I recently had the chance to use the AGM Taipan TM10-256 Thermal Imaging Monocular, and I must say, it was quite the experience. The first thing that caught my eye was the high-sensitivity built-in thermal detector. It allowed me to see even in complete darkness, which proved invaluable during my nighttime hike.
One of the standout features of this monocular was the hot spot mark. It detected and marked the hottest spot of the highest temperature, which came in handy when I needed to locate a warm area while camping. The mode switch, supporting both paddle switch and distance measurement, also made the device versatile and easy to use in various scenarios.
However, there were a few areas where it could use some improvement. For instance, the instructions were not user-friendly, making it a bit challenging to figure out how to use the device initially. Additionally, the lens protection only came with one end, which would have been more convenient with protection on both sides. Finally, the thermals had difficulty penetrating glass, which I noticed when using it in a room with large windows.
Despite these minor issues, I found the monocular to be an excellent investment for those who need an efficient, reliable thermal device. Its clear view and ability to detect hot spots make it a valuable tool for hunting, hiking, and other outdoor activities.

The Rattler TC35-640 is easily attached to rifle scopes with magnification up to 8x for long-range use. Its onboard Wi-Fi module allows for live video streaming and recording of videos and images via an app. Overall, the AGM Rattler TC35-640 has been a reliable and user-friendly addition to my toolkit. Having used the AGM Global Vision PVS-7 night vision goggles for a while now, I can confidently say that this device truly stands out in its field. As someone who frequently spends time outdoors, I've found the goggles to be incredibly reliable and efficient.
One aspect that blew me away was the automatic brightness control. It effortlessly adjusts the image's brightness in various lighting conditions, ensuring that I always have a clear view of the environment around me. The built-in infrared illuminator also adds a level of stealth that is pretty impressive. While I've had to get used to the bright light cut-off feature, I've come to appreciate its benefits in protecting the goggles' internal components.
The device is quite versatile, offering both handheld and head/helmet mounting options. The flip-up shut-off feature that comes with the optional helmet mount system is particularly handy in my line of work. When I heard about the AGM Fuzion LRF TM35-640 Thermal Monocular, I had high hopes for this powerful tool in my hunting adventures. The high sensitivity thermal detector definitely exceeded my expectations, providing me with clear and detailed thermal images even in the lowest light conditions. The fast 50Hz imaging made every frame smooth and fluid, while the digital zoom allowed me to get a closer look at distant targets without losing clarity.
One feature that really stood out to me was the bi-spectrum image fusion, which combined both thermal and visible light images for better target recognition. The detail enhancement technology and the ability to choose between just thermal or visible view, or even a combination of the two, made this monocular incredibly versatile. The recording function and built-in 16 GB EMMC were great for saving memorable moments during my outdoor activities.
While there weren't too many negatives, I did find that the waterproof feature (IP67) seemed a bit too noticeable in the design. It took some getting used to, but it didn't really affect the overall functionality of the device. Another small downside was that the user interface wasn't the most intuitive, but I quickly learned how to navigate the settings after a few tries.

The AGM Wolf-7 Pro NL1 Night Vision Goggle has definitely made quite an impression in my life. I use it mostly when I sneak out for late-night hikes, and it has come in quite handy.
The low battery indicator is always flashing, but I've never run out of power during a hike. My favorite feature might be the automatic brightness control - infrared illuminator is a must.
Despite the brightness, it has a pretty low power consumption and can last for up to 40 hours on alkaline batteries when infrared is off. But if you need it, there's an inbuilt infrared illuminator that can deliver an impressive performance - bright enough to light up the darkest forest, but not visible to the naked eye. The diopter adjustment is simple and intuitive to use, and the focus range is adequate for a variety of distances, even under low light conditions.
Additionally, the built-in LED indicators are a great added touch to keep track of the battery life and infrared status. In the world of rugged, lightweight multi-purpose night vision devices, the AGM NVG-40 3AW1 Dual Tube Night Vision Goggle/Binocular stands out as a trusty companion. Having used this device in various challenging environments, I can attest to its durability and performance in the dark.
The NVG Interface Shoe, a preinstalled feature, enables seamless installation onto standard dovetail-type headset and helmet mounts, providing a secure fit for all-night operations. The Bayonet/Horn Interface Shoe, which is included, accomplishes the same task for standard bayonet/horn-type headset and helmet mounts. These versatile features allow for optimal compatibility and ease of use.
Additionally, the Mini-Rail Interface Shoe provides the option to mount the NVG to combat helmets or weapons for added functionality. This flexibility ensures that you'll always have the right setup for your specific needs.

As a night vision enthusiast, I recently had the chance to test out the AGM NVG-40 NW1 Night Vision Goggles. These goggles pack a punch when it comes to performance and features.
First off, the image quality is exceptional. The image intensifier tube with Gen 2+ "White Phosphor Level 1" technology provides a clear and bright image, just like daylight. I could easily spot animals and other objects in low-light conditions, making them perfect for wildlife viewing or nighttime surveillance.
One highlight of these goggles is the adjustable diopter, which allows you to fine-tune the image focus to your eyes. This was a game-changer for me as it ensured a sharp and comfortable view, even after prolonged use.
Now, let's talk about the battery life - it blew me away! 80 hours of continuous use on a single battery, now that's impressive. It's perfect for those long nighttime adventures where you don't want to worry about carrying extra batteries.
However, there were a couple of things I wished were better. The field of view (40°) could have been wider, as it sometimes felt a bit constricting when trying to track moving objects. Also, the head mount was a bit tricky to set up, but once I got it right, it worked well.
Overall, the AGM NVG-40 NW1 Night Vision Goggles are a fantastic choice for anyone looking for top-notch night vision technology without breaking the bank. Their performance, durability, and features make them a great value for the price.

🔗Compact, High-Resolution Dual-Spectrum Thermal Binoculars with GPS Module

I recently tried out the AGM Voyage LRF TB75-640 Thermal Binoculars, and let me tell you, it's quite the impressive piece of equipment. Out in the field, the binoculars served as my trusty sidekick, helping me locate and identify all kinds of objects.
One feature that really stood out for me was the dual-spectrum image fusion and object highlight. It made it incredibly easy to enhance details and recognize targets. The optical resolution of 2560x1440 was also a game-changer, ensuring sharp images even in the most challenging environments – think smoke, fog, rain, and snow. The NETD less than 20 mK was a powerful feature, making it possible to detect heat signatures from great distances.
However, there were a few downsides too. While the 12lb weight was manageable, I couldn't help but wish it were just a tad more lightweight for extended use. The same went for the 1024x768 OLED display; it was a bit low-resolution compared to what I'm accustomed to.
Overall, the AGM Voyage LRF TB75-640 Thermal Binoculars are a great tool if you're in the market for thermal imaging equipment. They're versatile, user-friendly, and offer fantastic image quality. Just remember that the weight and display resolution might be less than ideal for some users.

2024.06.02 05:56 Kale_Mindless scalping, price jumps, etc

i’ve been stalking this subreddit for a while now and every once in a while a post comes up about the inflation of gal brand prices, so i wanted to talk and explain about why that might be (disclaimer: i almost strictly do agejo and will mostly be talking about the big, well known brands)
a couple reasons may be, 1. economic inflation and the conversion rate of yen/to other currencies fluctuating
  1. the rarity of items and how it’s becoming more difficult to get original brand seeing as it’s not produced anymore (ties into 3)
  2. depending on the brand, some pieces may have been produced 20 years ago, so when in good condition (new, unused) it drives a higher price
  3. the original brand was expensive anyway (jesus diamante, la parfait) or higher end (d.i.a, ma*rs)
  4. people wanting to get import costs back depending on the country, importing from japan can be expensive and adds to the price of reselling
  5. gal is on the decline and nowhere near as popular as it once was
  6. scalping for profit
back when gal brand was still around, in magazine/scans you can see some of the original prices. some ma*rs pieces were 30,000¥, and back then the conversion rate was MUCH different than it is today. for example, some d.i.a tops costed closer to 70-90$, with that being 6,000¥-7,000¥, while 6,000¥ today is 40$
japan has (since 2022 imo) also started upping the prices of gal brand, either seeing it become more difficult to find or seeing the western community doing it. brands like jesus diamante have gone down in price (such as the coats originally costing 180,000¥) while ma*rs, d.i.a, alba rosa, etc have gone up in price. i truly think that’s because the more the years go by and gal brand isn’t being produced, it becomes more difficult to find, so people are less likely to give it up, and all the other reasons i stated above.
i agree that the prices of certain have become ABSURD (that one ma*rs dress on mercari going for 3,000$, while it’s original price was 50,000¥) but i think to a degree, wanting to gain money back or selling a rare piece for more now that it’s harder to find, is fine.
but you don’t need the brand to be gal, gal is more than brand name clothes. i hope this post was able to address some of the reasons i personally think the prices have shot up drastically, please be kind and respectful 💝

