Zephyrus G16 vs Yoga Pro 9i vs other?

2024.05.16 22:18 kungfuenglish Zephyrus G16 vs Yoga Pro 9i vs other?

Trying to figure a new laptop. I think I have it down to the Yoga Pro 9i vs the G16. Both have nice screens and the core ultra processor for more efficiency. I want something I'm not tethered to the wall when going to work or going to a meeting at another office and I can just pull it out and use it without power for a while. Light weight is key, both seem adequate there. And I do play some games. Whether overnight or on travel. Nothing crazy right now but I want the capability.
The G16 would be fine at 1700 but only 16 gb ram. I could push up to the $2900 model with 32 gb and a 4080 but that's a lot more money. The yoga has a smaller battery though 84 Whr vs 90 Whr but not sure if it'll make a difference. But the G16 seems to run less power draw through the processor maybe. Screen is brighter? But mini-LED is wonky with HDR I hear?
I'm probably missing more too. I have 16 gb RAM on my alienware right now and it's adequate, but not sure how limiting that will be going forward for another 5 ish year use period?

2024.05.16 22:02 ClassicPower25 Should I buy a PS5

Hi, I have been playing exclusively on Xbox for more than 10 years but Xbox hasn't have a good exclusive game since a long time so I'm starting to want to buy a PS5 and right now the slim is on sale for 400 usd (I don't know if that's a lot but in my country they never go on sale like in USA).
So I have some questions
I have never touched a PlayStation so I guess they have a lot of PS4 and PS5 exclusives that are worth playing but I have seen that maybe they release the PS5 pro soon and that will make the PS5 cheaper so should I wait?
Do you think it is a good deal the slim for 400 usd or should I buy the disc one for 510 usd?
Do the PS5 allow gamesharing like on Xbox? If I buy it I need to fill my library from 0 and I know games are a little bit more expensive in the PlayStation Store
How is the controller? If someone of you can compare it with a Series controller I would appreciate it.
Sorry for bad english and thanks in advance.

2024.05.16 21:58 CamelSpecialist8901 HELP! Yoga Pro 9i (2024, 2300e) vs Legion Slim 7i (2023, 1550e)

What do you recommend, a yoga pro 9i with ultra core 9, 32gb ram, mini-led touch, rtx 4060 (2300€) or Legion slim 7i glacier white with 13700h, 32gb ram, rtx 4060, 3200 res screen (1550€). The Yoga is brand new with 3 years premium care warranty, while the Legion only has a one year warranty, and is from ebay, apparently had faulty ram which was repaired (checked repair ticket with lenovo) , the seller mentioned the faulty ram but claims the laptop was unused.
I wanted something that was closest to a Windows Macbook Pro laptop. (good screen, build, speakers, etc) The Legion just popped up and the difference in price is significant (800€) I would love to know what your recommendation would be. Is the Yoga pro 9i worth 800€ more? (I still have a chance to return the Yoga and buy the Legion if its still available)
Thank you!

2024.05.16 21:24 Jurdor Any suggestions for a simple, privacy based smartphone?

I rarely use my smart phone anymore. Honestly, for the last couple of years it is a huge waste of time more then anything else for anyone who owns one. I was thinking about getting a new one when the phone that I have reaches its end. Currently I have my eye on the ''HTC Desire 22 Pro'' since I hear its not a bad phone and it is relatively cheap nowadays. I wanted to hear what you guys think.
P.S. You can suggest the so called ''dumb phones'' for other users who might want one but I personally am looking for a standard smartphone.

2024.05.16 21:18 justhavingfunyea 11" or 13"- I am ALWAYS switching....

