meditation is not a practice that you do. Meditation is simply what you are. it takes no effort at all to be what you effortlessly are. your awareness never requires any maintenance nor any effort at all to simply be aware. you need to make an effort only so that you can come to the realization that it was always effortless the entire time. effortlessness is our most natural and unique divine quality but most are disconnected from their pure self and have adopted beLIEfs about who they are which is the source of their suffering. Very important to understand that this is not personal in any way shape or form. I have recently come to realize that God is very logical and runs the universe in a way that we all can unanimously agree on deep down in everyone's soul we all unanimously agree with God's way whether we want to or not simply because the spirit in all of us can't help but agree with it absolutely. The physical version of us can easily lie to itself but our spirit is incapable of it. If you suffer It could only be because you deserve to suffer. Although we have always been strategically and purposefully told by our society that "life is not fair!!!" Big surprise it turns out the society that man has wrought is ass backwards in every way shape and form. It's not the world that's upside down it's the society that makes it seem that way. The truth is the universe is perfectly Fair. It's just that humans are incredibly skilled at lying to themselves. So they are not aware of why they deserve to suffer. I have always been one who has been incapable of lying to myself. For example, most people are proud or feel arrogance and superiority because they possess some great quality. This is only possible because they are skilled at lying to themselves and ignore the fact that everything amazing about them could only be seen as a gift from God and any imperfection within us can only come from us as individual people. You have to be an amazing liar to your self to ever feel arrogance or any sense of superiority above others. We are all given our own unique special gifts from God and he did not give you these gifts expecting to be thanked or for any ulterior motive other than out of pure love. It is simply a fact that you unknowingly spit in the face of this great pure love if you pretend that anything good about you comes from you the individual person. Of course if it did come from you you would be worthy to feel Superior and dominate others but God is the living breathing proof of one who is Worthy to feel Superior and look down on anything and yet he doesn't do it. So if anybody who is unworthy dare to dominate, control, or even feel Superior to another they commit a great great sin against the universe itself. And their own soul will punish itself knowing full well it deserves it. I have always been painfully painfully aware of why I deserved whatever I deserved. And thanks to my special gift God allowed me to be the kind of person that is incapable of lying to themselves. I'm aware of the fact that Humility is the only thing I ever truly deserve to feel. we resist feeling this humility only because we resist our suffering. Suffering has never been our enemy just like the pain you feel when you touch a hot stove is not our enemy but our very important friend that you would be smart to listen to. Understanding this allows you to never again feel like suffering is something to complain about instead it becomes a grand opportunity for growth. Another gift that God gave me was an insatiable desire for growth that only an infinite and eternal God can satisfy. This is why my entire life God has never allowed me to feel Pride or arrogance without severely teaching me a lesson and putting me in my place. God has been drilling the lesson of humility into my head above all other lessons my entire life. Humility is the Foundation of all my spiritual growth. There's two other super important lessons he made sure I mastered before truly revealing himself to me. And I believe that if anyone were to fully learn just these three specific lessons he made sure I learned above all others then you too would be worthy of seeing his glory. You could be perfect in almost every way but haven't fully learned three fundamental things he simply cannot bless you the way he wants to because you simply wouldn't deserve it. And if you have many many flaws but you somehow are able to fully understand three specific things then you will earn so much of his love and respect that he will personally take care of your other flaws in time and put you on a fast track to your own unique perfection.you let go of control simply by realizing that you don't have it in the first place. the only control we have is whether or not we accept what ever comes and goes. the one who realizes that realizes control is overrated. it's much easier to flow in harmony and allow the universe to do all the work for you cuz it is you silly. effortlessness is our most natural quality but most are disconnected from their pure self and have adopted belief of who they are which is the source of their suffering. thus giving birth to the false sense of personhood. a mere illusion that we cling to and overlook our true selves which is always present but seemingly overshadowed by the mind. it's very rare for me to find one who can not only follow me in this but also speak profound truth on the matter. The self within me is the same self within you. to connect love and inspire those who also know that we are not two is pretty damn cool if you ask me. there is nothing that I enjoy doing more than this haha. You beautiful bums do you not realize š it is your experience at any given moment you can verify that this awareness we all have an experience of is ever present and unchanging? although I love ABSOLUTELY ALL equally and unconditionally. the way that I feel for another being who Has also walked the narrow path and can stand next to me shoulder to shoulder or better yet way Beyond me in terms of wisdom never as a mere follower but as an equal goes far beyond any word that could possible exist. I will give you nothing. all I will do is ask the question and you yourself have to testify that this awareness that you KNOW that YOU are is ever present and unchanging. every single person on the planet if they would only investigate themselves would come to the exact same conclusion within themselves. and if they only knew the implications of such a profound discovery their minds would be blown Sky High. for the past 10 years I've been pondering one profound matter and it wasn't until about 7 years did I barely begin to really understand it's depths. and 3 years later I now find myself to just begin to walk the path of understanding. there is no end to this path I'm on. there is an infinite amount of growth ahead of me. my journey to reaching this point has been one drenched in failure and suffering. I have fallen in every single trap possible many many times until I eventually matured slowly but surely in my awareness of these traps and adjusted to not only not falling anymore traps but pass every single test that the universe constantly loves to throw at me with flying colors. I went through all that pain and suffering so that I may be a light too those Souls who attempt to walk a similar path as me. although in comparison to the whole of humanity only a handful will bare the fruits they were supposed to. I have a feeling it's going to be a pretty damn good handful. my instincts tell me I'm far from alone and that many have walked a similar narrow Road. I do not often come across those who have an ear to hear that which I speak. I've had to learn the hard way to stop giving precious jewelry to swine and instead save it for those Worthy even if it means waiting a long time to find such a being. The universe loves to remind me that it appreciates me greatly for trying my very best with great passion to teach another that which I have understood but it seems like it's only meant for those who have a level of discernment that is extremely Sharp enough to see through all the b******* but not throw away the precious baby with the bathwater. the truth that I have found is so simple that most humans will simply Overlook or not be able to sense the importance of it because they don't realize the beauty of the most simple truth that if you investigate enough transforms into the most profound and never-ending mystery. leave it to God who is the source of all paradoxes to hide the most profound thing in existence right under everybody's noses in plain sight making it seem so simple that the vast majority of all beings who have ever lived are incapable of appreciating it and instead live and die never tasting or knowing themselves. Its always been my sincere Love Of Truth that has kept me forever Rising through an ocean of darkness. all the pain and suffering that life throws at anyone is Beyond worth it if one can just manage to learn the specific lesson that accompanied them. to not learn the lesson would be a waste of that suffering. I am one who has not wasted a single drop of it. I'm just a humble servant of this grand life. there is no greater honor in life than to be a servant of it. the true definition of a king is one who dedicates their life in service of their precious kin their beloved brethren. all beings are equal and deserving of dignity and respect, this is simply common sense to one who knows themselves. A servant of nature is what I'm hoping they will call me when I'm dead. It's okay, it's never too late. unconditional love really does exist and You can see for yourself it's infinite. I AM one who effortlessly wields this all powerful force we call LOVE. an infinity love that encompasses all. a love so mighty that no one could ever hope to Escape it's grasp no matter how hard they try. You see... That is a rare gift. A love that knows no bounds.

