I have zero experience with 3D printers. If I can find a maker space, library, etc. with a 3D printer accessible to the public, how hard would it be to print the above design? Is it literally a matter of loading up some software, choosing File->Print, and then browsing to the file above, or is there a learning curve? Do I need to know what material the design above was made from and then ensure the machine I'm working with has the same material available before starting (assuming I want the same strength of part)?
I'm just trying to decide if it would be better to learn how to print this myself using a publicaly accessible 3D printer vs. just buying the manufactured part on ebay.

Nintendo does this a lot, where they’ll take a popular franchise like Mario and translate it to a new medium. You end up with games like Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, or, more relevant, Paper Mario.
The latter case especially is interesting to me. Mario is suddenly made of paper. They use this in references in the game, like the “origami king,” but what if they never addressed it? Would that be strange or take away from the game experience?
Basically, I’m just wondering how far you can go with a concept or “medium” before needing to give an in-game reason for why things are that way. I was considering doing a board game aesthetic for my game, but it doesn’t really relate to the gameplay. Would it bother players if I never explained it?

Hello, My mum is going to make me homeless if I can’t afford to pay her rent (I’m 22) obviously I know I have to pay my way, but I have such bad anxiety it’s preventing me from getting or maintaining a job. I currently receive a benefit in which I use to pay my mum rent. However, today I found out I may be forced into work or I’ll loose this. If this happens I won’t not what to do, I’m going back to the doctors about this but they seem to dismiss my issues and say I’m too young for medication and I’ll just ‘grow out of it’ I know my mum isn’t responsible for me anymore but she doesn’t understand that this isn’t me choosing to be anxious :( I also have bad insomnia and a condition where I’m sick most of the time. I am so scared as I’ll have nowhere to go, I have no friends at all, not even exaggerating and no other family members to help as we never knew them growing up. I don’t think the government can do much as I’m not pregnant or under 18. I’m so scared and I’m have a severe breakdown today, I can’t eat or anything. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you x

I just saw a tiktok about how doctors don't tell women about using forceps when putting in an IUD. My brain immediately thought "wait, what do you mean forceps? I was never told that when I got my IUD, that has to be fake!"
I jumped on Google and low and behold, I found this really detailed video about the procedure. Not only do they use a tenaculum to hold the cervix in place, they then insert a rode to measure the length of the uterus, and finally insert the IUD.
Now, I don't doubt that all those steps are necessary- but why in hell was I not told about it when I had mine put in? The nurse dumbed it down to "we'll put in a speculum and then the IUD goes in" and I didn't know any better, I had no reason to question her explanation. If she'd told me all the steps, I definitely would have asked for pain relief, which it's already outrageous that it's not part of the procedure.
The procedure itself was painful, but the worst was the intense pain in the following hours, I ended up going to A&E as it was so much more painful than what the nurse had hinted at.
Now discovering what my poor cervix went through, I feel violated. I feel like I was lied to, presented with a straightforward, limitedly invasive procedure, when in reality my cervix was pinched and manoeuvred without any offer of pain relief. How is the state of women's healthcare this atrocious in 2024?

It seems that Alaska is stepping up its algorithm to cancel duplicate flight bookings.
I had two bookings - one for Thu and another for Fri and I didn't know which I needed yet, and I find out one was canceled without any choice of which one.

We have identified duplicate bookings which create “illogical itineraries”. This means that the multiple bookings would be impossible to use as intended. As we don’t want to limit seats for those who wish to travel, we have canceled your booking.

I'm MVP 100k, and one of the features of that program is free changes, which I thought was meant to provide exactly this kind of flexibility.
The flights are always full so the idea I'm "limiting seats" makes no sense.
Anyone else seeing increased cancellation of duplicate bookings?