I've had two 11" pros with keyboards. Sold them both and now have a 12.9 5th gen pro and a mini.
When I travel, I do like the mini for watching content on planes (I take 3 -6 trips a year). But I DISLIKE the 60hz screen when surfing. I also hate the 64GB size that I have, as I feel I have to manage it more. I also miss having cellular, because if my phone is in a shitty cell area, it's nice having an alternate service. So, yes the mini is ok, but it isn't great.
My 12.9 pretty much stays stationary at my dining table for when I don't want to be in the office. It seems too big to use in the office when I work on music (mainly using the voice recorder to listen to myself), so I use the mini. But Touch ID sucks and it sucks.
So here I am again thinking I just need an 11", but when I am at my dining table, I will wish I had the bigger screen. But the 11 and the keyboard seem it would be better when traveling and when doing music work vs the mini.
I need to keep my 12.9 and get an 11?
Here I got again....sigh!!
Really trying to avoid spending $1500 on a cellular pro and keyboard....(I would get to sell the mini, and I could dump the 13" and just use the 11" at my dining room table)

2024.05.16 20:28 laffytaffyboo Advice iPad m1

Hi y’all, I’m gonna buy the refurbished iPad m1 2021 because it’s price went down after the new release.
Firstly, is it still worth it to get it or should I get the iPad pro m2 2022/air m2 2024?
Additionally, should I wait before I buy the refurbished iPad because are there deals that will happen? I’m not sure if they do deals for refurbished items.

2024.05.16 20:07 Branchdressing Google Problems

So I'm currently experiencing some problems with my pixel devices. First my pixel 6 pro had trouble maintaining a solid network connections making phone calls near impossible if WiFi wasn't variable. I eventually "upgraded" to a pixel 7 and about a year later that one started to not charge via the usb-c. I cleaned the port and tried multiple chargers but to no avail. My wife then got me the pixel stand for Christmas and it would charge consistently! yay! Then about a month later the battery is swelling and pushing the screen out of the phone. So they send a replacement refurbished device. This one out of the box has blue tooth connection issues. This replacement pixel 7 either wont connect, wont find the device, will connect but not transmit, wont disconnect, or will connect to things that aren't there. I have tried to connect to over 5 different devices and all have the same problem. I have restarted my phone countless times. I have reset both wifi and bluetooth settings twice. My phone is up to date as of 2 hours ago. I have contacted support about this 4 times now and it has not gotten fixed. The last support person had me factory reset my device and now when I try to log back in its asking me to use the authenticator on my pixel 7... which is the device im currently on and does not have an authenticator... I am beyond done. I am furious and at this point I don't even want the device fixed to sell it. I don't want to give this monkey paw to the next unsuspecting victim. Don't buy pixel phones. They are trash and should be treated as such.
I tried to post to google support page but the next button is greyed out and reloading, refreshing, and restarting my computer has done nothing so here I am.

2024.05.16 19:52 Pontaju Decided to move on from T300 and didn't do my homework properly. Question from a dafty to the community included below

So today I got swinddled a bit by someone. Basically i decided it's the right time to move on from the Thrustmaster ecosystem and give fanatec dd a go. I mostly play gt7 and am not super dedicated, which made paying full price + uk customs, postage etc a bit over the top. Had a look at how much I can sell my current setup (t300 rs gt, tlcm) for, made a rough budget and started looking for used fanatec stuff online. Most stuff was 650-700 for ps and found an add for a csl dd with rally wheel, pedals, clutch kit for 450, which I found a bit suspicious.
Got in touch with the seller and he told me he used it on both pc and ps and that everything worked fine so i went and picked it up and paid the man his money.
Sure enough, when I got home, i realised i hadn't done my homework and I in fact bought the xbox pc version.
I am now torn between: a) trying to speak to the guy, try to convince him to reverse the exchange, pay for another couple of ubers , and keep looking for a dd pro (yes, i know now...) maybe with lc pedals and selling my whole thrustmaster setup
b) biting the bullet and buying a drivehub, selling the original t300 gt rs, and the fanatec pedals and clutch kit, and using tlcm with the base
What would you do?

2024.05.16 19:42 BlankRadix What do I need to know to get into hard-core PvP?

