I[25F] and my S/o Met in high school. dated immediately after that and have been on and off ever since. When we first started dating, we were happy. I was swooned with our relationship and would take pictures of us, and he, at every turn. I cherished the small details, holding his hand, watching him sleep... I probably loved him more than I loved my self. He seemed happy also, but over time I noticed he would not express his emotions as clearly and I often found myself questioning his feelings for me 24/7.
The first time we broke up was 2 years into our relationship. He was struggling with balancing his toxic home life, ambitious pursuits, a passionate yet, tumultuous relationship with me, and a deep connection with his best friend [27M] who I can say with confidence never liked me. This best friend was a big issue in our relationship and was a big reason we broke up again a few years later. There was no infidelity as they are both straight, but I often felt that my partner had an intimate connection with this person that he did not share with me. No matter what I did to try to connect, during that time in our relationship, I felt alone. We were really happy for the first couple of years after we got back together but after the 5th year, I felt like I was living with a roommate who did not desire to be with me. I often had to go out on my own and realize I had to rely on myself.
Our 2nd break up felt like a divorce as we broke our lease and he moved out. I was devastated to say the least, and I take full responsibility for my part in our downfall. He was a gentlemen all the way through the ending of our contractual relationship. Things were cordial, but he made it known leaving was the best thing for him and maybe in the future there was a space for us. Communicate became shitty if any.
I was heartbroken, but had gone through it before and so I made arrangements to move on. I focused on myself and my well being and changed my situation around. I was going out, meeting new people and making friends, I was dating. I decided to move after a great job offer and then of course.
He comes back.
& this time he’s dead set on staying. Our 2nd break up was in 2022 and we haven’t gotten back together, but he hasn’t really left me. We talk constantly and I know this time that he is 100% committed, but now I am the one that doesn’t feel 100% in this. How do I separate someone who is a nice caring and overall great person, from all of the hurt they’ve given me. I’m not as into things as I once was. I don’t yearn for his touch and if I’m not in the mood his touch bothers me. I don’t mind his company, but I’m always thinking there could be someone else better suited for me. I di love him, but I don’t know if I like him right now.
What would you do in this situation?

2024.06.02 08:43 Conjections Another noob question
So I've been having a blast on this game, however, I have been and am still a controller player through and through. Never played a game I didn't remap to controller. Tanked raids in WoW with controller. So far I have done a semi successful job at mapping everything the way I want it. But I started trying to figure out planes/jets. I cannot for the life of me figure out why my right and left triggers steer the planes as well as do their functions I assigned. When I scroll the "plane control" tab or whatever it was called, there is no slot filled with either trigger. And yet they cause the plane to steer in their respective directions in addition to whatever the other bind I have set them to. For instance, the right trigger shoots the selected gun, but it also veers right. The left trigger is part of my "operate the targeting camera" command but it also veers left. I feel like whatever is doing this HAS to be hidden under one of the tabs. I just can't seem to figure out which. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also I should mention, I have come across multiple other issues in multiple things being mapped to my keys, but have been able to resolve them by tracking down the offending function and deleting the undesired bind. Leaving the bind I personally set. I guess I'm mostly confused as to why there's no "steer plane left/right key" under the plane movement section that has something mapped to it.

