Neighbors,I spoke with CalTrans today and they are on schedule to fully reopen the HWY 84 slide area before Friday, May 31st. This Sunday [May 26], CalTrans will be paving the slide area but this work should not affect the flow of traffic during the weekend. Following the paving, CalTrans will re-stripe the slide area but this also should not affect the flow of traffic. The one-way light control will remain in effect while CalTrans paves and re-stripes the slide area. Following the full reopening, you may still see CalTrans work crews doing pickup work and attending to other HWY 84 projects such as repairs near Friar's Lane, correcting uneven pavement, and improving areas that have suffered from settlement issues. These additional projects may require flaggers to direct traffic. I also reminded CalTrans that they have not yet mowed the high grass at the corner of Portola Road and HWY 84. I just recently finished a perfect deathless nuzlocke run of Vanilla Emerald (in my runs, a "perfect run" is battling every single trainer and getting all of the possible encounters), and I wanted to provide some tips for those wondering what to do for fights or encounter routing for dupes clause. Before I begin, here is my ruleset:
-Standard deathless hardcore nuzlocke rules (1st encounter only, gym leader level caps, set mode, no items except for held items, 1 death = reset).
-Shiny Clause: I can freely catch a shiny, but I have to use it on the E4 team (for the Champion Picture).
-Rare Candies are hacked in to avoid grinding and time poorly wasted.
-Battling wild encounters for the sake of grinding EVs is banned (This makes the game MUCH harder as you can only grind EVs off of the limited number of trainer battles).
-Rematching trainers is banned (Limited EV investments and limited money).
-Level Edging is banned. Once the Pokemon has reached the level cap, they are boxed until the gym fight.
-Legendaries are permitted if they are under level cap. In other words, Rayquaza is unusable, but the Regi Trio is fair game.
-Wallace is the end game.
Roxanne Split:
I prefer getting the following encounters, in ideally the following order:
-Mudkip on Route 101. He is undisputedly the best starter. Reset for a better nature/IVs than mine. I had Bold with bad IVs.
-Poochyena (Explicitly for Dupes Clause and Tate & Liza)
-Zigzagoon (HM Mule + Pickup. Reset if Zig is not the encounter on routes 102 or 103.)
-Wurmple (Reset game to roll Dustox)
-Taillow (Repel manip @ Level 8 on Route 116 for a 91% chance at rolling Taillow, after nabbing Poochyena. Reset if the game rolls Skitty. I also don't play with Shedinja, so no Nincada, not to mention Nincada is heavily inconsistent to encounter.)
-Whismur (Rusturf, useful for almost all of the repel manip strats)
-Shroomish (come back after getting Wurmple and Taillow for a 75% chance at getting Shroomish. Reset if Slakoth is rolled.)
Yes, I reset for ideal early game encounters. This set of encounters makes the game so much smoother. There is lots of coverage in this team and there are almost no chances for deaths if you play around crits and Bide Seedots. Use documentation in case you do not know what you are facing next.

• All of these particular encounters are about a 1 in 6 to get if done correctly.
• Taillow is great once it gets Wing Attack at Level 13.
• Zig should be Level 11 or higher for a small chance at picking up King's Rock.
• Whismur and Poochyena should not be past levels 13 and 14 respectively (for the next repel manip).
• I reset if Wingull appears, as you can catch one on the water routes after you obtain Surf.

Roxanne Fight: Use Mudkip for Roxanne's Geodudes and Shroomish for the Nosepass. Leech Seed until you win.
Brawly Split: Magikarp, Tentacool, and Repel manip @ Level 10 for a guaranteed Makuhita.

• Aron is not reliable besides boom fodder from Exploding Koffing
• Sableye is unnecessary if you have Dustox/Beautifly to fight Brawly with (plus you get one in Cave of Origin after catching Zubat in Seafloor Cavern).

Brawly Fight: Solo with Dustox/Beautifly or poisoned Taillow. Unpoisoned Taillow gets killed by Makuhita nearly every time.
Wattson Split: Roll your Route 117 encounter before rolling your Route 110 encounter. Remember your repel manip Poochyena and Whismur? Use these now. You want Level 14 Oddish on Route 117 and any of the other Level 13 encounters (repel manip to avoid Wingulls) on Route 110. Any encounter will do fine. If you roll Electrike here, you will need to roll the tedious 1% Kecleon on Route 118 (I typically go for Sharpedo on Route 122 for anyone trying to point out Carvanha).
Wattson Fight: This is a tough one. I make sure that Marshtomp, Breloom, Hariyama, and Gloom (if I rolled an Oddish) is all on my team. I hate that the AI is really stupid, so I typically do not bring Gyarados for that reason, unless I am intentionally switching between Gyarados and Marshtomp (Gyarados is great for pivoting in Rom Hacks where the AI is smarter). Equip a bunch of Cheri Berries onto everything, and maybe a Persim Berry on Marshtomp if you received one from the flower shop on Route 104.
Flannery Split: There are a lot of potential encounters here. Here are some highlights:

• Bring a Level 16 Pokemon with you for two different repel manips (Fiery Path and Route 113) and then once more at level 18 on Route 114 for Lombre. Repel manipping at Level 16 in Fiery Path eliminates the Slugma and Grimer encounters which are both pretty bad. If you want to increase your chances at Skarmory on Route 113 (explained in detail a few lines down), you can try your luck for Slugma here. Lombre sucks but Ludicolo will carry in the E4 when you give it Fake Out, Giga Drain, Surf, and Ice Beam.
• Repel past the Rock Smash rocks on Route 111 to avoid Geodude. If you do NOT roll Torkoal in Fiery path, get the Geodude so that you can guarantee Torkoal in Magma Hideout after Winona. Graveler is decent for Maxie, Flannery, Norman, and Winona. Garbage afterward. Geodude and Graveler are also harder to obtain in Magma Hideout because they will then have acquired Self-Destruct (Acquired at Level 21).
• I actually go for Skarmory here now. Waiting to roll Electrode in Aqua Hideout, then 50% chance for Magnet Pull Magnemite in New Mauville, then 55% chance for Skarmory on Route 113 is so tedious, and Skarmory does not have much use after Aqua Hideout anyways. It comes out to about a 26% chance to get Skarmory by doing all of this dancing around. But by repel manipping at Level 16, Level 14 and 15 Spindas and Slugmas do not appear, making Skarmory's chance of appearing significantly better because he is ONLY found at Level 16. It is approximately a 14% chance from the original 5% chance for Skarmory to appear. If you roll Slugma in Fiery Path, those odds are increased to approximately 19% Perma-box the encounter if you do not roll Skarmory.
• Save Meteor Falls for the 50/50 Bagon.

