateful he lost interest in that campaign).
Moving on to the one shot, another player decided to try DMing, and so the Problem DM had a chance to be a PC, yay! He privately messaged me and asked if I'd be interested in connecting our characters and their backstories. I said yes and we got to work. We spent a few nights discussing their dynamic and I was really excited to go into this game. Well, come the night of the session, we were going around the table introducing our characters. The Problem DM went before me, and introduced an entirely different character than the one we discussed, and one that would often almost kill us during the one shot (to which the guy would cackle and mock us for getting upset each time). I asked him what happened to our plan, and he said earlier that day he decided he wanted to do something different. I sighed and let it go, because at least it was just a one shot and my character could still function without his connection to the other PC. Another one shot where the Problem DM got to be a PC, he seemed to make it his goal to be the biggest asshole to everyone else's character. My PC was an archaeologist, and when she excitedly discovered some old pottery in a dungeon, he had his PC run up and smash everything and laugh in her face.
The next campaign we tried that had issues was a Starfinder campaign. Our party was considered its own crew for a space ship, plus one DMPC that was placed into the mix supposedly to help us if we fell short, since we were all unfamiliar with Starfinder and spaceship battle mechanics. She was honestly a really cool character! And we had one or two sessions to establish the story and how the crew interacted. Now, this was my mistake, not taking any of the other creepy habits of the DM into consideration, but I offhandedly mentioned to the table at large that my PC (a woman) might be developing a crush on this DMPC (also a woman). They had gone through a lot together in-game at that point and it felt natural. The next session, you'll never guess, the DMPC started flirting hard core with my character. I was confused and asked the DM what that was about, as we had never had any interactions between those two that would be read as romantic. Even if I mentioned my character was crushing, she had never let it on, and the DMPC had never indicated she felt a similar pull as well. The DM didn't really have an explanation, just that apparently in-universe, the DMPC had been flirting more and more with my character since their last adventure together alone. I thought, okay, I guess...
Honestly? What transpired would have been an insanely cool plot twist if we had had the time to actually roleplay and develop the relationship between my character and the DMPC, as well as the crew at large and the DMPC. She ended up being part of a cult that wanted to steal an artifact we had acquired. She was apparently trying to 'romance' my PC because my PC was the one who often guarded the artifact, and needed her to let her guard down. It would have been a super impactful betrayal, but it was literally only a handful of sessions between the first meeting, and the plot twist. We just had to trust the DMs word that we had all gotten super attached to her between actual session meetings and we all should feel like we were stabbed in the back by this trusted individual. And I especially should feel heartbroken because she never really was interested in me anyway.
Later on down the line, despite some very interesting story points, it got creepy again. Our PCs ended up being sucked into a death game show, and isolated from the outside world while being broadcast to universal TV stations. At some point we were all given access to the internet after a few weeks in isolation to search up anything we wanted. Everyone searched up their names among other things. The DM described us finding our newly formed fanbases. He described the other PCs fanbases (men played by men) as having hot debates on their intelligence and decisions during the show, or bets on if they'd be the last ones standing; that sort of stuff. He described my fanbase as leering creeps saying the most unhinged things about what they wanted my PC to do to them s*xually, as well as some spreading photos of my PC without her face covering (she was a Kasatha, which canonically keep their mouths covered. But she had been forced to remove it briefly when it almost waterboarded her after she fell into a river).
Eventually, we weren't able to meet consistently enough to warrant running campaigns anymore, and I fell out of touch with all involved. Oh, we also lost a player at some point right after he confessed to me and I declined his interest.
I went another year not playing before another friend group of mine invited me to play as a guest character. I thought this would be a nice way to ease back into the game slowly after my horrid experiences before. Rather than make an entirely new character for one or two sessions, I brought back my tiefling bard because I still really liked her character, and had started to reshape her personality without being pressured to have her be a s*xual chess piece. The new DM dropped my character in a labyrinth their current party had been trapped in for awhile. I was made to be a level or two higher and be an ally they encountered to help them escape. We did, it was fun! But I was only there as a guest, and had only planned my character to be in one to two sessions before leaving. I was consistently mentioning to the party that my PC would be leaving as soon as they get to her major city, but either they didn't think I was serious or didn't remember. I may have been convinced to come on full time, but unfortunately, history repeats itself. We got to a session where the party got to a tavern and drowned their sorrows and nursed their labyrinth bruises with beer, and the idea of a threesome was thrown in the air between my PC and two others. Now, half of this group were dating someone else in the group, and seemed very comfortable roleplaying casual s*x between their PCs because of it. They started a damn chant pressuring me to say yes, already trying to roleplay it, and I felt sick. I was too anxious at the idea of saying no with how aggressive everyone was for me to agree, so I tried to "roll for yes or no" as an out; the dice failed me, and it rolled a number assigned to yes. I was very quiet the rest of the session, and afterwards messaged the DM that I want my character to leave at the beginning of the next session.
The DM then tried to convince me to stay, despite me saying a clear no multiple times within the same conversation. They begged me to stay saying the party loved my PC a lot, and they would hate to lose me. When they finally relented, they then tried to smoothly transition to talk of making me a new character so I could permanently stay with the party, without compromising my bards story and decision. I kind of got on their case about that, and told them to stop pressuring me and I did not want to play with that group anymore. Eventually, they gave up, but not without some low key guilt tripping.
I tried playing with one more group after this, and while it didn't get creepy, it was also a disappointment as none of the players seemed to care besides me and the DM, despite everyone having encouraged starting the game because they wanted to learn how to play for the first time. Players slowly started ghosting us, drama happened between two players that joined just to have an excuse to talk and try and date (which ended up very messy and they both left), and the new players would get angry at me or the DM if they got confused with the rules or combat dynamics (the wizard rushed ahead of me, the tank barbarian, and then acted like it was my fault when they nearly got killed in the first round because "the tank is supposed to protect the damage dealers").
The DM and I stayed in contact after all the other players ghosted the chat, and ended up bringing over some other new players who had also played before, and re hauled the campaign. This one had so much promise...then quarantine hit, and we couldn't keep up with regular meetings.
At this point, with all my games ending with creeps, messy player dynamics or falling through, I decided maybe these kinds of games weren't for me.
I have new friends now inviting me to play, who have very functional groups (experienced professional DMs, closeknit friend groups, long-running campaigns), but I am too wary to accept any more offers for games, despite deep down really wanting to try again and be part of something I know can be amazing. Maybe I will one day, but until then, I just have these horror stories to think about.

