2024.05.15 15:11 Sweet-Count2557 What Month Is Safest to Travel During Pregnancy

What Month Is Safest to Travel During Pregnancy
What Month Is Safest to Travel During Pregnancy Did you know that choosing the right month to travel during pregnancy can significantly impact your safety? With so many factors to consider, it's important to make informed decisions. In this article, we will explore the safest months for travel during each trimester of pregnancy. From evaluating risks in the first trimester to navigating the middle ground in the second trimester, and considering special precautions for high-risk pregnancies, we will provide you with expert advice and tips for a smooth journey. Stay safe and enjoy your travels! Key Takeaways
The second trimester is often considered the safest time to travel during pregnancy. Pregnancy-related complications are less likely during this period. Choose pregnancy-friendly destinations with accessible medical facilities. Consider locations with mild weather and safe transportation options.
Evaluating the Risks: Traveling During the First Trimester
Traveling during the first trimester can be considered safe for most pregnant women. However, it is important to understand and evaluate the potential risks involved before making any travel plans. One of the main concerns when flying during pregnancy is the risk of blood clots, also known as deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Changes in blood flow and pressure can increase this risk, so it's crucial to take necessary precautions. To minimize these risks, make sure to wear compression stockings or socks, drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, and avoid crossing your legs for prolonged periods. Another concern is the exposure to radiation from airport security scanners or cosmic rays during high-altitude flights. While the level of radiation exposure is generally low and unlikely to cause harm, it's still advisable to limit unnecessary exposure. Opting for alternative screening methods at airports or avoiding frequent air travel may provide peace of mind. Furthermore, morning sickness and fatigue are common symptoms experienced during the first trimester. These discomforts may be exacerbated by air travel due to changes in cabin pressure and motion sickness. It's essential to listen to your body's cues and rest whenever needed. Navigating the Middle Ground: Traveling During the Second Trimester
Finding a good balance, many expecting mothers opt to travel during their second trimester. This is often considered the safest time to travel as most pregnancy-related complications are less likely to occur compared to the first and third trimesters. During this period, you can still enjoy exploring new destinations while managing your pregnancy symptoms. When planning your trip, it's important to choose pregnancy-friendly destinations that offer easy access to medical facilities and have a favorable climate. Consider locations with mild weather and avoid places with extreme temperatures or high altitudes that may put unnecessary stress on your body. Additionally, ensure that the destination has safe and reliable transportation options. To make your travel experience more comfortable, it's essential to manage common pregnancy symptoms such as fatigue, nausea, and swollen feet. Take frequent breaks during sightseeing activities, stay hydrated, and listen to your body when it needs rest. Pack comfortable clothing and shoes that accommodate any swelling in your feet or ankles. Here's a helpful table outlining some key considerations for traveling during the second trimester:
Consideration Tips
Choose Pregnancy-Friendly Destinations Accessible medical facilities; favorable climate
Manage Pregnancy Symptoms Take frequent breaks; stay hydrated; pack comfortable clothing
Remember to consult with your healthcare provider before making any travel plans and follow their recommendations for a safe journey. Considerations for Late Stage Travel: Traveling During the Third Trimester
In the third trimester, it's crucial to prioritize comfort and safety when making travel plans. As your pregnancy progresses, there may be certain travel restrictions you need to consider. It's important to consult with your healthcare provider before embarking on any trips during this stage. Some airlines may have policies restricting travel after a certain week of pregnancy, so it's essential to check their guidelines beforehand. Managing discomfort during late stage travel is also a key consideration. As your belly grows bigger and heavier, you may experience increased back pain and fatigue. It's advisable to choose comfortable modes of transportation that allow for frequent breaks and ample legroom. Plan for regular stretching exercises or short walks during long journeys. Additionally, pack essentials like snacks, water, and pillows for added comfort during the trip. Wearing loose-fitting clothing and supportive footwear can also help alleviate discomfort. Now that we've discussed considerations for late stage travel, let's move on to special considerations for high-risk pregnancies: traveling safely. Special Considerations for High-Risk Pregnancies: Traveling Safely
If you have a high-risk pregnancy, it's important to consult with your healthcare provider before making any travel plans. Your safety and the well-being of your baby are paramount, so taking certain precautions is crucial. Here are some tips to help you travel safely and stay comfortable during your journey. Firstly, make sure to discuss your travel plans with your healthcare provider. They can evaluate the risks associated with your specific condition and provide guidance tailored to your needs. It's also essential to have a contingency plan in case of any medical emergencies that may arise during your trip. When it comes to traveling, consider choosing destinations that are closer to home and have access to adequate medical facilities. It's also advisable to avoid destinations with higher altitudes or extreme climates. During long journeys, whether by car or plane, take frequent breaks to stretch your legs and avoid sitting for extended periods. Wear loose-fitting clothing and comfortable shoes that won't restrict circulation. Additionally, staying hydrated is vital, so drink plenty of water throughout the trip. Finally, pack all necessary medications and relevant medical records in case of emergencies. Remember to follow any dietary restrictions recommended by your healthcare provider. Tips for a Smooth Travel Experience: Preparing for Your Journey
To ensure a smooth travel experience, it is essential to plan ahead and gather all necessary documents and essentials before your journey. Whether you're traveling for business or pleasure, having a preparing checklist can help you stay organized and prepared. Before you embark on your trip, make sure to check off these items from your list. First and foremost, don't forget your essential travel documents. This includes your passport, visa (if required), driver's license, and any other identification that may be necessary. It's also a good idea to make copies of these documents in case of loss or theft. Next, consider any additional documentation that may be required based on your destination or purpose of travel. For example, if you're traveling with children who are not your own, you may need written permission from their parents or legal guardians. If you have any medical conditions or allergies, it's advisable to carry relevant medical records or doctor's notes. Other essentials to remember include travel insurance information, emergency contact numbers both at home and abroad, as well as any necessary prescriptions or medications. It's always wise to pack a first aid kit with basic supplies such as band-aids, pain relievers, and antiseptics. 2024.05.15 14:30 Easy_Afternoon_7066 I am sick of my friends always being unrealistic and hoping the best

Me (F17) and my 3 friends (Fs16) are always together in school works, the rest of our classmates don’t like us and we are really close so we just always stick together. And every time we have a deadline we don’t do the work until last second, most of the times we don’t even do. for example my english teacher (we are not native english speakers btw) gave us a month to create a play to present to our class. My group in comparison to other classmates has an easier time in english and they just take it like “i can speak english so we don’t need to worry about it”(in my opinion it should be the other way around, because we can do it less difficultly than others we should work more and have the better grade possible, but okay) and well today is the deadline, our play needs to have at least 8 minutes and ours doesn’t even covers a 1 minute. yesterday they decided to change the topic we originally had planed. and now i came an hour earlier to school and they don’t even care about this, they are just hoping that our very strict teacher lets us do it another time when she specifically said that everyone had to present today. literally yesterday i skipped lunch and wasted my free afternoon in 10 lines of work, which is noting compared to what we need, and rn i am alone at school while they are talking with some other friends. non of us has been getting good grades lately, my best grade was a 13 (0 to 20) in english and it’s almost to the same for them. English could be the subject we had an easier time to make our final grades (i don’t remember how it’s called) better. am i being to uptight on this or do i have a reason to worry ?