I woke up to seagulls this morning, I really like the sound of them. I mean they donāt make pretty sounds, nor is it relaxing, but it feels like a comforting noise I guess? I think because I like being by the sea. Iām not sure. It was nice though. I love living by the sea, like I hear ship horns and seagulls and all of that. It makes me forever paranoid of tsunamis though. I think Iād like to live in a little seaside town with my honey, but I also donāt because then I couldnāt have the garden of my dreams nor would I have the countryside lifestyle I want. I donāt really know what I want. I donāt think I have enough money to be all that picky anyway.
I kind of woke up with that pit in my stomach feeling today. I donāt like how our calls were last night, either one of them. The first I felt like he didnāt want to talk to me and the second it was me being like that to him. I didnāt mean to make it come across that way, but I think he just caught me out when I was mid-deep sleep? I couldnāt wake up or focus and idk. Normally Iām fine to wake up though? And I love his night time calls, to know heās thinking about me makes me feel so warm inside. It feels weird to think I ever cross his mind when we arenāt in an active conversation, I guess that comes back to the self esteem thing and feeling unworthy of being a thought in his mind, not feeling important enough, or something. But in that second call, I guess I didnāt like that he got me off the phone earlier because he was so sleepy, but then it turned out he was still up and about two hours later? It made me feel like he lied about being tired to get rid of me. I donāt think that was the case, but itās how it made me feel in the moment. Anyway I woke up feeling uneasy, I felt okay but a little uneasy so I made sure to apologise. I think as well because I fell asleep feeling a little uneasy, it felt like he rushed me off the phone or like I was boring him to death or something. But it made me think about how itās only 9pm where he is, and that he could quite easily have someone come over around that time. I donāt believe he would do that, but it scares me all the same. The way in which he could crush me into nothing is a little frightening sometimes, it really feels like Iāve just laid out my sad little heart out there for him to stomp all over if he so wishes to do so. I know if he did end things I would be okay, I think, but I canāt say I donāt worry about how it would affect my mental health and ārecoveryā - how far would it set me back? But also thatās not on him at all, and Iām never ever going to imply as such to him. He ought to make decisions based on what he wants and is best for him. Anyway itās fine and we talked this morning and nothing has changed for him either, we both still want each other and this so it doesnāt even matter. I still feel bad about how I made him feel. Iām really glad, even though I made him feel bad which I wish I hadnāt, but sometimes it really helps to have him say he still wants this. I know his actions speak louder than words, but sometimes I need the words too. And so him saying āIām still the sameā was really reassuring and made me feel so lovey.
Iāve made a hair appointment, for end of June. I kind of wanted it early June as my hair is annoying the f out of me now, but her first available slot is end of June sooo I guess it still works out well. It gives me five weeks to continue growing out my layers so that we can start afresh. Iām going to get my face framies cut shorter this time as they grow out so quickly. I think otherwise Iāll get very subtle layering, enough to add some movement and help it air dry nicely, but I want the ends as thick as possible too. Iāll get a general root touch up to darken them up a little, and then a tonegloss for the lengths to cool down the warmth a little and darken it up ever so slightly. And then Iāve booked in for a full on olaplex treatment, so that will be nice. I am all about my hair health this year. I always have been but now even more so.
Itās so autumnal today. I really want to watch my favourite cosy romcoms, their autumn scenes are always my most absolute favourite. And winter I suppose. Basically Meg Ryan in autumn is my favourite thing and comforts me to no end.
I think I assume that if I know something then everyone else must know it too, so when they donāt I find it baffling that they donāt know. I guess because I consider myself thicker than a brick and everyone else smarter than I am, so Iād say in the team quiz no one knows the answer I start thinking how do you not know this, but thatās unfair of me and Iām making an assumption based on my low self esteem. But also I am as dumb as a rock so I mean thereās low self esteem and then thereās self awareness. But I just assume that if I know something, then it therefore must be as widely known as 2+2=4.