I work on miniature mechanical precision gears for decades. I've been reading lurking for a while but need a repair professional opinion.
First I bought a time Grapher to monitor my mechanical watch collection. I found my corum bubble was at about+620 seconds per day. The line was straight, no waviness.
Take to repair shop A, I get it back a month later, and I had trouble getting repeatability but around +120 sec per day.
I take to a so called Rolex repair shop B. He has a stand alone time Grapher. I see it takes less than a minute to see the watch is very bad. 290 dollar service charge. Ok, because I don't have broken watches on to practice yet.
Pick up 2 weeks later. I'm the only customer in the store. I ask him to see it on time Grapher because I had issues before. He refuses, yells at me and says he has no time. He says he removed metal shavings inside and it's good now.
From what I've read here, I feel that means a part need to be replaced.
Even if it time graphs good, should I take it to a 3rd shop? I wear this watch a lot in the summer and I like it even though I'm already near 50 percent the cost of a used one now

Hi all,
I have a drain that goes from my front courtyard area all the way about 80' to my backyard out under a wall. The drain was clogged once before but I was able to get a hold of the root at the end of the run and yank it out. This time I think the root is an intrusion somewhere mid-run, which I can't really get to physically without breaking up concrete.
I called a company to have a look and they thought they MIGHT be able to clear it by Hydro-Jetting for $750. They'll also will do a camera scope to get an idea of the health of the pipe. The thing that I worry about with this is the "might" as I really don't like the idea of throwing $750 down the literal drain.
So I was thinking I'd try DIY solution. I cannot pull the root out, I've tried as I can only get to the end, not where it enters. So it's still attached to a tree somewhere. I did by a kit to do my own "hydro jetting" but my power washer taps out at 2300PSI, which is apparently not enough to shred the roots. Not sure how much pressure I would need. I was wondering besides trying that with maybe a rental washer, is there any other tool or jimmy-rig that anyone else has used to clear such a clog?

This simple break is so avoidable. Plastic cracks, plastic under strain is bad. Plastic is not exactly fit for purpose BUT it is cheap and super duper easy to fab into shape... sigh.
I may make a new lever out of STEEL. Watch this space.

Does anyone ever use the orders for morning and evening prayer in the Hymnal?
I use it sometimes if I want to spice up my daily prayer routines (I alternate between the UMH, the BCP 1979, and Evangelical Lutheran Worship), but I was wondering if anyone else uses it.

I'm currently developing an idea for a game that has two major layers: a space shoot em up layer and a strategy layer.
In the strategy layer the player can harvest/mine raw resources, move them around by managing supply chains, craft intermediate products from recipes, and assemble major spaceship components into a completed drone that launches the shooter layer.
In the shmup layer the player plays a classic top down shoot em up with waves of progressively harder enemies. The player can loot the enemies and other rare resources but has limited inventory available and faces a risk/reward analysis for when to send the loot home and write off the expendable drone before it is destroyed by enemies that are too strong for the player.
As a solo indie dev I have some concerns with scope but I really like the idea of enabling the player to manage the pacing and excitement of the game by building and using the expendable spaceships in spurts of action. My major concern is developing the strategy layer to be an interesting and engaging experience. My main inspirations for it are Factorio and the Anno series which I have found to be amazing in terms of supply chain management but I'm hesitant to copy them too closely and have been hung up on trying to inject some originality into the design.
So my question is, what are some ideas for a supply chain management mechanic that captures the wonderful complexity of the double-sided belts, robotic arms, and train systems in Factorio and/or the exercise in spatial reasoning the Anno series brings to the table. Any tips, tricks, or feedback would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

We are about to see what's going to happen in the next chapter and I couldn't be more anxious.
Gojo and Yuji are my favorite charac ters in the series and I think I can provide in this post arguments about why Gojo is coming back.
As you already know, the story presented 3 protagonists, each one with more narrative development (Yuta, Gojo, Yuji). But we also know that at the end of the day, Yuji is the one who takes the crown as the true protagonist because he is always the one who has iconic and highly relevant fights. Mahito and Sukuna (the two great villains of the series) are Yuji's fundamental enemies.
Now, Gojo returning to the scene does not destroy Yuji's reputation as a protagonist at all. In fact, just as the villains have Sukuna as their most powerful weapon (Divine Flame...), the good guys have Gojo (Purple). And if the Merger turns out to be something or someone absolutely powerful, what better than Purple or UV to defeat it?
Gojo can come back in many ways (even a combination of them): Shoko uses a Binding Vow to heal him, Utahime helps with her CT, Gojo uses a Binding Vow to revive, something to do with the Soul, etc etc etc. In fact, it wouldn't be strange if at the end of the day, it was Yuji who ended up absorbing the Merger and had to ask his sensei to kill him to end everything once and for all (teamwork effort). So I don't think it's wrong to bring Gojo back; it does not present narrative destruction at all and it complies with Gege's interview where he says that 1 survives and 3 die (very tragic ending but you have to remember that Gege is Isayama's friend).
Speaking of that author, AOT has an ending where the strongest soldier survives with one less eye and lives in a time free of titans. I don't want to force too much but: who is the strongest sorcerer? Who can lose an eye? Who said that the way to save humanity is to eradicate CE from the world? (Yuki)