2024.06.02 05:08 MathematicianDull664 Disney Trip 5/31 review

WaltDisneyWorld would not let me post my travel thoughts, so posting here for others.
Firstly I want to say that I've been visiting Disney world since regularly for 40 years and I know all the parks and the history very well. In the early 2000's I lived in Windermere directly behind the Magic Kingdom and was a annual passholder. I'm also a Disney stock holder, so I follow the financials of the company and am aware of most if not all of the management decisions that have been made regarding the revenue of the parks and cost of running them. My hope is that this channel is monitored by Disney management personnel and some of my observations from an experience standpoint will fall on (mouse) ears.
I now live in Texas and have not been to any of the Disney parks for many years, so I was eager to take my 9 year old for her birthday to see the new attractions that everyone has been talking about this week (5/28 - 5/31). I had some old park hopper tickets that I was able to update to the new card system, which I immediately found complicated and arbitrary. I received several plastic cards to replace the paper tickets I had, but I could only determine what each of the cards had remaining on them by looking up each cards serial number using the Disney "Experiences" app. Now if you use Genie+ or Lighting Lane pass, every ride you go on requires you scan either your card, phone, or as I later discovered my iWatch if I paired it with the "Experience App". This required me to constantly pull out my card which quickly grew tiresome. My daughter saw everyone with a LED mickey wristband, which I learned was called a Magicband. I found out that it could be used to scan her into the rides and had an added benefit of playing a little audio clip on gold character statues around the park, and vibrated during fireworks, so I bought the cheapest one @ $35. A smart move by Disney to solve a problem with another upsell that they created in the first place.
I'm a software developer, so most technology does not usually confuse me, but the design of the "Experiences" app is pretty bad. It's very hard to get the information you need, the features are categorized poorly, not explained well, and navigation is redundant and unintuitive. I really don't know how the average family makes heads or tails of it. I think that the feature that I utilized the most was the Cast Member Chat, because they were the only one that could make any sense of the extensive rules and restrictions that have been added to all the parks and access. I leaned on the Disney ticket agent who was a 26 year Disney employee veteran to help setup which parks my daughter and I were interested in. I had to purchase an additional child's single day ticket ($5 off the $179 adult ticket) so I had the ticket agent set that up as well. The ticketing process is so confusing that even the 26 year Disney employee had a problem with the setup that I'll explain later.
The first day we went to Epcot for the Guardians Coaster, Ratatouille, and the Frozen ride what I had not seen before. I was told that to reserve the Guardians ride, I needed to get on the "Experiences" app at 7am to reserve a virtual queue in line. I loaded the app at 6:55am and kept refreshing until at 7 the screen switched to "Press to enter the Virtual Queue" button appeared. In the 4 seconds it took me to read the text on the page, the app told me that the virtual queue was already full and I would now have to wait until 1pm to try again or buy a lighting lane pass for $36 for the 2 of us. I wanted to park hop to Magic Kingdom and you are required to be in the park at 1pm to try the queue again so I simply bought the lighting pass to get it over with rather than spend my vacation pulling out my phone out and checking my watch and queue status all day.
Just as a FYI, I was successful queueing the next day for Tron, by using the same technique but hitting the "Press to enter the Virtual Queue" immediately, a process that I estimate took me 2 total seconds. Doing so I received a queue group of 72 which resulted in our group being called at 2:45pm in the afternoon. Needless to say I was left with a very bad taste in my mouth as I had to be on my phone at 7am every morning with mixed success and then even when I was successful I constantly had to check my phone to see where I was in the queue to avoid missing our place. Even my 9 year old was so annoyed by my phone obsession and eventually suggested that we only check the phone after we get off a ride.
We had to scan our fingers on the initial check in, which I'd heard about to lock our tickets to us. As a privacy advocate I'm not super excited about this, nor the idea that I cannot easily swap users of the card to another family member at my choosing, but I'm sure that others have expressed these concerns so I won't elaborate further. We were staying at a Disney Resort, so we arrived at the Epcot back entrance exactly at 8:30am to rope drop Ratatouille. Apparently that was everyone else's idea because the outdoor line queue for Ratatouille was already at 35 minutes when we arrived. When we did get on the ride, I was very underwhelmed with the presentation and felt that the quality of what I had known Disney to produce had severely dropped. I had to wear 3D glasses on a practical dark ride that moved in parts from 3D projection screens to small room breaks that had no characters or effects which required my to constantly remove and again put on the glasses to see anything clearly. As far as I could see there were no animatronics or real characters within the practical scenes and the 3D screens were dark, poorly aligned when attempting to create false parallax, and frequently distorted. Overall it reminded me of a rip-off of the Spiderman ride at Universal that was made about 10 years ago.
I bought 2 Genie+ passes in addition to the $36 Guardians Lighting Lane passes, so that added another $100 to our park tickets. As soon as we got in the park I made a Genie+ reservation for the Frozen ride, but the first available slot was 1:45pm, so I guess that's a popular one too. Since we had some time to wait for our 11:15am Guardians Lighting Lane reserve, we walked around world showcase, which was pretty much how I remember it and walk over to the new Moana water thing. I've probably been to Epcot about 200 times so I thought I knew my way around pretty well, but when I got the old communicore fountain area I got completely lost by the labyrinth of narrow paths and hidden turns. It seems Disney's original rule of designing a park to lead the patron to the next focal point has not been adopted by the current designers. The moana experience was wedged in between the restrooms between The Land and Living Seas pavilions, which was an odd choice when it seems they could have put it where the old communicore fountain was to both add tropical beauty to that previously dull area as well as implement an impressive water feature. As it is installed now, the experience is hidden, cramped, and overall does not really communicate the naturalist messaging that the numerous signs in the pathway claimed to resemble.
There was also a new choke point that was introduced between Spaceship Earth and the Land where the only path on that side of the park was about 12 feet wide. A great idea now that every other family either has a double wide stroller or electric scooter taking up even more of the pathway than they used to. I also noticed this at Hollywood Studios in the new Galaxy Edge area. Not sure why the current Disney design team thinks the paths in the parks should narrower than they were before, but my assumption is that it's a cost saving measure.
We made it on the new Guardians coaster with our lighting pass, and I appreciate that we did not have to wait in the regular queue and got on the preshow portion of the ride in 5 minutes. I thought the ride was ok, not great with heavy use of video projection in both the preshow and ride. The extent of practical effects was a giant planet that you rotate around which seems flat and unrealistic. For a ride that is supposed to be the new high standard of Disney Imagineering, it seems that a nearly completely reliance on some projection screens in a dark coaster seems cheap and uninspired. Does anyone remember the giant glowing future city at the end of World of Motion? How did we go from that to this?
We finished Epcot at the Frozen ride, which was lackluster with no story, cheap animatronic character that had disturbing glowing projection faces with dead stares. Not that the Norway ride was that great, but it at least and some interesting scenery, a troll with fiber optics and a drop with the Miniature practical Storm and Oil Rig which were slightly memorable. To replace it with a bunch of flat, black light painted wood panels to recreate one of the highest grossing animated modern era Disney films seems uninspired and unimaginative. I mean they couldn't even design an interesting mirrocrystal room for Elsa's Ice Palace that would make you feel like your are in a much bigger and impressive space?
The next day we went to Hollywood Studios and I paid another $44 for both of us to go on Rise of Resistance and $70 for 2 more Genie+ passes, so another $114 in addition to the cost of the park tickets. We did Tower of Terror first which thankfully has not been redesigned and still holds up over the years, even though I think the drops have been reduced and shortened, a change I'm sure my 9 year old did not have any objection with.
We made our way over to the new Pixar area which I found to be very garish and infantile, more like if McDonalds designed a theme park, not Disney or Pixar. The wait for Slinks coaster was already 90 minutes at 10:30am and even though we had the Genie+ pass, it was not available so we skipped it. On another note it was already 94 degrees and there is no shade in most areas of the new areas of this park other than some haphazardly placed umbrellas on the sides of the path that guests huddle underneath. It's like the park designers have never visited Florida in summer or simply don't care if anyone bakes in the sun.
We made it to the Star Wars area and I found it very confusing and mazelike. I never knew where I was, as the other areas I mentioned there were multiple choke points in the paths in a area that proved to be the most crowded in the park. The detailing of the buildings and nature features seemed cheapy executed and fake. They didn't really remind me much of the Star Wars universe and would barely hold up in an episode of the Mandalorian. My favorite experience by far was the Millennium Falcon ride where my daughter and I got to pilot the ship which was a dream experience. Even the queue area of this ride is amazing with the level of detail and nostalgia that I would expect from a E-Ticket Disney Ride.
Rise of the Resistance was fine, not worth $44, containing more of the poorly executed fake projection screens effects and motion vehicles traveling though cheaply constructed Empire/Order hallways. I'm also 95% sure that the Kylo Ren animatronic at the end is the recycled from the Wicked Witch from Great Movie Ride. I feel like the animation was even recycled.
Last day we went to Magic Kingdom with the intention of riding Tron and Snow White Mine Train. I bought Lighting Lane passes for both rides adding another $66 ($26 for SN and $40 for Tron) to the tickets. I again got up at 7am to enter the virtual raffle for the Tron queue, and discovered that I could now add my daughter to the queue group. I immediately contacted a Disney chat agent who discovered that the helpful Disney ticket agent who I purchased a single day ticket to Magic Kingdom had put in the wrong date for our visit. By doing so, it effectively made my daughter ticket ineligible for virtual queues (and may have not granted her access to the park for the day I paid for). Thankfully the online agent was able to change to date so I could actually use the $175 single park ticket that I bought the night before I intended to use it.
Snow White was well done and fun, sort of a combination or Matterhorn and Barnstormer. I did notice that it also contained the cheap animatronic characters that had disturbing glowing projection faces like the Frozen ride. Is it that really that hard to maintain facial articulation on audioanimatronics? Disney did it since Carousel of Progress and the projection faces seem like a huge step backward.
Tron was what I was most excited about being envious of the Tokyo version. The building that houses Tron is impressive and clearly designed to be a key feature to draw guests in with an extended walkway and LED effects on the scaffolding. I was able to reserve a virtual queue for the day, so I reserved a 10:00pm Lighting Lane pass. I preferred the night ride, as there was more constant immersion with indoooutdoor areas of the coaster. I thought the reclined ride cars were unique and well done if not a bit uncomfortable. They are slightly constrictive how they hold you in and I noticed that a child in the car in front of me was restrained to tightly and started to have trouble breathing screaming for help from her parents by the end of the ride, which was unsettling, so consider asking for the last car that does not have this type of restraint for little ones. The ride again was plagued with projection screens inside the ride in lieu of practical effects and reminded me or Guardians. We also bought a Diecast Tron lightbike with LEDs in the giftshop and upon getting home the bike was made in China, was broken and did not illuminate.
After all the travel, tacked on cost of all the addons, special ride passes, and the inconvenience of the highly restrictive and expensive park tickets and the cheaper quality of the rides, I don't feel like Disney offers a good value or exceptional experience anymore. I actually felt bad for families with several kids that clearly were spending thousands of dollars for a vacation that honestly felt more like a job most of the time. I also noticed cast members that were either rude, impatient, or audibly complaining about their job position, shift, the heat, or anything else that an average worker would complain about. I understand that Disney employees are regular people and not robots, but previously I always felt that Disney employees were extremely proud to be working at Disney World and it reflected in how they treated guests and it added to the magic. Now I just felt like I'm was six flags and everyone was just counting the minutes until they could go home. I'm glad that I could take my daughter and have the experience with her, but I will not be returning to Disney World any time soon as it seems that the company and how they value the guest experience has diminished significantly from what I remember.