Thinking about all of this discussion about a stadium in a critical piece of downtown Albany I am reminded by the writing of Andres Duany, Elizabeth Plater - Zyberk and Jeff Speck in their 2000 book Suburban Nation. I could not agree with this more and if the problems described by Jane Jacobs in the below isn’t Albany I don’t know what is. The parking lot district must be developed into a lively neighborhood, not the latest mega project idea. To me it’s as obvious as it could ever be. All of the 29 parcels should be left small and must be sold to an array of developers, big and smaller, all backed by a special zoning code and a city commitment to build new roads, sidewalks, street lighting and park improvements. All of this is done with a common goal, to create the memorable downtown neighborhood that doesn’t currently exist.
“The new suburbs are known for their private yards, their tennis clubs, their golf courses and their guard houses. The city does not offer these amenities in abundance, nor should it attempt to. Perhaps he best known urban amenities are cultural and sports events. These are indeed an advantage of city life, but they are not the most effective way to renew a downtown as some suggest. These events may periodically attract suburban visitors, but they are not sufficient to persuade people to live or work in the city. The most significant amenity that the city can offer potential residents is a public realm, with the vibrant street life that phrase implies. Such an environment is the compensation the city offers customers for foregoing the suburban amenity package. If it exits, it can be enough, as downtowns from Manhattan to Portland show.
The key to active street life is creating a 24 hour city with neighborhoods so diverse in their use that they are inhabited around the clock. Eating. Shopping, working, socializing, no one activity can flourish in the absence of any other since they are all mutually reinforcing. As Jane Jacobs observed, a business district such as Wall Street normally cannot support restaurants as there are not enough local residents to generate adequate traffic. The restaurants are forced to make all their money between 12 and 2 PM. The same is true of other businesses such as health clubs which rely on both daytime and evening clientele. Urban revitalization, must begin then, by reinstating the balance among the widest range of local uses.
This is not to denigrate the positive influence of organized group activities and downtown is certainly the best location for the stadium and the performing arts center (which Albany has covered: arena, convention center, large theatre, small theatre, small music venue, outdoor amphitheater, plaza) especially given its ready access to transit as well as for the fairs and street festivals simply not possible in the suburban hinterland. But all the festivals in the world will not overcome the lack of a pedestrian friendly physical environment in getting people to come downtown. Convincing evidence of the power of successful urbanity can be seen in the many downtown destinations to which suburbanites will drive two to three hours for the experience of strolling, shopping and dining in a lively space. Greenwich Village, Coconut Grove and Georgetown have been spawned a new real estate industry classification “urban entertainment center”. Most of us would prefer to call it a city.”

