2024.06.02 11:13 incyweb The algebra of happiness

For many years, I took the train to work. A fellow commuter (I’ll call her Jane) endlessly complained about the poor punctuation of the service. Jane was intent on claiming as much compensation as she could from the train operator. To that end, every day she recorded on a spreadsheet how late her trains were. She was due to go on holiday and asked if I would keep a note of delays during the week. Reluctantly, I agreed. When Jane returned from holiday, she asked me for an update. However, I had totally forgotten to keep a record. Rather than admit my oversight, I told her the trains had run perfectly on time through the week. It had never happened before. Jane, as you can image, was delighted. She did not ask me again. I often think, if I’m too happy then Jane could sort me out.

Variables of happiness

Happiness is often described as a state characterised by positive emotions, satisfaction and a sense of purpose. I know that happiness cannot be strictly defined as a mathematical formula. However, as an aging Mathematician, perhaps you will humour me. As in algebra, where variables represent unknown quantities, happiness is influenced by factors that interact in complex ways. Making positive changes in any aspect can have ripple effects. The variables of happiness include: Purpose, Relationships, Health, Gratitude, Growth and Resilience.

Purpose

The purpose of life is to enjoy the passage of time. - Jimmy Carr
Having a sense of purpose gives us direction and motivation. Whether it's through work, hobbies or other activities, aligning actions with our values and passions brings a profound sense of fulfilment.
I love seeing people use things I build. A combination of commercial and IT skills enabled me to develop a tool that significantly improves the way my corporate colleagues work.

Relationships

I am self-motivated and very happy working alone. That said, without my family and friends much of my drive and sense of purpose would diminish. Supporting my children and seeing them develop into amazingly talented adults is a huge pleasure. Strong relationships are crucial to my happiness.

Health

A healthy person wants a thousand things, a sick person only wants one. - Confucius
At age 35, when commuting home by train, I was convinced I was having a heart attack. At Reading station I sought help and an ambulance was called. At the scene, paramedics used an ECG to check my heart. I was then taken to the local hospital for further tests. After an overnight stay, I was told my heart was healthy and I could go home. Subsequently, I went to my GP who told me the likely cause of the pain was related to some DIY I had undertaken. Since that event, I have not taken my health for granted. Daily walks help me stay happy and healthy.

Gratitude, growth and resilience

Listening to the BBC Podcast A History of Britain in Numbers made me realise how lucky I am to have been born in a safe country in the 1960s. Central heating, showers, computers, mobile phones, social media, Wifi, the internet and AI. All things that enrich my life daily that my grandparents could hardly imagine.
I struggled at school. Maths and woodwork were the only things I was good at. In my 30s, I discovered books and embraced the idea of life long learning. I am working my way up Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. I am particularly enjoy learning new things and sharing my understanding with other, e.g. via this blog.
While incredibly fortunate, I have faced many setbacks, including redundancy and the death of my mum and a close friend. Pragmatic optimism and a supportive network helped me. I feel more resilient and grounded, having come through these challenges.

2024.06.02 11:12 PA99 The most insane argument I've ever had

u/tv-belg, https://www.reddit.com/Ayahuasca/comments/1d5ru3comment/l6ohqcj/

Only thing you really need to worry about is avoiding high tyramine food (aged, cured fermented food etc) to avoid headache so. The rest is based on various different dogmas and will vary by person to person.
The old school curanderos doesn’t really care

Is there any evidence that tyramine causes a headache with harmalas? As u/MapachoCura said, the MAOI diet only applies to irreversible MAOIs.* See this post for relevant quotes from medical literature: https://www.reddit.com/DMT/s/sY9fyOpx9V
However, as you can see, the info suggests that if a sufficient amt. of tyramine is consumed when on ayahuasca, the ayahuasca will actually be kicked out of your body.
*MAOIs that permanently bond with the body's enzymes, but the effect is not truly permanent, as the body replaces its enzymes every two weeks or something. This is why some medications require a 2-week wait period before switching to a different medication.

Its for the same reason tyramine food should be avoided with pharmaceutical MAOI, which are full MAOIs. In which case it’s potentially dangerous. Ayahuasca is reversible MAOIs, so its not dangerous but can indeed cause headaches and discomfort. Plenty literature on this (google, pubmed etc)
It has nothing to with the effect of Ayahuasca, its to do with MAO not breaking down tyramine potentially causing too much much tyramine.
After 100s of ceremonies i definitely notice a difference if i slack on low tyramine. Which i still sometimes do. But definitely not really dangerous.

Plenty literature on this (google, pubmed etc)
This says that they're wrong:
Note that RIMA stands for reversible inhibitor of MAO-A.
“Patients treated with moclobemide are at lower risk for hypertensive responses to TYR; moclobemide is a RIMA which can be displaced from MAO by higher concentrations of TYR and of NE released by TYR. This displacement restores the activity of MAO and allows it to catabolize TYR and released NE. The labeling for moclobemide carries warnings about ingesting high-TYR foods that are similar to those for irreversible MAOIs despite clear evidence in the literature that, with moclobemide doses of up to 900 mg/day, a TYR-restricted diet is not necessary (5,30).”
Pharmacist Toolkit: Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors. Rex Lott, PharmD, BCPP. Lincoln, NE: American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists, 2022 (Pharmacodynamic Interactions: Hypertensive Crisis. Interaction with Tyramine-Containing Food (“Cheese” Effect)) emphasis added

It is, unfortunately, necessary to state clearly from the beginning that much of what is published by doctors in books and journals about MAOIs is either poorly informed, or just plain wrong. As an example, much of the information that comes with MAOIs (the PI, or product information sheet) contains inaccurate material concerning, among other things: serotonin toxicity, drug interactions generally, and dietary tyramine.
MAOIs (Parnate, Nardil): Misconceptions and Questions No. 1. Ken Gillman, MD. PsychoTropical Research. Nov. 14, 2012

You may want to go back and read the full text of these papers you are referring to. Nothing here contradicts what i said, just discusses the level of danger for different kind of foods and medication

I posted the information that contradicts what you said in bold text!
clear evidence in the literature that, with moclobemide doses of up to 900 mg/day, a TYR-restricted diet is not necessary
(a tyramine-restricted diet is not necessary)

That doesn’t contradict what i said…

You said “tyramine food should be avoided”. The quoted statement means “you do not need to avoid tyramine”. Clear contradiction. Maybe you don't understand it because English isn't your first language...
The closest alternative to the quote is “... a diet that contains minimal tyramine is not necessary.”

Thats not actually what I said, but even if I did, it still doesn’t contradict 😉 Nothing in your articles or quotes contradict the well known scientific fact that MAO enzymes are responsible for breaking down tyramine. And that high tyramine levels can cause high BP and discomfort. And in some cases be dangerous.
I even stated it isn’t dangerous with Ayahuasca, but that it can definitely cause discomfort in many. Including me.
So yes, I still do recommend to avoid high tyramine food 2-3 days before ayahuasca to avoid unnecessary headaches day after.
What I actually wrote was “Only thing you really need to worry about is avoiding high tyramine food (aged, cured fermented food etc) to avoid headache”
In your next reply to you I also stated “Not dangerous”, but can definitely cause discomfort. Which it can.
Anyway, you do you 😗 But again you might want to properly read the papers you are quoting to understand the context and medical science behind.
My English comprehension is perfectly fine thanks.

Thats not actually what I said,
“Its for the same reason tyramine food should be avoided with pharmaceutical MAOI,”
Nothing in your articles or quotes contradict the well known scientific fact that MAO enzymes are responsible for breaking down tyramine.
Now you're just making things up, because I never said that anything said that. The first quote states that if one ingests tyramine when on moclobemide, the moclobemide is kicked out of the body, thus even when one is on moclobemide, the enzymes are still available to do their job. After that it states that one does not need to avoid tyramine on moclobemide because, indeed, moclobemide will not stop MAO from doing its job. So, there's no reason to avoid high tyramine foods, and one especially does not need to avoid them for 2-3 days in any case, that's just you imagining stuff...

Are you feeling ok there? Making things up. Dude, why are you trying to argue things you don’t understand?
Anyway, I’m out. Not my job to educate you.
“MAOIs prevent the breakdown of tyramine found in the body and certain foods, drinks, and other medications. Patients that take MAOIs and consume tyramine-containing foods or drinks will exhibit high serum tyramine level.”
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK539848/#:~:text=MAOIs%20prevent%20the%20breakdown%20of,exhibit%20high%20serum%20tyramine%20level.