2024.05.15 14:21 Significant-Notice- The Screwworm

The Atlantic: Screwworms once killed millions of dollars’ worth of cattle a year in the southern U.S. Their range extended from Florida to California, and they infected any living, warm-blooded animal: not only cattle but deer, squirrels, pets, and even the occasional human. In fact, the screwworm’s scientific name is C. hominivorax or “man eater”—so named after a horrific outbreak among prisoners on Devil’s Island, an infamous 19th-century French penal colony in South America.
For untold millennia, screwworms were a grisly fact of life in the Americas. In the 1950s, however, U.S. ranchers began to envision a new status quo. They dared to dream of an entire country free of screwworms. At their urging, the United States Department of Agriculture undertook what would ultimately become an immense, multidecade effort to wipe out the screwworms, first in the U.S. and then in Mexico and Central America—all the way down to the narrow strip of land that is the Isthmus of Panama. The eradication was a resounding success. But the story does not end there. Containing a disease is one thing. Keeping it contained is another thing entirely, as the coronavirus pandemic is now so dramatically demonstrating.
To get the screwworms out, the USDA to this day maintains an international screwworm barrier along the Panama-Colombia border. The barrier is an invisible one, and it is kept in place by constant human effort. Every week, planes drop 14.7 million sterilized screwworms over the rainforest that divides the two countries. A screwworm-rearing plant operates 24/7 in Panama. Inspectors cover thousands of square miles by motorcycle, boat, and horseback, searching for stray screwworm infections north of the border. The slightest oversight could undo all the work that came before.
A reminder that civilization takes work. Excellent piece by Sarah Zhang. Read the whole thing.

Then binigyan na nga daw sya boarding pass which was Gate 16 na 12:10pm yung flight, then that boarding pass was rescheduled again upon waiting to 2pm as announce sa TV nila.
I thought ok na at yung refund na tinutukoy nya sa chat is for that Senior Citizen.
Grabe lang no? Nagtry ako sa refund pero to be investigated pa daw. Talaga ba?

2024.05.15 13:47 jrhunt84 Homeowners Insurance - Greater regulation needed

It's not very often that I'll advocate for more government regulation but good grief...Insurance Companies definitely need greater oversight!
I currently live in North Texas (DFW) and when I moved here in 2015, from Illinois, my homeowners insurance (on our first home) was $1,950 and even that was sticker shock as our insurance back in Illinois was $900 a year. We bought our current home, in DFW, back in 2018 and our first policy on this home was $2,400 a year....not terrible but still higher than what I was paying up north.
We've had Travelers insurance since the day we moved to TX and have had zero claims on home or auto (both are with them) but our rates keep sky rocketing! Last year, around this time, they sent me renewal documents quoting us $4,500 for the year vs the $3,000 we paid the year before. All they would say is "rate's are increasing in TX". No rhyme or reason or justification as far as I could see. I had them raise my deductible's to 1% (we have "hail" and "everything else" deductibles in TX) of home value and that brought the new premium down to $3,300 (much better but still outrageous).
Fast forward to this week and I get my renewal doc's for 2024 and guess what....another $1,500 increase and premium of $4,888 for the year. This time around, I'm shopping my policies. Clearly Traveler's is trying to force their customers out or just don't care. What bug's me even worse is reading their Q1 earnings numbers and seeing their net revenue was $1.5B but here they are raising my rates with zero claims.
We don't have a pool, trampoline, out buildings, or any dog's considered "dangerous" that would justify higher rates. The home was built new in 2018 so age isn't a factor and we aren't in/on a flood plane/zone. To make matters worse, I also pay Traveler's $3,000 a year to insure two vehicles that again....have zero claims and zero speeding tickets.
So basically, I've paid Traveler's insurance close to $60,000 since moving to TX and have filed ZERO claims and haven't used my insurance once yet my premiums keep going up. Someone please tell me why our a product (home insurance and car insurance) that is required by law....isn't regulated better? I'm all for free market and capitalism but only when it's something that the government (state or federal) doesn't require me to buy.

2024.05.15 13:32 Th3BabblingBrook3 Transformers! [F4M or APM]

Hey hey hey! I'm Rexi and I'm a 21 year old who absolutely love transformers with a PASSION! G1? Prime? And of course IDW (although still reading), we don't even get started on the new Skybound comics! (Just reordered them!) I am really, really fending for a transformers RP! Preferably a transformer x human because, well, who can blame me? It's been cannon a few times and it's always so checking cute!
Anywho, I'm really open to using ocs or even Canon characters! I'll be super, dooper real with you! For cannon, I really want to find someone to play either, Starscream (PLS PLS PLS), Soundwave, Megatron or even Shockwave! Deceptions are my favourite I'm sure like a lot of people. However! I'm super open to anyone who wants to play a cybatroian oc!^(specifically a con)
I haven't got a heap of plots but I really wanna build something with someone, so it's fun for both parties! I love for it to be fun for everyone! I also love character driven plots with all the angst, drama and slow burn possible!
Now for my rules!^
If you have ideas or anything feel free to let me know! As well I have a tad few rules. 1: no minors. I am 21 and refuse any minors in my dms. 2: OCs must be above 18, preferably 21 and up. 3: Semi literate and above. 4: Third person, no first person. 5: Be happy to chat and even become friends! I use RP to make friends so please don't come into my DMs hella serious and straight to the point, show me some of your personality! Can't have a good RP if our vibes don't match! 6: Send me a plane emoji if you read all of this. 7: Feel free to DM if interested, comments will most likely he ignored because it shows you didn't read all through tehehe. 8: Please let us shift to a private discord server! 9: Google docs with out characters info! Doesn't have to be a heap but a little always helps. 10: I work and Volunteer so sometimes I may be a tad AFK so don't think I ignored you! Same with if I don't reply for awhile I'm probably asleep, I have a slight pain of a time zone! 11: please don't take control of each other's characters, it's a big old pet peeve of mine! 12: no NSFW, erp, smutt or whatever you want to call it. I'm not comfortable with it and you will not convince me to partake in it! The most is a fade to black thats it.

https://preview.redd.it/a6n4sml0mk0d1.png?width=924&format=png&auto=webp&s=2a41a27ea7fd02f6c9dc7d5120b042d2b5875d1a
Since a couple of months I wasn't happy with the calorie calculator header. Especially because I still needed to calculate by my own, how far I'm actually was from my daily goal limits. So i decided to add these details, but I don't wanted to change the size of summary module so instead of adding new rows, I merged the "max" and "min" rows to a new "Range" row and added a new multi functional "Difference" row. Here you can see in blue if you are under you range, green if you are in you range and red if you are over your range. It's also shows how far are you from your daily goal values.
I also changed the Noom block from vertical to horizontal orientation, added some slight background colours for the zones and it's also got the "Range" / "Difference", mentioned above.
The calorie density meter got more compact, to free up some space for a new module:

Calorie outtake module

This new module added to give an options to you to register your daily calories burned next to your calorie intake. So in the "History" page you can keep track of both of them including the difference. By default it populate this field with your Active calorie output number from your profile page. However if you have a smart watch or other ways to calculate your output you can change this number before you hit the "Finish day" button. (The default value also can be changed, but more about that in the following days)
Please share you thoughts in the comments!

2024.05.15 12:22 Cynicast9 With 51 sessions under our belt, both Auril and Cryonax have been defeated as summer returns to Icewind Dale. AMA

After a year and a few months of playing (mostly) weekly games, summer has returned to Icewind Dale after the death of Auril and Cryonax.
Our party:

Act 1: Ten Towns (Chapter 1)

I ran the early quests fairly as is, but minimised the sandbox-y nature of them. I always felt that if the 'correct' quests weren't seen or completed then Chapters 3 and 4 just get sort of thrown onto the party with little warning. So, using Cold-Hearted Killer as an overarching quest, the party found themselves wandering over to the quests that I felt were fun and/or necessary for the future story.
Within this Act the party met the goblins of Foaming Mugs, explored the haunted Gem Mine in Termalaine, killed both the wendigo assaulting citizens of Lonelywood and the yetis atop Kelvin's Cairn, protected the Easthaven Town Hall from simultaneous break-ins, and were killed by the Summer Star.
The early quests are a blast, each with their own little stories or things to explore. Though a lot of them within my Act 1 were just to expand the world and allow the PCs to meet the various NPCs within Ten Towns. I found this to be a good starting to point on how they might approach Destruction's Light in the future.