Just picked up a K5 Pro last month to replace my G815 for aesthetic reasons: I hated how the paint on the keycaps chipped off over time, and my friends recommended Keychron since they have double-shot pbt keycaps.
Visually it's very nice and the feel is great (I got brown switches), but I've been experiencing a lot of inconsistent inputs that are seeemingly only getting worse: Keys will often have a long delay (showing up about a second after I've pushed the key, usually leading to a typo since I've already typed more letters by then), or input twice (I'll press "B" once and get "BB"), and sometimes, it just completely fails to register repeatedly as if the key is disabled: I can press "F" 10 times and nothing will happen for upwards of 15 seconds, then it'll start accepting inputs again (but the inputs ffrom when it's not working are completely eaten, and don't ever show up) - this has only happened to 1 key at a time max.
When I first got the keyboard, it was only happening on a few keys: F, Q and 7, but as the weeks went on I started noticing it from more and more keys, most recently F11 and B (granted, F11 couldd've been like that from the beginning, I just use it very infrequently)
These problems are extremely disruptive for both typing and gaming, leading to typos and failed actions; but I'm completely lost on how to solve them. I'm not sure what's responsible: The switches, the firmware, or maybe the USB-C cable? I've generally assumed it's the firmware, because when it's bad, the whole keyboard acts up. There are hour long periods where it works flawlessly, but then all the problem keys start acting up at once: Q, E, U, P, A, D, F, K, B, 7, comma, period, and F11. But I've also had instances that seemingly implied it was the switches (i.e I switched the switch on "F" with a switch from the numpad and it worked fine for weeks after I did), so, I'm completely lost now.
Dust and grime shouldn't be an issue, considering I've had it less than a month and keep my hands washed before using it, and it seems to be affecting wayyy too many keys for it to be something like that (Unless these things require way more frequent maintainance than I thought).
I'm hoping it's not a switch durability issue, as I was led to believe that "real" switches (red, brown, blue, etc) were way better than gaming keyboards with soldered switches.
I don't want to return it if I don't have to because I've heard Keychron can be iffy with returns, so I'm looking for any possible resolutions before trying?

I don't think a lot of people realize that Dawn of the Infinite has an additional difficulty above Hard Mode - called Deathless / Immortal.

The challenge is do all bosses on HM but have no one die from beginning to end (we've seen similar things in previous mega dungeons - Tazavesh and Mechagon). The 'Deathless' twist is four hourglasses that only prevent you from jumping - this isn't really a big deal and on Deos the hourglasses is auto-chucked by a player when they are near a keeper add.
The reward if you haven't done it before is an achievement plus transmogs. Relevant this season is that the final boss loot is upgraded from 509 Hero 3/6 gear to 519 Myth 1/4 gear. Some specs rely on Mirror of Fractured Tomorrows which is BiS for some specs since you can upgrade it all the way to 528.
Also relevant this week is the Dragonflight Dungeon bonus which upgrades Chrono-Lord Deios and drops an additional piece.
The Good

• I underestimate how much the key squish would affect Mega Dungeons. We've got this nice Normal raid experience with Mega Dungeon M0, then Heroic raid level with Hard Mode, and Deathless is akin to low Mythic raid level.
  I'm in favor of pushing more Mega Dungeon challenges and this fills in the niche that players wanting a small raid experience but don't want to feel 'rushed' by the timer in regular M+.
  
• HM puts in some nice interesting twists. Deathless on top forces in playing safer builds which can in turn create more interesting gameplay.
  

The Bad

• This is badly advertised. Wowhead seems content on spamming random posts even spamming the DF dungeon post twice despite having double 519 loot drops being extremely relevant to a lot of players.