my dry eyes started 3 years ago after i strted going through something that causes me the inability to focus ,it wasn't directly caused by it but i could not even focus but i forced my eyes a lot which caused eye strain and that caused dryeyes , fast forward in the vacation after the exams( that involved alot of focus in screens) , i got hit by the craziest pain ever especially in my right eye, it itched like hell , i felt like someone was stabbing it , it was the worst 3 months of my life i thought my eyes were gone
after doing a scan the results said that i had a sinus infection , it did go after treating it anyway i took a year off uni, my eyes did not hurt , i even started playing video games and watching youtube without a problem
i got back to uni this year , the exams of the first semester did go normal , but now after the exams of the 2nd semester ( they lasted almost 3 weeks and i pushed my limits cuz i was not prepared and i still have focusing problems , and i mostly study with my pc ), for the first time in a long while i feel like my eyes are dry and tired and they are itching and getting red , the problem is i still have a lot exams left ( that i have to redo cuz i failed, they will last 2 weeks) ,
i feel like i'm burntout and i don't have the energy and focus for them tbh i don't know what to do , i really wanna pass this year and get rid of it and make my parents happy , on the other hand if that success will costs my eyes health , i don't wanna pay that price , anything but my eyes , i dont wanna go through that hell that i mentionned earlier again

2024.06.02 01:04 TheJamesRussle Halo: Space Station Evolved Playtest Weekend (New server box 6:30pm CST today)

Halo: Space Station Evolved Playtest Weekend (New server box 6:30pm CST today)
Hey there again it's the Halo:SSE host here dropping in after sometime to announce changes we're thrilled to introduce you to all this weekend! The main news for this posting is we will be testing out some new experimental combat changes after taking you're feedback and getting to work on it, hopefully these changes will makes certain factors of the play experience is more smooth and easier to get into for new players! And for those who are well versed in our server here a break down below as well, we hope to see you all come drop by and test out the new server box (less lag) and combat changes this weekend so you can give us feedback so we can improve the codebase so everyone can have fun and grow our community and have peeps always playing! Note: We are looking for wiki maintainers and general dev staff too!
Experimental combat changes
  • Armor thickness on your uniform, gloves, boots, helmet and armor slowly recovers over the course of just over three minutes.
  • Suppression gives out less camera shake, but more visual occlusion.
  • Oxycodone, specifically, starts with a low painkill effect that gets better as time passes.
  • Painkillers and speedboosting chemicals now have a lessening effect the longer they are in your system. This caps at 30% effectiveness.
  • Backend changes etc.
What is Halo:SSE
HaloStation (Also known as Halo: Space Station Evolved, or projectunsc) is a medium-RP PVP oriented server that runs on Baystation code. It largely focuses on player-oriented combat as two or sometimes even three factions - consisting of the UNSC, the Covenant, and the Insurrection/URF - battle for supremacy in a variety of gamemodes to Immerse yourself in a world where Halo lore seamlessly blends with the chaotic gameplay of Space Station 13. From energy swords to Warthogs, every aspect has been tailored to bring the authenticity of Halo to the space station. Whether you're a fan of intense combat scenarios or prefer slower roleplay vibes with others, there's a role for every player and their playstyle!
What gamemodes does Halo:SSE have?
  • Reclamation is a PVP gamemode largely similar to the Invasion gamemode from Halo: Reach. The UNSC is tasked with defending an Orbital Defense Platform (ODP) and the local planet from an encroaching Covenant invasion, while the Covenant must destroy the ODP by planting a bomb, scanning the colony for a Forerunner artifact, and then purging the heretics' planet in a storm of plasma. An Insurrection version of this also exists, but with the URF working to liberate the planet from UNSC control.
  • Capture and Hold is a Covenant vs UNSC gamemode that mimics the Territories gamemode, with both faction fighting for control over various capture points to accumulate more points than the other team by the end of the round.
  • System Conquest is an even larger scale version of Outer Colonies, except the battle isn't just limited to one planet but many! Essentially pulls random set of objectives out of a bag for all three factions (UNSC, URF, Covenant) simply taking over one planet to destroying all of the faction bases of every faction in the round, and while this gamemode is a work-in-progress, it is the ultimate gamemode for those looking to wage a two-hour war of the worlds while also giving space for roleplay to breathe as you can also be a colonist stuck in middle of the war, or civ ship crew exploring space/ trading goods between the colonies around or even be a GCPD officeKS7 marshal
  • Outer Colonies is a variant of Reclamation, except with a twist - it's a three-way war between the Covenant, the UNSC, and the URF!
  • Firefight is a PVE gamemode where a group of players must hold out against encroaching hordes of AI enemies, while also struggling to keep their own teammates alive and their guns well-stocked on ammo. This comes in three variants; UNSC versus Covenant (Firefight), UNSC versus Flood (Stranded), and Covenant versus UNSC (Crusade).
  • Achlys Is another PVE gamemode with horror elements that recreate the events of the short film Mona Lisa and try to make your escape off a Flood-infested ship!
  • More to come soon!
What unique features does HaloStation offer?
  • SPACE COMBAT! Engage in epic battles with powerful space ships among the stars! Take down an enemy's shields and board their ship to blow it up or even hijack it!
  • FUNCTIONAL VEHICLES Demolish your enemies with the mighty Scorpion tank, run over hordes of Grunts with the reliable Warthog, run over that pesky Hellbringer with a Ghost, or deliver your teammates straight into battle from the comfort of a Phantom! We also have MECHS and AIRCRAFT, such as the Banshee, the Sparrowhawk, the Goblin, and the HRUNTING
  • PLAYABLE SPARTANS, ODSTS, AND COVENANT! Every single race in the Covenant is playable (yes, even Prophets and Engineers!) and have their own unique stats - Drones, for example, have built-in jetpacks that let them fly not just over obstacles but up and down z-levels! Grunts have built-in EVA functionality! Engineers can heal the wounded or build and repair structures on the fly!
  • FUNCTIONAL FLOOD AND FORERUNNER AI/PROMETHEANS!
What are some of the recent changes to HaloStation?
  • New Melee combat system: Various melee weapons now have stances you can switch to via a verb on the item. Stances provide attack combos with different damage, ap and speed modifiers. Many weapons will have a stance that allows for multi tile swipe attacks. Polearms like the honor guard staff and brute hammer have an extra tile of range in their stances.
  • Goon/Runechat added to server
  • specialized audible emotes have been added to most if not all races (*help in game to get list)
  • Cryo medical update
  • Certain roles such as Elite Minors, Brute Minors, ODSTs, and Hellbringers no longer require a whitelist to play as mean to let new player try out new roles!
  • We added new weather systems to all planets that change each round
  • NPC interaction menus
  • Improvements to RnD and Cargo!
  • New QoL sounds a lot new guns and vehicles
  • A bunch of gun balance changes
  • EVA Equipment update : The most important of these changes is the new integrated jetpacks in every EVA suit, which will allow the user to move freely in space at no cost.
  • Banished (soon)

2024.06.02 00:29 Dantheman5127 Instagram Fake Muse Scam

There was an Instagram muse scam. They told me they would pay me money to use my picture as a muse for an oil painting. They sent me money at first through a digital check which I foolishly scanned and deposited into my chase bank app. This happened a few different times with varying amounts. Then they asked me to send random numbers and names "Zelle" payments through my chase app. Which again I foolishly did and then I realized something fishy. I realized that why couldn't they just directly send it to them? Then I looked into it and turns out these checks will most likely bounce back within 30 days and I will have to pay that amount. Money that I never got and money that I don't have. I contacted chase bank, called them for 20 minutes, explained the entire situation to them. They said since I authorized the transactions (Zelle), since I myself scanned the checks, there's nothing they can do because of policies. I'm writing this to inform others please for your own sake DO NOT fall for this silly scam. I don’t know how I fell for it but it was a very stupid and costly mistake. If anyone knows anything about this or if there's any possible way to stop the money or send it back please let me know. And please nobody tell me "it's not possible" or "you're just dumb" yeah chase already told me that. I'm aware. Thanks.

2024.06.01 23:32 Intelligent_Gate_227 Cheap tabloid printer for street art

What would you like to accomplish?

I am looking for a wide format (?) or least like tabloid sized paper color printer. This will be for wheatpasting so quality is less important than affordable ink etc .

Are there any models you are currently looking at?

Been searching FB marketplace and EBay and finding a good amount of Canon Pixmas but still pretty open ended. I like the idea of refillable ink / being able to use off brand ink but again flexible.

More Details:

Questions Answers
Budget: <$200 if possible, flexible if good deal
Country: USA
Color or black and white: Color
Laser or ink printer: Ink (I mean unless there is laser I haven’t found?)
New or used: Either
Multi-function: Not necessary if it helps keep the cost down, scan would be great though.
Duplex Printing: not needed
Home or business: home
Printing content: flyers / graphic design
Printing frequency: 50 pages per month minimum. Entirely depends on ink costs. I would love to print as much as possible.
Pages per minute : dont care!
Page size: Tabloid
Device printing from: Mac
Connection type: WiFi or wired

Any other details:

Thanks!