Iām wearing my Mon Guerlain perfume today, I quite like it, I guess I liked it a fair but considering I seem to have both a bottle of the edp and edt? I think this was during lockdown. Anyway I never wear it but I am today as itās quite a warm scent, itās like a warm vanilla but with a touch of lavender? Barely any lavender though, just a teeny tiny little bit. I just googled and thatās exactly what it is so yay me! Except itās blatantly obvious so perhaps Iāll calm down on the self celebrations. Anyway itās not one Iād replace but I do like it I suppose. It feels a little mature, not in an older woman way but in a mid-40s way. I read a comment and it said that it gives wife-and-adoring-mother with a wealthy husband, whoās just kissed her children goodnight before sweeping off in her furs to dinner and the opera. Itās classy and elegant, but with something warm and motherly to it and I get that too. Like the mama in Peter Pan! Anyway Iām a little ways off that stage of my life. But itās a nice wfh scent I suppose. Most of my perfumes are just wfh/chill at home ones now. I wear perfume everyday, Iād say thatās silly but a) Andy tends to too and anything he does that I do makes me feel more assured itās okay, b) I have a lottttt to get through and c) even if I didnāt have a lottttt to get through I still would because I just like to feel pretty. I may be as ugly as a troll but I will still be presentable enough. Not nicely, but perfume, groomed brows, glowy skin/skincare, my cutie lil diamond studs, brushed hair etc. Except I like a lived in look, I donāt like to look super prim and proper I prefer more bedheady hair and to look like I donāt care an awful lot, but in a nonchalant Kate Moss way not a get wrecked Adam Sandler way. Except I think Adam Sandler is the better of the two - I read he still has a regular-ish house? Then again it was the internet and Iām as gullible asā¦ idk something gullible. Thatās what I adore about Andy, he will do his own research and not believe anything outright, heāll question it and all of that. Whereas I can just be like woowwwww crazy and then move on. There are many ways Iād like to be more like him, I donāt want to be like him but I just want to be better and heās better so idk. He seems a little paranoid Iāll be like his ex who basically tried to become the tweedle dum to his tweedle dee, but I mean thatās never going to happen? I like to try things he likes, for example snacks and drinks and things. And if he says he enjoys using something and recommends it, ie his mouse, then I take his recommendations seriously. But Iām never going to dress or act like him, I mean I adore him but I donāt want to be a manā¦? I like being girly and different from him! But I just mean I like how he approaches things, I like how he handles disagreements or thinks about new information - theyāre things I want to kind of learn from him. Not in a way where Iād ask because that makes it weirder. Idk. This whole thing is weird. I just admire him. Now I sound like some kinda single white femaleā¦ which I amā¦ oh god.
Todays been fine overall. I did something new workwise, getting into LOEs for H&S speeding stuff, I had a call with a manager about one of his direct reports this morning and he was like I mean is it that bad and I had to tell a 40 something grown man that it is indeed bad to speed 28km over the speed limit. For any reason. And in a branded vehicle at that. Anyway so then I had to do the letter which was fine but itās such a confusing template so I suggested some alterations to the Head of and she said they were excellent and she would change the template letter to include my suggestions, so that made me feel good. I enjoy that part of my work, I think I like processes and policies and all of that stuff. Idk why someone with social anxiety thought it would be smart to get into PEOPLE advisory. But like I said, as thick as a brick.
I had such a fun chat with him this evening, he makes me all giggly and silly and I hate myself for saying that. The word giggle is so bleh. I mean itās a cute word but it feels wrong to say for whatever reason. Itās like when people say āheheā in texts or whatever, it makes me feel gross even though I donāt even mind it. I think in the right context from the right person itās fine, but Iāve never experienced that so idk. Now Iām thinking ofā¦ something. Something we watched. And the subtitles had it as āheh hehā and Iām thinking sopranos. Anyway newsflash to no one: I love him a hellllllll of a lot.
I wish I didnāt have to go to the office tomorrow. Itās so annoying. I know itās good for me and also my manager has outright asked me to, so I kind of have to regardless, but also Iāll just focus on the fact itās good for me to be properly out of the house and stuff. And it has perks I guess, I can have sushi for lunch, peruse the bookshop nearby and I also donāt snack when Iām at the office, I take nuts with me but I donāt eat them because I get all anxy about if people can hear me chewing or if they think Iām some kind of insatiable ogre who canāt wait til lunch or dinner. But so I just have a few bits of sushi for lunch. Although I really want to try this Vietnamese place, they have a salad that looks so bloody good, but Iāve never been and it looks like the kind you line up for like subway and that sends a barrage of anxiety through me so maybe sometime in the future. But I also tend to get more done and idk. Itās good for me. Iāll just keep telling myself that while I hate life two days a week for the foreseeable. Itās not even that bad, it is bad anxiety wise - like yesterday I didnāt go to the bathroom for over an hour from when I needed to pee because of my anxiety, I also didnāt fill up my drink bottle or get another coffee at all for the whole day. So my anxiety is bad, but maybe over time itāll get better, Iām sure it will, I just have to suck it up in the interim.
I think Iāll stop now because I have 10 mins exactly til 8 and I need to get entirely ready for bed and post this. I needed to blowdry my hair but I spent too long in the shower and now I donāt have time so oh well. Tbh I look like utter shite anyway lately so whatās a bad hair day to go with it? After I gave birth 3years ago my lips have become really sensitive to the sun, by the time my daughter had turned one I had already been burnt 15-20 times in the space of a year. Different sunlight, different times, different spf50 lip balms.Some burns were worse than others and led to painful red sore blisters, which eventually turned into hard dry constantly chapped peeling lips over and over. I tried several lip balms to combat the constant dry chapped sore peeling and eventually what worked was 50/50 liquid paraffin and switching to sls free toothpaste. I have bare minimum dryness now but it was winter so helped having no sunlight. Have been to several doctors who eventually referred me to dermatologist, it wasn't until the 3rd one I changed to who have sent me to another referral to get allergy tests done and possibly Further testing (still waiting months for a letter to come through :/) I have noticed it will be quite sunny and humid and even with spf50 lip balm on my lips (applying every 30mins, no drinking or eating whilst out so it doesnt come off) I start getting a tingling feeling on and around my lips and that's when I know the damage is done and I'm sunburnt. Chapter 1
Mors
An endless void, silence interlaid with its pitch-darkness, greeted an injured man. No light can be seen, sensations be damned, and consciousness spread thin as though taut in this incomprehensive expanse that laid before him.
Callum fell into the abyss, his mind the only thing left to accompany him. He hasnāt even counted the minutes as his mind is plagued by something else. He never considered himself a man of interest, only scraping by with his odd jobs and part-time salaries, hence why he couldnāt understand his current situation.