Act 2: Sunblight (Chapters 3 & 4)

I treated the Black Cabin quest as a transition to learn more about chardalyn (which was unknown up to this point), and introduce the duergar into the story more. The party learnt of various break ins and strange activities that haunted Caer-Konig, Easthaven and Termalaine, with the only clue being footsteps within the snow.
Receiving a letter from the Soothsayer, the party learnt of Xardorok and were informed of the Duergar Outpost at the base of Kelvin's Cairn. This led them to the Easthaven Ferry to find the other Sunblight child, who tried his best to escape the party's grasp. Heading into the spine of the world, the party encountered the Id Ascendant and eventually made their way to Sunblight Fortress where Vellynne Harpell was introduced.
At the end of Act 2, the party would become the 'Heroes of Ten Towns' managing to save only two of the towns from destruction but warning the citizens ahead of time, allowing them to escape unscathed.
Sunblight and Destruction's Light were fun as hell to run

Act 3: Ending the Endless Winter (Chaters 5, 6 & 7)

Using the quests from Chapter 2, and the help of Vellynne, the party learnt of the Island of Solstice and the Codicil of White. Heading their they fought Geluvicken and collected their prize. Erret became a 'Chosen of Auril' accepting her challenge to receive her blessing and succeeding.
Exploring the Lost Spire of Netheril allowed the party to find the location of the Glacier Entrance and eventually explore the Caves of Hunger. While Tekeli-li was fun to haunt the party with, the big reveal within the Caves was Cryonax a.k.a. The Thing in the Ice and originator of Cursed Chardalyn. Learning this, the party knew that Auril wouldn't be the only 'god' they fight within Ythryn.
After exploring most of the Towers of Magic, putting an end to the Zhentarim and Arcane Brotherhood, the party explored the Spire and met Iriolarthas after hearing about him over and over. While it was a difficult fight, they defeated him and went on to use the Mythallar to end the Endless Winter. Quickly, they found themselves against Auril, but after Kithkin sacrificed himself to put an end to Auri's 3rd form, the party were safe. However the looming threat of Cryonax weighed in their mind.
Heading back into the Caves, they found Cryonax within a large throne room made entirely of ice, and after defeating a few of his minions their final fight broke out. However, with the weird magical effects suffused within Cryonax, the party found themselves Plane Jumping and teleported back in time to previous fights they had had (as well as other effects). With Erret getting the final blow on Cryonax, everyone was brought back to present-day Ythryn and summer returned to Icewind Dale.
I'm a huge fan of this module, despte some of it's rougher areas and quite large prep times. I ended up adding a lot of homebrew elements from different sources across the internet to make Icewind Dale my own. Feel free to ask what additions I made to the module.

2024.05.15 11:29 alphariusomega123 clarifying things about the story of Final Crisis: Superman Beyond that many people didn't understand (long post).