That statement is an overgeneralizition. It only applies to irreversible MAOIs.
“moclobemide is a RIMA which can be displaced from MAO by higher concentrations of TYR and of NE released by TYR. This displacement restores the activity of MAO and allows it to catabolize TYR and released NE.”

🔗Realistic Bear 3D Archery Target for Affordable Practice

https://preview.redd.it/uxi74xtik44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7993e6f6b6d178ab152c7af202c31b3a4c6b6d47
As an archery enthusiast, I recently had the opportunity to test out the Shooter 3D Archery Targets - Bear. This 3D target was not only visually impressive with its realistic design, but also proved to be quite durable with its solid body design. While shooting with my recurve bow, I noticed that the target could withstand the impact of my arrows, despite a few passing through slightly.
The target also came with two metal poles for easy setup and ground stakes, which kept it securely in place during my practice sessions. However, one drawback was that the target didn't seem to perform as well with heavier arrows or higher draw weights. For these reasons, I would recommend the Shooter 3D Archery Targets - Bear to those using lighter setups and practicing at close distances.

🔗High-Quality Crossbow Buck Target for Accurate Hunting Practice

https://preview.redd.it/qkanrdnjk44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cc28becc8f1b694d2648fa6513dcaec5eda7e7d2
I recently got my hands on the Glendel Crossbow Buck Target, and I have to say, I was impressed. The 3D buck design is so lifelike that it feels like I'm practicing on a real deer. With its long-lasting, replaceable vitals insert, I don't have to worry about my shots wearing down the target too quickly. The PolyFusion core not only makes it easier to remove arrows but also extends the life of the target, saving me money in the long run.
On the downside, I did encounter a few issues. The offset shooting zones sometimes obscure the vitals, making it harder to practice those critical shots. And, as mentioned by some reviewers, the target didn't arrive in the best condition, with one even having to put it in the trash due to flimsy construction.
Overall, the Glendel Crossbow Buck Target is a great product for those looking to up their archery game. With its realistic design and durable construction, it's a worthwhile investment for any hunter or archery enthusiast.

🔗AR500-Comparable Steel Deer Target for Shooting Practice

https://preview.redd.it/148y60wjk44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e65c06aa5e0eb789e1b34e8f729917aba236ec10
As a dedicated hunter, I've been seeking the perfect deer target to improve my shooting skills. The Champion Target Impact Steel Deer Target caught my eye with its life-like deer design and tough, durable construction. The AR500-comparable steel build promised to withstand countless rounds, and the vibrant orange powder-coat made it easy to spot from afar.
Setup and maintenance were a breeze, thanks to the sturdy hanging hole. However, even though it's designed to take a beating, the noise it made was quite jarring.
Nonetheless, if you're looking to sharpen your shooting skills, this target is a reliable and visible choice.

🔗Indoor Archery Practice Life-Size Deer Target

As I was out in my backyard practicing my archery skills, I stumbled upon the Delta McKenzie Big Daddy Buck Target. It was easy to set up and the vibrant brown color made it stand out in the greenery. The most impressive feature was the universal scoring on one side and vitals on the other, making it ideal for both hunting and tournament preparation.
In my first shot, I was pleasantly surprised by the 100% self-healing foam that allowed me to easily remove the arrows without any damage to the target. However, the first arrow didn't quite hit the mark, and I noticed that the foam wasn't as stable as I would have hoped. I reached out to Delta McKenzie's customer service and they promptly sent a replacement at no additional cost, which resolved the issue.
The Big Daddy Buck Target was truly a lifesaver during my archery competitions, and its durable construction helped me feel confident in my shots. However, the foam wasn't as sturdy as I would have hoped, which is a minor inconvenience that I had to overcome during my practice sessions.
Overall, the Delta McKenzie Big Daddy Buck Target is a fantastic product that provides excellent realism and durability for archery enthusiasts. Its large size and 100% self-healing foam make it a valuable addition to any backyard archery range, but its foam stability could be improved for even better performance.

🔗Foam Deer Target with Locking Antlers

https://preview.redd.it/0wneuxvkk44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0844a91bc0e125c58bc30a347e250f9cbb41f6c3
As a hunter and target practice enthusiast, I've always been in search of a realistic target that truly resembles my quarry. The Rinehart Woodland Big Jim Insert caught my eye with its lifelike sculpturing and airbrush detailing. Standing at 48 inches tall and 40 inches long, this target feels just right for my living room setup.
One of the aspects I particularly appreciate about this target is the locking antler feature, allowing me to use my own set of antlers if desired. Its solid FX Woodland foam construction ensures durability and resistance against harsh weather, making it a reliable choice for year-round practice.
However, I've also noticed that the Signature Series foam core, which is replaceable, has a tendency to wear out faster than I would have liked. Additionally, the target seems slightly heavier than expected, at 5.14 pounds.
Despite these minor setbacks, the Rinehart Woodland Big Jim Insert provides a realistic and sturdy target for both compound and crossbow shots, and its replaceable core adds a touch of convenience. Overall, it's a worthy investment for any avid hunter or target practice aficionado.

🔗GlenDel Pre-Rut Buck Target Replacement Core for Longlasting Deer Targets

https://preview.redd.it/etsndbalk44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f64ffc9396c1d77bf39aba05c32f1443c775a73c
I recently had the chance to try the Glendel Pre Rut Buck Target Replacement Core, and I have to say, it was quite the experience. The open layered polyfusion technology definitely made a difference in the target's ability to withstand a multitude of arrows.
One of the most impressive features was the replaceable insert for longer target life. I was able to shoot a variety of deer without any issues, and it was clear that the product was designed with durability in mind. The 4-sided core made it easy to prepare for a variety of shooting angles, ensuring I had plenty of chances to practice.
However, there were a couple of drawbacks to note. The stakes that came with the target were a little too short, so I ended up having to make a quick modification. The product also came with some minor aesthetic defects, but considering it was a target, it wasn't a major concern.
Overall, I was quite pleased with my experience using the Glendel Pre Rut Buck Target Replacement Core. While it had its pros and cons, the positives definitely outweighed the negatives, making it a great choice for any archery enthusiast looking to practice their shooting skills.

🔗Big Buck Target Replacement Insert for 3-D Archery

https://preview.redd.it/d9gmocqlk44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5794a039a9c59d16aba93476ec9ff09527cf4e0b
As a passionate archery enthusiast, I recently got my hands on the Shooter 72200 Big Buck Replacement Core Insert. This replacement insert is designed to extend the life of my Big Shooter Buck 3D Target, a thrilling and valuable addition to any archery setup.
One of the standout features of this insert is its large size - it's much bigger than the standard 3D target inserts out there. This extra space makes it a breeze to remove arrows with minimal hassle, allowing me to continue practicing and improving my skills without any unnecessary interruptions.
However, there have been a few challenges I encountered with the Shooter 72200. For instance, I sometimes find that the insert is slightly loose, making it difficult to maintain a steady and accurate shooting angle. This loose fit can be frustrating when trying to perfect my shot.
Additionally, while the product is advertised as "Made in the USA, " I couldn't help but feel that the quality could have been better for the price. There have been instances when I've needed to replace parts, and the overall durability of the product could be improved to provide better value for money.
In conclusion, the Shooter 72200 Big Buck Replacement Core Insert is a useful tool for anyone looking to extend the life of their 3D target. Though it does have minor drawbacks, the pros outweigh the cons, making it a worthwhile investment for any target shooter.

🔗EZ-Aim Four Color Whitetail Paper Target for Shooting Practice

https://preview.redd.it/ggz5xg0mk44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fc221c364304b1212bfc1112dcbb61f7615cd686
I remember the first time I tried out the Ezaim Four Color Whitetail Paper Target. It was a sunny day, and I was in the mood for some target practice with my rifle. When I unfolded the target, I was impressed by the life-like image of the deer, which made it feel more like a real hunt rather than just practice.
The target had multiple bullseyes, offering different points of aim for shooters like me who like to challenge themselves with accurate shooting. I found the target's ability to crumble and flake upon impact to be quite satisfying, as it symbolized the successful hit.
One downside, however, was that the target was quite large and cumbersome to store, especially when folded. I wished there was a more compact storage solution for this great product.
Overall, though, the Ezaim Four Color Whitetail Paper Target was a fantastic addition to my target-shooting routine. It offered versatility, realism, and the satisfaction of seeing my targets disintegrate upon impact. Its only drawback was the inconvenience of storage, but that was a minor issue when compared to the joy it brought to my target practice.

