2024.06.02 06:51 eneer14 MRI results - deep endo found but surgery not recommended

I recently had a consult with a doctor who is well regarded in the endometriosis world, however, she did not recommend surgery based on my MRI results (which found deep endo). She emphasized that my symptoms (10+ years of painful periods) are not severe enough on a daily basis to warrant a risky surgery. I was super confused by her response. What am I missing? Anyone else have a similar case? If so, how did you proceed?
Impression
  1. Retroflexed septate uterus with fibromuscular septum.
  2. Deep pelvic endometriosis involving the middle and posterior compartments with retrocervical serosal adhesions to the mid rectum.
  3. Ill-defined fibrotic implant involves the right ovary, right hematosalpinx, right round ligament, and serosa of the distal sigmoid in the right pelvis.
UTERUS Retroverted and retroflexed uterus with septate morphology. Flat fundal contour with fibromuscular septum, internal endometrial indentation greater than 2 cm and divergent cavities with internal angulation approaching 90 degrees. SIZE: 8.6 x 4.6 x 6.7 cm JUNCTION ZONE THICKNESS: 4 mm and symmetric Focal Adenomyomas: Not present ADENOMYOSIS: Not present FIBROIDS: Small 1.1 cm FIGO 5 fibroid anterior uterine body. CERVIX: Normal ENDOMETRIUM: Each cavity measures up to 9 mm in AP thickness.
OVARIES Normal size and position of the ovaries. * Right ovary: least one endometrioma measuring 0.9 cm (401/28) * Left ovary: Physiologic corpus luteum. Several foci of T1 hyperintensity at the posterior aspect of the left ovary with 0.6 cm endometrioma or endometrial implant (401/31) * Abnormal T2 signal and architectural distortion within each of the ovaries extending to the pelvic sidewall, peritoneal reflection, and involving the proximal right round ligament, which is circumferentially thickened (401/25)
ANTERIOR COMPARTMENT BLADDER: Decompressed and normal. URETER: Nondilated URETHRA: Normal VESICOUTERINE POUCH: Normal VESICOVAGINAL POUCH: Possible focal adhesion anterior vesicovaginal pouch (401/37)
MIDDLE COMPARTMENT TORUS UTERINUS (Uterine body): * Fibrotic implant spanning 3 cm transverse by 3 cm craniocaudal at the torus uterinus extending into the retrocervical space involving the anterior serosa of the mid rectum 9 cm above the anal verge. * Small fibrotic implant anterior lower uterine segment/uterocervical junction (201/20) abutting loops of decompressed bowel without clear involvement. FALLOPIAN TUBE: * Small right hematosalpinx, 5 mm diameter. * Left tube not visualized. UTERINE LIGAMENTS: Fibrotic implant involving the proximal right round ligament, right anterior uterine body, and serosa of the distal sigmoid colon as it courses to the right towards the right internal iliac vessels (401/17)
POSTERIOR COMPARTMENT UTEROSACRAL LIGAMENTS: Involved bilaterally near the junction. RECTOCERVICAL SPACE (Pouch of Douglas): Involved as described above. RECTOVAGINAL SEPTUM: The fibrotic implant in the retrocervical space extends inferiorly to involve apex of the posterior vaginal fornix. ANTERIOR RECTAL WALL: Involved as above. SIGMOID COLON: Involved as above.
OTHERS APPENDIX: Tip not visualized, possibly involved. Cecum positioned anterior right pelvis. PELVIC SMALL BOWEL LOOPS: As above. Hearing feeback I've raised the budget a bit to account for the 4070 since everyone has been dogging the 4060.
I'm limited in gpu due to sizing the case I will be going for is the Meshlicious but I'll be making modifications to it (listed below)
Original Meshlicious dimensions: 245 mm x 166.4 mm x 360 mm(LxWxH) [14L] Modified Meshlicious dimensions: 166.4 mm x 166.4 mm x 245 mm(LxWxH)[6.8L]
CPU, RAM, and MOBO are cheaper due to microcenter bundle deal.
Primary use for this pc Ue5/Ue4, android studio, games like Marvel rivals, tekken 8, the first Descendants, etc.
I STILL NEED TO FIND POWER SUPPLY( not sure

2024.06.02 05:42 tsukiyaki1 My 99 is back on the road!