Betrayal is something that he is familiar with, whether it be a betrayal of his expectations when a co-worker broke his promise or a betrayal of his emotions when his first love interest cheated on him back in uni. However, this betrayal orchestrated by his best friend whom heād known for 5 years, and girlfriend for 8 years felt more gut-wrenching than the pain he felt from the stab.
Denial was the first thing that stormed his mind. He couldnāt believe that the two closest people in his life would stab him in the back, literally. There was no build-up, he didnāt suspect a thing, and everything was normal until he found steel in his flesh.
He rejected the notion that his girlfriend, Catherine, would betray him like this, an accomplice to a murder that he canāt grasp the motive of. He has built up some savings, but it isnāt something that would be worth murdering someone for, especially after buying that ring.
He dismissed the thought of Jake being jealous of their relationship as he couldnāt see the guy doing something as stupid as this. He canāt form any rhyme or reason as to why they would do it, and the only possible explanation is that this was all a dream and he was actually still sleeping inside the tent.
But as he waited for himself to wake from this nightmare, only darkness greeted him. He had tried moving his body in this sea of blackness, but the movement only felt like going through molasses with tired arms, which is why he attributed this as being only a dream that he would wake up from, which appeared to be wrong as he waited and waited.
Anxiety crept in as he tried to call out, but no sound escaped his lips. He strained his voice to be heard, yet he can't even hear himself. No light adorned this place, no wind to be heard, and he couldnāt feel anything even though he tried feeling himself.
The pain in his back was forgotten as he tried and tried to move, to scream, to flail senselessly, amounting to nothing as he was greeted by nothing.
Feeling anything in this void is something impossible, and the only thing that he can do is return to his mindscape.
He went back to his oldest memories, back to a time when everything felt oppressive and suffocating. Callum was born into a broken family. His mother and father had gone through a divorce when he was only 6 years old. He could still remember the screaming and yelling of his parents whenever night fell in their sorry state of an apartment.
His father, Eric, having not finished his education after Callumās birth, has been living as a blue-collar worker in downtown New Jersey. Even during his day-offs, he canāt seem to find rest as he goes to do odd jobs and part-time work to stay afloat. On the other hand, his mother would leave him, a toddler, alone in the apartment.
He remembered her putting CDs in a DVD player so that it could keep his attention on a cartoon that his father introduced him to. If he had anything to describe his mother, she would be irresponsible and narcissistic. She would sometimes bring guys over to their apartment, threatening Callum with divorce if he ever told Eric about it, hence why it took several years until his dad caught on and filed for a divorce.
Eric was determined to take Callum with him, he argues that he could take care of his child better than Callumās mother. But his mother and her twisted pride canāt let go of Callum, which leads to a legal dispute between the two.
The court hearings went on for several months, with each passing day being a lot more hellish for Callum. He was subjected to further insults by his mother as she knew that leaving bruises on her child would lower her chances of winning over the court to her side. Sometimes, she would go as far as manipulate him, gaslighting him into believing that she was a good mother who would take care of him better than his father. But after seeing that the court favors Ericās side more, his mother took drastic measures to satisfy her wounded pride.
It was the second to the last day of the court hearing, and it was during this time that his father was working overtime. Callum had just gone home from his elementary school, feeling tired as he hauled his bag over his shoulders up the multiple flights of stairs he had to climb to get to their apartment.
As he neared his home, he steeled himself and opened the door, only to be met with overturned tables and broken ceramics. He walked quietly through the scene, afraid that someone might hear him entering his home. Looking back on it now, Calum canāt help himself but laugh at his stupidity. He could have gone and alerted their neighbors, or gone back downstairs to wait for his father, but being a child, Callum doesnāt know what to do.
As he entered his room, he saw black words spray painted on the walls, the meaning eluding him as he didnāt know what it meant since he was 7 at the time, but remembering it now sent shivers down his spine.
The words āThis is what you get!ā on a torn wallpaper are ingrained in his mind. Seeing the manic letters sprayed over the walls gave Callum anxiety, taking a few steps back towards the open front door of their apartment. Escape was now on his mind as he grew scared of what was to come, something that was far too late as he heard his mother behind him.
It was there that everything turned into a blur. He remembered snippets of yelling and crying both from himself and his mother. He remembered his mother forcing something down his throat. He remembered his father coming home early that day and restraining his mother, a crazy look in her eyes. He remembered the feeling of nausea and the floor colored with his lunch. And he remembered the sirens, red and blue lights dancing in his vision as he was carried to a stretcher. The last thing he remembered was his father crying, holding his hands tightly when he opened his tired eyes.
For the next few days, he learned from the news that his mother attempted a double suicide. The story goes, after losing the custody battle, the mother planned to take revenge by ending the lives of both her child and herself. They said that he got lucky as the neighbors had contacted Eric when his mother turned their home upside down, relating it to a possible home invasion. If not for him, Callum would have died from nicotine poisoning after his mother forced tobacco down his gullet, a morbid story that he uses as a joke during his time at work.
He remembered being inside that hospital for days on end, his body recovering from the poison his mother left him with, and his father was there almost every day even though he had to work to pay the hospital bills. After what felt like forever was he allowed to be discharged, going back to the same refurbished apartment that they lived in, but after seeing how Callum had recurring nightmares and trauma attached to the place, they decided to move to Pennsylvania. A hard decision that needed to be made as his father would put it.
Everything after the whole incident was better for Callum. His father got a job as a mover, still doing some part-time work here and there, and Callum did his best in school so as not to burden his father with more work. Even though they lived in a rundown shack handed to them by one of the locals, they didnāt mind as they knew that getting to live at all was better than what they had before.
Callum smiled in the abyss as he reminisced about his time with his father. He was a great man, a good role model for anyone who came across him. He is kind-hearted and considerate, a hard worker that makes him popular among his peers. It was them that helped move him and his father out of New Jersey and found them a place to sleep in, teaching Callum that socializing and connecting with like-minded people goes a long way when someone needs it.
