Gardenscapes is a match-three game that brings players to a mansion with many old elements that need to be changed. They will try to collect many gold stars to perform in-game changes, and of course, the match-three levels will be the challenge that the player must conquer. EXPLORE A VAST GARDEN

The story of Gardenscapes opens with a city crowded with people and vehicles moving one after another. 2024.05.19 09:27 Amecrose Should I keep playing Sky?

Hello Sky players! I need your opinion on my experience, because I'm not sure if I should keep playing or not.
I went into this game completely blind - the only thing I knew was that it has stunning visuals. I decided to try it when it was made available on Steam, and I've played the early access version. Now, the graphics really are stunning - it's really fun to fly around and watch the beautiful landscapes and creatures appear in my sight.

However, there were some parts of the game that made my Sky experience less enjoyable. They are:

Bugs: I'm aware this is Early Access and these will most likely be fixed as time passes - but some are really annoying. Sky is multiplayer and it's nice to see others fly out and about, but not when it forces me to watch their cutscenes every single time they're triggered. That, and players can solve puzzles I haven't unlocked yet, which makes it more difficult to enjoy the story at my own pace.
Controls: the camera constantly autofocuses on things. It's giving me headaches, so hopefully this is also something that will get fixed. We also cannot rebind keyboard controls, and the Friends menu is confusing to me.
Players activating cutscenes/puzzles: if the camera autofocusing didn't make it difficult enough to travel through the worlds of Sky, other players triggering cutscenes that the game forced me to watch did. When I got to the mountain to climb to get to the Eye of Eden, some players triggered the "opening door" cutscene at the end of the path and my character couldn't move, so I got hit by falling rocks, losing Light - this is just one of the many times it happened.
Microtransactions: there's lots of things you can only get with real money. I was disappointed when I found out that even in the Cinnamoroll event, I could only get two objects from the shop with in-game currency. All the rest has to be paid for with real money (unless I missed something, because I could barely tell where the event shop was).

More personal reasons are:

Customization options: now this is something I was really hoping I could enjoy - I love customizing characters, I could spend hours doing that. I saw some Sky players with really cool skins, and wanted to see what I could do. When I started the game, however, I only had three hair options to choose from - I couldn't even change the color of my cape. This really disappointed me, since I was hoping I could at least get some basic customizing options. I have to go around collecting light and doing quests to get one cape colour.
Quests: I've finished the main story, and now all I do every day is do daily quests and interact with NPCs. Daily quests feel too long to complete (unless there's a way to get to the top of the Vault of Knowledge that I'm not aware of); I've spoken to an NPC who told me to go help a spirit and showed me the location once, then never showed it again. That spirit's lost forever, since my Light won't find them either.
Lack of previews: there's a lot of grinding to do to get one new item, and if I have no preview of what it will look like on my character, I can't be sure that I'll like it. Colored capes, for example - or the new Cinnamoroll coffee cup ornament. I didn't know it was something my character would put on their head, I thought it was an item to put in my nest. There was no indication that it would be an ornament for my character (that or I'm dumb and didn't see it, but as a new player, I understand few things about this game).
Lack of info/directions: I understand that Sky is a game that offers a world to explore, but when my only guide is my "light" and I have no idea what's happening, I can't enjoy the story as much. The lack of explanation as to what was happening in the Eye of Eden was particularly annoying; I went around giving Light to fallen ones and trying not to die, but eventually ended up dying anyways since I couldn't reach the place my Light was guiding me to. Then came a few cutscenes, and sitting through minutes-long cutscenes of birds flying and happy music when I didn't understand anything wasn't entertaining. That this is only my opinion, tough - I'm aware that some people enjoy stories that give more space to the player's interpretation.

Now, Sky is a wonderful game. It's gorgeous, I love how many options you get to interact with friends (I love hugging them :D) and how many emotes you get. I really love the different places you can go to and how fun flying is - I've read the Steam page for the game too, and I know the devs are planning to make new players' experience easier, fix bugs, etc. I'd love to keep playing this game, but if the aspects I mentioned remain, I don't think I will.
So, I wanted to ask Sky players - are these constants in your mobile gameplay experience too, or are they only part of the Early Access PC experience? I'd love to know your opinions.
TL;DR - I love Sky's aesthetic and graphics, but the bugs, excessive grinding and wonky controls are keeping me from enjoying the game. Is Sky this way in other devices too, or is it only because I'm playing Early Access?

