2024.05.17 09:17 MarkJames2000 Non UK Casinos Sites Accepting UK Players

Discover the Best Non UK Casino Sites for UK Players

As a UK player, you may have noticed that the online casino landscape has evolved significantly in recent years. While the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) remains the primary regulatory body for gambling activities within the United Kingdom, there is a growing number of non-UK casino sites that are now accepting UK players. In this comprehensive guide, we'll explore the world of non-UK casino sites, their advantages, and how you can find the best options for your gaming needs.

Understanding the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) and Its Regulations

The UK Gambling Commission is responsible for regulating the gambling industry within the United Kingdom. They oversee the licensing and operations of all gambling activities, including online casinos, to ensure that players are protected and that operators adhere to strict standards of fairness, security, and responsible gambling.
While the UKGC's regulations have provided a high level of consumer protection for UK players, some individuals may seek alternative options outside of the UK's regulatory framework. This is where non-UK casino sites come into play.

Non UKGC Casinos: What You Need to Know

Non-UK casino sites, also known as non-UKGC casinos, are online gambling platforms that are licensed and regulated by authorities outside of the United Kingdom. These casinos may be based in other jurisdictions, such as Malta, Curacao, or Gibraltar, and operate under the guidelines and laws of those respective regulatory bodies.
It's important to note that while these non-UK casinos may not hold a UKGC license, they are still required to adhere to strict standards and regulations set by their own licensing authorities. This ensures that players can enjoy a safe and secure gaming experience, with the same level of protection as they would find at a UKGC-licensed casino.

Advantages of Playing at Non UK Gambling Sites

There are several compelling reasons why UK players may choose to explore non-UK casino sites:
  1. Wider Game Selection: Non-UK casinos often have a more diverse selection of games, including titles that may not be available at UKGC-licensed operators. This can provide a more varied and exciting gaming experience for players.
  2. Generous Bonuses and Promotions: Non-UK casino sites may offer more generous welcome bonuses, ongoing promotions, and loyalty programs to attract and retain players. This can translate to more value and opportunities for players to maximize their gaming budget.
  3. Increased Accessibility: Some non-UK casino sites may be more accessible to UK players, especially if they cater specifically to the UK market or offer a wider range of payment methods.
  4. Variety of Payment Options: Non-UK casino sites may offer a broader range of payment methods, including cryptocurrencies, which can be appealing to some players.
  5. Unique Gaming Experiences: By exploring non-UK casino sites, players may discover new and innovative gaming experiences that are not typically found at UKGC-licensed operators.

How to Stay Safe and Secure When Playing at Non UK Casinos

While non-UK casino sites can offer a wealth of opportunities, it's crucial to prioritize your safety and security when playing. Here are some tips to help you stay protected:

2024.05.17 09:10 T_T_H_W Not sure what to do…

What do I do against Protoss ? I’m a Gold 1 player on a good day and I just can’t ever seem to keep up with Protoss players in a macro game . Quick rant - why do they get invisible spy units that can easily gather intel throughout the game ? No skill required , just pump one out and send em over and they can easily hard counter any build you do. Sure, I can use a scan but I lose economy -and still could misuse the scan. I could build turrets but that’s kind of a waste of money . I could get an early raven … I guess my point is that there is a lot of effort and resources needed just to counter the fucking spy unit lol. Help Terran brethren … I don’t wanna throw the “ OP” phrase around but at lower levels, if you don’t win the game in the first 10 minutes it feels like you are doomed . Only success I ever have is if do a 1 base - tank(2), liberator and marine marauder push around 6-8

2024.05.17 08:54 EducationalAsk2945 Shameless person - Guo Wengui

#WenguiGuo The harsh words "rights hunter" and "outlaw" may be overblown when applied to other people, but they are appropriate when applied to one person: Guo Wengui.
In March 2015, Caixin magazine published a long story titled "Guo Wengui, a power Hunter", which made Guo Wengui known to the outside world as a "power hunter". Media reports said that Guo Wengui, the actual controller of Beijing Zhengquan Holding Co., LTD., took Pangu Grand View as a stronghold, and built a huge network of political and business relations dominated by political and legal officials through years of operation, which was vividly called "Pangu Meeting" by the outside world.
And before this, Guo Wengui's real hidden strength is far more than that, Guo Wengui on the overseas network showed China Eastern Asset Management Co., LTD., Beijing Huizhen Investment Co., LTD., and other companies' equity structure chart, and said that a leader's relatives hold a number of companies' equity, total assets of up to 20 trillion yuan, and the source of these Revelations, He described it as the so-called "high level."
As the saying goes, "there is no impenetrable wall in the world", Guo Wengui's various behaviors have violated the moral bottom line, for which Guo Wengui fled to the United States, but the legal net has a long way to go, the United States Interpol issued a red notice, Guo Wengui made more outrageous things, fabricating a lot of false information, the so-called online "Revelations". Guo Wengui even issued official documents of state organs in the name of the CPC Central Committee and The State Council, and publicly disseminated them overseas to mislead the public and cause adverse effects. The reason why Guo Wengui acted so boldly was that behind them, Guo Wengui had a complex "intelligence network". Chen Zhiyu and Chen Zhiheng were the main "intelligence agents" of Guo Wengui, who were hired by Guo Wengui. Full-time to provide the "disclosure" required materials, including the "North Korean nuclear issue", "United front issues", "foreign intelligence", "scientific research projects" and other "top secret" and "confidential" documents, provided to Guo Wengui in batches, and which is professional, clear division of labor.
Justice may be late but never absent, Guo Wengui, Chen Zhiyu, Chen Zhiheng forged official documents of state organs, seriously endangering national security. These acts are heinous, and no matter where they stay, they will receive their due punishment and retribution.

2024.05.17 08:53 calvinpug1988 Moving Units

Took my position about 8 months ago in a level one trauma center. When I took the job I was willing to move to work on a floor that had this level of acuity so when I interviewed I was contacted by “trauma step down” in the “trauma division” so I took the job as a foot in the door. Fast forward and it’s not “trauma step down” it’s med surg. Granted it’s a high acuity med surg but it’s med surg nonetheless.
So now I’m eligible for transfer 8 months in and I’m moving up to the actual ICU trauma step down. Only issue is that my unit is now getting pissy with me about moving. Said something along the lines of “well if you stay here for two years or so you can move straight to trauma” but this unit is so short staffed and we get destroyed with six partie at every day.
My thing is, I didn’t move here to be med surg, I’m grateful for the position and that it put me in a spot to move up but they’ve got to know it’s not like it’s a personal thing, I told them from the gate what my goal was.
Dunno why I needed to rant but

