Abiotic factors about the savanna

So yesterday there was this post on confusion about how much the radio pack "helps" in terms of power drain.Here. So I spent the past hour or so with a stopwatch in one hand and staring at paint dry while I waited for the electronics battery's to deplete.
Some people claimed it helped with the arc thrower some claimed it helped with the vacuum well I put both to the test and both came back as not being useful. One item I was actually surprised that it wasn't affected by the backpack.
Thermal spear without radio pack: 50 hits before empty, with radio pack 100 hits. Double effectiveness. Same results with thermal mallet
Arc Thrower without radio pack: Lasts 45 seconds, with radio pack lasts: 45 seconds. No change.
Vacuum without radio pack: Lasts 40 seconds, with radio pack lasts 40 seconds. No change. Second test. With power pack lasted 50 seconds??? "Discrepancy detected" Without power pack 50 seconds??? Third test 52 seconds either way??? 4th test 50 seconds either way??? How did I get 40 seconds on the first check?!?!? Either way its unaffected by the radio pack. May have anomalous properties with its power consumption. Further testing may be required.
Makeshift Headlamp without radio pack: Lasts 4 minutes and 10 seconds per 250 power for a total time of 12 minutes and 30 seconds. With the Radio pack 6 minutes and 15 seconds per 250 power, 18 minutes and 45 seconds total. effective increase of 50%
Lantern without radio pack: Lasts 1 minute and 40 seconds per 100 power for a total time of 16 minutes and 40 seconds. With radio pack lasts 1 minute 40 seconds per 100 power, in total 16 minutes and 40 seconds. No effective change.
Flashlight: Without radiopack : Lasts 1 minute and 40 seconds per 100 power for a total time of 8 minutes and 20 seconds. With radio pack it lasts 2 minutes and 30 seconds per 100 power, for total time of 12 minutes and 30 seconds. Effective increase of 50%.
Makeshift headlamp, lantern and flashlight all have a base power consumption of 1 power per second without the radio pack. Themal spear and Thermal mallet use two power per hit without the backpack and 1 power per hit with the backpack.
Now take this test with a grain of salt. I haven't seen anyone else post test results so if someone else wants to run a few tests of their own with various power draining items with and without the radio pack that'd be helpful. Nothing here is conclusive as the game is still early access and there may be bugs.

Heya! I would love to make a new friend who would like to be part of a small group of friends who play and talk to eachother often as i've found some great friends on reddit before so I wanted to try my luck again. I play pretty much daily, mostly in the evenings and till late when I can if im not working or busy for some reason or another. Since not everyone is on all the time, I feel that theres room for one more to be a close friend and be included especially in co-op games where I find most games are always more fun with a friend or group. So it'd be nice to be able to form a full group or have another friend for party games and to be able to talk to.
I exclusively play on PC and mainly use discord every day, so I prefer to voice chat when we game. I've been told i'm quite friendly and easy to talk to as are my friends so don't worry if you feel a bit shy at first. I hope to find someone to be able to have a laugh with or get down to business in a game, but also be able to talk or text outside of playing too, where the friendship truly is long-term because I don't see the point in short lived or one off play session buddies anywho.
I am looking for a friend who would like to be my close friend first and foremost but also want to be adopted into my handful of close friends to join on a bunch of different games ranging from pvp, co-ops, pve, survivals and more since we like to play a whole variety of games all the time. So it would be nice if you're flexible, and open and willing to try new games. I tried the demo for Voidtrain and it just didn't grab me. Really interesting, promising for sure, but needs longer to cook. Same for Enshrouded.
I've not heard good things about Nightingale, which is disappointing. Seems really unique.
Any reports on Abiotic Factor? Half-life BBG? Looks...rough. EDIT: I see it has an overwhelmingly positive score with a ton of early access reviews. I'm gonna give this one a little longer in the oven and then try it out.