2024.05.19 09:19 ProstMeister So, I just upgraded my workhorse from MK3S to MK3.5

The upgrade is definitely worth it. It took me more or less 7 hours to disassemble the old printer, install the upgrade kit, and perform the 1st test print. If you carefully (and I mean, REALLY CAREFULLY) read the instructions, the process goes nice and smooth. Reading the comments also helps.
I didn't use the pre-sliced models for MK3.5 on the USB thumbdrive, as they failed mid-print because the machine switched off the hot end roughly at 50% of the printing process, resulting in an aborted print.
Printing speed is dramatically improved, especially when dealing with objects requiring a lot of X-Y movements: printing speed difference between MK3 and MK3.5 are especially significant with wide and flat objects rather than thin and tall ones.
Even though the printer is now twice as fast, the print quality is the same as before, if not even better: I can see less artifacts on vertical surfaces than before.
The added features are absolutely game changers, especially PrusaConnect and PrusaLink: being able to monitor the printing process wherever I am, and finally being free from SD card fiddling has no price. You can also flash the printer firmware directly from PrusaConnect!
The printer is also quieter than before: since it now prints with input shaping, there's no resonances between axes such as the ones I used to hear before, especially during X-Y combined movements. Also, as motors spin way much faster, the noise it makes is higher pitched.
However, this is not only bells and whistles. I had some issues after the upgrade: as the machine is really being pushed to its limits, if it's not in perfect shape, you may experience problems.
Here are the drawbacks I had:

I wasn't able to unload the filament anymore, it got badly stuck. My PTFE tube was worn out, but this has never been a problem with the old unloading routine. With the new one, though, the printer does an initial "ramming" and pushes the filament hard through the nozzle; it does this to get the filament end a better shape and to save filament when changing color (you need to purge less filament than before to get the right color after the change), but this ramming caused the filament to get stuck into the hot end. I solved this problem by replacing the PTFE tube.
I had to install a silicone sock onto the hot end because the tool head now moves so fast that it struggles to keep the right nozzle temperature.
I still have an issue with the 1st level calibration: as soon as you add a 2nd sheet profile, on the right side of the bed (~5 cm) the filament gets squashed so badly that the nozzle crashes onto the sheet, scratching it. I've reseated all the heatbed screws, it didn't help. I've been in contact with PrusaSupport and they told me that this has been heard before and it's probably a firmware bug (yet to be officially confirmed). I temporarily deal with this problem by not using the standard 1st level calibration.I print an 80x80x0.2 mm square instead.

Having said that, I'm very very happy and impressed by the upgrade kit, it feels like having a new printer and it grants you full support for years to come.

Hello there and well met! If you’ve made it past the flavor text (or skipped it) and through the basic info (hopefully didnt skip past that one) you might very well be at the right address! Without further ado onto the post.

🐲The campaign🐲

Having only just recovered from the Second Sundering and the War of the Silver Marches, the North had been ravaged by a whole new set of tumultuous events - the rise of the Cult of the Dragon and that of the Absolute, the Fall of Eltruel and the short reign of the beholder crime lord Xanathar just some among them. After a brief respite from the twisted and the unnatural the clouds once more begin to gather. Along the Long Road, whole hosts of wild beasts and monsters have been accosting travelers seemingly at random and in the grand metropolis of Waterdeep a sudden rise in crime seems to coincide with strange events passing unnoticed beneath the surface. Amidst all this, in spring of 1493 DR, a party of adventurers delves into a mystery of enchanted gemstones being utilized to nefarious ends by unknown perpetrators all the while navigating the labyrinthine twists of city faction politics.
As implied by the post title, this is an ongoing campaign (we are 12 sessions in at the time of this post). Due to some irl commitments weve recently dropped a player and are looking to replace them.
As the title suggests, this is a roleplay focused mystery/lore driven campaign. Expect an overreaching plot with ample secrets to uncover, conspiracies to unravel and eldritch truths to unearth. The first word of the password is "Doth". On the same level of importance or more important even be that the players preference, there is a variety of subplots to engage with, from small and goofy and random to ones rivaling the main story arc in complexity and variance. Among these, individual character story arcs play a leading role, at times seamlessly intertwined with the current focus of the party, at times separate and independent.
As was already mentioned and is further described below, this is a roleplay focused campaign and a roleplay heavy game. This means that roleplay exists as a unifying concept for all other aspects of the game including exploration, combat, and puzzles. That said DnD is only DnD with all three of its main pillars intact and this campaign is no exception in that regard. I very much enjoy the mechanical side of the game as well besides roleplay and so things like multiphase boss fights and custom magic items are definitely on the table.