Nothing else major to note. Numel is nice to have for Winona (Evolves into Camerupt right at level cap). Spoink is guaranteed if you roll Numel and Machop. I've heard of useful strats out of Grumpig, but have never utilized those strats myself.
Maxie fight: Gyarados and Hariyama do well here. Graveler is notable. Marshtomp is ok. Bubblebeam Azumarill is great, especially if you have Thick Fat.
Flannery Fight: Oh boy, our first real run-killer if playing deathless like me. Everything can be washed away with Bubblebeam Azumarill or Tentacool except for Torkoal. Don't let her set up Sunny Day and don't get crit. Sometimes stealing her White Herb can help but it can also waste a turn for Sunny Day set up. Double Team is useful, but set it up on Slugma (Tentacool is ideal, just watch out for Body Slam crits from Torkoal, as those WILL kill without EV investment). Thick Fat Azumarill is actually ideal for this fight. Graveler Magnitude 10 will one-shot Torkoal. Dragon Rage Gyarados is great even though Intimidate does not work because of White Smoke. Try to avoid using Marshtomp, aa he does not do enough damage. Wobbuffet can be useful, but it is a guessing game on what move Torkoal will use.
Norman Split:

• 50/50 for Trapinch. Good luck. If Sandshrew is rolled, give it the Dig TM for Norman and caves. He is otherwise the best candidate for Dig. If you do roll Trapinch, wait to evolve into Vibrava until Level 41 so that it gets Dig.
• Also, the fossil is open for fair game. I typically pick up Lileep for fishing, since the Suction Cups ability increases the chance of encounters appearing vis the rods. But Protect Battle Armor Anorith is a nice option for Norman.
• Watch out for the trainer with a Slakoth in the gym, as it knows Counter and will one-shot your Breloom or Hariyama if you are not careful.

Norman Fight: Here's my strategy. Persim Berry Hariyama will kill the first three mons on Norman's team. Do NOT use Fake Out on Spinda, as it knows Encore. Just click Vital Throw three times. Make sure Vigoroth does not crit, otherwise you might need a backup mon, like Breloom.
When Slaking comes out, send in your Torkoal, Anorith, or Dustox (or Pelipper if you don't reset for early game encounters like me and you do catch Wingull early). Equip a Leppa Berry on your Protect mon and slowly whittle away the brute. Sandslash is also okay if you know whether you are faster or slower, as Dig can be handy if you have good defensive investments. Remember that if Slaking is intended to attack on the turns Norman heals, Slaking will NOT attack next turn. If he heals on loaf turns, Slaking WILL attack the following turn.
Winona Split: Here's a list of the encounters you should roll, in the following order:
-Wingull on Route 109
-Electrike/Manectric/Kecleon on Route 118 (Repel manip @ Level 26 if you are going for Electrike/Manectric.)
-Wailmer w/ Good Rod on Route 108 (you can also get this on the eastern water routes, I tend to forget about him if I catch him later though).
-Feebas on Route 119. Yes, get the Feebas. This is the ONLY reason I choose the Root Fossil (Lileep) in my runs, is that Suction Cups increases the likelihood of rod mons to appear, including Feebas. Fish 2-3 times per tile and move on. You only get the lower section to work with (since the upper section is unlocked after obtaining Castform, which would be your encounter for the route). I've gotten Feebas as early as the 2nd and 4th tiles on two separate save files. Use Kelpsy Berries to evolve into Milotic. Surf, Ice Beam, Toxic, Recover. Boom, you have a lethal weapon on your team.
-Wait for the Route 115 encounter until after rolling the repel manipped Level 39 Altaria at Sky Pillar.
-Anything except Kecleon on Route 120. Absol can ruin your day with Swords Dance/Quick Attack/Razor Wind.
-Notice how Route 105 was not mentioned. This is just in case you roll the 5% Underwater Relicanth so that you can bring Regice to the E4.
Notes: Trainers begin to get tougher now, with halfway decent strats and cores to ruin your day. Read the docs to know what you're facing. Make good use of the Exp Share, Amulet Coin, and Macho Brace in all of your battles. If you are Exp grinding, make use of the day care, just make sure your useless moves are in the top slots so that you don't lose a good move you can't get back. Remember also that the day care does not EV train your Pokemon.
Winona Fight: Use Bolt Beam Gyarados and sweep. That's it. Alternatively, Camerupt and Manectric are good choices.
Tate & Liza Split:
-Shuppet on Route 121
-Duskull on the upper levels of Mt. Pyre
-Safari Zone Encounter (Psyduck, Girafarig, Pikachu, Doduo, Rhyhorn, Natu, etc.): Go for the easy-to-catch encounters if you are playing hard Safari Zone rules (1st encounter only, no 2nd attempts for run-away mons). I like rolling Psyduck because they are guaranteed and are easy to catch.
-Kecleon on Route 123 if he is not already caught
-Magma Hideout encounter (Torkoal or Geodude/Graveler)
-Electrode in Aqua Hideout (Use the Master Ball sitting next to the Electrode, as you will not need the Master Ball more anywhere else more than on an Exploding Electrode. Your only other option is Damp Psyduck from the Safari Zone, whose ability is a 50/50 roll. and nearly dies to Spark Crit anyways.)
-Magnemite in New Mauville (Magnet Pull is preferred if you still have not rolled Route 113.
-Skarmory on Route 113 if you don't take my advice and roll for him in the late game. Just make sure Magnet Pull Magnemite is your first member in the party.
Get the Super Rod and use it for the following encounters (just be careful of over-leveled trainers) in no particular order:
-Staryu in Lilycove City (Can be used in E4)
-Luvdisc in Evergrande (Useless)
-Corsola on Route 128 (Mostly useless, this can be swapped with Luvdisc)
-Horsea on Routes 132, 133, or 134 (Useless without trades, with the exception of being a useful HM Water Mule)
-Corphish in Petalburg City (Useful for Tate & Liza)
-Sharpedo on Route 122 (Useful for Tate & Liza)
Once again, watch out for tricky strategies.

• Don't hesitate to battle trainers in single battles rather than double battles (Looking at you Rain Thunder Manectric & Weather Ball Castform combo on Route 120).
• There are a few Wobbuffets at this point who will ruin your day. One sitting at the top floor of Mt. Pyre and one in the purple room of the Mossdeep Gym. Use your Milotic or Dustox with Toxic, Will-o-Wisp mons, or Leech Seed Breloom to handle the Wobbuffets.
• Slaking double battle on Route 121 can be deadly.
• Magnet Pull Magneton can ruin your day on Route 123.
• Bring Gyarados or Pelipper to Maxie 2 as well as Hariyama and Manectric. They are also both useful in warding off wild encounters with their respective abilities (both Intimidate and Keen Eye reduce the likelihood of wild encounters appearing).
• Aqua Hideout is a cakewalk compared to Magma Hideout.