My 99 is back on the road!
It burned an exhaust valve at 318k miles.. I bought 2 spare engines from a guy, one was parts, and one was supposedly good but it was a VVTi ‘00 engine. So I swapped around parts to make it work on my non VVTi car (need to swap intake cam, crank pickup, knock sensor, rear head temp sensor, thermostat housing, and injectors.. I think that was it). Had a chance to replace all 4 mounts while I was in there as well… the rear one in a nightmare without dropping the subframe, but with the engine out it was just barely possible. Had the injectors cleaned and flow tested, got all new coolant hoses, t-stat, front and rear main seal, and new timing chain… and that’s about it! Ran good, but had a noisy top end. Pulled the valve cover and found half the valve clearances out of spec (should’ve checked before install, oops). Was able to harvest lifter buckets between all 3 engines and get all but 3 into spec, and those 3 got much closer to spec. Runs quiet(ish) like my old motor now.

My wife inherited her father's fatboy after he passed. I just got my license and started riding it recently and it's been fun! I'm currently in the middle of doing the fluid changes for Primary, xmsn and engine. The second picture was the primary plug and the transmission looked the same but not as bad. Also here's a Pic for the maintenance intervals and main component locations.

2024.06.02 04:12 lakija Secret Dragon - Chapter 1: Deepness

Secret Dragon - Chapter 1: Deepness

Suggested Listening:
Yuna Crush

Sasha frowned. He always looked so frustrated during class, grumbling to himself. He was staring down at a piece of paper. Our latest test. Another bad grade, I supposed. He rolled his eyes and set it face down on the table, shaking his head. “What a fucking joke,” he whispered under his breath. He sat at a table alone behind us.
My friend, Pam Swiftwater, hazarded a look. She was a slender lizardfolk with sleek greenish skin. She had a long pretty face. She was always stylish. “He’s failed again. I feel bad for him. Maybe he needs a tutor. You could.”
“A tutor? Him?” I said incredulously. “With perfect grades otherwise? What could I do? He’s so serious all the time, worrying about this class.”
I glanced back at Sasha sneakily. I was larger than everyone in my class except him. I was “Komodo,” a moniker I did not care for one bit. Of course we were large. We were Sun dragons. We were just as much dragons as he was, but not afforded the recognition for lack of wings. I’d always been hyper aware of that. Every time I looked at him, the knowledge stung more. I was afraid of what words would come from his mouth if we ever did speak. Would he look down on me like some other dragons did?
Even so I wanted to speak with him.
There was just something about him that had intrigued me since he set claw in the University. I was embarrassed by how much I was attracted to this Sasha. It was so strange. Sometimes I would find myself drifting in his direction to talk to him, but I would chicken out and force myself the other way.
Honestly it was getting exhausting pretending I wasn’t attracted to him. But so far I had not worked up the courage to introduce myself.
Pam shook me from my reverie.
“Don’t be judgey Leila. You know this would be a good opportunity to bite the bullet. Just talk to him.”
“I’m not judging him!” I countered. “I’ll talk to him. Eventually.”
“Gods Leila. You’ve been saying that for weeks. Well, let’s be partners for this project and we can talk about Mr. Emberscale later,” Pam said.
“Bet,” I replied.
But our professor spoke up from her desk.
“Alright class. Go check the list to see who your partner will be for the next assignment. Then join tables.”
Of course. Me and Pam rolled out eyes and laughed. “Or not,” she said, hunching her shoulders.
I glanced at Sasha again. He just rubbed his furrowed scaly brow but didn’t bother to get up. I stared at him until I felt Pam pulling my arm.
I stood in a small line waiting to see the list posted to the board.
“Leila and Sasha! Damn, good luck.” Jonah. He was a greenish lizardfolk with big green eyes.
I felt my heart pounding. “Wait, what? What!” I asked.
“Sasha. He’s your partner. He’s the worst student in class. How a dragon can fail a class about his own race is beyond me. Even you can’t work your magic on that. See you at my table, though, Pam,” he said, rubbing hands together and smiling in her direction.
Pam folded her arms and watched Jonah walk back to his seat. “Of course, he would be my partner.” She turned to me, a smirk spreading over her face. “Look at fate. Now you don’t have a choice but to talk to him, girl.”
I inhaled strongly, wide-eyed.
“Just breathe,” Pam said, moving her hands down calmly.
“Okay. Okay, I’m cool,” I lied under my breath.
“You’re gonna be good okay? I hope he’s nice.”
We walked back to our seats and grabbed our things, me, very slowly. Pam gave me one more encouraging glance and went to Jonah’s table. I breathed deeply once more, then looked over at Sasha’s table.
He wore a beautiful crisp tunic of navy blue, an equally immaculate jacket over that. I saw a glimpse of his wings. They were always folded neatly behind him. He never moved them until he left campus. I would watch those red wings of his fly away from school and long to be that high up in the air. He was a fire dragon, come to Lizanthix to accompany his father, the new dragon ambassador from Lyfax. Even though I was used to seeing other dragons flying around Lizanthix, fire dragons were not common. Especially red ones.
