-she left us with no keyholder during mother’s day bogo for almost 3 hours because she scheduled herself off for that time and didn’t schedule any shift lead during then, and tried to have one of our baristas take charge when he wouldn’t even be compensated because he’s not a shift lead, it’s not his job. one of our new shift leads walked in while it was happening because she needed the keys to open the next morning and when she realized we didn’t have a keyholder she got in the floor to help us. she called the district manager and he did absolutely nothing about it. she came back late too. she texted the shift lead that tried to coach her about not going without a keyholder for more than 30 mins and our manager texted her later that our shift lead “didn’t make a very good first impression” SHE CAME TO CLEAN UP YOUR MESS

Hi, this may be a long post, but I'm trying to figure myself out and I want to see what you all have to say. For context, I am a 16 year old probably closeted trans girl and I live in one of the worst places for trans people in the US. So my story starts off when I was pretty young. I remember one time, when I was like 4, my parents were expecting a baby and when the gender was revealed to be a boy, I was pretty upset. I thought that being a girl was so much more superior and I was disappointed that he would live as a boy. Later, when I was like 6 or 7 I remember being very "depressed" (for lack of a better word) that I was a boy. I hated my genitals and I would do anything to be a girl. For the next several years, I think I repressed those feelings. But a pretty important thing happened when I was like 11. I think I just learned about trans people and I was talking to my very conservative friend about why I didn't understand that lgbt people were so frowned upon. He went on about how God is never wrong and all that BS. At first, I didn't really care but as time progressed, I really started disliking LGBT. I was a big transphobe and somewhat of a homophobe, but I mostly targeted my hate to trans people. I was the stereotypical GC person, I engaged in all of their discourse and saw trans people as just their birth gender etc. But even with that, there was a small part of me that didn't hate trans people. So back in like November ish, I finally started accepting trans people (I already stopped being homophobic well before this point.
So back to current day. I have been questioning my gender for about 6 months now. I've looked up gender dysphoria symptoms and everything and I fall somewhat into those categories. I've done the famous "would you press a button to turn you female forever" test and I absolutely would press the button. But even with this, I still feel doubt. I'm worried that if I'm trans, it wouldn't be worth losing my friends, business opportunities, legal rights, etc just to be myself. I've been thinking of names and such, but nothing really works for me. I hear she/her and it just sounds weird, probably because I've used he/him my whole life. There's probably more details I'm missing, but that concludes pretty much my whole experience. If anyone has any advice please let me know.

Due with baby #2 (a girl this time!) in July and it feels like I have scoured the whole internet considering every possible name for her. Our son is Brooks Alexander—love the connection to nature and somewhat uncommon first name with more traditional middle name. We have a two syllable last name starting with B and ending with an “n”.

Hello there! Welcome to what is likely going to be a long, rambly post. I'm going to structure this as though I were answering job interview questions, because let's face it, dating is a glorified job interview for a relationship/getting laid.
Oh, and to save some of you the time reading this (though I did spend a while writing it mind you), I'm 5'5, and it's perfectly fine if that doesn't work for you. I have preferences too! Anyway...
Tell me About Yourself.
Ah, this one is a classic to start off with, glad you asked (or told me to elaborate? Same idea)!
First and foremost, I am a nerd. My favorite day of the week is Sunday, because that's when my D&D game happens (It's actually Pathfinder, but I say D&D because most people are not into the hobby), and this account is named after the character I play in that very game! Feel free to ask for more details at the risk of an overly excited explanation. I also play video games, usually single-player CRPGs, but lately I've been playing Hades and I like being on voice call when I do that.
Professionally I'm... still in school. Here's a lengthy, detailed discussion as to why that is: anxiety sucks. Phew, that was so lengthy, glad that's over! Anyway, I'm a nuclear engineering major and plan to graduate in 4 semesters. In all seriousness, I don't mind going over the full story once we're talking.
What are Some of Your Hobbies?
Lists are helpful for this one! So here we go:

• D&D. Yes I mentioned it already, I'm doing it here again because it's so nice I'll mention it twice! Also, I find that lists are more impressive with more bullet points. Longer bullet points too, that makes it look even more impressive.
• Hockey. When I'm not looking for potential mates, I spend my time shitposting on the hockey subreddit. I've been to 3 NHL games so far and plan to go to more!
• Anything related to animals. For reference, some of the channels I watch on YouTube are Snake Discovery, Clint's Reptiles and Girl with the Dogs.
• Tech stuff. Electric cars, phones, gadgets, all of it is at least of some casual interest to me.