My name is Daniel, 16 right now, and mostly just looking for someone to play games with, or online friends. I'd like to be friends with whoever I play with, and am open to trying new games. Currently, I've been really in to The Finals, and other such FPS's, but I'd hope that once I get to know whoever I'm playing with, we could move onto more casual games, such as modded Minecraft, The Forest, or Abiotic Factor.
I'm fine with playing more casual games to start off with, but I'd rather get to know someone before hand, so we have something to talk about, or similar humor, so that the experience isn't mostly just awkward silence.

I have been really enjoying the hell out of abiotic factor and there are somethings I would love to add to the melee combat.

1. Right now, it feels like melee combat is majorly - swing big stick and hope it hits. Think it would be fun if we could add directional swings to it. For example: when a creature jumps to hug your face, then swinging downwards makes more sense instead of an arc.
   
2. When equipping a shield instead of just a block would be great to add a shield bash which would add a stagger to the monster giving more combat choice. Could be a skill that you gain as you use the shield more.
   
3. Breaking things off enemies or making them limp would be interesting both as a way to escape from enemies and a visual indicator of the enemies health
   
4. If your arm health is low the way you swing your weapon changes (this sounds annoying as hell but I think it adds a little more depth to dealing with limb damage)
   

What else do you think would help with more interesting combat? And also if you have any thoughts about why some of these might not work would love to understand that point of view as well.

Looking for some duos or groups to play your standard run of Co-op games. In particular I'd love to play through Abiotic Factor but I have most of the other games, Content Warning, Helldivers, Lethal Company etc, and I'm open to new games.
Outside of games I'm a bit of a gym rat and big into anime/manga and film/tv and it would be cool if we can chat about shared interests!

The alt-media promotes the narrative that the current fiat dollar system is on the verge of collapse due to massive debts which are exponentially increasing. The system collapsed in 2008 and was temporarily revived with QE (massive money printing) until it began to collapse again in 2019- hence the COVID scam-demic and WW3 (even more money printing) to keep the system alive until Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) can be rolled out as a replacement. This is supposedly the motive for the WEF's "Great Reset by 2030".
I think this narrative is a Limited Hangout. First of all, the debts wouldn’t matter if the economy was growing. Also, the debts were created out of thin air and debt default therefore should be an option. (Banks charge compound interest on debt that was created out of nothing i.e. banks do NOT “lend” money from deposit funds as is commonly believed! Even worse, governments have the right to issue debt-free currency but instead they borrow it with interest from Central Banks per the hidden PTB!) I don’t mean to suggest the debt isn’t a problem- my point is it’s a manufactured crisis- so it’s NOT the motive for the Great Reset. The big question then is what’s keeping the economy from growing, which brings us to Peak Oil (PO), another possible motive for the Great Reset.
After researching Peak Oil, my conclusion is PO is real and we’re finally seeing it after all of the false predictions. Our entire economy is based on cheap oil and wind/solanuclear only produce electricity, which can't replace transportation fuel. Naysayers counter that oil is abiotic (which may be the case) but they don’t factor in the low replenishment rate. Also, PO has nothing to do with running out of oil- the earth has centuries of oil left- the issue is getting it out of the ground and still having surplus energy left. (Fracking and off-shore drilling have LOW net energy and are no panacea.) Naysayers also claim the Elite are suppressing “free energy” in order to maintain oil profits, which could indeed be the case, but that doesn't help us unless the PTB share it with us. (My guess is the PTB DO have free-energy and use it to power their Deep Underground Military Bases.)
Note: Most conspiracy theorists HATE PO because they fear it justifies massive depopulation after all.
At this point, my family increased our prepping i.e. stockpiling food and water. And I also became severely depressed about the inevitable collapse to SHTF in a post-PO world.
Early last year, I learned of a theory that the "Great Reset by 2030" is really just a distraction from an imminent cyclic cataclysm (likely a pole-shift), which also explains why the PTB don't care about the debts and PO. (A 0H commenter even believes a pole-shift would replenish cheap oil.) It also explains the PTB's obsession with the Phoenix and a "New World Order". I was open to this theory because the WEF feels fake and cartoonish and I came to believe in it because there's overwhelming evidence of a cataclysm about 12,000 years ago. Mainstream science claims that civilization started 8,000 years ago but they also claim humanity has been around for 200,000 years. That makes no sense when there are ancient ruins like the Great Pyramid and Sphinx that clearly predate our civilization. And ruins of lost cities have been found off the coast of the UK, Japan and India, etc.
This cataclysm is linked with the precession of the Equinoxes and early signs of it include the Earth's waning magnetic field and solar changes such as the recent pink auroras. Global warming is a PSYOP meant to provide political cover for these "earth changes", which are also likely being suppressed by chemtrails.