I stopped daydreaming and walked directly in front of Sasha. “Hey partner,” I said trying to be extra pleasant instead of hesitant. I leaned my head down a bit to catch his attention.
“Hi,” he said quietly, glancing up at me. Upon seeing me, his eyes widened. He raised an eyebrow. I heard him inhale sharply in surprise. His posture opened up.
His voice! It was a deep bass, with a curious rumble underneath. And something else. He didn’t speak to anyone, and never spoke during class, so I was a bit taken aback by it. The something else was so deep and quiet that I looked outside to see if the weather had changed. But it hadn’t. I looked back at him.
For a moment neither of us spoke. As if we were stuck under a spell. He breathed deeply and broke the silence. “Leila Sunscale?”
“Yes that’s me,” I confirmed. “Sasha Emberscale?”
“Yes. Nice to finally make your acquaintance.”
I put my hand out. He grasped mine. His hand was hot. Very much so. I placed my other hand on his too. I couldn’t help it. I felt the smile spread across my face. I was so obvious. He noticed, smiling in kind. I held his hand a bit too long. I pulled away gently, playing it cool. But it didn’t escape me that he was just as hesitant.
He looked at me. “I am aware that your grades are at the top of this class. I apologize for you getting me as your partner,” he said, somewhat bitterly.
“What? No, don’t worry about all that,” I said, shaking that negativity away. “We’ll be fine. Let’s focus on the topic for our assignment.”
He breathed deeply again. “Of course. I have thought about it. Please,” he said, gesturing toward the seat next to him. I was surprised he actually had an idea. I smiled. I was even more surprised when he pulled my seat out for me.
“Thank you,” I said shyly, sitting down. Such a gentleman. He had come prepared with ideas. I thought, perhaps, it wouldn’t be so bad if he was looking forward to it.
I could barely contain the pounding of my heart, sitting that close to him. I could now see more aspects of his appearance. Sasha was a large dragon. All his aspects spoke to this. His teeth were thick and sharp. His jaw strong. Even though he wore long sleeves—always now that I thought of it— they did not conceal the size of his arms nor the broadness of his shoulders. I saw the beautiful scales of his hands, his wrists underneath his sleeves. His scales in general were red tinged slightly with black. His claws were thick. They were black and shiny, like obsidian, reflecting the light.
I had always thought Sasha seemed intense, but his demeanor sitting there, not thinking much about his failed assignment, was subdued. Peaceful, even. His brow was still furrowed though. I wanted to rub the frustration away.
Almost as if he knew my thoughts, his face relaxed. I smiled at the notion that he could.
Sasha flipped through the pages of his notebook. He leaned over and pushed it toward me. “These are some ideas I wrote down over the week. They are all somewhat of similar…” he said softly. Now that he was closer and speaking at a normal volume, I could hear that rumble underneath again, like a motorbike almost. The sound of flames flickering? Or something else, I wondered.
An intense heat wafted from his mouth almost across the page. I moved my hand in the heat, admittedly enjoying the warmth until he clamped his mouth shut. He pinched the his eyebrows between his claws.
“I apologize,” he said, irritated with himself.
Incredulous, I looked at his face. “Apologize? For what?” I asked, confused. He opened his mouth as if to say something, but shut it again. This time the heat wafting out from his mouth drifted over my face. By the Goddess.
Sasha searched my expression curiously, probably to determine if I was serious. His eyes were dark, the slit pupils ringed in red, some slight bits of green. Like an apple. I knew I was staring too long, so I looked down. He did, too.
“I—” he began.
“Don’t apologize again. It’s fine,”I said, looking back at him. “Really. I don’t mind at all.”
He leaned forward onto his forearms and looked at me, skeptical. “Hmm,” he said. He directed his attention back to his notebook, but he regarded me from the corner of his eye. “If you are certain.”
“Mm hm…I’m certain,” I confirmed, dazed.
“Thank you,” he said, a smile playing over his mouth. He looked back down.
I must have been staring hard because I heard my phone vibrate. Shaking my head from my spell, I saw that I’d gotten a text. It was from Pam. OMG GRL Close your mouth! Ur basically drooling!
“Fuck!” I whispered, putting my phone down. I wiped my lower lip.
Sasha glanced back up at me. “What is it?” he asked.
“Nothing!” I said a bit too quickly. I casually texted back while professors back was turned.
oh my gods. I’m at a loss. Godsdamn. Fuck Shit
I had no idea what else to type but expletives. He just looked quizzically at me again, this time chuckling under his breath. His laugh was even deeper and slightly scratchier than the way he spoke.
Damn he’s got you like that?? Pam texted.
I could die. His voice is deep. Hes polite. he fine. Imma shoot my shot today, shit”
Yes! finally! Proud of u
I saw my professor turning toward us. I pushed my phone away.
“Right so. Ideas,” I said, trying to get back on track. “Which idea do you want to do the most? I’m game for any of them.”
He inclined his head toward the page and tapped it. “This one. The True Life of Dragons.”
“Cool. What’s the gist?” I asked, taking out my own notebook.
He lowered his voice. “We aren’t like what these books say. None of it is true. It is appalling and downright offensive some of the things we learn here. Dragontongue is much worse. As a native speaker, no one speaks that way. It is so robotic. It lacks any nuance at all.”