Buyer's Guide

Welcome to the Buyer's Guide for Deer Targets. In this section, we will discuss the essential features, considerations, and general advice for choosing the right deer target. Let's dive into the world of deer hunting and find the perfect target to enhance your sporting experience.

Materials and Durability

https://preview.redd.it/cv2x3gemk44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=949736899375b40edb68f8cfa5b739e40b581cca
When selecting a deer target, it is essential to consider the materials used in its construction. High-density foam is a popular choice as it provides a realistic texture and absorbs bullets effectively. Other materials, such as rubber, can offer similar benefits. Ensure that the target can withstand multiple uses and withstand the elements, such as exposure to rain, snow, and sunlight.

Target Size and Shape

The size and shape of the deer target play a vital role in its accuracy and usability. Standard deer targets are often 18 inches long and have 5-point targeting systems to help hunters aim accurately. Opt for a target that closely resembles real deer to foster realistic shooting experiences. You may also consider selecting a model featuring three-dimensional features that simulate the actual deer's anatomy and provide extra challenge to your shooting skills.

Ease of Setup and Portability

A deer target's ease of setup and portability are crucial factors to consider, particularly if you plan to transport it frequently. Look for targets that are lightweight and come equipped with quick-tie straps, stakes, or mounts. This will allow you to set up the target quickly, making it easier for you to practice or participate in friendly shooting competitions with fellow hunters.

https://preview.redd.it/l3vzja4nk44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bc7e01492d6d683c4d51c9187fe08d48dfda2347

Price and Value

When purchasing a deer target, it is essential to weigh the price against the value it provides. Although it is tempting to opt for a lower-cost model, investing in a high-quality target offers long-term benefits in the form of durability, realism, and ease of use. Consider the target's intended use and the desired level of challenge it offers. Balancing these factors can help you select a target that provides the best value for your money.

Additional Features and Accessories

Some deer targets may offer additional features, such as integrated scoring systems or built-in target stands. Accessories, such as replacement parts or practice rounds, can also be valuable considerations. Research the target models you are interested in and ensure they have the features and accessories that suit your needs.

https://preview.redd.it/dm184exnk44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=21cd8f363be7a4ec6d0ae9543950d8bde3e132ee

What materials are deer targets typically made from?

How many deer targets should I buy for my shooting practice?

The number of deer targets you need depends on the type of practice you plan to do. If you only plan to practice shooting at one angle or distance, one target should suffice. However, if you want to practice from different angles and distances, it's best to buy multiple targets to simulate different deer positions.

What are the benefits of using deer targets for hunting practice?

Using deer targets for hunting practice has several benefits. First, it helps improve your accuracy and aim when shooting at live animals. Second, it allows you to practice in a controlled and safe environment without risking injury to yourself or damage to property. Finally, it helps you become more confident in your shooting abilities, which can improve your overall hunting success.

Are deer targets suitable for all types of hunting?

Deer targets are primarily designed for practicing shooting at deer-sized objects. However, they can also be used for practicing shooting at other types of game, such as elk or moose. Just make sure the target is suitable for archery use and that you follow all safety guidelines when using it.

How should I store my deer targets when not in use?

When storing your deer targets, make sure to keep them in a dry and protected area to prevent damage from the elements. Finally, make sure the targets are stored in a way that prevents them from being damaged by other objects or animals.

What are some safety tips to follow when using deer targets?

When using deer targets, make sure to follow all safety guidelines to prevent injury or damage. This includes wearing proper safety gear, such as gloves and eye protection, and ensuring that the target is securely positioned and properly set up.

2024.06.02 11:08 incyweb The algebra of happiness

Having a sense of purpose gives us direction and motivation. Whether it's through work, hobbies or other activities, aligning actions with our values and passions brings a profound sense of fulfilment.

https://preview.redd.it/u6670ongi44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c67915fd8144c0ebc891d7a368ab77b2413679b9
Hanging a deer is never an easy task, but with the HME Game Hanging Gambrel, it becomes a breeze. This heavy-duty hanger is built to last with its 3/8' formed hanger that is fully welded and gusseted for added strength. The special hook design makes hanging the deer an effortless process, and its olive powder coat finish not only looks great, but also adds a layer of protection against rust.
One of the highlights of this product is its impressive 500 lbs. weight capacity. It truly is a heavy-duty tool, capable of handling even the largest game with ease. The 3/8 heavy-duty steel construction adds to its durability, ensuring it will stand the test of time.
However, there are a few aspects of the HME Game Hanging Gambrel that could use some improvement. Some users mentioned that it could be a couple of inches wider, which might make it more comfortable to use. Additionally, others noted that the hooks are upturned, which is a handy feature for keeping the carcass sides on the hook after sawing in half.
Overall, the HME Game Hanging Gambrel is a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable and sturdy deer hanger. Its unique features and high weight capacity make it a top pick among users, and the affordable price is an added bonus. With its great build quality and user-friendly design, this gambrel will surely become an essential tool for those who process their own game.

🔗Golden Deer Hook: Timeless Versatility for Any Room

https://preview.redd.it/o44rj2bhi44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=01af28268edaa6f87bfc26eedd75a1e3b8d0ccdd
When I stumbled upon the Gold Metal Deer Hook, I immediately found an elegant solution for my home's decor with a touch of rustic charm. Its minimalistic design allowed it to easily blend in with my existing wall decor, while still making a statement with its sleek gold texture.
As someone who often finds themselves searching for my keys or wallet, the hook's convenient accessibility made it the perfect addition to my entryway. Despite its small size, the durability of the metal held up well over time, proving that less is truly more in terms of style and functionality.

🔗Wildlife-Inspired Wooden Wall Coat Rack

https://preview.redd.it/gp6gllshi44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=78cdb59cdacb484c23c4c50711be339a7e7c55df
The Deer Antler Wall Coat Rack is a modern piece of wildlife-inspired decor that has the potential to add unique style and practicality to any living space. This handmade wooden wall rack features five hooks for hanging coats, hats, and keys with the maximum load weight of 20 pounds. The sturdy black wooden base is perfect for mounting on a wall without any damage, thanks to the 3M glue (double-sided tape) included at the back of each hook.
One of its most attractive features is its small packaging dimensions, making it easy to store when not in use and travel-friendly. However, this also means that it might take up more space than you initially anticipated when it arrives. Despite its dimensions, the product feels solid and well-constructed, but the wood color is only available in black, which may not work with all home decor styles.

🔗Easy Load & Swivel 360-degree Deer Hanger

https://preview.redd.it/1764iisii44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fbb7abe440a715d9a19e2b34f96454732cf7726e
I have used the Guide Gear Deluxe Deer Hoist Lift System for a few hunting seasons now, and I must say, it has significantly improved my experience in the field. The system allows me to access and hang my game without any hassle, making the entire process efficient and less time-consuming. The swivel system is a standout feature that makes it easy to position my game in the bed of my truck.
One notable advantage of using this deer hoist is its ability to handle up to 300 pounds with ease. It has a strong and sturdy construction, made of heavy-duty steel, which ensures longevity and durability. Furthermore, it's portable, which means I can easily disassemble the components when I need to transport or store it.
However, there are a couple of things I would like to mention as minor drawbacks. While the installation process is straightforward, the provided crank can be a bit challenging to use, particularly when dealing with the weightier game. Additionally, the hitch system doesn't always stay firmly in place, which might make the task a tad more complicated.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the Guide Gear Deluxe Deer Hoist Lift System has proven to be quite reliable. With a 4.4 rating and 420 reviews praising its capabilities, it's clear that the system has made a significant positive impact on the hunting experience for many users. Overall, I would highly recommend this hoist to anyone looking for an efficient, simple, and affordable way to handle their game in the field.

🔗Rustic Deer Head-Shaped Vintage Cast Iron Hooks for Coats and Towels

With these Isoto Deer Head-shaped Wall Hooks in my home, I've transformed my space into a stylish farmhouse. The vintage design adds a touch of rustic charm to any room. They're perfectly suited for entryways, hallways, foyers, bathrooms, mudrooms, or any place with limited storage.
Made of high-quality cast iron, these hooks are heavy-duty and can handle coats, bags, hats, or even towels and robes. The installation process is simple; you'll receive 4 mounting screws and expansion nails connectors.
Each hook measures around 11 by 7 by 16 cm and weighs about 365 grams. Purchase two of these charming deer head-shaped hooks, and get ready to elevate your living space with an elegantly rustic touch.

