2024.04.19 18:29 pspsps-33 using frozen fat vs fresh fat for fat transfer?

hi, a clinic recommended to freeze my fat for my second round of grafting three months after the first round (using fresh fat, aka ft + lipo first round, ft only second round) i read some mixed reviews regarding frozen autologous fat. mainly that it does not retain well and that necrosis/bumps are more prone to form as compared to fresh fat. what are your thoughts or experience if you’ve used frozen fat for ft? tia.

2024.04.16 02:10 elmargot99 Mid life crisis? Hormones? What is happening to me

I am 42f. Just seeing if anyone else is experiencing similar issues. I seem to have a different mood from day to day. Sometimes I'm teary. Sometimes I'm angry. Sometimes I'm happy and frisky. I know this is probably nothing new being a woman. Over the years I've certainly had PMS symptoms here and there. But now it doesn't seem to be just one week in the month. It's just all over the place. Maybe its peri-menopause, I don't know.
The other part of this is I'm having trouble accepting that I'm getting old. I've always been fairly attractive. In my 20s and 30s I would get looks from men, if i was at a bar I'd have at least a couple guys try to hit on me. Now I just feel invisible. Not that i want to be harrassed, but i just notice no one is looking at me anymore or interested in me. My partner of 5 years says, in response to me feeling insecure "you are sexy/ you are attractive" etc etc but it always feels forced and it's never coming out of his mouth unprompted. It feels a bit disingenuous. Maybe because it's always just a broad statement, there's never really any detail or offerings of compliments. And my heart hurts knowing that if I looked like a sexy 25 year old I would get comments. I made a snap decision to get filler in my face yesterday and later in the evening I burst into tears thinking about my reasons.my confidence is all over the place. In the past I never cared about partners looking at porn or internet models etc but recently I've discovered a couple sexy model accounts on my partners Facebook page (the real fake ones that post reels of them being sexy to try to get them to sign up to their only fans pages). Now, my bf isn't on only fans, but he's chosen to follow a couple of these women and his reasoning is "so I'm not allowed to look at pretty women occasionally? It doesnt affect how I feel about you?" Logically I can understand this. But emotionally I can't seem to take it these days. I just find myself comparing myself. I look at them, they look to be 25-30, fake boobs, tiny waists, nose jobs, hair extensions, air brushed faces. Obviously apending thousands of dollars to maintain this look. I'm going down a rabbit hole where everything just feels impossible, if that's what he's attracted to. He says I'm putting way too much thought into it. And says he hardly looks or barely realised he follows them. The disappointing thing here is that men don't even realise what it takes to look like that, its so unrealistic. I could probably look something like that if I got myself a facelift, a boob job , some lipo, fat freezing, lip filler, nose job, hair extensions, nails, fake eyelashes, airbrushed make up. Etc . But if I spent thousands of dollars on myself it would make him angry. I just feel like im stuck. And I dont understand the male mentality of thinking it's OK to follow and ogle women half their partners age? Sometimes I catch myself in the mirror and just feel so depressed about myself.
It even feels like im invisible at work. Young people around me are getting promotions and I haven't had a payrise in years. I try and look for other jobs and it feels as though I'm either too experienced or not up to date enough in the digital marketing world. I can feel my self worth slipping.
How can I get more comfortable with this ageing process? Why can't I just be happy and embrace it? Why do I have to relate my worth to my youth? Why can't I just accept I'm middle aged and nothing special?

2024.02.11 04:45 Punctual_and_perky Log - 3 dpo

The plus: “Look at those 18 year old titties” my husband to me as he bathed me today.
The flat tummy I’ve never once had since I was 22 years old.
The hope that clothes will be easier. That I’ll be able to just get bras and pants off racks and not need to worry about looking lopsided.
That I’m swollen as all hell, but still 5 lbs lighter than I was on surgery day.
My mind is clear now. Still dizzy and headache is hanging on but I’m not confused and am starting to have recall again. 6.5 hours of anesthesia took a minute to clear.
The nitty gritty:
Officially showered today. 0/10. do not recommend. My hair is clean, thanks to my husband. My body got wet. That’s all.
I have a lipo spot on my back that might be verging on infected? It burns badly when he hits it with the peroxide solution and it’s redder than my other sites.
Drains are officially in a fanny pack I carry instead of wearing. Not sure if it’s easier but I’ve convinced myself it is better than attaching and detaching from my binder.
Speaking of drains. Over them. The tubing, the measuring, the adjusting, the pulling. They really suck and are super ugly and the tubes are so goopy inside. No.
I’ve had a tickle in my throat all day just begging to be coughed. I can not seem to clear it no matter how much water or how many lozenges I consume.
I’m mentally and emotionally waning. Chair to bathroom, lap through the main floor, back to chair. Every hour. Obsess over clot and dvt risk, over fat transfer failure, over necrosis. Can’t sleep. Can’t read or focus on tv. I’m so bored and so lonely despite being surrounded by family. I feel very strange, being here but not really being part of the hum of life in our house.
My dogs are out of sorts. We have two that desperately need to be exercised every day and two that desperately need a lap to sleep on daily, so I can’t meet any of their needs. They have lots and lots of land to romp but it’s mating season around these parts so they can’t be out without one of us, or they may become a romantic dinner for two lusty coyotes.
I’m wicked hot unless I’m freezing.
The pain has changed. It’s not worse, but also not better per se. There’s zings of sensation that I did not expect in my nipple and belly button areas. There’s so much tightness! My “abs” are so sore. I’m only 2 doses from being out of Celebrex and nervous to just be on Tylenol.
My kids are very sweet and attentive but VERY bored. Their energy mixed with my misery and hubbys overfilled plate have put a sense of imbalance on our household.
I don’t know if this log is still helpful but I’m gonna normalize the act of embracing the suck. Yes, I chose this. I was not dumb, I knew it would be hard, and boy it’s hard. It will be worth it when I get there. So keep reading because you’ll see me get there, and hopefully it will help you embrace the likelihood that your journey will have sucky moments but that it will also be worth it once you get through it.