I sighed and leaned closer. “Yeah, it is nothing like my dialect…” I stopped, knowing I should not have said that. He raised his brow. I switched gears. “I know it’s all wrong. Sasha, you have near perfect grades in everything else; this grade isn’t your fault. This class has some alternative ideas about the truth.”
He sighed, heat gently rolling from his mouth, rubbing his brows. I felt my breath catch, feeling it on my hand again. Involuntarily, I moved my claws around in wonder. Every single time his breath touched me… It felt so nice. So warm. If he noticed he did not comment on it.
“I have noticed. I answer honestly, but get marked down because the truth does not line up with this horrible curriculum. I refuse to answer with lies. Of course no one here knows of the truth. Do you?”
I halted my hand movements and looked down in guilt. “Of course. I know all the discrepancies. I put up with this version to get good grades. I’m studying abroad in Lyfax when I’m able to.”
He smiled. “Ah, I see. That is good; you will like it there. Lyfax is diverse country. I am from Keldir, a large city full of many types of people. You will undoubtedly find new experiences. Meet other dragons,” he said pointedly. I smiled, relieved. “Lizanthix is…interesting so far, although I have found that, sometimes, many can be standoffish to us fire dragons.”
“I’m sorry to hear that Sasha,” I said, frowning.
Sasha idly spun a pencil in his claws. “It is no fault of yours. Your people have been quite nice thus far. I have many questions about them. In the meantime, what do you think of this idea? Explaining aspects of Dragonology that are missing from this curriculum?”
I thought about it. How fitting it would be to document actual dragonfolk instead of the sanitized history we learned. It would certainly make a splash in the university, that was certain. Plus, he seemed curious about my people.
“Okay,” I agreed. It was a gamble but an intriguing one. “Okay. I’m all in. There’s nothing wrong with a little controversy every now and again. The professor will be all up in arms. ‘Do you want to teach this class if my syllabus is not to your liking?’ she’d probably say,” I mimicked, rolling my eyes.
Sasha leaned forward on his elbows, fingers laced, and laughed. “I wish she would. I am more than qualified to do so,” he said, highly amused.
I felt my chin go all the way back and my brow raise in admiration.
“Oh really?” I inquired, grinning at his audacity. I had no idea just the notion of an educated gentleman turned me on, but here we were.
He smiled. “Indeed, I am. It is a long story. I will tell you later,” he said, gesturing at me.
Later? He wanted to speak with me again? My whole heart soared at that.
“Okay,” I said, approvingly, shyly.
Sasha nodded. “Back to our assignment. Let us create much controversy. Perhaps you would teach me of your dragon clans as well?”
“Perhaps…” I said, slowly smiling.
“We may use my personal books then, for research. So controversial,” he said, moving his hands dramatically toward me. I laughed at him.
Sasha removed his jacket for once, to get comfortable I supposed. The slits for his wings were closed using a long strip of what seemed to be magnets or something similar. They came apart smoothly as he slipped each wing out, and smoothly rejoined. His tunic was short sleeved, revealing his large arms and sleek red scales. I place my hand against my chest. My breath caught once again. Pam turned around to whisper something to me, but she stopped, shocked. She spun back around.
Sasha reached down into his bag and placed proper books on Dragonology on the table. I pried my eyes away from his arms.
“Okay Leila. We had better get to it then,” he rumbled.
My eyes grew so wide. Something else had changed in his voice but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Whatever it was, it was like he was taking my breath away. I always heard people say that, but now I truly understood.
Sasha looked as if he was deciding whether to say something. He hesitated, looking at me.
“Yes?” I inquired.
“I have been looking forward to working with you for some time,” he admitted.
I just moved my mouth around trying to form words. “Really?” I mustered.
“Truly. I have put off speaking with you for some reason. But I am glad we are partners now,” he said, gesturing toward me. I noticed that he talked with his hands a lot.
I felt like I could have a godsdamn heart attack with him talking about wanting to speak with me. I leaned on my elbow to stare at him. “Okay,” I said, a smile breaking across my face. “Me too, honestly.”
He looked surprised for a moment, and then laughed faintly looking away from me. “Okay,” he whispered, nodding. I wasn’t sure if it was directed at me or himself.
Regardless, I felt my face heating up looking at that joy that was emerging from this frustrated dragon, little by little. Why had I waited to say hi? I couldn’t believe myself. I wanted to cover my whole face and scream, thinking about him being right there confessing his interest in me, but I kept my composure somehow, a rare feat for me.
Sasha looked back toward me and moved the book between us. I was just about to open it when my phone buzzed. Ur in trouble
I looked at Sasha who was beginning to take notes, then back down.
Girl why he say he’s been wanting to work with ME!!!!? I’m just like... fuck yes. Hes mine. Cuff it
Get yours girl!!! Who else is gonna handle a fucking fire dragon of all people but you lol. Of all the dragons. he a challenge.
Im a challenge. Him and his perfect grades can figure me out. I’m trying to be his homework.
lolol girrrrrrl… hes in trouble.