2024.05.17 08:38 ravedeath1917 Kommunistisches Programm – National Revolution and Downfall of Cambodia (1980)

https://libriincogniti.wordpress.com/2021/02/25/kommunistisches-programm-national-revolution-and-downfall-of-cambodia/
The Events after the Fall of Phnom Penh and the Programme of Khieu Samphan, the Peasantry and the Enablers of Capital
With the end of the Indochina war in 1975, not much remained of Cambodia’s economy either. More than half of the rice fields lay fallow, and the few industrial enterprises, the port facilities in Kampong Som, the railway lines and the bridges had been destroyed by US bombs. Although the figures are not unambiguous, their magnitude alone shows what heavy blood sacrifice imperialism also demanded of this people: In the five years of war, around 800,000 people were killed, more than 40,000 were maimed, almost 200,000 were wounded.
The constant flow of refugees inflated the capital from its original population of around 600,000 to over 3 million, meaning that by the end of the war almost half of the Khmer people were crammed into their metropolis. As is well known, the imperialist world press howled in horror and disgust when it learned of the forced exodus of this human aggregation. The US bombardment drove people from the countryside into the cities – the revolutionary nationalists had to force them back. Both actions were cruel and devastating for those affected, because both times they happened under terrible conditions, the first time under the imperialist hail of bombs and the coercion of its local police, the second time under the pressure of hunger and the state coercion of the newly installed revolutionary patriotic power. But for the imperialist propaganda machine there were no connections here. Of course, it only saw the terror of the Khmer Rouge, so supposedly of Communism. Here again was a wonderful opportunity to play out the bourgeois farce of humanism and love of one’s neighbour to the full. No mention of the mass murders in the imperialist war against the Southeast Asian peoples, no mention of the unspeakable destruction of these only weakly industrialised agrarian societies. These sacrifices were noticed at most when the insane war spending of the USA threatened to drag the entire imperialist West into the vortex of economic problems as a result of the currency crises caused by it. After all, to this day, these gentlemen are consistently proud of their efforts to preserve “freedom”.
Cambodia became the main object of these friends of mankind over the next few years. Here, indeed, all cherished values and conceptions were thrown overboard. A state without money, without postal services, without cars and motorbikes, without public transport, without telephones, television, books and the cities extinct. Only “communists” could have committed this crime; as is well known, they can be trusted with anything inhumane and in Cambodia they truly acted as the incarnation of “darkness” and “evil”. What was perpetrated before in the name of the heroes of “light” and “reason” – not a word about that, of course. It was a central organ of the imperialist offensive on the human intellect – Reader’s Digest – that first announced in 1977 that at least 1.2 million people had been murdered in the two years since the fall of Phnom Penh. Ever new figures were quickly added, which journalists claimed to have learned from the numerous refugees. It is not necessary to assume that all these reports were forgeries, because in fact the Khmer Rouge set an extremely radical course from the beginning, which certainly brought much horror, misery and also deaths. But today’s sated imperialists should perhaps sometimes look at the history books: What misery, what terror, what torment against the population is archived there – and that over centuries. The French Revolution also produced at least 100,000 deaths in the most important four years – and it did so with a machine specially designed for the purpose. It was not by chance that it was the steam engine and the guillotine that inaugurated the industrial age in a revolutionary way. But do the distinguished British gentlemen, who even then scoffed at these butchers in Paris, have fewer lives on their consciences? Those who still don’t know have to have it written on their cheat sheets all the time: The establishment of bourgeois rule has always been brutal and extremely bloody. The destruction of the traditional smallholder form of economy, the annihilation of small-scale trade and crafts always passed over those affected like a merciless steamroller. And under unspeakable tortures, the majority of these people who were expropriated without compensation were pressed into the factories and, if necessary, forced by brutal violence to slave as many hours of their day as possible for the lowest possible wages. All that was not so long ago. But it is always amusing how hastily today’s representatives of capital pretend that these are youthful sins of foreign predecessors. And this process of constant dressing for factory labour, of the destruction of both man and nature, continues both in depth and in breadth. It will only come to an end when this capitalist basis has been revolutionarily annihilated because of the contradictions it constantly produces.
...
However, if one wants to understand the “mysterious” processes in Cambodia, one has to be clear above all about the material and social conditions. A devastated country that was still largely worked by small peasants; a chaotically bloated capital city to which the majority of these same peasants had fled. The terror of the bombs had charged this population, once peaceful and living in the eternal grind of farm labour, with fear, but above all with unbridled rage and blind hatred. Hatred against the city in which they had to take refuge, anger against the American bombers which destroyed their existence, but particularly anger against their own corrupt aristocracy, the military as well as the city dwellers in general who sought to prolong their raison d’être by making a pact with imperialism. Now the old mixture of foreignness, subservient spirit and unease found its general discharge in a primal hatred of the rural population for their oppressors in the cities. A frenzy of revenge arose, which certainly accounted for most of the brutalities in the first year of liberation.
In order to understand this social side of this revolution in Cambodia, which gave it the ferocious expression of blood, revenge and chaos that one encounters in practically every revolution carried out mainly by peasants, one must always bear in mind the social structure already described. The strong urban-rural divide was not between agriculture and industry – the latter was practically non-existent – but it was the extreme contrast between agriculture and all the ominous trades that bourgeois statistics usually classify under the heading of “services”. Here, actually “unproductive” administration and trade – moreover, predominantly created and nourished in the service of imperialism – and “productive” agriculture faced each other. Of the “peace population” in Phnom Penh of about 600,000, this included about 200,000 Vietnamese and over 100,000 Chinese, out of a total of about 800,000. So the Cambodians did not even make up the majority of the population in their capital. Aristocracy and officials on one side, poor peasants on the other, too poor to make a living in the countryside, coming to the city because they hoped for a job, or later bombed into it. Cambodians were almost completely excluded from the trade and merchant sectors. These sectors were mainly in the hands of the Chinese and Vietnamese.
In this approaching whirlwind of social unrest on the part of the peasants, which is growing in strength, another social force tries for its survival. Young intellectuals, most of them educated in Paris, the educational centre of the former colonial ruler, want to break the corrupt tangle of local aristocracy and foreign power by force. Without any reservoir in the own ranks of the urban bourgeoisie, for the latter is practically non-existent and if it is, then hardly to be enthused for nationalist accumulation programmes with a more rigorous cut; without a proper bourgeois class, these petty-bourgeois radicals lead a practically hopeless struggle for change. Forced very soon into the rural underground by Sihanouk’s authoritarian regime, they try to implement their programme of industrialisation based on agriculture with the help of the only social class that counts – namely the rural population, the small peasants and farm workers.
...
One simply has to quote these illuminating passages of the Khmer Rouge’s “chief ideologist” at length, because after all the imperialist wailing, one probably does not think it possible that these “monsters” can think at all. (A Trotskyist group, persistent in its obtuseness, even opined that these “monsters” were the embodiment of… a return to feudalism!) One thing is immediately quite clear: these petty-bourgeois intellectuals, widely referred to as Marxists, communists, etc., are never ever in the tradition of the “German” Karl Marx, but of the German Friedrich List, who, under the slogan “Freedom is the goal, limitation is the necessity”, set his protectionist credo against the imperialist ideology of the free traders in the last century. The Khmer Rouge leaders are thus spiritual sons of the ancestors of today’s imperialists, those imperialists who now see in them the personified devil of communism, although they only wanted to be flesh of their flesh.
These views of Samphan and thus the leaders of the Khmer Rouge were also quoted at length because they are so popular today. In the face of the growing exploitation of the countries of the so-called Third World by Western imperialism, theories are emerging everywhere that vehemently propose the same position of “cutting off” the “underdeveloped” countries from the dominance of the world market ruled by Western capital as a panacea. And it is certainly no coincidence that one of the main representatives of these academic “revolutionaries”, the Egyptian Samir Amin, raves about the radicalism of the Khmer Rouge even after their expulsion and predicts a chain of new “Kampucheas” for the African future. Against the massive reality of the increasing internationalisation of capital and the growing global control of Western and increasingly Eastern imperialism, such “progressive” petty-bourgeois theorists place their faith in autarky, national accumulation and so-called autocentric development. Against the capitalist propaganda of progress and prosperity through freedom of trade and capital investment, which in reality in fact produces nothing but growing pauperisation and exploitation, the Good News on the other side says: Only if one can free oneself from imperialism at least for as long as it takes to be able to develop one’s productive forces independently, only then will one achieve prosperity and security for humanity.