I'm a returning player to the game, and I was a very hard-core PvE player in early D2 and almost never touched PvP. Getting back into the game now and PvE has been pretty easy as survivability + dps is pretty simple as a concept and I've already been very good at it before.
In the time that I've been away from the game I've played many more FPS games at a high level, master in overwatch, pred in apex, and immo in valorant with T3 pro play as well. Destiny PvP has been quite difficult to learn about and I figured this might be a good place to sort of write out what I've learned so far with 2 weeks of scouring the interent and ask some questions that I couldn't find the answer to.
Ideally I'd like to focus on 3v3 comp / trials play on PC as a hunter but I'm willing to play titan as well as from what I understand bubble is broken af.
What I've gathered so far:
Questions I still have:
Is there a known best barrel per shotgun archetype if it's not gun specific?
Am I mistaken as to what the best weapon loadout is? Conditional + igneous/lunas seems ideal on solar hunter. I don't have conditional so I'm using imperial decree for now. Is this fine or is there a precision primary shotgun I should farm that's better? If so is it enough to warrant farming for it?
Is matador 64 the best shotgun in the secondary slot if I wanted to run a primary weapon? Thorn + it for example.
How much should I really care about any of this given that final shape might make most of this irrelevant?
Sorry for the long post just figured it might be better to have 1 big one than many small ones also sorry for the shotgun questions if they're pretty basic I tried watching like an hour long video and still had a fair bit of confusion on it.
TLDR: 70 resilience, 100 recovery, 100 intellect, dump the rest in mobility/discipline right?
Please someone explain shotty barrel mods to me 😭
Shotgun (conditional finality ideally) + hand cannon is ideal but I don't know whether to opt for Luna or igneous
Do I have to play bubble titan if I want to win?
Any general advice appreciated as well.

2024.05.16 19:40 dstnkng iPad Pro 2021 not showing on MacBook

Hey everybody. I just got a refurbished iPad Pro 12.9 (2021) and I wanted to check the battery health and all.
I already tried the battery health shortcut thingy within the analytics - but it keeps telling me „no log-aggregated file found“.
I then tried to connect it to my MacBook M2 and use coconut battery to check it, but the iPad won’t show up in my Finder sidebar or the coconut battery app.
Any other way to check what kind of refurbished device I got?
Grateful for any help!

2024.05.16 19:39 Ok_Frosting6547 Typing is the big holdup for me

I didn't get the Vision Pro for any special use case that I could finally uncover. I think of it as simply a better way to watch media, and to be able to have separate windows (multi-monitors) in a portable form factor. Ideally, I would like this to replace a laptop and be something I could do casual things on (nothing that requires special software that would only work with a Mac or Windows).
The big holdup for me is typing. I am currently typing this post on my Chromebook, it would be too irritating to do this on the Vision Pro without a physical keyboard. I will say the air-typing with fingers actually impressed me, because I guess I was expecting it to be as shitty as Quest, and also Marques Brownlee convinced me that air typing with your eyes is better than using your fingers but now I can say I disagree from my experience. But it's still a pain to type anything more than a few words on. I could probably get used to it, but I would be settling for something worse than just grabbing my Chromebook to write up something.
I can't do voice typing, my mind just doesn't work writing posts and comments with my voice, I have to think while I type and go back and change a few things and sometimes scrap sentences. I could consider getting a keyboard for it but I also hate the idea of having another physical component that sits on my lap, but it's going to be needed if I want a decent typing experience.
One idea I like is to have the virtual keyboard projected on a hard surface so you are touching something solid physically like a touchscreen (Touchscreen keyboards like on an iPad aren't too bad imo).