2024.06.01 23:23 Demon_Deity Marred Migration - Chapter 27

Memory Transcription Subject: Talyn, Extermination Guild Paramedic, Sivkit Grand Herd.
First/Previous/Next
I… I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out why a demon would go behind her superiors for some prey.
Variah hasn’t stopped visiting this cage… t-though, I try to limit exchanging words with the beast as her proximity gnaws at my nerves to no end. Her moving maw leaves an unobstructed view at a row of endless pointed teeth that could easily crush through Sivkit bones, if at any moment she deemed that her desire. However, after all this time… she hadn't mauled me yet.
Nor did any of the other, more openly wicked beasts let their instincts get the better of them either, so I suspect that these demons can reign in their bloodlust better than the Arxur can, a-at least for practical reasons, but I don't exactly want to put that to a test. D-Damnit, why is she doing this? It’s difficult to keep my mind off it when everything else was a failure.
I… I’ve been trying to find a way to break free ever since the predator keeping me company gave her warning about the rest of her kind. N-not that I needed any monster to clue me in on their malicious intent or more prompting to look for a way out of here, but so far, any avenue to escape seems completely futile, at least… f-for now. Can’t give up.
J-Just remember your training… t-though it’s not exactly useful here.
Most of my guild practice had me safely locked within a medical wagon, waiting around on standby in case a front line exterminator suffered a mauling. I- I don’t have enough personal experience with this sort of thing to keep myself level headed, t-to know what to do, b-but… but I’ve heard stories from my… f-from my now ex-colleagues, about retrieving escaped convicts back for treatment.
I- I could take a few pages out of their play book, copy how they got out of their facilities and avoid falling for the same pitfalls that got them found. E-Even if doing so would be more than unorthodox, but… I c-can’t just sit around forever.
Even if for now all I can do is watch out for opportunities, think and plan.
Occasionally, the scientists lead me out of this box to conduct new experiments. I was hoping to find something useful when taken from these confines but I'm always trailed by those towering guards who never take their vicious eyes off me, or let me step out of line… or even let the scientists come too close when not instructed to. The director's men, as I've heard the so-called doctors call them while whispering amongst themselves; e-evidently also afraid of the beastly soldiers.
T-There are cameras everywhere, in every hallway and almost in every room. The few that don’t have them always have a beast there present with me, rarely taking an eye off me, so I can’t bet on finding a blindspot outside this room.
Main doors are locked with codes and keycards, but that doesn't matter much because if I managed to get my paws on a set I'd need to carry around a damned stool to reach a security pad while standing on my hind toes because of these giant freaks. Not even knowing where any door leads since I can't read their scratchy script.
Worse yet, from what I could tell while eavesdropping…
This facility is built at least several levels underground, and it’s located near the outskirts of a m-major predator population center. Meaning that any exits going “topside” had to be intentionally dug out by design, and almost definitely surveyed by guards and cameras.
Only to be surrounded by a countless horde of sapient predators once I got out, a-and… given that I’m at the edge of a monster city and how untamed my crash area appeared, the zone marked for emergency landing for all falling vessels, I… I must have been taken far from any other Sivkit survivors on this planet.
C-Constantly watched, locked and isolated. E-Everything, everything is stacked up against me… D-Damnit, j-just, just move forward, k-keep thinking… I-Ironically, my best bet for escape might be in this very room.
A ventilation duct right behind the bed, t-the only one I could reach with pipes that look wide enough to squeeze into if I managed to get the grate off, c-climb up, if that’s p-possible, u- until I feel fresh air.
The glass screen is positioned on the other side of the bed, with the grate being obscured further by the counter at the bedside and I’ve noticed that the cameras start moving back and forth at night, or at least, when the lights shut off, possibly going into an automated mode when the beasts stop watching the cell… t- the demons have to sleep too at some point I suppose, n-no better time to try.
Every couple of minutes as the cameras move, the lenses line up away from the bed for a few seconds at a time, granting me one consistent blindspot where I could fiddle with the screws if I kept my paw hanging off the bed when pretending to sleep.
But the damned grate is bolted in too tight.
I tried using my claws as an improvised screwdriver, wedging them into the divots and twisting… but those attempts only cost me a few nails with nothing to show for it. So if I had kept it up eventually the predators could notice that all my claws were suddenly wearing away. The demons would scour every surface for the cause, not something I can risk if I want to hold onto the only possible escape route I could find.
I just need something metal… something that wasn’t initially in shortage before I figured out the truth and tried to defend myself, i-if only I managed to maintain a cooler head back than… D-damnit, still at square zero, f-for now, I- I just need to bide my time… h-however long I might have.
T-The predator scientists seem to be conducting more and more redundant tests now, w-with some beginning to whisper about getting started on more t-thorough research, especially when they think I’m out of ear shot. I… I might not have long left before they just decide to dissect me.
“You hanging in there, Talyn?” A long dull claw poked my cheek, sending sharp shivers through my core.
It jolted me back to reality and forced me to regain awareness of the silver predator looming by the bedside, w-whose presence slipped my mind after a-somehow allowing my guard down around her.
“Heh, doesn’t really look like you’ve taken a liking to the book… you’ve been staring at the wall for a while now.” Variah’s voice almost sounded dejected, her head pointed down at the bizarre novel while flipping through its yellowed pages in an apathetic manner.
All I could do was lay behind the covers, grasping onto them as if they could shield me if the demon had a shift in whims, poking my head out while unable to look away as fur all along my back raised with pins and needles shooting through my skin.
An uncomfortable silence swept the room when Variah's horrid eyes began staring down at me, t-though… t-they almost looked tired and unmotivated, like they were begging for something?
“Ah-I… I spaced out for a minute, ah- I’m s-sorry.” The predator raised a single ear at me, s-surprised that I actually answered her this time, and I… I'm not s-sure why I did it either.
Her ears perked up a little, while I briefly flinched away as she opened up her maw, but quickly found that she only did so to speak again. “You don’t have to apologize, I… I can stop reading if you don’t want to hear it?”
The question actually paused me for a minute, a part of me couldn’t stand having to bare a predator’s presence constantly while hearing her voice narrating some damned book that doesn’t make the slightest bit of sense, but I… partly hating myself for it, but I p-prefer hearing Variah’s voice over the quiet, e-even if it's wrong to be listening to a predator. “Y-you… you can c-contiunue… p-please.”
Variah huffed to herself, keeping her ears pinned back in an awkward manner while lingering a strange, unnerving gaze on me for an uncomfortable minute, before turning back to the book and raising her ears up a little. “Alright, alright… I’ll just start over with the chapter.”
“O-Okay…” I muttered, but it made no difference either way. It’s not like I was even able to listen fully while all those things are constantly prowling around me, my instincts getting the better of me… or, with every clashing thought swirling around my mind. About what happened, about what they are?
B-But I got bits and pieces here and there, just enough to roughly know what’s going on. It detracts from everything dire, but I… I can allow myself this one distraction from this place. Even if willingly indulging in some predator’s work just makes my core feel vile. Though, from what I’ve followed, it… it feels like listening to a lie, n-not like the type of fantasy a predator should either read or write about, but that thing looks far too old to be a forgery for my sake.
For two years their engines roared, two years of steady descent as long white trails of plasma were cast forth into the inky void, decelerating the wanderer on their journey before the antimatter drives were cut and the great vessel came to a halt on its final destination, after centuries, settling into orbit around Aldiel star.
Awe and wonder resonated from the crew, the voyage was long, with countless wonders and detours on their journey through the Galaxy, but it has been twelve-hundred years since the 1st generation set them on this path, twelve-hundred years so that the 48th could bask in the light of the star that guided their ancestors since the days of wind and sails.
And, since it’s mysterious call beckoned them into the stars…
Variah’s voice filled the room with considerable mirth in her tone despite her prior hints at treachery… doing a far too convincing job at masking that her prior warning ever happened. Though I- I might be going crazy… but there’s almost an air of stress o-or sadness behind her horrid eyes.
S-Somehow, I… I’m not sure what to think about that predator.
She doesn't fit in with the rest of the beasts roaming around this facility, and for a second… You could almost forget that she's a natural hunter, that the being sitting by my side didn’t evolve to kill and gorge on flesh like the rest of them because those facts clash against the image painted right before my eyes.
The same frightening figure doing something as innocuous as reading through a novel by my bedside, as- as if I was some lost child cooped up in a Zurulian nursery.
However, the beast herself went through apparent lengths to reaffirm my sense of danger here while displaying a clear aptitude towards deception, lying even to her own kind… i-it seems foolish to doubt their nature now.
Y-Yet… seeing her yapping about some fiction novel with such glee, I… I can’t exactly see a monster cut from the same cloth as the Arxur. No Grey in existence would ever try to help prey, nor would they ever produce a novel, much less the contents in this one.
P-Predator explorers traveling across the stars in so-called generation ships, i-it’s… r-rather dumb, honestly. The idea of anyone being crazy enough to cross the void without FTL is ridiculous, though, p-predators fantasizing about it is certainly terrifying. I-imagining what lengths they could go to breach their system… I should be happy that the primitive hunters apparently deluded themselves into believing that super luminal speeds are impossible… at least, until we came along, a-and broke that notion for them.
W-when Variah said the book was a story about their vision for space travel I thought I’d be faced with an early glimpse into the nightmarish future we just created. A ravenous horde of canide demons unleashed to murder their way across the stars, if they got their claws on our FTL tech. Bombing worlds, enslaving cultures and spilling blood before tearing into sapient flesh. Y-Yet, that wasn’t in the pages… t-the opposite was.
Wanderers going from system to system, discovering new life, new wonders, new people… and embracing them with open arms instead of clenching teeth, even if by their own perception that life seemed incomprehensible or monstrous… i- initially, at least.
I… I don’t know.
The predators must have been under the delusion that most sapient life would be just as flesh craving as they are before I spilled the truth, with only a few chapters depicting contact with herbivore species, this being portrayed as some unique encounters, a-and… p-peaceful, n-no hunting, no war. W-Why?
Comparably, there were just as little chapters depicting conflict altogether, n-nothing that would delve into their true nature, a-at least… n-not what their nature s-should be.