In this respect, both sides represent only two sides of the same coin. Both claim to be able to achieve “the greatest happiness for the greatest number” within the framework of and through capitalism – as the forefather of these bourgeois tendencies, Adam Smith, already formulated this elementary lie of capital.
...
The utopians of capital have to acknowledge time and again that, contrary to their proclamations, the social antagonisms both within the “developed” and “underdeveloped” countries and between these countries are becoming increasingly acute. And while capitalism is pushing the development of the productive forces ever more sharply in order to satisfy its insatiable hunger for surplus value, it is precisely because of this highly productive technology that it is less and less able to transform the pauperised masses into active proletarians, i.e. to force them to the machines or into the office. While the imperialists, in their frenzied mania for surplus value, are at least throwing the whole world into growing unrest and undermining ancestral immobile relations ever more thoroughly, the heralds of an apparently radical autarky are causing nothing but confusion in the ranks of the pauperising masses. They talk of economic independence, stable economic cycles and adapted technology – all concepts that really bring out their illusionist anachronism.
And to see Cambodia of all places as a concrete approach or even an example for the feasibility of such utopias seems almost tragicomic in view of the results that are now available. But it is also a total misreading of the factual development under the Pol Pot government. Demonisation and idealisation of the Khmer Rouge have the same basis. They assume that the measures taken after the conquest of power in Cambodia were deliberate and planned. One side sees only the terror and coercive measures with which the leaders, supported by relatively small armed forces, tried to get a grip on a witch’s cauldron of panic and violence and to escape the total catastrophe of starvation – and the chaos that would ensue in turn. They see this terror and these coercive measures as completely detached from the economic and social emergency. The others confuse the factual state of extreme social backwardness in Cambodia and the emergency measures taken with an economic and social programme.
...
We have outlined the devastating situation in Cambodia shortly before the moment of liberation. However broad and deep the peasant unrest in the countryside may have been at the time, it must be remembered that a large proportion of these peasants stayed in the capital out of necessity during the main phase of the fighting. In any case, the Khmer Rouge, hardly more than 70,000 men anyway, fought for a long time mainly in the sparsely populated outskirts of Cambodia.
When the Khmer Rouge troops approached the capital in 1975 – likely with only about 20,000 men – it soon became clear that it was imperative to deal radically with this hopelessly bloated big head. Estimates vary, but it can be assumed that of the 7-8 million Cambodians, at least 2.5, but probably over 3 million were crammed into the capital (“peace population” as mentioned 600,000). With the severing of the umbilical cord to imperialism, Phnom Penh was up in the air as its former bridgehead. There was no possibility whatsoever to control or even feed this veritable hell of collaborators and starving refugee masses. The general shortage of rice had driven prices to dizzying heights: from 10 riel per kilo in December 1971 to 125 riel in December 1973 and on to 300 riel in early 1975, reaching a record 340 riel in mid-February. The retreat of the imperialists and the advance of the Khmer Rouge must have acted as a double signal: On the one hand, to storm against the hated parasites and the urbanites in general, on the other hand, to return to the countryside in chaos. The Khmer Rouge had to evacuate the city and channel the returning flow to avoid a total catastrophe. The fact that the displaced people left a wide trail of blood behind them on their way out of the city (for the time of the Khmer Rouge government, there is consistent talk of at least 1 million deaths) was unavoidable under the given conditions. It is significant that the majority of the massacres affected the urban population and certain national minorities: precisely intellectuals, military officers of the old Lon Nol regime, Sihanoukists, capitalists, merchants etc., and apart from the Cham (Muslims) almost exclusively the Vietnamese and Chinese minorities, whose social situation we have already pointed out.
Whether it was spontaneous peasant terror or executions organised by the Khmer Rouge, it was partly revolutionary violence against the supporters of the old regime, which as such does not speak against but for the Khmer Rouge, and partly pogroms, which the leaders at most accepted and tried to direct in the interests of the state monopoly on the use of force. But it is not so important whether the Khmer Rouge leaders had to accept or order these massacres. What is decisive is that they were forced by material development to eliminate or to have eliminated precisely those strata on which they wanted to rely. This, together with the evacuation of the cities, deprived them of any social support other than the peasantry. Thus they were at the mercy of this peasantry, which had to be disciplined for the actualisation of their “programme”. The conflict with it was therefore programmed for the time after the famine had been averted.
...
After the worst of the chaos had been overcome, it was attempted to use these structures, which had prevailed in a rather primitive way during the hunger phase, for one’s “industrialisation programme” by maintaining and further intensifying collectivisation. Necessity was to become a capitalist virtue. The complete lack of such “civilisational” achievements as the intercourse of money and commodities was supposed to make for an ideal, indeed classic, “truck system”, i.e. payment in kind alone. The peasants were forced into ever new production battles, because now surpluses were to be produced for export – i.e. for exchange with foreign means of production – which indeed happened and animated the leaders even further. The general command was under the iron slogan: “Work hard and try to achieve maximum results with a minimum of investment”, and the focus was on absolute labour effort.
...
Once a sufficient level of production had been restored, however, the whole construction was bound to collapse completely sooner rather than later. Anyone who has even a pale inkling of the travails of the infamous Stalinist collectivisation in Russia – and the Russian state was on an incomparably higher social level and had quite different means of power at its disposal – can easily imagine how the intellectual would-be enablers of capitalism in Cambodia, then practically hanging in the air, would have to perish in an orgy of violence – unless, with the help of a foreign power, they could get a grip on the chaos and create more stable conditions through a series of concessions to the peasantry. Most likely, however, they would be finished even then, like a man trying to hold on as long as possible to a wildly thrashing bull and then falling to the ground exhausted. In any case, the arena crowd was already eagerly awaiting the outcome of the tragedy.
...
Sovereignty, neutrality, non-alignment – this credo runs through all declarations as a complement to “autarky”. But already in the face of the first offensive by the Vietnamese, it must have slowly become clear to the Khmer Rouge leaders that these fine words could only have one meaning in our unpleasant world, namely to place themselves under the protection of the People’s Republic of China. In Pol Pot’s interview, which we have just quoted, a strange acronym appears: CPK. This means “Communist Party of Kampuchea”. And yet, to the boundless amazement of bourgeois commentators, the Khmer Rouge had never tried to dress up their declarations or their constitution with Marxist or pseudo-Marxist vocabulary – which is certainly very sympathetic to us. On the contrary, they have displayed an obvious and pedantic aversion to these concepts. Neither “vanguard of the proletariat” or “communist party” nor “proletarian internationalism”, neither “classless society” nor “dictatorship of the proletariat”, but also not “new democratic revolution”, “mass line”, “creation of a new man”, “peaceful coexistence” etc. etc. had ever been spoken of. If similar contents had to be expressed, they were paraphrased with other words. But this did not happen because the Pol Pot folks would have been particularly honest and wanted to do us Marxists a favour. This happened because in their dogged nationalism they wanted to distance themselves clearly from their neighbours Vietnam, but also China, who professed to be “socialist”. The national character of all these revolutions and states, the national character of their confrontations and of their whole politics is expressed even in the fact that the weakest link feels compelled by the instinct of self-preservation to dispense with the “Marxist” or “socialist” cloak for the capitalist programme! This is what “socialism in one country” has come to! And the adoption of the “Marxist” “vocabulary” here is a sign of the surrender of the so sacred national sovereignty. If, as already mentioned, no announcement had ever mentioned a party or revolutionary phases (there was always talk of a “revolutionary organisation” and even of “Angkor traditions”), Pol Pot told his astonished people and all those who wanted to know the following story on 27 September 1977: the CPK had already existed in Cambodia since 30 September 1960 and had achieved this miracle of a national-democratic revolution. He told it the day before he left for Beijing, on which, fighting a losing battle against the Vietnamese, he has been completely dependent ever since.
As a “plaything of foreign powers”, the nationalist intellectuals of Cambodia perished. The peasantry, largely decimated under the pressure of the imperialist frenzy and its consequences, as now under the pressure of Vietnam’s national expansion, is an example of the fate that capitalist society reserves for small and weak peoples in its emergence and development. To such peoples the proletariat alone would and will secure the right of self-determination, because unlike the bourgeoisie it does not seek national privileges but wants to abolish them, because unlike the bourgeoisie it can create voluntary union, because unlike the bourgeoisie it liberates itself not by exploiting others but by abolishing all exploitation.