I have gotten to a point where living day to day is excruciating. I'm in a constant state of dread and anxiety that will not calm down no matter what I do. And that constant feeling of being on the edge has left me stagnant and hopless. I have been trying for months for get a steady job after my first job (a job I really enjoyed and had decent pay) went bankrupt. And then I got another job but the boss was so terrible that me and half the staff quit. And since then I have been applying everyday to all sorts of places but I would never hear back from them after applying. Or I will hear back, then I'll go to an interview, sometime 2 or 3, only for me to never hear back from them afterwards. Or I get rejected when they actually have the decency to send an email saying so. So I don't have a job and I'm not in school cause I took a gap year to work and save money, only for my plans to fall through. And now I'm on my second year away from school because I had to deffer my acceptance into university because I couldn't pay my tuition even with my scholarship.
On top of all of this, I have only one friends, I'm not in a relationship, and my family is very toxic and draining. Especially my eldest brother, who used to use me for free labour when i was young and would always act like he had authority over me because he was older. He would be completely dismissive of my feelings and would often rage at everyone in the house over the smallest things. Yet he would also always try to cling to me and try to "hang out" with me even though not even an 10 minutes ago he was screaming and my mom or my other siblings. He's always been the type of person to hold grudges against people who did him wrong but if anyone did the same to him, he would cry or scream or threaten to kill himself. And he is honestly a really big part of the trauma I think I have. Because just being around him makes me feel unbelievably anxious and unsafe. But I can't do anything about it cause I dont have the money to move out.
I just feel so alone and so trapped and I have no idea how to get myself out of it and I'm scared. I'm scared that at 16 I felt so terrible all the time. I would have panic attacks before going to school then I would cry myself to sleep when I got back home. I wrote a lot of suicide note then too. It was a way to get the feelings out. And one day I felt so terrible that I set a death date for myself. I promised myself that if things didn't get better by then, that would be my out. And the closer I get to that date the more it looks like the most viable option.
I'm just so sick of feeling helpless and terrible. It's so hard to breath most days. And all the stress has made it hard to sleep or eat in a healthy way. And it feels like all my emotions are messed up. I've lost interest in everything that isn't scrolling through tik toks for hours. And when I'm not depressed and anxious, I'm angry and annoyed. Which has led me to ignore or be snappy with my best friend and my family. And I hate that side of myself. I don't like taking out my frustrations on them cause they didn't do anything. And I don't even know why I'm so angry. I was never this angry l, I didn't use to be this person. But I also don't know who I was before the regret, the guilt and sadness. I feel like myself but also like I have no idea who the hell I am most days.
And no one understands this. I don't have anyone who is there for me or who I can confide in. My family won't get it. I use to be a high honor roll student, was in student government and played sports and everything. They have such high expectations of me and they won't understand my inability to be how I once was. They wouldn't get it if I told them about how I can barley function now or do anything other than rot in my bed. And don't ask me to "try to talk to them cause they are family". Because I have multiple times and everytime was they told me the same things; "you'll get through it." Or "Everyone goes through stress." Or "its not that big a deal."
I can't go through the same sweep it under the rug pep talks they always give. I think if I hear the words "you're going be okay" again I might explode. Nothing about how I feel is okay. Nothing about my life is fine and im tired. I'm just so fucking tired. I only have a couple more months of trying before the date I set is here. Hopefully I will feel relief then.

i’m 19m and i’ve had my fair share of poor religious experiences. i don’t know if they constitute as trauma really, but it has had some effect on my life course. for some context, i’m transgender and queer. my parents raised me in the church, but they never forced any of their beliefs on me. they expressed many times that whatever religion i chose was fine with them, and that they took me to church solely because i was too young to be left home alone. when i was in 6th grade, i came out to my parents as bisexual. they confided in our pastor at the time, because they wanted some support in learning how to navigate my new identity. my parents were then told by the pastor that i was no longer welcomed in that church unless i started leading a better life. my parents quickly decided to let me attend a different church. the only reason i was still required to attend was because they didn’t trust leaving me alone due to a history of self harm. i found solace in the new church, many of my friends from school attended with me, and there was a group of other queer people. the youth pastor never preached against homosexuality or anything. i felt as though i was finally in a place that i belonged. 8th grade came around, and i was still struggling with self harm at the time and i confided in one of the service leaders. we bonded quickly, despite him being at least 7 years older than me. i was young, and i didn’t realize how strange it was for him to take interest in me. in the end, it turned out to be him grooming me. he had sent me inappropriate photos and messages. i told one of my friends about it, thinking it was cool to have an older guy be interested in me. she expressed how weird it was and made me understand, when i confronted the service leader, he acted like he had done nothing wrong. a few weeks went by, and everything was normal. one day, my mom was waiting for me to get out of therapy, and she got a call from the youth pastor. he told her that someone he trusted very well had accused me of drawing satanic symbols while i was in church. i had obviously not done anything like that, i even showed my parents my sketchbooks and my laptop. they didn’t really need the proof, they just wanted to see if it was misinterpreted. they called the pastor back and basically told him that the accusations were bullshit, but to no avail, as i was unfortunately no longer welcome. i was around 14 years old the last time i set foot in a church, my parents finally trusted me to stay home alone and they were sick of people excluding me. they eventually also stopped attending church because of this. recently, i started a new job. i’m a waiter at a local restaurant. during my training, i saw my old youth pastor. i honestly don’t really hold anything against him, because he was just going based on the information he was fed. he didn’t have the authority to really investigate the claims, he just had the responsibility of notifying my parents. i wanted to walk up to him and say hello, but unfortunately i didn’t get a chance. earlier this afternoon, i was at a party and he was there again. another person present at this party was the service leader who groomed me and got me kicked out. i decided to say hello to the youth pastor, he seemed relatively happy to see me. he asked me about my life, and didn’t seem to have a lick of hate towards me. the service leader saw me and kept his back toward me whenever he could. all of this to say that i feel like it’s a sign that i should start going back to church. not the same church of course, but a church. i don’t know though, has anyone else dealt with stuff like this? i just don’t know if this is like meant to be happening to me or something, or if it’s all just crazy coincidence. any advice is helpful.

