2024.05.19 13:49 L0serstup I am at a loss..

I (34F)would like to start this off by saying - my mom(65F) is my heart, my rock and most of all my very best friend. The last 4yrs have been rough to say the least. I am an only child & my father passed away suddenly when I was 3. So, it’s been and her against the world the last 31yrs. I had the best childhood even though she was a struggling single mother. I never went without, she gave me the world. Fast forward to now, she is technically disabled, diagnosed by a doctor. She has horrible arthritis in her back which makes it hard to sit, stand or walk for long periods. She is still able to do things for herself but I am here to do the rest. When the world shut down in 2020, so did she. She spent her days frantically watching every single newscast about Covid. She stopped going outside all together. She now spends her days in front of her computer day and night. I physically can’t get her to go outside…. Not even to check the mail. She’ll say “oh, my back hurts I can’t do the stairs” so of course I believe her. Anywho, things between us have gotten pretty bad. We’ve never been like this. She’s my bestie and partner in crime. I have taken on the role of being “mom” in the house. I cook, clean, grocery shop, pay bills, all while working a full time STRESSFUL job and battling my chronic illness. Even when I’m sick due to my illness I still have to cater to her. She doesn’t do anything. Her attitude towards me is awful. Nothing I do is good enough. For example, I went grocery shopping yesterday and I forgot to buy the peanut butter and jelly mixture that’s in one jar. She absolutely lost her mind on me. She yelled and pulled an absolute fit. Mind you, we have PB & jelly… just in separate containers…and I just went food shopping. I literally bend over backwards for this woman to make sure she has every single thing she needs even if it means I have to go without. But the way she just tore me apart all because I forgot something that we technically have but just not in the form she wants. She eventually apologized but I told her “I acknowledge your apology but I do not by any means accept it.” This isn’t the first time. She has started therapy because I told her I am ready to leave this house and NEVER look back. Tomorrow will make her 4th session. Nothing has changed. Therapist gave her tools to help but she hasn’t used them. I mentally cannot handle living like this anymore. I love her so much but I cannot allow her to keep treating me like this. I work in veterinary medicine during emergency hours, I do not get to see cute puppies and kittens. Nothing is happy. It gets dark. So, having to deal with my mother constantly berating me over the dumbest things doesn’t help. I need therapy after the last 4yrs of abuse. I cry all the time. I just don’t know what to do anymore when it comes to her and the awful things she does. Any advice?

2024.05.19 13:47 Synroc Don't let their version of culture be an excuse for their behavior

A lot of us here are 1st/2nd gen immigrants, and our entire conception of culture "back home" is from our parents. This gives them the power to shape our behavior, and abuse things like filial piety. Their behavior and morals are stuck from the time period they immigrated, and a lot of times, "back home" has progressed socially more than they have, despite moving to the west.
This is particularly bad if one or more of your parents is a narcissist, and they will abuse your filial piety induced guilt to essentially treat you like their property.
It took my wife spending a week with my mum to realize that she's just incredibly narcissistic. This is not the case where I married someone from a different race either, but just that she grew up east asian in a normal household where her parents were able to listen to her. On the opposite end, my mum has never apologized ever, and my dad is basically broken and her puppet at this point.
Since that week with my wife, things blew up and I'm essentially very low contact with my parents, and it's very very difficult due to how i was programmed and the guilt and shame i feel and their constant abuses through texts, but I feel like at least I have agency in my life, maybe for the first time.
I guess what i'm trying to say is, I think a lot of us attribute our parents' behaviors solely to culture, and asian culture is indeed to an extent societally narcissistic, I suspect a lot of us actually have narcissistic parents and don't know that it's the root of the issues.

As a small business owner, I can attest that the Royal 500DX Cash Register has been an absolute game-changer for me. The dual LCD displays provide clear visibility for both the clerk and the customer, making transactions seamless and efficient.
One of the standout features is its capacity to handle up to 2,000 employees, which is more than adequate for a small to medium-sized business. Additionally, the unlimited messaging capability ensures that you won't miss any important announcements or updates. However, the product does feel a bit flimsy due to its predominantly plastic design, which might concern those who prefer a sturdier build.
Another fantastic aspect of this cash register is the 999 Price Look-Ups, allowing for quick processing of transactions. Programming four different tax rates also makes the setup process incredibly straightforward. On the downside, the impact printer, although functional, occasionally feels outdated compared to more advanced models.
Overall, the Royal 500DX Cash Register has proven to be a reliable and user-friendly addition to my small business. Its features cater to my daily needs and have undoubtedly contributed to the efficiency and success of my operations.

🔗Sharp XE-A102 Compact Electronic Cash Register with LED Display

I have been using the Sharp XE-A102 Electronic Cash Register for a start-up retail business, and it's been a reliable and efficient partner. The compact design allows it to fit easily in our small store, and the bright LED display makes it easy for us and our customers to see the transaction details. The 8 departments feature helps us organize our inventory, and the 80 PLU/Items capacity allows us to input all our products without issues.
One of the standout features of this cash register is its ability to accept different payment methods like cash, cheque, and credit card, which has made it easy for us to cater to our customers' preferred payment options. Additionally, the time and date display feature ensures that our transactions are accurate and timely.
However, there are a few minor drawbacks to the Sharp XE-A102. It can be a little noisy and slow compared to some other cash registers, which may be an issue during peak hours when we need to serve customers quickly. Moreover, the instructions provided are quite small, making them difficult to read and follow.
Overall, the Sharp XE-A102 Electronic Cash Register has been an excellent addition to our start-up retail business. Its compact design, 58 mm wide reliable printing, and ability to accept multiple payment methods make it a valuable tool for any small retailer. While it may have a few minor issues, the majority of users, including myself, are satisfied with its performance and recommend it to others.

🔗Professional XE Series Electronic Cash Register

https://preview.redd.it/63z5wl2red1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=838a61378141c4d4aaebc4a889e25d11c1c90157
I recently added the Sharp XE Series Electronic Cash Register to my tiny boutique store, and I couldn't be happier. Before settling on this model, I spent a lot of time researching various cash registers, but the XE Series stood out for its advanced sales reporting capabilities and seamless tie-in with QuickBooks Pro. The moment I unboxed it, I was impressed by its sleek, professional appearance and built-in SC card slot for easy connectivity and data back-up.
Setting up the register was incredibly easy, and within just a few hours, it was ready to go. Its intuitive interface made training my employees a breeze. The thermal printer was a pleasant surprise; it's much quieter and faster than traditional receipt printers. Plus, the customizable receipts with graphics and logos definitely give my store a professional edge.
One of my favorite features is the automatic tax system, which not only saves time but also reduces the potential for errors and makes reporting so much easier. The locking drawer ensures security and comes with multiple bill and coin compartments, making deposits a lot more organized.
The only downside is the rather complicated user manual, which could definitely be improved. It's not a complete deal breaker, though, as there are plenty of helpful YouTube tutorials available online.
All in all, I'm thrilled with my purchase of the Sharp XE Series Electronic Cash Register. It's a perfect fit for my small business and a real game-changer when it comes to streamlining sales transactions and accounting. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cash register to anyone running a small retail or service business.

