Consider this a little mini-series that I'm gonna do here on Reddit for the next few days. I watched the first semi-final with my parents and my sister and I want to share their thoughts with you guys. Of course, we spoke in Swedish the entire time we watched the broadcast so some things we said might get lost in translation.
Also, has anybody noticed that Alessandra's cape got torn off mid-performance? I don't think that was intentional.
My dad thought that "He [Käärija] was an evil villain that turned into a great dancer". I'm gonna be honest and say that I like that much more than the actual song's meaning.
So far, this is what the scoreboard looks like (Excluding Sweden). I didn't ask them to rate the songs from 0-10, this is just what I think they would give the song. The order of the points is sis-dad-mom. Tiebreakers are decided by who my sister ranked the highest. Though this will probably change in the future.

1: Alessandra Mele - Queen of Kings
I think they liked this one. Big emphasis on the word "think". Mom said it was catchy and she liked the viking influences. My sister also seemed to think positively about it although it was hard to tell because she was looking at her phone during the performance. My dad, on the other hand, said that "This isn't gonna win". Both of my parents thought that her whistle notes were awry.Also, has anybody noticed that Alessandra's cape got torn off mid-performance? 2: The Busker - Dance (Our Own Party)
All three of them seemed to enjoy this a lot. Especially my mom. They liked the staging but they did say that there might have been too much happening on the stage.
3: Luke Black - Samo mi se spava
This seemed to have the complete opposite effect of what Malta did. Dad wrote it off as "weird" and my sister didn't have a huge reaction towards it. My mom even said that it was kinda creepy. My favorite part was that after the audience yelled "game over, bitch!", I was practically giggling my pants off meanwhile my sister looked at me like I had gone off the deep end.
4: Sudden Lights - Aijā
My dad said that it sounded like it came from the eighties. My mom liked the song but thought it was boring compared to the first three acts. I thought that my sister would not like it but she was actually okay with it. A pleasant surprise to me because Aijā isn't close to the type of music she listens to.
5: Mimicat - Ai coração
Nothing too special to note here. They all seemed to at the very least think it was ok. My dad noted that there was lots of red in the performance, seemingly having the same problem that some fans had with the minimal staging.
6: Wild Youth - We Are One
None of them seemed to like it. Sis thought that it was too generic and that the message was basic. My dad did not like the golden jumpsuit that Conor wore. Speaking of which, said jumpsuit caused my dad to ask if he had a cameltoe. I only just searched up what a cameltoe was, so I was sitting there thinking: "What is he talking about?"
7: Let 3 - Mama ŠČ!
It was hilarious to see them react to this. They were all low-key flabbergasted about what was going on. Surprisingly tho, they did not hate it at first listen. In fact, my parents were quite delighted by it. I also wanna mention that when Fake Lenin popped up on the screen holding his two cock-missiles, my sister said: "...What in the hell?"
8: Remo Forrer - Watergun
No strong opinions on this one either. My mom praised Remo's vocals, saying that he was one of the better performers that night.
9: Noa Kirel - Unicorn
None of them seemed interested in this. My dad called it "goofy" which was something I wasn't expecting. They weren't particularly thrilled when this qualified for the final.
10: Pasha Parfeni - Soarele și luna
Continuing from the last statement, dad said that this was "half-goofy". My mom didn't like the inclusion of the short man, stating that "We wouldn't be allowed to do that in Sweden". I was gonna refute her at first but decided to stay silent.
11: Loreen - Tattoo
I wouldn't call my relatives nationalistic and I feel like this kinda proves that. My mom thinks that the song is just Loreen wailing. While I don't agree with her, I can see what she means. My father and sister were also not invested in the song but they do think that we can get a great result with it.
12: TuralTuranX - Tell Me More
Mom and dad were more open to this one than my sister was. They liked the Beatles vibes the song had and thought that the staging was nice.
13: Vesna - My Sister's Crown
They liked the song and the performance. My mom said that it was too similar to the previous year's winner Stefania because of the folk influences and the rap parts.
14: Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper - Burning Daylight
I think this was one of my mom's favorites of the semi-final. She said that the song was good and that they performed it greatly. My sister said that it reminded her of Arcade. I should mention that she loathes that song so I don't think she liked this one either.

