2024.05.18 22:01 Mysteriousgirl98 Are my hcg levels too low?

I hope I’m available to post here. My last period was April 9th-13th. I ovulation on the 21st of April. (Which would make me around 4w if we calculate from DPO, 5w+4d if calculated from last period) My period was supposed to come around May 5th. I took a pregnancy test the next day(05/06)and it was positive. On Wednesday(06/15) my hcg test was 634 and yesterday (06/17) it was 1,539. I got an ultrasound both days but doctors didn’t see anything in the uterus except thickness. Has anyone had these exact levels and everything was okay.

2024.05.18 21:58 bgram120 27M first Afib

Hi everyone! I’m a 27 year old male (NYC) with (unfortunately) maybe 8 years of hypertension under my belt. The last 3 years it’s been under control for the most part. I gained a lot of weight over the past year ~30 lbs (245 at highest), and have been working since the end of February to lose weight. I’m now 230. I’ve been hitting the gym frequently. Typically doing an hour of cardio.
This past weekend was my birthday in combo with my gfs graduation. Safe to say I was drinking quite a bit, and continuing to work out vigorously.
When it was all said and done I woke up Thursday (5/16) morning with my watch notifying me I was in Afib. I went to the ER and was released after all blood tests came back normal and heart rate was about 80 bpm (I’m on 5 mg beta blockers, so this is a lot higher than normal, but still good I guess).
I’m now on an MCOT monitor at home for over the weekend. They’re hoping I jump back into rhythm on my own but I’m still in fib.
They’ve mentioned cardioversion, but I’ve read success rates are low if you have a severely dilated left atrium (which I do, docs said this was because of exercise … ‘athletes heart’..?)
I’m honestly just depressed. I was losing weight at a healthy clip, my blood pressure was in control, had a European trip booked for early June, and was doing well mentally.
Now I feel defeated. I feel like my life is going to be short and I’m scared. I feel like every corner I turn there’s another set back waiting. Afib and hypertension at 27? I feel like a dead man walking.

2024.05.18 21:54 Embarrassed-Emu-8051 5dpo (?) and lots of mucus

5dpo (?) and lots of mucus
My cycle this month has been a bit crazy. Just as I was starting to get my head around my late ovulation and slightly short luteal, this month everything has gone out the window.
I didn’t have a peak at all or any strong results until a slightly stronger test on CD23. When I tested a few hours later it was back to weak results.
We had sex a few more times to be sure and figured I must have missed my peak on CD23.
We’re now camping and I’ve not brought any tests etc with me as to be honest, I’m happy for the break! But today, I went to the toilet and noticed a LOT of mucus. To the point where I wiped, it was slippy, and it was literally dripping off the tissue.
Today is CD29, I usually come on CD27-34 with the past few months being on the longer side.
Has anyone experienced similar? I thought things were meant to dry up more towards period time. Photo attached of my tests this month up to my last one on CD24.

2024.05.18 21:35 ContributionMother87 PKD weight gain and wedding guest dress

Hey PKD friends- without dumping my life story, I have ADPKD. My mom has had 2 livers and a kidney transplant due to same condition. We’re pretty familiar with the ins and outs of the disease, but the last few years my (new-ish) doctor has been changing my bp meds quite a bit. My function is excellent and my kidneys are huge. BP under control with Spironolactone and Lisinopril. While on beta blockers, I gained some weight…. I CANNOT get rid of it. I’m sure having large kidneys and liver affects it (my mom’s liver was 27 lbs when it was removed)! But the excess fat is in my belly, arms… just all around. For reference, I’m about 5’3 and 160 lbs. I’m more comfortable around 140 or so.
1) does anyone have any advice? I want to keep my body as healthy as I can for as long as I can.
2) in the short term, I’m going to a wedding in June and it’s a semi-formal dress code. I’ve ordered some dresses but am not having much success with the tummy area. Tips? Tricks? Suggestions?
From one big-kidney gal to another, thanks! 😊

2024.05.18 21:06 rudexvirus [Publishing Derby] the 2024 Derby is open for Sign ups!