Tate & Liza Fight: Get ready to kill them quickly or be killed. My strat is as follows: Poisoned Swellow uses Facade on Xatu to OHKO it. Wailord uses Protect on the incoming EQ from Claydol or Water Spout if it is faster. Swellow either Facades again on Claydol, Protects, or switches out to a Water or Dark Type. Wailord blasts Claydol again or switches to something else. Some notable switches:

• Cloud Nine Golduck does well for the Sunny Day Solrock
• Mightyena gets Taunt right at Level 42
• Gyarados is immune to EQ and gets Surf
• Sharpedo and Crawdaunt do well with Surf/Protect if their Natures and IVs are not terrible

Make sure to have 2 dark types at minimum for this fight and leave Lunatone to be the last one on the field. Even though it has Calm Mind, the only attacking move it has is Psychic.
Juan Split:
-Underwater Encounter. Yes, the location description is "Underwater," not "Route 124." You want Chinchou, regardless of whether it has Volt Absorb or not (VA is a plus). Manectric and Electrode both have a 50/50 chance of having the Static ability, which boosts the chance of electric types appearing when the beholder is first in the party. It does not make Chinchou guaranteed, but much more likely to appear than the less-than-fortunate 30% chance. This is why Pikachu is an option in the Safari Zone since it is guaranteed to have Static. Just make sure you feed the PokeBlock feeder the color that Pikachu likes (never used this method myself but there are articles about it online) to have a good chance to catch it. Relicanth is nice for Regice. Clamperl would be good if you could obtain it early game but you can't. Even with the DeepSeaTooth and Shell Armor it simply cannot do that much.
-Seafloor Cavern: Get the Luxury Ball first in the Abandoned Ship and then catch Zubat here. Bring Vileplume/Bellossom with Sleep Powder and then whittle it down with other moves to have the best chance for capture with the one Luxury Ball you are guven in the entire game.
-Shoal Cave: You do Seafloor Cavern first to guarantee Spheal here. Spheal is better than Snorunt. Trust me.
-Cave of Origin: Sableye (Useless)
-Sky Pillar: Repel manip @ Level 39 on the 2nd to top floor for a guaranteed Altaria. It does not have Perish Song. That is much safer than playing with an Exploding Claydol.
-Route 115: NOW you may get your useless Jigglypuff.
Get the Blue Shards and Water Stones. These are useful for Lombre and Staryu. Everything else is mostly useless except for a Leaf Stone if you are evolving Gloom into Vileplume (do it after level 35 for Moonlight).
Besides Archie (Use Hariyama, Manectric/Electrode/Magneton, Gyarados, etc.), this is a fairly easy split and you can obtain a LOT of money from the trainers underneath Juan's gym with the Amulet Coin. This is useful for all the TMs in the Game Corner.
Juan Fight: Use your electric type on everything except for Whiscash and Kingdra. Whiscash is defeated with a grass type, just kill it before it sets up Amnesias and PP stalls you out of your grass type moves. Alternately use a powerful physical attacker who doesn't die easily. Kingdra can be PP stalled with a recovering water type, and that is usually your best option. Once again Milotic shines here. Starmie is also rather good here, given you made sure to teach it Recover before evolving it. Otherwise, you can use a mon with Shock Wave/Faint Attack/Aerial Ace/Magical Leaf and some sort of recovery, and wish for a crit.
Elite 4 Split:
-Bagon in Meteor Falls. Watch out for Fire Spin trapping Solrock, as I had to reset once here this late in the game because of it.
-Aron/Lairon in Victory Road. Cradily, Exploud, and Soundproof Electrode are your three options for catching this because all three are immune to Roar. This is why you go for Makuhita in Granite Cave because only Cradily is immune to Whirlwind Hariyama in Victory Road and it dies to Hariyama's Belly Drum + SmellingSalt. Hariyama is also so much more useful during the story than Aron/Lairon will ever be. Alternatively, you can roll for Mawile which is miles worse.
Victory Road trainers are tough. Make sure you battle the last two trainers one at a time because their strategies are top tier (Skill Swap on Slakings + Coverage). No Wobbuffets fortunately but plenty of other stuff to mess you up. Look at docs before battling each and every trainer. Having a Dig mon (Flygon/Sandslash) is nice to escape easily. Take Linoone to HM blast your way through the maze. Unlike what other sources say, you do NOT need Waterfall to get through Victory Road.
E4 Fight: I finished the E4 deathless with a mono water team consisting of Gyarados, Milotic, Starmie, Swampert, Ludicolo, and VA Lanturn. In my run, Starmie was almost never used, despite having some impressive coverage options and Recover. Milotic saved my run against Wallace. Gyarados can pivot into anything. Lanturn was the electric type for my team, though Gyarados also possessed T-bolt for Wallace.
Some other notable options include:

• Hariyama for Sidney (Bring another Persim Berry) and Glacia's Glalies.
• Manectric/Electrode for Glacia and Wallace if you miss out on Lanturn. Magneton is nice but gets shredded due to its poor Speed and Special Defense.
• Other bulky water types for Wallace. Make sure they have Aspear Berries in the last fight, as Wallace loves to freeze your team.
• Ice Beam mon for Drake. Doesn't matter, just make sure it is tanky.
• Something that doesn't die to Phoebe's coverage options. The Banettes are easy to handle but have coverage options like Thunderbolt. The Dusclops will quickly rid you of your PP. The Ace Dusclops has coverage beyond belief (Ice Beam, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Shadow Ball). Sableye is just there to cause trouble and frustration with Double Team.
• Wallace is the real threat that you need to set your team around. Everything else in the E4 can be covered with the tools that you bring. I opt for a mono water team often because it is so good at countering Wallace. You need OHKO answers for Wailord and Gyarados. You need to PP Stall his Milotic if you are not blasting it to the moon (Meaning you need either a Poison/Steel type or Rest to counter Toxic). You need an answer for Hyper Beams that Wallace will be launching at you. Use the Sludge Bomb or Aerial Ace TMs for the Ludicolo or stall it with a grass type. Nonetheless, this is the one battle you are truly prepping for. Everything else comes second.

I recently wrote a really stupid post about how strikers are always getting angry with me, and surprisingly the responses were really supportive and informative.
I have since played two games. One league match and one pickup game. I found a balance where I would very lightly put my hand on the striker just to keep them in my sphere of influence. Surprisingly this ended up working out extremely well.
I basically kept their forwards in my pocket the entire game, despite them being the far better side. And their striker was even very nice as I tried the kill them with kindness approach that was suggested here. The line between being physical and too rough was a little difficult to judge as someone with autism, but I felt I managed it well this time around.
As for the pickup game I was even happier. You get to know everyone in your area after a while as there's many regulars. So one thing I had trouble with was being physical against friends and acquaintances in the league. In pickup matches this is even more difficult. But alot of those I thought were my friends ended up joining other teams without me. So I developed a no fucks given attitude.
I was gentle but physical for the first time ever in a pickup game. And the results were also surprisingly too good to be true. I kept three forwards who are light-years ahead of me in skill to a clean sheet.
One of them didn't mind the physicality at all as they're way rougher. Another one did kind of look annoyed after one play that I slightly misjudged. But bear in mind that I don't slide tackle or anything when everyone else does. But he seemed nice about it, didn't complain or anything. The last guy was always a bit of a moaner and complained once. But this is the same person who would always tell me I wasn't physical enough and left our team. So I'm not too concerned about that.
Everyone on my team was happy for both matches, and I even got man of the match in the league match from the ref. So overall I'm pretty happy. I got invited to join another team and another pickup group. I'm finally a player that others actually want on their team. And all it took was a little contact in a contact sport. So thank you everyone for the constructive feedback and encouragement.