2024.02.07 16:15 fixingshitiswhatido Pilot Feedback Requested for engine monitoring system

Hello all, I'm relatively new to paramotoring. I've been flying for around a year. I’m an engineer by trade and love to build things. When I started paramotoring I noticed a lack of equipment available regarding engine feedback. Although some options do exist I have found them to be either lacking in features, crazy expensive or wildly inaccurate, sometimes all 3.
I decided to make my own with the original brief of it should be
Easy to install for the average pilot ideally no permanent mods required to fuel tanks ect
Easy to use with gloves on (from the UK it freezing here apart from the week we get for summer when it rains)
Have a graphical display that is easy to read at a glance, alot of existing devices have 3-6 readouts displayed on tiny mono colour screen.
Features
GPS data that supplies
Current bearing Heading Ground Speed Back up altitude (GPS not very accurate for this but its there why not) Bearing to Home location Distance from Home location
Barometric Sensor
Barometric pressure for accurate altitude Ambient temperature Rate of climb and fall
Non contact IR temperature sensors
1 for head temp 1 for exh temp
RPM induction sensor
Engine RPM from coil placed around the HT lead
Low flow Flowmeter
Fuel usage per hour Remaining flight time at current throttle position Remaining fuel in the tank
I did in early prototypes include an accelerometer and gyro to map things like G’s and angles but I’m a straight and level XC man myself so I removed them. I also thought about a second rpm sensor that would take the RPM of the prop to identify any problem with belts/clutches slipping but thought that might be overkill at this stage.
The GPS is a secondary function as it will never replace some of the apps we have nowadays I have included it after nearly getting lost on my first long flight when my phone died! so at least this tells you the bearing and distance to the field you flew from
So what do I need from you? At the moment I’m looking for feedback on the concept is there something I’ve missed that would be a great addition feature wise. Is there any interest for another product down these lines? And finally 1 specific question, I have been debating the best way to connect the display to the controller that collects the engine data. Originally I went wireless (WIFI) but then you need 2 batteries one for the screen and one for the data capture device. I don’t like batteries onboard my motor as much as I can avoid it, especially one mounted on the frame that I can’t remove if it bursts into flames (the only fires my club has ever seen have been caused by LIPOs in strobes). Then you have another battery to remember to charge so it has to be removable unless your Mrs lets you plonk a paramotor in the kitchen to charge.
I have settled for a usbC cable in between the 2 units that provide the power and data connections I just need to do some longer term testing to how the ports hold up to the vibration but so far they have been fine.
What do you guys think is the better option?
I can post some pictures of the screens ect if anyone is interested but bear in mind this is still in early prototype/testing phase so i changes every week (god bless 3d printers)
Sorry for the wall of text, thanks for reading and safe flying to you all.
UPDATE I tested the unit yesterday, I went with a tether but switched to vibration resistant m8 4 pin connectors. Everything works! Fuel reading accurate within 2% over 3ltr.

2024.01.29 07:22 Lepton_Decay Requesting Electrician Advice

Hello!

I have been looking for power stations which are able to charge in sub-zero temperatures. As high of watt hour capacity and voltage/wattage output as possible. I live in a state where it is very common for temperatures to reach -50 degrees Fahrenheit (about -50 Celsius). It concerns me that numerous resources online state Lithium Ion / Lithium Polymer has a lowest temperature constraint, because the temperatures in which this battery would be expected to operate would be below the lower bounds of this safe operational temperature. Charging and discharging is not recommended at these temperatures for safety reasons, as I understand at least.

How, then, can I find a power station which would be capable of operating in these temperatures? I would be looking for a large one to power A/C output devices (such as a heater, perhaps) and also some smaller, more portable chargers for laptops and phones and similar ilk - the constraints of that would be looser; something to the effect of 50,000mAH under ~10v load - but I would really like a 45W+ output capable USB C / A/C Port to fast-charge my phone and/or laptop.

Please, if anyone has appropriate literature apropos of this topic, I would be very grateful. It's important to me that my house does not blow down because a LiPo pack that was keeping me from freezing to death overnight exploded next to my head. I am not an electrician, but I have a fair understanding of electrical engineering / electrochemistry, so please do speak up on the finer details if you have bits you are willing to share!

Thanks in advance!

2024.01.08 00:02 Skeereboom Traxxas vxl3s esc in cold

Hi yall, figured I'd ask around here.
I took my slash for a spin for the first time in over a year and noticed that whatever lipo I tried the esc would immediately go into low battery mode, didn't matter if it came fresh out of the charger or not.
The conditions today were just about freezing. Could that cause the batteries to give a lower voltage and the esc to put it in this mode? Im really hoping I dont need to retire 4 3s batteries or the esc.
Thanks!