My girlfriend and I just broke up and I don’t know what to feel. I feel empty and sad but I haven’t cried yet. I guess I’m still in denial and all. It hurt so much and I know it’s all my fault. For context if anyone cares: My girlfriend is gay and I’m bisexual. We met 9 months ago and we knew ourselves for three weeks and on the third week I told her I loved her. She was going for basic military training for 2 months and I promised to wait for her. We were already long distance and her leaving was a lot but I did try. She was gone for 6 months. A lot happened ranging from me hooking up and eventually liking someone else. When she got back. I cut things off with them and told her about it all. I unfortunately missed some details and told her later on. She said she was ok with it and forgave me. I asked her out later and she said yes. An old friend sent me a new phone as a gift since I sold my iPad to afford a computer. Woke up to a break up text after 3 months of us being together. She said she couldn’t trust me again and can’t deal with any of it anymore.
I know it’s my fault and I can’t blame her for any of it. I just don’t know how to feel. I feel empty and drained and just nothing….

Hey all! Got somewhat the specific problem here, but happens everyday now
I leave my Clarett+ 2Pre connected to my Mac and on 192khz. It used to work fine.
Now, when I boot up the computer, it won't work, I have to switch to 96khz, unplug the interface, plug it back in, and then it works again. Then I can switch it to 192khz and it'll work.
I checked on Windows and it works fine on boot, with 192khz.
Interestingly, it never did this before.
Also something I noticed which I'm pretty confident is new -- when the Mac goes to sleep mode, the power light flashes green. Before it used to just stay off.
I wonder if there was a firmware update recently and if there's any way to go back.
Also, the Windows Focusrite Control allows you to set a Buffer Rate, but Mac doesn't. I don't think it's related though.
Any thoughts? Anyone else experiencing the same? Anyone with a Clarett+ 2Pre can reproduce and confirm?