🔗Rustic Bronze Deer Christmas Wreath Hanger

Recently, I added a touch of rustic charm to my front door with the Northlight 15.25 in. Rustic Bronze Deer Christmas Wreath Hanger. The intricate deer with antlers design was an instant hit, adding a unique and elegant appearance to my door. The one-sided design made it easy to hang, with the large hook securing the hanger with ease. I loved the fact that it was not only a practical solution for hanging my wreath but also a statement piece of its own.
While I was initially excited about this wreath hanger, I did encounter a minor issue with the lack of hardware provided to secure the deer head into the wreath holder. This resulted in a wreath hanging that looked a little incomplete. On the positive side, the hanger was sturdy and simple to hang, and it looked fantastic on my door. In conclusion, with few improvements addressing the missing hardware, this Northlight wreath hanger can become a beautiful and functional addition to any front door.

🔗Pewter Finish Adjustable Deer Hanger Set

https://preview.redd.it/agh3er1ki44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d17a49fe9b0335ee307fbfe0567e9f886ed8f4fd
Recently, I tried the Deer Sword Hanger and fell in love with it. The 2-inch closed length and adjustable feature allows me to display various items on my wall without taking up too much space.
I appreciate the pewter finish, which gives it an antique touch that adds charm to any décor. However, I noticed that the hanger might be a bit difficult to mount for some users due to its sturdiness. Overall, the Deer Sword Hanger is a great addition to any room, and its versatility makes it a must-have in my home.

🔗Stylish Deer Antler Wall Coat Rack for Key Holders and Accessories

https://preview.redd.it/w8bfn4iki44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=86f09c337a413c24dba4929df56f6321a3fa142e
As a reviewer, I recently came across the KingLive Deer Antler Wall Coat Rack and decided to give it a try. Upon seeing this unique piece of décor in my home, my friends couldn't help but wonder how functional it was. To put it to the test, I decided to hang my winter jacket, a couple of scarves, and some kitchen utensils on its five metal hooks. Sure enough, the rack handled the weight with ease, living up to its high load capacity.
The stylish deer antler design not only adds a wild touch to my living space, but also serves as a conversation piece for my guests. Installing the KingLive Deer Antler Wall Coat Rack was a breeze, thanks to its adhesive backing, which securely fastened it to my wall without causing any damage.
While the KingLive Deer Antler Wall Coat Rack is durable and lightweight, I did find that the metal hooks could occasionally be tricky to maneuver when trying to hang heavier objects. However, this minor inconvenience is outweighed by the functional design and aesthetic appeal. All in all, I'm quite pleased with my experience using this coat rack.

🔗Deer Head Resin Wall Hook, Safari-Inspired Decor, Keyhole for Hanging

https://preview.redd.it/h4gh0dwki44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0f8d33a65c9038ac5b5c8eeda14a993f56228ed5
I recently came across the HERNGEE Deer Head Single Wall Hook as a unique and practical addition to my space. Made from non-toxic resin, this eco-friendly hook adds a rustic charm to any room, making it perfect for decorating a children's room or adding a safari theme to any area.
The sturdy construction also makes it versatile, allowing me to use it as a coat hook, hat hook, or even a jewelry hook. Although it doesn't come with any hangings, the attractive deer head design still makes for a stunning wall art piece, even without any items hung on it.
The presence of a keyhole on the back allows for secure hanging, while the size of the hook (6.7"H x 7.5"W x 4"D) adds a touch of elegance to any room. The HERNGEE Deer Head Single Wall Hook is available in various animal designs, including rhino, horse, elephant, sheep, giraffe, and deer, offering a wide range of options to suit individual preferences and spaces. All in all, this eco-friendly and versatile hook has become a welcome addition to my home.

Recently, I gave the BestAlice 8 Pcs European Deer Skull Hanger a try and was pleasantly surprised. This hanger is perfect for adding a touch of elegance and style to any room, and it's incredibly easy to use.
What stood out to me was the antler-shaped design, which not only adds a decorative touch but also provides practical use by hanging clothes or hats. The heavy-duty steel construction was another highlight – it's reliable, stable, and can easily handle the weight without any deformation.
Assembling and removing the hanger was a breeze, with the included screws and expansion bolts making the process effortless. Plus, the variety of places it can be used, from bedrooms to offices, adds to its versatility.

I recently gave these rustic deer head hooks a try, and I have to say, they've become a staple in my living space. The vintage finish adds a touch of flair to any room, and the antler design truly stands out. Mounting them on the wall was a breeze, thanks to the included screw.
They're versatile too - great for hanging keys, towels, or even coats. However, while the cast iron is durable, it's also quite heavy, so be mindful when placing them. Overall, a great addition to any room, but handle with care.

🔗Quality Deer Head Brass Gun Hanger

https://preview.redd.it/vb9dlu2mi44d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=387eb278f1aa310c746f48ed3c389c300cfa3638
I recently had the opportunity to try out the Deer Head Hanger Brass, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer for gun enthusiasts and collectors. The first thing that stood out to me was its solid brass construction, which not only adds a touch of elegance to my gun display but also provides durability.
One of the most convenient features of this hanger is its ability to securely hold guns with diameters up to 1.5 inches. The spring-loaded design effortlessly expands to accommodate various firearm sizes, making it a versatile addition to my collection.
However, I did notice that the Deer Head Hanger Brass might not be the best option for those looking for a minimalist décor piece. Its ornate design could potentially clash with simpler home interiors.
In conclusion, the Deer Head Hanger Brass is a high-quality, stylish, and functional addition to any gun enthusiast's collection. While it might not be the most understated option, its exceptional performance and construction make it a worthwhile purchase.

🔗Authentic 10 Point Buck Deer Wall Hanger

I recently had the chance to try out the Ebros 10 Point Buck Deer Bust Wall Hook Hanger. It's a true masterpiece for any hunter's game room or trophy space. Standing at a height of around 8.75 inches tall, it not only adds decorative appeal, but also doubles as a functional hook.
Crafted from designer composite resin, the wall hook is beautifully hand-painted and polished, although be prepared that the color tone might vary slightly. It's a great addition to mud rooms and entryways, and a perfect conversation starter when guests come over. However, I'd recommend anchoring the screw to hang it for a more secure fit.
All in all, the Ebros Bronzed 10 Point Buck Deer Bust Wall Hook Hanger truly captures the essence of a hunting trophy, making it an invaluable addition to your home décor.

🔗Deer Hoist and Carrier: 600 lb. Capacity, Hitch-Mounted for Efficient Hunting

As a hunter, I've always been on the lookout for gear that makes my life easier. The Kill Shot Hitch-Mounted Deer Hoist and Carrier is one of those gems. It's a two-in-one tool that saves both time and space in my truck bed. When it comes to dressing or skinning game, this hitch-mounted deer hoist and carrier is a game-changer. Not only does it allow me to string up the animal, but it also rotates flat to create a cradled transport for my game. I don't have to swap out the hoist for a carrier when I'm ready to bring my deer home - a major time saver.
The Kill Shot is made from durable, powder-coated steel and supports up to 600 lbs. It attaches to 2-inch hitch receivers, and rotating from hoist to carrier position is as simple as flipping a locking pin. The manual crank winch comes with a strap and snap hook, making it easy to use.
However, there are a couple of things I think could be improved. Firstly, the strap could be a couple of feet longer, making it more versatile. Secondly, the crank winch tends to get full of mud and dirt, which can be a bit of a hassle to clean out.
Overall, this is a great product that has definitely made a difference in my hunting experience. I would highly recommend the Kill Shot Hitch-Mounted Deer Hoist and Carrier to any fellow hunter looking to make their life a bit easier in the field.

2024.06.02 10:58 incyweb The algebra of happiness

The Phoenix Contact 2800491 Surge Suppressors have been a game-changer in my daily life. These handy little devices offer superior λ/4 technology, acting as a protective shield for all my coaxial signal interfaces. I've found they're incredibly efficient and provide protection up to a peak surge current of 6 kA.
The unit is designed with a male/female SMA connector, which allows for seamless connectivity. It also houses a neat SMA plug at the end. However, make sure you have a bit of extra room, as the width measures up to 47mm. Don't worry about depth or height though, they're quite compact at 70mm x 25mm.
Despite being powerful little protectors, they're quite easy to install and maintain. The unit comes with IP55 degree of protection, which means you don't have to worry about it getting wet from a splash of liquid. It also has a pretty nifty mounting type, making it easy to pop in wherever needed.
So, if you're looking for reliable surge suppression while maintaining a neat and tidy setup, the Phoenix Contact 2800491 Surge Suppressors are just the ticket.