For the next few years, Callum lived happily. Though there were some ups and downs, he and his father got through it, which is why the memory of his time in university was depressing.
Eric, after having saved some money, gave Callum the go-ahead to enroll in a university in California. But after attaining an athletic scholarship in football, Callum gave his father a surprise to ease his worries and stress. Callum felt bad every time he saw his father work, hence why he tried his hardest to take some of that workload to give him a break. With the tuition being lowered with the scholarship, Callum could give the rest of the money back to his dad. A gesture that was fully gratified as his father had a hard time letting him go when the time came to move over to the university. But it was during this time that tragedy struck.
It was his fourth year in studying anthropology when he heard the news from one of his fatherās friends, Robby. After hearing it, he grew distressed and worried, taking a lot of convincing from Robby to keep Callum from moving back to Pennsylvania.
His father has gone missing. The news had spread amongst his co-workers and friends, and a search team was already being dispatched to find him. Even though Callum tried to keep his focus on studying, he couldnāt help but feel agitated as days went by without news of his father being seen. His mental state plummeted, and he grew withdrawn from reality as days turned to weeks, his father still gone.
He could still remember the times when he locked himself in the schoolās library, searching the web to find any news or reports of his father's whereabouts, but as he searched for days on end, only one thing kept popping up from the newsletters. His father, Eric Hurst Foster, went missing in his own home. There were no struggles in the house, the CCTV didnāt see him on any of the roads or stores in the town they lived in, he just seemed to have vanished into thin air.
The news ate away at Callum, and his friends that heād made during the time gave their support to keep him from spiraling out of control. However, even with their support, Callumās worries over his dad never went away, hence why he threw himself into work. Going to part-time jobs and studying is the only way to keep his mind from blowing. He did this until he finished university and found a job to stay afloat.
This went on for years until heās come to accept that his father may never be found. With nothing to ground him in their old home, he decided to explore the world, thinking that one day, he might find a lead to the whereabouts of his dad.
Months turned to years as he worked tirelessly in multiple jobs. From being a mechanic, electrician, cook, waiter, and many more to count, Callum went on a work frenzy. He made a plan to scour the states as a freelancer, living in his BMW pick-up truck that was given to him by one of his friends. He stayed in each state for a few months, meeting new people and making some friends along the way. They sent their well wishes to Callum as they knew that he was still trying to find his missing father.
Years went by as he made his way back to California. He had gone and explored every state, and yet no news of his father came to light. The case had gone cold, and it was up to Callum to find any clues to this mystery. His mind has told him to give up the search, and multiple friends have given him consolation as they knew that his father would never be found, but Callum persevered.
It was during this time that he found himself as a mover, the same job that his father had before he disappeared. He had just come back to California after getting the job, and he was about to go check in for his first day when a sudden downpour of rain covered the skies of the city. It was only coincidental that he was near that coffee shop, and it was coincidental that only two customers were present there. He and his future girlfriend turned accomplice to his murder.
The rest of his memories went by as he continued to float in the abyss. From the time of their first years in a relationship to meeting Jake for the first time in that apartment to when he taught PE and History in a school in Minnesota. Everything went by as Callum went from one memory to another until he felt something.
A chill ran down his spine as an indescribable dread manifested in his mind. He knew not why he felt this way, and he felt himself tearing at the seams as a slit of light showed itself in the void. He was then pulled into the light, senses coming back after he spent his time in the abyss for what felt like days. And with a flash, he is back in the same hunched-over position he was in when he was stabbed in the back.
Callum canāt help but laugh as he finally could see again. Trees surrounded his vision, with wild grass carpeting the ground. But before he could truly see the world, he felt a sharp pain in his back. With his body remembering that he was injured, he felt himself sweat profusely as he bled, painting the flowers under him red. And yet he didnāt panic.
After all that time reminiscing, he finally gave in and let death come to him. He fell on his back, sending another wave of pain coursing through his body, cursing under his breath as he regretted not laying himself down slowly. And as he looked to the sky, he felt himself getting colder and colder.
Callum felt at peace as he stared at the clouds above him. The sound of the wind and the rustling of leaves helped him come to terms that he was truly dying. Heād thought about death a lot. During his time when he was a kid, and when he was depressed after his father went missing. But the peace he felt for only a few moments as emotions came crashing down.
He felt himself tear up as he came to terms with his current situation. He would never have a chance to marry the girl in his life. He would never have a chance to have his own children and see them grow. He would never have a chance to be a father. And he would never have a chance to grow old with the people he loved around him.
As he thought of these things, the floodgates opened. Streams of tears fell down his cheeks as he sobbed in his dying state. He could only put his hands over his eyes to stop it from flowing, an action that felt challenging as his body became fatigued from all the blood loss. The crying only hastened his death as he felt his breath escape him, his lungs labored and filled with blood as the stab had punctured it.
Minutes went by as Callum felt himself grow tired and tired. And as he closed his eyes, Callumās heart slowed and slowed as his body has a lack of blood to pump. His breathing grew shallower with each second until his body gave way and stopped altogether.
Callum died at the age of 34, stabbed in the back by his best friend with his girlfriend being an accomplice for his murder. He died from blood loss as his body colored the ground red.
Callum waited and waited to feel his consciousness fade as he welcomed death to greet him. And as the second grewā¦

His consciousness never faded away.

An endless void, silence interlaid with its pitch-darkness, greeted an injured man. No light can be seen, sensations be damned, and consciousness spread thin as though taut in this incomprehensive expanse that laid before him.
Callum fell into the abyss, his mind the only thing left to accompany him. He hasnāt even counted the minutes as his mind is plagued by something else. He never considered himself a man of interest, only scraping by with his odd jobs and part-time salaries, hence why he couldnāt understand his current situation.
Betrayal is something that he is familiar with, whether it be a betrayal of his expectations when a co-worker broke his promise or a betrayal of his emotions when his first love interest cheated on him back in uni. However, this betrayal orchestrated by his best friend whom heād known for 5 years, and girlfriend for 8 years felt more gut-wrenching than the pain he felt from the stab.