I've been lurking for days, but can't quite find what I'm looking for.
It might be time to say good bye to our 2004 R-Vision Trail Cruiser 21RBH in favor of something without the wet canvas (not ideal here in the PNW). My kids (and I) like the single over double bunk situation that we have now as it gives them space for playing, sitting up in bed, and generally moving about. It’s hard to search for these specific campers though. Especially older models. We don’t need anything brand new, but maybe 2010 or newer?
Looking for a TT that meet the following specs:
-towable by a Toyota Highlander (5,000 lb capacity. We get by right now with a HTT with a dry weight around 3,000. Less than that would be even better.)
-separate sink for teeth brushing (ie not just the sink in the kitchen)
-no couch
-dinette that comfortably fits 4 (u-shaped would be lovely)
-twin over full/single over double bunk beds
-no preference to slides (the lighter the better, though)
-indoor kitchen
-sleeps 4-5 without the using the dinette as a bed.
don’t care about:
-size of the grownup bed—we’re short
-fancy gadgets
-outdoor kitchens
The main goal is room for my kids to play in their bunk--together. Most of the twin over twins are just too narrow, with little head room, and are really walled in on all sides. Typically I'm drawn to non-traditional setups (that's how we ended up with our Trail Cruiser in the first place), and here are some that I've come across:

I’ve been wanting to get a van that can take me, my wife and kid on trips to visit family and on vacation. I’m new to working on cars but I’ve been around cars a lot and a while back I got a jeep XJ as a second car, which I’ve been learning a lot from. I enjoy it but I don’t really have anywhere else to work on it than my driveway which sometimes makes it challenging but not impossible.
I really like the T3s and have been obsessing over them for a while now! My uncle had a beautiful T3 pickup and I very much like the idea of a T3 camper. I know that it would probably make more sense from a practical view point to get something like a ford transit, but I’m also interested in being able to fix as much as possible myself.
The main things that I want to know more about are:

• From what I understand the T3s were not really considered reliable, even when they were newish and even less so now. I wouldn’t call my Jeep reliable either, it’s old and anything could break at any time but I feel confident that I could have a chance of fixing a lot of issues on my own when they do occur. And the engine is rumored to be indestructible pretty much. Am I naive to think that a T3 could be more reliable than a modern transit in the same way? • How cold do these campers get a night? Modern camper vans seem a lot more insulated and usually have some system for heating. We mostly plan to camp during the summer. If it were just me I could get by with a sleeping bag but it would be important not to freeze when bringing the wife and kid!
  

I don’t know which community to post this in but I’m working on a Jazzmaster and Im going for a Kill switch with a 3 way slider switch as a pickup selector replacing upper control panel and adding a bass cut knob.
Problem: I created this diagram and implemented it, but l'm experiencing what seems to be a grounding issue. There's a noticeable buzz or hum, and I can hear both pickups even when the pickup selector is not in the correct position. I suspect this might also be related to grounding.
Im fairly new to wiring/mods, only done it a few times, if you see a bunch of mistakes that's most likely why LOL.
Any insights or suggestions on how to resolve these issues would be greatly appreciated.
The components are 1 meg volume, tone, bass cut, ON-ON slide switch, ON-ON-ON 3 way slider switch, capacitors.047 for tone & .001 for bass cut.

I don’t know if i watch too many crime shows or if I’m just paranoid so I’ve come here to ask. Last week I made chicken gnocchi soup. When it was almost done I started helping my daughter with a school project. She got us both a bowl and a few seconds later my bf runs into the room with a bowl and tells me to eat the bowl he has. I told him it was all the same and he insisted that he wanted mine because it had more chicken. Thinking back now I don’t know how he would know that considering my daughter dished it out. My daughter took the bowl he gave me and said she would eat it. He yanked it out of hand and said “no it’s for mom”.
I took the bowl and he went to the living room. I continued doing my daughter's project and told her not to eat the soup. 20ish minutes later I walked into the kitchen to pour the soups out and he was still eating his. He asked why we didn’t eat any and I said the cat got into it while we were waiting for it to cool down. He screamed “WHAT!? Was it your bowl !?! Cats can’t eat that!?”. I told him it was only a lick but he has been stressed out watching the cat like a hawk, obsessive even. His reaction was very weird.
These "accidents" all happened before the soup incident over the span of 6 months. It wasn't one after another in a short period of time. Since then my emergency money has gone missing. I keep money hidden just in case. I lost my older sister because she wasn’t able to escape a dangerous situation and I literally swore on her grave I would never be in that position. After the soup incident I went to get my money and it was gone. It was hidden and I changed the location every few months. I asked my daughter if maybe she found it and that if she took it I wouldn’t be mad because I knew she couldn’t have spent it. She said no. A few hours later she tells me she forgot but the other day her and my bf got pulled over and she saw my pink wallet in his glove box. I did not tell her which wallet it was in or that it was in a wallet.
I decided to ask him if he found it by accident. He asked me why I was hiding a large amount of money, “you know you could never leave me” and laughed. (He has never said anything like that before). I told him it was for my daughters Christmas. He said no he didn’t find the money but could use his credit card for gifts. I didn’t tell him about my daughter seeing my wallet in his car. Now here are a few other things that have happened in the past few months that seemed random at the time but now they don’t.
I have a severe allergy to latex. One day we were about to have sex and I glanced at the mirror we have by our bed and saw the condom wrapper was a different color. I stopped him because it wasn’t latex free and he said it was a mistake and just an older one he had. We have been dating for over 2 years and he knows how serious my allergy is. My epipen that I keep in my room is missing and I didn’t realize it. I didn't realize it was missing until I was searching for my money.
Another odd thing is one day he was following me down the stairs while I was carrying laundry and he kicked the back of my leg and I fell. He said he slipped but the stairs are wood and he was wearing his steel toe boots. At the time I thought it was an accident.
Am I overthinking this? My anxiety has been at an all time high. Do I watch too much true crime? Here is why I think I might be the asshole. We have a good relationship. He loves my daughter like she is his. We split all shared bills and we both pull our own weight around the apartment. We don’t fight. He has never so much as raised his voice at me. We are paycheck to paycheck but bills are paid.
I thought about going to my moms house for a few days and asking him when I get there when I’m safe about the money but I don’t have money to do that now. She is on a fixed income and can't help. I feel stupid for being scared. Last night I decided to check his car for my wallet and he caught me. I asked him for my money back and he tried playing dumb. I told him my daughter saw it there. He told me she was lying. I told him I never told her about the money or what wallet. He said he was a grown man and kids lie all the time. I asked him once more for my money and he said “I’m not giving you money to leave me”. I waited until he was in the shower to grab my cat and my daughter and we left.
I can’t take my cat with us to a shelter and the DV shelters are full. I was able to get us a night at a cheap motel. This exact situation is why I had money saved. I did everything right and now I’m screwed. I feel like I just blew up my entire life.