The Fifth Annual Inkfort Press Publishing Derby
Welcome to the beginning of the 2024 Publishing Derby! The signup link for this year's event is located below the recap of each phase. Participants are heavily encouraged to read through the overviews before registering.
Phase 1
Sign-ups
The registration form will open on Saturday, May 18th and remain open until we have approximately 100 entrants.
The full list of covers will be released for viewing on Sunday, May 19th.
Reminder: the pen names on the covers are required, as all participants will be asked to remain anonymous for the event. Please see the Official Rules and FAQs for further information.
Cover Ranking
Inkfort will provide a sheet for participants to rank the covers in order of preference. It is recommended that participants do at least ten, but the ultimate decision is on the individual.
The rankings are due Sunday, May 26th at Noon (EST). The sheet should be emailed to Inkfort Press with the author's name on it.
Cover Assignment
Once the sheets have been collected, the Inkfort team will assign every participant a random number. Then, we will assign each contestant a cover based on their ranking.
Example:
Nick gets assigned the number 3
Jane gets assigned the number 2
Max gets assigned the number 1
Max gets his first pick guaranteed since he is assigned a cover first.
Jane gets her first pick unless it was the same as Max’s. If it was, then she gets her number two.
Nick is next, and he gets number one unless Max or Jane got it, then we go down the list until the very first next cover is available, which in this case would be number 3, in the worst case scenario.
If someone doesn’t rank enough covers:
It is up to each participant to choose how many covers to rank. If a scenario occurs where there is no ranking to guide the assignments, they will be assigned one from what remains at our discretion. This assignment is not negotiable. ** Cover Distribution**
Once everyone has been assigned a cover, the Inkfort Admins will distribute the covers via email. This will include a digital copy of the cover, the title, and the pen name.
(Reminder that all participants will be asked to remain one hundred percent anonymous for the event. Please see the Official Rules and FAQs for further information)
Phase 2
Working Phase
The working phase is where participants will plan and write the book for their assigned covers, it runs from Tuesday, May 28th, to Thursday, August 1st.
The event requires a minimum of 10,000 words but does not have a maximum. Beyond the 10k, the size is up to each author.
While writing, keep in mind that all derby materials must meet the community standards of the event.
Participants are also allowed to begin marketing their books during this phase. Details on marketing can be found in Phase 4.
For more on the rules surrounding community guidelines, spending money, and marketing strategies, please see the official rules. As well, Inkfort suggests reading the Best Practices for tips on word count, as well as reader expectations regarding covers and content. Both of these documents and other information are listed at the bottom of the email.
Phase 3
Beta Readers
Beta phase begins Thursday, August 1st, and ends on Thursday, August 15th.
What is Beta Reading? A Beta reader reads a finished story and provides comments, questions, and other styles of feedback to help the author polish prior to publishing.
The Derby Beta Phase has two parts. In both parts, Inkfort acts as an intermediary for feedback, and all Beta readers (including derby authors who participate in this phase) remain anonymous.
Part One:
Inkfort Press emails a list of submitted books to their Beta Reader mailing list. The list will include the titles, short taglines, and blurb.
There is no guarantee that all books will receive feedback.
Part Two:
The second portion is an exchange exclusively between other Derby Authors. All books submitted in this portion ought to receive feedback from another participant, and each author who enters is expected to give feedback to one book.
The Inkfort Staff will compile the books entered and match them based on several factors, including, but not limited to, total word count and genre.
Part two is completely optional, but it is important to note that those who sign up and do not complete their assigned read may be locked out of the program in future events.
The feedback and questionnaires must be emailed back to Inkfort by Thursday, August 15th, at midnight. (EST)
Phase 4
Revision and Marketing phase.
The revision phase begins on Friday, August 16th.
Revision:
This phase is dedicated to revising the books based on feedback and self-edits. Participants are allowed to begin editing at any time, including during the Beta phase.
Marketing:
With the bulk of the writing finished for most participants, this is where the authors are encouraged to begin the bulk of their marketing. Authors are allowed to share details of the event as a whole on their main pages, but anything specific must be under the pen name.
There are two important rules for this portion of the event.
Each author must market under their assigned pen name.
Under no circumstances may an author use their pre-existing fanbase, family, friends, or social media during the derby. Only the author and Inkfort Staff are allowed to know who wrote each book during the event.
This also means authors can not use existing editing relationships, closed crit groups, or anything similar for the derby book. Anything used must also be accessible to a total stranger. It also means that participants should not be narrowing down the pool to those they know. No information about their individual book should be shared while not under the guise of the pen name.
Participants are not allowed to spend money on their derby projects during the event.
Authors can use the software they already own, such as:
Word processors
Formatting software
Rocket
They can not, however, spend money on things like:
Physical copies
Editing
Ads
Supplemental art
Pro-level of software
Phase 5
ARC’s
Arc submissions are due Saturday, August 31st. Arc email will be sent out on Sunday, September 1st.
What is ARC? ARC stands for Advanced Review Copy. These individuals get to read a polished copy of the book before it goes live and are often encouraged to leave a review as soon as possible.
Books that are finished and ready for launch may be submitted by the deadline. Those who do will be added to a list sent to the Inkfort Press ARC Readers list. Similar to Beta, they will see titles, taglines, and blurbs.
Phase 6
Publication
On Monday, September 23rd, all of the finished books should go live.
The following details are up to the authors, although the participants are free to ask questions and have discussions about them.
Pricing
Categories
Where to publish
Inkfort only requires that the pen name remain the only persona attached at this stage, as well as having the event mentioned in the back matter.
(The exact wording and nature of the mention will be given as that phase nears.)
The Ending
Categories of Recognition.
Sales information is due back to Inkfort by Firday, October 25th. . Please remember that each author is responsible for adhering to all local laws and tax codes for this pen name, where applicable.
There are three categories that will be given a shout-out at the end of the derby.
Copies sold.
Review score.
Community Choice.
Unfinished Books
If a book is not launched by the end of derby, the cover will revert back to Inkfort Press to be used during the next event. Participants may keep the story they wrote and find a different cover at the time they are ready to publish.