I recently tried out the APC ProtectNet, a standalone analog/DSL phone line surge protector, and I must say it's been a reliable protectant for my phone line and Internet connection. This sleek device, measuring 47mm in width, 28mm in depth, and 103mm in height, is a simple yet effective solution for safeguarding my components.

In conclusion, the APC ProtectNet has been a trustworthy companion in protecting my device from potential damage caused by power surges. Apologize to the tech gods, the SurgerArrest 3-Phase Surge Suppressor from APC is here to save our sensitive electronics. I've been using it daily for a couple of weeks, and I must say, this is one heck of a device.
One of the first things I noticed was the Protection Working Indicator. It's a small, reassuring light that keeps me calm knowing my data is being well-protected against all those invisible electric dangers lurking around the corner. This device has made me more aware of the potential risks my electronics face on a daily basis. Just think how many devices in our daily lives could use a product like this!
Then there's the Surge Counter. It's a simple mechanism that counts how many times it's stopped an electrical surge, giving me a tangible measure of how hard it's working to keep my electronics safe. It's like an invisible knight in digital armor, silently standing guard over my data, ready for action whenever needed.
However, it's also the features I can't see that got me excited. For example, the APC SurgeArrest 3-Phase has a NEMA 312 enclosure, which means it's designed to withstand harsh industrial environments. And don't forget the Thermal Overload Protection. It's like having a built-in thermal safety valve that releases heat build-up before it can cause a damaging fire.
My use of this product has definitely made me more aware of the importance of proper electrical surge protection in our sensitive data-driven world, and the SurgerArrest 3-Phase Surge Suppressor has been the unsung hero among my daily gadgets.

I recently tried using the SurgeArrest from APC as part of my daily routine, and I must say it's been a game-changer. With its sleek NEMA 312 enclosure, it fits perfectly in my outdoor or indoor setup, making it incredibly versatile for all sorts of situations. The thermal overload protection has been a lifesaver—it's like this little hero that steps in when my MOVs need help, saving my equipment from untimely damage.
But there's one standout feature that has impressed me the most: the Protection Working Indicator. There's just something reassuring about knowing exactly what the SurgeArrest is up to, and being able to remotely monitor its TVSS alarm status. It's like having my own surveillance system for my electronics!
The only thing that gave me a bit of a jolt was the Audible failure alarm, which seemed a little alarming at first. But once I understood it served as an indication of a damaged surge suppressor, it became part of my new routine. It's a small price to pay for peace of mind, wouldn't you agree?
Lastly, I was ecstatic to realize that the SurgeArrest was designed with energy conservation in mind, saving me a few bucks in the long run. All in all, it's been a fulfilling experience using the APC SurgeArrest, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I recently used the Ubiquiti IS-M5-US 5 GHz IsoStation Airmax, a pole-mountable wireless access point that offers excellent performance and precision. The key feature I loved is the interchangeable horn antennas, which allowed for easy customization and enhanced beam shaping. Changing the antennas was as simple as pressing a single button, and the all-metal construction provided durability.

I had the chance to test out the APC SuregeArrest Notebook Surge Suppressor, and I must say, it's a game-changer for protecting your valuable electronics. The compact design made it a breeze to carry around with my laptop and connected devices, offering a sense of security wherever I traveled.
One of the features that stood out was its versatile connectivity options. Not only did it include telephone cables, but it also came equipped with a network patch cable, ensuring that all my devices could make the most of the surge protection. The included cord management straps kept everything neat and tangle-free, giving me a tidy setup.
The surge suppression capabilities were top-notch, thanks to the Catastrophic Event Protection and the Let Through Voltage Rating of under 900V. With industry-standard certifications from CSA FCC Part 68 NOM and UL 1449, I felt assured that my devices were in good hands.
The status indicator was another highlight, as it allowed me to quickly check the surge protection status, giving me peace of mind that my valuable tech was always safe from power surges. All in all, the APC SuregeArrest Notebook Surge Suppressor proved to be a reliable and effective solution for safeguarding my electronic devices on the go.

The APC SurgeArrest surge suppressor has been my trusty sidekick for months now. In all my daily interactions with appliances and electronics, it has been the unsung hero, diligently guarding them from potential power surges and spikes. The lightweight surge protectors are designed to work without fail and that's precisely what they've done. They've got these handy individual phase modules that, when needed, can be replaced without having to unplug a bunch of devices. The whole process literally takes minutes and it's a feature I've grown to appreciate greatly.
But what's really impressive is the surge counter feature. It logs the number of power surges the unit is exposed to and honestly, I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. It feels like a little radar that's been tucked away somewhere, unobtrusively tracking incoming power surges like a digital sentinel.
Then there's this incredible feature, the audible failure alarm. It's almost like having your own personal security guard. If the surge protector takes a hit, it emits a loud alarm. It's a real life saver because let's face it, I've been known to forget about the surge protector and just leave it in the background. But not anymore, because this alarm literally ensures it's on the top of my mind.
It's also interesting to note the NEMA 3R / 12 enclosure. It's specifically designed to meet the requirements of both indoor and outdoor applications, which is quite handy because it means the surge protector can work in any environment without any issues.
But of course, there's the downside. The manual disconnect switch is a useful feature, but it means that sometimes, when I need to temporarily unplug something, I have to remember to manually press the switch. It's like the surge protector is asking me for permission before I can unplug it, which can be a bit of a hassle at times. There's also the alarm contacts, which, while useful for monitoring, can also be a bit overwhelming at times. It's like being constantly tied to the surge protector, even when I don't necessarily need to be.
Overall though, the APC SurgeArrest surge suppressor is a reliable device that has helped me keep my appliances and electronics safe from the potential dangers of power surges and spikes. It's not perfect, but it sure is worth having on your side in this digital age where we heavily rely on electronics.

Imagine using a lightning arrester in your daily life, like the Phoenix Contact 2905415 Surge Suppressor. In my experience, it made my power supply network much safer. One of the best features was the mechanical coding of the base element and plug, which prevented incorrect assembly.
I also found the labelling option for the protective plug and terminals on the base element extremely useful. Plus, having two biconnect terminals each for N and PE made connecting round conductors and wiring bridges easier than ever.
However, there were a couple of downsides. The device was a bit large at 95.2 x 71.2 x 74.5mm, making it less convenient for smaller spaces. Also, the surge suppressor could get quite hot with a maximum operating temperature of +80°C.
Overall, the Phoenix Contact 2905415 Surge Suppressor is a reliable choice for protecting your power supply network from lightning currents, as long as you've got the space for it and can handle the heat.

I recently tried out the Ubiquiti PrismStation AC PS-5AC, a 5GHz 14dBi CPE with a removable horn antenna, and I must say it's a game-changer for wireless connections. The focus on directing RF energy in a tighter beamwidth and filtering noise has significantly improved my network's performance and stability.
One of my favorite features is the flexibility in sectorization for optional antenna beamwidths, making it suitable for various deployment environments. The interchangeable horn antenna also enhances beam-shaping, ensuring the best coverage for my area.
However, one downside I encountered was the potential need for additional accessories, like the Aem5 Suppressor, for some specific deployment situations. Overall, I'm happy with the improvement in noise immunity and impressed with the Ubiquiti PrismStation AC's performance thus far.

I've been using the ABB RT5/32 Surge Suppressor for a while now, and let me tell you, it's made a world of difference in my work area. This 12-32V DC operated device protects against power surges that could potentially fry any sensitive electronics. It's designed to work with various contactors, like AL, AE, TAL, and TAE models.
One of the best features is how it seamlessly blends into the background. Its sleek, compact design keeps it unobtrusive whilst offering top-notch protection. However, one thing I'd change is the minimum order quantity - it's a bit high for personal use.
Overall, the ABB RT5/32 Surge Suppressor has proven to be a reliable and protective addition to my setup. It's a small investment with big payoffs.

I've stopped taking Zoloft about a month ago, after taking 50mg for about 8 months. I've gradually tapered according to my doctor's instructions. However, i'm feeling the old feelings of depression again. Losing interest in everday activities and insomnia due to constant ruminaton. In your experience, are these symptoms temporary? Because I'm seriosly considering going back on them, 'cause i did not have any negative side effects while taking them.