2023.12.30 01:05 SpringWide5713 Comprehensive Breast Reduction Recovery Shopping List

I am 3 wpo from breast reduction surgery, and when I was prepping for my surgery I found it hard to find a comprehensive shopping list for post-op recovery. There are some great tips in individual threads, but I didn't find a shopping list in one place that fit my needs.
I was 38K before surgery, maybe about a 38D post. I had drains for a week, lipo on my sides for removing axillary breast tissue in addition to the breast reduction, and I didn't have a free nipple graft (FNG). Removed 1300 g from each breast with a total of 5.75 lbs removed.
I couldn't do anything by myself for 3 days and needed my partner for everything. Didn't feel like I could make food by myself until 7 days. Felt like I could move and help with light chores around 8 dpo. Felt independent and didn't need help showering after 2 wpo. I plan on going back to my office job at around 3.5 wpo.
I'm sharing the items I purchased and found helpful during my recovery (so far no complications!), which felt more brutal than anticipated in terms of pain. I was much less mobile than I thought I'd be and my pain the first few days was rough. But your needs may be different, and always follow your surgeon's instructions!
Must-Haves:
  1. Miralax or other laxative/stool softeners: Between the anesthesia and painkillers, you will probably have constipation. Have this ready and take it as soon as you get home, following your other medication guidelines. I thought I wouldn't need this, and I suffered more than I needed to. Now I think it's a top purchase.
  2. Zyrtec (or alternative): Useful for managing itching, especially around day 5 when bruising may release histamines. I was so itchy I couldn't sleep, wish I had it at home when I needed it. I prefer it over Benadryl because its non-drowsy.
  3. Tylenol extra strength (but follow your surgeon's advice): My surgeon said no ibuprofen due to it causing bleeding. I used Tylenol only after my oxy script ran out.
  4. Stretchy, oversized t-shirts and/or button-downs: Aim for at least 7 of these that you don't care about getting blood on, which minimizes laundry. I bought a bunch from Goodwill. I'm now a size 12/14 on top, and I bought oversized t-shirts in a size 2x and 3x. For button-downs, just purchase the size you are pre-op, and it should be a nice, loose size post-op. I bought men's button-downs ranging from XL to 2XL, and they're great.
  5. Non-adherent dressing pads, surgical gauze, and tape: Follow your surgeon's instructions for incision/wound care, my surgeon instructed me to apply Vaseline twice a day after my post-op appointment at 1 wpo. I applied surgical gauze and tape over Vaseline to allow my incisions to breathe and prevent them from sticking to my shirts. I bought these. When I started scabbing, I used these non-adherent dressing pads on areas where I didn't want the gauze to pull on scabs prematurely.
  6. Front-close bras: The bras on Amazon like this one all run small and have limited sizing. I bought a bunch of bras in a bunch of sizes, but once swelling set in around 2 wpo, they were all too small. I swelled to a size 38 F/G, and these felt like they fit:
    1. For plus-size people getting a reduction or top surgery, I would recommend this one from Amazon in a 3xl.
    2. I also purchased this bra in a size 2x. It's a more expensive option, but it's my favorite at the moment.
    3. I have incisions that run under my armpit, and when the above bras started to rub along that incision, I switched to this bralette in a size small (it's curvy sizing, so it's more like a 2xl!) because the sides are wide. But I also have a partner to help put them on.
    4. This is the most expensive option, but these in a 2xl were great. It's a long entry, but I had a really hard time finding bras post-op, and the offerings aren't as size-inclusive as I would have thought. Just want to save someone the money and time I spent!
  7. Camis or tanks: Because I didn't have many bras to wear, I wore camis between my dressings and bra to minimize laundry in case I had leakage. I bought a few of these, no-shelf, so they wouldn't rub on my bottom incisions!
  8. Cold packs: Small and convenient for reducing swelling and pain. Fit them inside your bra for 15-minute sessions, I bought these. Big packs you might have will work, too; no need to buy special ones. The small ones I linked are just more convenient.
  9. Extra long straw: A lifesaver for sipping water without moving your arms, especially in the early days of recovery. The lipo made it so that any arm movement was killer. My partner bought these for me, I didn't think of buying these before my surgery, but this might have been my favorite thing. Highly recommend for those having axillary breast tissue removed too. He bought these.
  10. 10-foot-long iPhone charger.
  11. Nutrient-rich, whole foods: Focus on foods rich in protein and vitamin C to support healing and rich in fiber for constipation.
  12. Waist dog leash: If you have a dog, this is a must for walking them so they don't pull and overstretch your incisions.
  13. Small pillow: On the way home from the surgery, you might be passed out, but if not, you're going to feel every bump in the road—definitely a must to place between your chest and the seatbelt. I still use a pillow for driving 3 wpo.
Nice-to-Have, But Not Necessary:
  1. Dial soap antibacterial wash: I used it for a pre-surgery shower, and it's affordable. My surgeon recommended over Hibiclens, which he said was too stripping and not needed outside of a hospital context. But use what your surgeon says.
  2. Wedge pillow or sit-up pillow: If I had unlimited money, I would maybe buy this, but I just propped regular pillows behind me and under my knees to sleep upright, and I was completely comfortable.
  3. Bone broth, zinc, and vitamin C: My sister is a NP and recommended these supplements for healing. I bought bone broth (not broth or stock, it'll say bone broth) from Trader Joe's. The Kettle Fire bone broth tastes better, especially the turmeric ginger flavor, but it's expensive. Bone broth has a lot of protein and collagen! And I picked up zinc and vitamin C from Walgreens. 3 wpo, and I still have this combo every morning. I'm healing great, but everyone heals differently. Also, you know if you need additional supplements or if you have drug interactions with vitamins, so this is just a suggestion.
  4. Wet wipes: For me, these are a must; I was so sore I didn't want to shower. Just put these under some water, suds up, and wipe, and no need to rinse. But a washcloth and soap will do the trick, these were just more convenient.
  5. Medihoney: I found to be super effective for wound care. I had a small opening around my nipple at 9 dpo, and it healed in about 4 days. But my opening was definitely not infected, and you should always follow your surgeon's advice.
  6. Flushable wipes for the bathroom
  7. Arnica and bromelain: These supplements may help reduce bruising. It's hard to tell if this helped because I haven't had surgery like this before, but I had major bruising, was black and blue on my sides, and it was a soft yellow within a week at my post-op appointment, so it probably didn't hurt! This is the one I purchased.
  8. Disposable dining ware: To minimize dishwashing if you don't have assistance.
  9. Meal prep and freezing: Consider preparing meals in advance for the first few days when you may not feel like cooking.
  10. Mastectomy pillow: I could definitely see how this would be comfortable, I just didn't buy it because I had a certain budget and prioritized other things.
  11. Cart: For the first week, it would have been nice to have a cart or a caddy to keep all my meds, remotes, phone, and books in one place so I didn't have to get up, but I just used an Amazon box lol. After a week, it didn't feel necessary, and I'm glad I saved the money.
I hope this list is helpful! But I'm not a medical practitioner, and your surgeon's instructions are always the ones you should follow as your primary reference.
Did I miss something? Add it below!