clarifying things about the story of Final Crisis: Superman Beyond that many people didn't understand (long post).
Although it will soon be 16 years since its publication, the story of Final Crisis: Superman Beyond continues to be a source of misinformation and controversy. Whether due to Grant Morrison's particular way of telling stories, whether due to his strongly metaphorical writing or simply poor reading comprehension (something that seems to abound among comic book readers), there are many elements that are still a matter of debate about the same.
For these reasons, I decided to make this article, where I will try to resolve the most frequently asked questions about this story, and above all, clarify the power of the Thought Robot.
Without further ado, let's start by explaining the context and then what interests everyone.
1) WHAT HAPPENS IN FINAL CRISIS: SUPERMAN BEYOND?:
Superman Beyond is, above all, a story about the concept of stories and the role of superheroes in them in the DC universe. For those who haven't read it, I'm going to do a super quick summary: during the Final Crisis, Lois falls seriously ill and is admitted to the Metropolis hospital. Then Superman is visited by Zillo Valla, one of the monitors, who offers him the chance to save her wife in exchange for helping her save the multiverse.
Zillo has also recruited other Supermans from different universes with similar promises, including Overman, Captain Adam, Shazam from Earth-4, and Ultraman from the antimatter universe. Zillo's ship is attacked and ends up crashing into Limbo. There, Superman and Shazam find an infinite book that reveals the origin story of the monitors and about the enemy they face, known as Mandrakk, the dark monitor.
When Mandrakk's forces attack Limbo, Captain Adam manages to contact the Monitor-Mind, and uses that knowledge to merge the consciousnesses of Superman and Ultraman, which ascend to a higher dimension (the sphere of the monitors) and activate the Thought Robot, a weapon created to combat Mandrakk. There, Superman is greeted by Monitor Weeja Dell, and the Monitors' true nature is revealed as parasites that feed on the Bleed.
Mandrakk was banished for forcing them to confront this fact. Finally, Mandrakk appears and kills Zillo Valla, but Superman manages to defeat him by expelling him into the Overvoid. Superman carves words into a tomb and takes a vial of refined Bleed with him before returning to Limbo, where he and the other Supermans destroy Mandrakk's army. Lois is saved from her when Superman transfers the Bleed extract to her with a kiss.
Ultimately, Ultraman is turned into a vampire by Rox Ogama, Mandrakk's disciple, who swears revenge, and it is revealed that the words Superman carved into the tomb were "To be continued...", in reference to the cyclical nature of Ultraman's history. superhero comics.
2) ABOUT THE NAME "COSMIC ARMOR":
Before continuing with the explanations, it is important that we clarify that, contrary to popular belief, the robot used to fight Mandrakk is not called "Cosmic Armor". "Cosmic Armor" is an adjective that Mandrakk uses to refer as a mockery to this robot in two moments of the fight (which are actually the same, only one is a flashforward), but this is not a real title, nor much less is it called that.
https://imgur.com/a/R8TYnL1
https://imgur.com/a/tf4qLk2
And the truth is that the name of the machine is... well it has no official name. At no point in the comic is he assigned a specific name. The closest is when, on two occasions, two characters refer to it as a "Thought Robot" or a "Thought Robot": once by Captain Adam and once by Weeja Dell.
https://imgur.com/a/uDED6zM
https://imgur.com/a/amC6YiN
And that's basically what it is: a living weapon with a body of pure thought, created to combat the ultimate enemy. So the most correct name to refer to the entity is Thought Robot, and not "Cosmic Armor", since it is not even armor.
https://imgur.com/a/WcVSjOk
https://imgur.com/a/amC6YiN
3) THE BOOK OF INFINITE PAGES:
One of the most controversial moments in the comic occurs when Superman and Shazam hold a book with infinite pages, and said book is later lifted by Ultraman, who claims to have read the last page. This makes many wonder if it is a legitimate feat, since it implies that Superman and Shazam have infinite strength and that Ultraman is stronger than both of them combined. The reality of the feat is much more complex.
https://imgur.com/a/0qqiXIX
The context behind the book is that this is a literal plot device that, symbolizing the infinite monkey theorem (Merryman makes the reference), retroactively contains every possible book in the DC universe. The infinite pages of the book occupy the same physical space (so the mass is ambiguous), due to which Superman and Shazam could not read it and tried to take it to Zillo Valla's ship.
https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teorema_del_mono_infinito
https://imgur.com/a/uGHROmM
They fail, and instead, the book reveals the existence of the Monitor-Mind and the history of the Monitors, causing Shazam to have a premonition with the key to defeating Mandrakk. Which means that, of the infinite stories in the book, Superman and Shazam only access one, the original story about the same story concept. Now, many say that the book cannot be infinite because Ultraman moves it and claims that it has an end. This is wrong.
https://imgur.com/a/FHzOHZj
https://imgur.com/a/I2XSYrg
Ultraman can see the end of the book and move it because the book is, as we have already said, a literal representation of all the DC stories, and Mandrakk was destroying those same stories and moving towards the multiverse. That's why Ultraman says that "evil wins in the end." The meaning behind this symbolism is that superhero stories are infinitely cyclical and these can only end if evil defeats good, which would make the book stop being infinite as there are no more stories.
https://imgur.com/a/DSUMTg3
In short, the feat is legitimate, but only because the book was no longer infinite as Mandrakk destroyed the stories he tells. We'll talk about Mandrakk's plot manipulation below. Breathe easy Superman nerfers, you no longer need to continue inventing far-fetched excuses to nerf the character you hate.
4) HOW BIG IS THE THOUGHT ROBOT?:
This issue has been highly debated over the years due to the lack of reading comprehension of many readers, ranging from people who claim that it is only 6 meters tall because it is a little bigger than the monitors to those who say it is bigger than the entire omniverse (?). To understand the reality about the size of the Thought Robot, it is essential to first know its history.
The Monitor-Mind sent a probe to examine a"glitch" (which was, in fact, the stories concept) within itself, and said probe would eventually split into two halves, one of which would become a Thought Robot, at the same time the fault was sealed behind it with divine metals, giving rise to the orrery of worlds. The sphere and civilization of the monitors was formed around said structure.
https://imgur.com/a/kdMn6Mq
In this place we can see how this Thought Robot has a size similar to that of the planetarium (and in passing "billions of worlds" are mentioned, denying that there are only 52 universes), which is consistent with that shown in the flashbacks. The famous scene that many believe is the Though Robot "lifting" a galaxy with a fingernail (it's not actually lifting anything) is, in fact, Limbo, which looks this small when viewed from this sphere.
https://imgur.com/a/VEBRwAG
https://gyazo.com/303e8d116a036fac1985c79dcae06843
Zillo Valla herself explains that mere nanomachines of the monitors are already gigantic war machines from the perspective of the realms below their sphere, including the sphere of the gods. So yes, the robot is bigger than universes and multiverses... simply because in the sphere of the monitors, everything that is on a human scale is already bigger than universes and multiverses.
5) HOW POWERFUL IS THE THOUGHT ROBOT?:
With the above, one could make the mistake of thinking that Mandrakk and the Thought Robot are only powerful because of their size relative to the planes lower than these, but nothing could be further from the truth. A casual attack from Mandrakk was enough to instantly kill Zillo Valla in the monitor sphere, and the Thought Robot withstood many attacks like that.
https://imgur.com/a/OCxkVE8
He also shook the entire sphere of monitors with his mere activation, which surrounds and is larger than the sphere of the gods, the planetarium of worlds and all the multiverses of these plus his bleedspace combined. He also devastated Nil in her clash against Mandrakk, city of the monitors, and cornerstone of the multiverse or even "a multiverse of multiverses", which also occupies an appreciable part of the sphere. (If you know a little about DC cosmology, I think there is no need on my part to explain his power level with the above.)
https://gyazo.com/303e8d116a036fac1985c79dcae06843
https://imgur.com/a/XpjAsRJ
https://imgur.com/a/pAcRKQT
https://imgur.com/a/Bpyo1UI
https://imgur.com/a/AG3OTvh
https://imgur.com/a/XpjAsRJ
Unfortunately there is not much about his speed, although it is implied that he perceives the entirety of space-time in a non-linear manner, as well as being able to dodge Mandrakk's attacks, to which the monitors cannot react, and these scale above of the elves of the fifth dimension. So this is clearly incommensurable.
https://imgur.com/a/amC6YiN
https://imgur.com/a/ZIh5oXn
In short, an extremely powerful character.
6) WHAT ARE THE SKILLS OF THE THOUGHT ROBOT?:
One of the great ironies of the Superman Beyond story is that Mandrakk is unaware that he is Dax Novu and Thought Robot one of his original halves until the end of himself. For this reason, they both possess similar powers and abilities. On the part of the Thought Robot, it showed a very powerful reactive evolution that allows it to instantly adapt to any threat, so that the stronger Mandrakk became, the stronger he also became.
https://imgur.com/a/vzZQHTE
https://imgur.com/a/amC6YiN
https://imgur.com/a/pAcRKQT
He also demonstrated the ability to break the fourth wall, extending his hand to directly touch the reader (the original comic included 3D glasses to do the effect), denoting a certain superiority with respect to conventional DC narrative. He also possesses transdualism, being activated by the contradictory essences of Superman and Ultraman (Captain Adam himself states that there are no dualities, only symmetries).
https://imgur.com/a/rsZtCAU
https://imgur.com/a/uURRUj2
https://imgur.com/a/tSuw958
https://imgur.com/a/Y4TWipN
By the words of Captain Adam himself, Superman now shares (or even surpasses) his understanding of reality, which implies a high level of cosmic senses that translate into what was already mentioned above. Grant Morrison also considers that both this being and Mandrakk possess conceptual manipulation, respectively embodying various contradictory concepts such as good and evil, black and white, is and is not, etc.
https://imgur.com/a/Y4TWipN
https://www.ign.com/articles/2009/02/03/inside-the-mind-of-grant-morrison?page=3
It is also well served with resistance: it is a body of pure thought, so the manipulation of matter, soul or reality would be ineffective against it. Also the manipulation of the mind, since after Limbo, memory ceases to have meaning. Additionally, he resisted being destroyed by a self-assembled hyper-story created by Mandrakk, so he is also resistant to plot manipulation.
https://imgur.com/a/WcVSjOk
https://imgur.com/a/XpjAsRJ
https://imgur.com/a/ZIh5oXn
Lastly, both he and Mandrakk are resistant to existential erasure and void manipulation, as they were both originally part of the Monitor-Mind. In fact, Mandrakk survived a free fall into the Overvoid which is mentioned to have erased even his very idea, as seen in The Unexpected #2 and explained in The Unexpected #5.
https://imgur.com/a/DgFCJn0
https://imgur.com/a/vzZQHTE
https://imgur.com/a/TL4Qz8I
https://imgur.com/a/qriylYT
7) DAX NOVU AND ROX OGAMA:
A very common confusion that I regularly see is seeing people confuse Dax Novu with Rox Ogama. I don't blame them, since they both call themselves "Mandrakk" and are physically very similar. The problem with this confusion is that it leads many people to draw wrong conclusions about the character's power level and spread misinformation under the well-worn pretext of consistency. However, they are not the same character.
The first thing to know is that "Mandrakk" is the title by which the dark monitor is known, but it is not the real name of either of the two. The Mandrakk we talk about in this article is Dax Novu, who was the first monitor to assume the title; The Mandrakk who appears at the end of Superman Beyond and Final Crisis is Rox Ogama, who assumes the title after Dax Novu's apparent death following his battle with the Thought Robot.
https://imgur.com/a/gAUGtlw
https://imgur.com/a/KR1lTWi
Of course, they are not even remotely comparable in power: Rox Ogama became more powerful than a regular monitor thanks to constantly vampirizing the bleed, but ended up pulverized by a joint attack by the Green Lantern Corps; Dax Novu not only survived his battle with the Thought Robot, but also with the Unexpected, which is why he is still alive today.
https://imgur.com/a/V94hAdH
https://imgur.com/a/qriylYT
https://imgur.com/a/RwCvEgz
8) IS THIS THE MOST POWERFUL VERSION OF SUPERMAN?:
Technically this is not a "version" of Superman, as the events of Superman Beyond occur within the main Post Crisis continuity. Strictly speaking, it's not about Superman either, since the Thought Robot is something external to him that is managed jointly by his and Ultraman's consciousness. Rather than a version, it would be more appropriate to classify this being as a "mecha".
All those technicalities aside, yes, this is by far the most powerful Superman. By Captain Adam's indirect admission, he cannot even compare to this being, and Captain Adam is already one of the most powerful Supermans in the multiverse. Strange Visitor at most scales above Mister Mxyzptlk, and Prime-Superman (often incorrectly called "One Million") showed nothing remotely similar.
https://imgur.com/a/tSuw958
9) IS THIS ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL BEINGS IN DC?:
The answer is an obvious no. While this entity is extremely powerful even by comic book standards, it is still a long way from being able to measure up to the top tiers of the verse. Both Perpetua and her children greatly surpass him in power and size, and we know that in turn beings that rise from her have no rival within the multiverse and can destroy its entirety, including the sphere of the monitors.
https://imgur.com/a/KhxJz4o
https://imgur.com/a/LU0PjPH
https://imgur.com/a/0yZXbaA
Similarly, Mandrakk damaged him beyond repair, and we know from Justice League Incarnate that Mandrakk is a mere avatar of The Great Darkness, along with beings that scale from Perpetua like The Batman Who Laughs. In turn, The Great Darkness is an opponent or rival of The Light / Monitor-Mind, with The Great Darkness being in turn an avatar of Lucifer, if we take vol 3 as canonical. (clarified that I'm not saying it is but it would only be if someone took it into their personal headcanon with current information).
https://imgur.com/a/O2R8CmU
https://imgur.com/a/rlQX8vT
https://imgur.com/a/JmsFFRl
https://imgur.com/a/RyF0LZP
https://imgur.com/a/6EaO4NM
Finally, Lucifer himself is a creation of The Presence to define himself in the face of the nothingness that entails embodying the sum of all concepts, according to his own words. We also cannot forget beings like the Eternals, with the entire multiverse of Perpetua (including the sphere of the gods) being among the things within the book of Destiny.
https://imgur.com/a/odFhCkM
https://imgur.com/a/XpjAsRJ
In short, the Thought Robot is very high on DC's power scale, but it is not even remotely among the strongest.
Anyway, I hope you have a good day/afternoon/night or when you read this, I for one will go to sleep.