  I tried to group finder PUG this but it took hours to get a full team because (A) people don't know about it (B) it is badly advertised (C) this is sort of a +10 difficulty level but pretty hidden in the 'HM' category which is kinda of a +5 ish in the 'Dawn of the Infinite (Mythic) category.
  Had to relent and corral and bribe guildies. I doubt I'll be doing this again this season but we're happy that two of the guildies got their BiS drops from the run.
  At least BfA Mechagon had the Rank 4 Essence animation plus mount.
  
• There's basically nothing that is relevant for Healers on Deos.
  
• Bullions should also include M+ dungeon items and Mega Dungeon items. I had so much trouble trying to find people for this, I can't imagine players who 'technically' have BiS items coming from Deathless specifically but can't run this because no one is interested.
  
• Deathless is a bit much. I'd recommend getting in at 515+ item level just to smooth out the damage going out. I wouldn't rank Chrono-Lord Deos 'harder' than say Mythic Igira this week, but no one can make a single death throughout the 1-2 hours of the run.
  This is akin to a +10 keystone right now in difficulty but no one can die.
  Deathless makes a lot more sense when you can come in with 30+ item levels. You can't really do that this season, and it isn't uncommon to have something random one shot you or some bug or something random kill you through no fault of your own on top of some random difficulty spikes (those eels near the Horde / Alliance timeway area can truck if you decide to pull them)
  I think we can redesign this so 'mythic' level ups the tuning and adds a small little extra twist. This smooths out the entire experience.
  
• Having to click through a variety of things to activate difficulties is a bit convoluted. I think a simple 'choose your level at the start' 'normal, heroic, mythic' is best.
  
• There should be an option in the group finder to indicate the difficulty level you want to participate in.
  

In short, liked what I got. Was interesting and different feeling from M+. Looking forward to Blizz's iteration on this system going forward especially with added QoLs.

Might not be the right /r but I want share my experience anyways. I recently got a Lenovo Legion Tower 5i pre-built pc from my local BestBuy (B660 MOBO/i5-13400f/32gb DDR5/512gb NVME SSD/550W PSU and RTX 3060 12GB) for $1200CAD on Sale. I had initially put these parts online and it came in only slightly cheaper on new parts but considering I did not have to put the time and effort to put it together and cable manage it I think it was an okay deal. This was my first gaming PC after almost 15 years since I moved to a PS4->PS5 and never looked back until now.
I decided to upgrade the GPU for a 4060ti ($500), I know, it does not meet the price vs performance ratio but it was what I could afford and I wanted DLSS Frame Gen. The 4070 next in line was $250 more expensive than this one and even a 3060ti was the same price so this is where I went, Yes, I wanted to buy new only.
But lol did I underestimate this simple exercise, turns out the pre-installed Windows 11 OS is a piece of crap! It would freeze every time I put in the 4060ti and when I went back to 3060 it would run fine. Every driver update would cause the PC to freeze (yes I tried the display driver reset key shortcut) but that did not work either! So yuck, please do a fresh install of Windows on your pre-built to avoid this!
Anyways, I just decided to do my own clean install. A small tip here for first time users, if you are buying pre-built first startup the PC using your Microsoft account so that the license key gets linked to it. Then when you use the Media Creation Tool to create a new Windows Copy it just takes the old key linked to your account and no more activation steps are needed!
Anyways, been 2 weeks now since the clean install build and no complaints, the 4060ti is OC and performs rather well. Oh, and another thing, when you do a OS Installation using the Media Creation Tool remember to have it hooked up to Ethernet because it won't install the Wifi drivers automatically. My router was 25ft away, so my wife wasn't exactly thrilled with the cat6 line running through the middle of the house! But hey, it needed what it needed. I got a decent setup now and just wanted to share my experience. Let the Hunger Games (for my GPU choice) begin!

We reset a PC to factory setting but now in settings it is requiring us to enter an activation key to reactivate Windows. Where do we get that key from?