What do You Want in a Potential Partner?
Someone who's not an asshole, not a catfish looking to get $100 dollars out of me to fix their fake iPhone (yes, this happened), shares some interests with me, willing to do some basic stuff (sharing a picture, voice calling, video calling eventually) and treats me with respect. I can't remember lyrics. I can't remember the band's name. I do remember a banjo being played. The song is about this guy being different inanimate objects for this girl, like her sweater and a candle. The album cover has two people (I think it's two). They kind of look like astronauts. They have large helmets on. I think they are standing in the desert.

In consideration of anime onlys I named the title that way. But I have a theory on who I think the teacher is and I still lean towards it being Amane especially after the latest chapter where we see that the ‘supernatural Tsukasa’ they called out eradicated one girl. Quite a lot of people theorized that the teacher is Tsukasa because Amane should’ve died early in this timeline because Tsukasa wouldn’t interact with the “God”.
But what if Tsukasa still interacted with the “God” and saved Amane? The source of the power of this “God” is probably in the school as it’s where the rituals used to take place. And as we can see, one student was taken when they summoned Tsukasa, though for what reason I have no idea. Meaning the “God” is still taking people for granting wishes. Like how they granted Tsukasa’s wish to heal Amane. My theory is that the clock keepers didn’t or didn’t managed to prevent Tsukasa and the “God” from interacting. But they prevented Tsukasa from coming back from the other shore (honestly not sure what it’s supposed to be, but the place where all sacrificed kannagis end up), so he wouldn’t mess around with people and Amane’s future. For whatever reason, the “God” probably still weakened and needed a body as a medium to be an active supernatural and gain power and Tsukasa is the medium. Because the “God” doesn’t seem like it’s easy to satisfy by sacrificing the kannagis and would constantly ask for more sacrifices.
So if Tsukasa never made it back, why was Amane smiling when he heard the girls summoning for Tsukasa? My theory is that he was the one who spread the rumor of Tsukasa in this timeline. Tsuchigomori once said that it’s difficult for supernaturals to spread the rumors themselves. And the more well known the rumor, the stronger the supernatural could become and stay on the near shore. So Amane could’ve found out about Tsukasa sacrificing himself for his illness in this timeline, but kept him around on the near shore by spreading rumors about Tsukasa in the school where he is working too. Obviously there’s also a possibility that it’s adult Tsukasa and the one they summoned in that timeline wasn’t Tsukasa.

the plot went along the lines of this girl being held captive in a bunker with this other guy (also captive) and one day the other guy fights off their captor to let her escape (presumably killing him). in the future she makes a book about her experience being captive, and the guy she was held captive with comes to find im her or something.
i remember the guy who was held captive with her had a very particular name, but i honestly can’t remember what it was.