Denial was the first thing that stormed his mind. He couldnāt believe that the two closest people in his life would stab him in the back, literally. There was no build-up, he didnāt suspect a thing, and everything was normal until he found steel in his flesh.
He rejected the notion that his girlfriend, Catherine, would betray him like this, an accomplice to a murder that he canāt grasp the motive of. He has built up some savings, but it isnāt something that would be worth murdering someone for, especially after buying that ring.
He dismissed the thought of Jake being jealous of their relationship as he couldnāt see the guy doing something as stupid as this. He canāt form any rhyme or reason as to why they would do it, and the only possible explanation is that this was all a dream and he was actually still sleeping inside the tent.
But as he waited for himself to wake from this nightmare, only darkness greeted him. He had tried moving his body in this sea of blackness, but the movement only felt like going through molasses with tired arms, which is why he attributed this as being only a dream that he would wake up from, which appeared to be wrong as he waited and waited.
Anxiety crept in as he tried to call out, but no sound escaped his lips. He strained his voice to be heard, yet he can't even hear himself. No light adorned this place, no wind to be heard, and he couldnāt feel anything even though he tried feeling himself.
The pain in his back was forgotten as he tried and tried to move, to scream, to flail senselessly, amounting to nothing as he was greeted by nothing.
Feeling anything in this void is something impossible, and the only thing that he can do is return to his mindscape.
He went back to his oldest memories, back to a time when everything felt oppressive and suffocating. Callum was born into a broken family. His mother and father had gone through a divorce when he was only 6 years old. He could still remember the screaming and yelling of his parents whenever night fell in their sorry state of an apartment.
His father, Eric, having not finished his education after Callumās birth, has been living as a blue-collar worker in downtown New Jersey. Even during his day-offs, he canāt seem to find rest as he goes to do odd jobs and part-time work to stay afloat. On the other hand, his mother would leave him, a toddler, alone in the apartment.
He remembered her putting CDs in a DVD player so that it could keep his attention on a cartoon that his father introduced him to. If he had anything to describe his mother, she would be irresponsible and narcissistic. She would sometimes bring guys over to their apartment, threatening Callum with divorce if he ever told Eric about it, hence why it took several years until his dad caught on and filed for a divorce.
Eric was determined to take Callum with him, he argues that he could take care of his child better than Callumās mother. But his mother and her twisted pride canāt let go of Callum, which leads to a legal dispute between the two.
The court hearings went on for several months, with each passing day being a lot more hellish for Callum. He was subjected to further insults by his mother as she knew that leaving bruises on her child would lower her chances of winning over the court to her side. Sometimes, she would go as far as manipulate him, gaslighting him into believing that she was a good mother who would take care of him better than his father. But after seeing that the court favors Ericās side more, his mother took drastic measures to satisfy her wounded pride.
It was the second to the last day of the court hearing, and it was during this time that his father was working overtime. Callum had just gone home from his elementary school, feeling tired as he hauled his bag over his shoulders up the multiple flights of stairs he had to climb to get to their apartment.
As he neared his home, he steeled himself and opened the door, only to be met with overturned tables and broken ceramics. He walked quietly through the scene, afraid that someone might hear him entering his home. Looking back on it now, Calum canāt help himself but laugh at his stupidity. He could have gone and alerted their neighbors, or gone back downstairs to wait for his father, but being a child, Callum doesnāt know what to do.
As he entered his room, he saw black words spray painted on the walls, the meaning eluding him as he didnāt know what it meant since he was 7 at the time, but remembering it now sent shivers down his spine.
The words āThis is what you get!ā on a torn wallpaper are ingrained in his mind. Seeing the manic letters sprayed over the walls gave Callum anxiety, taking a few steps back towards the open front door of their apartment. Escape was now on his mind as he grew scared of what was to come, something that was far too late as he heard his mother behind him.
It was there that everything turned into a blur. He remembered snippets of yelling and crying both from himself and his mother. He remembered his mother forcing something down his throat. He remembered his father coming home early that day and restraining his mother, a crazy look in her eyes. He remembered the feeling of nausea and the floor colored with his lunch. And he remembered the sirens, red and blue lights dancing in his vision as he was carried to a stretcher. The last thing he remembered was his father crying, holding his hands tightly when he opened his tired eyes.
For the next few days, he learned from the news that his mother attempted a double suicide. The story goes, after losing the custody battle, the mother planned to take revenge by ending the lives of both her child and herself. They said that he got lucky as the neighbors had contacted Eric when his mother turned their home upside down, relating it to a possible home invasion. If not for him, Callum would have died from nicotine poisoning after his mother forced tobacco down his gullet, a morbid story that he uses as a joke during his time at work.
He remembered being inside that hospital for days on end, his body recovering from the poison his mother left him with, and his father was there almost every day even though he had to work to pay the hospital bills. After what felt like forever was he allowed to be discharged, going back to the same refurbished apartment that they lived in, but after seeing how Callum had recurring nightmares and trauma attached to the place, they decided to move to Pennsylvania. A hard decision that needed to be made as his father would put it.
Everything after the whole incident was better for Callum. His father got a job as a mover, still doing some part-time work here and there, and Callum did his best in school so as not to burden his father with more work. Even though they lived in a rundown shack handed to them by one of the locals, they didnāt mind as they knew that getting to live at all was better than what they had before.
Callum smiled in the abyss as he reminisced about his time with his father. He was a great man, a good role model for anyone who came across him. He is kind-hearted and considerate, a hard worker that makes him popular among his peers. It was them that helped move him and his father out of New Jersey and found them a place to sleep in, teaching Callum that socializing and connecting with like-minded people goes a long way when someone needs it.
For the next few years, Callum lived happily. Though there were some ups and downs, he and his father got through it, which is why the memory of his time in university was depressing.
