The Guards haven't had the offense or starting pitching of a 1st place team but they're being carried by an incredible bullpen. Hi all, I privately sold a 2016 2.2 auto Ford Ranger - serviced, MOT’d, etc and within 30 days the new owner has said the head gasket randomly went whilst towing horses down the motorway and the full engine needs replacing.
1) Could there have been any indication of the issue whilst I had the car? I never noticed anything and it was serviced and MOT’d one week before sale
2) Would there not have been warning lights / indicators that something was wrong before it fully blew?
3) Would this kind of thing really require a full new engine?
4) What kind of cost for repairing are they looking at?
I feel terrible this has happened to them, but am in no financial position to foot the bill and have never encountered any issues and have maintained the car well whilst I owned it!

I currently have a VPN between 2 sites. both have a Fortigate 60c. I was wondering if it is possible to make a VPN from a 3rd site with a DreammachinePRO to 1 of the 2 sites in order to reach the 3rd site.

So here we are, on the last page. Indulge my ramblings.
It's been one hell of a ride, managing to devour the ten big books in what is a little over a year I think at this point. To say it took me for a ride is an understatement. I haven't been invested in an actual book series for a while now, few standalone novels here and there, but nothing like this.
I don't think I posted my detailed thought on DoD, perhaps it was for the best. Because I truly see it as but a half of a book. While in the past some malazan books picked up right after others, DG and MOI continue directly after GoTM, HOC continues on to DG. It was never with such immediacy. TCG starting second after DoD, heck starting before its end, because we see Cotillion take hold of Lostara.
I had gotten used to a certain pace within these books. Book 1 would be a sort of overture, we see new characters, we see old characters, a cast is assembled. Book 2 expands on the main plot of the book, what will this all be about, plans are set in motion. Book 3, the plans mature, we see a convergance on the horizon. Book 4, we get a convergance. The roller coaster has reached the highest point and goes into free fall.
DoD essentially gets us to the end of Book 2, a midway finale, we have met all the players, we know what the plan is. We are moving towards it.
It was a hard read, because the cast was just overflowing. Usually I praise SE for those small scenes, of the soldiers shooting the shit as they march, between fights and all that. I still like them, but was getting overwhelmed with just how many we were getting. I had to take out my notebook again to keep track of the squads and command structure.
It is a bit of a blur compared to TCG, kalyth, the snake, the shake, the ghosts, tool, toc, torrent, trade guild, grey helms, queen abastral, her daughter, tavore, ublala etc.
The snake being the most jarring and confusing element, it took by far the longest to get used to it and wrap my brain around it properly. Similar to the ghosts.
What left me the most angry and annoyed was olar ethils meddling between Toc and Tool. There are plenty of hateable and evil bastards in the series, individuals it is fun to hate. Olar was not one, she felt like a nuissance. Toc and Tool not getting an ounce of bloody mercy left me very jaded. But I will get into more on that later.
I think I will just jump to TCG.
I did not know what to expect as an ending. I have been disappointed plenty of times. It is no small feat to cap off 14 000 pages of such a rich, complicated and elaborate world. I had no illusion that everything will be neat and tidy, a happily ever after. This not that kind of story.
Steven Erickson did do the series justice. That is the best way I think I can phrase it. It was not what I expected, it was not what I wanted for some characters. But I cannot disagree or see it ending other way.
Those who have followed my rantings while reading will know of my disagreement witht the idea "THE STORY IS ABOUT HOPE". Considering the amount of failure, misery, cruelty and a whole lot more the story dumps on to some characters. My opinion has changed, not fully, but it has. It was not due to the final scene with them defending with the crippled god. It was due to Torrent.
I was so invested in him. He felt so human so mortal, yet despite it all. He kept going. That moment when Olar confronts the guild, mappo and the rest, when they all stand uselessly pissing themselves as she demands the kids. Torrent is the only one to stand up, to go with her. I truly lost a lot of respect for Mappo then.
We don't know what happens to Torrent. He gets the killshot on the witch bitch, then falls down a fissure. I read that line, hoping that he survives. Until someone says otherwise I will keep hoping.
Another character is Cotillion, the most human god of all. I can hardly recognise him from the start of GOTM.....
TCG felt to me what "Return of the king" felt to some of my friends. From the andii kneeling to the shake in respect for holding out, to Korlat and WJ. "And wait he will", that had me straight up bawling for several minutes
Regarding our favourite Trell...when he met with Calm, I knew how it would end. From how clumsily he handled himself to the exhaustion, he never stood a chance. Ublala could have never arrived on time, for he was meant to take up that torch, like so many before him. "I remembered something", there is that feeling again. Hope.
Tavore...tavore....how far she has come.
I hated her, I hated her so much. From DG all the way to TBH. All the politics, betrayal and bullshit leaving me expecting she was just like Surly or Rel. Boy was I wrong. "I lost her", of all the things expected, it was not that. It all came crashing down with just those three words when she met Ganoes. All her weight, all she did. It made sense.
Yedan's last stand and death hurt, but in the same way Rake's did. It was not in vain, they both died for the cause they believed in. They won.
Now.....tool, toc and hetan. This is going to be controversial. I was aware of something bad happening in DoD, that much was hinted by several sources. It was horrific, but didn't have the same impact some of past horrors did. I find it hard to explain, but what made it worse was....her coming back like nothing happened.
I might be reading it in the wrong way. Ressurection in any fantasy series is a dangerous can of worms, the moment an author uses it, he has to start making up excuses for why it cannot be done every time. Malazan handled it by showing just how nasty the cost is. Rhulad being driven more insane every time he came back, escapees from Hood's realm looking like zombies etc.. Even Hedge reuniting with Fiddler, it is endlessly fraught and warped their relationship.
I like that Tool got a happy ending, but her just coming back like that. It felt cheap and made me resent we couldn't get other characters back the same way. The whole Tool and Toc thing just got me angry and not in a fun way.
I could go on and on, but I needed to get this lot off my chest first.
This series changed me and the way I appreciate stories/characters. There is not a single person in malazan you can point to who is fully good or evil (except the liosan and assail, fuccccccckkkkkkkk them). Humans are messy, despite the best of intent, the world will not let us be good, nor is it easy to be good. We do stuff that seemingly contradicts what we stand for, what we value, knowing the immediate pain it will cause, but holding out hope it will be worth it in the long run.
I am far from done with Malazan. Novels of the malazan empire are next on my reading list. But I will be taking a bit of a break to reset. There is a real danger of getting fatigued with the series, the worst hitting right during DoD.
So yeah....cool book series...