Liabilities in current roles (i.e. not good enough) so ideally moved this window:

• Harry Maguire. Great chap. But he cannot play a high line due to poor mobility, and is a liability on the build. Being paid too much to be a bench player.
  
• Raphael Varane. Lacks competitive fire. Whines about too many matches (yes he is right), and when he's not paired with a stud like Martinez he is hit and miss.
  
• Jonny Evans. As with Harry a top class person but simply a liability in how this club wants to play. You cannot press high with him on the pitch.
  
• Sofyan Amrabat. Liability in speed, ball control, passing, etc. Would not be a bad depth option but Utd can probably fill that and also find some upside.
  
• Donny Van De Beek. Linkup and possession option for a lower level club.
  
• Anthony Martial. Not healthy enough and even on rare occasions he is healthy he is hit and miss.
  
• Jadon Sancho. Similar to Donny he is miscast with Utd. Needs to go to a second tier club who like to possess so his linkup skills can shine.
  
• Mason Greenwood. I have gone back and forth on this player. I would be fine with keeping him as a development option but that ship has probably sailed. Time to cut bait and get what you can I suppose.
  

Good enough for current role but may be sold this window or next:

• Christian Eriksen. Quality offensive boost off the bench but was hurt by a back line that required gap to avoid being overrun. For that role he won't be happy, and the club is better served by a defensive sub, though if he sticks around I am fine with it.
  
• Luke Shaw. Pains me to put him here but it is what it is. Class player but not healthy enough.
  
• Scott McTominay. Natural striker who was shoehorned into midfield. He has the timing in the box you cannot teach, the instincts for where to position for rebounds and feeds. Lacks some of the ball handling agility, so for that reason is a depth striker ideally. Problem is Utd will probably be able to sell him for more than what they'd get from him off the bench.
  
• Marcus Rashford. Doesn't do the work on the pitch. Seems like a confidence player who lacks confidence far too often. Likely he will net the club more than continuing to hope he can put it together.
  
• Antony. Obviously the club overpaid for him. That is not his fault. The guy had off field issues that submarined his second season, but you can see he has some quality. Also his first year he did some good things. So I would keep him for now because there are other players above I would prioritize moving first.
  
• Casemiro. He really dropped off quickly from last season to this one. Almost put him in the list above in fact. But I put him here because he is flexible, mentally tough and resilient, and gives this roster experience even if he is overpaid for a bench role. They simply won't be able to move everyone this season. So he's a player who does have some positives and might help us if we upgrade those above.
  

Core players for the future:

• Andre Onana. This guy is quality. He took a while to settle in but long term I think we have the right keeper.
  
• Lisandro Martinez. Needs a top pairing partner, but he is the type of player who will be in line for league accolades if he can stay healthy. Fantastic addition and a heart and soul player.
  
• Diogo Dalo. I remain an enormous fan of his. He gets a lot of stick but this is the type of core player you want, the one who will work his ass off to constantly improve. RB is good due to him, and I like AWB as a matchup role player behind him.
  
• Bruno Fernandez. I think I would play Bruno at DM next season. He is high energy on defense and covers a ton of ground, is capable of line breaking passes from depth, and playing deep limits the liability of his tendency to turn the ball over. World class without a doubt in spite of that, but with a top CB pairing behind him I think he'd be excellent in a DM role.
  
• Kobbie Mainoo. Deep lying playmaker type role for him is ideal right now, and putting him in a holding role next to Bruno would give us two solid defenders with hustle and two line breaking passers. Let him run the build, use the both of them to take shots downfield when appropriate, and watch them settle in together.
  