 | Hi guys, submitted by VergilJudgementNut to FortNiteBR [link] [comments] I really love the High Stakes Club faction in Fortnite, so I thought I'd dive into their information and what we can learn from interactions with them in game, etc. Perhaps this post could even be considered some kind of documentation of the lore, since I have not seen all of it being collected in one place anywhere else. I'll be including images and references for things I talk about where appropriate, since it keeps things interesting and backs up the statements I'm making. Obviously, if you dislike the High Stakes Club or any of its members, then this is not the post for you. First, I'll discuss their age and then their heights and builds. This is to build the clearest possible physical profiles of the characters. Then, I'll move onto discussing their personalities, habits and speech patterns, which are equally important parts of their profiles as their physicality. Perhaps moreso. I also have some ideas for where their story could be taken next in the future so stay tuned for that at the end! Firstly, I think we can safely say that the three of them are peers. It's most likely they are all in their senior year of high school, so 18 years of age. There are many reasons for this that I'll discuss in a moment. If they are in a club together and are close friends as we are led to believe, it seems quite likely that they are even classmates at school as well. There are several reasons that have led me to believe this. Sadly, we don't have as much information about Lucien as we do for Joni and Helsie, but I'll do my best to compile everything here. A lot of my references will be sourced from the Fortnite wiki. The reasons we can conclude that they are 18 years of age are as follows: Lucien - Age: 18. He has tattoos. Only 18+ people are allowed tattoos. Nothing much more to be said here. Both his arms are tattooed as well as some of his face (ouch!) Helsie - Age: 18. She works as a barista. Most places will only hire those of 18 years of age due to working with caffeine and machinery. However, some places will rarely hire 16 or 17 year olds. They're usually reluctant due to additional liabilities and paperwork, but it's technically possible, so this alone doesn't confirm that Helsie is 18. However, it is strongly suggested that she is not new to the bobarista business, as she is a "master" of the craft. One does not simply become a barista at 16 and instantly become a "master" of it, which means she at least has some time gaining experience in it. This definitely suggests she's more likely to be 18, like her peers. Helsie is a master of the boba. Helsie has also been the president of the club at some point, with Lucien supposedly being the most junior member of the club. This once again suggests a senior position within the club. Senior positions are usually held by the elders. Within Helsie's secret dialogue with other characters, a male character refers to her as a "fair maiden". This term essentially means "a young, unmarried woman who is particularly beautiful". I think it would be quite strange for Fortnite to have someone refer to her this way if she were underage. This therefore once again suggests that she is 18, as a "maiden" is a synonym for "woman". Good taste, sit knight! She certainly does seem formidable from her loading screen. Another reason we can safely say Helsie is 18 is due to the game's blatant sexualisation of her within her model and loading screens. They would not do this if they intended for her to be a minor. She has fishnets in her design, which are usually associated with sexuality. I won't post an image of her shorts since this sub does not allow NSFW imagery, but you will see as you fall from the battle bus that Helsie has a very blatant tight cameltoe as well. In the "Helsie" loading screen, her curves and figure are very much emphasised for the blatant point of sexualisation. Within her "Bobarista Helsie" loading screen, the flesh of her thigh is being squished inwards, which once again is a specific detail that artists emphasise for the sake of making the image more sexually appealing. Fortnite does these things with their characters all the time, so this is nothing unusual and therefore blends her with the rest. Fortnite does this with their loading screens all the time. In fact, all 3 of the club members are sexualised in some way. Lucien has his chiselled abs on display along with fishnets, while Joni has bits of her legs showing through her tights. For examples of this practice outside of the club, the new Highwire and Mizuki loading screens make them curvaceous as well. I want to emphasise that I have absolutely no issue with this practice - in fact, I believe it adds to the appeal of a game in a fun and tasteful way. I am just pointing it out because it further evidences the fact that Helsie is a young adult, thus making it relevant to this lore exploration post. Helsie has a very curvaceous hourglass figure here in the first loading screen, with thicc thighs that are sure to save our lives from the bloodsuckers. Nice! The second one is similar, but as you can see on the left, the band around her thigh is pushing in the flesh of her leg. This is a common detail to include when attempting to sexualise the subject of the image, and it works wonders! Beautiful. Helsie also sold shotguns to the player when on the island. It goes without saying that minors cannot go around selling firearms. Helsie packing the meta shotty of season 1. Joni - Age: 18. Most importantly for Joni, she is in a similar position to Helsie in that she holds a leadership position. Leadership positions are generally held by the more senior members of an organisation, and so since we can confirm Lucien is 18, we can therefore strongly suggest that Joni and Helsie are as well due to their leadership over him. Joni is referred to as the leader of the hunters: While