Update Post 1: December 4, 2023 (4 days later)
A TL:DR; I think my boyfriend put something in my soup. After that incident I remembered a few months ago he almost used a latex condom knowing I’m severely allergic and I also remembered when he “accidentally” knocked me down the stairs. I started piecing things together and realized my epi pen was gone as well as a large amount of money I had hidden. My daughter saw my old wallet in his glove box and he denied it.
My post got alot of attention and my account was shadowbanned for a few days. I was able to appeal and get my account back because I’m not a bot or some AI. Now for the update.
The day after we left he sent me a picture of my epi pen and tried telling me it was in my nightstand the whole time. I tore that room apart looking for it so I KNOW for 100% fact it wasn’t there. He took it. He tried getting me to come back telling me I scared myself stupid and watched too many true crime TV. Something didn't feel right so I told him to put my money and epi pen in the mailbox. We went back and forth and he denied having my money. He then said “If we broke up you and Maria (my daughter) are no longer allowed in my apartment and will be treated like trespassers” and sent me a pic of his target practice sheets. I went to the police about the money and was told it was a civil issue. I was upset but wanted the rest of my stuff so I asked for an escort.
Yesterday I finally got an escort into the apartment with a cop and my landlord. He destroyed everything of my daughters and he ruined the laptop charger I use for work. No epi pen. My daughters medication and back up medical supplies were ruined. Our landlord let me off the lease without having to pay an early termination fee which is great considering I have no money. Motels are expensive. I don’t want to get rid of our cat. All shelters are full and this is scary as shit.
I’m sorry this is a shitty update but I know people wanted it.

Update Post 2: December 10, 2023 (6 days later, 10 days from OG post)
My OP got a lot of attention but then my account got shadowbanned and was temporarily removed. I just updated 5 days ago but this will be my final update because there is nothing anyone can do. I was encouraged to go back to the police station after my last update.
On Saturday December 9th I went back AGAIN. This time I printed out the threatening text messages that included the target practice sheets he sent, I explained in detail about the “accidents” proving he was trying to hurt me, and I even had my landlord put in writing that he believed our lives were in danger after seeing everything I was showing the police and let me leave my lease early. I brought in the destroyed medical supplies and medications.
The police said they had already talked to him and said he didn’t do any of it. He told them my daughter probably destroyed her stuff because she is “special ed”. She has very mild Asperger's but doesn’t destroy things! Since it was his word against mine they believed him. I didn’t have proof he stole the money or that it even existed in the first place. I was told the epi pen was my responsibility and they won’t do anything if it’s lost. I was told to “let it go” and acted like I was bothering the police with my “petty civil issues”.
I am so defeated and angry. My daughter isn’t going to have gifts for Christmas because I have to save for a new deposit on an apartment. We have been staying in motels while I was reaching out to DV resources. I can’t get help without a restraining orde police report. Every place is out of funds. He is getting away with everything and I’m so glad we got out because there is no doubt in my mind he would have gotten away with my murder.
I know this sounds like my last update but that is what happened…nothing new. No justice. No repercussions for him. He gets to stay in the apartment. My landlord offered me another unit across town but I can’t afford to move in. This exact situation is why I had money stashed away because no one has ever cared about me/us and I knew that. There is nothing else I can do.

Title: I thought we were safe
Alot of people wanted a update so here it is. On Christmas he slashed my tires knowing I would have to pay out of pocket to replace them which I don’t have. Today he threw a heavy patio chair through the window of the place we were staying at to let me know he knew where we were and I was asked to leave for everyone's safety.
Except my daughter and I aren’t safe. I walked in the sleet/snow with my daughter and our cat and I felt vulnerable and like open prey so we came back to the police station to sit in the lobby until morning. Shelters are still full and I now have to disclose that he is dangerous anywhere we go. Police couldn’t find him but I know he has to be close.
I don’t know what his end game is.

Title: I found the air tag in the cat carrier
Please read my other posts for more context but a tl:dr; I’m pretty sure my ex was/is trying to kill me. There were a few instances that I wrote off as “accidents'' until I think he poisoned my soup that was specifically for me. On Christmas he found where we were staying and slashed my tires and threw a heavy patio chair and planter through a window. He still hasn’t been caught.
I checked everywhere I could think of and still couldn't figure out how he was tracking us. I blocked him on everything including email after he sent me pics of his target practice sheets among other things. I got a cheap burner phone. My daughter was out of school for winter break so he didn’t follow her or anything. I checked my car for a tracker. Still nothing.
I do not have an iphone so I couldn’t check whatever app a air tag is attached to. My cat is harness trained and wears a collar but there was no tracker. Until today I decided to “feel up” (sorry only way I can describe it) the carrier. I ran my fingers over every inch of it and felt a bump on the bottom soft side. There was no new stitching or obvious cut. He had to use a seam ripper along the stitching. It was undetectable and I almost missed it. He had to have had help because I’ve never seen him sew anything. Probably the same person who is letting him hide now.
If his excuse for the air tag was to track my cat he would have put it on his collar or harness because that is what he would wear when we go on walks/car rides. My cat would never go in his carrier unless I was planning on leaving for more than a few days. I have no idea how long it has been there nor do I know how far the tracker works but now we aren’t safe where we are, AGAIN. I feel disgusting and I feel like hunted prey. This is so unnerving and I’m so uncomfortable. Who the f*ck was I living with?

Title: I finally got the restraining order!
I’m hoping this update will make everyone as happy as it makes me! I was finally granted the restraining order. And we get the keys to our new apartment on the 11th. A place I can afford monthly and comes partially furnished. It’s in a super safe area right by my daughter's school. There is security!! We will spend our time living in our car until then and of course it has to be snowing but we are together and we have our kitty. This nightmare is almost over.

This morning he found me.
I've been sick as hell so after I dropped my daughter off at school I went straight home.
I didn't drive around to make sure no one was following me. I messed up.