It's d-difficult to reconcile everything I’ve heard with what we know about predatory minds, with the confessed threat lurking within this facility, though I can’t exactly ignore it either… I-It doesn’t seem like hunger alone drives these monsters, not like the Greys… t-then what does?
T-There… There was a moment where I almost wanted to just ask, t-though I stopped myself before I could do something that stupid. D-Damnit… What am I even doing listening to that damned thing?
Those weren’t the only things that stuck out while listening, more peculiar passages here and there… from what I can tell these beasts hold a strong aversion towards foreign diseases.
With characters being weary of exposing themselves to alien atmospheres before developing cures and vaccines, or trying to prevent their own predator sicknesses from spreading onto other worlds. It explains the suits from earlier, and why some of the predators wear them even now, but not so much the reason for the alarm in the first place… I would have thought that carnivores should be accustomed to carrying pathogens?
Stranger is that they seem to expect to find life in almost every system, even among inhospitable worlds with characters being surprised to find a barren system, or that “there is only one habitable world around the star.”
Or when finding extinct civilizations… a- and mourning their loss.
I-It’s… it’s not like life is rare in the galaxy, but Grand Herd scouts would weep in joy if someone ever found a corner of space as fertile as envisioned. It's… odd, usually its the opposite for species that developed electricity on their own and found the universe quiet, e-except th-the Verin and Onkari… a pair species.
E-Earlier, it sounded like Variah mentioned some others, w-with some notable differences from her. C-Could there… Considering their views about herbivores, t-than it would be a… n-no, I- I don’t know. W-What are the c-chances, and p-predators would conquer any neighbors… r-right?
D-Damnit, I-I’m just going insane in this… this glorified cattle pen, t-trapped for who knows how long? J-Just questioning myself, w-with no one but horrid predators.
Argh! This book! It… i-it really isn’t something a predator should indulge in. Yet some sapient beast wrote it, w-while Variah seems enamored with that thing, the covers seemingly worn from use. What could a hunter like her see in a story almost void of violence?
Reading through the pages with perked up ears, while casting the occasional glance at me to make sure I’m not totally ignoring her, a w-weary look painted on her ugly face.
Sh- e-earlier she mentioned that… t-that she reads that thing during dark times, i-is… is now… No, w-why are you thinking about that now? How can I trust a single word coming out of that maw? I-It could all just be manipulation a-and you’d be falling right into it like s-some dumb, p-predator-brained Venlil?!
T-Though if… if she isn’t as… D-Damnit, my time might be running out, a-and I’m short of options. If there’s even a slim chance that she’s not lying, I… d-despite what she is, despite better judgment, I… I wish I could count her as an ally in this horrid place, w-without fearing any ulterior motives she could have for trying to help me earlier.
If they were the Greys, I could chuck it up to hunger for alien flesh, s-some ploy to get everything for herself… but that doesn’t seem so clear anymore, when their… agitation doesn’t seem focused on their cravings, and when Variah stands out further from the other demons… She must have had a reason.
This… t-this is incredibly foolish, b-but I clenched my shivering paws and cautiously turned my head towards the demon, taking a shaken breath and opening my mouth to speak. “V-variah…?”
The huntress paused some senseless tangent about dyson swarms and ring worlds, whatever that even was… before turning her horrid eyes on me in a quizzical manner and forcing me to gulp after managing to grab her full attention.
“W-Why… w-why are you not like t-the others?”
The silver demon stared at me for a moment with confusion, before taking a claw underneath her chin and scratching while glancing to the side as if looking for an answer. “Oh- erm… My mother hailed from a nation in the far, far south, the native people have similar coats on that continent. Why?”
Coat? “Wha- n-no, I-I mean, why a-are you here, w-why are you s-so interested in aliens? T-The others, t-they are… t-they are more h-hostile, c-cold, y-you aren’t?”
“Ohh, I see… There might be many reasons, Talyn, but I think most are just scared.” Variah looked away from me and pointed her eyes towards the ceiling before continuing on.
“Everything on Valh was turned on its head when you crashed, and no one knows what's going to happen, or what your people even want… but so far their actions haven’t made you seem very approachable, and your reaction to us hasn’t exactly reassured anyone here either.”
“S-Scared… O-Of us? Y-you can't be s-serious, p-predators c-can’t feel true f-fear, n-not because of p-prey, you- you c-cause fear…” She paused and stared at me for a few uncomfortable seconds, her ears pinned tight to her skull while ducking her head a little more at my comment.
“You have some… interesting views Talyn, I have to say. The things you say… they can be quite silly sometimes. Of Course we have fear, I… erm, people thought the world was ending because of the flashes, because of your ships meteoring through the damn sky… Do you really think no one was scared?”
T-There was a pleading glint within her exasperated eyes, paired with ears that stayed pinned to the back of her skull as a paw rose up to hide her face. This… t-this doesn't feel like a fake reaction.
I… d-don't know, m-maybe if… If they did misidentify our burning ships as hurling meteors then it would make sense even for predators to experience the same amount of dread as herbivores do, though I can’t see those instincts sticking once we hit the ground, f- fear of the unknown then? W-What c-could predators fear in the unknown, b-bigger predators?
“I-If they are acting out of f-fear… T-Then why are you so different? A-Are you not s-scared… i-is that w-why you are fascinated by aliens, m-more willing to be approached?”
“Gods, of course I'm scared, I just… have hope that things won't turn out for the worst… and no, it’s nothing to do with fear. I've been interested in this sort of thing since I was a teen, in large part due to this very book… I must have read it cover to cover just about a hundred times.”
“B-But why? W-why would a- a being like you care for something like that?”
“I… I'm not sure, it's nice to read something optimistic, no? I got it from my parents when the world didn't seem so hopeful, I’d read it all the time whenever they went away… I guess it was a nice distraction during the war… now it’s something I can remember them by.”
The predator's long ears slumped low as she closed the novel, slowly tracing clawed digits across its sealed pages while staring at the worn out cover, eventually putting it back into the bag. Are… are her progenitors dead? Y-You could imagine a predator cub feeling despair when losing a vital guardian that was keeping them alive, n-not a fully mature one.
“Y-You have families?”
“Heh, of course we do, big ones usually, is that not common?”
“I-It… it is.” My body shuddered knowing that these terrifying beings come in large groups, something that goes counter to the anti-social nature of the Arxur, however my reaction caused the silver predator to grow even more despondent.
“Ahh… monsters aren't meant to have families, no?” Her long snout pointed down at the floor while crossing her paws together. I-It was such a strange feeling seeing her like this, i-in such a passive state next to prey… o-only drawing her image further than the beasts we know.
“M-Monsters d-don’t… b-but you do… I- I don't r-really understand w-what you are.”
Variah raised one ear at me, slowly pointing her head half way in my direction before lingering a stare from a single eye. “You… can always ask, you know. I’ll answer anything you want to know, just like before. What do you want to hear?”
J-Just ask? H-Heh… i-it can’t exactly be the same once you know you’re talking to a flesh eater, though, I… I think these beasts have to be a tamer breed of monsters than the Arxur, c-closer to true sapience, a-at least compared to those cursed reptiles. D-Damn, what harm could finding out more about their nature really do?
“A-Alright… I- I don’t know, l-let me think…” My thoughts traced over our conversation, until they landed upon something that stood out, o-one of many things not fitting of a predator. “E-Earlier you mentioned gods, d-do you have a religion?”
“Many. I don’t believe in anything of the sort myself, not really anyway… but most of my family prays to the old gods. People all around Valh most commonly follow the new pantheon and the nomad faiths it originated from.”
“M-Many? Okay then… w-what do you p-predators believe in then?”
“It depends, I guess… Most gods are meant to embody a part of nature in some way, the popular ones usually correspond to some star or celestial object in the sky… like I said I don't really put much stock into the supernatural so I don’t know much, though it… can be uncanny how many things are close to being correct in the nomad myths.”
Nature? Not something I expected, but I suppose predators worshiping aspects of nature isn't inconceivable when it's their hunting grounds. Though, it was worrying to hear a predator getting nervous about their own belief systems. “T-The nomads? You… you mentioned them before, Teh… Tesh, yes? W-What’s so b-bizarre about their beliefs?”
“Oh… yes! You actually rem-” The predator's volume spiked along with terror within my chest, but she stopped herself the moment I flinched away.
“O-Oh, I… I didn't mean to shout, s-sorry. They just can be… curious. Really secretive and stubborn about sharing their lores with us but we had some of their legends written down from centuries back and they always just… seem to know things, or at least, are close to vaguely knowing things they really shouldn't until modern times.”
Not that I have much faith in anything she says to me, but my skepticism was certainly beginning to grow. “W-What do you mean, like what?”
“Where can I even start? From what we can tell they always had an obsession with the night sky, but what’s kinda scary is that they have star charts showing surprisingly correct models of our system, with planets that are invisible to the naked eye… a-and later proven real with the invention of telescopes. M-Most were anyway, except for the supposed distant ones.
They knew of new continents and their rough shapes before they were even discovered, they had vague beliefs about the world and basic biology that weren’t too far off from reality if you exclude all the mysticism. They say that their gods granted them knowledge, I… sometimes find it difficult to explain it any other way.”
I've heard of faiths from half the Galaxy, but never had anyone tell me about getting preordained knowledge about science before. “Centuries you say, erm… I-if I were to b-believe you… are you sure t-these nomads haven’t been contacted by other aliens before o-or something?”
“Hah, if you dig around the internet for long enough I’m sure you’d stumbled upon some conspiracy about the Tesh somehow coming from Tielen or something crazier, but I really doubt that.” She chuckled to herself, before abruptly stopping and looking at me with crooked ears. “W-Wait, you… y-you don't know tha- I… I'll tell you later.”
Something about that answer felt off, b-but I couldn’t pinpoint what. “T-These nomads… a- are they just as frightening as y-you…?”
“I'm not frightening, Talyn… but, I suppose if you need a comparison, erm… I guess you might be a tiny bit taller than your average Tesh if you stood on your back legs, take that however you like.”
That much of a difference, i-is she serious?! T-there really might be another species here… t-two predators species o-on the same world?! That… that just can’t be right, p-predators would see another race as competition, a-and she doesn't speak of them as an enemy… m-maybe it's some weaker subspecies that's tolerated enough to not be driven to extinction?
“A-Alright… e-enough about that, p-please.” Whatever the truth is, the last thing I want to hear about is how diverse in form the monsters I’m surrounded by are, n-not when the whole point of us leaving federation space was to evade a pair of hunters… j-just like herself.
It felt… wrong, just considering this question that came to my mind, but having contact with a speaking monster, willing to answer any question… it sowed a certain level of morbid curiosity that couldn’t be ignored. “W- w-what do you feel when you go on a hunt, when you c-catch prey? D-Do you… do you do it often?”