2024.05.15 10:44 AbsentFriend99 30/M - how to explain to spouse 32/F to not only enjoy life while we not where we want to be?

One of my few post that i share on reddit, but this problem is affecting our relationship in last couple of months quite a bit.
A bit of background....i was a professionall football player till 21 years old, had from 16 to 21 very bad mindset about things in life, ( parties, drugs, girls) searched only for short term fun without any goals in life or concentration on present moment and what needs to be done to sustain life i was living.
Im now 30 years old, moved to another country to start from scratch more or less...reading mindset and goal oriented books has helped me much about how to look on life. Im now working and playing football to have 2 seperate incomes which are okey to get by and save some.
My spouse, i love her very much. She is down to earth person, she is direct, helpfull, caring and many other things. She lack motivation to improve herself in any way.
When we started living together back in the days we talked about long term goal = that we do in our life what we will be happy to do, this we both meant:
-To work normal job that we at least a bit enjoy and is payed okey
I do consider myself last couple of years to do "hard" things that will benefit us in a long term. Ofcourse could invest more time, but better some than none i guess.
My week is like this:
-work Monday-Friday
-football trainings 3x per week + weekend game
My goal is to be in future football trainier at club or to be individual trainer for players who want to try to become pro.
2nd goal to be fitness coach for recreatives, in best way to open in future own studio and can help people become fit ( workouts, streching, massages)
Girlfriend :
Is currently at home for a year now, which we both agreed and we like it that she dont need to go to work at some company that she will hate. She dont yet speak language that is used where we currently alive... So work she would like to do would be hard to find and also we have stable income and for now enough money that she can be at home. She is not lazy.
The problem we have in last months is that she cant understand really when we talk about concept "do things that are hard now, that in future will be easier" or dont just go past the day with short term fun ( mobile games, food, tv, sex, buying things online, planing vacations).
From time to time i remind her about our goal and what for example she did towards this goal for us in last month. Trying to explain that mobile games every morning and searching things online to buy, are free time things that should be done moderate while other things that can help heus in future are not even focused on.
Problem that i see in her is that anything that is now enjoyable ( cleaning the house, going for a walk/run/fitness, read a book, water the garden, clean the dishes etc,) are things just to be done quick as possible and then return to enjoyable things.
The worst thing is when i try to be direct with her and try to explain that what she do most of the days brings no benefit to us, also im direct that i dont want that she over push herself, but once twice in a month she could do something for our goals, or at least ask me something about this, tips help, she could suggest something or just that we talk about some things that we can improve in any way.
When i come home from training or work is just lets watch movie, lets cuddle, lets play cards etc. ( fun things)
Last time i asked about why in last month or two didnt do any workout besides going for a walk to my training place ( 25min away), the answer i got is why i dont suggest to go hill hiking once or 2 per month???
So the problem is when i confront her sometimes if she is even willing to do for herself/us something beneficial long term is always comming to an end where im the bad person and insult her that she is nothing.
And thats far from my point, i try to explain that from nothing we get nothing, not that she is 0 and im hero.
We both are in normal situated life right now but like from our goal is to rise above working level and do things that only gets you by.
Couple days ago the argument finished with me saying: I dont see myself with person who only looks for fun and easy things and dont even understand the concept of what to do in present to be better someday( in a year or 20 years)
Answer was from her: i also dont like to be with person who says im 0 all the time.
Please share some answer or your point on view on this, i appreciate it.
TLDR: Spouse seems to not understand without thinking that i insult her, when trying to explain that some things we dont want to in the present do is neccessary for long term goals.

2024.05.15 07:52 Cha0spixxie 30 [F4M] Colorado/USA - Trying to find my concert buddy 💕

Hey y'all my name is Anne (30F), and I'm in the process of moving back to Colorado after 12 years in the Midwest.
The dating apps are abysmal so I thought I'd try posting here!
Anyways! 😊 I work remotely doing online marketing for an e-commerce vendor. I have two cats who are the only children I'll ever need; and I'm planing on trying to get my tubes tied later this year.
Outside of work I like to swim, read, collect vinyl, go to however many concerts I can fit into my schedule, and shoot film photography. I grew up around art and a perfect day for me is exploring an art museum followed by some Thai food and thrifting.
My music taste and style would lean more towards the punk/metalcore/pop-punk scene, and I'm always down to see a show.
As far as politics and religion go, I Identify as left leaning politically and I am a practicing pagan. I'm not looking for my partner to understand or practice my faith, just know and understand that it's important to me.
As far as what I'm looking for in partner goes: I'm looking for a partner to travel the world with, and someone to come home to. My life is pretty great as is, so I'd like someone who adds to it. Family is also important to me, even though I don't want children. I'm looking for someone in the age range of 26-40, 4/20 friendly, that is ambitious, self sufficient, and please Gods be emotionally available 😂. (Also it would be a major plus if you were kink friendly)
Due to the current state of the USA and its treatment of women; I am not looking to move anywhere that is not a blue state at this time, and am planning on staying in Colorado for the long term. However, if I met someone and we talk and connect and they want to move to be with me, I am more than open to talk about that in the future.
Looks wise: I'm about 5'3 with blond hair with teal highlights. I lean more on the curvy side, but I'm trying to lose some of the Covid weight. I have quite a few tattoos and want plenty more. Happy to trade pics if we start chatting, I just don't want to post them publicly.
If any of this sparks your interest please feel free to send me a message. I look forward to hopefully hearing from you :3