2024.05.16 19:23 Cold-Ad5919 New iPhone doesn’t charge sometimes (got fixed once and the problem is coming back)

iPhone 15 Pro Max bought the 24th of November of 2023 running on iOS 17.4.1
Bought in Europe for personal use.
My new iPhone had problems from the start. It didn’t charge sometimes (maybe once every two days I’d plug the charger and it wouldn’t work) but it slowly got worse (to the point it wouldn’t charge maybe 9 out of 10 times I’d plug it).
From the start I also noticed the screen was oddly insensitive. Like, you type and it just doesn’t register the touch, specially near the borders.
I didn’t go to fix the iPhone immediately because I thought it was probably software issues from how new this iPhone was.
But around February when it completely stopped charging I went to the Apple Store and they ran some tests and found that it wasn’t registering electric current properly. They changed the entire “back system” (exact words the employee used) and I got the phone back.
Screen issues persisted but they recommended me to factory reset my phone and then manually download back all documents and information without using iCloud’s service. Didn’t work.
Got the screen replaced too. Though I don’t really feel like it helped the problem. The typing is still super clunky and annoying.
Now my phone is starting to have charging issues again. I charged it today and it didn’t register the current. Happened last week too and from experience I fear it’s gonna slowly get worse.
I’m starting to lose it a little bit. I had hoped buying this new iPhone would make my life easier and now I kinda regret replacing my old one because the old one never gave me these kinds of problems. I also lost a lot of important photos and documents when factory resetting the iPhone because the call center employee kept hanging up and I messed up some backups with my computer.
I’d appreciate any help and thanks for reading.

2024.05.16 17:01 trivium91 Unsure of what case to get for Pro 13

I ended up getting the ESR rebound case but it's so thick and heavy, it's thicker than my old Magic Keyboard for iPad pro 11. They advertise the case to be 850G online, it's actually 950G plus 250 grams for the rubber protective case, thats basically like 1200 grams. Once you add the iPad it's 1800 grams which is almost 4 lbs. It's really heavy, though it's pretty good other than that. I would keep it just because you typically only using the keyboard at a desk anyways, so the weight is not a huge issue until you have to stuff it in your bag. Though I can't shake having to lug it around when I do back and forth from the office. I just bought the Logitech Combo Touch as its advertised as only 650g, that would put that with the iPad into MacBook Air territory weight, plus the larger trackpad is nice. Is anyone rocking the ESR yet? or waiting for Logitech? The only issue I have with Logitech is that you can't really use it in your lap.
Im not interested in the Magic Keyboard, it's too expensive and provides little protection and stacked with a pitaka case (once released) will be outrageously expensive.

Zypto caters to everyone, as it offers a secure payment system and is dedicated to making transactions smooth and fast.
Ready to know more? Today’s post dives deeper into how Zypto is set to revolutionize the crypto space via its app and token.

The Zypto App: Your Go-To Platform For Secured Payments

The crypto space has revealed remarkable projects in recent years, with the potential to provide excellent utilities to crypto users. Zypto is the focus today, as it aims to be a breath of fresh air in finance. While many fintech companies focus solely on the blockchain, Zypto recognizes that this tech can confuse newcomers or even pro traders.
As such, this company takes up the mantle by simplifying complex processes and providing accessible resources. Also, they create a welcoming space where users are empowered to explore the potential of cryptocurrency. This is precisely where the Zypto app shines.
Imagine having an app that lets you pay for your groceries with Bitcoin within minutes or send money to a loved one using their mobile number. That’s the future Zypto is building with its flagship app. Here are a few glimpses of what this app offers to savvy users:
  • Seamless Crypto Transactions
Having trouble transacting hundreds of cryptos? Zypto app is your one-stop shop for easily buying, selling, and transferring digital assets. You don’t need to bother about gas fees or blockchain interactions. Why? The app, behind the scenes, handles the heavy lifting.
Moreover, Zypto is integrated with multiple blockchain networks. So, users can trade their favorite coins without worrying about network compatibility.
  • Supports Easy Payments with Crypto
Beyond transacting, the Zypto app allows you to pay for anything with its integrated payment system. Zypto Pay utilizes the latest technology to ensure transactions are processed and secured. Therefore, you can use the app to pay for coffee or your favorite gadget online. It is as easy as when you swipe your debit cards at a payment counter.
  • Bridges The Gap for Fiat Payments
Many merchants are still not accepting crypto which is often a headache for mobile users. Fortunately, the app is integrated with smooth on-ramp and off-ramp solutions, making it absolutely easy for users to convert their crypto to fiat.
So, you are covered with your daily purchases and can convert to fiat currency whenever needed. Low on crypto holdings? You can easily fund your wallet with the app.
These are just a few perks of using the Zypto app, which aims to make crypto bill payments easy and seamless. Despite still being in its Beta phase, the app is showing remarkable progress. The development team is putting the finishing touches, and the Zypto app will be officially launched on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, on Android and iOS platforms.