I took a gulp when those words left my lips, but Variah just tilted her head at me as if my query made less sense than warp drive engineering. “When I hunt? Talyn I… I don’t hunt, not anymore anyway. My uncle took me a few times when I was younger, but it’s not something that I, or most people, do on a regular basis… it's not really my thing either.”
“Yo- you don't go hunting?! Y-You’re a carnivore, h-how… how d-do you g-get flesh?!”
“At the market…” Her voice sounded exasperated, like the apparently non-hunting predator couldn’t believe I had to ask.
Having to Imagine these demons selling bodies at a store like they’re some commodities is nothing short of horror, likely coming from cattle farms if most of them really don’t hunt, b-but… it’s inconceivable that a predator would forgo their own personal blood drive and delegate hunting to someone else… n-not her thing?
“Y-You still hunted prey b-before, w-what did you feel when… w-when you k-killed them?”
The predator looked unsure what to say, looking to the side and rubbing her ear. “I… I only managed to shoot something once, I… I guess I felt a rush at the time, pride… along with some pity for the thing. Again, it’s not something I liked, but I don’t feel bad about it, Talyn… I’m sorry if that’s not something you want to hear from me.”
Despondence grew within my heart as she confessed to having no remorse for the life taken, y-yet, she understands enough compassion to attempt alleviating my feelings about it? With a meek voice I tried to speak up again. “B-But… c-couldn’t you just s-stop eating f-flesh? Y-You can eat r-roots and f-fruit, e-even if i-it needs to be b-burnt… t-there is no need for m-murder.”
“Murder?” Variah looked at me in confusion, lingering a concentrated gaze on me for some time. “Talyn… why do you think carnivores eat meat?”
“T-To sate your b-bloodlust… t-they say you c-can’t help yourself, i-it's in your instincts to k-kill.” Variah furrowed her eyes at me and pinned back her ears, though this time it didn’t come off as stress, rather… bewilderment?
“Listen, we eat meat because it’s a physical nutritional need. We can’t eat plant matter like you do because we lack the right enzymes to digest it properly, and regardless of that, meat has proteins my body can’t synthesize on its own so I would eventually starve to death if I ate nothing but plants, cooked or not.”
She grabbed both ears and started rubbing them in an anxious manner. “Sure, instincts do play a role in how predators behave… any creature with specific biological needs had to evolve a drive to fulfill those needs, but it’s about survival, not some… some constant mind consuming lust for carnage?”
“Y-You really expect me to b-believe that you won’t start drooling t-the moment you feel hungry?!”
Variah’s paws moved from her ears and down on her forehead, staring straight at the floor for a few seconds with a fatigued posture before sliding her paws down again to hide her snout as she started to… c-chuckling? “By the gods. I hope you won’t… but if you’re still worried that much my belly’s all full right now, so you have nothing to be concerned about.”
Is she… is she finding this funny!? The thought of her being fully sated with corpses just sent a shiver down my spine, I don’t even think she realizes how morbid the comment was but I could only feel bitter in the moment. “H- how l-lovely for y-you… t-that just makes me feel s-so much b-better.”
Variah narrowed her eyes and slowly looked in my direction, causing mine to widen in response. The silver predator raised a paw and extended it towards my face.
Dread shot through my heart, forcing me to flinch away and shut my eyes before the horrid demon made contact and I squealed in terror, b-but… instead of her claws flaying me alive, I only felt a harsh flick across my ear. “You must be feeling all great now after all if you’re willing to speak with so much spite.”
Cautiously, my eyes opened to see Variah leaning close, her increased proximity immediately sending off alarm bells in my head. However, the overgrown demon just sat there still with closed eyes and perked up ears, holding out a clenched paw in front of me, with only the pinky extended forward.
I just stared at her for a moment, unsure what she wanted me to do before finally recoiling my arm back with a mix of scorn and trepidation when I figured out her attempted gesture. Contemplating my actions here, then contemplating her’s…
B-before averting my gaze from the demon and lowering my arm, and… a-and deciding to cautiously raise my arm, hovering a shaking paw right before the demon’s digit a-and managing to grab on, n-not fully sure of every reason why I did it?
It felt… wrong, loathsome, holding onto a predator, b-but some part of me liked feeling her warmth. She didn’t react at first, but after a few seconds Variah’s digit curled in on itself and pressed my paw against her other knuckles… It surprised me, b-but, it didn’t feel like a grip I couldn’t get away from if I let go now, s-so I just sat there for a moment, taking in how surreal the situation had become.
“See…” Variah finally decided to speak up as I raised my gaze to meet the strange predator once again. “I’m not as terrifying as you think.”
An odd mix of emotions went through my head, b-before I finally let go of her. “Y-you are… y-you just… c-could be w-worse.”
The silver beast seemed disappointed for a moment, but her overall demeanor seemed more positive than before. “Heh, I guess that’s an improvement so I’ll take it, for now.”
For once, I’ve seen Variah’s ears pointed to full height, and she… she really didn’t seem as frightening, m-making my ear rise a little higher too, awkwardly sitting in a crooked manner. “H-heh… y-you… you are a s-strange being, Variah… n-not how I could have e-ever imagined. You… d-do you really not like hunting?”
“Not really, no, if you're willing to believe it… though I won’t lie, I do enjoy the outdoors aspects of it. The hiking, the camping… get to do it a ton for my main line of work.”
The most arduous parts of working in the wild? Why would a scientist have to work in the wilds anyway? “W-What do you actually d-do? A-and, w-why are you here now?”
“Many things, but primarily astronomy and anthropology work. We survey the night sky deep in nomad territory because their communities produce far less light pollution, so I tend to have a ton of contact with the tribals. These are usually joint ventures with archaeology and zoology teams, so we regularly assist with each other's work too.”
“As for why I’m here, the military swooped me up once the dust settled long enough to know that it wasn’t space debris that landed on our world. I… I wrote a paper about a hypothetical first contact with extraterrestrials, and how it could play out based on cultural interactions throughout history… turns out that was enough for the government when they were scrambling to find scientific personnel capable of contributing with an alien encounter.”
It was bizarre hearing that hunters would care about so many fields of study. At best I thought they would focus on utilitarian pursuits, not something as frivolous as archeology. Much less would I have expected that predators would be speculating about aliens. “H-Have you imagined f-first contact going like this?”
“I- I didn't even think we would ever have an actual first contact, n-not in my lifetime… with the distances involved the chances of an encounter were literally astronomical, at least, until we learnt about your physics-breaking technology. Realistically, the best I ever hoped for was living long enough to watch someone land on Tsn, or hell, even our other moon… When they told me what I was meant to do here and got rushed into this room with you, I… I thought I would faint.”
The last bit left a tinge of guilt within my heart, even though it’s for a beast that technically shouldn’t deserve it. My glare just lingered on Variah while listening to the giant predator spill her woes and dreams like any actual sapient being in the Galaxy. It feels… d-dreadful, l-like there was actually someone I could have liked had they not been trapped within that body.
S-Still… I found myself with a need to answer back, turning away from her direct sight. “I- I’m sorry about that, I guess.” I really am going crazy here, aren’t I?
My eyes found themselves staring off at the ceiling while the silver predator just tilted her creepy head at me in a puzzled manner, lingering her unnerving eyes before finally answering back. “You don't have to worry about it… but thanks.”
Nothing more was spoken between us for several seconds, the extended silence drawing more attention to the strangeness of the situation I found myself in, until the moment was cut short and without warning a buzzer sounded over the door.
An ominous voice came online from the speakers, announcing that guards were about to escort me for another set of experiments. Something that left off, and must have also taken Variah off guard judging by her shift in demeanor. “More tests? Strange… nothing else was scheduled for today.”
The door began to cycle through its opening sequence and my anxiety flaring back up to how it was before, shivering, as the sudden break in routine caused an impending sense of doom once I realized that something even more nefarious could be afoot.
It could be futile, but my eyes snapped around the room looking for something, anything that could keep me safe if the worst came to pass, until they landed upon Variah… and the silver predator glanced back at me. Scanning over my current state with concern in her eyes, y- yet again contradicting what her nature should be truly.
A- a desperate thought crossed my mind, s-something… completely unthinkable, but no alternative seems at all feasible, a-and my time is drawing short. I- I cannot do this alone…
“Va- V-variah…” I hissed, my voice so weak that it's a shock that the beast managed to hear it even with those long ears. “P-please… You- you godda k-keep me s-safe.”
Her creepy eyes widened with shock, almosting freezing on the spot, but the predator recovered quickly, likely trying to look inconspicuous before glancing side to side and turning her head back to me with perked up ears.
“I- I promise I’ll do what I can…” She spoke in a low tone while reaching a giant paw towards my head. The sight of claws nearing my face compounding instinctive dread, but despite flinching once her palm made contact with my head, I- I didn’t shy away as much as before.
“On my honour. I just… need to figure out what’s going on first.” Variah took her paw away as the door hissed open, a-and for a moment m-my… my muscles twitched to pull her back before I stopped myself, u-unsure what compelled that impulse.
Two large guards stepped in, sporting fur dark as pitch and looking far more imposing than Variah ever could. “Doctor…” The demon spoke with a low tone that made my claws vibrate while slightly bowing his head in some form of greeting.
“I-is something wrong, sir? I wasn’t aware of any changes in the roster?” The silver predator appeared far meeker than the two beasts in front of her, though her demeanor didn’t suggest an expectation of being harmed by the two, despite her earlier treachery or our interactions from today.
“Nothing’s wrong Doctor, the administrator got a green light for a new line of research, so we’ve been ordered to escort the subject to the lower levels, please step out of the room.”
For a moment, something the demon said shook the silver predator, causing her head to snap in my direction with concern as I shuddered from the sight. “T-the lower levels? I thought those were shu-” She paused once looking back at the giant guard who seemed to be running out of patience. “R-right, apologies, I’m on my way.”
The silver predator moved sheepishly towards the door, lingering at the threshold to look my way one final time, clear concern painted on her face, at least before perking up her ears in what looked like a vain attempt at reassuring me and ducking out of the room soon after.
I- I guess it was just a deranged fantasy ever considering that begging some carnivore for help would materialize into anything. Now I was left alone with two demonic shadows ordering me out of the bed. My muscles weakened when their voices called, with nauseating sickness almost making me vomit from overwhelming dread.
However, following their commands was preferable to these monsters dragging me off by force so I just climbed down the frame, disheartened, and almost collapsed on the floor before letting the demons lead me into deeper depths.