2023.12.06 20:11 iamfyrus7 Alarm Clock + Oled SSD1306 + Arduino Nano + Sleep Mode

As the title, is there any alarm clock project I can copy to make one? I search all over the internet but cant find oled clock with sleep mode function other than the "sell" one. Saw many alarm clock on youtube but could find one with a sleep mode.
What I look is a alarm clock with external interrupt (pinmode) that only turn on the display when needed. To save battery and to save the display from burn out.
As my knowledge is limited, I cannot add myself the sleep mode into any ready made clock code available. I try few times but it just freeze the display and button. And not as i expected, I just know how to use delay() and the display is turn on within the delay only, if the delay(5000) then after 5 secs no matter if I still pressing the button, it goes to sleep ignoring what I'm doing. Like I said before, it just freeze, upon wakeup nothing cant be adjust. Sleep > wake > freeze > sleep.
I like THIS ALARM CLOCK but without the sleep mode function how long can it last on lipo battery? And how long will the display last when always ON?

2023.11.19 23:55 East_Succotash_9105 Arduino Sketch works on USB power from PC but not from battery power

Arduino Sketch works on USB power from PC but not from battery power
Currently, i have an arduino nano that is connected to an Adafruit SSD1306 I2C 128x64 OLED display. I have an AMS1117 3.3V regulator connected to VIN which powers the display with 3.3V and GND goes to arduino GND. When I plug this into my computer and run this sketch
#include  #include  // Display #define OLED_WIDTH_PX 128 #define OLED_HEIGHT_PX 64 #define OLED_I2C_ADDR 0x3C Adafruit_SSD1306 oled(OLED_WIDTH_PX, OLED_HEIGHT_PX, &Wire); void setup() { pinMode(LED_BUILTIN, OUTPUT); for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { digitalWrite(LED_BUILTIN, HIGH); delay(100); digitalWrite(LED_BUILTIN, LOW); delay(100); } // THIS LINE HERE oled.begin(SSD1306_SWITCHCAPVCC, OLED_I2C_ADDR); } void loop() { // put your main code here, to run repeatedly: digitalWrite(LED_BUILTIN, HIGH); delay(500); digitalWrite(LED_BUILTIN, LOW); delay(500); }
It does what id expect, which is blink 10 times quickly and then blink slowly indefinitely
However, when I run the exact same sketch except now powering the nano with a 2S 30C 750mah Lipo going into VIN and GND the led blinks quickly 10 times but then nothing else happens. I have confirmed that the line oled.begin(SSD1306_SWITCHCAPVCC, OLED_I2C_ADDR) is making the program freeze, as when I remove that line of code and then power from circuit from the battery it blinks as expected.
The code is not crashing and then restarting, it is just freezing. I have probed all points when connected to battery power and the voltages for the display are all correct, however the 5V pin and the output of the AMS1117 5V regulator on the nano are both measuring the same as VIN, and not 5V. Im not sure if this is affecting anything as the sketch does work when the line oled.begin IS NOT present. I am using an elegoo brand nano.
UPD: Startup current of the oled display (From the oled.begin line) was measured at 1.6ma
UPD: Image of circuit in question (there are voltage smoothing capacitors on the AMS, but I didn't draw them)

the board was the problem. as mentioned above the 5V of the board I was using was not measuring 5, I got a new board which did measure 5V on the 5V pin and that board worked properly. That would also explain why it only worked on PC power as PC power is 5V so the short across the regulator didn't affect anything.