Eric, after having saved some money, gave Callum the go-ahead to enroll in a university in California. But after attaining an athletic scholarship in football, Callum gave his father a surprise to ease his worries and stress. Callum felt bad every time he saw his father work, hence why he tried his hardest to take some of that workload to give him a break. With the tuition being lowered with the scholarship, Callum could give the rest of the money back to his dad. A gesture that was fully gratified as his father had a hard time letting him go when the time came to move over to the university. But it was during this time that tragedy struck.
It was his fourth year in studying anthropology when he heard the news from one of his fatherās friends, Robby. After hearing it, he grew distressed and worried, taking a lot of convincing from Robby to keep Callum from moving back to Pennsylvania.
His father has gone missing. The news had spread amongst his co-workers and friends, and a search team was already being dispatched to find him. Even though Callum tried to keep his focus on studying, he couldnāt help but feel agitated as days went by without news of his father being seen. His mental state plummeted, and he grew withdrawn from reality as days turned to weeks, his father still gone.
He could still remember the times when he locked himself in the schoolās library, searching the web to find any news or reports of his father's whereabouts, but as he searched for days on end, only one thing kept popping up from the newsletters. His father, Eric Hurst Foster, went missing in his own home. There were no struggles in the house, the CCTV didnāt see him on any of the roads or stores in the town they lived in, he just seemed to have vanished into thin air.
The news ate away at Callum, and his friends that heād made during the time gave their support to keep him from spiraling out of control. However, even with their support, Callumās worries over his dad never went away, hence why he threw himself into work. Going to part-time jobs and studying is the only way to keep his mind from blowing. He did this until he finished university and found a job to stay afloat.
This went on for years until heās come to accept that his father may never be found. With nothing to ground him in their old home, he decided to explore the world, thinking that one day, he might find a lead to the whereabouts of his dad.
Months turned to years as he worked tirelessly in multiple jobs. From being a mechanic, electrician, cook, waiter, and many more to count, Callum went on a work frenzy. He made a plan to scour the states as a freelancer, living in his BMW pick-up truck that was given to him by one of his friends. He stayed in each state for a few months, meeting new people and making some friends along the way. They sent their well wishes to Callum as they knew that he was still trying to find his missing father.
Years went by as he made his way back to California. He had gone and explored every state, and yet no news of his father came to light. The case had gone cold, and it was up to Callum to find any clues to this mystery. His mind has told him to give up the search, and multiple friends have given him consolation as they knew that his father would never be found, but Callum persevered.
It was during this time that he found himself as a mover, the same job that his father had before he disappeared. He had just come back to California after getting the job, and he was about to go check in for his first day when a sudden downpour of rain covered the skies of the city. It was only coincidental that he was near that coffee shop, and it was coincidental that only two customers were present there. He and his future girlfriend turned accomplice to his murder.
The rest of his memories went by as he continued to float in the abyss. From the time of their first years in a relationship to meeting Jake for the first time in that apartment to when he taught PE and History in a school in Minnesota. Everything went by as Callum went from one memory to another until he felt something.
A chill ran down his spine as an indescribable dread manifested in his mind. He knew not why he felt this way, and he felt himself tearing at the seams as a slit of light showed itself in the void. He was then pulled into the light, senses coming back after he spent his time in the abyss for what felt like days. And with a flash, he is back in the same hunched-over position he was in when he was stabbed in the back.
Callum canāt help but laugh as he finally could see again. Trees surrounded his vision, with wild grass carpeting the ground. But before he could truly see the world, he felt a sharp pain in his back. With his body remembering that he was injured, he felt himself sweat profusely as he bled, painting the flowers under him red. And yet he didnāt panic.
After all that time reminiscing, he finally gave in and let death come to him. He fell on his back, sending another wave of pain coursing through his body, cursing under his breath as he regretted not laying himself down slowly. And as he looked to the sky, he felt himself getting colder and colder.
Callum felt at peace as he stared at the clouds above him. The sound of the wind and the rustling of leaves helped him come to terms that he was truly dying. Heād thought about death a lot. During his time when he was a kid, and when he was depressed after his father went missing. But the peace he felt for only a few moments as emotions came crashing down.
He felt himself tear up as he came to terms with his current situation. He would never have a chance to marry the girl in his life. He would never have a chance to have his own children and see them grow. He would never have a chance to be a father. And he would never have a chance to grow old with the people he loved around him.
As he thought of these things, the floodgates opened. Streams of tears fell down his cheeks as he sobbed in his dying state. He could only put his hands over his eyes to stop it from flowing, an action that felt challenging as his body became fatigued from all the blood loss. The crying only hastened his death as he felt his breath escape him, his lungs labored and filled with blood as the stab had punctured it.
Minutes went by as Callum felt himself grow tired and tired. And as he closed his eyes, Callumās heart slowed and slowed as his body has a lack of blood to pump. His breathing grew shallower with each second until his body gave way and stopped altogether.
Callum died at the age of 34, stabbed in the back by his best friend with his girlfriend being an accomplice for his murder. He died from blood loss as his body colored the ground red.
Callum waited and waited to feel his consciousness fade as he welcomed death to greet him. And as the second grewā¦

To maximise the chances of not needing to apply for the advance we waited for our 4 weekly tax credit payment to arrive.
The process in general actually seemed pretty straight forward but unfortunately we are a bit stuck at trying to confirm identity. As we are both in receipt of carers allowance (one child each) and do not currently work we lack all the workslip and hmrc related ID.
We have driving licenses which is one but my question is what constitutes "credit references or records ā for example, information about credit cards or phone contracts"? It's possible we may have something for this. We do not have a regular mobile phone contract (Lebara uswitch deal paid via PayPal) But we do have a couple of credit accounts with PayPal and very, could we use a statement from those?

I'm a software engineer. We are having a mini conference type thing at my work this week where there are multiple 90+ minute meetings per day where people present on various topics and then we discuss possible ways to solve problems related to those topics.
It is pure torture. The sitting still for that long (not that I'm "still" I'm constantly fidgeting), the futile efforts at sustaining attention on the conversation while my thoughts go on tangents, mostly related to feeling bad about not paying attention (but also of things like the shapes of the letters on the whiteboard and the fact that my coworker's toenail is pointy?! and why does he have to wear flip flops lol). The pretending that I know what people are talking about and the imposter syndrome that accompanies it. Trying to stay awake. Being around people constantly.