🔗Casio Single-Tape Thermal Cash Register for Business

https://preview.redd.it/fj9sgulred1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=54574ad3b2350fad83a5af4e9ced9b7a3044e6a6
Casio's PCR-T280 is a fantastic single-tape thermal cash register that offers more functionality for medium-sized businesses than entry-level models. With the ability to track up to 1,200 price lookups, it offers a level of specificity in item sales tracking not commonly found in its class. It also allows businesses to track sales up to eight different operators, making it an excellent tool for business tracking and growth.
One of the standout features of this product is its hygienic, antibacterial keyboard. In our current world, where cleanliness is paramount, this characteristic provides a measure of peace of mind for both business owners and customers alike. Furthermore, its multipurpose tray can hold money in four bill compartments and five coin compartments, ensuring the efficient flow of transactions.
The PCR-T280 also boasts a high-speed thermal printer, which can be used either for customer receipts or as a journal printer for recording all the store's activities. Its mode lock with key control feature provides multiple operation positions through physical keys, providing a level of security usually found in more expensive models.
Although it is not touch-screen, its simple and intuitive design makes it easy to program and use. Some users did find the manual a bit difficult to follow, but with a bit of practice, most find it quite manageable. With its ability to handle multiple sales tax needs and its capacity for PLU capabilities, the Casio PCR-T280 has proven itself as a reliable tool for various businesses, small or medium-sized.
However, one minor drawback is the depth of the money/change drawer, which could have been a little deeper for added convenience. Despite this minor issue, the vast majority of users recommend this register for its performance and price point, providing an excellent value for businesses looking for an affordable, reliable cash register solution.

🔗Heavy-Duty Cash Register with Alpha Keyboard and LCD Display

https://preview.redd.it/rgcm3zured1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e90611839a08205344996bd346c4f76bb8e15960
As an avid user of cash registers in my grocery store, I recently discovered the Royal Alpha 1100ml Cash Register, and my experience has been quite satisfactory. This heavy-duty register is perfect for my high-traffic establishment, offering a reliable and swift cash management system that I can always depend on.
The first thing that caught my eye about this cash register was its single fast and quiet alphanumeric thermal printer, capable of handling over 1 million lines. It's been able to keep up with the constant rush of customers, making it a reliable addition to my store.
The large 10-line LCD user display and alpha keyboard ensure easy programming, which was a breeze, even for a beginner like me. The SD Card slot is another excellent feature, enabling efficient accounting data transfers to a PC, a necessity for any modern business.
However, I will say that the software included with the register can be a bit flaky at times. While it is supposed to read the x and z reports that the machine puts on the sd card, I sometimes find myself having to use the sd card to transfer report data manually. Additionally, getting in touch with their tech support doesn't seem to be very helpful, as they often provide no real technical assistance.
Despite these minor issues, the Royal Alpha 1100ml Cash Register has been a solid addition to my store. Its heavy-duty locking cash drawer with four slot bill and removable five slot coin tray, along with its automatic tax computation, has made managing funds and keeping track of sales much easier for me. If you're in need of a reliable cash register for your business, I'd highly recommend giving this one a try.

🔗Fast and Accurate Cash Register System with Thermal Printing and 8-Line Display

https://preview.redd.it/qu5h8dbsed1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cbccc254fa34615f87dd2812357e0f2a57027db4
I recently discovered the Sharp XEA407 Cash Register while searching for a reliable and feature-rich solution for my little grocery store. After trying it out, I must say it's exceeded my expectations.
The first thing that impresses anyone who lays their eyes on it is the sleek eight-line display. It's not just a pretty face though; it's got brains as well with 7000 Price Lookups (PLU's), allowing quick and accurate entry. The inclusion of 99 departments is brilliant as it makes managing diverse product types a breeze.
My favorite feature? Hands down, the microban keytops. They provide built-in antimicrobial protection, keeping those pesky germs at bay, which is particularly important given the current health situation. And let's not forget about the large 32GB SD card slot for computer connectivity and data storage.
However, there were a few hiccups too. The lack of French documentation was a letdown for me, a French-speaking Canadian. Plus, a few customers have reported missing parts upon delivery, making the product unusable.
So, while there are some minor issues, the Sharp XEA407 Cash Register has overall been a reliable and efficient addition to my store. It's fast, easy to set up, and offers more than enough features for most small businesses. If you're looking for a cash register that combines modern tech with dependability, this might just be the one for you.

🔗Royal 100Cx Portable Battery/AC Powered Cash Register

https://preview.redd.it/mpye61nsed1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=53410d259f67c2fbda2560e107147dca104e0317
As a small business owner, I've been on the hunt for a reliable, portable cash register to make sales easier at my farmer's market stand. The Royal 100Cx, with its compact design and battery-powered operation, has been a reliable companion for me. The automatic tax computation feature is a game-changer, allowing me to easily manage sales and taxes on-the-go. However, the initial setup can be a bit daunting, and the manual doesn't do a fantastic job of explaining everything.
The preset department pricing and sales analysis by category of merchandise are standout features that have helped me keep track of inventory and sales trends. It's crucial for businesses like mine, where inventory and sales fluctuate frequently. The ink roll printer provides a receipt printout, providing a professional touch to every transaction.
In terms of drawbacks, one thing to note is that the tax computation is limited to only four rates – VAT, Canadian, and a couple of others – which may not cater to everyone's business needs. However, for my small farm market business, it's more than sufficient.
Overall, the Royal 100Cx is a dependable piece of hardware, and it's been a significant asset in streamlining my sales process. It may have a slightly steep learning curve, but once mastered, it's a powerful tool for any small business seeking a portable, autonomous cash register solution.

🔗Royal 435dx Cash Register with 16 Department Capability and 8 Clerks

https://preview.redd.it/txxdg61ted1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=164bcd3d5dc97bc9b7528ca1c00673134ce19862
As a small business owner, I can attest to the convenience of the Royal 435dX Electronic Cash Register in my daily operations. Its 16 departments and 800 PLU's ensure an efficient flow of transactions, while the 8 clerk capacity and 4 tax rates enable seamless management, even for those serving in various locations or catering to international clientele.
One of the highlights of this cash register is the front and rear LCD displays, allowing both the clerk and customer to see each transaction clearly. The memory protection with backup batteries provides added security to safeguard data in case of a power outage, a particularly valuable feature for businesses operating in areas with unpredictable power supply.
However, a minor con would be the single station 57mm impact printer, which could limit the pace of transactions during peak rush hours. Also, the locking cash drawer tends to be a bit cumbersome, requiring more time than necessary to retrieve and return change.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the Royal 435dX Electronic Cash Register has significantly improved my business operations, allowing me to keep track of transactions efficiently, even during peak hours. I would recommend this cash register to other small business owners looking for a reliable and feature-rich option that delivers exceptional performance at an affordable price point.