2023.10.28 07:54 Affectionate-Mars196 How much pressure is there for both Hungarian girls and women to stay thin by skipping meals for the sake of dieting or losing weight?

I know that in Japan, no one talks about weight loss openly, also most of the women are skinny as in they can’t show an ounce of fat (otherwise there will be comments about weight gain, even in the slightest.) (It does not help either as because in anime and J-Dramas, most of the women in both mediums are always slim as a model considered goddess tier. This even spreads to female influeners via social media as well.)
Even on social media, they openly brag about being thin and maintain that, it does not only affects adult women but it’s regressed as early as their teens since there are instances of them skipping meals or lunch breaks (at school or work) just to adhere to a diet to maintain being thin. Despite gaining a few pounds in the slightest, they still get comments about weight, since there is a common belief that their weight remains synonymous akin to their appearance and outer beauty, as in they have to be bulimic in order for them to be deemed as skinny. There are even ads such as "put this pad on your belly and let it do the trick" yeah, that is not how it works, it's not 'magic' after all.
There are even aesthetic salons across the country, not only including laser hair removal but also facials and dieting machines, the thing that is sketchy about them is the claims regarding fat loss akin to weight loss and how accurate are they. They claim that the machines can quickly get rid of the fat for good, to be honest, I am not buying any of that.
In hindsight, how common is dieting just to maintain being skinny among teenage girls or adult women in Hungary? How many Hungarian women resort to (fat freezing or lipo) just to stay thin? How common are cases of teen girls and women in Hungary ending up bulimic or having an eating disorder because of excess dieting or being skinny as a skeleton?

2023.07.24 12:21 cupertinomedical Do you need clarification and looking for the body sculpting treatment?

Body sculpting treatments, also known as Body Contouring Treatment San Jose or body shaping procedures, have gained popularity in recent years as people seek effective ways to enhance their physical appearance and achieve their desired body shape. These treatments offer a non-surgical alternative to traditional fat reduction and body toning methods, providing individuals with a range of benefits. Here you will explore the various body sculpting treatments available and discuss their advantages.
Why to go for body sculpting treatments?
One of the most well-known body sculpting treatments is cryo lipolysis, commonly referred to as “fat freezing.” This procedure targets and eliminates stubborn pockets of fat by subjecting them to controlled cooling. The fat cells are frozen, causing them to crystallize and eventually break down. The body then naturally eliminates the treated fat cells over time. Cryolipolysis is non-invasive and requires no downtime, making it an attractive option for those who want to reduce fat in specific areas, such as the abdomen, thighs, or love handles.
📷
Another popular body sculpting treatment is radiofrequency (RF) therapy. RF technology uses targeted heat energy to stimulate collagen production and tighten the skin. The therapy promotes remodeling collagen fibers, resulting in smoother, firmer skin and a more youthful appearance. RF therapy can improve the appearance of sagging skin on the face, neck, arms, and abdomen. It is a non-surgical procedure with minimal discomfort and no downtime, allowing individuals to resume their normal activities immediately after treatment.
Body Skin Tightening Treatments Sunnyvale
Laser Lipo Sunnyvale, also known as laser liposuction, is another effective body sculpting treatment. It uses laser energy to liquefy fat cells, which are removed from the body through a small incision or absorbed by the lymphatic system. Laser lipolysis removes unwanted fat and tightens the surrounding skin, resulting in a smoother, more contoured appearance. This treatment is suitable for smaller body areas, such as the chin, arms, thighs, and abdomen, and offers quicker recovery than traditional liposuction.
📷
The benefits of Body Sculpting Treatments San Jose are numerous. Firstly, these procedures offer a non-surgical alternative to invasive surgical procedures like liposuction, allowing individuals to achieve their desired body shape without the associated risks and lengthy recovery periods. They are generally considered safe and effective, with minimal discomfort during treatment.
Moreover, body sculpting treatments are precise and targeted, focusing on specific areas of concern. This allows for customized treatment plans that address individual body shape goals. Whether it is reducing stubborn fat, tightening loose skin, or improving overall body contours, these treatments can be tailored to meet individual needs.
Additionally, most body sculpting treatments have minimal to no downtime. This means that individuals can resume their daily activities immediately after the procedure without needing extended recovery periods or taking time off work.
It is important to note that body sculpting treatments are not intended as weight loss solutions. They are most effective for individuals who are already close to their target weight and have specific areas of concern that are resistant to diet and exercise. These treatments complement a healthy lifestyle and can provide the finishing touches to achieve the desired body shape.