Three more days of this. At the end I come home so drained I want to cry but just veg out on the couch all evening watching shows.
Ok vent out of the way, does anyone have advice on how to handle "events" like this? Ideally I'm looking for strategies on how to be able to actually participate, but even advice on how to just make the experience less excruciating would be helpful.
Also, I'm not actually diagnosed with ADHD but I'm wondering if I have it, partially because of experiences like this.

- Make sure that youāre on the same page when you meet someone!! Everyone has different timelines for this, but I think it should happen within the first few days of beginning to talk. Before getting into a relationship you should know if you both want long-term, if you want kids, ect.
- Always love, usually like. Love requires effort and commitment. To a point, it is a choice that you make when things get hard. If you have committed to your partner, you should choose to love them everyday. This does not mean you have to like them!!! They are a full other person in your life, and everyone can be annoying at times. Feeling like you always need to like or be attracted to or be flirty with your partner is stressful. Now, if you never like/are attracted to your partner, thatās a different issue. But generally, having a few days here or there where these things matter is totally normal!!
- Make time for eachother! This is the big one. Again about effort. If you want a relationship with them, you need to make time for them. Itās not as hard as it seems!! My partner and I met in university doing long distance, and we used to do homework while being on the phone with eachother just to make quality time happen. This might not be your style, but there are so many ways!! Call them on your way to work! Make a standing date night! Bring them lunch! Honestly, itās the little things that make you feel appreciated.
- It is the thought that matters behind the gift. A handwritten letter with their favourite chocolate and a thoughtful craft shows a lot more effort than a more expensive candle that they may not even like. Nothing is enough, not my friends, not my family, not my studies, not my hobbies, not exercising, not any new thing I try to do. Every day I feel more miserable, I've been in therapy and taking antidepressants for 3 years now but nothing gets better. The worst thing is that there is nothing "tangible" that is causing this, it is all in my head. I don't even feel sadness anymore, it's just a feeling of emptiness and and defeat. I've given up.
Throughout my life I have had several attempts, but I think this will finally be the one that ends all of this. I need to rest from myself, from the noise in my head. I have started writing goodbye letters to the people I love and it feels liberating to know that I will be leaving very soon.

At my hotel we have two entrances in our lobby. One is the front entrance that is by the loading and unloading area while the other is the back entrance that leads to the patio area. At night I have to keep the back entrance locked, guest keycards will not work on that door either. We have posted two giant signs in bolded red and black text stating this. The signs are right on the door at eye level however every single night I hear people jiggling and banging on that door trying to get in. Then when they finally realize that the door will not open, they come in through the front and complain that the door wonāt work.

Today I learned that Spotify has been occasionally downloading duplicates of some of the many Local Files on my playlist. This was brought to my attention by my phone telling me that my storage was nearly full and that there was over 30 GB of audio files. After a quick investigate I learned that Spotify downloaded a specific 221 audio files 24 separate times, equaling to about 24 GB of excess music downloads. The files would re-download occasionally when I had my phone and desktop Spotify open at the same time, but while I noticed, I figured it was some re-syncing process, or Spotify used temporary files or whatever. After looking into it, I noticed that these specific 221 were files that did not have an artist in their metadata and began to find the pattern behind why certain files work and others do not. When Spotify syncs the files, they get put in a directory that looks like the following (on Android (if you're on iOS I simply cannot help you, but it could be the same thing)):

If there is Title metadata, it will call the newly copied mp3 file by the Title. For example, if we had a song called "Garbage (Fire) Code" by Desperate Chunk off the album BEEF'S BEEF, the new file will be at ../Synced files/DesperateChunk/BEEFSBEEF/GarbageFireCode.mp3 omitting and spaces or special characters. This already could be the source of the issue as a Spotify entry on a playlist is definitely tied to the specific metadata of the exact file used when you add it to a playlist. That much is easy to see when changing the metadata of a song that is already in your Spotify local files folder. You'll get two copies that are NOT the same, which can easily cause a song to become unavailable. something something cache i think.
If the file does not have Album metadata, it will just plonk it in the [ARTIST] folder. However, if there is also no Artist listed, it will just put it in the /Synced files/ folder, continuing the same omission of special characters and spaces. If the file does not contain any metadata, it will be put in the /Synced files/ folder, applying the name of the mp3 but with the omission of special characters as its new title. It will then be re-downloaded any time you open desktop and mobile Spotify at the same time, likely because the file is completely renamed by the constant dropping of spaces and characters. Somehow, having an Artist listed stops the repeated downloads, although not the file becoming unavailable. It seems that if you have a file that obeys the following criteria, it will function properly as a local file that can be synced without issue:
BY THE WAY, this is all happening because Spotify is currently in the process of deprecating the Local Files sync feature entirely, as seen here. This honestly deeply saddens me as this feature was one of the big reasons I have enjoyed using Spotify for so long. It was occasionally seamless and I was glad that I had a way to have all of my music in one place. Now I have to set up manual syncing between my devices, which is going to be a pain, even if by the time I'm done it will likely work more consistently. My current plan is to use syncthing to ensure that the exact same audio files are being used without any of this file renaming, metadata butchering, subfolder creating nonsense. My issue there is I can't tell where the Spotify app even looks to find its """Local Files""" on my phone, as the ones that appear are just some random collection of mp3s, and only 50 of them, as opposed to the hundreds in my music folders on my phone, so I'm not entirely sure where to even put the synced folder. If you know, please tell me.
Anyway, this is mainly the semi-coherent ramblings of a madman, but I really needed to put this in writing somewhere, and I hope that someone else will see this one day and go "SO THAT'S WHY IT WAS SO FUCKED!" If you know more about the inner workings of Spotify, please confirm or deny my suspicions. I haven't done that much testing of my theory, so if I'm way off, tell me.