Helsie has been president, Joni was the first member and is therefore the leader. Joni also sold firearms to the player. It goes without saying that minors cannot go around selling firearms. Joni packing the best rifle in Fortnite period. Change my mind. Joni has some nice tights on with many tears in them, showing that she is tough as nails, but also teasing at her skin beneath. Much like Helsie, this is once again indicative of an intention for her to be presented as a young adult. The knee pads are smart. Those tears are a great symbol of fortitude and resilience as well as a nice way to show off some skin. Slay, queen! I think I'm using that term correctly, right? No? Lol. I believe it honestly would have been enough to look at Lucien's tattoos and thus infer that all 3 members of the club are therefore 18 year olds in their senior year of high school, since they are likely peers. Helsie and Joni are the 2 members within leadership positions, and so it's more likely that they are almost identical in age, but most likely a little older than Lucien. I present additional reason for believing that they are classmates/peers later in the document. I think establishing that the club members are all young adults is important because we are trying to build the most complete profiles of these characters as possible, and ages are important for statistically profiling characters. Also, there are some ignorant folk who think "teenager" immediately means "minor", when that simply isn't the case. This fallacious thinking can be used to attack others for being attracted to characters like these. The numbers "18" and "19" do exist. People are allowed to be attracted to the fictional young adults; they aren't hurting anybody by doing so. Dang, that short downer tangent has me craving some boba tea... What was Helsie's shop called again? Ah, Bobom, right? *sips* That hit the spot. Well, now we have the age sorted we can move onto building the rest of their physical/numerical profiles! I think it is important to establish as much numerical and physical data about the members as possible to build the best profiles for them as we can. This is very difficult to do given how the game works, but I'll do my best! We already covered their ages, which is the first boring numerical part of their profiles, but we can next talk about their heights and builds. By the way, please do not be insulted if you do find these numerical things interesting - I just personally do not. However, I think they're nice to have to build more complete character profiles. As for heights, we immediately run into an issue established by game design... In Fortnite, characters often appear at differing heights when viewed alone, yet all are the same height when used in-game. It is for this reason that I believe loading screen artworks to be a more reliable source of physical information about a character. A perfect example of this is the Nezumi skin. He appears to be shorter than most other skins when viewed alone, with smaller proportions, too. To emphasise this, try switching between Helsie and Nezumi repeatedly within your locker, and you'll see that Nezumi is considerably smaller. This is likely because Nezumi is one of the youngest skins in the game. It has been stated that Nezumi is 16 on the No. 6 wiki. No. 6 is the anime that Nezumi originates from, for those unfamiliar. Since Helsie is 18, it makes sense that she would be larger and taller than he is. Of course, this height discrepancy is simply from Fortnite's model sizes, so it means very little. Nezumi's official anime wiki states his height for the anime, but I do not think that applies here. If it does, then Helsie might just be some kind of 6'+ Helsie appears to be around average height for a woman by looking at her proportionally in isolation. She leans backwards, which makes her appear shorter than she actually is. She's likely 5' 4\" or 5' 5\". Her dress mostly covers up her bust and her idle leaning animation makes it appear smaller, but upon closer inspection she is quite surprisingly sizable around there. View from above or from the side while emoting to see what I'm talking about. Not only is it nice, but it's for character science! Nezumi, when viewed in isolation comparatively, appears considerably smaller than Helsie and other characters in almost every respect. This would make sense considering that he is 2 years her junior. But, this is just for his Fortnite model. His anime wiki tells a different story since it lists him as being quite tall. When you use almost any skin in the game in an actual match with other players, you'll see that Nezumi is suddenly scaled up to be the same height as everybody else. Characters such as Master Chief, Hulk and Kratos are massively taller than most people, yet are almost exactly the same height as everyone else when in the game. This is simply for the sake of game mechanics and making the game fair, and therefore any height scaling shenanigans mean nothing. It is best to judge their heights from loading screens and individual locker proportional model viewings. As for Lucien, we can have an easier time of things due to his more basic A-pose. Sadly, I don't yet own Lucien since I couldn't afford his bundle at the times it's been in the shop. I'll get him next time he rolls around for sure! (Please bring him back...) This does mean, however, that I'll be unable to use my own locker to observe his height either in isolation or comparatively, so I'm sorry about that. I will, however, use his model as it is displayed on Fortnite.gg. Lucien has a somewhat muscular build with proportions that suggest he is of average height for an adult male such as he. Likely at least 5' 8\", but potentially 5' 10\"+. He also has some beautifully chiselled abs that I could probably sharpen a knife on! I can see why people dig this beefcake of a man. Within the loading screens, Lucien appears to be more