Title: Not being able to move even if my life depends on it
I know the importance of having money saved and I live within my means. How many of us is one disaster away from losing everything? A fire, job loss, a bank screw up, a late paycheck, illness, or someone stealing from you. I had money saved because I knew that any one of those things could happen and I wouldn't have anyone who could help me. And it did. Two months ago my ex tried poisoning me and stole the money I had saved. It’s been hell since. I was able to break my lease and leave. I went to my moms over Christmas break but I came back because I didn’t want to disrupt my daughters schooling and I underestimated my ex.
I was able to get an apartment through DV services very quickly which was a miracle. I know how hard it is to find housing and then try to come up with all the deposits a new place needs. I did it, the cards fell in my favor. But then I fucked up. On Friday I took my daughter to school and wasn’t diligent. I will usually drive around to make sure I’m not being followed. To be honest I started feeling crazy, paranoid, and angry I was wasting gas. Plus I have pneumonia and strep that I haven’t been able to pay for the antibiotics so I just went home to my bed.
He found me and broke my nose, shattered my orbital bone, and I have a concussion. I had a restraining order and he was arrested. I shared this on another sub and everyone telling me to move, leave, RUN. Except I can’t do that. It’s hard trying to explain that to people for them to understand because it sounds like excuses, like I like living in fear or something. I can’t pull money out of thin air. My credit card is maxed. I contacted DV services at the hospital and because I just got help, I can’t get it again.
The thing I didn’t know about abusive men is that they don’t just move on or stop. There are DV shelters but they are full. I wish people would understand that I know how serious this is but money doesn’t grow on trees. Even if a life depends on it.

Title: He was with me to get to my daughter
It all makes sense now. If you need more context please read my past posts. In my first post I said how we had a normal relationship and he was never abusive, controlling, never raised his voice. The money that he ended up stealing was money I had hidden since before he even moved in. I was not hiding money to get away from him. I was not afraid of him. I lost my sister to DV and swore I’d never have that happen to me only to end up in that exact situation. We didn’t have this spectacular love that was filled with insane chemistry, nowhere near a “love of my life” situation which is why I was so confused by how desperate he got.
After he got arrested his mom went on a social media rant because I “got her baby locked up” and knew we were sleeping in my car so was telling her followers that if they find me to call her. Very bold and insane. One of my exes friends saw this and commented “Idk if you should be sticking up for him, he needs serious help”. I don’t know how I caught it before it was deleted but I reached out to him on my fake facebook.
Every time they were drinking he would talk about her and then laugh it off. It made his friends uncomfortable but they chalked it up to the booze. Two weeks ago when my daughter came to see me in the hospital she was distraught. It made sense because I looked like hell but she kept repeating over and over asking me why he did this to me. I think there was more to this and I’m frightened to my core. Remember he stole my epi pen and money but he destroyed almost everything of hers and I didn't understand it because she had nothing to do with the breakup.
Why did he destroy her medicine? Why did he destroy her clothes? Fucking why? Dont abusers threaten their victim into not saying anything or something is going to happen to someone/something they love? I’m sick to my stomach even writing that out. I don’t know where to go from here, how do I even begin a conversation about this with her? We are safe. I’m not worried about him finding us because he is still in jail which is great because I’m out of money. He wasn’t desperate and crazy because he was losing me, I think it was because of her.

Title: How can I feel safer at home?
I know a lot of people are following my posts and will be disappointed in hearing that my ex was bailed out. I’m still healing from when he broke my nose and shattered my orbital bone. I know a restraining order is just a piece of paper because he ignored it when I was attacked and the police aren’t going to save me. For security I only have a door bar that slides under the knob. I don’t have a ring camera and I can’t buy a pew pew until I have extra funds. He made me sell it a year ago because he was “uncomfortable” with it being in the house. Another red flag I missed.
My question is what can I do to feel safer that doesn’t require money? Every night my daughter and I push the couch in front of the door but I’m worried that if there is a fire we can’t get out. I have myself worried sick to the point of painful stomach ulcers. I tried talking to my nearest neighbor but when I started explaining my situation and how it would be great if she could let me know if she sees anyone around my apartment she got weirded out. Which I get.
Just looking for some peace of mind, will that ever exist in my life again?

I know this is all I post about and if you want more context you can read my past posts. I feel like I need to tell someone what is happening so that it makes it feel real and that I’m not just upset and crazy for nothing. My ex got out on bail last week. My daughter and I already left the new apartment we had moved into after he attacked me.
My daughter's school knows about my situation and knows I have a restraining order. Today my daughter got a call from the front office at school. The secretary told her that the pickup car had changed from mine to a new car. She was being told this so that when school let out she wouldn’t get upset when she didn’t see my car. The “new car” is the same one as my exes. It is a rare cacolor and she told me she knew it was his car. She didn’t say anything to the secretary or her teacher because she was instantly scared. It breaks my heart that she was in fear because she thought he had got me and was going to get her.
She was given the message hours before school let out so she spent all that time worrying. The last ten minutes of the day is when the kids can use the bathroom and clean up. She started crying infront of her whole class and when the bell rang she refused to leave her classroom. I was in the carpool line when I got the call from her teacher.
I have never seen her so upset and that is saying a lot because she was so upset when she visited me in the hospital. Face beet red, hyperventilating, snot everywhere, she had cried so hard she got a nosebleed. After they told me what happened I was livid. It all sounded like bullshit because the secretary never should have relayed the message without talking to me first since she said it was a male on the phone. As soon as the secretary looked my daughter up to find out which room to call she should have seen the message I thought I had saying no one should ever pick her up but me. No information should ever be released.
“He was never in contact with her so it’s not that big of a deal, it was a mistake” is what they told me. All he had to give was her full name and what grade she was in to get a message to her. They said that to me with a straight face while the bruises he gave me were very visible proving he is a violent man. I’m so f*cking angry. She told me she knew I didn’t get a new car because as much as I try to hide it from her she knows I’m broke. She thought she was going to have to go with him. She has been so traumatized and I don't know what to do. She wants to switch to e learning but since it’s not a medical reason and not a school wide restriction I would have to pay to rent the laptop. Which I obviously can’t.
The school is calling it an innocent mistake and didn't even apologize. I know I'm the only one responsible for my daughter and I’s safety but damn if people could stop jeopardizing it like it’s nothing and then acting like I’m the asshole for being upset because it was a “mistake”. He wasn’t there after school but he could have.

I've had a few people asking so I wanted to update. I can now confidently say that my daughter, cat, and I are safe and will continue to be from here on out. I can start rebuilding without fear. I'm not okay but we are safe.
Update Post 13: April 23, 2024 (3 weeks later, almost 5 months from OG post)
Title: I’ve spent the last 4 months running for my life
I just want to say that if anyone is going through something similar to me, you can vent to me. This is something you have to experience to understand how hard it is. I know there are DV resources but they are extremely limited. I had someone on here “checking in” with me and when I explained what was going on I was asked “why aren’t you stable yet” and it kinda took me off guard. Only a few people knew I was pregnant through this.
I left my home with basically nothing and went to a hotel and he found me, I went to another hotel and he found me, I went to a safe house for two nights where I was asked to leave because my ex was dangerous, slept in my car with my daughter, went to my moms out of state, came back to my home state because that is where DV resources helped with a apartment, he followed me back to my apartment from my daughters school, I was hospitalized when he broke my nose, shattered my orbital bone, and gave me a concussion. I had to leave that apt, back to hotels and sleeping in my car, and finally back to my moms. So much money feels wasted. I have the opportunity to be added onto her new lease but it’s a bigger unit and requires a first/last deposit (impossible unless I rob a bank). The pet deposit is already paid.
But I only have until the 1st or we are back to living in the car because we have exceeded our “visitation” days. A year lease where my rent would only be $500 a month, utilities maybe $150? I’d be saving so much money and be able to rebuild my life. We would all have our own rooms which means privacy! Even though we are all female, privacy is precious. I haven’t slept in a bed since the hotel beds but even then it wasn’t “my” bed. It’s been my car, hotel bed, or the couch. Even when we were briefly in our new place I still slept on the couch with it pushed against the front door.
I know all my posts are about the same thing, one thing after another, and yes it IS exhausting and repetitive but think about how I feel. I’m desperate for stability and I can’t get it because he took so much from me. It wasn’t until I was out of “our” house and away from him for me to see how much power he had over my life. It’s embarrassing. Even if I have to go back to living in my car I’ll still be around to talk and I’ll still be optimistic because I deserve good things to happen to me that aren't only in my dreams.