I'm trying to learn more about the clinical rotations in the third and fourth years of medical school. Specifically, as I understand it which may be wrong, during these years, students experience various medical specialties through rotations, but I'm not entirely clear on the details.
My main question is: What are these rotations actually like? I've come across numerous “stories” and videos online that seem like jokes, but I haven't had the opportunity to hear straightforward descriptions. For instance, is it true that these rotations involve extremely long hours or even days without sleep? How intense and demanding are they, really? Are you being worked to death? Or are those types of shifts probably referring to residency?
I'm particularly concerned because my interests are focused on Neurology and Psychiatry, and I have little to no interest in other areas, especially surgical ones or those involving emergency or trauma care. Knowing more about the duration and daily schedule of each rotation would help me assess whether I can handle them, despite my reservations. I can do anything depending on how long it is. If it’s only 2 weeks per rotation for 8 hours a day then I can survive. I am not passing out at the sight of blood or anything even close to that, I just hate the more trauma side of things. I have 0 interest in seeing someone come into ER missing limbs. The high-stakes fast paced medicine world is not for me is my real concern.
Additionally, I'm wondering about the feasibility of pursuing a medical career given my apprehensions about certain medical situations. As said already, I'm comfortable with blood, but the more graphic emergency scenarios are not for me. Do medical students with such concerns successfully complete their training? Or is a certain level of desensitization a common trait among medical professionals? Or are you all just born without a queasy bone in your body?

So its very much possible that I fail this time too. But I planned I'll clear grp 2 in September by starting to study as soon as 17 is over. I'll take 2 days break then start studying for grp 2.
There's an important family function coming up which would require my presence. My parents are planning this for Aug-Sept, I was okay with August when they said September would be more appropriate. I tried telling them I might have exams that month first two weeks. Also, waiting till Jan for my next attempt is too late. I had planned to study for Sept seriously cause if I pass even one group I'll be motivated. My parents aren't budging and I can't even tell them now itself that I'm gonna fail. I pretty much know what's tomorrow's exams fate gonna be so I was planning to tell them that the exams went bad so they get the idea.
I didn't study. It's my fault and my mistake from the very start. It's my procrastination and there's no guarantee I'm not gonna do it again. But I really hope I would be able to be consistent this time at least. I'm trusting myself for this one last time. Cause I wanna get out of this trap asap.