2024.06.02 03:47 Dovahkiira How I got Fallout NV working on Windows 11 in 2024

No new features! No balance tweaks! Let me just play the game as close to vanilla as I can dammit!
Hi all. This post is 1000% the result of many, many hours trying to get this game to just WORK and I'm dead inside! So I wanted to make this guide, maybe it'll help you. Here's an in-depth guide to how I got the game to run GREAT on a modern Win 11 machine in 2024.
I have an AMD Ryzen 7800X3D 8-core processor, AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card. Game version is GOG v1.4.0.525 ultimate edition w/ all DLC. Tested on a brand new certified fresh copy of Win 11. Support for Ultrawide/other display support included at the end of the post.
---
---GAME INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS---
I will assume you already have a copy of NV and a mod manager such as Vortex. I only used Vortex while playing, so that's the mm I will be talking about in this post. Go get them if you don't.
  1. INSTALL THE GAME IN WINDOWS 7 COMPATIBILITY MODE (if you've already installed the game, completely uninstall it!). Right click setup application file>properties>compatibility tab>check Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 7>apply. Then run setup and follow the installer. DO NOT UPDATE DIRECTX OR INSTALL ANY C++ REDISTS OR .NET FRAMEWORK THRU THE INSTALLER. This is how to avoid the 404 file not found problem. Finish install as normal.
  2. Now go grab that stuff we ignored in step 1. DirectX here, you need C++ Redist x86 from here, and .NET 4 framework here. Just in case you don't have em. This should prevent any missing .dll file errors from happening once you try to run the game.
  3. Launch the game and make sure it can run at all lol. The launcher should pop up, go ahead and click Options and let it detect your hardware (it will probably be a little or a lot wrong just since it's an old game, a little more on that later). Then press Play. Even if it looks like total poop and crashes pretty quick, it's fine for now. Close game.
I'm gonna let y'all know right now that both Fallout 3 and NV in my experience cannot handle alt+tab like, at all, so get in the habit of maybe not doing that.
---VORTEX AND MOD INSTRUCTIONS---
Tbh, if you're willing to cough up the couple bucks, it might be worth it to get Nexus premium to uncap the download speeds if you have fast internet, but it's not necessary at all. Open up Vortex make sure you're logged in all that good stuff. Set to New Vegas obvi. Head over to Nexus Mods.
I would follow the order I list these pretty close because there are some dependencies on each other involved. Most are okay with just the mm/Vortex download option, though some do require manual install. I'll try to list out all instructions.
-ABSOLUTELY 100% NECESSARY MOD LIST:-
  1. NVSE - New Vegas Script Extender: Absolutely the first thing you should get no matter what, so many mods require this!!! Will generate nvse_loader.exe in the game root folder, run this app and not the default one when starting the game from now on!!
  2. 4GB Patcher: Necessary so that the game can use 4GB of RAM instead of the default 2. Follow install instructions on mod page (place .exe in the FNV game folder>right click it and Run as administrator). After it does it's thing I'd recommend launching the game normally again just to check on it. This is a good practice to do after installing mods anyways so you can catch mistakes or problems early, and because other mods are dependent on this fix. Close game.
  3. NVAC - New Vegas Anti Crash: Now apparently this one is a little controversial due to it being a hair outdated for new machines. If you experience a lot of crashes it may be worth it to get rid of this mod, but I have a high-end PC and no problems so far. See if it works for you.
  4. NVTF - New Vegas Tick Fix: THE REPLACEMENT FOR NEW VEGAS STUTTER REMOVER ON WIN 11! (Other guides will tell you to get NVSR, DO NOT!! If you have NVSR my recommendation is to get rid of it completely, it may be the reason your game isn't working). You will most likely need to edit the .ini file for this mod to work!! Right click on NVTF in Vortex>Open in File Manager>NVSE>Plugins>NVTF.ini (should open with Notepad by default). ctrl+f and make the following edits: bModifyDirectXBehavior = 1, iTweakRCSafeGuard = 2. SAVE and close.