muscular than he is in his model, which I would say is a better indicator of his intended lore design. For Joni, I regretfully have another confession to make... I also do not have her in my locker! I know, I still cry about it daily, but there is little to be done about it other than to wait and hope they bring her Crew pack back in the future. The fine print of the Fortnite Crew does state that packs can return for Crew members in future, so I'll keep my fingers crossed. :( This does once again mean that I cannot view her from my in-game locker. So I'll have to resort to the Fortnite.gg viewer again. Joni appears to be extremely similar to Helsie's height and body type, with some small differences. Joni appears to potentially be the same height as Helsie, or potentially slightly shorter, since Helsie leans back in her model and thus appears shorter than she actually is. So, I'll mark Joni's height as around 5' 4\". Her bust appears to be smaller than Helsie's, with a similarly skinny build in her model. It's worth noting that Joni is not as thicc and curvaceous as Helsie is in their loading screens, so I think it's safe to say that Joni is intended to be slightly shorter and skinnier than Helsie. Her bust does still appear to be smaller than Helsie's in the loading screens, much like in their in-game models. Within the Crew pack loading screen (that I don't have! *breaks a moderately expensive vase*) we can get an idea for their heights in comparison. Joni is closer to the camera here, but if she were to step back she'd be extremely similar to Helsie in terms of height. From what we can see, Helsie retains her more curvaceous figure when compared to Joni. Our view of Joni is somewhat obscured, however. Lucien looks as buff and toned as ever, being a few inches taller than the 2 women, as is expected of a male. Final physical profiles: Joni: Age - 18 Height - 5' 4" Build - Skinny with small bust and proportionally long legs. Helsie: Age - 18 Height - 5' 4" or 5' 5" Build - Less skinny than Joni with a larger bust and proportionally shorter legs. Lucien: Age - 18 Height - 5' 8" - 5' 10" Build - Tall, proportionally average yet muscular build with toned abs. Anyway, with the boring stuff about their ages/heights/weights out of the way, we can get to the more interesting stuff! I wish this section could be extremely long, but sadly we are so starved of lore for these guys that I won't have an awful lot of concrete things to talk about. It's worth talking about their names really quickly, as there are some interesting things to take from their inspirations. They are all named after characters from the famous story "Dracula". Joni's name is inspired by the character Jonathan Harker, Helsie's name is inspired by the character Abraham Van Helsing and Lucien's name is inspired by the character Lucy Westenra. The most notable of these is Lucien's inspiration, as Lucy in the story turns into a vampire. This could suggest either that Lucien is already a vampire and waiting to strike, or perhaps that he has a grisly fate awaiting him. It's possible, but nothing we can say for sure. It's most likely that it is simply a name inspiration homage and nothing more. I mentioned that I believe they may be classmates. I believe this to be the case since the game makes clear that they are very close friends; close enough that they worry for each others' lives and trust each other with their own. For example, Helsie expresses concern that Lucien went out on a solo hunt and took longer than usual to return. Typically, the closest friends within a high school environment are nurtured through peership, that being belonging to the same class and/or year group. It would be very unlikely for them to be this close without having shared class time with each other. Lucien's lore states that he considered the women his family, suggesting that they have likely grown up together throughout all their school years. This once again suggests peership or even classmateship. We know that Joni was held up at the bowling alley following her fight in the Crew pack trailer. It is here that we can glean some interesting things about her personality and character, which is honestly what I'm most interested in with the club members. It only makes sense to start with Joni since she was the first. In most of her interactions with the player, Joni is very straightforward and to the point with us. I'll include some notable interactions and any important characteristics I take from them in the captions. It appears Joni has some trust issues, as demonstrated by the first 2 lines. It makes me wonder what the reason for this is. It appears she is the type to keep her friends close and under her wing. She has an absolutist philosophy, as demonstrated in her line to the Witcher, likely caused by past trauma/experience. This is a no-brainer considering she decided to begin the club. She also appears to command an aura of respect and power. She's very much a natural leader. It seems very likely that Joni experienced trauma with vampires earlier in her life. Perhaps vampires killed somebody she was close to or a member of her family. We don't know for sure, but I feel fairly positive that something like this is the cause for her hatred of vampires. Next let's talk about Helsie's personality. She is certainly distinct from Joni; however, something about her is a little more mysterious. While Joni is very much a "what you see is what you get" kind of person, Helsie appears to have more to her than meets the eye. Helsie is more dangerous than she looks, and she already has a delightfully wicked smile. This strongly suggests she's like the club's wild card they bring out when things get really tough. It is at this point that I would like to address the elephant in the room. That is, that people have speculated that Helsie might be a vampire in disguise working from the inside of the club. An imposter, if