My version of FNaF characters for an AU I'm making (CONSTRUCTIVE criticism welcome)
Withered Bonnie
Normal bonnie
I made the original and then use it as a base to be able to make the withered variant, this goes for the withered chica that i had made.
The entire AU premise was based on some of the AUs gacha kids made were glitchtrap and William are separate people, they are in this however glitchtrap is now henry and henry is constantly painting himself as a victim, he wanted to do the remnant experiments himself and got William to do the killing for him up until he killed Charlie, of which then he starts causing his kids death.
There are still some kinks in the story that i need to straighten out. I've snipped all the images since i felt as if they are too big in their screenshot form, I'll give updates whenever i feel like it or something.
Spring bonnie or something idk
this is like one of the earliest redesigns/drawings, its why the lines are so thick and actually has a body, also coloured.
Withered Chica
there was this one twitter post that gave me the idea to redraw withered chica first, trust me huge mistake, it looked awful, i have said before that i draw the original first and then witherfy it after.
Normal chica
I do sorta apologise for the massive watermarks but 1 its so you know I've made this and its to also kinda protect my art from thieves, i don't share this name anywhere else so if this is posted under the same name on a place like twitter then that ain't me.
There's a lot of lore changes in the AU for example fire doesn't release souls so when henry burns down all of the buildings it doesn't do anything and he knows it, he's just hiding evidence or something, for the souls to be able to be released and move on they need someone to replace their prison, i will go more in depth what i mean by this at some point, maybe next update post about redesigns.
Vanny is still gonna be a victim of glitchtrap, that isn't changing, There's an after effect from after being released as a victim of glitchtrap and that's the fear of looking anything in the eyes and their whole world view being distorted.
This is all I'm sharing as of right now, but i will answer to any questions you have about this and i will try interact with any criticisms and recommendations you have.

2024.06.02 10:32 Barking_Kitty June 28 is index reconstitution day. Which names are you playing

We’re likely to see added liquidity and volume in the names being added to the index, leading up to the reconstitution day on June 28. ETF’s that track the index need to buy the underlying stocks to track the index effectively. This leads to added liquidity in some stocks that were previously illiquid.
I’m playing $ROOT for its low float low volume and its undervalued price relative to its strong fundamentals - any added volume and liquidity will cause impact on this one for sure🔥
Which names are you guys playing?
If you don’t know what I’m talking about just look up June 28 index reconstitution day

2024.06.02 10:27 Vast_Honey1533 Sometimes things don't make sense

So I was just thinking, how I used to smoke lots of weed, do other drugs regularly, nothing too hard but still did stuff, took steroids, drank often. I felt absolutely fine back then, probably better than I do now, was 14 stoned lean, went to gym regularly, socialised much more. Now I'm completely sober, don't even consume caffeine, I feel stronger mentally, more fit, healthier, but worse mentally, more voices in my head, actually I couldn't even hear the voices anymore for some years a little while after getting diagnosed with schizophrenia, I'd still feel sometimes like I was doing things I didn't understand because I'd maybe not want to do them, or say things I didn't want to say, started getting more feelings that I wish I could be rid of, don't really want to socialise much anymore, and really it only started once I starting getting help again for my mental health, that I didn't ask for, after not getting help for years and not taking the antipsychotics that never helped in the first place, as I was just fine when not taking them for the most part. Actually, I started to experience things like involuntary facial movements after starting on them again, then they stopped, and I stopped taking them officially, then was convinced because of the voices in my head beginning again to start taking them again, because well... for some reason I somehow expected the drugs to stop the voices (they didn't help whatsoever), so I stopped with them again, and the involuntary movements started again, but they honestly didn't feel like a side effect of something, definitely something more, well, spiritually inclined. Just find these coincidences quite strange.
It's just hard to tell I guess, whether now I can be more myself (mostly) because I've sobered up, learnt more about the cause of the voices (can hear them clearly now), and (il call them external origin) feelings, or because of something else maybe.

2024.06.02 10:25 Chameleonizard Need help distinguishing my type between ILI and IEI

I’m fairly confident of being an Ni base because of my preoccupation with things like the passage of time, how things develop and events influence each other, where something is headed or what it used to be, etc. Basically it’s like I’m always carrying a continuously shifting mental collage of everything I’ve experienced over a large period. My confusion is with which extroverted creative function I have. For the longest time I was comfortable with being typed as an ILI mainly because of the general characteristics associated with them and also other Socionics nuances I read about such as the hidden agenda and PoLR that I happened to resonate with, but I’m not so sure now.
A big part of it was my belief that I had Fe PoLR, especially in my college years when my interest in typology really peaked. This was mainly because of my reclusiveness and social anxiety, which I might have possibly attributed to Fe being a vulnerable function. However, I don’t really have that indifference or obliviousness to Fe which seems to be associated with the PoLR. If anything, I’d say I’m excessively aware of it in a way that also drives my anxiety, particularly my lack of confidence in my social skills alongside other insecurities. I suffer from a severe case of the spotlight effect where I feel like anything I express will get magnified in a way that mostly highlights my flaws and that causes me to pretty much minimise my voice. There is a lot of tension between a compulsion to participate in the emotional atmosphere and my fear of being judged.
Also, and especially when I was younger, I had a sort of inclination towards this archetype of a edgy rational person for some reason and I think it's not unreasonable for that to also have affected my perspective on things and approach to answering questionnaires or doing online tests. Although it's worth noting that I've always maintained a greater interest in societal and cultural affairs, particularly in contrast to my near total lack of interest in business-related or practical matters. On multiple occasions people have called out my negligence towards things like managing my money and planning for the more practical aspects of my future, basically my avoidance of "things that need to be done" if that makes sense. I just don't have a clear view on how Te manifests in my cognition. I obviously concern myself with productivity and wastefulness to a degree but I don't see it as a predominant part of my general approach to life.
But maybe I'm just revealing my poor understanding of the functions here so feel free to contest whatever I said and ask me questions.