  5. CASM_NV: Replaces the autosave system and adds a quicksave hotkey. Autosaves every 5 mins by default, but lots of customizability. The vanilla system can lead to crashes mid-/late-game once save files get big, so this prevents that. Be sure to disable autosaves within the in-game options menu itself.
  6. JIP LN NVSE Plugin: NVSE extension, required for some mods. Also fixes many engine bugs and lets you restore broken features. I didn't personally edit the .ini file for this mod, but the mod page has an extensive list of instructions if you want to!
  7. JohnnyGuitar NVSE: Another NVSE extension that's required for some mods. Once again I didn't really mess with this one.
  8. Unofficial Patch NVSE Plus: More game fixes>???>profit
  9. New Vegas Heap Replacer: Another mod that will help with performance, stutter, and crashes. Install manually by extracting or copying the contents of the zipped folder into the root NV folder. If a windows terminal pops up when you launch the game, it's working!
  10. YUP: Unofficial patch for NV and all DLC (doesn't require any DLC tho, there are individual files for those who don't have Ultimate Edition). Beeeeg bug fixer and enabler of broken features. Make sure YUP is at the top of the load order (in Plugins tab, YUP.esm goes after all game & DLC .esms and before all other .esms, and same thing for YUP.esp) LOOT/Vortex should sort it correctly, but double check if you encounter problems.
  11. LOOT: Separate app that sorts mods for ya, checks for compatibility issues, etc. Install as normal. I ran LOOT after I installed & enabled all mods in Vortex, then launched the game.
THIS SHOULD BE ALL YOU NEED TO RUN THE GAME!!! Be sure to enable plugins via the Plugins tab & deploy mods in Vortex before playing!! To double check, run FalloutNVLauncher.exe in root folder>Data Files>make sure they're checked off as they should be!
-"Not 100% necessary, but.....recommended" mod list:-
Here I'll get into the mods I have that aren't *necessary*, but sure do help make this game look pretty nice. Install if ya want! Note: some of these mods conflict with one another! I recommend following Vortex's recommendations and then using the aforementioned LOOT in order to help with load order.
  1. NMCs Texture Pack for New Vegas: Replaces most textures in-game, except for DLC. Small has only 1 file, Medium has 2, and Large has 3. I use the Large version with no trouble, but obviously get the one your PC can handle best.
  2. EVE - Essential Visual Enhancements: Has a main file and lots of optional files if you want em (I only use the main file). Should detect all installed DLC and install the appropriate mod file automatically - make sure all DLC are enabled in Vortex before downloading EVE to get the right version!
  3. Wasteland Flora and Terrain Overhaul: Adds a bunch of new tree & plant types. Doesn't make the Mojave green by any means, just adds a nice variety of new textures & hand-placed models. Some locations are "greener" than vanilla (like near water, for example), but I think it adds to it. Doesn't mess with any harvestables as far as I know.
  4. ELECTRO-CITY - Relighting the Wasteland: Does what it sounds like! Adds lots of new light fixtures and some engineers here and there. Optional plugin to add streetlights along highways & byways, enable/disable in the Plugins section of Vortex. There are lots more lighting overhauls out there, but I only use this one.
-"Not at all necessary, but maybe you'll like?" mod list:-
Okayyyyy so maybe I did do a couple QOL tweaks after all. Here's the rest of the mods I have. Install if ya want x2!
  1. Bottle That Water: Allows you to mass bottle water from any source if you have empty water bottles in your inventory, without a cumbersome menu. Just sneak and drink!
  2. Convenient Fast Travel Markers: Adds markers to basically every building in the Strip so you don't have to hike through several gates, and a couple more elsewhere as well. If you couldn't already tell, I'm lazy! (and this game is a lil repetitive sometimes...)
