My kids are now teens / young adults and I’m realizing that although I tried so hard to not be like my abusive mother, that my depression, low self-worth and occasional self harm (hitting myself in the head when really upset/ frustrated) have harmed my children. My mother was physically and emotionally abusive in childhood and very unpredictable and scary (she was diagnosed with BPD) and has been hospitalized for suicide attempts at least 7 times since I’ve been an adult. With my own kids, I’ve tried to do everything the opposite as her. I have never physically harmed them or called them names or tried to shame them. I did my absolute best to make them feel unconditionally loved and supported them in following any interest or dream. I was sometimes too permissive. But I also was not fully healed and was dealing with my own struggles with depression and CPTSD, and ADHD. When I did get frustrated and lose it and yell, I at least always made sure to apologize and tried to make sure they knew that my inability to regulate my emotions was not their fault. But then I would often go down selfish shame spirals thinking I was a failure and terrible mother. I tried not to let them see this side of me but they sometimes did. Yes, I’m in therapy and working on all of this and have made a lot of progress. But now my oldest daughter who is in college is in therapy herself and I’ve learned she mostly talks about me. She has agreed to a family session with me and it’s an opportunity for me to talk to her the way I was never spoken with — I can listen and not get defensive and try to own my mistakes the best I can and hopefully learn from them, and hopefully do better with her in the process. I’m just struggling realizing this now, how my own depression and seeing me cry impacted her. I haven’t seen a lot about adults with CPTSD as parents beyond young children. So I guess I’m just wondering if I’m alone in this… i’m not my mother, I have not inflicted the same trauma, BUT my own struggles still traumatized my children. I thought I was breaking the chain only to realize I may be another link in it, albeit a different one.

Disgust is such an interesting emotion
It's something from experience or memory, that I know is toxic.
It's not bad at all, it's a way we learn. What's harmful what's not
For example.
I find disgust an emotion I really want to investigate on. I get disgusted by so many things and culture etc especially the popular ones and the mainstream ones
To be more specific and personal
I am disgusted by vegans (soy boy face especially), because I was brainwashed by peta propaganda, when I was a teeny bomber, also when I was an internet influencer I used to hang out with those famous mainstream YouTubers who would make those soyface
To me anything mainstream is super disgusting yet I was always the one who makes being famous a part of my persona and I loved to be worshiped by the mainstream. My followers would make comments like hey you are very popular but you hate anything popular does that mean??? Yes it actually means I hate myself

When I was younger I used to say my favorite movie was shutter Island and similar psycho thrill movies, now I know why. I loved it that waking up from the dissociation the enemy or something I disowned and escape from is just my past and my trauma.

Years ago, I wrote a drabble series about side characters from a dramatic season finale. Each drabble was from the POV of a different character.
During a recent search of my Google Docs, I found a fragment of a deleted scene from another of my old stories. It’s from the POV of one of those side characters, who was the catalyst for the events of my story, but only appeared in one scene. Most of the fic was focused on the MCs trying to find a solution to the crisis created--inadvertently--by that character. I wondered if I should complete it and add it on as an additional chapter.
Then I had a brainstorm. I’d finish that scene and make it part of a separate sequel story, and then jump forward to the time of a recent episode. I could figure out why that character would be there and what his reactions would be to the new crisis. Now, the events of the first story are linked to an episode that aired 17 years ago. I found myself wondering how old the character would be in 2023. I thought I’d do what I normally do in such cases—go to IMDB.com and look up the age of the actor.
And then I remembered that this character was an OC I created, and that there was no actor. Oops!
Anyone else ever forget that their OC was an OC?

My husband and I brought home a new puppy 3 days ago. We currently have two dogs who had a great routine. One is a high energy herding breed (2years old) and the other is an older mix breed with lower energy (10 years old). The puppy growled at the older dog (who growled at her first) and now I’ve spiraled down a worry hole that our life is overuined.None of the other dogs seem interested in each other, and I’m so worried if we don’t fix the growl then they will be doomed to hate each other.
All three are girls, and the other two took to each other so quickly (we got the 2 year old as a puppy!)