2024.05.18 19:38 johnruby Is there another Limbus Company wiki other than Fandom?

Is there another Limbus Company wiki other than Fandom?
Correct me if I'm wrong, it seems that currently the only well-established wiki is the Fandom one based on my google search result.
Frequent wiki users will know that Fandom is an absolutely awful website to visit. The layout of its pages with tons of ads is atrocious. It always autoplays ad videos, which can easily crash your browsers on PC or mobile. Many communities have decided to migrate to other wiki website (e.g. wiki.gg) or have already completed their migration, such as Fallout, Runescape, Minecraft, Satisfactory... etc.
Fandom's ads layout is highly stroke-inducing
The Fandom wiki for Limbus Company has been prominent for a while, so it would probably be difficult to establish a competitor wiki. But the content of Limbus Company is still growing in a healthy and promising pace, so maybe migration is not entirely impossible.
Is there any existing alternative wiki for Limbus Company right now? Or, is anyone currently working on an alternative wiki, such as Miraheze or MediaWiki? I'm more than happy to contribute to expanding any alternative wiki, as this may increase the possibility (even just a tiny little bit) of moving away from Fandom. I'm sure many people here are eager to help as well.
Also, I'm curious about what you guys/gals thought regarding Fandom in general. Personally I truly dislike Fandom. It's such a pain when I have to keep it open during a mirror dungeon session. But maybe it's not that bad from others' perspective?
Edit: Here's a list of existing alternatives suggested in the comment section:
  1. Project Moon wiki https://projectmoon.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page
  2. Limbus Kusoge https://limbus.kusoge.xyz/
  3. Prydwen https://www.prydwen.gg/limbus-company/
  4. BreezeWiki https://antifandom.com/limbuscompany/wiki/Limbus_Company_Wiki (BreezeWiki removes Fandom's ads and makes it clean and readable, but you cannot create or edit Fandom's wiki pages while using BreezeWiki. See its website for more details.)

2024.05.18 19:19 journey2bebe Low HCG - 2 gestational sacs but no fetal poles at 6+5.

This has been beta hell and then some. Attaching an image of my betas but basically we transferred 2 day 5 frozen embryos. We had a solid first beta but then the number hardly rose at all for the next two betas and I was told to expect an early miscarriage. Then it did start doubling more or less normally. I was told maybe the beta issue was an early vanishing twin. We had an early ultrasound at 5+4 to check for placement. First ultrasound showed one small 5mm gestational sack in the uterus. Fast forward to yesterday we had a follow up ultrasound at 6+5 and were surprised to see not one, but 2 gestational sacs. One definitely had a yolk sac and the tech was fairly certain she saw it in the other as well. No fetal poles seen. My hcg the day prior was 9200 so was probably in the range of 10,000-13,000 at the time of ultrasound. Tech didn’t seem worried and said you’re probably just earlier than you thought, but we did IVF so that’s not possible. The sacs are both measuring around 8-10mm. I have to now wait to repeat at 8weeks. But the fact that the one sac grew only at most about 5mm in 7 days and that there was no fetal poles at 6+5 and that my hcg is only around 10,000 with 2 sacs is all bad news. Is there any hope for this at all?