you will. I can absolutely see why this theory has come about, considering her lobby facial expressions which, while very alluring and sensual, do have a devious note to them. Note that this applies to her new face in the lobby after she received a facelift. Her old face was just uncanny to me. Anyway, this could suggest that she is either in some way unhinged and waiting to snap, or is hiding something, with that thing being her being a vampire. I personally do not believe this theory, as there is little evidence to back it up. Chances are she is neither unhinged nor an imposter, and instead just really loves killing vampires, to the point that she experiences a kind of bloodlust in battle that makes her dangerous. It's likely her lobby faces are just her cheeky personality. Perhaps she is just flirtatious as opposed to unhinged? That's honestly how it comes off to me, but we can only speculate. Perhaps Helsie is being teasing here in the first speech? She might naturally enjoy keeping others on edge. It's a stretch, but it could potentially be interpreted here that she is being mocking since she herself is one of said creatures. I find this to be extremely unlikely, though, as we see her in broad daylight plenty. This second line encapsulates Helsie's personality excellently. She's bubbly, cheeky and yet experienced in being professional in offering assistance. This is likely from her time as a bobarista. It is lines such as the first one that makes me think Helsie is simply wrapped up in her own bubble of finding fun in exterminating vampires. It also shows us that she is very dedicated to her causes, thinking of ways to expand and progress. It's very likely she does well as a bobarista too. The second line shows us that Helsie is clearly caring and concerned for her friends. This once again strengthens the idea that these 3 are peers, and thus very close friends who have spent class time together. It seems that Helsie is a specialist who dedicates herself to whatever she puts her mind to and thus thrives. She has a cheeky, yet not mean-spirited streak and is loyal to her friends whilst remaining respectful to customers and strangers. She is dangerous because of her specialism and dedication to something as brutal as vampire hunting. As for Lucien, we have less information. The mention of \"chosen family\" is interesting here. Perhaps he has no family of his own and instead considers Helsie and Joni as being like his sisters? This once again supports the idea that they are peers, as they have likely grown up together throughout their school days. This description also suggests that he is hopeful, has large plans and is very loyal to his friends. Joni has a line about him that is interesting as well. This speech strongly suggests that Lucien is very tough, and yet reserved. It appears he did not tell the others what horrors he fought on his solo hunt. This very much fits with the protector mentality. I find this description interesting... The idea that his home is his friends further supports the idea that he has no family of his own and considers the women to be his sisters. I wonder what his dream is...? We don't know as much about Lucien, but we can gather that he is protective, strong yet reserved and has no family ties through blood. Like the others, he appears loyal to a fault. Perhaps his long hunt could call this into doubt? We can't yet know. Final Personality Profiles: Joni: Motivated, Strong, Skilled, Loyal, Scarred, Transparent Helsie: Cheeky, Dedicated, Specialist, Polite, Wild Card Lucien: Protective, Strong, Loyal, Reserved, Dreamer I'm honestly not at all surprised that people appraciate and sometimes even simp for these 3 characters so much. If you do simp, then you keep doing you. Don't let ignorant people put you down for it; at the end of the day, it's just a video game. The club members are hip, they're hot, they're attractive, they're badass. It's blatantly obvious they were intentionally designed this way. I'd love to see more of them from the game in future! Speaking of which... It's speculation time! In this section of the lore document, I will be briefly exploring where I think they could expand the club's lore in the future, as well as giving some ideas of my own. I'd be delighted to see people discussing these ideas in the comments, and even suggesting some of your own. Let's have fun with it! It seems likely that perhaps they will be expanding the lore to explore the subject of Helsie's dress or address Joni's apparent rivalry at the bowling alley in her trailer. I would place my bets on either of these 2, personally. I think that perhaps bringing in some kind of vampiric boss character could be so much fun to have the club tackle. Perhaps some kind of event featuring a boss battle and the club's struggles to overcome the foe. It could even have some thematic relevance in that it's their last hunt of high school before their graduation, and thus is acting as a sort of parallel final exam for them. They overcame the ultimate beast, just as they overcame high school. For them, the final battles from both halves of their lives overlap for a crescendo story arc resolution phase. After this, perhaps there could be future reskins of the 3 members, in which they are now college folk. They graduated high school, but could not let go of their club, as it is what ties them together as a "family". They therefore continue the high stakes club into the next chapter of their lives in college (since colleges/universities also allow clubs), bringing with it more challenges and dangerous foes to battle. This is development I would LOVE to see in the future for the High Stakes Club. I hope you guys enjoyed my ideas and please do let me know if/how you'd expand on them. I do hope people find this document to be a helpful reference overall. I have tried to be as fair as possible and collect as much information as I possibly could.