2024.06.01 22:34 Different_Week_96 Possible delayed onset TBI?

Hi all,
I apologize if this is long but any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I was involved in an incident January 29th that resulted in me being pistol whipped in the back of my head. During that time, I was checked out by paramedics and showed no signs of a concussion. I followed up with an Urgent Care Doctor a couple of days later which looked at my head where I was struck and there was only a small bump. Again, still feeling fine, no issues - just shook. All was well, no abnormalities in my daily life etc. I went on vacation to CO Feb 16th-19th which also went well. However, when I returned, I got sick which lasted all week. The weekend of my birthday came (24th) and I just felt out of it through the weekend. I was bed ridden the entire weekend for my birthday.
Fast forward to March, after being referred to a therapist, I was diagnosed with PTSD. Since then, life has just been off for me. I went through a phase of intrusive thoughts and flashbacks which has gone away but I'm still dealing with brain fog, anxious feelings, dissociation, hyper arousal/hyper vigilance like my brain is on overdrive 24/7, unable to concentrate/focus/zoning out, short term memory issues, light sensitivity, trouble sleeping, high blood pressure spikes, random dull headaches directly on top of my head and now what I feel like I'm experiencing visual snow with ringing in my right ear. You know that feeling when you turn off the light when being in a bright room and you see what looks like TV static? It's more noticeable at night versus during the day when it's bright outside. All of this coincides with PTSD, anxiety, and stress too.
I got an abdominal/pelvic CT scan not too long ago because I was also having issues with having loose stools immediately after eating for more than a month. The CT scan came back immaculate. I also have a collapsed eardrum in my right ear so I'm not sure if that all plays part. However, I'm still experiencing all of the symptoms above.
I'm on workers comp so I have to see an urgent care workers comp Doctor for anything pertaining to the work injury to be covered. This said, when I explained to the Doctor the other day that I'm experiencing the TV static affect, she exclaimed that it sounds like those symptoms are coming "organically," meaning not from some sort of eye condition etc. My therapist also suggested I get seen by a neurologist but the Doctor keeps insisting that if I had a brain issue, it would have came about sooner than a month later which I'm not sure is true or they're trying to keep costs down for my employer by downplaying my symptoms.
Someone mentioned I get looked at for TBI. Does what I mentioned align with TBI or would you say it's more of the PTSD/anxiety/stress?

2024.06.01 21:50 TaintedPills Not Worth The Price

Audio narration (not by me) for those interested in a more audible experience
[--------------------------------------------------]
They thought they had him, bought and paid for. The joke is on them, for the first time in his life, his conscience came out on top.
[--------------------------------------------------]
Something easy is not always simple, as paradoxical as it sounds. Something like what he was about to do was supposed to be simple, everything becomes simpler when it's done god knows how many times.
Just activate the communications hub, enter the right channel, use the right words and be done with it once and for all.
But he couldn't. His trembling hands would not allow him, he should have known it would be this difficult when he woke up and found out he couldn't look at himself in the mirror, no matter how hard he tried. These damn hands...
He dared to look down at them, seemingly calming them with just his stare...until they started shaking again. He tried to focus on something specific in order to steel his nerves. His eyes fell on the engraved buttons that adorned his suit's sleeves, a small reminder on where he stood in the hierarchy of the company he had devoted himself to for more than a decade.
Working with the closest thing to the devil had its perks, material perks but perks nonetheless and these buttons were only a small chunk of them.
Plenty of riches and plenty of costs, it seemed normal to him up until now, that is when he started to doubt if the rewards were worth the costs.
Somehow, he found the courage in himself to activate the console, hit the correct keys and activate the comm channel he should have activated almost an hour ago. The four pitch black eyes that occupied the centre of the massive screen threatened to crush his larynx just from the stress alone, the flips his stomach was making almost forcing him into vomiting a third time.
Even sputtering out a casual greeting proved too much for him, fortunately enough, he didn't have to greet the unsuspecting individual first.
"May the mountains bless you. Our people are excited to speak to yours again"
"So are we" These are the only words his tormented throat could stammer out, he didn't know whether to be grateful or not for their ignorance regarding human body language. His hands shook even harder while holding two stacks of legal papers, the question in his mind was which stack to scan.
"We are aware of the realities of trading and we are eager to repay you for the technology you graced us with"
His stomach protested once more. if he scanned the stack he was holding on his right hand, they'd repay his employers alright..just not in the way or scope they could ever expect. They'd give everything in their name away, the land their people lived on, the mountains they loved so much would get mined out until they were nothing but empty husks and if they resisted they'd get kicked out, they'd become nomads whose home was stolen right under their noses. If he sent them the stack his left hand was holding then maybe, just maybe... there'd still be hope for them.
"...Is there something you wanted to tell us?"
The sound of his heartbeat was becoming unbearable and he could not hold off making a choice, the time had come and he'd have to pick something, anything. Question was, whether he ought to pick what will help him or what will let him live with himself.
"Stand by for further instructions"
It didn't matter if he liked it or not, he had already made his choice without necessarily knowing it. The stack of papers on his right hand was thrown across the room, scattering all over the floor, right where they belonged. He quickly scanned the stack he had chosen and sent over the file.
He could hear the printing process taking place on the other side of the screen, there'd be no need to read everything out to them, everything on these papers got translated from one chosen language to another and vice-versa. The representative picked up the papers and went through them in silence.
"I don't...I don't think I understand what the purpose of these documents are"
"Hidden clauses, internal documents regarding hidden fees and how to squeeze out the most out of recently uplifted civilizations and other details your people ought to be aware of"
"Are you saying you have been taking advantage of us this whole time?"
"Yes"
The words that would get him stripped of his rank, title and benefits he had worked for almost the entirety of his life seemed to fly out of his mouth with particular ease.
"Your first mistake was accepting my employers' offer and if I can help it, it will be your first and last mistake"
His fingers danced across the keyboard, bringing up the file it automatically created when scanning the documents he placed in the console. He quickly found the section he was looking for and shared it with the screen of the aliens' console.
"This particular section is of great interest to you, it goes into detail about standard procedures when it comes to premature termination of contracts on the client's side. Your people will still hurt greatly for canceling whatever you agreed to but you will get to keep your lands in your name"
He stuffed the very stack of documents that will end his career back in his suit's inner pockets. Still stressed but also filled with something unusual, a sense of satisfaction unlike any he had ever felt. He took one last look at the confused representative.
"The period of acceptable termination is ending and it is ending soon, share everything and I mean everything you learned right now with the people above you, goodbye"
He turned off the console and walked out of the room, soon breaking into a dead run, he'd catch a ship off-planet and eventually a ship off the star system he was in. He knew for a fact two whole generations before him worked for the same corp and they'd curse his name for eternity for throwing everything away but he couldn't help it.
He started his dreadful career by giving a small piece of himself away, eventually he gave the entirety of himself away, that is until they started asking for pieces of his soul. He gave them just as eagerly until he gave almost all of it away too. Now they asked for the last piece that mattered and he refused to give it over.
It was not worth the price, not worth his soul.

2024.06.01 21:33 MyCarsDead [S][USA-CA] Fujifilm X-T5, XF 56mm 1.2 Mk 1, XF 80mm 2.8, XF 23mm 1.4 WR, XF 27mm 2.8 mk 1, XC 50-230mm, EF to XF, Godox Xpro, adapters

Got a big system switch post here. Decided to move up to full frame as I like adapting lenses and prefer to keep the focal length unchanged. All prices are total cost to buyer via PayPal G&S with shipping included for USA. Please comment and use messages not chat. I largely plan to ship on Monday for any that sell by then, but may be able to squeeze a few in today.
Main Timestamp - https://imgur.com/a/d9N5kuC
X-T5 - $1500 - https://imgur.com/a/5C9YoHO - Thoroughly enjoyed this camera. It’s with great trepidation that I’ve moved on. It works perfectly and looks great with just one small mark. Mechanical shutter count is 3771. Bought it new when first released. Has a screen protector on it which has been applied since new. Includes the original battery and box. I cannot find the original power adapter but it just takes USB-C for charging. I can include a generic USB-C cable if requested. Also includes L bracket.
XF 56mm 1.2 mk 1 - $375 - https://imgur.com/a/y0Vph7E - My favorite lens for the system. It’s not quite sharp enough for these new 40mp sensors but it has such a beautiful rendering I keep using it more than any other. I wish they were selling for this price when I picked it up originally, would have been a no brainer.
XF 80mm 2.8 - $450 - https://imgur.com/a/gmY8VlT - Perhaps my most used lens as I scan my film with it. I want to disclose two things. First It has some dust internally (definitely review the photos closely) but it has no impact on image quality as far as I can tell, just deadly sharp images (still incredible on X-T5). Second, every once in awhile it will pop up with a "Lens Control Error". I've seen it maybe 5 or 6 times in the last two years, and it is always solved by turning the camera off and back on. It is a minor annoyance but never been a huge concern. I’ve taken at least 4000 photos while using it though and I am confident it will serve you well. I do not have the lens hood or box, but I have both caps.
XF 23mm 1.4 WR - $620 - https://imgur.com/a/kx1RVtH -Just bought this a few months ago off MPB it was rated “Good.” Insanely sharp when wide open. Became my default for the X-T5 because it actually resolves well on these crazy 40 MP sensors. Comes with original box and lens hood.
XF 27mm 2.8 mk 1 - $300 - https://imgur.com/a/spOUWSm - This is the original lens without the aperture ring. Best compact traveler lens for the system. One of the first lenses I used for Fuji and sold me on the system. It’s actually the second time I’ve bought one and heck I might end up getting this again if I end up needing a more compact camera for traveling again.
XC 50-230mm 4.5-6.7 - $200 - https://imgur.com/a/zelChc3 - It’s cheap, it’s plasticky, but it’s an insane value for money. Many hikers choose this over the alternatives due to it’s light weight and sharp results. Comes with original box and lens hood.
7Artisans EF to FX adapter - $100 - https://imgur.com/a/rAdORHG - This is one of the newer cheaper options for adapting Canon EF lenses with control over AF and aperture. I think it works quite well in the single autofocus setting. Some lenses respond better or worse on continuous.
Godox Xpro-F Wireless Flash Trigger - $40 - https://imgur.com/a/fhENFjs - Great controller. No box.
“Dumb” lens adapters - Free with any other purchase - Priority to the buyer of the X-T5 free +shipping for any remaining after all items have sold— I have the following:
Leica M -> Fuji FX
Leica 39MM -> Fuji FX
Nikon F -> Fuji FX
Minolta MD -> Fuji FX
Pentax K -> Fuji FX
I am open to a trade for an L-Mount normal zoom, any of the Sigma 24/28-70s or the Panasonic 24-105

Fastest Way To Level (No Explorer Notes), The Center

Hello everyone. I spent quite a few days putting together these spreadsheets. Between Research on the wiki, in game testing and then the organization of everything.
The Center “should” be out in a few days and it’s the first non-story map released for Ark survival Ascended. For those of you new to ark, non-story maps do not have explorer notes. Also, you tend to encounter much higher level creatures. The higher-level creatures are great when it comes to taming, but it can make the early game a little more challenging. Being able to level up a little quicker to get things like a bola can help with this.