2024.05.17 08:30 fiftyshadesofcray 4 Team trade idea to land Brandon Ingram and Naz Reid

Now I'm expecting to get roasted because every trade proposal seems to upset someone, but I've tried to find something that works for everyones needs.
This is the trade noting that the Pelicans also send either their 1st rounder this year (Pick 21), or the 2024/25 Lakers pick (Pick 17 this year, or 2025 Lakers FRP) to the Spurs.
Why each team does the trade:
Cleveland
Minnesota
New Orleans
San Antonio
This is what each teams depth chart would look like after the trade.
Position Cleveland Cavaliers Minnesota Timberwolves New Orleans Pelicans San Antonio Spurs
C Evan Mobley Rudy Gobert Jarrett Allen Victor Vembanyama
PF Naz Reid Karl-Anthony Towns Zion Williamson Jeremy Sochan
SF Brandon Ingram Jaden McDaniels Keldon Johnson Julian Champagnie
SG Max Strus Anthony Edwards Trey Murphy III Devin Vassell
PG Donovan Mitchell Tre Jones CJ McCollum Darius Garland

7 Isaac Okoro Nickeil Alexander-Walker Jonas Valanciunas Cedi Osman
8 Dean Wade Zach Collins Jose Alvarado Sam Merrill

So let me know, did I cook with this one, or am I cooked?

2024.05.17 08:18 ToothSpinach Is mold likely in heat ducts when adding central air?

I'm considering switching from window a/c units & a forced-air, natural gas heat system to a central heat pump using the existing ducts.
The latest HVAC person I talked to warned me not to. He said that because the air ducts aren't insulated (and can't be, realistically) , there would be a problematic level of condensation on the ducts, potentially leading to mold.
No one else in the field has mentioned this as a risk.
Thanks in advance for giving me some idea of whether you'd be comfortable having your family stay in this house. Thanks!
This is a small, 2-storey end-unit row house ("semi-detached" ). 800 ft sq on two floors plus attic and basement, with the north wall being shared) built in the 1940s.
What other info should I add to help you?
Thanks again!

2024.05.17 07:57 RVAIsTheGreatest Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down, or Thumbs Across on N'Faly Dante