The Zypto Token ($ZYPTO) That Powers the Ecosystem

Zypto introduces its native token, $ZYPTO, to power its ecosystem, including its app. Holding $ZYPTO tokens provides users access to premium features and rewards. These perks make the token valuable for users and investors seeking to invest in Zypto’s future. Consider a few of them below:
  • $ZYPTO Holders Club
As a token holder, you can join the inner cycle and become eligible for rewards based on your holdings and the potential growth of the ecosystem. You can also enjoy discounts and cashback on Zypto Pay transactions, underscoring the platform’s commitment to rewarding token holders.
The more $ZYPTO held, the more benefits received. In addition, you can be rewarded with limited-edition NFTs.
  • Interaction with The Zyptoverse
Zypto is building its metaverse to onboard Web 3.0 enthusiasts and gamers. This virtual world will be accessed via $ZYPTO, offering numerous play-to-earn games. These games will reward players and interested users for their skills and participation.
The Zypto NFTs will play a key role, as holders can enjoy exclusive in-game perks and customization options. Notably, the Zyptoverse is still under development, but we can expect its rollout after the launch of the Zypto app.
Interestingly, Zypto is also building its blockchain network to address high fees and slow transaction times. We can expect $ZYPTO tokens to power this network and provide the best crypto experience. It is equally important to note that ZYPTO tokens are available on numerous exchanges at about $0.03 per token.

Embrace The Zypto Community United by Innovation

A powerful technology without a community can be useless. Zypto understands and recognizes that fact. The platform now fosters a collaborative environment where users can learn, share ideas, and contribute to the future of finance.
Furthermore, the platform incentivizes users to complete community and social tasks, refer friends, and engage in earning ZYPs (in-app points). Upon accumulation, individuals can redeem these ZYPs for cashback, discounts on in-app purchases, and more.
According to the whitepaper, community members who hold FrenchFellas NFT will be granted exclusive privileges in the Zypto Universe. The Zypto team continues to engage with the community on social media.
With over 4,000 users on social platforms, Zypto onboards them to a world of easy payments with crypto. To engage with the team and developers, look out for weekly AMAs and live Q&A sessions.

Wrapping it Up

2024.05.16 16:43 BelethorsGeneralShit Looking for a budget tablet for my kid. Lenovo M10+, Alldocube iplay mini, others?

My kid has saved up $100 to buy himself a new tablet. I don't mind chipping in to go a little above that if need be. He currently has an Amazon kid's 8" fire tablet, which as been ok, but he's complaining about it glitching and crashing and being overall very slow, which I think is mostly to blame on it only having 2 gigs of RAM. So I'm looking for something with a minimum of 4 gigs.
His use will mostly be reading books on Sora, watching Disney+ or Netflix (through headphones), and some gaming, but nothing graphic intensive. Camera is irrelevant.
I'd prefer something in the 8" range, but 10" will be okay. Storage isn't terribly important since I can just toss in an SD card.
I've found the Lenovo M10+ which can be had for $130 refurbished and looks decent. 4 gigs of RAM and 64 gigs of storage, plus it's a big name brand.
I've also found the Alldocube iplay 50 mini. It has essentially the same specs (I'm not counting their additional 8 gigs of virtual RAM) but for only $80 and the more preferred 8.4" size. Or we can spend $135 and get the pro version, which will have 8 gigs of RAM, 256 gigs of storage, and I think a more powerful processor?
However I'm reeeeeeally hesitant about a Chinese brand I've never heard of. I've done this before and it doesn't tend to work out well in the long term. Their quality control seems to leave a lot to be desired, and I find that higher specs on paper don't necessarily translate to the real world performance you'd expect.
Any input on these two devices? Or I'm open to suggestions for other tablets as well.