After coming to this conclusion, I then learned of a 2016 reddit thread, which also predicts a cataclysm after a "life-altering" event in 2020:

Accepting this theory got me over my PO depression. But it quickly led to some harsh realizations: Prepping is great for a short-term disaster but for anything long-term, you really do have to be one of the Elite so you can gain access to a DUMB. The only other option is to live in a close-knit community that is completely self-sufficient. Good luck finding that! And for a world-ending event like a pole-shift, only those in DUMBs or primitive people who live in remote areas will survive.
From my POV, the worse-case scenario is a solar flare/EMP that takes down the global power grid. That would be a horrific Mad Max scenario where billions suffer agonizing deaths over the span of months. So I actually "hope" for a massive solar flare/CME/tsunami which takes us out quickly and painlessly so we won't even know what hit us. Given the choice between starvation or being killed by looters, then I guess a near instantaneous death from a massive solar flare/tsunami isn't so bad. I've made peace with this scenario as long as my family and I go together without suffering.
To get over my fear and worry, here's a mantra I tell myself: "Don’t worry, be happy. Don’t be your own worst enemy. YOU have 100% control over how you respond. Whatever will happen is outside of your control and will happen unexpectedly anyway- none of the alt-media predictions are correct- by design. The PTB want us wallowing in fear porn. Do some basic (short-term) prepping but otherwise don’t worry about it. Billions of people are in the same boat as you. If our time is up, then so be it."
Although a cliché, it's true we should be grateful for the many blessings in our lives -especially our loved ones- and not take them for granted- and appreciate them as much as possible while we still have time.

Tree care activities require thorough and highly qualified training with special emphasis on occupational safety.
The applicant must demonstrate that they have already met the CCA - Ground Worker certification level.
Main activities:

• knowledge of the principles of individual tree treatment technologies, including their justification based on knowledge of basic tree anatomy and physiology,
• basic type of current tree safety check with knowledge of the main defects and basic phytopathology,
• carrying out all types of tree pruning using techniques for working at height,
• carrying out special stabilisation interventions (especially safety ties),
• performing tree felling from the ground and progressive felling of trees using chainsaws,
• securing the work area and carrying out all practical applications with an appropriate level of occupational safety.

CCA tree climber must be able to:

• Explain the basic rules of tree growth and development, function, structure, and age stages in order to make the correct decision to use appropriate arboricultural measures.
• Take into account the natural components of the habitat and understand their influence on tree growth and development in order to correctly decide on the use of appropriate arboricultural measures.
• Identify the most important tree species in their working area.
• Determine the quality of nursery stock.
• Take into account the tree as a habitat and determine any differences in treatment when encountering organisms attached to the tree (bird nests, cavity insects, etc.).
• Identify the main diseases, pests and abiotic stresses on trees.

The CCA tree climber must:

• Understand the tasks and areas of tree care activities and be able to operate and maintain the materials, machinery and tools used.
• Comply with the relevant national safety regulations and the European Arboricultural Council directive "Principles of tree work safety".
• Understand and apply normal working practices when:
• improving tree habitat conditions,
• planting young and replanting mature trees,
• protecting the tree during construction or excavation activities,
• static securing (tying) of tree crowns,
• protection from injury and actual treatment of tree injuries,
• tree pruning,
• felling trees.
• Recognize operationally hazardous trees and significant tree damage.