Hello, I’m coming here as a bit of a last resort. This is my first time building and even owning a PC so I’m not the most well versed when it comes to this stuff. I spent a lot of time doing research and learning, and even followed a video guide when building. Everything was going smoothly however I’ve now run into an issue:
So after successfully building my first PC with no issues I downloaded the windows 11 installation files onto a flash drive, and set up windows 11 (without a key) on my new system. The next day I began to set up all the other after-build things like downloading the drivers for the motherboard and the gpu and changing a fan speed and the xmp in the bios, I also went ahead and downloaded coretemp. At some point I went AFK for no more than an hour and when I came back I noticed my mouse was laggy, tried unplugging it and plugging it back in and anything else to make sure it wasn’t a fault on the mouse (this is where the problems began). I realized windows 11 itself had froze, so I turned off my pc and booted it back up, loaded it up and was able to log into windows fine and then maybe 2 minutes later, it did the exact same thing. laggy mouse cursor and then total freeze. Another 3-4 times of this happening I had the blue troubleshooting screen pop up in which it gave the option to hard reset the pc. Seeing as I didn’t really have anything to lose data wise, I figured I might as well and just start from the beginning again. Booted it up to the motherboard manufacturer screen popping up and pc continuously resetting, realized I had to reinstall the windows on the flash drive again, did that, and now when I go to install windows 11 again the same way I did the first time, it just freezes. My cursor doesn’t move and the screen is just stuck. The farthest it got to was “Getting files ready for installation: 45%”. Now it won’t make it past “Copying Windows files”.
I’ve tried setting the bios back to default and pretty much every option on the troubleshooting screen of windows that pops up when I reset it, to no avail. I wiped the SSD clean as to possibly purge any files from the original install of windows maybe somehow still messing with something? didn’t work.
Could it possibly be a hardware issue with one of my components causing the pc to freeze? Is there ant way to check? I honestly don’t know, I’m a bit out of my element here and looking for any and all support/recommendations. I’d be shocked if anything was broken as everything was bought new and the pc initially was running fine.
Just in case they’re needed, these are my specs:

Hey all, I'm a new 4KP Attack from Mars owner, but not new to virtual pinball. I'm sure you've all seen the discourse, but many people aren't thrilled with the lag on the 4KP right now, myself included.
Opinions here seem to range from "this is not a problem, calm down" to "native Zen tables are literally unplayable." I land somewhere in between.
I've had some free time over the last week, so here you go: an unnecessarily in-depth look at the state of input lag on the 4KP as of early May 2024. Everything was measured the week of 5/6.
Ideally, my setup is going to be mostly used for OTG play from my PC with Popper as the front end, so my main goal with this process was to calculate the 4KP hardware's "added lag," which I'm defining as lag above and beyond what I get when using a wired keyboard and low latency gaming monitor.
I don't want to bury the lede too much, so let me put some of my conclusions up near the top:

• OTG input lag is noticeable, and IMO is a problem*, especially with Pinball FX.
• Native non-Zen table input lag is excellent.
• Native Zen table input lag is a problem*, and is roughly 2.75 times higher than non-Zen table input lag.
• The 4KP hardware seems to be adding roughly 35-60ms (average ~43ms) of total input lag on OTG VPX as compared to a keyboard + gaming monitor setup.
• Added OTG input lag is being introduced both from button to PC (~10-15ms) and from PC to playfield (~35-35ms).

*I'm defining "being a problem" as lag significant enough to cause some completely missed hits and ball drains. In other words, the issue isn't just needing to learn new timing for precision shots. Basically, situations where my reflexes are fast enough, but the hardware isn't.
Measurement
What matters in virtual pinball is total input lag or latency, as measured from button press to flip. That means I'm not looking at, for example, VPX's self-reported video latency.
For measurement I used high frame rate video, which is really the best way to measure total latency with the actual vpin software in a real world use situation. I used the iOS app Is it Snappy? with my iPhone 15 Pro Max. The phone can do 240 frames per second for a frame duration of ~4.2ms. In the app, you tag the frame where the flipper button was pressed and the frame where flipper motion is first seen, giving us a maximum measurement error of ±~8.4ms, but likely much lower.
To standardize as much as possible, when tagging the input frame I tagged the frame that best represented the button being fully pressed. This goes both for the 4KP flipper button and the keyboard button. This seemed like the best way to be consistent from measurement to measurement. I'll also note that doing this errs on the conservative/low side since both flipper buttons and keyboard keys are actuated before they are fully pressed. So the "true" input lag should be slightly higher even than I'm reporting.
I measured a lot of variables that ended up not making a meaningful difference for my setup. Direct X VPX vs Open GL VPX - didn't seem to matter. DisplayPort to HDMI cable vs HDMI to HDMI cable for the playfield - didn't seem to matter. VPX backglass running in .exe mode or not - didn't seem to matter. Having no VPX backglass at all - well this one did seem to show a very small potential gain, but it was within the margin of error.
Your Brain
One last and important bit of context: research seems to show that the human brain perceives anything under 100ms as an instant effect when pressing a button. Source: Google. That may be true in terms of a value judgment of "was that instant?," but we can still feel the difference between, for example, 50ms and 100ms of total lag. We could still set 100ms of total input lag though as a soft target or maximum lag that still feels purely good. For me, somewhere in the 100-125ms range is where it starts to feel sluggish, and somewhere between 125ms and 150ms is definitely where it starts to feel bad. I don't have a firm line on what qualifies as unplayable, and I'll leave that to each of you to decide for yourselves.
Results:
To keep things consistent, my VPX table was this version of Attack From Mars because it was specifically tagged as having fast flips and wasn't a brand new table with all the latest bells and whistles. These numbers represent the average of at least 3 separate measurements.