2024.05.18 18:42 evosandeats Traumatic CP

I am telling my story hoping it will be cathartic for me, but also as an information source because I was feeling so lost, alone, and confused during this process and could not find any similar stories.
We have been TTC for a year. We had a CP at 5 weeks in our 10th month of TTC. Testing that has been completed has all returned normal so far. My OB gave me the choice between hysterosalpingogram or hysteroscopy, laparoscopy & perhydrotubation. I am booked in for the latter in a few weeks as I initially attempted to book for hysterosalpingogram and was unsuccessful - too impatient to try again next cycle and potentially be unable to book.
My previous cycle started April 9. I have a very consistent cycle, some normal fluctuations but on average I ovulate between CD13-16 with a 13-14 day LP (cycle 26-30 days long with an average of 28 days). I had a positive OPK the evening of CD16 (April 24), with a rise starting earlier in the day. Based on my patterns when I did temp (had to stop because it was making me too obsessive), I likely ovulated overnight CD16 or morning of CD17. So AF was due roughly May 8 or 9 (CD 30/31). May 7 (~12/13 DPO) I had some cramping (I flagged it moderate in my app) and also came down with a cold (my last CP I had a terrible flu the days before my positive test). I took a HPT (FRER) in the evening of May 7 and it was negative. No sign of my period, no cramps or any other symptoms. I was mentioning to my partner that I did not feel pregnant or that my period was coming. I took another FRER on May 9 in the evening and got a vvvvfl, barely visible. Took another one the next morning (officially considering myself late) with FMU and it was still a vvvvfl, so I figured it was going to be another CP considering how light the line was at that point in my cycle. I felt completely indifferent because I knew this all likely meant late implantation.
I started CD1 later that afternoon (May 10). I had a very typical (for me) cycle. I had mild/moderate cramps for the first couple days. 2 days heavy bleeding, 2 days medium bleeding, 1 day light bleeding, 1 day brown discharge/spotting. It was a textbook cycle for me. I wanted to make sure my tests returned to negative so I took a HPT (easy@home) on the evening of May 13 (CD4) and it was vvvvfl. Of course I can't compare that to my FRERs but I thought that was good and HCG was almost out of my system. May 15 (CD6) I took another easy@home in the evening and it was considerably darker than all previous tests. May 16 (CD7) again I took a FRER and easy@home with FMU. The easy@home was just as dark as CD6 evening and the FRER test line was almost as dark as the control. I noticed it was feeling some pressure/pulling in my lower abdominal, occasional twinges but not really pain.
I thought I might be having an ectopic based on the slow progression and bleeding, but in my searches only light bleeding was reported with ectopics.
I called my GP and OB and could not get seen by either urgently so I ended up going to the ER on CD7 afternoon. I was mostly happy with the care I got, in terms of how quickly they ran tests to make sure I was okay, but they were a little bit dismissive. It didn't really help me get answers. I ended up getting 2 bedside abdominal ultrasounds by 2 different ER doctors (one did one right at triage and the other once I had been processed through to an ER bed). I got bloodwork taken in triage as well (beta HCG + a number of other general bloodwork). The 1st ultrasound the doctor couldn't see anything. The 2nd doctor mentioned something about possibly seeing a fetal pole in my uterus. They reviewed my bloodwork and said my HCG was 102 which obviously was very low at that point (5w2d). They asked if I knew my blood type, I said no and there was nothing in my chart so they sent that off too, to rule out being RH- (I am not, but why did no one check that before?). They kept saying things like "why do you think ectopic and not that you're just pregnant?" When I tried to explain the whole situation they said that the strength of lines on HPT aren't really a consideration (ok-fine) but also that bleeding in early pregnancy is normal (I'm trying to tell you had a full period-like bleeding though).
They did not have a vaginal ultrasound in the ER and since they did not suspect ectopic, I was discharged from the ER with a referral to outpatient medical imaging for a diagnostic ultrasound to be completed within 24 hours. I had no idea what was supposed to happen after that.
I got a call the next morning (May 18/CD 8) to come in for an ultrasound in a couple hours. They did another abdominal and vaginal ultrasound. Then I had to go back to the ER for results (no one told me that and I was not prepared to wait a few more hours so that was fun). A different doctor came to review my results and said they could not see anything in my uterus or tubes, but I did have a cyst on one of my ovaries (corpus luteum cyst, maybe) which they weren't concerned about. I was given a requisition for another beta hcg in a few days, and to follow-up with my GP (or come back to the ER if needed). Later that evening, I went to the bathroom and noticed I was spotting. Some time later, I was cramping very slightly and went to the bathroom again where I saw what I believe was the pregnancy with a tiny bit of blood on my underwear. It was pretty obvious that's what it was because there was so little blood obscuring it. That was pretty traumatic to see. I did not bleed much at all over night, very light spotting.
What I believe has happened is that I had a very late implantation and somehow it implanted and did not get expelled during my normal period. I knew there was no way it could have stuck after that much bleeding, it sucks that I kept being told that "bleeding is normal during early pregnancy".
This morning I took another FRER and the test line was ever so slightly darker than the control line. I won't be able to get in for that bloodwork until Tuesday because it is a long weekend here. So now I just have to wait to make sure my HCG drops and I don't have to get a D&C. What a horrible mess. Thank you for reading and I hope this helps someone.

2024.05.18 18:17 Frosty-Summer-146 Clinic don't do beta testing

TW positive test. My clinic don't do beta testing, they just ask you to do a home pregnancy test at 11dpt and then schedule an ultrasound if it's positive. So now I have a positive test, but I have no idea what my HCG levels are and have to wait 3 weeks to find out if the pregnancy is viable or not 😭 I just want an indication of whether I should allow myself to get my hopes up or not, but I'm going to be stuck in limbo for 3 weeks instead.