Czech Certified Arborist - Platformer performs tree treatment around public transport (VDI) and technical infrastructure (VTI), exclusively using a forklift. The aim of his activity is to ensure smooth operation of VDI/VTI and at the same time healthy and safe condition of trees. He acts on the basis of his expertise, taking into account not only nature and environmental protection aspects, but also the relevant safety regulations in force in the Czech Republic. The participant demonstrates theoretical and practical knowledge of applicable legislation, relevant Nature and Landscape Care Standards and other industry standards, guidelines and regulations. The tree treatment consists of the implementation of selected types of pruning (see main activities) used for the treatment of trees around VDI and VTI. Interventions may only be carried out close to paved surfaces or in locations where forklift access is ensured.
The applicant must demonstrate that they have already met the CCA - Ground Worker certification level.
Main lines of action:

• Knowledge of the principles of selected tree treatment technologies (see below), including their justification based on knowledge of basic tree anatomy and physiology,
• basic type of current tree safety check with knowledge of the main defects and basic phytopathology,
• the implementation of the educational pruning of trees (S-RV),
• from the group of maintenance pruning, carrying out safety pruning (S-RB) and local reductions (S-RLLR, S-RLSP, S-RLPV),
• making shaping cuts (S-RTHL, S-RTPP, S-RTZP),
• felling trees from the ground and successive felling of trees from a platform using a chainsaw,
• securing the working area and carrying out all practical applications with an appropriate level of occupational safety.

The CCA Platformer must be able to:

• Understand regulations related to workplace safety, safety of persons in the work area and work organization rules.
• Understand all relevant legal standards and regulations (including labour law regulations) relevant to his/her field of work.
• Know the basics of first aid and transporting an injured person from the tree canopy to the ground.
• Recognise possible conflicts between tree treatments and nature conservation in relation to the tree as a habitat and propose solutions.

Czech Certified Arborist - Consultant (hereinafter referred to as CCA - Consultant) provides expert and advisory services related to the protection and care of woody plants, especially those growing outside the forest. The aim of his activity is to suggest appropriate cultivation and protection measures to ensure the safety of the habitat and the good condition of the retained trees. It acts on the basis of expert knowledge, taking into account the condition and function of the trees in the area, aspects of nature conservation and the human environment, as well as relevant legal standards and safety regulations. The consultancy activity consists of carrying out dendrological surveys and other specialised tree surveys, designing optimal types of treatment including specialised stabilisation interventions, carrying out technical supervision, designing and checking protective measures implemented to protect trees during construction activities. The participant demonstrates theoretical and practical knowledge of the applicable legislation, relevant Standards of Nature and Landscape Care and other sectoral standards, guidelines and regulations. CCA - The consultant is a possible collaborator of other professions (e.g. landscape architects, greenkeepers) also when dealing with issues that go beyond the level of individual specimens of trees (e.g. care of groups or stands of trees and trees that are part of composite units).
The applicant must demonstrate that they have already met the CCA - Ground Worker certification level.
Main activities:

• conducting dendrological research based on comprehensive knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of trees and their phytopathology,
• proposals for cultivation measures on individual trees and groups of trees,
• justification and proposals for special interventions (e.g. stabilisation cuts, interventions aimed at promoting and maintaining biodiversity),
• protection of trees during construction activities,
• valuation of trees growing outside the forest.

The consultant must be able to:

• Know the main species and cultivars of trees and shrubs growing in the urbanized environment of the Czech Republic and know their ecological requirements.
• Know the anatomy, morphology and physiology of woody plants within the scope of the prescribed literature. To be able to explain the main life processes of woody plants, their temporal and spatial dynamics including their sensitivity to stressors.
• Understand and be able to explain the relationship between woody plants and their environment incl. Identify physiognomic signs of woody plant distress and target habitat modification.