My husband (34M) and I(34F) loved each other from the bottom of our hearts, but its not like that anymore. 5 years ago, things changed between us and now everything is so differemt.
He came from an abusive household, and also has a pair of mental health disorders. His parents died in his teens, and that is when his Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder flared for the first time ever. Since then, he has been battling his own mind, and not always succesfully (He has scars up and down his arms, which is why he only wears long sleeved clothes now). When we got together, things where initially rough between us, but it got much better and it quickly bloomed into a relationship, which culminated in marrying one another. Even thouhh he was medicated, had a stable job and income, and a house of his own, his trauma used to come back and his meds where sometimes not enough. But even still, life was good for us. We traveled together to whereever we wantes. We had a great sex life (He was a Dom and I a Sub). We had anything we could ever want. And our future was set due to some savvy and lucky investments.
This culminated about 5 years ago, when I became pregnant. I will admit, I did not handle it with grace because I was not certain that I wantes to have children, nor did I want to bring a child into this world who cpuld pote tially inherit my Depression and Anxiety, and his Bipolar and Schizophrenia. I ended up running away back to my parents home, without telling him, and was there for weeks, during which I miscarried, which sadly I feel grateful for. I feel terrible about being happy about this, even to this day, but at the time it was a relief. My husband however basically went off the deep end. He didn't eat for 12 days, didnt drink wster for 12 days, didn't take his meds for 12 days, didn't sleep for 12 days, and the worst of his cutting happened during these 12 days. After that, he was incarcerated at a mental hospital after an altercation with the police, until I finally gathered the courage to return home and found him missing (the police ended up putting the pieces together and telling me where he was).
When I saw him, I was shocked. He was quite literally skin and bones. His eyes where still sunken in from a lack of sleep. And I will never forget the fresh scars on his arms. According to both himself, he thought that I had left him, he went off his meds, and the voices told him that the only way to "win me back" was to prove that he was good enough to go without the crutches. I have never, ever felt so guilty in my life, because I shouldn't have bolted like that, and I shouldn't have kept him in the dark about it. Maybe of I had been better then, things would be different, but alas here we are.
The man I knew is now gone. He was kind, fun-loving, gentle, great in bad, and more importantly he wanted to have a real relationshio and be better then his parents. Now, he doesn't do anything for himself. Literally the week after he came hoeme, he went WFH full time. While I am at work, he is at home all the time. The dishes are always done. Food is always on the table. The garden never has any weeds. The floors are always dusted. All of these things we used to do together, and we enjoyed doing it together. Now when I get home at the end of the day, there is nothing to do with him. Even in bed, things have changed. I mentioned how he used to be a Dom, and me a Sub, well thats completely inverted now. I have to tell him what to do, and even then all he does is pleasure me, but when I try to reciprocate it, he doesn't respond and it always ends with him getting me off and thats it. He doesn't express any emotion for himself. Its always for me

He used to be great friends with his coworkers and other from the nieghborhood and go out once or twice a week. Now he doesn't even talk to them or anyone else outside of work or the 1 minute of small talk whikst getting the mail. His favorite band of all time was having an anniversary tour, and he got tickets months in advance. When the time came around, I had a business trip to go on, and he insisted on not only taking a day off work to drop me off at the airport, but he also skipped the concert to pick me up. Mind you, this band was what got him through his rough childhood, and this man has posters plastered over the walls, and listens to them non-stop. And he skipped their concert to pick me up from the fucking airport. I did not even ask him to do it, I was originally going to take an Uber to and from, and I told him to go to the concert. Lo and behold, there he was waiting at the airport for me.
I have tried to talk with him about all of this, so many times, and his usual response is something like, "If you are happy, then I am happy" even though I know thats not true. The man waits on me hand and foot, does everything to make me happy, and I can tell that he is the inverse of happy. I don't/can't complain about what he is doing, because I am the cause of this and because he does everything for me, to try and make me happy.
Its like...he isn't living life actively anymore. Everything is just a routine for him. Only once has the facade ever broken, and it was when I found him curled up on our bed, in the middle of the day, sobbing his eyes put. He just kept telling me not to leave him, over and over again, for hours, which is how I know this is my fault.
I really have no idea what to do anymore. I have resorted to doing things I know he liked to do, just so that he can live some part of his life. I love this man, but he is a husk of his former self, and I miss him so much. I would do anything to get him back, but I just don't know what to do.
We have tried therapy together for a year now, and individually he has been in therapy for a very log time. Nothing seems to be working. If I have to throw myself off a bridge so that he can forget about me and live normally, I would do it at this point. I normally would not come onto the internet for advice from strangers, but I have no idea what to do, and I desperatly need suggestions/ideas on how to fix things between us.