  3. Increased Run Speed: This is mainly because I'm used to sprinting in other games, and I feel that the top speed is the tiiiiiiniest bit too slow for me. This mod increases run speed from the default value of 4 to 6...which is actually too fast for my taste. So, I changed it in GECK! GECK is a tool that should be already included in your game root folder. To change run speed yourself: run GECK>File>Data...>uncheck all but Increasedspeed.esp>Set as Active File>wait for it to complete...might take a min>Gameplay>Settings...>Filter by fMoveRunMult>select and change value. I changed it from 6 to 5, just one value above vanilla. OK and SAVE. Close GECK. (Source for GECK fix: zefferia's comment on mod discussion page) Note: Vortex will detect a file change on next mod deployment, make sure to use newer file to apply your changes.
  4. Universal Air Tank: Once you get the rebreather, you get water breathing with any airtight helmet & armor. Includes optional files, read the mod description for further details.
  5. Stealth Suit MK II Mod: Modifies when the stealth suit auto-uses Stimpaks and Med-X (so she doesn't eat all your chems in one battle), and re-adds the broken speed multiplier when sneaking. 2 other optional versions as well.
---SUPPORT FOR ULTRAWIDE MONITORS/GENERAL DISPLAY SUPPORT---
Grabbed from this Steam discussion post, restated here. My monitor is 3440x1440, op's is 2560x1080. Refer to the original post for more detail!
  1. Launch the...launcher. FalloutNVLauncher.exe in root folder>Options>set resolution to 16:9 version of your 21:9 monitor (ie. for my monitor it is 2560x1440, for op's it is 1920x1080)>make all other graphics changes you want>OK>Exit launcher.
  2. Documents>My Games>FalloutNV>FalloutPrefs.ini (should open with Notepad by default)
  3. ctrl+f and make the following edits (using my specs for simplicity): iSize W=3440, iSize H=1440, fDefaultFOV=95, fRenderedTerminalZoom=75, fRenderedTerminalFOV=.25 (If terminal zoom is really messed up in-game, change fRenderedTerminalZoom from 75 to 40).
  4. SAVE and close. Note: you will have to do much of this process again if you ever switch to windowed mode. I recommend keeping a master modified copy of FalloutPrefs.ini somewhere like your Desktop so you can just copy+paste the file into Documents instead of editing manually every time.
---TROUBLESHOOTING---
  1. (EDIT TO ADD - HOW COULD I FORGET THE INFAMOUS SPOTIFY FIX???) Is stuttering audio driving you crazy?? Before launching the game, pull up your favorite music player and play some tunes. Then launch the game (you can pause the music at any time atp). This is the only surefire way to fix audio stuttering in my experience.
  2. Be sure you have followed all game install instructions first and foremost. Not installing the game in compatibility mode will most likely cause issues, and the game as well as certain mods need DirectX and the others.
  3. Run the game with the nvse_loader.exe, NOT default application! Make a shortcut or pin to taskbar for ease of use. You do not need to use the launcher every time you play.
  4. Check to make sure the game launches after each new mod installation. This will allow you to catch problems early on!
  5. Check the actual Nexus mod pages for special instructions with mods. Make sure all mods are installed following the mod author's instructions. Discussion posts are very helpful for troubleshooting.
  6. If at any point you experience insta-crashes or other problems loading save files, try New Game>loading the save once you are able to.
---NOTES---
  1. I experience crashes 99.9% of the time when executing cheats via the in-game terminal (~). I have no idea if this is due to a mod or just the game freaking out. I only ever use in-game cheats to fix the game (ie. fixing the bug where House/Caesar don't give back the platinum chip when they should...), so not a huge deal for me, but just fyi.
---
That is every single mod I have and changes that I made (that are relevant to this list, lol). I sincerely hope that this guide is helpful and serves its purpose as an updated masterpost for making NV accessible to those who want to play it in 2024. Please let me know if I forgot any details (I probably did), I will edit the post if I notice any. I'm actually not super duper computer savvy but I will try to help where I can.
ENJOY!!!!!! GO GET SHOT IN THE HEAD!!!! <3