A’ja Wilson Wore Nike LeBron 21 PE During 2024 WNBA Opening Night
The Las Vegas Aces were ready to kick off the 2024 WNBA season with a bang, and star forward A’ja Wilson was definitely not one to disappoint. She hit the court in a pair of flashy silver metallic shoes that caught the attention of everyone in the arena.
Just in the article we published two days ago, Nike declared that A’ja Wilson joined their signature family.
A’ja Wilson
The back-to-back champion donned shimmering Nike LeBron 21 PE sneakers that not only looked stylish but also provided the support and comfort she needed to play at her best.
The excitement didn’t stop there, as Wilson made waves with her pregame outfit. She arrived in a coordinating dark denim and red leather two-piece ensemble that highlighted her toned physique. She then completed the look with strappy red stiletto sandals that added a touch of femininity and elegance to her overall appearance.
Wilson’s love for high-shine shoes was evident as she showed off another pair of Nike LeBron 21 sneakers in a charcoal gray hue with glittery silver accents during the WNBA media day earlier this month. The baller was clearly a fan of bling, as she also wore strappy crystal-embellished sandals at the 2024 Time 100 Gala on April 25.
But it wasn’t just about the shoes and the outfit. Wilson’s talent and hard work on the court had earned her the respect and admiration of fans and fellow players alike. Prior to the tipoff, the Las Vegas Aces celebrated their 2023 championship title with a ring ceremony. Wilson, who had picked up her first WNBA Finals MVP award last season, was undoubtedly a key player in the team’s success.
As for the shoes, Wilson’s Nike LeBron 21 sneakers featured a silver metallic leather upper that glistened and shone as she played. The shoes not only looked good but also provided the necessary support and cushioning for her feet during the game.
In conclusion, A’ja Wilson’s fashion sense and basketball skills were definitely on display during the opening night of the 2024 WNBA season. Her choice of footwear and outfit made a statement, while her performance on the court spoke volumes about her talent and dedication to the game.

2024.05.16 16:21 wawawawa Looking for Linux daily driver. Ultrabook-ish. 32GB. Working hardware and fingerprint sensor.

LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE
Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US: - 1k to 1.5k EURO. This is flexible. I am in the Netherlands Are you open to refurbs/used? - I would prefer new. How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? - Don't want 2-in-1. Ultrabook / lightweight style is nice. Battery performance >10h would be good also. How important is weight and thinness to you? - I'd like a Macbook Air or Pro style, but running Linux. Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. - Currently have 13". Would be happy with 14 or 14.5". - I would like >FHD. So, 2K or even 4K would be preferred. Is OLED worth it over IPS? - I use 2x 4K monitors in my office. I have a Thunderbolt 3 dock. It would be nice if the laptop could drive both monitors at 4K via the TB (or USB-C) dock. Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. - No heavy graphical stuff. - Mostly web browsing. Coding (Rust, golang, Python), maybe a VM or two. - In fact, I'd prefer not to have Nvidia or AMD discrete graphics. I think Arc would be fine. If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? - I don't really plan to game on this. I have a workstation for that. Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? - I'd love a fingerprint reader that works with Linux - US keyboard is fine Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. - Lightweight, reasonably quick. Stylish looks. - I think screen is really important. Good quality, high resolution. I've been spoiled by macbook Retina screens. - I think I need more than 16GB - 32 GB would be good. - My current daily driver is a Dell XPS 13 (7390) with 16GB. - 1TB NVMe is enough for storage. - I use a Macbook Air M for work. I like to keep work and play separate. I prefer Linux over macOS. - The Acer Swift Go 14 and the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED look interesting. But I think there's no Linux driver for the Acer fingerprint sensor.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions!