Hey! Hope you're doing well. It seemed like a good idea posting here and my gut is mostly right!
I'm a 23 y/o guy from Ontario, Canada. Currently, I am working at an office here doing some more basic legal work. On the side, I am trying to start my own practice, as I am licensed to practice law here. So I am very passionate about that and the law in general. Particularly with Human Rights and the many issues that renting tenants deal with here. (In fact, I was actually at a hearing representing a client today!).
For reference, I am 6'0", white, wear glasses, 230lbs, shorter-medium jet-black hair, and have brown eyes. Have photos available as well!
Recently, I've been keeping pretty active. Been losing weight like crazy and I have a simple diet that I stick to. So a decent amount of time is spent being active and working.
Besides that, I love to cook. I cook almost every day and I would like to think that I'm pretty good at it. I just BBQ'd some ribs on the weekend that I would love to show you 😩
I am also really into video games. Mostly whatever I can get into after work. Recently its been a lot of Balatro and WoW. I would also love to try other games with someone else. I love most types of games.
Also completely obsessed with music. I play guitar and have been trying to teach myself piano. Love most types of music and recently I have been listening to a lot of MF DOOM and Madlib beat tapes, along with Kate Bush, Leonard Cohen, and more. Could go on forever about most music haha.
Also enjoy reading pretty often, baking, and currently growing basil and chili peppers. I am also studying/learning Korean if that's at all relevant.
There's a lot more but ideally I am looking for this person: Someone fun and educated, enjoys a longer conversation and just wants to get to know someone. No real physical preferences!

If i install az ubuntu, update it, install pivpn and choose ovpn and set it up (with portforward), when i connect from outside with openvpn, what would be the default behaviour, should i be able to ping/access my internal network like my router,nas,etc or no? You get by default some 10.X.X.X privat ip, lets say my local network is 192.168.1.0/24 (router 192.168.1.1 and nas 192.168.1.2), by default without touching config files, firewall rules, etc should i be able to access them?
Right now i cant and thats why im asking. The vpn succesfully connects but cant reach anything, tried installing ufw and enabling the port i use for the openvpn, vpn connects but no access to my local network. Thanks in davance!

Hello, i hope you guys can help me. And sorry for bad English.
I have been rowing for a few months 30-60min a day. I dont really see much improvement to my condition or weight. So i started jump roping 2 weeks ago. Immediately after 30 seconds i feel exhausted. Also next day my ankle hurt alot. I feel like jump rope helps me reach my goals faster but im afraid of overdoing it. Can you give me some tips? Thanks.

I was planning to take a diploma in IT at OUM with fully online mode and I have some questions about it. So, if any of you guys have ever studied at OUM with fully online mode or know the answer of my questions please let me know🙏🙏

I don't know much about the Beach Boys, and tbf Mike Love seems like a commercialist jerk with some unpleasant beliefs. But it seems like that therapist who locked the Brian guy in an abusive conservatorship is much worse, right? I don't even know if Love and Stamos could have made that trainwreckord if Brian had been getting actual help for his mental illness. (Disclosure: in addition to not knowing much about the Beach Boys, I don't know much about treating mental illness, let alone treating them in the 20th century. So that might be an oversimplification).
Yet not just Todd, but the music internet at large, say he's the worst guy associated with the Beach Boys. I get that the links to Manson are tertiary, and it's unfair to say he's somehow in or a part of the Beach Boys, but is it just because Mike is so outspokenly mean and nasty and gross? Are there things omitted from the TW video? Any context from Beach Boys fans or more learned music historians would be appreciated.

1. Yu, literally toyed with everyone in the survival battle and won it all. Does not get any stronger and somehow loses to massamune who has less wins than he does losses. Then by end of fury is basically completely useless and the weakest protagonist.
   
2. Tsubasa, probably the strongest blader mid s1 aside from Ryuga and phoenix. At very least was at the level of gingka and Kyoya, then by season 2 is getting one shotted by Damian off screen. Definitely could have been a legendary bladder or have at least gotten a 4D evolution but massamune got one instead.
   
3. Julian, super strong and was probably gingkas toughest battle in s2 up until that point. Then somehow him and the two Cetus kids whose names I forgot end up getting their backs blown out by Damian making them look like school children who’ve never had a bet battle in their lives. Then gingka beats Damian even though gingka and Julian had almost the same power a few battles prior.
   
4. Massamune, got the number two spot on gan gan galaxy and had a very competitive battle with gingka, then lost damn near every battle in the actual tournament. He was basically there for the purpose of losing so that the scores could be 1-1 and gingka would be the tie breaker.
   
5. Ryo, probably the third strongest in s1 after gingka and Ryuga (Kyoya arguably stronger too) yet fire blaze never utilized again. Definitely could have been helpful many times in s2 at least