  1. People act as if Noah, Cody, and Tyler got developed in reality 2 of them were just elimination fodders and Cody hardly did anything just getting carried by Sierra
  2. The plot armor, Like how unrealistic is it, Sierra blowing up a plane the second before Al is eliminated and same with Heather's fake elimination
  3. Ezekiel plot, they straight up murdered his character instead of getting any development now he's a mutant without being with his family and a horrible ending
  4. Team victory, they ruined a lot of fan favorites by getting derailed for elimination fodders for the al plot and dj overstayed his welcome and shouldn't of made it the farthest out of all
  5. Songs, I love some songs but a lot of them are terrible and annoying
  6. Love triangle, another useless plot that wasn't necessary and derailed 3 good characters

2024.05.15 07:27 holisticlife5500 Airfare Secrets for Scoring the Cheapest Flights

"Golden rules" about buying cheap flights, like booking domestic flights 57 days before the departure date, are no longer valid, as there has been a huge shift in the travel industry in what days were thought the cheapest to booking flights. If a study has not been conducted recently, or only one year ago, do not put too much faith in it; there's no reason to worry about booking a flight far in advance. The stellar tips below are current.
Check airlines which don't appear on 3rd party websitesOne of the major weaknesses of Internet search engines is that they frequently will not display the flights of all airlines such as Southwest, Frontier, and Allegiant. To solve this problem, use a free resource like Wikipedia to learn which of these airlines operates a certain airport. Visit Wikipedia, go to their airport page, and search for a section called "Airlines and destinations." You are advised to locate a list of each airline that flies to that airport as well as all the nonstop destinations that airport operates. So, once you become aware of any carriers which did not show up in your first searches, you could now look for flights straight on the airlines' sites.Search one-way & round-trip flightsOnce upon a time the majority of round-trip flights were cheaper than booking two one-way airfare flights. That's no longer the situation today. For instance, Southwest and Jetblue set their prices for their flights on a one-way basis; and a round-trip flight is only the sum of the 2 one-way rates. So, you'll want to check one-way flight rates to ensure you buy the best round-trip deal by pairing two one-way flight tickets, probably on two different carriers.Look for one seat at a timeThere exists a virtually unknown quirk in how carriers price seats which could result in greater prices if searching for many passengers as opposed to a single ticket. Airlines put their inventory in fare classes, or called buckets, which are not always obviously visible to customers. For instance, there may be just three seats left in a fare bucket for $300 each, and the next higher bucket may be $400 for each ticket. But, if you happen to look for four seats, each one would end up falling into the $400 fare bucket.Search alternate airportsAt times the cost of a certain flight is extremely high that it could be a good idea to use your second or even third choice of airports. For instance, you perhaps are aware of the New York area's 3 biggest airports: New York-JFK, Newark (EWR), and New York-LaGuardia. But did you know that Stewart (SWF), Westchester (HPN), and Long Island McArthur (ISP) are also in the region? Several airlines permit you to look for all airports in a region by just specifying the destination as the city itself rather than a certain airport. The ITA Matrix tool is also a great way to look for close by if you do not know the area too well, and Google Flights offers a "Nearby airports" option to assist in this search, too.Don't always travel directBeing flexible with your route you'll be flying is another way to find a cheap flight. For instance, at times it's cheaper to travel to London and use a budget airline to Amsterdam instead of flying directly to Amsterdam from the actual departure city.To utilize this approach, learn how much it costs to fly directly to the target destination. Next, open Google Flights, type in the destination's details like country name to see the rates to nearby airports. If the difference happens to exceed $150 dollars, find out how much it actually is to fly from the 2nd airport to the main destination.Leverage elite statusAlthough having elite status will not allow you to book flights at a discount, you still could use it to save money another way. But with elite status with the majority of airlines let you to standby for earlier flights or perform same-day verified flight modifications. This can permit you to buy a discounted airline flight at an awful time, only to modify it to the flight you really want but at no extra charge. Even without elite status, the charge to standby or make a same-day verified flight modification might be less than the airfare difference between the flight you truly want and the lowest option that day.Use the correct credit cardThe right credit card may very well provide you major savings on flight tickets in a number of various ways. For instance, The Platinum Card from American Express now offers 5x points on all airline bookings made directly with the carrier or with Amex travel, worth 10 cents each dollar spent, based on TPG's recent valuations. That card in addition offers the International Airfare Program, providing cardholders discounts for premium class flights on certain airlines.Search for free hotels and stopover toursWhenever an airline imposes a lengthy layover because of its very tight schedule, the airline will usually offer a free STPC, or stopover paid by carrier, which can include a free tour or hotel room as well.
Don't mind the mythsThe initial and main fact to know whenever locating a cheap flight is there exists no magic trick for achieving this objective. There are however a ton of myths floating online about certain ways to seek cheap flights. Without doubt, you must have run into a lot of them while searching for the best flight deals.Airline companies use advanced technology like computers and pricing algorithms for determining flight prices and offer deals based on various factors like time of the year, weather, time of day, passenger demand, fuel prices, competitor prices, and others. These myths and similar ones will lead you astray. Be flexible in respect to your travel times & datesAirline flight rates vary a lot depending on upcoming holidays, day of the week, and time of the year. August is a major month for flying to Europe, and plenty of people are planning to travel somewhere hot during winter or fly while the kids are taking a break from school. In summation, if you're traveling when everyone is also flying, then logically your flight price will be higher.Flexibility is everything for cheap plane tickets & cheap flight dealsThe more flexible you are, you'll get better cheap flight deals you can book. Here's a new way of doing things: Instead of deciding where to go next, choosing dates, and then searching for the cheap plane tickets to certain destinations on those particular dates, consider first selecting your destination and dates based on the best going deals available. By exercising greater flexibility where you travel and the specific dates you fly, you will have a far better opportunity to find cheaper airfare.Book first, think later for cheap flight finder cancellationTake complete advantage of the free 24-hour cancellation window while purchasing flights. Because of the Department of Transportation's strict regulations, any cheap flight booked to or from the United States could be canceled without worry of incurring a penalty, for 24 hours after the flight's reservation; it must be booked no less than one week before the flight's departure. Yes, it's a very good idea to use a cheap flight finder these days. What this means is that if you buy a flight and the ticket price drops within 24 hour window, you could cancel the original flight and purchase the new, less expensive one.Warning: the 24-hour rule can only work for flights directly bought with the airline or with booking engines such as Priceline.Set a price alert for all cheap flight ticketsYou can choose emails or push notices to your cell phone which will tell you exactly when the flight you are interested in has increased or decreased in price. This may be a great way for getting the best possible price on all cheap flight tickets in the near future. You can do this on the majority of search travel sites and OTAs. Why miss out on potential easy savings? You can then always locate flight tickets cheap when you need them.Buy in foreign currency to get cheap flight ticketBecause regular fliers travel abroad now and then, you could switch the currency on the airline's website to determine if the price would be listed in other monies. You can save big this way. For example, if an airline increased the flight price in US dollars but not in Indian rupee, you could book flights at half the price! But this may require altering either the location or language on the airline's website; or you may change to the home country's URL, where ticket prices are generally cheapest by searching in its local currency. This is how you can in fact find cheap flight ticket to wherever you like to travel.Sign up for an airline's travel rewards credit card for cheap flight bookingOne of the smartest ways to take full advantage from travel credit cards is to use the hefty sign-up bonuses. For example, if you sign up for a new travel card when the airline is offering unusually high quantity of bonus miles, you could score yourself literally thousands of dollars worth of reward points by just opening the card.Although several of these travel cards could have higher annual fees, a big sign-up bonus may amount for months or even years worth of cheap flight booking for you and your whole family. The cheapest day to book flightsEven though you might see great deals flashing on your computer screen for international airfare three to six months out, if you are flying during peak times, or perhaps your plans are not very flexible, it's smart to begin searching sooner. The cheapest day to book flights actually evades many flyers. This does not automatically mean you ought to purchase tickets when hitting the 6-month window; hold on till you book cheap flights online. And, just ignore the old advice that travel experts often repeat regarding booking the cheapest flights at 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday; that used to be true but now airfare prices are updated often and great deals could pop up any given moment when least expected. So, now you can secure a flight cheap most of the time.Utilize momondo to book cheap flight air ticketsUpon finding what you imagine to be the cheapest flight wherever, try searching on Momondo; it will search dozens of OTAs; bear in mind that it may not display the cheapest fares seen on large OTAs and Google Flights. But you got a greater chance to find cheap air tickets sooner this way. Otherwise, only one cheap air ticket may be attained, if tried another manner. Now you too can enjoy when you book cheap flight tickets when you need them.Fly cheap during the low seasonHave you ever scanned flight prices from the USA to Europe's insanely popular cities in August? Surpassing quite easily $1000.00, they can frighten seasoned and expert travelers alike. But are those the same ticket prices in February? So, fly cheap from major hubs in USA to Europe, you could often locate roundtrip flights throughout the winter months for less than $400 or even $300!Fly basic economy for cheap air flightsA basic economy flight ticket could save you money, if you do not require checked luggage or advance seat selection. Pay only for what you need. In theory, you'll achieve cheap air flights via this option.Enroll in the airline's loyalty program for cheap airfareIf you fly one particular airline often, join its loyalty program in order to earn points each time you go anywhere. Then, you can redeem such points for upgrades or cheap airfare in the future. If you accumulate enough miles and achieve a considerable status with the airline, you might receive free upgrades. Now, you can take fuller advantage of cheap air fare whenever you require it.Skiplag to discover hidden-city cheap airfares & last minute flightsHidden-city ticketing happens by booking a flight to a place beyond your final destination, and then end your flight on the layover city. This could help you in getting cheap airfares as well as best last minute flights to most destinations. Think about it: can you imagine a better, more creative way to book cheap air fares while searching the Internet?Prolong your layovers for cheapest flight ticketsSometimes only by extending a layover a few days in another city in-between, you can score cheapest flight tickets to your original destination. In conclusion, more often than not, you'll usually find the cheapest flight ticket by following this method consistently. Why not? A lot of people are discovering that they are by accident getting the cheapest flight via the extended layovers.Don't overlook sales for cheapest flight bookingAirlines are frequently offering amazing deals which you may jump on fast enough and save yourself hundreds of dollars on your next flight. Sign up for your favorite airline's newsletter to be on top of their latest flight deals. This is yet another way to know about the cheapest flight booking that becomes available whenever.Focus on going across the ocean for cheap fly ticketsIf you are thinking to visit a distant location, it could be less expensive to book one ticket to the main hub, and then a second ticket from there to your final destination. For example, if you wish to fly to Alhambra, Spain, it's probably cheaper to book one roundtrip flight from your home to Madrid and a second roundtrip ticket from Madrid to Alhambra than it would be to buy a ticket to Alhambra on one itinerary. In essence, you'll end up with cheap fly tickets by following the above example.Don't overlook destinations with low cost carriers to get cheapest flightsCarriers such as Frontier, AirTran, and Southwest all drive down airfares along their routes. So, it may be quite wise to travel a bit longer to a larger airport with low-cost carriers, because even major carriers flights will most likely be cheaper. Using this method regularly, you are more likely to find the cheapest flights to most if not all your destinations. Why not take advantage of low cost flights whenever possible?Avoid Friday, Sunday flights, & traditional air travel daysThis may mean going away before and returning later than usual, or even flying exactly on the holiday. Pelletier, the air travel specialist, says you can save up to 50% by simply flying Christmas Eve or Day. She said: "We saved $300 per ticket around Thanksgiving for our family of four by flying out the Saturday before Thanksgiving and coming back the Saturday after. Not everyone can swing that with their work schedules, so my advice is to leave Thanksgiving day and return on Saturday for cheaper fares."Begin with a reputable flight search engine to find cheapest international flightsWhile searching for a flight, the initial thing you will wish to do is determine which airlines run a certain route and get an estimated price on the biggest carriers. Opposed to individually visiting all of these airlines' sites, begin by looking for a website which will provide results from many airlines and different combinations of carriers. You may end up with the cheapest international flights this way. So, you could start with Expedia or another such as Orbitz, Hotwire, Travelocity, and Cheap Tickets. Do not ignore Google Flights, which, though a very powerful search engine, know that it's not a booking platform and can't buy a flight ticket there. This is how you could find cheapest flights to many popular locations.Be flexible where you go to book discount flightsIf for some reason or another you cannot be flexible with the time factor of your flight, then try to be flexible with your destinations. It's ideal to be both. However, you still can save a lot of money and book discount flights by being flexible with either factor. You don't have to conduct manual searches, going city by city and day by day. Websites such as Google Flights, Skyscanner, and Momondo provide explore tools and permit you to add your nearest airport and see a world map with all the possible flights on it. This helps you to quickly compare many destinations with no need to brainstorm each potential option.Fly budget airlines/carriersMany years ago, you were generally stuck flying with traditional costly airlines. That's not true anymore. Budget airlines today service both short and medium-haul routes all over the world. For example, AirAsia provides incredible cheap flight deals around Australia and Asia for less than $150 dollars! Indian and Middle Eastern air carriers sell cheap flight tickets throughout Africa and the subcontinent.Book early: how to find the cheapest flightsYou can discover how to find the cheapest flights by booking early. Although flight rates continue climbing the nearer you get to departure, there exists a great spot along the way when airline companies start to reduce or increase flight prices based on demand. Do not wait till the last moment but do not book too far in advance. The ideal time to buy your flight ticket is about 2 to 3 months prior to your departure, or even about 5 months prior if you're flying there in their peak season.