2024.06.02 10:15 cmWitchlt My (likely wrong) opinions on the gods

A spider got me scared af and now I can't sleep so I am writing about Hades 2 instead.
I'll rank the gods from best to worst taking into account both balance and design which is kinda subjective but whatever. Not including duos cause there is a ton of them, I haven't gotten all of them and from what I hear most of them kinda eh anyways.
  1. Poseidon
I kinda doubt it will surprise anyone, but Poseidon takes the number 1 spot as both the most powerful god and the best designed imo. I won't talk too much about his power considering his attack boons are the most powerful options for the best strategies in the game. I will say however, that he has a decent set of non-core boons as well, which compared to some other gods really helps him go a long way. Slip isn't crazy, but its a status and its not a bad secondary pom option. Crashing Wave isn't useful in the Mourning Fields buts its helpful everywhere else I find, even if its not an all-star. Double Up is a really nice take on his extra resources thing that feels strong and satisfying. Finally, and I don't think this should be discounted, he has an actually strong (albeit boring) Legendary, which gives him something nice to build to, especially compared to some other Gods on the list. Water Fitness and Fluid Gain being decent rounds out a god who is never horrible to see (despite two clunker boons) with good options in both a primary and supportive role, even if he isn't the most transformative god admittedly. Even his cast has a place!
  1. Demeter
Demeter takes number the number two spot primarily on the back of being both the best origination enabler and being the best defensive god in general with freeze and the cyclone to go with such options as Winter Coat and her excellent infusion boon. She also serves as a great primary option as her attacks have both a good multiplier and apply a status without needing a secondary boon. She even has some more interesting stuff sprinkled in her kit randomly. Weed whacker isn't the most unusual, but it is strong and Local Climate completely changes the cast in a way that may not be good, but is exciting to play around with. And of course when Rare Crop hits it hits. Her Legendary is quite nice too, even if it lacks the flare of Hades 1 currently. Another excellent all around entry for the second spot.
  1. Aphrodite
At first glance Aphrodite has one big thing going for her and that's her big multiplier. Of course she only works for short range playstyles but she reign supreme as the absolute best god for them and as a result completely differentiates herself from the others. Beyond that she does have other things going for her. Life Affirmation can be fun to see pop off (especially when combined with Double Up). Her cast has a status for origination, so while she may not be as good as Demeter for it, its still one of the better picks. And she has some good picks for extra damage between heart breaker for magic intensive builds, sweet surrender in general, and glamour gain for magicless builds wanting an easier time against bosses (especially if they need origination). A lot like Poseidon really, she combines great core boons with a lot of nice to have supplementary options which lets her provide something for everyone.
  1. Apollo
Apollo is primarily here for Solar Ring which imo is the cast for cast damage builds (Zeus(/Poseidonish) gives it a run for its money but ultimately Apollo's being both necessary for their duo and working better with Charon causes it to win out imo). It's his only great boon, but since it dominate a major playstyle so heavily he gets a bit of a pass. Otherwise he's OK. Daze is nice to have but needing a secondary boon for it does leave a damper since his core boons don't have extra power to compensate. Things like Extra Dose and Super Nova are definitely nice to have though not crazy. He does have a cool Legendary though to go for so that's worth thinking about.
----------------below this line gods deserve some love from SG imo (in different ways obviously)-----------
  1. Hera
Hera is here mostly on the strength of her core boons. Born Gain needs no introduction of course, but her attacks having the highest multiplier and applying status makes her the best God for any weapon that doesn't want either Poseidon or Aphro. Hitch is even generally quite nice. The problem is kind of everything else. A lot of her stuff is situational (e.g. uncommon grace), not that good (e.g. nasty comeback/her Legendary) or outright counterproductive (e.g her cast outside speedruns). The only thing you might look for is Bridal Glow in the Fields or in Tartarus. She is a god that does great power wise, but deisgn wise lacks imo (except the art which is amazing and deserves even more love).
  1. Zeus
I am a blitz hater. Still it's OK. I don't think its good as a main attack (outside that one duo that I have never got) but its not terrible I guess. Its better as secondary option I find, but only on weapons which really want one from the attack or flourish like Charon or some Revall stuff. Even then it never feels like it super pops off. I prefer using the cast as the secondary in general, so Blitz feels even worse but still alright.
The other stuff is better though. His cast is nice, works especially well Thanatos or Demeter's Local Climate. Lighting Lance is nice, both in general and specifically with Charon (since you already want his special and his Duo with Apollo it works out nicely). Static Shock is great depending on the build. Spirit Surge is nice to have I guess with to take off the blue hearts I guess. Even his gain is situationally useful or at least not terrible (it gets worse with fear though). His Legendary, however, is a joke. Like what? 7% of adds? That's like one guy a room??? I don't even know what to say.
A special shoutout to his infusion boon though which is basically his Legendary and really fun with Demeter (and Hestia or so I hear)
  1. Hephaestus
I am an even bigger Hephaestus explosion hater. Its worse than Blitz in every way imo (unless you get crazy rarity and poms). It even takes another boon to put on a status effect. But I guess it's not terrible or anything. You can still use it and it will still contribute a decent chunk.
Hephaestus is a great defensive god though, slightly worse than Demeter imo (though they work together great down to the complementary elements for the infusions - at least they did the 3 times I had them lol). Idk, he's cool I guess? Someone's gotta like him for more than the armor.
His Legendary is terrible though.
  1. Hestia
Hestia suffers design wise from being the Scorch God. She's kinda got a scarifice thing going on in the background I guess, but she mostly is the Scorch God. The problem is Scorch is terrible. Most know this, but for those of you who don't the quick explanation is 40 max dps is bad, 80 with legendary is not much better so you need a high rarity fire extinguisher or (from what I hear, Air Quality) and even at that point Poseidon is probably still better.
Other than that she's got a couple stand out boons - soot sprint gets a shoutout as the best dash imo, her cast provides a status (dem and aphro better imo though), her aimable cast boon (probably wanted Zeus instead) and I guess she has a cool Duo with Poseidon (Poseidon so busted he carries Hestia somehow lol). None of those really feel like her though tbh so it never feels like I am going for Hestia because I want Hestia. Her only not outclassed boon is the sprint. think about how down in the dumps you have to be for your contribution to be "I guess she has a status and her sprint is a bit safer."
Aight I feel calmed down enough I think I can sleep. What do you think?

As the messenger of the Greatest Creator, I can offer you the most reliable guarantee that all those who follow the Way of the Greatest Creator will secure a wonderful future and will enjoy the infinite pleasure of life in the kingdom of the Greatest Creator—the long-enduring Lifechanyuan era, Thousand-year World, Ten-thousand-year World, the Elysium World and its Celestial Island Continent.
This is the unchangeable law. The combination of sperms and eggs gives birth to the carrier of LIFE. The combination of seeds with suitable soil will make the seeds germinate, grow, flower, and bear fruits. The south pole and north pole of magnets are attracted to each other. The simultaneous intake of vitamin C and shrimps will cause the formation of arsenic in the body and make a person die of bleeding. Velocity multiplied by time is the distance covered. If an object reaches a speed of 11.2 kilometers per second, it can escape the gravitation force of the earth, and if it reaches a speed of 16.7 kilometers per second, it can fly out of the solar system. The still water without the infusion of running water will stink from putridity and eventually dries up. The reaction between copper oxide and dilute sulphuric acid will result in copper sulphate and water. In Euclidean geometry the angles of a triangle adds up to 180 degrees. On the earth one will return to the starting point if he keeps going forward by following a certain longitude or latitude. Water will turn into ice at zero degree Celsius. These and many other laws are necessary rules to be obeyed.
We will reach any place that our footsteps guide us to. If we break laws, we may end up in prison. In autumn we will harvest what we have sowed in the fertile soil in spring. According to the principle of gravity and attraction, kind actions and kind ideas will beget good results, while evil actions and evil intentions will incur evil consequences. If you chase the sun, you can escape from darkness, if you chase darkness, you can hardly see light. “A man is known by his friends”. “He who is unjust is doomed to destruction”. One will get intoxicated if he drinks too much, and will have a bulging stomach if he eats too much. “A mountain dweller knows well the twittering of birds and a fisherman has a good knowledge of fishes”. Worship Buddha and you will acquire the Buddhahood, seek the way of immortality and you will attain the spiritual state of a celestial being. The buildup of quantitative changes will result in qualitative changes once the critical point is surpassed. For anything, emergence and disappearance and life and death exist in unity of opposites. Each flower is a bodhi, and each grain of sand reflects a world. The universe is holographic. The two poles are communicable and convertible. Things will develop in the opposite direction if they become extreme. Gazing for long impairs blood, lying for long impairs qi, sitting for long impairs muscles, standing for long impairs bone, and walking for long impairs tendons. A benevolent person is kind in words, actions and look. If a person performs three deeds of kindness every day, he will be granted blessing by the heaven in three years. A ferocious and evil person is wicked in words, actions and look. If a person performs three deeds of unkindness every day, he will be dealt disaster by the heaven in three years. All these and many others are necessary rules not to be violated.
It is an inevitable and necessary law and principle that those who follow the Way of the Greatest Creator will all enjoy a beautiful future.
The Greatest Creator reigns supreme in the universe. The Greatest Creator is the omnipotent boss of the universe. People who comply to the will of the Greatest Creator and do things in accordance with the will of the Greatest Creator will surely win the blessing and favor of the Greatest Creator. If the son ask for steamed bun, the father will not give him the stone. If we obey the Greatest Creator, the Greatest Creator will grant us special rewards. The Greatest Creator is eternal. If we follow the way of the Greatest Creator, we will also become eternal. The Greatest Creator is the source of wisdom and the birthplace of LIFE. If we follow the way of the Greatest Creator, we can obtain wisdom and new LIFE. The Greatest Creator is love and truth, so if we follow the way of the Greatest Creator we can win love and find truth. In the universe, there are 36-dimensional space, 20 parallel worlds, and heaven and hell. If we obey the Greatest Creator and follow the way of the Greatest Creator, the Greatest Creator will certainly arrange us in the most beautiful space and world. The Greatest Creator will absolutely not assign good thing to rebels and bad things to obedient people. If good things are assigned to rebels and bad things to the obedient people, then where are justice and laws in the world? As a result, there would be no relations between cause and effect, and everything will be put upside down. Actually everything is in good order. Therefore, we will surely have a wonderful future if we hold the Greatest Creator in awe and respect, conform to the Greatest Creator, believe in the Greatest Creator and follow the way of the Greatest Creator.
“Tathagata just tells us truth, and does not tell lies”. Jesus Christ, Buddha Sakyamuni, and celesial being Lao Tze are all Tathagata. They will not cheat us, and they can see no need to cheat us. Put in a nutshell, their teachings and instructions just tell us to follow the way of the Greatest Creator. Follow the way of the Greatest Creator, and we can enter the kingdom of the Greatest Creator, the Elysium world, and we can attain immortality. According to the values of Lifechanyuan, those who follow the way of the Greatest Creator will have their future in Thousand-year World, Ten-thousand-year World, Elysium World, and its Celestial Island Continent.
All are inevitable. You can become what you believe in. You will achieve corresponding results from the way you take. The brightest, the easiest, the most direct, and the most beneficial way in the world is the way of the Greatest Creator. The most nutritious thing in the world is mother’s milk, the best way in the world to obtain the most beautiful future is the way of the Greatest Creator.