🧙‍♂️The DM🧙‍♂️

Hello there, Jay here, 25 yo law student from Central Europe currently working on finishing his master’s degree, trying to stay afloat in the current lease market. I study and work in a law firm by day and DM or play DnD by night (more like evening but night sounded cooler). I have been a big fan of TTRPGs since my early teens and of online DnD for the past five years. I’ve DMed multiple campaigns, finished CoS not least among them and I currently play in a long-term campaign. Before you ask, yes, my schedule is strained but not to the point I am unable to engage with my hobbies.
I would describe my DMing style as driven, realistic, and involved but also very conscious about player agency and collaborative storytelling as core values that make TTRPGs so popular and unique. I spend a lot of time ensuring the worlds I create and the stories I want to tell feel alive. From hand-picked music, to fully voiced NPCs and scenic descriptions designed to breathe life into the campaign setting I daresay my games rival in quality those of the professional DMs that charge for each session.
There is a drawback to this all however. Second word of the password is "thy". I expect a lot from my players as well. Writing a story in DnD is not a one person job. It takes a collective effort of the entire group to create something truly unique, something that one can be proud while looking forward to each session. Unwinding and letting off steam means something else for everyone. For me it means losing myself in the creative process of roleplaying an NPC or describing a scene, watching my players masterfully portray their own characters or having the party derail my plans in an awesome unforeseen and unexpectedly enriching way. If you find yourself in any of what I just described than this may be a game for you. If you don’t, that’s fine. This is definitely not a game for everyone.

🏰The setting🏰

Forgotten Realms is a default setting of Dungeons and Dragons but it is anything but boring and mundane. With now decades worth of lore behind it, it offers an unparalleled opportunity for anyone wanting to build on solid foundations to bring their ideas to life. While it has garnered a lot of attention lately with the release of a certain videogame (more people now know Astarion than a good amount of Hollywood celebrities I’d say) it has had its loyal following even before then, being constantly expanded and living its own life in a host of both online and home games. It’s been a natural choice of mine for a while now and not once have I had any regrets. The third word of the password is "mirror". I feel with how great of a variety of content the Forgotten Realms offer everybody is able to pick something that suits their creative vision. In summary the Forgotten Realms almost feel like a real place with how much worldbuilding has been done with them and offer a diversity of content few other TTRPG settings can boast.
When it comes to setting of the campaign in the world of Faerun I have once again made a somewhat traditional pick and decided to place the onset of the game onto the Sword Coast, more precisely into the city of Waterdeep. If one of the key upsides of Forgotten Realms is diversity of content, Waterdeep is one of the best representations of this. Being the largest settlement on the known Faerun, Waterdeep offers nigh limitless options in terms of main story arc genre, character creation and character backstory implementation. It has everything every large TTRPG settlement ought to have (fickle upper class, enigmatic factions, quaint taverns and extravagant nightclubs, always in bad mood city watch, a castle and a harbor) as well as few pretty original ideas such as colossal definitely not alive statues, a city council where even its members don’t know each other’s identity and a massive dungeon right underneath the city where you can literally fall right from a tavern taproom.
In case you are wondering, while this campagn takes place primarily in the city of Waterdeep itself, there is nothing stopping the players from exploring past the city if they so choose. The final word of the password is "crack?". Different parts of the main plot and various subplots can and will encourage the party to explore Waterdeep environs and sometimes even further.

No exceptions here. Unless otherwise stated, the requirements must be met at the time of application.