🔗Casio SE-S700 Cash Register: High-Speed Single-Station Thermal Printer

https://preview.redd.it/v48cimbted1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9147acc58257ad1b649fd63e1da8c960a9a87046
I recently upgraded my old, heavy cash register to the Casio SE-S700, and I must say, it has made running daily transactions a breeze. The built-in rear customer display ensures that prices are accurate, while the 8 department keys and 999 PLUs make it a cinch to organize my inventory.
One of my favorite features is the customizable receipt header, allowing me to print unique messages on each customer receipt. The large, easy-to-read LCD display ensures that no mistakes are made during sales transactions.
However, there are a few cons to consider. The plastic construction doesn't instill much confidence in its durability, and I wish the cash register drawer featured a more secure locking mechanism.
Overall, the Casio SE-S700 has proven to be a reliable and efficient cash register for my small business, saving me time and preventing any hassles when it comes to handling transactions.

🔗Clover Station POS System with Cash Register

https://preview.redd.it/01ab3vrted1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0dc914dd36488d910cdfc6d729888d81d4bd956f
I recently picked up the Clover Station POS System for my little cafe, and it's been quite the rollercoaster ride. Imagine a sleek, brushed aluminum body with a 11.6" touchscreen display that's as responsive as a well-trained puppy. Sounds appealing, right? Well, it is. But let's dive a little deeper.
First off, the touchscreen is large and bright, perfect for both me and my customers to navigate. The high-resolution camera embedded within the system makes scanning barcodes or QR codes a breeze, which is super helpful for keeping track of inventory. Plus, the swivel arm swivels smoothly between my side and the customer's, making transactions feel seamless and personal.
However, there have been some hiccups. For one, the single power source for the display and printer can create a tangled mess of cords, especially when you're trying to juggle other peripherals. And while the connectivity options (Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth) are great, I sometimes find myself struggling with Wi-Fi lags.
Moreover, the customer service has proven to be quite the challenge. You see, I bought the Clover Station from a seller who didn't provide much support. When things went awry, I was left to figure it out on my own. Needless to say, getting in touch with their customer service has been a nightmare. It feels like they're speaking a different language sometimes, and getting a call back is as rare as a winning lottery ticket.
Despite these cons, I still find the Clover Station POS System useful for my small cafe. It's a stylish, reliable system that offers a range of features and connectivity options. However, be prepared for the occasional frustration and confusion, especially when it comes to their customer service.
In conclusion, the Clover Station POS System is a mixed bag. While it boasts a sleek design, large touchscreen, and versatile connectivity options, it also has its fair share of challenges, such as the messy cords and difficult customer service. I'd recommend this product for businesses looking for a stylish and reliable POS system, but be prepared to face a few hurdles along the way.

🔗Casio PCR-T2300 Electronic Cash Register

https://preview.redd.it/1uu2h8zted1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4abee1a70906134d15e54eff47fffca50d24061c
I recently got my hands on the Casio PCR-T2300 Electronic Cash Register and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer for my business. With its 10-line LCD display, it's incredibly easy for me to check the current transaction and eliminate errors. The raised keyboard with 30 department key locations makes inputting data a breeze. Plus, with the built-in pop-up customer display, I can ensure my customers always know exactly what they're paying for.
One of my favorite features of this cash register is the ability to customize receipts with a graphic logo or programmable top and bottom messages, adding a personal touch to each transaction. The heavy-duty metal cash drawer provides more than enough space for five bill compartments and five coin compartments, making it perfect for a busy retail environment.
However, there are a few drawbacks that I've noticed during my time using this product. The instructions provided for programming the cash register could be more clear, leaving some users (like myself) scratching their heads at certain points. Additionally, while the register performs well overall, I have found that there can be some issues with the tape feeding, which can be frustrating at times.
All in all, the Casio PCR-T2300 Electronic Cash Register has proven to be a reliable and efficient addition to my business operations. With its user-friendly design and robust feature set, it's definitely worth considering for any small retailer or grocer looking to streamline their cash-handling processes.

🔗Square Register Touchscreen Display, Gray

https://preview.redd.it/p75qt1dued1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d7961fd7f877439dcf756eb77fb73cfca5bb1bb2
I've been using Square Register - Touchscreen Display, Gray for quite a while now, and it's been a game-changer for managing my small grocery store. The system is incredibly intuitive, with a sleek touchscreen display that makes transactions a breeze. The customer display is perfect for keeping lines moving smoothly, and the compact design ensures my countertop stays clutter-free.
One standout feature of the Square Register is its seamless integration with other Square services, like inventory management and customer feedback. This has made it incredibly easy for me to keep track of my stock and stay in touch with my regular customers. Additionally, the hardware is built to last, which is always a plus when you're investing in new equipment.
However, there's one area where Square Register could improve – the lack of customization options. While the system works great out of the box, I sometimes wish I could tweak some settings to better suit my specific needs. Despite this minor flaw, the Square Register - Touchscreen Display, Gray has definitely helped streamline my operations and improve my customers' experience.

🔗Royal Alpha 583x Electric Cash Register for Small Business

https://preview.redd.it/ug2o5pxued1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4491905c43edb7ebe407895a6d30640aba8bf9b6
I recently purchased the Royal Alpha 583cx Cash Register for my small business, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. This little gem has made managing sales transactions a breeze. With 99 departments, 1000 PLUs, 26 clerks, and 4 tax rates, this cash register is fully equipped to handle the needs of any small business.
One of the features that I absolutely love is the alpha numeric single station thermal printer. It not only prints fast but also allows me to customize the receipts with my company's message, making it a great marketing tool. Another great feature is the serial port for PC connection, which lets me use an optional bar code scanner, making the checkout process even smoother.
However, one minor issue I experienced was with the paper feed. It tends to jam at times, but a quick fix usually solves the problem. Additionally, the display that shows the purchase amount could be more visible, especially in bright lighting conditions.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Royal Alpha 583cx Cash Register to anyone running a small business. Its user-friendly interface, customizable receipts, and reliable performance make it a valuable asset to have in any retail or service environment.

2024.05.19 13:42 HopeandCopetillwedie I think I'm in love with my classmate and I'm worried I could ruin my relationship with her

I recently entered college and I have know her for 4 months now I believe...I don't know exactly when it started but when I think of a love figure she just pops in my head, and whenever I think about her I just want to be able to let her know I appreciate her, in many ways as a person, as a competent college...
There's also the fact that we share a big hobbie on Gacha games and she the first person I can have a genuine talk about them with, definitely was a huge help in making our friendship happen.
We also have a weirdly touchy dinamic/relationship, I think she already noticed I don't act like that with other people, which is partially because most people don't like and partially because, you know.
But I've also had a lot of worries about if I am enough you know like... I believe she just deserves better than me, someone more considerate or competent.
I also have this thing that whenever I go through some sad episode of my life I just lose all my confidence in myself, and to clarify I don't feel like that at the moment, in fact I feel that I could do just about anything, but my worry is "will I be able to properly support her in those times, will I behave like the person I want to become or just be a emotionally impulsive child" and at the same time that I can't imagine myself doing anything like that on purpose I still worry.
This may also be related to my self confidence problems but in a previous relationship I kept having intrusive thoughts about cheating, I didn't actually do anything or even had a specific person/concrete idea in mind and it made me feel disgusting, this also may tie with the fact that at the time I was very much sad and worrying if could be a proper boyfriend for that person, specially considering X's mental health problems, also worthwhile to say I gave up on that relationship and I also don't think I have the right to take conclusions on why it ended, maybe it was because of her toxic way of dealing with her own problems, maybe how sad seeing her made me or even that I was just a coward, I'm still making my conclusions on that whole event...and as much as I am embarrassed to make this whole confession I believe it important
And what if those things ruin our current relationship, I don't know what I would do, probably cry my eyes out but then I'd basically be alone.
Anyway my love life experience is close to 0 so I wanted to ask for advice here, but that doesn't mean I don't have my own conclusions, since I worry about what might happen so much the first thing though was to wait and see if I still feel like this after some time, but other than that no real plans just trying to treat her better, I make too many mean jokes about her height, she doesn't like it but I find it enjoyable to watch her
Pleeeeese help me

2024.05.19 13:41 Logical-Salad-820 Would the Daemon/Nettles dynamic even work in the show?