After 6 months with the Cat S22 (Nov 2023 - May 2024), I’m starting a 30 day experiment to see if I can handle having my iPhone back. In order to prepare for this, I only have the handful of apps from the Cat S22 on my iPhone including my gym scheduling app, calculator, clock, Google Maps, Spotify, WhatsApp, and my work Authenticator. I’ve also changed the interface to black & white and added Strava.
I’m curious if I’ve learned enough discipline from the last 6 months and changed my habits sufficiently to be accountable.
The biggest changes in my lifestyle with the Cat S22 were: - READING: I’ve been reading more recently than I have in the last 15 years (7 books since March) and now carry around a book - CAMERA: I’ve acquired and gotten used to carrying around my CampSnap camera. I’ve also gotten used to taking way less photos. Not everything needs to be documented! - LOOKING UP: while waiting on line, observing my surroundings instead of mindlessly scrolling - PERSONAL EMAIL: only checking a couple times a day on my iPad instead of incessantly checking it throughout the day. I didn’t have email on the Cat S22 and won’t have it on my iPhone. - [Also, logged out of all social media and personal email on my work laptop so I’m not incessantly scrolling / refreshing throughout the day] - TEXTING: texting with T9 was cumbersome enough I opted to call friends instead. There is almost no one I’m texting on a daily basis at this point. I’m interested if I maintain that or slip back into more regular texting as it will be easier now. And/ or if I start using voice memos again (which i used a lot pre Cat S22)
The main motive to try the iPhone again is that I’m starting to train for a race and carrying only one device is preferable. Now based on my experience whenever I email someone I know my email will end up in Gmail or Outlook. This got me thinking what's the point of a Proton account if a copy of my email will end up in these servers anyways? Unless Enterprise versions of Gmail or Outlook would prevent scanning for targeted advertising, these emails will either end up on a data breach or FOIA request.
I have never sent sensitive documents through email anyways, and I don't have anyone with another Proton account where I can take advantage of E2EE emails. When I was 21, I dated a woman who cheated on me with a guy she worked with. She worked at McDonald's and I was sooo naive lol SMH! Looking back I can see where I should've just left her alone but, my anger and pride wouldn't let me! I used to come home and she acted normal even though she had just had sex with the guy before I came. I ended up meeting a guy who started working with me at my job ( I worked 2nd shift at a retirement center and my girlfriend worked morning shift at McDonald's). His name was Mike and he was cool! Anywho, we started to get cool with each other and started talking about our personal life with each other. I started talking about my girl and where she worked and that's when I learned that that was his morning job. He said he stayed to himself most of the time because it was like eff fest 98' in there especially with this guy and a girl who worked there. Of course it was my girl SMH and he overheard the conversation between the guy and my girl in which the guy said that he felt uncomfortable messing with a girl who had a man. Especially when it seems serious. She supposedly said that it wasn't serious and that she didn't care what I did and with who. She said she knows I wasn't going anywhere and Mike said he was sitting right there ( they were in the back near the freezer next to the break room where Mike was sitting) Supposedly she also said if I came out and told her that I had sex with her sister ( a baddie and easy) she wouldn't care. Mike felt bad for telling me but I thanked him and went about my day at work. He'd check on me to see if I was cool and I was. I asked my boss if I could leave early and have the next day off. He told me I was pushing it but since he was cool with me and knew what happened, he let me have it. I reached out to her sister, she was feeling me and I set it up for the next day. Nandy ( my ex) called me and said that her sister was coming over to stay because she had somewhere to be on our side of town and she was letting me know what was going on. Nandy left for work the next morning like she normally does and about an hour later me and her sis was doing the deed. Two weeks past by, Nandy and I had got into an argument. I told her I knew about her and her AP. AITAH for telling her that I had sex with her sister and not caring that she cried after hearing about what we did? I did leave her after that BTW.

Both the advert and the interview stated it was a 3 week rotating rota, going 42 hours week 1 (5 shifts) 33 hours week 2 (4 shifts) and 45 hours week 3 (5 shifts). This was a massive deciding factor for me accepting the role as I need the hours, but also wanted a position with set shifts as my previous role I would find out my next working week on either a Friday or Saturday night leaving no time for planning anything in my free time.
I've sent a message this morning asking if the shift patterns can be adjusted to what was advertised and offered in the interview to the HR department and the operations manager who decides the shift patterns as in my shift diary I am down to repeat the 32 hour pattern indefinitely until the end of August when shifts haven't yet been filled in.
I'm just curious if there is anything I can do should they come back and say they won't be changing it.
My contract from the company does not specify fixed hours, it states my hours of work could be between 12 hours and 48 hours each week.