The consultant must:

• Be familiar with quarantine diseases and legislation associated with the area
• Know the main pests and diseases on trees within the scope of the prescribed literature.
• Recommend the optimum course of action to be taken when a tree is attacked by diseases or pests.
• Recognise the important species of wood-boring fungi and xylobiont insects.
• Know all the main methodologies used for valuation of trees in the Czech Republic (AOPK CR methodology, Hessian methodology, Act No. 151/97 Coll., on property valuation) and be able to use them in practice.
• Know the focus and legislative framework for the use of each methodology
• Be familiar with the methodologies for tree inventory and be able to demonstrate how the methodologies are set up and how they can be applied to specific conditions.
• Be able to use basic equipment to provide dendrometric characteristics of trees.
• Be able to assess basic tree parameters using visual techniques- health, vigour, operational safety- incl. Use of special methodologies (VTA, SIA, WLA).
• To know the basic instrumental methods of assessing the condition of woody plants, to be able to describe the possibilities of their use and the limits of the testimony.
• To recommend the optimal treatment procedure based on the observed condition of the tree species in relation to environmental factors. * Have a detailed knowledge of the content of the various technological interventions, including the main implementation errors.
• Know the legislation and technical possibilities for the protection of trees in construction activities. Be able to draw up an inventory and propose protective measures for specific cases.
• Know the legislation in the field of nature and landscape.
• Recognise the basic types of habitats of specially protected species of organisms associated with woody plants.Be familiar with tree planting technologies.
• Know the possibilities of habitat modification.
• Be familiar with tree pruning.
• Know conservation treatments and installation of safety ties.
• Know the treatment options for senescent trees.
• Be able to suggest proper growing measures.

Hello, fellow science team,
I come to ask a simple question, I usually put on game lore videos when I work from home and wanted to dive a bit more into Abiotic Factor lore but I feel no one has taken the time to do a lore video about the game and universe.
Does anyone know of some being made or are out yet?

As the title suggests this feels criminal how many people are playing Abiotic Factor. It's all but on par with something like Marauders as far as player base to how imaginative and innovative the game is for the formula and genre of game.
I mean just look at the number of people on the sub I need everyone to know about this game and to play it lol. My friends and I are just mind boggled as to why there aren't 5-10 times more people practicing science out there in the cascade facility. I truly love this game the last game that held me like this in the "God I wish I was playing x game" was Valheim and it got its roses.
TLDR; more people need to know how good this game is... And I need more of it ASAP 😂

So recently i noticed that the achievements i earn in games are no longer popping up as notification nor producing a sound while i am in game. I have both my steam overlay and notifications enabled but i am still receiving only notifications about messages and invites not achievements.
The issue seems to persist over all games i have been playing recently: Abiotic Factor, Sun Haven, Tiny Tina's Wonderland. I have to manually check for the achievements i earned instead of being notified when i actually earn them.
This started happening not too long ago so i am assuming the cause of this glitch/bug is one of the steam updates. Any help with this issue is greatly appreciated

I'm really wanting to play : Sons of The Forest, Lethal Company, Elden Ring Seamless CO-OP run with some mods hopefully, Abiotic Factor, maybe Starship Trooper, and other CO-OP centric games.
Atm I'm playing Hearthstone, Sons of The Forest, and Warhammer Total War at the moment. Really love story games and immersive experiences, especially CO-OP focused. Love the soulsborne series!

games i loved/ top tiers for me: minecraft, stardew, terraria, valheim
games i really liked but eventually fell off of just due to honestly loosing its replayability or it got boring:
dinkum, core keeper, sun haven, enshrouded, necesse, pal world, raft, roots of patcha, starbound, subnautica, animal crossing, sons of the forest, no man’s sky, the sims, abiotic factor
what i’m looking for: crafting, i love love love games with a billion things to craft especially when a lot of that is either asthetic or practical use stuff. ideally i would love a game with never ending things to craft that you had to figure out how to craft them.
and other then that: co op 100% i have the most fun when i can play w my bf and friends,
survivals i like open world survival crafts not bc u have to drink food or water but bc i like the aspect of having to make it on ur own and being thrust into a world where you have to adapt,
i love when you can build bases and make them really asthetic and spend hours building them,
and replayability is huge for me, the reason i loved minecraft and terraria outside of everything is how i could loose myself for so long in those games and not get bored which once you slay the gender dragon or the last boss it does kinda fizzle out
i want a game i can just literally play forever that never gets boring and there’s so much to do which is why i also like sandbox style games. people will hate on me for this but i often find games boring when i know there about to end or im running out of things to do, i usually quit a game right before it ends😭