• Rasmus Hojlund. Felt he was a very shrewd signing last window instead of throwing money at Kane because building for the future felt right. Continuing to add young players with high talent and the right mindset should be our approach. Hojlund I think is going to be an epic and long term stud for us.
  
• Alejandro Garnacho. Can't say enough about this kid. He's not a huge raw talent, isn't rare in speed or ball handling or even his strike but you cannot measure heart. I'd add competition for him via replacements in that first group and hope he continues to develop. And I hope he's in red for a long time.
  

A look ahead:
There are some young players outside of those mentioned above who are potentially capable of helping us, or emerging next season. Not going to list them simply because I don't want to count my chickens with them in terms of planning or guessing the offseason moves. If they continue to develop great. If not no worries, the plan is in place. If you read this far thanks for sticking with it. I didn't intent to get this wordy but this was a therapeutic outporing of words in a lot of ways for me and I welcome those counter takes.

Hello Gentle Reader!
I’ve been through some big changes in the last few years. I changed jobs, ended a longterm relationship, left my home and ended up in a new city.
For some people, that might seem like a good thing, a new beginning… but to be honest, I’ve been struggling with the changes. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been able to experience some awesome things like going on a helicopter ride with the doors opened, sleeping in a tent when it’s -25C outside, repelling down a 60 feet tower! Being in the military has its perks!
I enjoy my job, but when I get home… it’s empty and lonely.
I used to paint with watercolours, write stories, run, take pictures. But after having someone to share these things with for so long… I now struggle to find the motivation to do them alone. I still try. I took pottery lessons last fall and this weekend, I planted a few things in my garden: tomatoes, strawberries, squash, peas, green beans and a bunch of herbs! I love cooking and I am trying to eat healthier, hence the veggie garden.
But I want to feel alive again and not just waiting for the time to pass.

• I want to get in better shape, for my job and for my health. Can you kick my butt out of bed for my morning workout/run?
• I want to paint again and share it with someone, a bit of warning though, I’m a scientist, not an artist!
• I want to write again and evict the characters that have been living in my head rent free for far too long. I have a Stargate script I wrote in high school... Please don't make me share that...

So, if you have a bit of motivation to share, don’t mind a bit of humour or would like to know how I went from being a geologist, to being a teacher and ended up joining the military, please reach out, I swear I don’t bite!