to apply you need to be 20+ yo
you need a functioning webcam (at the time of application) and a stable internet connection - we will be using both video and voice on discord and as a general rule Wifi doesn’t handle long video calls well (believe me when I say I speak from experience) so cable or other similar form of stable connection is strongly encouraged
you need a Discord account and you will need a Forge account - Forge is a hosting service for Foundry, don’t worry, you won’t need to input any personal info (besides maybe an email) to register and I will be footing the bill
you need a PC that can and will run Foundry Virtual Tabletop - check the minimum requirements on the Foundry website, a fair warning, Foundry won’t run on tablets and phones (not that you should consider those in the first place)
you need at least an elementary knowledge of Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition - when it comes to the awareness of the rules, I won’t be too harsh, but definitely don’t apply if the first time you’ve seen the PHB was a week ago
you need TTRPG/roleplay experience and/or a very strong roleplay inclination - this is a heavy roleplay game where most if not all ingame talk will be done in character and where you will be expected to voice your character in a way that is distinct from your standard voice
you will need to be very punctual when it comes to session attendance - I expect my players to attend most if not all sessions, online or not, this campaign is a designed as a longterm commitment and by applying you are acknowledging this, having other hobbies and time-consuming real-life obligations is understandable (I got those too) but those 4-5 hours you will be expected to set aside for the session

At least where i live it is become over the years by multitudes more expensive. And as im getting older i have less enjoyment to play inside, but i dont mind to play an hour or two outside.
That said heres what i bought for work and a bit of gaming :

I tried other distos like ubuntu, mint and such as stock without changing anything, but it wasnt good experience, the issues i faced on xfce and few others is the greeter, i couldnt use touch pad, but only buttons under touchpad, im guessing there 2-3 of em. There were some other little thing that been annoying and i couldnt live w em, changing the desktop envirement and greeter on different distros been quite an experience, so i decided to land on Arch to see what is all noise about, it is about what i was expecting and feels better, but i couldnt fix the sddm and managed to breake it twice and went lightdm-gtk greeter and given arch wiki existence i managed to do some stuff i needed without breaking anything, yet i wish wiki were more detailed, had to look info i needed piece by piece wherever i could.
Now about the game, it is warframe and the issues i have few i would like to find solution to for.
First thing i would like to have vsync on, but with 60fps limit, it doesnt feel as good as 120-200 that system is averaging, but not much of a difference and the battery life is far more important for me. i tried mangohud, gamescop and libstrangle and non of em do work, the game doesnt start, not even a launcher, ive been switching between different versions of proton that steam has to offer (flatpak package) plus proton ge, same result. DXVK frame rate limiter doesnt do anything either. I see a lot of the hype about upcoming drivers 555 and some changes about it, including that gamescop should be working, had to go and read on that subject quite of few pages on the internet.
The second issue i guess cannot be fixed until next nvidia drivers or there anything i could learn about how to reduce flickering, screen tearing in a meanwhile? I do prefer to play in a windowed mode, so can keep an eye on things related to my work and such. When i installed Arch it was a bad experince to play it in a windowed mode, then after another typical sudo pacman -Syu it was great for a day or two bcz there were a kernel update and nvidia driver -4, my guess. But i had to reinstall steam bcz ive been trying to work with pacman/flatpak and set em to install all packages on a different partion, with no success. The instructions, even official, on any matter is so vague to my taste and it takes way to much time to learn about simple things.
I can live with the first two issues, sort of. But the third issue is bugging me. With that recent kernel update i launched warframe and to my surprise the sensitive of touchpad was like in the system, which i enjoyed until i had to resinstall steam, i guess. Its the same slow unresponsive experience now again. The actual game does work great and there no issues with sensitivity, but when i have to use the cursor for navigation in the UI it is like 4-5 times slowwwwwer. I begging to help me with that one. I havnt had that issue only on Mint cinnamon/mate, but i had that issue everwhere else.
And the forth issue comes from steam, the issue is "dbus-update-activation-environment DISPLAY" i ran it in the terminal as is and with --user argument. From time to time on a login steam refuses automatically to start with given error displayed. It does start no problem immidietly from the shortcut/ctl with no issues. Cant figure out how to track down that issue, the only solution as far as i can understand could be delaying autostart, but i havnt read on that subject anything yet, mint had that option, where it could be set on arch i have no idea atm, prolly gotta go through aur and find something related to autostart.

i cannot figure out mods for the life of me. i tried downloading SMAPI today from nexus and it just was not working. i would follow all the instructions, unzip the file, then go to run the windows installer, and nothing would happen.
i also tried to run as administrator instead of double clicking, and it just said the system could not find the path specified.
also tried using moddrop, which seemed to work, only when i tried to run the game from steam nothing would happen, even after copy/pasting the correct address in the properties tab on steam.
i’ve tried following youtube tutorials and got the same results.
does anyone have any advice? i have windows 11. ive been playing for 6 years vanilla now and am dying to switch things up. should i just wait until i can get a better laptop/PC? i’m so close to just giving up.