2023.07.18 10:15 Comprehensive_Cap357 Just diagnosed—cautionary tale

So glad I found this group because my anxiety is insane. Anyways I am newly diagnosed and lemme tell you, I had no symptoms—technically. So let me tell you my story.
It’s July 18 but back in January of this year, my job was laying people off. I decided to freeze my eggs (a free benefit from my job). The process took so long that the procedure and everything actually happened at the end of May.
Well, memorial weekend I was going to London to see Beyoncé. The day before I left, the egg freezing place tells me—be careful on the flight. Your estrogen is high and could cause blood clots. In my mind I’m freaking out. But ok whatever. Get some compression socks, walk. Cool. Flight was 8 hours overnight. Anyways I proceed to go to London. Then to france and stay in Nice for the month. I walked A LOT. Omg. Everywhere all the time. However, Everything was fine. Except one day my blood pressure went to 140/104. Randomly. Still idk if that has anything to do with the clot. I am a pretty healthy 33F.
Anyways I get home (another 9 hour flight) June 24. And June 26 I have lipo. Lol yea. Aggressive lipo too. All seemed well except I lost a lot of blood.
Ok the first week I had a nurse for healing. We “walked” enough. I felt. One day, I asked her if I had a clot. Idk why. But I did. She checked my leg and I got the whole “you would know” spiel. Anyways carried on about my life. Three weeks later….. the vein where the iv was popped up and was black. It was now bulging out my hand. Strange. Also, I have a three story town home and going up the stairs was becoming increasingly difficult lately. I mean I have asthma and have been through that before. So I just started on my inhaler like usual.
Well I went to the ER for the phlebitis. Which is not a serious thing. And something told me to ask for a d dimer test. Y’all….. idk why. I raised hell in that hospital too. I screamed and begged them to take it. Anyways they did and lo and behold I had a dvt and PE bilaterally. I stayed in the hospital for four days and also got a blood transfusion. My hemoglobin was 5 🙃. Don’t ask me how I was walking.
So here we are. A week out. The doctors said all my procedures and the travel and not to mention going back on seasonique (birth control) contributed to this.
It’s hard to reckon with the fact that I could’ve died. I don’t have pain or swelling in my legs. I don’t have shortness of breath abnormally. This is typical for me with my asthma. And now my period came which typically is nonexistent for me and light so thanks for the heads up that I no longer will live that great light period life.
Anyways I am a cautionary tale. No symptoms. Crazy. Wonder how long I could’ve gone on. I wonder if I had symptoms in France. Idk. I try to look back. Sometimes I had leg cramps but they went away. I thought I was dehydrated. To all who survived I thank God for y’all. Clearly we are blessed and we have work still left to do on this earth.