These Spreadsheets show 2 things:

How much experience you get from crafting every engram that is available to you from levels 1-10. As well as what creatures are best to farm for experience based on difficulty and health.

Crafting Experience Levels 1-10:

  1. The engrams are organized by name, then level you unlock the engram. Then I took the information from the ark wiki to determine how much experience you got from each item in Ark survival evolved. Then I wrote down the resources to craft each item. Then based on that info I took the amount of experience you get from each item and divided it by the materials needed to craft the item. To determine how much experience it nets you for each material used.
· Example: Hide Sleeping Bag costs 25 Hide & 15 fiber. This is 40 total materials. You get 12.4 experience from crafting the item. So 12.4 experience / 40 materials = 0.31 experience per material.
  1. Then I color coded each material.
· Red = 0 exp per material-0.19 experience per material
· Orangeish = Takes too Many Resources to Mass Craft these items in the first 10 levels or the resources may be more difficult to acquire. Example: The cooking Pot, it gives you 78 total experience to craft this item, bur requires 105 total materials. It is a great source of experience, but maybe not practical to craft in the levels 1-10 (also it unlocks at level 8).
· Purple: 0-2-0.3 Exp per material, low resource cost. These are cheap items that give a good amount of experience per material invested. Example: The Cloth hat costs 10 fiber and gives you 2.4 experience total, so its 0.24 experience per material. If you look directly above at the cloth shirt, it costs 40 fiber to get 3.2 experience. So 40 materials gets you 3.2 experience. But if you take that same 40 fiber and craft 4 cloth hats you get far more experience. 2.4 exp X 4 crafts (40 total fiber) = 9.6 total experience. Cloth Hat>Cloth Shirt
· Dark Green: Narcotics are hands down the best source of crafting experience early on. However, harvesting a stack of lets say “100 narco berries” by hand, is going to take you forever. Then you would need spoiled meat as well. Which takes time to expire, even if you separate it all out. The time investing into getting the materials for this would not be worth it…. But the moment you get a berry gather, this is a great way to get experience, especially if you have a lystro you can set up next to it and use the 1.35 experience buff from them.
  1. The best 2 items to craft early to get the best experience per material is the Torch and the campfire. The Torch gives you 0.4 experience per material and the campfire gives you 0.45…or it did…. I Also made a column where I went into the game to craft each one of these items in ASA to ensure nothing had changed. But it had. A few items had their experience adjusted from ASE. In this column the green means it stayed the same between ASE to ASA. The brownish Orange color means that it changed. I went back and re did the calculations for anything that changed. It did not have a large impact on where it fell in the color categories. Back to the campfire. The campfire got changed to give 10 total experience instead of 14. Which equaled: 0.3225806451612903 per material. But there is 1 last thing to consider. It takes 5 seconds to craft 1 torch and 5 seconds to craft 1 campfire.
Determining Example: 60 seconds (1 minute)
Torch: 1 craft = 1.2 Experience per 5 seconds, X 12 crafts = 14.4 experience for 60 seconds
Campfire: 1 Craft = 10 experience per 5 seconds X 12 crafts = 120 experience for 60 seconds
· Side Note: I turned off harvest experience and passive experience to ensure that I got an accurate crafting experience number for every item.
4. What’s The Best Item to craft for Experience in the levels between 1-10? Its Campfires. Craft yourself a stone pick and axe, and as soon as you hit level 2 you can craft campfires.
I had one of my subscribers on YouTube tell me that if you own the dlc, there is an engram you unlock at level 21, called the drawing paper. They said that it costs 8 fiber and gives 20 experience. I own the dlc but haven’t tested this out yet. It would be worth checking out, because if that’s the case then the moment you hit 21 this would be an amazing way to power level. Or at least help you get those last few levels to unlock that PT saddle everyone wants so they can start exploring.

Experience For Defeating Creatures:

Every creature in ark has a Base experience they give you at level 1. I created a list of creatures that I believed to be “early game creatures”. Ones that If I remember correctly (its been a hot minute) you would find on the beaches of the center, as well as the island with blue ob (big starting point for a lot of players on the center).
  1. I categorized all these creatures based on their base experience. Basically, what this spreadsheet does is it helps you determine what creature is more valuable to “farm” or make the effort to try and defeat to get the most experience for your time. I then went through and listed each creature’s base health, the health they get per level (wild) and if they take headshot damage. These will all influence how long it takes you to defeat each creature. Now of course in game you wouldn’t see a level 1 on max difficulty it would be level 5, but the same principle still applies.
· I then created a Best in Category (best creature for experience in each “base experience category). How this was determined: Base Health & difficulty to defeat each creature. You can see in the yellow part of the chart that the dodo has the least amount of health and has the least health per level. They also take headshot damage. Meaning they would be the fastest creature to defeat in this category. They took best in class for the Level 1 base experience of 2 (yellow category).
· Then the dilo in orange
· Then the Dimorphodon in light green
· Then the Ichthyornis (seagull), in blue
· Then the trike in dark green as the dolphin can swim out to the ocean and then its gone
· Then the moschops (all by himself in the red category)

2. Then I wanted to determine A top 3 best creatures for Experience.

1. The Dodo.
· The Dodo beat out everyone in the yellow category and beat out the dilo in orange category. The reason being is that the dodo has 40 base health and gives 2 exp. The dilo has 130 base health and gives you 4 exp. Meaning It takes you 3 times as long to defeat a dilo of a similar level to that of the dodo. So 2 exp per dodo, at 40 base health, x 3 dodos = 6 experience, then 4 exp for 1 dilo at 130 health. You also get a small bit of experience for harvesting their bodies, and 3 bodies is better than 1.
2. The Dimorphodon/The Dilo
· The dimorphodon beat out the turtle because the turtle has a crazy amount of health and is not worth taking down for experience. However, the dimorphodon is not an easy thing to take on early. Especially because they often have a very large agro range, so you attack one and then typically many other comes out of nowhere. Also they have quite a bit of health for a small flyer. Their base health is 125 whereas the seagull has 50. If you had a bola and you were just 1v1 then the dimorphodon would win when it comes to being a good source of exp, but because they are often in groups, and they can attack you directly even while mounted, I gave the dilo the official seconds spot.
· 3. The Ichthyornis (the Seagull)
· I removed the moschops as they have quite a bit of health and they run away from you. Without a bola they are a pain to take down, plus they are a very valuable tame early if you get lucky with what food they want. Then The trike is tanky and can mess you up in groups. Plus they don’t take headshot damage. Looking at the base health of everyone in the blue, you can see everyone has 200+ but the seagull, so that made them the obvious winner.
· So technically the Ichthyornis is the number 1 best creature to farm for experience early on. I am giving you another reason to destroy that annoying pest.. haha…. They can be hard to hit with a throwing spear or a bola early on. However, they are very easy to hit with a bow when they are flying in a circle. Then you can switch to the spear or bola them as they dive at you in a straight line. Then its easy to get a headshot and get some quick experience. Should only take 2-4 shots depending on their level. Don’t let them get to close or they start to circle again and become more difficult to hit at range. Also, they eat your valuable goodies.
TLDR:
  1. The campfire is the best early game item to craft for experience.
  2. The best 3 creatures for experience early on are the dodo, the dilo and the ichthyornis (seagull)
This was obviously a lot to read, but I hope it helps someone out there. It took my forever to collect all the info. However, I did this as I wanted to make a video on this information on my YouTube channel prior to the center releasing(the video has released). If you would rather listen to my explain all this versus just reading through it then you can find the link to my channel on my profile. But I figured a lot of people on reddit prefer pictures and text over videos (I know I do, especially at work) so that’s why you got this novel instead of the video on here.
Let me know what you all think. Also, its my day off and I am only half way through my cup of coffee, so I am sorry if there are any grammar errors. I did a quick scan, but I am sure I missed some things.
P.S. If you want access to the spreadsheets (instead of images), or want to download them and use them for whatever you want, I have posted them on the community page on my channel.

2024.06.01 20:25 tinytempo Interested to hear your thoughts, guys…

Hi guys,
BACKGROUND: Two years of pain and discomfort here, which all started with 2 weeks of ibuprofen + a heavy night of drinking. So much regret.
What started as gastritis and bloating is now just daily discomfort (around a 5 to 6 out of 10 on the pain scale, usually worse at night time lying down or waking up). No problems with bowel movement.
I’ve had all kinds of tests. Cameras down the throat, tubes up the nose, organs scanned, poop checked, the lot.
I was on PPIs for a year and a half which didn’t seem to help much and I’m now off those.
CURRENT SITUATION: -Despite having removed the obvious food triggers for this whole time (chocolate, alcohol, spice, etc) discomfort remains to be a daily occurrence - usually all around my stomach with very mild bloating, and the sharper pain (which occurs randomly) is located under my left front rib.
-Supposedly I do NOT have gastritis now (the last endoscopy showed clear)
-Supposedly I have no SIBO (even though my recent hydrogen breath test reached a score of 62 after around the two hour mark.)
-Supposedly I have no H Pylori (2 negative results)
-Supposedly my gallbladder and pancreas are fine (according to scans)
-Supposedly no celiac disease
So…I’m at a loss. I feel that I now need to start doing some tests of my own but I find it all a bit overwhelming…..
QUESTIONS:
  1. Has anyone actually healed or at least massively improved after learning something from a test ordered online..? If so, what test did you do and what did you learn / change..?
  2. Does anyone here have any good recommendations for a GI Map test (deliverable within the UK) that is reliable, and not too hard to understand..? And how much should one cost..?
Thanks guys! 🙏