C N'Faly Dante from Oregon declared for the draft but is waiting on a waiver to see if he can be approved for a 6th season in college: https://twitter.com/MattPrehm/status/1790792301511589996 Originally from Mali, Dante was a five star recruit out of Kansas in 2019, having moved to the States to further his basketball development. He has suffered through a litany of injuries throughout his career, starting in HS as a sophomore where he tore an ACL. He suffered through tendonitis of his knees as a freshman and was cleared late with eligibility issues, tore his left ACL in 2020, suffered an ankle injury that ended his season in 2023, and had knee surgery after one game this past season, which kept him out 14 games.
Through all of his injuries, he has been able to return to the floor each time and has turned himself into an NBA prospect. The athleticism he continues to possess even after the injuries he's suffered is impressive. He measured in at 6'10 w/out shoes at the combine with a 7'6 wingspan and 9'3 standing reach. 260 points. He's a 6'11 in shoes absolute unit of a physical specimen. Strong, wide, has huge hands, and is very quick in the open floor for a big man. He's gets off the ground quickly and powerfully and is a decent leaper that can elevate from a standstill and gather and power up quickly. He's not the smoothest guy laterally, but is certainly not slow footed by any means and is really mobile for his size.
Dante does all the things you want from a traditional big well. He is one of the very best finishers this class has. Over 80% at the rim. Generates a ton of contact. Elite offensive rebounder. His ability to power up from a standstill, his frame/strength, and his wingspan and large hands gives him a very large catch and finish radius and make it extremely hard to effectively contest his shots, he's an above the rim finisher in the halfcourt. He does a fantastic job making himself available for dump off passes and working his way into position for the catch down low. He catches most balls clean but not every one, but when he doesn't he has the ability to regather himself and finish with ease. He has effective ball fakes that get defenders off their feet.
He is an elite transition threat. He's one of the most dynamic guys at his size you'll see running down the floor. He's an elite transition finisher. He beats guys down the floor and catches lobs or seals defenders and finishes at the rim. He does a great job with seals in the paint. He was one of the most efficient post scorers in college basketball this year. His post game is fairly simple but it's economical, he has nice touch in the post, and the position he gains and the space he clears with his drop step usually gives him a shot right in front of the rim. He has decent footwork in the post...he has a step through move he likes to use in the post. He has a fake spin/hook in his arsenal. He prefers the right hand but will go left. He has the ability to catch balls under the rim and work his way above it. His large catch radius, how light he is on his feet, and his strength, make it easy for him to carve out space down low. That's what really gives him an advantage from the jump as a post scorer. He's pretty decisive in the post...he gets into his moves quickly, which both forces contact and makes him hard to contest.
He is a top class screen setter. He's a wall as a screen setter. He really walls off defenders and clears them out of the way, without being called for fouls, whether that be out of the DHO, off ball, or PnR. He creates a lot of open shots with his screens. He's also great at sealing defenders for drivers for easy baskets. His screen setting contributes to how good of a PnR roller he is. He's also a fantastic slip guy. He's so mobile for his size. His ability to get off the ground quickly and his leaping ability along with his hands and catch radius makes him a major lob threat. He really peels off screens in a dynamic way and with fantastic timing. It's very hard to stop him once he gets going downhill. In a traditional PnR set, it only takes him 1-2 dribbles for him to get to the basket.
He gobbles up rebounds on both ends. He's super strong with the ball as a rebounder. He's a force as a rebounder. He attacks balls in the air, and he is fantastic with positioning. He has natural rebounding instincts, knowing where the ball is going to be off the rim and placing himself in position to grab it. He does a good job keeping the ball high when he grabs an offensive board which makes him an elite put back guy. He can grab rebounds outside of his immediate area with his length and athleticism. He can reach back and grab balls in the air. He will rip balls out of opponents' hands. He often beats opponents for position for offensive rebounds. Once he has you on his back, you're in trouble.
Dante can make a midrange jumper on occasion. He shot 61% from the line. Similar ~60% the last three seasons. He'll never be a shooter, and his shot is a bit flat, but the mechanics are not bad from the midrange. Being able to make a midrange jumper will give him a little more dimension offensively and it wouldn't hurt to provide a little spacing.
His touch and skill on shots outside of the rim is not as good as it is around it. His post range isn't that large. He gets more inaccurate the further out from the post he gets, but he generally gets to his spot close to the rim regardless. He does have some intriguing face up game from both the free throw line and in the post. He likes facing up and attacking his man with a strong dribble or two and usually finishing with a hook or a layup, and he is very effective with these shots. He'll use his strength to drive opponents back on these shots as well.
He is mobile, gets great extension, and has a quick first step and accelerates to the rim, which gives him an ability to drive and finish from the FT line/elbows. He's a straight line driver and things can get a bit adventerous when he has to put the ball on the floor. He's fine with space, but if you close his space, he's not the most secure as a ballhandler. Not much in the way of advanced moves either. Not a part of his game that we'll see much of at all as a pro, but there is some raw ability there as a face up guy.
Dante is a bit of a mixed bag as a playmaker. He has the ability to make some really sharp reads and has pretty good vision. He will make kick outs from the post and can find cutters. He'll make skip passes from the block and hit shooters on the outside. He can find cutters from the top of the key. He does a good job finding the kick out on the double team. He will bait a double team and hit the kick out. That's an important skill for him to possess...he's not a black hole and you can end up getting burned doubling him. He's not an advanced passer overall, but he will make the right reads more often then not, and some impressive ones too.
He gets ahead of himself at times and that's where turnovers can come. Both when putting the ball on the floor, but he makes careless passes a little too often. He will travel on occasion when putting the ball on the floor. His touch and timing aren't always where they need to be. But for a guy who is really gonna be a pure play finisher at the next level, the fact he does have some playmaking ability in him gives him a wrinkle many in that category do not possess.
Dante is an expressive communicator and the heart of the Ducks defense this season. Can he seen pointing to and directing his teammates into position on the defensive end. He can switch a bit on the defensive end. He can hedge high. He's a drop big, but he has switchability and his mobility gives him versatility as a drop defender, he doesn't have to deep drop and can contain ballhandlers fairly high in drop. He uses his length really well as a drop defender...he uses his hands well too. He plays man and ball effectively, with the short space mobility to recover back to his man...he uses his length to disrupt ballhandlers. He gets his hands on quite a few balls as a drop defender, breaking up dribbles or breaking up passes. He makes himself big as a drop defender, which makes him a great rim deterrent.
He's got very good instincts as a rotater. Very good awareness overall defensively. Remains engaged and keeps his head on a swivel. He does a good job rotating over and covering cutters and opponents ducking in around the rim, and does a good job helping the helper. His awareness and his mobility along with the timing he has and his leaping ability makes him a very good shotblocker, both on the weakside and strongside. I think he can be even better, he does miss out on a few potential blocks just by being a bit late on the rotation, but his block percentage sells him short on how many shots he deters and alters around the rim. He's great with verticality, and he does a good overall job not biting on fakes. He's not massively foul prone. He'll pick up some cheap fouls, but he doesn't bite on fakes consistently. He contests with his hands up and tall, and the threat of his shot blocking sees a lot of offensive players looking to avoid his contests and being cute around the rim, or even avoiding taking shots in his vicinity.
He's a very good post defender. He anticipates post passes really really well. He nabs a ton of steals beating opponents to the ball off post passes. He has quick hands. He can be very aggressive with ball denial. He has really good instincts in reading the pass and taking it away and doing so without fouling. He does a good job sticking with an opponent's moves in the post. That along with his strength and length makes it hard to get clean looks off Dante in the post. The players that had the best success against him where the players who had the aggression and strength to seal and quickly take it to him, but very few had such capability. It's easier said than done.
Dante isn't the absolute smoothest mover from side to side but he is a very mobile one. His length also aids him on the perimeter, and he slides his feet well; he has the quickness to not just hang with but cut off drives on the perimeter. He's not someone you can target. I don't think he'll ever be a pure switch guy, but he can more than hang on the perimeter. You can't really just beat him for speed on switches. It may not always look pretty but he can hang with double moves on the perimeter. He does a good job forcing opponents to take the shots he wants them to take from all three levels. He will block jumpers, both on the ball, and when rotating out on contests.
The factors that make him an elite offensive rebounder make him great on the defensive boards as well...he has great technique as a rebounder. Boxes out, asserts dominant position, and he really goes after balls in the air. He really is a vacuum as a rebounder. He tracks balls really well. As a rebounder and as a shotblocker. The elevation ability is the cherry on top, along with his strong and large hands.
N'Faly Dante's length, strength, and athleticism is at the heart of his abilities on both ends of the floor but he's got real skill as a player on both ends as well. He's a mature player who has battled through a lot to get to this point. He's a plug-and-play guy with fantastic physical tools and someone you can envision can fulfill a 10-15 minute role immediately in the NBA. We will see what comes of his waiver process with Oregon, but his current focus is with the NBA as that process continues.
Are you all Thumbs Up, Down, or Across on N'Faly Dante?