Got 1 xray, the battle continue, mid 20s F

I hope the picture works, please tell me anything you notice on the xray whether you read the text or not I'm interested! :> My life story is below, basically venting.
-April 2023
Recently went to an amazing surgeon after ages of trying to get to one, I'm in a free healthcare nordic country and the system failed me and continues to. The only reason I got to meet this surgeon was because I contacted another surgeon who gave me her personal email, she sent me a time for an appointment in a city 4.5h away but I'm just happy I finally get to see a surgeon. I tell her my problems:
I've got moderate pain on a daily basis, severe pain when I've angered the jaw gods, speaking too much, eating not soft foods, biting my teeth in my sleep(more on that later).
I find it difficult to speak because my upper teeth and gums feel too long and my lip can't form M,B,P sounds without great effort on my part, B becomes V, P becomes F. This makes me even more socially anxious and I don't like speaking.
My front teeth are constantly going dry and any dark food/liquid kind of gets stuck halfway down my front teeth where my lips end, beautiful.
It gets cold in my country, much past freezing, breathing in the winter hurts my teeth like hell, breathing through the nose is not great.
I have to keep doing a movement towards the left with my jaw which makes a noise in my left ear, but eases my uncomfort. I do this probably every 30 minutes otherwise my left side just doesn't feel good, it's subconscious.
My tongue doesn't sit well in my mouth, it feels like the palate part behind my upper teeth is way too low and squishes my tongue. I either have to hold it back or let it press against my upper teeth, which I've heard is bad.
My teeth are uncomfortable even though I've had braces twice.
She responds with the most angelic voice that she believes what I am saying and that I've come to the right place and the right person. I almost cry at this because I've spent my life being told everyone's tongue is uncomfortable, some people just have short lips(I don't its my teeth), just practice speaking better and that I am NOT in pain.
She finishes the examination with lots of poking and prodding which hurt and she lets me know I will be needing new joints, she can't say exactly when without xrays which she wants me to take closer to home, she tells me I am likely to get a jaw surgery on the free healthcare because of my other issues but she cannot promise.
She says she will send me to a jaw place closer to home to make it easier for me, and my province is more lenient with what falls under free healthcare than her province. She says I can come back to her but it will make it a little more difficult. Okay I'll see the closer people for xray and further exam.
-May 2023
I see surgeon #2, I get this xray taken, only the front view I got denied for the ceph. #2 tells me my left joint is in bad shape, my right is better. She comment on my antegonial notch and tells me I have this as a proof of my jaw issues. She tells me my jaw joints should have more "cushioning" in the jaw socket for my age, and my joints look like they belong to someone much older. She listen as I list my same problems, she prod and poke, measure my lip length from nose base to lip end, my tooth show etc, I can't remember all. She mumbles a bit to herself and tells me when a measurement is too little or too much.
She tries to put a lip spreader device into my face, does not fit, need the smallest size and we still struggle to get it to stay. My teeth are not good, I am confused I just had braces and the dentist was very happy with them. I have a gap between my right canine to my left first or second molar, the teeth don't touch. I told her I knew this my dentist said they would close on their own, braces off about 1 year prior. She told me that was a lie and I've been deceived. My lower incisors are pushing on the upper ones, not good. I also have an unbalanced bite now.
Then she sits down with a serious face. She basically tells me not to worry about my teeth, lips, pain, speaking issues and the reason for this is BECAUSE I LOOK CUTE. ??? I am thoroughly confused. I try to ask what she means about this and she says "I used to have a short upper lip too but now I am 50 and look it's normal length now!". I become more confused, what does this have to do with my obvious issues? Her response is something like "Oh I see patients that have actual problems like motorbike injuries and you are so lucky you are not them" and " Well in your quest to get the perfect face it's likely you will end up more unhappy, like with your dentist and braces!" I realise I've lost her and we are back to people telling me I have no issues. Sigh. I barely even mentioned my looks, since it's such a small worry at the moment.
She also dismisses when I tell her how I had a locked up jaw for several weeks as a younger teen and the orthodontists I saw didn't do anything to help, didn't send me to a jaw specialist, nothing. She doesn't believe it happened or that I've had jaw issues my entire life. Because "The dentists would have sent you to a surgeon" so "You must have not had very big issues". I had braces on my upper front 6 teeth only, something she also doesn't believe.
Then she asks me to come to her office to pay, and I get more confused because this isn't how you pay for healthcare, it comes as a slip in the mail. That's when I find out that this surgeon is a private one, superb! I pay the expensive fee from my meagre savings after paying for braces. Okay, nice. I cry on the way home. I did NOT know I was being remitted to a private surgeon.
- Present time
Now currently I am just angry. I reached out to the dentist about my current issues and the ones he caused me with unsuitable treatment. I BEGGED him to let me have xrays on my jaws because of my pain but of course "You don't have any issues the radiation risk is not worth it". He successfully gaslights me into thinking I actually don't have any issues and this is normal all I need is a slight adjustment to my forward pointing teeth and my lip issue will be solved. Well that's good news I think!
Shortly after I started my braces I start to get intense pain in my jaw, I tell him this on my first adjustment visit. "Oh it's because you are biting your teeth at night". Hm that's really odd I tell him, never had this issue in my life before, but okay my teeth are moving it'll be okay once the teeth are in good a position(hah!).
I keep complaining about this pain every visit, I had the braces 1 year with adjustments about every 1.5 months. He says it's a me problem. I ask EVERY visit if he can send me to get xrays because of my pain, he says "no you stupid bitch just stop eating hard foods" He didn't say that but the message was clear, I am causing this, I bite my teeth, I eat hard foods(I don't it hurt too much for that), I don't do the jaw exercises he gave me (I did), I am just a sensitive bitch and gotta man up.
Before the last visit where they are removed I bring up the gap between my teeth between right canine to whatever molar, I send him an email with a picture. It will be fine he says, it will close on it's own he says. Okay fair. They get removed. My issues persist about 1 year after which is when I reach out to the surgeon on her email. 7k euro for more pain.
- 2022
Between this time I had a nosejob, chin implant and chin lipo. Because I still thought the dentist was right, so I just ended up doing what I thought was best. I had just enough money to afford this as I was saving for a jaw surgery :) The surgeon I had for this was great, but even he commented on my overbite and my tooth gap. I told him confidently "My dentist said the gap will close on it's own, and I just had braces to correct my bite and jaws". He looks a little bewildered but he accepts this answer. I am so angry at myself that at the time I didn't think about this enough, but what are you to do when a professional tells you "facts"?
My nose still doesn't breathe right and is a bit uneven, my chin implant has messed a bit with my nerves and I got a spot of no feeling. My chin lipo went great and did a huuuge difference. I might have to have a 2nd nosejob, unsure yet.
- Back to present
The dentist I went to has now gone into pension, I've tried to contact the person who took over the practice which changed name. I got an answer to "is this the place I had this done?" He responds the next day"Yes, how is it going?". I tell him honestly the original dentist disregarded my issues and pain and refused me any xray which would have clearly proven I have big problems, and that I feel I've received the wrong treatment and that I'm very unhappy having spent so much money on more problems. After almost 30 days no response :)
I have severe anxiety issues and arguing with authority figures is so hard for me. I tried so many things to alleviate my problems and all I got was more issues and less money.
I spent every dentist visit from 13 years old up to the braces in 2021 complaining about all my problems, and no one did anything, no one sent me to a specialist. All they did was tell me I'm exaggerating and learn to live with my problems like everyone else. Free healthcare covers dental care for children and youths, I passed this time by weeks, before I understood it's a problem that can be solved and I don't have to live like this.
I'm so angry at the system that were supposed to catch cases like mine and provide care at a young age, most in my family had some sort of dental care, palate expanders for one.
I'm angry at my family for listening to me telling them I'm in pain, but accepting the dentists answers of basically "she's lying, she has such minor issues". If they had pushed for me to get help I most likely would have, a simple call to a specialist or even just firmly backing me up at an appointment and agreeing with me. Telling the people that everyone in the family has pretty much the same problems, overbites and jaw pain. Why didn't anyone do anything?
I've messaged the good lady again but have not heard back for a while, I'm asking if she can either send me to someone else within the free healthcare system or if I can come back to her. Free healthcare isn't even free, still has to pay for every appointment and phone appointments and this shit adds up, I am not rich. Also her and #2 are apparently good friends so I'm not sure how that will work out when #2 tells her I'm exaggerating everything and so on.
I don't know what I'm supposed to do now. I keep going from hopeless to very angry and to feeling invisible and uncared for.