2024.06.02 09:55 AdInteresting2401 Sick through meditation? - German media

For some, intensive meditation can cause mental suffering. The predominantly positive image of meditation makes it difficult for those affected to be heard in the event of side effects, as SWR research shows.
By Linda Huber, SWR
Millions of people in Germany meditate regularly. The offerings range from apps and online courses to meditation in studios and multi-day retreats. According to a Statista Consumer Survey, almost one in four people between the ages of 18 and 64 have a meditation app on their cell phone. A Buddhist tradition has long since become a mass phenomenon and the market for mindfulness is booming, with meditation often being praised as a cure for stress and mental health problems. However, recent scientific studies show that intensive meditation can also trigger serious psychological side effects. This side effect is often ignored or trivialized, as research by the investigative format Vollbild revealed.
One in ten meditators suffers from side effects
In a ten-year long-term study, US psychologist Willoughby Britton from Brown University was able to prove that around one in ten meditators develop side effects that severely restrict them in their everyday life. According to Britton, anxiety, traumatic flashbacks and hypersensitivity are the most common side effects of meditation. German studies also point to undesirable side effects of meditation: a study by a working group at Charité Berlin found that a total of 22 percent of 1,397 meditating test subjects had undesirable effects. Of these, around nine percent were classified as mild and temporary, while 13 percent had moderate to extreme adverse effects that required treatment, were permanent or even required hospitalization.
Negative effects often underestimated
Research on meditation over the past 20 years has mostly shown positive effects such as the reduction of stress or depression. Psychologist Britton criticizes the research on contemplative practices and points out that the negative effects of meditation are often underestimated.
In Germany, the first contact point for victims of meditation side effects has been open for two years at the Institute for Frontier Areas of Psychology and Mental Hygiene in Freiburg. Psychologists Ulrich Ott and Liane Hofmann set up the contact point. They report that the consultation hours are already very popular and that the level of suffering of many of those affected is high. The psychologists suspect a high number of unreported cases and assume that there is a great need for counseling in Germany.
Panic attacks, hospitalization, suicide after meditation
Fullscreen has spoken to several people who have developed severe psychological problems after intensive meditation and had to be treated in a clinic. A 26-year-old student from Wiesbaden describes how he developed panic attacks after intensive meditation with an app and had to be treated in a clinic. A 28-year-old doctoral student from Düsseldorf reports that she developed delusions after an intensive retreat and had to be hospitalized, while a particularly drastic case from Canada shows extreme consequences: A young woman left a ten-day meditation retreat early and took her own life. Her mother reports that her daughter already felt unwell during the retreat. When asked, the meditation center explained that it was deeply saddened by the tragic incident. Teachers are trained to recognize signs of mental imbalance, and students are not asked to continue meditating if they are in distress.
Responsibility seen in meditators
The predominantly positive image of meditation often means that those affected have difficulty being heard and understood when side effects occur, and that providers often see meditators as being responsible.
US researcher Britton also observes this: "Blaming the victim is probably the most common reaction. It comes in many different varieties." It is often said that the person has already brought the problems with them. The retreat or the provider are therefore not responsible. Or the person has meditated incorrectly. "The normal meditation teacher wants to be helpful, and then to hear that you have caused harm is a very difficult kind of feedback," says Britton.
The psychologists Ott and Hofmann criticize the fact that meditation providers often deny responsibility for possible side effects: "It is of course also the responsibility of the providers to check in advance whether the people are mentally healthy, whether they are stable and not to deny all responsibility with such a disclaimer," says Ott. However, the offers often state: "Participation at your own risk. This clearly places the responsibility on the participants," says Ott.
No mandatory training, no monitoring
How little attention is paid to risks is also shown by an undercover investigation: in a self-experiment, Vollbild asked around 20 meditation providers for a course and stated that the supposed interested party had mental health problems. Only a few advised her to consult a doctor or therapist beforehand. The providers' websites did not provide any information on the risks and side effects of meditation in advance. In Germany, there is the Association of Mindfulness Teachers with eight training institutes and around 1,000 mindfulness teachers. According to full-screen research, undesirable side effects of meditation are an issue in training here. However, the training is voluntary. Anyone who wants to can offer meditation. There are no controls. This is another reason why many meditation teachers are apparently overwhelmed by the psychological damage and side effects of meditation.

Comments to the video:
"The fact that meditation or Buddhist practice in general (not just sitting) has dark sides has always been described. In Buddhist sutras, entire texts are dedicated to the spiritual decline of some practitioners. In Zen, "meditation sickness" is a well-known term, as is "lung" in Tibetan Buddhism. Various studies prove that there are often psychological problems, especially during intensive meditation sessions. For example, one psychologist describes that deprivatized sitting without movement can stress the neurons to such an extent that psychosis-like states can be reached. If you need help or would like more information on the possible symptoms and side effects (based on scientific data), please visit Cheetah House, they can also help those affected. What Micki describes at the beginning is also something that I consider extremely dangerous, if any teacher says to you "you have to go through this", then you should distance yourself as quickly as possible. Meditation should never be associated with thoughts of self-optimization or the desire for eternal happiness, in Zen they say "Zen brings nothing", or you could say, seek neither happiness nor unhappiness, only in this way can an authentic path be realized, with in my opinion clearly more serenity. Unfortunately, it is not without reason that many practitioners have been saying for a long time that 80 percent of Buddhist offerings are not authentic. Just look at the charlatans who serve as role models these days: Hinnerk Polenski, Shi Heng Yi, Zensho W Kopp... All people who are self-proclaimed masters."
"Shi Heng Yi has never studied Shaolin Buddhism, but has a martial arts master title under an American, yet the Otterberg Temple claimed to teach people on official behalf of the Henan Mother Temple, the warning then came quickly, officially Shi Heng Yi has recently made the first pin in the Warrior Monk Duan Pin System, so he is at the level of a novice. Nevertheless, he sells books on Zen Buddhism and the like. (Shaolin is Chan, Japanese Zen) and also meditation courses with dubious people for thousands of euros, which of course has nothing to do with Zen or Shaolin. Then Hinnerk, could never prove his mastery, like many others of the controversial Oi Saidan lineage he was only in the monastery for a few weeks. Zensho W Kopp, claims to have received Zen mastery from a teacher, but as I said, this man is only a teacher and not a master and therefore cannot confer mastery, but has never claimed to do so. It is clear that this can only result in spiritual confusion, but people who have no prior knowledge of religious integrity find it difficult to differentiate. In the end, a spiritual ego is built. But that doesn't mean that the “authentic” path isn't full of stumbling blocks. Who wants to let go of their ego? For some it can actually brighten up life again, but I think it is much more difficult to find an authentic guru these days than the danger on the path itself. For Buddhist practice, at least in Zen, sitting meditation is not necessary.
“I do not wash my hands or shave my head, I do not read sutras or observe precepts, I do not burn incense, I do not do sitting meditation, I do not perform memorial ceremonies for a master or Buddha.”
Chin'g gak Kuksa Hyesim (1178-1234)
How about that? :)"

2024.06.02 09:55 Slickbo1 I don't know how to put up with my parents

I graduated this year and been working for a while. We don't come from money majorly due to my father's reluctance to save up. My Mother has had a major role to put me through education. Now that I'm working, my father has already got a loan for a motorbike on my name and been asking me to finance a car. Which I've been refusing. Now he's asking me to take up the electricity bills of the house even though I'm paying water and internet bills already which doesn't even occur to him. Meanwhile I'm also saving up for my future education. All this while my father squanders the money he earns on things we don't need or even want like cartons of softdrinks, buiscuits for a fam of 4. You can guess from the fact that my mother has worked and put me through education that this has been a life changing effort from her for me and the fact that she has to make this effort hints at the trauma we all would've faced at hands on my father, so much so that we are quite notorius in relations for what we faced.
On one hand my mother discusses with me how absent he has been in our lives as the caretaker of the house and how much he has traumatised us. On the other hand, she says I'm the one who's hurting him and through him her by refusing to take all the expenses he's been trying to throw on me.
My question is what do I do? I don't know how to place this man in my life who has caused us so much pain, the man who is one of the most short tempered and incompetent man I've seen. Not an ounce of wisdom. The effects of the damage he's done on his kids is showing up now and all we can think is why us? What'd we do to get this?
My self-esteem is downtrodden and I don't know what to do I just don't want to be a bad guy but I don't want to make bad decisions either I guess what I am looking for is someone to tell me how do I behave with him in my daily life how much do I heed to what he says when I from deep below don't even see him at the pedestal of a father let alone give him the respect of a father??
All this time growing up you are certain that you won't turn out like your parents and work on yourself but now all of a sudden you don't know what the heck is happing