This isn’t to say that Daemon wouldn’t groom her because he very clearly groomed Rhaenyra but Nettles isn’t someone that Daemon was just having sex with (if you view their relationship as sexual) she was someone he grew to care for so much so that he disobeyed Rhaenyras orders and told her to leave to save her life. Daemon had actually gotten Mysaria pregnant and seemed to want the child in the book but in the show he doesn’t and just uses her to piss Viserys off. He isn’t shown to care about people that he doesn’t view as family and even then he still treats them like shit.
Which is why it doesn’t make sense in a platonic sense either. Daemon is supposedly going to care and grow a bond with Nettles all while not even having one with his own daughters in the show?
If the show does go on for 4 seasons it’s likely that the God’s eye will happen in the finale of season 3 or early season 4 and Nettles still hasn’t been introduced yet (if she even will be) so I just can’t imagine show Daemon caring about someone he’s known for mere months when he doesn’t even have strong bonds with his own family especially one that means going against Rhaenyra.
This is why I think she may be cut because her getting inbetween Daemon and Rhaenyra doesn’t work in the show. The only way it’d work is if the show goes on for longer which gives Daemon and Nettles more time to get close to actually make it believable.

I recently started using the Royal 2000ml Cash Register in my bistro, and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer! . The transactions are now much smoother and quicker, and the single alphanumeric thermal printer for receipt printing works like a charm. . The ability to keep track of a whopping 200 departments and up to 7000 price look ups is a godsend, making inventory management a breeze. .
Plus, accommodating up to 40 clerk IDs? . Brilliant! .
However, the lack of a key upon delivery was a bummer, but Royal was quick to address the issue and sent one over. . All in all, I'm thoroughly impressed by the ease and efficiency this cash register has brought into my daily life. .

🔗Sharp XE-A102 Compact Electronic Cash Register with LED Display

https://preview.redd.it/u2xh8u25ed1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c1cb8958dfe1e20c7beb553372eca6d057d80092

🔗Casio Single-Tape Thermal Cash Register for Business

https://preview.redd.it/rq19eaj5ed1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=17dd9e6f0b06c4ce2624f998f7edb89efbe5d04d

🔗Royal 410dx Electronic Cash Register for Small Stores

https://preview.redd.it/i658vs66ed1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f933e8e96018b0410ca05806e7aa9d0ede192a47
I recently got my hands on a Royal 410dx Cash Register and I am absolutely thrilled with this little gadget. As a small business owner, keeping track of sales and transactions has never been easier. The programmable design allows me to set up tax rates, discounts, and prices on every product, helping me stay organized and efficient.
One of the features that amazed me was the automatic tax computation. It saves me a lot of time and reduces the margin for error during transactions. Another highlight was the 10-clerk tracking system, making it suitable even for businesses with multiple staff. Plus, the alphanumeric thermal printer is impressive with its quiet performance and excellent print quality.
However, there are a few hiccups. Some users have reported that there are no replacement parts available if anything breaks, which could be troublesome. Additionally, the lack of a slot to accommodate large bills, checks, or slips in the coin drawer made me a bit disappointed.
In conclusion, the Royal 410dx Cash Register is a great addition to any small store or business. Its simplicity, programmability, and exceptional features like tax computation and thermal printing make transactions smoother and more efficient. Despite a few cons, the benefits make it a worthy investment.

🔗Advanced Alpha Cash Register with Rear Customer Display

The Royal Alpha 1000ml Cash Register is an excellent addition to any retail store, especially those that require a reliable and user-friendly cash register. Having used this product for several months now, I can confidently say that it has not only met my expectations but also exceeded them in some aspects.
One of the most noticeable features of this cash register is its 5-line alpha, LCD display with a backlight that provides visibility even in low-light conditions, easing the process for both employees and customers. Additionally, the 200 departments and 5,000 PLUs (Price Look-Ups) along with an electronic journal make inventory management a breeze.
The thermal printer is also worth mentioning as it ensures quick, smudge-free receipts. Furthermore, the optional hand-held bar code scanner adds an extra layer of convenience for those who prefer digital tracking of their items.
However, there are a few drawbacks to consider. The sensitivity to electrical shocks can be problematic during storms, which we experienced firsthand with our unit. Additionally, some users reported issues with programming and customer support, although I personally haven't encountered these problems.
In conclusion, the Royal Alpha 1000ml Cash Register offers a promising combination of functionality, convenience, and ease of use, making it a worthy investment for retail store owners looking for a dependable cash register solution.

🔗Royal 520DX Cash Register for Restaurants

I've been using the Royal 520DX Cash Register in my small cafe, and it's been a game-changer. The rear LCD customer display and 9 digit operator display make transactions super easy, and the built-in thermal printer is a lifesaver for receipts. Plus, the locking drawer with compartments for bills and coins is excellent for keeping everything organized.
But, there are a few downsides. The paper rolls can be a bit wasteful, especially when customers don't want receipts, and it took some time to figure out how to program the register. It's also worth mentioning that my power supply is starting to fray, which is a concern for future use.
Overall, the Royal 520DX Cash Register is a solid choice for running a small business, with its user-friendly design and helpful features. However, the paper waste and potential power supply issues might be something to consider before making a purchase.

  • Ease of Use: Make sure the cash register is user-friendly, especially for employees who may not be tech-savvy. A quick learning curve will save you time and money on training.
  • Reliability: Cash registers need to be reliable in high-pressure, busy environments. Look for a system with a good reputation for durability and longevity.
  • Customer Support: Issues will occur at some point. Choose a cash register system with accessible customer support, preferably U. S. based and responsive.

General Advice

Before purchasing a cash register, consider these additional pieces of advice:
  • Set a Budget: Make sure you understand the costs involved, from initial hardware costs to any recurring subscription fees for software or services.
  • Try Before You Buy: Whenever possible, get hands-on with the cash register. This will give you a better understanding of how user-friendly the system is and whether it meets your specific needs.
  • Read Reviews: Take into account the experiences of other customers who have already used the product. Their feedback can provide valuable insights into the system's performance, reliability, and customer support.
  • Train Your Staff: Regardless of which cash register system you choose, make sure your staff are sufficiently trained in its operation. This will maximize its effectiveness and efficiency in your restaurant environment.

2024.05.19 13:39 realitzBenPlaiz Calculator + Secret Code

Me and my friends have been trying to reverse engineer this app on the Apple App Store called "Calculator +" (Yes, the space is intentional). The thing we've been trying to reverse engineer is the "code" system. You can put seemingly any number in between two addition symbols (+8974+) and it will treat it as a code. We're all very new to this sort of thing, we've already dug in the depths of Google and found nothing. Maybe we didn't look hard enough? 2024.05.19 13:37 visionsofcry Tldr: stray had severe stomatis, extreme dehydration, underweight, and absesses from fight.