For reference, I'm lvl 98 galactic commander and I've played at least 100 games with the spear against the automatons, and a couple of times against the bugs.
The spear is supposed to be an anti-tank weapon that can lock on to distant enemies. Not that complicated in terms of design, yet it fails to do either consistently.
We are all aware that the lock on is jank, which already makes it frustrating. But even when it does lock on and you manage to fire the missile before it forgets its target, this does not gurantee the target dies.
I cannot stress how bad it feels to finally get the missile to launch, watch it fly towards it's target, and either miss completely (gunships) or watch it collide with a tank, and it just calmly turns around as if all I did was knock on the door. So I load another round, watch it make contact with the same tank a second time, and IT'S STILL ALIVE. WTF? I can only carry THREE missiles on my back. You're telling me I need ALL THREE to kill ONE TANK? It's an anti-TANK missile. You can't look me in the eye with a straight face and tell me this apple doesn't taste like bacon.
I've even watched the missile collide with fabricators and not kill them. I've tried repositioning so the missile will hit the top half of the fab, and I watch the missile collide again doing nothing. If the third doesn't blow it up, I straight up log off. I usually pair the spear with the shield relay and 2 sentries, and I can't blow up the fab with stun grenades so I'm just stuck there waiting for someone else to blow it up or call in supplies/new spear just to waste 3 more rockets and not blow it up. (While I'm thinking about it, why can't the autocannon sentry blow up fabs? Or hell, why not the mortar? Honestly seems like a bug to me seeing as they will both waste all their ammo trying to blow up fabs, and they both work for bug holes)
It just feels like a slap in the face that the highest level anti-tank weapon can't even kill a tank without using all the ammo on your back. The auto-cannon can kill a tank from behind in like, what, 3-5 shots? Leaving over 90% of it's ammo supply still available for engagements? If the auto cannon is the king of balance for support weapons, then they have to make the spear more consistent so you don't blow through all your ammo on one heavy/fab.
Factory striders and bile titans I understand not being one shots. (However, I don't understand why the spear one shots Bile Titans to the face while EAT and recoiless do not - face contains brain, you hit face with rocket = brain dead. That's how it should work) Regardless, I have seen the spear one-shot tanks, and I think this only happens when the missile comes down from above making contact with the TOP of the cannon. If it hits the side of the cannon, you're SOL. I swear I've even watched it make contact with the heat-sink and it didn't explode.
I'm not sure how to properly fix this. If you change the Spear trajectory, it might not be able to properly target a Bile Titans face anymore. And if you nerf the parts on the tank, you might end up with certain weapons being able to kill tanks when they shouldn't.
IMO, they should buff the damage on all of the anti tank launchers. Make it so spear can two-shot titans in the same spot, one-shot tanks without hitting weakspot, and so EAT and recoiless can one-shot titans to the face. This would not only improve the spears inconsistency with tanks and bile titans by decreasing the minimum amount of shots to kill, but also make more variable loadouts useful against the bugs because you won't feel as forced into taking anti-titan eagles/orbitals if someone on your team brings an AT-launcher. Titans are too tanky anyways. There's no reason they should be able to tank over 6-7 rockets, that's just absurd and drags out encounters when you don't have strategems available. Bile titans should never take more than 4 shots from EAT/recoiless and no more than 2 from spear in the same spot. Anything more just feels unreasonable. Same goes for spewers, like why tf does a rocket launcher not one-shot the super bloated bug filled with liquid when a tiny grenade does?
Fabricators could probably be fixed pretty easily by using the same durable part value for the entire structure, instead of having weird pockets with higher armor that prevent the spear missile from doing any damage. And for the love of liberty, either let the sentries blow up fabs, or remove fabs from the sentry targeting list. They don't appear to be armored and they contain delicate manufacuring equipment so just let the sentries blow them up.
I can't shake the feeling that when they finally release the spear fix, it's just going to be a targeting consistency improvement, which is very welcome, but I'm really hoping they go the extra mile and make this thing the beast it deserves to be. Remove striders and shriekers from the target list and change the poi pickups to replenish 2 missiles. That alone will make the spear feel much better. Also, I don't think the spear should ever miss gunships. Gunships fly through the air extremely slow, even after the movement buff. If the spear missile flies past it should always try to circle back and correct itself.
I hope the super earth engineer who designed the spear missiles/targeting system is being properly reeducated

I’m so lost and could use some ideas.
My girl is a 16 y/o yorkie mix. She used to sleep most of the time but recently she had dental surgery and she was clearly in pain, she’s since recovered and has much more energy which is great, problem is I don’t know what to do for her with this extra energy. We go on longer walks, she gets to wander in the yard and sniff around, her dinner is always given in a lick mat and she has a few snuffle toys to keep her occupied. She’s very food motivated to the point she’ll just eat until she throws up. So I don’t know what more I can do for her since it seems to be a delicate balance between things to play with and occupy herself and not making her sick. We unfortunately can’t do chewing toys because she has all of 2 teeth left. She’s also got cataracts in both eyes so she can’t see either making some toys and activities difficult.
Additionally, about a week ago she woke up with a UTI, blood in the urine and squatting all day with only a drop or two coming out. Vet started her on an antibiotic for that and we have about 3 or 4 days left. I’m not sure what else could be going on? She doesn’t seem to be agitated or in distress, if anything she just seems bored or hungry? Even though she’s eaten and has had plenty of activity.
I’m starting to lose my mind over here trying to figure out what’s going on 😭

I am adding cat6a in my house and terminating them at a patch panel mounted to a side wall in my guest closet.
I’m looking for the best way to route 20+ cables into the closet.
Initially I thought I’d just run them in the wall and out of a hole (covered with a wall plate of sorts). Then I realized my top plate would look like Swiss cheese.
Then I considered moving the equipment up top and dropping the wiring directly through the ceiling. Then I had to wonder if having a mostly open hole from my closet to my attic is a bad idea.
What’s the right way to do this?
Edit: I’ll probably start with 8 drops and add more as time goes. I could see myself ending up with 20+ drops.