There was! Someone helped him put one in my cat's carrier because he knew if I was going to leave, I'd never leave my cat behind.

Title: The vet gave my abuser my location
I want to say this was a genuine mistake and not done with malicious intent but I still need to vent about it. Just like my daughter's school letting my abuser give her a message, this was an accident but accidents put my life in danger and I’m exhausted. I post about my situation alot and despite a few users thinking my ex would find my reddit, I’m not worried about that. However, I am terrified of him knowing where I am. He has gone through a restraining order, police don’t scare him, and when he got/gets arrested he will just get bailed out. I knew the only way I could live a normal life was getting as far away from him as possible.
So I took my daughter and cat and moved in with my mom a few states away. I was 100% confident that he didn’t know where I was because they never met, we were actually estranged for a few years before my ex and I even got together. I started feeling safe. I stopped jumping when I heard loud trucks. I was starting to get comfortable even though not alot of time had passed.
A few days ago my cat's back legs stopped working and he lost control of his bodily fluids.I was working but my mom rushed him to the ER vet. There were questions she couldn’t answer so they asked if he was chipped. He is but I changed my number a few times lately so one of the two numbers was out of service so they called the second one. I forgot to remove his number, I know this is my fault. The vet called him to get information and he didn’t give any information and hung up on them. The receptionist said he called back about 5 minutes later and said “I know she doesn’t have money. Tell her I’ll save her cat if she comes home”.
He knows how much my cat means to me. He found me the first time I left because his mom helped him sew an air tag into the lining of the cat carrier. He knew if I was to ever leave him I wouldn’t leave my cat. One time my ex threw him out of the house to hurt me while I was at work he refused to leave the porch. My ex then tried squirting him with a water bottle and when that didn’t work, he sprayed him with the hose. He basically got waterboarded and still would not leave.
He is my soul cat. When I got to the vet and they told me what happened I had one of the worst panic attacks I’ve had in awhile. I’ve had my cat for ten years and he has never gotten sick or injured. He has a UTI and a fractured foot from falling. The vet thinks he probably got his foot hurt first and that led to the UTI since he wasn’t using the litter box. I noticed he was slightly limping a few days ago but I couldn’t get him into the vet yet. The UTI developed quickly. I was naive in thinking the vet would save a pet's life even if the owner can’t pay upfront but it isn’t like a human going into the ER.
I’ve spent so much money and time trying to get away from my ex while also trying to live a normal safe life for my daughter. Once again something happens and he now knows the city we are in. I’m not running again because I can’t. I don’t think he will drive up here because like I said I’m a few states away but man did this bring back my paranoia and irrational fear.
I changed the chip information but the damage is done, I was a fucking idiot for not doing it sooner. This is my fault, I'm so damn tired.

OOP: My mom was flustered because she knew the ER vet was going to be expensive and knew I couldn't pay but she couldn't answer any questions because she didn't know. Didn't know how old he was or if he had his shots. I can't take my phone into my work building and she didn't know the manager's phone number.
I was able to pay partial with scratchpay but not all which is heartbreaking. A broken heart and frustrating anger is what I feel too.

Commenter: I just don’t understand why the vet would go through the trouble of scanning the chip and calling the numbers on there instead of just asking your mom for your number?? Seems like a lot of grief could have been avoided and the clinic had to do more work to call a company and get the phone numbers.

OOP: I've had to change my number over 6 times in a three month time span, my mom didn't know it off the top of her head.

Commenter: If you are communicating with your mom it would be in her phone. If it changes so often, the last number in her phone would be more accurate than a microchip which is less likely to be updated. This is very strange.

OOP: I was at work, I can not have my personal phone on me and my cat was having a medical emergency. My mom didn't know how old my cat is or if he had his shots. They had alot of questions she had no answer to so they scanned the chip to get information.

Editor's note: Some people commented on the first BORU that OOP's ex was a police officer. However, I can't find anything in OOP's posts or comments that confirms this, nor has she said anything about it. (Nothing shows up when checking deleted comments either.) It's definitely possible, but I just wanted to address it here since it was brought up so often.

Update (5/27): Solved! I was able to get a box of Kroger brand 50 testing strips ($8.99) and even a HealthPro reader ($10.99) at the Fred Meyer on Weidler after pharmacy hours. At that location, there are several POS displays with items like COVID rapid tests and these much needed glucose level kits (note: they are NOT in the “Diabetic needs” section over in general toiletries). It’s a manual finger prick test, but suitable for emergency situations when the fancy auto reader gets wrecked at 4pm on a national holiday.
Edit 2: As multiple commenters mentioned, the Beaverton Walgreens is the only 24hr pharmacy in the area (as of May 2024).
Life pro tip: if you can, have any time-sensitive prescriptions sent over to this pharmacy to be kept on file in case of a future emergency. You may need your doctor to approve this and write a separate prescription if there’s a limit on qty or refills. No guarantee they will have it in stock (like the specific reader we needed), but we would have had to wait for business hours anyways to transfeverify his prescription for the medical device. All-night pharmacies are great for regular customers with odd work hours, but not much help for emergencies unless you’ve planned ahead.

I have a senior neighbor that just called me (6:50pm) for help. He accidentally washed his Libra Freestyle #3 Reader that he uses to check his blood sugar. He has a device to process test strips, but no strips. Care Oregon insurance. No car, but I already promised to take care of pickup.
I know nothing of what is needed or if I can—as a non patient—get diabetic test strips OTC for him. My goal is to find a solution for him to test his blood sugar at home tonight and possibly for the next few days until he can get a replacement device as quick as possible. Crowdsourcing to Reddit before I start calling pharmacies.

Improvements

1. Player Energy: Player's default starting energy has been increased. This increase works in addition to any Life Spark energy upgrades you already have acquired.
   