We have a cat that adopted us when we moved into our house 3 years ago. We had dogs so we could never take her in. Summers can get hot around 120f. We started leaving the window open a crack so she can get ac. During storms we'd keep her inside over night. She doesn't like being handled but will come sit on your lap.
Last month she vanished for 2 days. We have like a 20lb stray male bullying the others cats. Our little cat is about 5lbs. We were stressed out. She came back and couldn't jump. She just kept wanting water and we saw her attempt to drink soapy washing up water. A neighbor came over and said she needs to go to the vet immediately.
The vet said we'd need to maybe put her down. She was so badly dehydrated and had a kidney infection. They got her on fluids and she recovered after 4 nights in the hospital.
I knew she had no teeth so we used to puree her meals. Turns out she had some in the back. Her entire mouth was so badly infected that some teeth rotted out and left the roots in. The roots assimilated into her jawbone. They had to do a full extraction and drill out the infected roots.
During recovery a nurse noticed 2 infected abscesses on her side. They treated and drained the pus. A lot of pus. Another few days spent there as they flushed it totally clean.
She came home and we dedicated a room to her for recovery. She's been home 14 days now. She eats like a kitten, nonstop. She is grooming herself and doing better.
So, tomorrow is the day we open the window and let her go back. She's always welcome to stay nights and whenever and she will have unlimited meals. I'm worried about her getting into another fight with a cat, getting sick, or whatever. Is there any advice for releasing her, like time of day or anything? We spent thousands of dollars bring her back to health and we want her to be happy. It seems careless to just open the door and hope for the best? Any practical or emotional advice is appreciated.

2024.05.19 13:36 Spiritual-Durian6344 My fiancée ring got lost, but that’s not all

To begin with I admit, I lost the ring and here is how we got here.
Our problems began in 2021 the day I searched “My girl never apologizes or admits that she is wrong”. I read articles upon articles that led me to information that described exactly what I was going through and that my experiences might be considered as abuse. I thought abuse was limited to physical abuse and that as a man I cannot be a victim of such.
My confrontations to her behaviors started to put a strain on our relationship, I could see right through that it was not always my fault, it was always not always for me to apologize regardless who is at fault.
Nevertheless, fast-forward to March 2022 we had an argument because of something she did to which I responded “If you do this then you are not my Fiancee because this is not how you treat your Fiance” and she immediately took off the ring and said “I am not your fiance”. I took the ring downstairs and put it away because we were leaving together at the time. I went back to my house for the night, we talked through things and continued with the relationship.
Early april 2022, I had enough of the drama and I left her house and went back to my house living with my sisters. During that time, the matter was taken to our church leader and there we spoke of our issues, each their own. At the end of it all, she mentioned she did have the ring anymore and I said I will give it back to her and she said will not put on the ring unless I put it on her. I replied that I will not do that, if you removed it by yourself it's only right that you put it back and she did ask for it after considering her needs were not met.
June/July I found out she was cheating on me with a guy from her gym for 2 months even though we liked each other’s posts dated back to March 2022. When confronted she denied having physical contact and only sexting and meeting for 10 minutes outside. In addition, she blamed me for it saying I was not giving attention and she had to find that with someone. She even asked about marriage a week after the whole thing. Nevertheless, This went back and forth for months all the way to December 2022, we were trying to work things out but it was ugly and we could see each for like once a week.
Throughout 2023 it was the same arguments, we managed to start going dates here there and I had to document all this because there was always a time she will tell me I do dont do enough to make the relationship better. I am not discussing marriage, even though I made it clear that it's not on my mind considering everything that has happened. At this time, I moved in with a friend (male) because my sister had a baby and needed the space.
These arguments dialed down after I stopped sharing how I felt, because this is what would cause arguments sometimes not always. I just bottle it up and continue so everyone is happy.
February 2024, she brings up the marriage subject again and at this time I said I will consider it and we can have discussions. After this she asked for the ring and I said I would go back to my sisters house to look for it, to be honest I did not go for sometime. I went looking for the ring and during this period my sisters were moved into an airbnb by the landlord for 3 months due to damp issues and repairs were going and things were moved around. I did not find the ring.
Meantime, She suggested that She will get any cheaper to wear it, but that ring started wearing out We should get a replacement and I said okay that’s fine. We can do that, but at this point I didn’t think I Would be funding that ring.
She sent a links to buy rings online and I said I won’t buy the ring because this whole about the ring really hurts me considering everything, why don’t we just move with our without the ring
And she said “ The point is I was there. You knew one day I will put back the ring when we work things out. Why did you not take care of it? ”
And “ How can you lose something that is of high value anyways? ”
And “ But you knew there will come a better day, we BOTH HAD HOPE, that’s why we both STUCKED AROUND. You lost the ring and failed to keep it safe. Find it or buy a new one. End of conversation.”
I tried to explain that at some point I no longer thought of the ring anymore it had been 2+ years since she gave back the ring and cannot be found but she thinks I’m blaming of which I said and I’m just saying the sequence of events.
I’ve been honest and transparent that this thing about the ring brings bad memories for me and it hurts, let’s go ahead with the marriage but let’s leave this to the side.
This is what she says “ Sorry for insulting you or saying things that have hurt you. I believe you will seek advice and maybe a decision based on that and I will hear from you then but like a said, I will wait by Wednesday because you like to take your time and I dont want to anymore. If you can have an answer tonight or tomorrow thats great.
I understand you have some pain involved with the ring so I will have to leave you to it and let you make a decision
I just cant imagine being without any sort of ring on my finger until August (we dont even know when that will be we have zero knowledge about things)
Alternatively, go and search for it properly again. Or ask ”…” where it could be. There is so many options.”
TL;DR! - I’ve been given a deadline to replace the ring or it’s over in 48 hours.

🔗Professional XE Series Electronic Cash Register

https://preview.redd.it/9ghz5oaedd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=feaa1f9c3dd16f023352a745c133e2b9c5aab294

🔗Casio Single-Tape Thermal Cash Register for Business

https://preview.redd.it/9qo9ivmfdd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b796fc73fe9d4964333dedf01204832108f7316c

🔗Heavy-Duty Cash Register with Alpha Keyboard and LCD Display

https://preview.redd.it/n49jkvmfdd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=de539e0ebd57052b2847b9d3ccc982047c4b050e

🔗Fast and Accurate Cash Register System with Thermal Printing and 8-Line Display

https://preview.redd.it/f33rfq0gdd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e9314ab913ffe6b00f0a11467485ee790805c89a
I recently discovered the Sharp XEA407 Cash Register while searching for a reliable and feature-rich solution for my little grocery store.