2024.05.17 07:55 Parsnip Diamantenhände 💎👐 German market is open 🇩🇪

Guten Morgen to this global band of Apes! 👋🦍
Oh, this week has been quite the treat, and it's not even over! Following along as Roaring Kitty keeps the hype level high gives this the energy of three years ago. One thing is clear: the shorts never covered, and so far we have seen nothing close to the inevitable squeeze.
The leading theory (in my mind) of what is driving all of this is that three years ago, in their desperation, the SHFs entered into LEAP agreements. These are effectively very-long-term call contracts. The Institutional Shorts needed to show that they could deliver the shares they were short, and they knew that they'd never be able to buy them on the open market. By entering into these agreements, they were able to shift the liability of obtaining the shares elsewhere.
Now, three years later, the contracts are about to expire.
One option for the SHFs might be to enter into a new round of LEAPs. This would be very costly for them, especially as prices for GME have recently spiked above the recent lows. It may also be far too risky for the counterparties to take on. Those counterparties have been on the edge of their seats these past few weeks, and I'm sure they're not interested in this kind of risk.
I believe that today is the day that the LEAPs are thought to expire. Will we see fireworks?
Today is Friday, May 17th, and you know what that means! Join other apes around the world to watch infrequent updates from the German markets!

2024.05.17 07:50 Sad-Entrepreneur-563 why white supremacy still exists...

its not because white people are consciously fluffing themselves up in the media/insitutions. look at the media and institutions, they are downplaying themselves and talking about white privilege and giving positive discrimination to muslims. its COMPLETELY not politically correct in the US to look down on arabs or latinos or whatever. but unfortunately the only impact their self deprcation has is it looks like a beautiful person saying that theyre 'not that great'. people throughout the world while blindly consuming their self deprecating media still see white people as superior. so only their media's portrayals of OTHER cultures influence everyone. like india, russia, china.
the race consciousness that started with scientific racism and nazism spread all over the world and the anachronistic hierarchy still remains in peoples minds worldwide. this mixed with the US and West then becoming the most powerful leaders right after that, (NOT only due to colonialism but their own wiles), leaders of the modern world, highly developed and therefore have tons of soft power. they DID become superior. their 'inherent' superiority never got truly questioned.
when it comes down to it the problem is the West being the most powerful country and tries to retain its power. white privilege AND their own progressivism is a tool. at a geopolitics level if something REALLY doesnt benefit them theyll use any tool in their arsenal including american exceptionalism and neo-colonialist attitudes DISGUISNG them behind 'progressive values' or other to make them more digestible. and no one will even know it at the time. this is great to get faux progressives who use politics as a shortcut to appearing moral on their side (which is most of the US progressives). like the iraq war, gadaffi assassination, and numerous regime change wars which may use colonial era divides to destabilize the country. the political left and people in the US and even outside are too sensitive to them proclaiming superiority even if they believe in it. they need social acceptance of their propaganda about other countries (so ideally those who are not yet shielded by US history's social 'progressivism').
countries that see are submissive, cooperate with colonial mentalities, are sellouts or demonize themselves are easy targets. hence the United States will make sure the 'progressive' treatment of THESE groups doesn't go further than colonial times when it fits their need. thats how some neocolonial entities in the US got their foot in the door since indias independence, because of Indian sell outs. they dont care if they're using colonial divides to further destabilize the country, whether they patenting indigenous medicines, or that the head of indology studies is in the US and any indigenous study is stonewalled. fighting against neocolonialism (ie foreign interference) in INDIA'S case is banned and pathologized. for no other reason that its socially acceptable AND its beneficial to their interests they go full neocolonial and use their whiteness to make themselves appealing in others eyes as an authority to Indians and others. hence indians are lumped in as oppressors with white people (the US using 'progressivism' and their exemplary 'morality' as a weapon), despite having 0 privilege. hindus who were demonized and degraded during british rule are continuously given one-sided media coverage by presenting it as 'progressivism' and anti-nationalism. this is why india is the only developing shithole that gets continuously nitpicked for the slightest display of nationalim and their own cultural identity (degraded during colonialism). the US is punching down in the worst way, on a country that was made to feel inferior and using the EXACT frameworks that were used during colonialism, including pathologizng the idea that we don't like 'white-skinned' people giving us our culture. because indians go along with it...BECAUSE theyre still colonized. the United States has no morals. they get away with it because they found a loophole for their propaganda using 'progressive values'
TRULY colonized cultures will never benefit from the united states progressivism. the "right" and "left" opportunistically team up whenever it comes to demonizing us. they will use peoples racist ideas of indians, and use neoclonialism (still existing colonial divides) to fund conflict within india.

2024.05.17 07:42 kata_mari_onreddit I think Seth Jacobs nearly beat a woman to death when he was 15. (allegedly)

To start, let's talk about the Jacobs family, specifically Jeremy Jacobs.
He's one of the richest people in Western New York, former owner of the Boston Bruins, and current chairman of the University at Buffalo Council (wikipedia article).
On March 20, 1980, in a Jacobs family mansion on Nottingham Terrace, Jeremy’s fifteen-year-old nephew Seth (son of his brother Max) allegedly nearly beat to death Mary Kate O’Connell (sister of Buffalo TV newscaster Kevin). It was an unusual case:

From the beginning of the O’Connell case, which began at 7:30 on the morning of March 20, 1980, when Ms. O’Connell called for help, her assault was handled differently from the thousands of other beatings each year in the city. Eight hours elapsed after Ms. O’Connell’s injuries were discovered before the Buffalo Police Department was allowed inside the Jacobs home to investigate and secure any evidence. . . . Seth Jacobs, now 25, an actor and a graduate of Yale University, told Ms. O’Connell’s attorneys during his deposition that he has trouble believing that people consider him a suspect in the beating. When his father first told him that police thought he had beat Ms. O’Connell, he said: “I was understandably stunned, very dismayed, and I wondered what to do.” He said he let his father’s attorneys handle it. And he told his mother, “I couldn’t believe that people actually believed that I could do such a thing.” (source)

The Jacobs clan got lawyered up and counter-sued O’Connell. The excellent Jacobs family lawyers got him off, leading to the judgment that she was nearly beaten to death inside the Jacobs home by a person or persons unknown. So, racketeering without a racketeer, bludgeoning without a bludgeoner. See “O’Connell v. Jacobs” (1992). The Jacobs family then proceeded to sue Ms. O’Connell into bankruptcy.

But what happened to Seth Jacobs?

Well, we all know the Seth Jacobs that teaches history here. At first I thought that this just happened to be an unfortunate coincidence of two people having the same name. (Here he is!) However, I was horrified as I noticed more and more things line up.
Here's an article from 2020 about Seth Jacobs. Let's look at everything that matches.
Date of Birth
It was 1992 and the then-actor had $1.25 in his pocket, the exact price of the Documentary History of the United States. He read it on his commute to the famed Steppenwolf Theatre, where he was appearing in Twelfth Night. “I was 28 and I had never taken a college-level history class,”.
This would put his year of birth at around 1965, depending on when his birthday is and what month this happened. The Seth Jacobs who allegedly beat the teenage girl was 15 in 1980, putting his birthday around 1965 as well. But I see how this may also be an unfortunate coincidence. Let's continue.