2024.05.15 06:01 Lunar_Lemons Day 6 - GDQuest Done

I woke up with food poisoning so I called off work and spent the day learning. I finished all of GDQuest, which took a long time but was very interesting. It doesn’t teach everything unfortunately but it teaches a lot of the basics.
I started working on my first project in my udemy course which is actually building a flappy bird game called tappy. It’s just flappy bird with a plane instead.
I built the main scene and the plane(character) scene. I also setup a standard mountain background, but i’ll be setting up a parallax background later.
I wish I had more free time for days like this. I love learning this stuff.

Original Post Feb 4, 2024
Firstly, I’m okay, physically anyway.
Honestly, I have no idea who this is for, but I think I just need it out of my head.
The circumstances of my birth were complicated. I broke up two marriages, and my family has never been shy about how they feel about me for that. Only one of my brothers has gotten drunk enough to tell me to my face that he resents me for existing, but I know it exists within all of them, at least in some way. Im much younger than all my siblings, and there was so much that happened out of our hands that I made excuses, but my whole life, I’ve never quite felt “part of the family”.
As a child, I told myself we’d make up for lost time once I got older and we could talk as equals. Now, at 23, I see glimpses of the life I wished I’d have, but in the end, I’m always too much trouble to involve. I hear EVERYTHING from my father. I had to find out my niece was in a car accident from him; I had to find out my other niece had a miscarriage from him; I had to find out my oldest brother had a BRAIN TUMOR haphazardly on a phone call with my father, which he didn’t even know I was unaware of.
I’ve known for a while I’m the only one trying, but for the sake of my dreams, I’ve given every opportunity for them to let me in, but I just can’t do it anymore.
I have a psychiatric service dog who aids me with CPTSD. He is the single greatest thing to happen to me. Not only did he save my life from myself, but he has made life livable. He can tell when I’m panicking and he knows pressure therapy to help me through an attack. He stops me from hurting myself in meltdowns, sits with me until the only noise I can hear anymore is his snoring on my lap. He allows me to go grocery shopping by myself. He is my soulmate, and anyone who knows me knows how important he is to me.
My dating life isn’t thriving, so I took a shot in the dark and asked my niece if she minded if I brought my service dog as my plus one for her wedding at the end of this month. I have to fly across the country to go, so I will be bringing him anyway since I cannot fly alone. I figured it couldn’t hurt to see if he could not have to stay in the hotel all night. I do not technically need him for the event, since I’ll know every guest and I will be drinking pretty heavily to cope, but getting to spoil him with a bow-tie, dancing, and STEAK, sounded like the perfect reward for helping me on my flight. Several times, I emphasized that I understood it was an odd request and she could say no if she wanted.
She was EMPHATIC that he could come! She said even if I found a date, he could come! I was elated! For once, I felt seen, I felt cared about, I felt valued. And then I got a call from my dad. No one wanted to make things awkward, but the mother of the bride was NOT okay with a dog being at the venue. I explained that he is a trained service animal and will not impede the ceremony in anyway, and I’d of course remove him if he did. Still, he said they didn’t like it. I was so tired of hearing everyone else’s words through my father. He won’t be around forever and sooner or later, they will have to start talking to me
I had one request: let the bride tell me. When I asked her, she said yes, and until she told me she changed her mind, I was under the assumption he could go. Well, I never heard back. My dad kept dropping hints when i’d call him, but I told him what my expectations were. When I RSVP’d, I put my dog as my plus one on the response to let them know I wasn’t backing down this time. At this point, I didn’t even care if she said he couldn’t go. I just wanted to hear it from her.
The next morning, I woke up to an EMAIL from my father. Not even a text, a fucking email explaining that my niece didn’t want to be the bad guy, but my dog was NOT welcome at the wedding. He said he was sorry, but he could still come with me to the hotel if I wanted.
Something inside me broke, I think. I think I realized this is truly a helpless case. They are never going to respect me the way I crave them to. To this day, not one of our conversations has been started by them. I always initiate, and now, the one time I request a direct contact, I get an email.
Family means everything to me. Over the last few years, i’ve redefined what a family can be, and if right now, my family needs to be a very damaged orphan and their service animal, I’m grateful I have that much.
So, I’m going to the wedding, and then I’m never going to talk to any of them again.
And the sad part is, I didn’t even think they’re going to notice.
Update:
First, thank you to everyone for the kind words, and all the advice. It sincerely means so much that so many people care. I want to address all the questions about why I want to go to this wedding at all. There are plenty of practical reasons that I can name, but the truth is, I need to go for my own closure.
I have a strange relationship with death, and loss. My mother died when I was 5; my family split up right after. I’ve lost several caregivers to serious diseases, grieving their death as they lived. I’ve learned how to navigate MY grieving process. If I don’t go to this wedding, I will regret it. Not only is it my last chance to see my childhood family all together in one place, but if I don’t go, I show them they can bully me. I do not want to make a spectical of my trauma with them, but that does not mean I have to walk away with my tail between my knees.
I’m not scared of them. My relationship is non-existent, but I did see my siblings/cousins/neiecesandnephews fairly regularly. When I was a kid, they intimidated and bullied me into silence, but I’m not a child anymore. I lived with these people; I can manage one night, if for no other reason than to prove they cannot control me.
Thanks again for all the kind words. Happy to provide a pupdate if someone can tell me how to post pictures from the app?

When told not to go to the wedding
I spent $700 on a plane ticket and $200 on a suit. Least I can do is go drink someone else’s liquor and dance my worries away. Besides. It feels like goodbye
&
The cherry on top is they are all very conservative Christians, and I will be going in a suit with my hair dyed green and makeup done to the nines, so this will be my biggest “fuck you, I’m here anyway” I can pull off. Truthfully, my father’s memory is starting to go as he gets older, so even if I did explain my feelings, he will end up sharing anyway, so I’ve made my peace with the fact that it will be a one-way-street because lord knows they’re not gonna ask what I’m up to.
When told to call the bride directly
The last 20 years of trauma will not be solved with one phone call. This was their last chance to prove to me they want me in their lives. It’s not about the dog. It’s the fact that all I asked is to be treated like a person and talked to directly, and they have proven to me they don’t care, so I’m leaving. I already did my job of reaching out to her and she said yes. Why is it my job to reach out and make sure she hasn’t changed her mind?
When told her father is an asshole and he is the one responsible for everything
THANK YOU! I have felt like the only one who cannot fathom how that conversation could be had over EMAIL?? It’s sadly not uncommon for them to communicate through him, and I always have the receipts after the fact when they’re no longer worried about the awkwardness. My brothers don’t even know where I work. I am building a career around my job. They couldn’t tell you what my relationship status is, and I’d be hard pressed to tell you if they knew my middle name to be honest. My father is not innocent, but they are responsible for their part in our relationship. I have stopped reaching out to them directly because I barely hear back, and it’s clear they don’t really care what I’m saying. I could honestly write a book on the road that’s led me to this choice, but who’s got the time in this economy?

POST-WEDDING UPDATE!
So, I went to the wedding. It went about how I expected it to go, though one can never be ready for a spontanious conga line. Sadly, there was no secret last minute invite, nor any secret plot of which the bride was unaware. She felt bad saying no, so she lied, and she didn’t want to tell me that, and she still didn’t, even at the wedding. No one really said much at all, in fact. The mother of the bride did not speak to me at all, my brother tiptoed around the subject until the end of the night. To his credit, he did apologize, “for all the dog stuff” as he said goodbye. Strangely, the apology didn’t make me feel much better.
There was no big confrontation either, mainly because no one cared to listen to me if I tried. As the reception began, part of me wondered how much I was going to miss the people, the environment, the vibe, really. Truthfully, I surprised myself with how ready I was to leave. Goodbye was short, and bittwersweet.
The venue was pretty and the alcohol was free, so I made the best of my night, but I got what I needed out of it, I think. Getting home tonight felt like a weight lifting off my shoulders. I know more than ever that I need to do this, and what I once saw as cutting my family in half, I can now see is clearing space for new family, one that cares.
Thank you for all your kind words, and all the support for my dog!

You don’t love me.
You love an idea of me you fabricated in your mind when I was a child.
I’m no longer a child.
I’m far from perfect, but I’m growing, I’m glowing, and I’m grieving the reality that none of you will ever know the person I become.
You call it love, but my scars disagree.

2024.05.15 05:43 Bblebubbles Looking for one for ongoing campaign 5e, online, Monday 7PM EST

Howdy Once again reddit I'm looking for someone to fill an empty spot in my Monday group for DND 5E
For some context: One of our group members has gone MIA for over a month now, he was the heart of our party and it was very much unlike him to just ghost us out of the blue like this. Our worries aside the game has gone on due to factors I'll be listing below. Normally we would wait a bit longer for him, but during this weeks session a PC died so I figured it was a good time to get a new player to introduce along side the other player whos making a new character.
Things you should Know:
That is all. If you wish to Apply, add me on Discord and shoot me a DM. My name on there is "Ceekon". I hope to see you there and hope you have a good time :)