🔗Royal 100Cx Portable Battery/AC Powered Cash Register

https://preview.redd.it/ehbrx3qgdd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6336a0d1631936e4129065c3bb0ff8f80b083cff

🔗Royal 435dx Cash Register with 16 Department Capability and 8 Clerks

https://preview.redd.it/p46ibzsgdd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=388c3cad238c37035aa583f7a2fca3ca9b3546fb

🔗Casio SE-S700 Cash Register: High-Speed Single-Station Thermal Printer

https://preview.redd.it/bw8m582hdd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cda297dee8ba2852e9a6050cf6d8cd0952683543

🔗Refurbished Sharp XE-A106 Sleek Microban Cash Register

https://preview.redd.it/pv6bngihdd1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5531ba303d34110e9ab375d0da811cd88813ade8
I recently got my hands on the Sharp XE-A106 Cash Register and boy, am I impressed! This refurbished gem has been a game-changer in managing sales at my small business.
The first thing that caught my eye was the Microban antimicrobial keys. It's not just about style; it's about hygiene too! The large LED screen is another feature that I absolutely adore. With one line for eight digits, it's so easy to keep track of prices and sales.
The drum printing on standard 2-1/4" plain paper roll is fast and quiet, making it perfect for my retail store. Plus, with functions like eight preprogrammed departments, 80 price lookups, four clerk numbers, auto-tax system, and flash reporting, managing sales has never been easier.
But wait, there's more! The locking cash drawer with four-slot bill compartments, five-slot removable coin tray, and a media slot for quick deposit of checks and bills is just brilliant. Not to forget the easy programming that took me under an hour to set up.
However, nothing's perfect. The one downside I noticed was the slow printing speed. Also, you can't turn off the receipt printer for a "no sale" option.
All in all, the Sharp XE-A106 Cash Register is a reliable workhorse for any small business. Despite the few drawbacks, it's worth every penny. If you're in the market for a cash register, this should definitely be on your list!

I recently purchased the Royal 6000ML Cash Register for my small grocery store, and I have to say, it's been a game-changer. This compact cash register has truly helped streamline our operations, making it easier than ever to manage sales and generate accurate reports.
One of my favorite features is the 36 Department categorization, which has allowed me to analyze sales data in a more detailed manner. The alphanumeric thermal printer, along with the front display and rear LED display, ensures that I can keep track of transactions with ease.
However, there have been some cons as well. The initial setup was a bit challenging due to the lack of clarity in the instruction manual. Some users have also reported issues with the power cord connecting properly to the register.

2024.05.19 13:28 DifficultSquash3459 My fiancé 26M ghosted me 25F and moved out without a goodbye. What do I do?

My fiancé had a habit of lying to me since day one and I discovered another lie on Thursday, three days ago. It caused an argument and so much frustration, depression, anger, and disappointment in me. He promised again and again that he was done lying and I would believe him, only to be stabbed again in the back when another lie came out a week or a few weeks later. He kept trying to say it was my fault that he would lie to me and that I was overreacting. No apology involved. He also told his mother about the argument even though we discussed in the past that it was not right to do because he only would tell a small portion of the story and of course, he makes himself look like the victim and I'm the one in the bad light. Plus she almost caused us to break up back when we were just dating because of him running to her after fights and she would give him terrible advice to leave me because of the one-sided stories she would hear. Last year when that happened, he would pretend to be all loving and happy with me but then run to his mom if we had the slightest of arguments. For example, if we set some boundaries for ourselves and he wasn't consistent with them, I would confront him. He would tell his mother a terrible version of it and she spun up that I was abusive. So they would talk behind my back like this over lies while he smiled in my face. That's when I knew he could put on such facades and lie so easily. I should have left then, I saw the signs, but I was a fool. There was a part of me that suspected this would happen one day, not the ghosting because never in my dreams would I have imagined him being this evil, but I had a feeling this might not work out. I mean I was always questioning my reality and him especially when he would lie and tell me I was imagining things while swearing on his life, my life, our future unborn children, his parent's life, and on Jesus that was telling the truth. Only later find out he was actually lying and I wasn't imagining it. I mean I gave him my trust again and again, which was so hard for me to do in the first place, and he just kept shattering it even knowing how much it hurt me. So I told him I needed some space for the evening and I said I don't know if I can keep doing this (which he took and ran with even though I said it in the heat of the moment when I was hurt, we have both said things like that before in arguments and didn't mean it) and I asked him to get a hotel just for the night, which he did. The next day, I go into work and I receive one single text telling me I made one small thing into a huge deal. He would try to gaslight me at times and he was HUGE at twisting the role and playing the victim. I responded with the reasons why it was not okay for him to keep lying to me because it hurts me so much and why it wasn't just "one small thing," because behind that lie, so many other issues were there too. I didn't get a response. He usually would text me all day everyday and would be so loving and attentive so it was odd. So I went home that day expecting him to be there to talk about it. I arrive home and his truck isn't there. I walk inside and all of his stuff is moved out and gone. He put a photo of the two of us face down on the table and smashed our Bonsai that we called the Bonsai of Love because it was supposed to resemble our relationship. I called and called and texted and texted yet no response. I was begging him to come home to talk. I apologized for getting upset the night prior and that I just want him back home with me. I just couldn't understand how he could do this. It was all delivering too so I wasn't blocked. It wasn't until 10pm when he blocked me after I texted asking why hasn't he blocked me if he's really done? That was me trying to find hope in the situation that maybe he would return and that's why he didn't block me. Well after that, I was blocked. His mother also removed me from the family group chat. It made me wonder if he was just sitting back and laughing at my pleads for a response and possibly even sharing my distraught and sad messages to others. I suspect his mother played a huge role again because again, she almost caused a break up last year because of getting involved and turning him against me with the knowledge he shared, just enough knowledge to make me the villain. It has been two days and I have been ghosted by my fiancé. He also did this the day of my best friend's wedding rehearsal (I'm her maid of honor) and her wedding was yesterday (which he ghosted them for as well). Imagine how hard it is giving a speech for your best friend and her lovely fiancé, now her husband, when you were just horribly ghosted from your own a day prior and are now single. His empty chair was taunting me the whole time too, it was so hard especially with the love songs but I had to pretend to be happy for them. He was such a coward that he never even gave me an explanation or an apology or a goodbye. He ghosted his ex in the past when leaving her yet he at least gave her a phone call. Our relationship was much, much more serious and significant than that was too (theirs seemed more like a high-school type relationship) yet I still received nothing. We lived together, were engaged, spent every second together when we weren't at work, we had so many vacations planned (a weekend away to Lake George next week and an Alaskan cruise next month), on each other's insurance plans & phone bills & renters insurance & even pet insurance, we had a retirement plan set up, we were so close, things were so good because we meshed so well together. Yes, we argued here and there but every couple does, especially those that spend so much time together but his lies were what caused the most distress especially because the negative impact carried on for so long. I have my own issues as does he but he always said we would work through them together and that I never have to worry about him leaving. I would always put him and his needs before me. I would wake up a lot earlier than I have to in order to make him breakfast and lunch for his work day before I started getting ready for work myself and I would just throw something together sloppy, real quick for me. I was so good to him. Again, I do have my flaws and we argued at times but most of the time things were so wonderful. And what really blows my mind is that just days prior to this, he was telling me he wanted our wedding to be in October, we were both planning to move to Colorado and have been getting interviewed for jobs, how excited he was, he would tell me daily again and again that he loved me so much unconditionally, was fully committed to me for the rest of my life, and that he would never leave me. Then he did this. After so much time together, after I brought him into my home, my life... he couldn't even give me the respect or decency to communicate to me. I thought God brought this man into my life, the one I thought I was waiting for. Now I can't help but feel angry at God. He would call me his best friend, soulmate, his entire future. He promised away his life to me like I did mine. I guess it never meant anything to him. How could you treat someone you claim to care for and love like this? It is hard because I know he loved me, I do think if he didn't have his mother in his ear, he wouldn't have done this. But either way, he did do it. He is awful and she is just as bad. I hope karma comes their way. He knows I have abandonment issues and trauma yet he did this without any remorse, it seems. I'll never know.
What kind of monster... I just can't wrap my head around it. No closure. My friends and family are just as shocked and tell me it will hurt for now because it really is mourning a loss but it is a blessing in disguise. That I wouldn't have been happy in a marriage full of lies and distrust. All I know is that I am hurting really bad still. I am hoping I feel better soon. I have never experienced this kind of treatment or hurt before.
tl;dr My fiancé moved out without my knowledge when I was away at work for the day and he has since ghosted and blocked me without any communication. This was two days ago. What do I do? I miss him and our relationship. But I don't think he's coming back. How do I cope?