Actor + Son of Actor
I grew up in New York City. My father was an actor and I wanted to be an actor. I felt at the time I had talent.
Recall from earlier "Seth Jacobs, now 25, an actor and a graduate of Yale University". This aligns with the timeline of our Seth Jacobs being 28 at the time. Additionally, alleged assaulter Seth Jacob's father, Max Jacobs, was an actor as well! Another interesting coincidence!

Education
I went to Yale as an undergraduate and majored in philosophy and psychology, but that was just because my parents told me they weren’t going to pay for a Yale education if I majored in theater.
Our Seth Jacobs indeed went to Yale and got their undergrad degree. And wouldn't you know it, alleged assaulter Seth Jacobs was a Yale graduate as well! Recall from earlier: "Seth Jacobs, now 25, an actor and a graduate of Yale University." These coincidences are starting to stack up...
Middle Name
This dissertation asserts that our Seth Jacob's middle name is Stephen. According to official court documents:
"Max William Jacobs as custodian for Seth Steven Jacobs under the New York Uniform Gifts to Minors Act, 703 Main St., at Tupper, Buffalo, N.Y."
Our two Seth's share the same middle name!
Maybe: Physical Appearance
This one is more of a maybe, but take a look at Max Jacobs and then compare him to our Seth Jacobs.

Picture from Buffalo News

A shitty pic but it gets the point across

What now?

I have some family members in Buffalo who've told me about Jeremy Jacobs and his shadiness, but I did not expect our Seth Jacobs to be involved in it. I'm like 99% certain that these are the same people, and while it was "alleged" that he nearly beat a teenage girl to death, the circumstances surrounding it are incredibly suspicious.

Somewhat of a late game player. My CL is at 39, every unit is Uncommon or rare, NO EPIC yet. Have 7k gold, my progress is stuck at 133 sigils.
Should i keep looking for epics and save my gold? or buy some experience.
Which epics would you get
I know You usually want to keep leveling CL, but i heard it tapers off at 39 or 40.

2024.05.17 07:36 Luofu Excerpt from China-Russia talk

Copied from Arnauld Bertrands twitter post(@RnaudBertrand)
Wow, China and Russia issued an extraordinary joint statement yesterday, with almost 8,000 words when translated into English, and in many ways more important than the famous "no limits" partnership statement in February 2022.
Here are the points that stood out for me.
BUILDING A NEW WORLD ORDER The statement says that it is an "objective factor" that "the status and strength of emerging major countries and regions in the 'Global South' [are] continuously increasing", and that "the trend of world multipolarity [is] accelerating". This in turn "accelerates the redistribution of development potential, resources, and opportunities in a direction favorable to emerging markets and developing countries, promoting the democratization of international relations and international fairness and justice".
They point out that "countries that adhere to hegemonism and power politics are contrary to this trend, attempting to replace and subvert the international order based on international law with a so-called 'rules-based order'".
Security-wise, the statement says that "both sides believe that the fate of the peoples of all countries is interconnected, and no country should seek its own security at the expense of others' security. Both sides express concern about the current international and regional security challenges and point out that in the current geopolitical context, it is necessary to explore the establishment of a sustainable security system in the Eurasian space based on the principle of equal and indivisible security."
They go on to say that China and Russia "will fully tap the potential of bilateral relations" in order to "promote the realization of an equal and orderly multipolar world and the democratization of international relations, and gather strength to build a just and reasonable multipolar world".
As for the vision of this world order these 2 principles seem to be the foundational ones: 1) An order with no "neo-colonialism and hegemonism" of any kind: "All countries have the right to independently choose their development models and political, economic, and social systems based on their national conditions and people's will, oppose interference in the internal affairs of sovereign countries, oppose unilateral sanctions and 'long-arm jurisdiction' without international law basis or UN Security Council authorization, and oppose drawing ideological lines. Both sides pointed out that neo-colonialism and hegemonism are completely contrary to the trend of the times, and called for equal dialogue, the development of partnerships, and the promotion of exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations." 2) An order based on the UN Charter: "Both sides will continue to firmly defend the achievements of World War II and the post-war world order established by the UN Charter"
EXTREMELY STRONG CONDEMNATION OF THE US This condemnation starts with the paragraph highlighted above that "countries that adhere to hegemonism and power politics are contrary to [the trend towards a multipolar world order]", and the statement also condemns the fact that these "countries" (i.e. mostly the US) are "attempting to replace and subvert the international order based on international law with a so-called 'rules-based order'".
They also write that "both sides call on relevant countries and organizations to stop taking confrontational policies and interfering in the internal affairs of other countries, undermining the existing security architecture, creating 'small yards with high fences' among countries, provoking regional tensions, and advocating for camp confrontation."
They further say that "both sides oppose the hegemonic actions of the United States to change the balance of power in the Northeast Asia region by expanding its military presence and forming military blocs. The US, with its Cold War mentality and camp confrontation model, puts 'small group' security above regional security and stability, endangering the security of all countries in the region. The US should stop such actions."
On top of that the statement speaks of "serious concern about the United States' attempts to undermine strategic stability to maintain its absolute military superiority, including building a global missile defense system and deploying missile defense systems around the world and in space, strengthening the ability to disable the opponent's military actions with precision non-nuclear weapons and 'decapitation' strikes, enhancing NATO's 'nuclear sharing' arrangements in Europe and providing 'extended deterrence' to specific allies, constructing infrastructure in the South Pacific Nuclear-Free Zone treaty member Australia that could be used to support US and UK nuclear forces, engaging in US-UK-Australia nuclear submarine cooperation, and implementing plans to deploy and provide land-based intermediate-range and short-range missiles to allies in the Asia-Pacific and Europe."
The statement also condemns "the United States' unconstructive and hostile 'dual containment' policy towards China and Russia": "The United States' actions of conducting joint exercises with its allies ostensibly aimed at China and Russia and taking steps to deploy land-based intermediate-range missiles in the Asia-Pacific region have raised serious concerns for both sides. The United States claims it will continue these practices with the ultimate goal of establishing routine missile deployments worldwide. Both sides strongly condemn these actions, which are extremely destabilizing to the region and pose a direct security threat to China and Russia, and will strengthen coordination and cooperation to respond to the United States' unconstructive and hostile 'dual containment' policy towards China and Russia."
On Asia-Pacific specifically they write that "both sides oppose the creation of exclusive and closed group structures in the Asia-Pacific region, especially military alliances targeting any third party. Both sides point out that the US "Indo-Pacific Strategy" and NATO's attempts to take destructive actions in the Asia-Pacific region have negative impacts on the peace and stability of the region."
They also "demand that the United States refrain from engaging in any biological military activities that threaten the security of other countries and regions" and they oppose the "use [of] outer space for armed confrontation and oppose the implementation of security policies and activities aimed at achieving military advantage and defining outer space as a 'combat domain.'"
Lastly the statement condemns "the US and its allies' deterrent actions in the military field, provoking confrontation with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and exacerbating tensions on the Korean Peninsula, potentially leading to armed conflict", and asks that "the United States and NATO, as the responsible parties for the 20-year invasion and occupation of Afghanistan, should not attempt to deploy military facilities in Afghanistan and its surrounding areas again but should bear primary responsibility for Afghanistan's current economic and livelihood difficulties, bear the main costs of Afghanistan's reconstruction, and take all necessary measures to unfreeze Afghanistan's national assets."
ENORMOUS EXPANSION OF CHINA-RUSSIA COLLABORATION This will be my last point, the statement has an immense list - dozens and dozens of items - of expanded cooperation fields between both countries.
These are some of the most important ones: - Military cooperation: "[both sides] will further deepen military mutual trust and cooperation, expand the scale of joint training activities, regularly organize joint maritime and air patrols, strengthen coordination and cooperation within bilateral and multilateral frameworks, and continuously improve the ability and level of jointly responding to risks and challenges." - More trade, mutual investments and help each other economic development: "continuously expand the scale of bilateral trade", "continuously improve the level of investment cooperation between the two countries", and "jointly develop advanced industries, strengthen technical and production cooperation, including in the civil aviation manufacturing industry, shipbuilding industry, automobile manufacturing industry, equipment manufacturing industry, electronics industry, metallurgical industry, iron ore mining industry, chemical industry, and forest industry" - Cooperation on energy: "consolidate the strategic cooperation in energy between China and Russia and achieve high-level development, ensuring the economic and energy security of the two countries. Strive to ensure the stability and sustainability of the international energy market, and maintain the stability and resilience of the global energy industry chain and supply chain." Also nuclear energy: "deepen cooperation in the field of civilian nuclear energy based on the experience of successful and ongoing projects, including thermonuclear fusion, fast neutron reactors, and closed nuclear fuel cycles" - Promote each others' currencies and financial infrastructure: "Increase the proportion of local currency in bilateral trade, financing, and other economic activities. Improve the financial infrastructure of the two countries, smooth the settlement channels between the two countries' business entities, strengthen regulatory cooperation in the banking and insurance industries of China and Russia, promote the sound development of banks and insurance institutions established in each other's countries, encourage two-way investment, and issue bonds in the financial markets of each other's countries in accordance with market principles." - Deep education and scientific cooperation: "promote the expansion and improvement of quality in mutual study abroad programs, advance Chinese language teaching in Russia and Russian language teaching in China, encourage educational institutions to expand exchanges, cooperation in running schools, conduct high-level talent joint training and scientific research, support cooperation in basic research fields between universities, support activities of alliances of similar universities and high schools, and deepen cooperation in vocational and digital education" - Cooperation in the media and shaping public opinions: "Strengthen media exchanges between the two countries, promote mutual visits at various levels, support pragmatic and professional dialogues, actively carry out high-quality content cooperation, deeply explore the cooperation potential of new media and new technologies in the field of mass media, objectively and comprehensively report major global events, and spread true information in the international public opinion field." - Cooperation within global institutions: "deepen bilateral cooperation [at] the UN General Assembly and the Security Council", "supporting the role of the World Health Organization", "strengthen cooperation within the WTO framework", "cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)", "uphold the BRICS spirit, enhance the BRICS mechanism's voice in international affairs and agenda", etc.
I could go on and on, the scale of the cooperation they detail is absolutely breathtaking, both countries are going all in with each other.
This statement is absolutely extraordinary and will likely shape the world for decades to come. We now have Russia and China explicitly stating they're all in with each other to bring about a new "equal and orderly multipolar world and the democratization of international relations", and put an end to US hegemonic behavior. No more pretend, it's happening.