2. Quest Tuning: Reduced number of vitamins requested on the Blue Reef primary quest.
   
3. Quest Tuning: Added seaweed to Kaida's 2nd mission to help guide people to pick it up and eat it.
   
4. Quest Tuning: Changed Kaida's 5th mission from 1 Diamond to alternate items that are less rare to make easier.
   
5. Mineral Drop Rate: Increased minerals drop rate from digging.
   
6. Soil Sample Drop Rate: Increased soil sample drop rate from digging.
   
7. Machine Timers: Clicking on active machines and planters will now show the estimated time remaining for whatever they are processing or growing. (Assuming they remain watered and/or powered.)
   
8. Text Scroll Speed Option: You can now adjust the text scrolling speed with a slider in the Settings menu. The fastest setting is instantaneous text.
   
9. Machine Crafts: Made some workbench machines require less items needed to craft.
   
10. Library Book: Updated furnace book to mention that stone can be refined.
    

Bug Fixes

1. Equip Slot Wrong: Fixed issue when dismounting the spaceboard, sometimes the equipped item was incorrect.
2. Missing Crop when Picked: Fixed issue when a loose item was being sucked up to the player at the same time a crop was picked, it would prevent the crop from being added to the inventory.
3. Overflow Pickups: If an item is getting picked up at the same time as items getting sucked up and the sucked up items take the last inventory slot, the picked-up item will go into the overflow sequence for resolution instead of getting lost.
4. Sliding Door Hidden: The automatic sliding door on the Captain's Deck could be seen through the wall if a window was placed below it. Fixed and hidden now.
5. Microbe Detection: Fixed a few spots where microbes were located out of reach from player. Science Lab water tubes, doorway of Classroom, Engine Room by Stewart's station, garden bench on Crew Quarters, uniform rack in Engine Room.
6. Gamepad Icon: Treasure chests were missing their gamepad button press icons.
7. Fertilizer Gifting: Low-Grade Fertilizer, Mixed Fertilizer, and Premium Fertilizer have had their gifting values corrected for NPCs that don't hate them.
8. 1900 Gift: Adding a new liked item for I1900
9. Cosmo Creep Spawn Anim: Adjusted the scale values on these animations to not be so extreme and flash.
10. Increase/Decrease Buttons: Fixed issue when holding the hot bar inventory increase/decrease buttons. Btns were spamming the bar when a menu was open, causing chaos.
11. Item Sprite: Fixed Copper Block to correctly say Cu.
12. H20 Station: H20 Stations can now be gifted to NPCs like other machines.
13. Grammar: Fixing many missing commas, typos, and dialogue preferences as we played through and from you all. Also, thanks to all our beta crew, new players, and a giant help from Sheep on quests!

I bought a used Breedlove Oregon series guitar and I love it. My one gripe is the pickup, an LR Baggs under saddle. The low E string booms compared to the others making it useless for anything but strumming.
Has anyone else dealt with this? I’m wondering what my options are, I.e. fix it, replace it with a better pickup, or just remove it entirely since I rarely plug in.

Hi I have two cats and am living in a decently sized 5th wheel camper. We have two breeze pellet litter boxes and scoop them both daily and swap the pads weekly like it says. We have tried everything under the sun to help with the smell but somehow it always lingers. We have two period air fresheners that spray every 30 minutes and keep our camper spotless but the smell remains even if we don’t always smell it our visitors do and I want to try and minimize it as much as possible any tips would be wonderful it feels like we’ve tried everything we used to use arm and hammer clump and slide multicat and that didn’t work so that’s why we made the switch to these because friends of our recommended it.

I have a midsize pickup truck and recently purchased a secondhand pull out tray that sits on the bottom of the bed. The steel sliding frame underneath and the 6'x4'x 3/4" marine grade plywood tray is HEAVY for my little truck-l'm gonna be at my payload limit with nothing in it if I'm not careful! Jk... but srsly.
Can anyone think of a material I could use instead of the plywood that would be lighter and rigid enough for careful contractor use: carrying toolboxes, occasional dump debris, building materials? I know it's a matter of how careless or not I am tossing stuff onto any surface, and that plywood likely is the best option but there's gotta be something lighter I could use instead that might be slightly outside of the box? Honeycomb composite, aluminum sheet, etc. I'm handy and love challenges and designing solutions, however...
Am I asking for too much for too little weight reduction for it to pencil out? Talk some sense into me, please!

I’m a big case guy. I buy multiple cases for all of my devices to swap out. I recently got the iPad Pro M4 13”. I got it for same day pickup but the case selection was nonexistent. I checked Amazon and again the selection was crap if I didn’t want to wait a week plus for a decent case. I begrudgingly bought the OtterBox Statement Series Studio Case from the Apple Store for $100. That’s way more than I usually spend on a case. Well I think it’s my new favorite! It’s a great folio, the front folio cover is removable, it has a built in adjustable stand that lays flat, and it has a slide out Apple Pencil holder that stays flush to the side when not in use! It really meets just about all of my needs. I might not be buying another case for a while (except for maybe the MKB). Just thought I’d share in case anyone was trying to choose a case. Also as a side note, OtterBox has a great warranty!

So my husband, myself, and our dog have tent camped at least four times at coastal Oregon public campgrounds, including one ill-advised time at Ft Stevens. It was October, and we were just silly Californians back then (now OR residents, don't hate me) and didn't understand how rainy it would be. Whatever, we had a fun adventure, but would not seek that out again..
SO my current issue is that there is a decent amount of rain in the forecast for this coming June 2-June 5 when we are supposed to be camping at Cape Lookout. We have basic stuff to keep our tent dry and more or less our cooking area as well. Temps will be in a comfortable mid-high 60's but there is also a lot of wind and possibly even thunder one night on the forecast. It's a birthday camping trip and truthfully I'm a bit disappointed to see what we might be facing. sad face.
Would you still go? Cancel this reservation and seek whatever is open through ReserveOR (with basic amenities as we aren't set up for pack in/pack out) somewhere further East from the coastal weather? Tell me to STFU and just enjoy the humbling beauty of the PNW while mildly damp?
Honestly just curious, appreciate any advice!
Edit: We are definitely still going, thank you for the replies that essentially just said to suck it up and enjoy what you get, weather will shift, etc etc (and I did reserve a mostly tree-covered campsite on one of the loops on the other side of the beach)

Hey everyone! Been lurking in this sub for awhile, I recently (Feb 2024) bought a 2008 Nissan Titan LE. I don't know if the specs matter in diagnosing this, but it has every bell and whistle that year offered. I work from home so it is not a daily driver, so I don't have the timing for it yet but every time I drive the vehicle I would say 10-15 minutes down the road the vehicle will shudder and then my SLIP light comes on. When I bought it, one of the ABS sensors battery has died and I haven't replaced it yet (has stock rims its dead not unplugged) so I chalked it up to the dead battery sensor is causing the truck to think I am hydroplaning or sliding on ice. Well yesterday I was sitting in curbside pickup for some food and while in park the truck shuddered and the slip light came on so now I'm curious if it is something more? Next time I get paid I'm going to get the ABS sensor fixed but I wanted to see if anyone has experienced this before and what it could be!