2024.05.19 13:27 Virgovixen04 I give up

I (25F) was raised in an abusive household where beating and shouting was everyday thing. I wanted just 1 day of peace happiness. Waited for me to leave home for college and when I turned 17 I left. But after a few months I met with an major car accident and I was bedridden for 1.5 years with only one working hand (right hand paralyzed). I went back for college and things started getting worse everyone use to stare me bcz of my scars, everyone just wanted to know what happened to me and I started hiding couldn't study and failed to get my degree. Parents left me, i had no friends no family. Only my dogs who use see me with their eyes full of love. I want everything to just end right here, these shouting in my head, trembling body, heavy heart, numbness in my legs, but all this won't go away. I have to now give up my dogs as i can't take care of them because I don't have money, my body doesn't support me because i can't get treated as i don't have money, my parents left as i don't earn money. "When loved ones made me cry, then I came to know the value of those tears, What was shed for the world was not tears but water." I hope someday life will be more important than money.

2024.05.19 13:25 Jayeezus Haven’t been this excited for a race in a very long time.

Honestly we could be in for a real treat today. McLaren actually look like they have the pace to compete with Red Bull.
If that does materialise, we might finally get to see what Lando is really made of. It’s always been an interesting dynamic with Max and Lando being really good friends, but they’ve never been put in a position where they are directly competing against one another. Not to mention the possibility of the Ferrari’s putting pressure on from behind.
I just hope Max doesn’t pull away and can race unchallenged, he’s already proved himself to be the most aggressive and effective wheel to wheel racer on the track and I’m excited to see how Lando will approach this if he has a competitive car.
2pm can’t come quick enough!

2024.05.19 13:24 freakout18 Someone tried to take away puppies and I resisted. AITAH?

So, something crazy happened today that left me pretty shaken. There's a stray dog who gave birth to five puppies right outside my house. Unfortunately, only two of them survived, but now they're thriving( their names are Stepz and Chris Brown). My brother and I absolutely adore these little guys. We live at the end of a quiet street, so there's no danger of cars, and we take care of them—feeding them, giving them water, milk, and sometimes non-veg treats, and also their medication. They're happy and secure here.
Today, I was inside when I heard the puppies crying. I rushed out and saw a man with a huge stick poking around the bushes where they usually sleep. He was with a woman and two kids, also poking with smaller sticks. I ran over and asked what he was doing. He said he was trying to catch a puppy because his kids wanted a new one after their old puppy was hit by a car.
I told him he couldn't take them because I've been taking care of them and they’re practically mine. He got really angry and started subtly threatening me, saying he knew my neighbor, who is involved in local politics (a subtle threat). I told him I knew my neighbor too and that it didn't matter—the puppies weren’t going anywhere.
He got even more furious, tried calling my neighbor, and then banged on my neighbor's door (who didn’t answer). When he came back to me, he started calling me names and threatening me more. He asked why I didn’t keep the puppies inside if I cared so much, but I already have a dog and my parents won’t let me keep them inside permanently. I do let them inside for a few hours a day and also when it's raining or really hot outside. Plus, their mother would be upset if I took them inside away from her.
I eventually convinced him to leave by suggesting there were other puppies in the neighborhood. But before he left, he again threatened me and told me that he would tell my neighbor that I said bad things about him (which I didn't) and then he will "take care of me."
Now, I’m back inside, wondering if I made the right call. Maybe I should have let them take one of the puppies. On one hand, the pup might have a good life. But on the other hand:
I'm really conflicted now, especially since I might have to deal with my mean and aggressive neighbor because of this.
What do you guys think? AITAH?
(If someone want to see them then DM me I will send you their pics.)

2024.05.19 13:24 DifficultSquash3459 My fiancé [26,M] ghosted me [25,F] and moved out without a goodbye

2024.05.19 13:24 Creepy_Letter_1267 How to stop caring about what my ex is thinking about me?

TL;DR Ex an I work together. Self-esteem shattered by criticism and rejection during the relationship. Therapy helps, but ex's voice still haunts, causing anxiety, especially at work. Fear of new relationship being affected. Struggling with ex's success post-breakup, feeling unfairness of the world.
My (30F) ex(30F) and I broke up about 9 months ago. The relationship was quite abusive: she treated me like garbage from start to finish. Just to give you an example: we worked together, and she played jealousy games involving a coworker of ours. After a while, she admitted doing it because she envied my position in the company.
Anyway, my self-esteem was terrible during this relationship because she criticized me about everything: my way of working, my personality, my English skills (I'm a non native speaker), mocked me, etc. Also, we weren't having sex anymore, and I was rejected many times.
All of this destroyed my self-esteem, which I'm recovering now, but even though I'm getting better, it seems like I've been traumatized by this relationship, and I always hear her voice in my head criticizing everything. Every time I do something, there's an automatic thought like, "she won't like it and will criticize me." This is causing me enormous anxiety, especially because we work together. I'm already going to therapy and I've been doing much better but I can't stop caring about what she would think about everything I do.
I'm also starting to see someone else whom I really like, and I'm afraid this will affect us somehow.
Furthermore, I can't accept the fact that, after she treated me so badly, she's managing to do well: she got what she wanted (same salary as me and a manegement position) and is now dating someone else. I feel like this world is so unfair... bad people always thrive.

2024.05.19 13:24 Marioissexy Are my feelings valid?

I’ve been really confused about my gender identity, I had never given it much thought since as a child I always wanted to be a boy (I am AFAB) but as a child I was told that that was impossible. So then during and after puberty I pretty much stopped thinking about gender and dress pretty much exclusively androgynous or masc.
Recently I have been thinking a lot about it though and it’s been a lot for me. Physically I don’t have problems with how I look really or how I sound, and I don’t want a lot of the effects of T like increased body hair, increased libido, voice changes. But if I could flip a switch to be a cis man I would in a heartbeat.
Mentally, I allign with the “male” gender. It makes me feel good to feel like a man and I don’t like feeling like a woman. So I feel like I only experience any sort of dysphoria in social settings where I know I will be treated as a woman- but I don’t have many negative feelings about this I’d just rather be a man.
My girlfriend has started calling me her boyfriend when we are talking alone and using masculine descriptors for me and it always makes me real happy and gives me butterflies when she tells me i’m manly or that i’m her man.
Emotionally/mentally I really feel like a man and want to be one really badly but I really dont want to ever medically transition and I don’t know if that’s a valid feeling to have. Or what identity that would be. Not that identifies really matter but would I be able to identify as transmasc if I only feel like a man and don’t look like one?