So there you have it: an average of ~131ms of total input lag when playing VPX in OTG mode. The 4KP hardware seems to be adding roughly 10-15ms of lag on the input side and roughly 25-35ms of lag on the output side, for a total of ~35-60ms of added lag. This is definitely falling short of my soft target of 100ms or less of total lag, which explains why OTG play on the 4KP doesn't feel great right now. Pinball FX is especially bad at ~150ms of total lag, which feels borderline unplayable to me. The native Attack from Mars table is similar right now to VPX OTG. If this level of lag doesn't bother you, I'm happy for you, but it definitely bothers me.
A few last notes:

• I did measure a few different tables in VPX, and some did show PC to Monitor w/ keyboard numbers as low as ~50ms. So even within VPX, there is definitely a range of total input lag that we'll experience. Some tables likely will hit that 100ms or less target.
• I didn't want to clutter this up with another column, but measurements did show that running through Popper may introduce some additional input lag. It was in the 8-12ms range, so not enough outside the margin of error that it made me want to investigate in more detail.
• I replaced the stock 4KP flipper buttons with aftermarket gold leaf buttons, and that is what was used in my measurements. They are allegedly more responsive than stock, but I didn't measure that.
• PC specs: Intel i5-12600KF, 32GB DDR4-3600 RAM, NVME SSD, 4070 GPU, custom usb-c keyboard, Acer Nitro monitor-150hz-led-monitor).

Hello friends! I understand the post is quite off topic but I figured this would be the place people are most knowledgeable about insides of the console.
I am 100% a PC player and never had a console before. I am also hugely autistic about stalker video game series, and they have recently released a console port of their games which has quite a few differences from PC version. I want to analyse them, but it’s very hard to do in-game, and if I had unpacked game’s resources it would be very easy to compare them to PC version.
I just bought PS4 specifically to tinker with that specific game and I am ok with jailbreaking it, downgrading or doing virtually anything if it means it could help me unpack the game. However, I have no idea where to start so this is why I am coming here for help. :£
I understand that all PS4 games are AES256 encrypted, however, I know that people have managed to somehow get keys for other games (eg GTA) in the past and likely not by brute-force. How did those people do it? Was there a vulnerability allowing you to somehow get encryption keys?
Is it possible to somehow get the resources from a game through jailbreak or any other means?

Currently running an outdated ASI laptop to play Assetto Corsa with mods but the moment I turn on weather fx or a post processing filter my fps nose dive, I am new to PC gaming and a mini pc seems like it might be the no brainier way to get the full sim racing experience without burning 1,000 hours learning about pc components. Does anyone have experience using a mini pc for these purposes? Am I looking at the wrong "turn key" product possibly? I don't see myself taxing the pc much harder than fully modded sim racing, but I do use a VR headset that piggybacks off the PC and intend to be in online servers. Assetto Corsa 2 is on the horizon but I would be willing to bump down settings a little if a new game exceeded the demands of fully modded Assetto Corsa, I just really want the full value of current gen assetto. I'm hoping there's a sub $1,000 model that meets my needs but I'd be thrilled if I could get one around $600. Over $1000 and I feel like it would be worth my time to research doing a DIY traditional PC build but I'm not actually sure what my needs are at this point so I'm hoping someone has a similar experience they'd share.

I have used a random Microsoft office 365 key to activate my PC office is it safe.
I have found the key online and it did activate it for couple of days and now still asking for the key again.
I just want to make sure it’s safe in terms of privacy and malware.
I won’t even enter the key again.
If is not safe should I do clean windows install and delete all my drivers.