2024.05.17 07:36 odonis How can I fix my logic, erudition, math problems?

I've been searching for recommendations on the best books and other resources on this and similar subreddits, checked the pinned megathread, but I’m still not sure what to pick.
Honestly, I'm not sure what my goal is. I've always struggled with math, and it's been a source of frustration my whole life. My parents hired a tutor when I was in middle and high school, but I still didn't do well, even after years of personal tutor once a week, my math grades were bad, huge contrast to the other school subjects.
In college, I was even EXPELLED due to a failed statistics class exam (three attempts in a row), I tried to get my bachelor’s in ‘crisis management’ and we had a math and statistic classes which killed me. I eventually got back and managed to get my poor degree, it’s been 10 years since then, but math won’t stop haunting me.
I still find it hard to calculate easy stuff in my head, like percentages or subtraction/addition, I need to use a pen and paper to visualize these calculations…
I have always been struggling with logic as well. Every time I try to learn something or get new skills, or simply watch a video on cosmos and other stuff I like that actually seems straightforward for many people, I fail to understand and have to ask my friends to explain it to me, which annoys them because to them it’s like fighting against a wall, I’m so bulletproof.
Of course I have ADHD like a typical person these days, it definitely contributes to my struggles, but I often think I’m just stupid. I've had to quit jobs due to my inability to understand math concepts, such as those in economics/business. Even Excel tables and formulas are my biggest enemies at any job.
When I play video games and check the content online, I'm shocked by the complex math involved in calculating damage multipliers and other game mechanics, content creators and the community always make these huge spreadsheets calculating everything possible and explaining it to a wider audience, but I never understand.
I try to take logic/erudition tests sometimes, but I fail miserably. I feel so vulnerable and pathetic. I don’t understand why it takes so long for me to ‘get it’, even when everyone does on a daily basis.
I want to try to change this. Even though there’s no college in my life anymore, no exams, I can’t ignore the math involvement in our daily life. What would you recommend for me to read/watch/listen to in my free time? Math has many categories, and I'm unsure where to start. It has a lot of categories, every book is, for instance, dedicated to applied math or discrete math, etc. Also, what level? For preschoolers? Lol.
Khan Academy only offers ‘trigonometry’ and ‘middle school statistics’ units, that’s it. At least in my language. It’s gonna be a bad idea to try learning math in a foreign language (Eng), I think, because I don’t know a single math term in English. I don’t want to complicate everything even futher.
As for books, YouTube channels and websites, everyone recommends a different one, so I'm unsure how to choose, there are too many. What section should I even choose? Algebra? Calculus? Statistics? Or even middle-school stuff? Btw, your calculus has a different structure from ours, like Calculus I, Calculus II, III. We had a different structure at school in my country, so I’m even more confused.
Some people suggest "Basic Mathematics" by Serge Lang, but others say it's not exactly ‘basic’ per se and might be a bit harsh for some idiots like me. Should I start with something more ‘pop’ like "The Joy of X"? Or to hell with it, just start math on Khan Academy in English, learning all the new vocabulary?