What are the differences between laser lipo and other non-invasive body fat removal treatments?
Are you looking for the best way to remove unwanted body fat? In the world of aesthetics and beauty, there are several non-invasive treatments that promise effective results. However, it is important to understand the differences between them in order to make an informed decision.
Laser Lipo vs. other non-invasive body fat removal treatments
Laser Lipo and other non-invasive treatments are popular alternatives to traditional liposuction, as they do not require surgery or lengthy recovery time. Each of these methods uses specific technologies to remove body fat, but their approaches differ in several key ways.
Laser Lipo, for example, uses laser energy to target localized fat cells. The laser penetrates the skin noninvasively and breaks up the fat cells, allowing them to be released and eliminated naturally by the body. It is a precise treatment that can be applied to specific areas and usually requires multiple sessions for optimal results.
In contrast, other non-invasive treatments such as cryolipolysis use cold temperatures to freeze and destroy fat cells. Through a process known as apoptosis, the fat cells are gradually broken down and eliminated from the body over time. This method can also be applied to specific areas, but it usually takes several sessions to achieve visible results.
Another common non-invasive option is radiofrequency. This treatment uses controlled radio waves to heat the deeper layers of the skin and stimulate collagen production. Although it is not specifically designed to eliminate fat, it can improve the overall appearance of the skin and reduce cellulite in some people.
In summary, Laser Lipo, cryolipolysis and radiofrequency are popular non-invasive treatments for eliminating body fat. Each has its unique approach and specific benefits. If you are considering one of these procedures, it is essential to consult a trusted aesthetic professional who can evaluate your case and recommend the most appropriate option for you.

How does laser lipo compare to other non-invasive fat removal treatments?
If you are looking for an effective and safe way to get rid of unwanted fat, you may have considered the non-invasive treatments available on the market. In this article, we're going to discuss how laser lipo compares to other popular fat removal options.
Lipo laser: The Ultimate Solution for Fat Elimination
Laser lipo, also known as laser lipolysis, is a cosmetic procedure that uses low-power laser technology to dissolve and eliminate fat cells. Unlike traditional liposuction, laser lipo does not require surgery or general anesthesia, making it an attractive option for those who wish to avoid the risks and recovery times associated with invasive procedures.
However, it is important to note that there are other non-invasive alternatives available on the market. One of the most popular treatments is cryolipolysis, which uses extremely cold temperatures to freeze and destroy fat cells. Another commonly used method is radiofrequency, which uses heat to warm and eliminate unwanted fat.
When comparing laser lipo to these treatments, it is crucial to consider factors such as effectiveness, safety and long-term results. While laser lipo has been shown to be effective in reducing fat in specific areas of the body, cryolipolysis and radiofrequency have also shown promising results in various clinical studies.
In addition, it is critical to consider individual needs and preferences. While some may prefer laser lipo because of its shorter recovery time and less invasiveness, others may find cryolipolysis or radiofrequency better suited to their particular goals and circumstances.
In conclusion, the choice between laser lipo and other non-invasive fat removal treatments will depend on several factors, such as desired results, personal tolerance and the recommendation of the healthcare professional. Remember that it is always advisable to consult an aesthetic specialist or doctor to receive personalized advice before deciding which option is best for you.

How does Laser Lipo compare to other non-invasive fat reduction treatments?
If you're looking for a non-invasive solution to reduce unwanted fat, it's natural to wonder how Laser Lipo compares to other available treatments. Fortunately, there are several options on the market, and it's important to understand the differences to make the best decision.
Exploring Non-Surgical Fat Reduction Techniques for Achieving Your Ideal Body
Laser Lipo uses low-intensity laser technology to target fat cells and stimulate their removal. It is a non-surgical and generally painless procedure, with visible results in a few sessions. However, it is essential to note that results may vary depending on the individual and his or her lifestyle.
In comparison, other popular non-invasive treatments include cryolipolysis, radiofrequency and ultrasonic cavitation. Cryolipolysis uses controlled cooling to freeze fat cells, while radiofrequency heats tissues to stimulate collagen production and fat reduction. Ultrasonic cavitation uses sound waves to break up fat cells.
Each treatment has its particular advantages and considerations. For example, cryolipolysis may require multiple sessions and is not suitable for all types of fat. Radiofrequency can be effective in tightening the skin, but fat reduction results may be more subtle. Ultrasonic cavitation is less invasive, but may not be suitable for areas with lax skin.
Ultimately, the choice of treatment will depend on your individual goals, the area to be treated, your budget and the recommendations of a trusted professional. Before deciding, it is crucial to find an experienced and reputable clinic or aesthetic center and schedule a consultation to discuss your needs and expectations.
Remember that each person is unique, so it is advisable to receive a personalized evaluation before making any decisions. The information provided in this article is intended as a general guide, and it is always advisable to seek the advice of a qualified professional. Find the right non-invasive treatment and take the first step towards a slimmer, more confident figure!.