VII: Regalia Dorn (Rogal Dorn):
This is one I’ve changed my mind on since discovering this subreddit and seeing many people settle on Regalia Dorn. I originally had Rigel Dorn on my list.
I think I deviated too far from the original feel of the name for the sake of preserving the same number of syllables and consonance. Rigel is the name of a star in the Orion constellation. It comes from the Arabic “Rijil Jauzah al Yusra,” meaning “the left foot of Orion.” Rigel therefore means “leg, foot.” I liked the connection with stability since Dorn knows the value of a good foundation. I think I also was trying to avoid having too many names that end in an “A.”
However, Rigel has a very weak connection to the sense conveyed by Rogal. “Rogal” appears to be a combination of “royal” and “regal,” which are doublets for “befitting a monarch.” In this respect, I think the name Regalia Dorn is superior because it too refers to royalty, meaning “royal privileges / powers,” especially in the sense of decorations and outfits indicating high office through their ostentation. Dorn’s gold armor and status as the Praetorian of Terra certainly fits this sense of the word “regalia.”
VIII: Kore Curze [Kor-Ee] (Konrad Curze):
Another literary reference, Konrad Curze is a reference to Joesph Conrad, the author of “Heart of Darkness.” The story is about the search for an ivory trader named Kurtz in the “Congo Free State,” an African colony of Belgium that existed from 1885 to 1908.
This discussion is about to get very serious (discussion of racism, slavery, and human mutilation), so please exercise discretion in reading further. However, I believe this historical context is necessary to understand “Heart of Darkness” and the themes that influenced the character of Konrad Curze.
Belgium’s King Leopold II privately owned the “Congo Free State” and unofficially owned the Congolese people as slaves. As an example of the sub-human manner in which the Congolese people were regarded by Leopold, approximately 300 Congolese people were brought to Belgium and put in a human zoo designed as a fenced-in parody of an African village. Seven Congolese died of illnesses while imprisoned there as the public was allowed to gawk at them.
Leopold’s demands for productivity from the colony resulted in the population being treated worse than animals for the sake of extracting resources such as rubber. Congolese people were shot to death for failing to meet rubber collection quotas. Their hands were then cut off by their executioners to prove the bullets weren’t being “wasted” or stockpiled for a mutiny. The hands of the Congolese became a perverse currency because companies in the colony could offset low rubber production by using the hands as a demonstration the company’s militia “resolved” the low production issues. The companies therefore incentivized their soldiers to harvest Congolese people’s hands by promising to shorten the duration of the soldiers' service abroad based on the number of hands collected. Eventually, soldiers realized they could save ammunition by cutting off the hands of people that were still alive.
In “Heart of Darkness,” Kurtz is an ivory trader that has gone mad from his participation in these atrocities against the Congolese people. Kurtz had wanted to “civilize” the Congolese, indulging in the racist idea that black people required the intervention of white Europeans to lift them out of “barbarism.” Over time, Kurtz grew accustomed to the inhuman treatment of the Congolese people and even started to like it. He managed to create a cult that worshipped him and wished to indulge openly in hurting people for sport, unlike the other colonizers that hid their inhumanity behind more polite motives like seeking profit. Ultimately, Kurtz adopts a nihilistic view of the world where no one has a right to judge his actions because the world allowed all this horror to happen on its own.
Curze is a derivation of Kurtz, combining the name with “curse.” “Cursed” pretty much describes both Konrad Curze and Kurtz. Konrad is, as mentioned above, a reference to the author of “Heart of Darkness,” Joseph Conrad. Conrad is derived from the German name Konrad, which comes from the Proto-West Germanic “koni,” meaning “bold, brave,” and “rad,” meaning “advice, counsel.”
The themes of engaging in atrocities out of spite for the world itself are present in both Curze and Kurtz. Needless to say, this is the grimdarkest of all the primarchs and one a noblebright setting will have to do a lot of heavy lifting the rehabilitate in a manner that is narratively satisfying. I wanted the new name to reflect this shift.
I could not find a feminine alternative for Konrad. Konstance was tempting (I’m fond of Konnie Curze), but I figured if I was going to deviate from the original name’s etymology I should try to tie it to the theme of darkness in a way but with a more positive connotation.
The word “koni” reminded me of the Greek “Kore,” an epithet for the Greek goddess Persephone. Kore means “The Maiden.” Persephone is the daughter of the harvest Goddess, Demeter. The god of the underworld, Hades, kidnapped Persephone and married her, though the relationship appears to be one of the more consensual ones in Greek myth beyond that detail. Demeter withdrew her power over the crops and brought on winter while Persephone was gone. However, Persephone had already eaten food in the Underworld, which bound her to that place eternally. The gods negotiated a compromise with Hades whereby Persephone would remain in the Underworld for part of each year, resulting in winter, and return to the surface for the other part of the year to appease Demeter and bring on the growing season.
Popular modern interpretations of Persephone tend to be of a pretty girl that causes nature to bloom spontaneously around her before mean old Hades captures her and brings on winter. However, the myths are quite clear that Persephone embraced her role as Queen of the Dead.
Persephone is referred to as “dread Persephone” in “The Odyssey,” indicating the sense of horror the character is meant to evoke through her status as Queen of the Underworld. The epithet Kore was a way for worshipers to refer to Persephone without uttering her terrible name. The practice is similar to the Arcadian worship of the goddess Despoina, which literally means “The Mistress.” Despoina was closely identified with Persephone and may be an older goddess the myth of Persephone arose from. The goddess’s real name was either unknown or a secret and worshipers only referred to her as "The Mistress" to avoid taking her name in vain. This is a convention familiar to Abrahamic faiths, which often use variants of “God,” “Lord,” or other euphemisms to refer to their singular god.
I like how both Kurtz and Persephone / Kore go into their own types of darkness and meet two different fates. Kurtz goes into a darkness created by humans and is consumed by it. Persephone is taken into the darkness that awaits us all in the end and accepts it. I felt this corresponded better with a noblebright take on Konrad and his struggle with the clarity of his own destiny.

After graduating with a bachelors in business admin and marketing I ran our family business for 10 years. We had a pizza business with 3 retail units and a wholesale commissary that wholesaled product to 7 stores that we licensed our name to. I also managed several commercial and residential property rentals. A year an a half ago we sold the business.
For the past year I've been working in the accounting department of a small ($6-8mm annual rev) logistics company. We use quickbooks desktop and I manage AR, AP, & payroll for about 80 employees across 5 states. The controller is allegedly retiring in the next 2 years and the owner says that I will be able to have that position.
My question is, is there anything else that I should be doing to further my career just in case the owner doesn't follow through on the promotion? I was thinking it might be valuable to start working on my CPA. It isn't required for this job but I don't like to have all my eggs in one basket. I feel like I'm not learning anything new at my current job. Also, does anyone have any recommendations for side gigs without being a CPA? I'm used to working 80+ hours a week and am trying to bring in some extra money.