2024.05.19 13:22 Wisbonsin ER relief?

My husband is absolutely debilitated right now, shooting pain all the way to his foot and numbness. He can’t walk. Laying down in a single particular way is the only thing that brings him any relief. If I’m able to get him to the ER will they be able to begin treating this? It is absolutely agonizing to see him like this.
For context, he had had some hip and back trouble the last week. Went to a chiropractor Friday, got immediate relief for what the chiropractor thought was a likely dislocated hip from a recent injury. He got immediate relief from that but woke up Saturday AM barely able to move.

2024.05.19 13:22 Xyyzx Running a Vatgrown/Clone-based Colony

So I’ve had this idea for my next colony, where I want to start and run with a very specific theme and bit of roleplay.
The backstory (bare with me here, it’s actually mechanically relevant) is that the chief geneticist in charge of making Vatgrown soldiers for a warmongering empire fell in love with a highmate destined for bonding to the emperor; classic tragic love story. She ultimately decides to throw her comfortable glitterworld life away, by eloping with the highmate just before the bonding ceremony, and escaping on a small cryo-ship to a peaceful agricultural settlement on the outer rim to live out their lives together.
…obviously with sub-light speed interstellar travel being what it is, the ‘peaceful agricultural settlement’ has run into some problems in the intervening years. Good thing she also brought along her faithful old Hussar bodyguard!
So mechanically, what I want to do here is fully explore the concept of having a small core of ‘real’ colonists to start with, and then having the vast majority (if not all) of the additional citizens be genetically modified Vatgrown hyper-specialists. The little bit of backstory actually spun out of this idea rather than the other way around - my starting three being a Hussar, a Highmate and a custom xenotype that’s basically a Genie (social defecit swapped out for something else so my geneticist can be an effective colony leader) guarantee me eventual access to the genes I’ll need through extraction even if I don’t find them ‘in the wild’.
My issue with executing this is that ideally I don’t want the Vatgrown population to be treated entirely like ‘real’ people. In the case of the soldiers in particular, they should to a large degree be expendable, interchangeable and replaceable; a raid that goes poorly and gets five drone soldiers killed shouldn’t send the colony into a depression spiral, they should simply get straight to work growing five replacements. I’d also like to try and reduce my reliance on prisoners and slaves for producing embryos without inconvenient family connections; it’s just a bit over-complicated and fiddly.
I think I have a list of mods that should mostly improve on the fairly basic vanilla growth vat. ‘Biotech Cloning’ has a system where I should be able to clone one of my starting colonists to get unattached baseliners who can have their specialist xenogerms applied before they even go in the vats, and ‘Enhanced Vat Learning’, will give me the ability to prevent my Vatgrown specialists from developing random traits that work against their purpose. ‘Growth Vats Expanded’ and ‘Oops All Genebanks’ seem useful too, though I’m not certain how well they work with 1.5. If anyone has anything better on the genetics side of things though, I’d be happy to hear about it!
The real problem is trying to work out an ideological system where my cloned soldiers can be expendable but my naturally born colonists are not. Making them slaves seems like an option at first, but it just introduces too many nonsensical problems with rebellions. Two ideologies seemed like it might work, but that only really solves the problem of cloned soldiers caring more about each other than they should. Honestly I’m leaning towards an ideology where colonist death just doesn’t matter at all - it’s not ideal but I’m looking to have my guys be 90% clones anyway and if one of the original three are killed it’s probably the end point of a colony wipe anyway…
So yeah, I was wondering if anyone had any mod suggestions to make this kind of setup easiemore immersive, particularly if it’s something you’ve tried yourself… I’m sure there are plenty of 40k aficionados wanting to build space marines along similar lines!

2024.05.19 13:20 No-Outside-7149 Advise required

I'm 22 M, Since I was born, I've no friends, I'm good to everyone, have been obeying, respecting everyone, took care of every responsibility, looked for better in everyone, helped everyone, gone out of way for people, spent my time and money on them never denied anyone for anything and instead of getting all these in return, what I got is betrayal, selfishness, unexpected outcomes, culpability, no one had my back ever, only cunningness.
Even today, no friends, no one to talk, can't step out of my house to deal with people, no one is playing his/her part with sincerity like I did and am still doing.
People out there are always ready to make others submissive, want to take advantage of others, take everything what one could provide.
I'm quite not very outspoken, take whatever situation gives me, but lately I am very frustrated and usually keeps thinking of this only. I don't know what to do , how to improve, what I'm lacking of , I am good at most of the things which I do be it working , studying or anything else, what this society has been killing me inside, I feel like this place is not for good people, I keep searching for solutions on internet, but to no avail , why there are no good people around me like everyone else had.
If I were to live alone , I might be one the happiest person, but that is not a kind of solution.
I can't stay happy for long , when I tend to be happy then someone will be there who will always be ready to make my life more miserable and pathetic. I'm getting tired of all this.
I sometimes feel like everything might go on smoothly ,if I could prioritise myself , be little assertive, or socialise more ,but I couldn't do all this and neither this is happening if I stay like , I have seen others treating others like they don't exist, and still their life happily, maybe I was brought up in a wrong way.
Please anyone guide me for a way forward. Thanks.

2024.05.19 13:15 ellenoftheways Bird of Paradise advice

Bird of Paradise advice
I bought this from Tesco last year down to pennies (she had to be rescued) and she was going from strength to strength but in the last few weeks I've noticed some odd brown patches and some leaf splitting. Just noticed she's suddenly become very pot bound so will up her pot later. No signs of anything bug wise, but I've washed and treated anyway to be sure. She lives in our west facing bathroom, doesn't appear dehydrated though a very thirst girl.
Could it be fungal or perhaps some cold damage (our house does get pretty chilly)?

2024.05.19 13:13 Chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Career advice anyone?

20f here - I dropped out of university two years ago because I could no longer afford it. I was studying economics and the only thing I genuinely enjoyed was putting data into excel sheets. I haven’t told anyone about this not even my parents because I know they’ll offer to help but that will only result in them being in more debt. I didn’t want to burden them and so I lied and told them that I dropped out because “I just don’t want to go to uni”. I’ve become the black sheep of the family, my parents are so disappointed in me they don’t talk to me anymore.
Since then I’ve just been working in customer service to pay off my debt and I hate it! I’m burnt out and I’ve had enough of being treated like some sort of sub-human. I don’t really have a passion for anything and I don’t think I’m naturally good at anything. All I’m sure of is that I don’t want to continue in this line of work. I really want to study or do more with my life but I just feel like I’m stuck.
I know everyone’s journey is different and “comparison is the thief of joy” but I can’t help but compare myself to my friends who are graduating this year - 3 years have gone by and I have nothing to show for it.