2024.06.02 03:22 jacksalssome [Guide] Replacing your Ender 5 Plus stock board with the BTT Mini E3 V3, while keeping the original touchscreen and BL Touch

This god damn update was so friggen frustrating, any only 60% of that was self sabotage. I'v spent literally 20 hours on this.
Why do this?
I wanted to take advantage of a few features that a 32bit board provides, but also didn’t want to drop a load of money on a board and screen, I also like Marlin.
You might also want to look at the Fly-E3-Pro-v3 and the Mellow FLY 4.3, which should be a drop in replacement for the stock screen.
Needed parts:
Highly Suggested parts:
At least 4 dupoint to dupoint wire connectors, female ends.
Suggested parts:
Flashing new firmware to the touchscreen
First were going to flash the touchscreen with firmware that will work with the Mini E3, we’ll be using InsanityAutomation’s amazing fork of Marlin, at this time the (2.0bleeding branch doesn’t compile)
Download “latest release” from “https://github.com/Desuuuu/DGUS-reloaded/wiki/Flashing-the-firmware”
1) Extract File the file 2) Insert micro SD card 3) Format it as FAT32 with 4k blocks 4) Copy DWIN_SET into the freshly formatted mSD card 5) Power off your printer 6) Insert the mSD card into the screen of the printer.
7) Power the printer on 8) Wait about 30 seconds as the screen flashes, when it cycles through the pictures and says END!, then its done. 9) Power off the 3D Printer & Eject the mSD card. 10) Power it on to ensure the correct screen firmware flashed, it wont work for now.
Rewiring the touchscreen
Now you can swap out the boards and plug in all connectors, except the touchscreen and bl touch.
We will use the TFT pins on the Mini E3, NOT the EXP connector. Here is a pinout, TFT is at the bottom, actual pins are near the middle of the board: https://docs.vorondesign.com/build/electrical/images/miniE3-v30-pinout.png
Touchscreen to BTT Mini E3 V3
GND to GND TX2 to RX2 RX2 to TX2 5V to +5V
RX NEEDS TO GO TO TX, transmission needs to be received, hence RX,TX.
To connect to the BTT board you have a few options:
  • Use 4 female to female Dupont connectors
  • Create a new cable with a JST XH 6x1 connector on the touchscreen side and a 5x1 Dupont (or 4 individual connectors), so you don't have extra wires.
  • Cut off the connector on the touchscreen size and crimp a 5x1 Dupont connector or use 4 individual Dupont connectors.
Rewiring the BL Touch
Time to Configure Firmware:
Show the Bootscreen:

You need to put the number of your temp sensor instead of #, the stock ones are 1 and 1

2024.06.02 03:00 eneer14 MRI results - DIE found but surgery not recommended?

I recently had a consult with a Nook doctor who is well regarded in the endo world, however, she did not recommend surgery based on my MRI results.
2024.06.02 02:21 Worldly_Ordinary Tabi Boot sizing advice - women’s 8cm heel

I know this is a question asked millions of times on this sub, but i don’t have access to a margiela store nearby, and these are my first pair of designer boots i’m really eyeing out.
I’ve got a pair of miharas that are a 37 which fit perfect, US 7 women’s in CDG converse (~37.5 EU), 5.5Y in Jordan 1s, 6Y in Jordan 4s.
Im stuck between a 37.5 EU (24.5cm on the size chart on the margiela website) and a 37 EU (24cm) - Do tabis stretch much when worn, or should i stick TTS? thanks!

2024.06.02 02:09 LittleMikan Is anyone here going to buy the new Xiao Anta shoes or just familiar with Anta's sizing in general?

I'm absolutely in love with the new Xiao shoes, but I'm really unsure what size would be the best for me, so I thought there might be someone else here who is interested in the shoes or just familiar with Anta as a brand in general.
My feet are ~22cm x 9cm, so following the chart I should pick 35.5, but I'm worried they will be too narrow and can't find any information about how wide their shoes are at all.
I appreciate everyone who can help me out a little!

2024.06.02 01:44 DinosAndPlanesFan Six Spotted Tiger Beetle vs Bold Jumping Spider vs Giant Leafcutter Ant Major

Some stats for you:
Six Spotted Tiger Beetle: Size: 0.6 inches (about 15ish mm) Advantages: Definitely the fastest one here, well armored, good eyesight, and has nasty jaws Disadvantages: It’s the smallest one here
Bold Jumping Spider: Size: 0.7 inches (about 17 mm) Advantages: Easily the most agile one, has fangs, excellent climber, and has some of the best eyesight of any arthropod, and is also pretty smart Disadvantages: I would think it probably has pretty weak armor
Leafcutter Ant Major: Size 0.7 inches (about 18 mm) Advantages: Is the biggest and probably strongest one here, extremely strong jaws, and probably has lots of experience from it’s extremely hostile native range Disadvantages: Terrible eyesight, and is the slowest one here
Arena is a 10 gallon rainforest terrarium with sticks, live plants, and rocks for the critters to use to their advantage
Bonus: if the 3 team up, can they take down an American Mantis in the same enclosure?

2024.06.02 01:12 Diver708 2 CM Stone

Just got my CT results put on my chart. Shows I have a loose 2 CM stone, a 1.1x1.4 CM attached and a few 1-2 mm attached all in my left kidney. I go to the Dr Tuesday to discuss all of this. My question is are the people on her that have had this size of stone and what was the procedure to remove them?
I’ve been passing uric stones for the past 7 years. Last August I passed a 8.5mm literally the night before my surgery to remove it. None of these large stones were on my last CT scan so it amazes me they can grow so fast. It just worries me that they might have to actually go thru my back and cut into my kidney to get the evil demons out. Has any one had this done to them? I know I’m about to have surgery to remove them, because the big one moves around and causes me to pee blood everyday. Would just like to hear stories from anyone that has had this size stone and what procedures they had to remove them.