Does it take a bit for dogs to warm up? Is that normal and we’ve just never experienced normal?

I ditched bras last December because I have sensitive skin + it's just much more comfortable for me. I've mostly been wearing thick sweaters and cardigans through the cold, so no one is able to tell. For summer, I'm planning on wearing tees and tank tops, which means that me being braless is going to be much more noticeable.
For guys on here, do you care when you see women go out braless? Is it something you notice?
For women, when you go out braless do you get stares and weird looks?

I want to starting lifting 3 days a week Monday, Wednesday and Fridays and do full body workouts.
My question is do I do the same exact work outs to hit the same muscles each day I go or do I change it up for between the days?
So would it be for a very quick example:
Monday: - Dumbell bicep curls - Tricep rope extensions
Wednesday: - Same as Monday
OR
Monday: - Dumbell bicep normal curls - Tricep rope extensions
Wednesday: - Dumbell hammer curls - Dumbell skull crushers
I’m aware that as time goes on and my body gets use to it I’ll have to switch things up, but as a start I’m looking for a sense of direction.

On Saturday I was walking with my friend to our Uber after dinner in Bondi as a group of guys looking aged mid 30s mutters “why don’t you guys kiss” (we are two females locking arms as it was cold & couldn’t see well as it was dark in uncomfortable shoes).
As we kept walking shocked & confused at these men saying this to us, I turned my head behind to say “your charming” just in instinct as a sarcastic bite back, I couldn’t help myself I was in shock.
The group of 4 men then started to walk closer to us laughing until they caught up with us & one of them blocked my walking path grinning then started trying to talk to us, when I said awkwardly we are trying to leave to get our Uber, he muttered at me “fuck you, you bitch you should be inside with the kids anyways”. Mind you I had a big 21st birthday sash on me as it was a celebration dinner for my birthday the prior week.
Some of his friends awkwardly chuckled & they walked away but as he walked past he shouldered me really hard to the point I was pushed aside as he walked off & slurred oh sorry?
My friend was crying at this point & we were both in such shock.
We are so scared to go out at night now & I don’t know what the right thing to do is, do we report it to the police as a verbal assault or intimidation? Would they be able to identify him with cctv? Or is it pointless & we just stay scared now when we are walking anywhere at night?

i had a flashback to watching this music video like 8 years ago and i cant figure out what it is at all and its driving me crazy. Good day to y'all dear folks! I am currently looking for interested (and dedicated) programmers to finish a game i have been working on for the past 3 months. It is a stickman 4 player local coop beat em up inspired by classic beat em ups like Streets of Rage, Double Dragon, and even Mortal Kombat 1-3 (know it's a fighting game, absolutely love them). The main unique detail of the game is its big amount of animations,making it appear less tiring to players eyes and more varied when it comes to EVERY single action in game (you jump kick an enemy - there are various reactions to that particular hit). So far I made over 1200 animations of all kinds, including casual ones (enemy is stretching his back/ enemy is wiping blood off his nose/reloading his fists Henry Cavil style), 4 soundtracks, some cutscenes, story and characters personalities, and was going to start working on sound effects like voice grunts and similar things soon as well. The game has executions (fatalities on stunned enemies, there's 20 made so far), bones breaking x-ray traumas (broken nose, eye socket, skull, etc.), quick and heavy attacks, charged heavy attacks, jumping attacks, grabs (moving with grabbed enemy, directional throws (up/down and left/right,4 directions), heavy grab moves, grab attacks, grab back attacks, ability to kill an enemy by throwing them off the platform), air grabs (takedown turning into full mount stance), soccer ball kicking enemies off the ground and many other things. Also, I have a working prototype/project (Godot) made by a previous programmer I worked with. Anyone feeling interested - please dm me and let's team up!

I am near the end of finishing my Associates Degree and scheduled to graduate this fall but I have one last free elective to choose for my last term. I personally was looking at getting into I.T. Support for a while and I was thinking this course might beneficial. Has anyone taken this course? What is your guys thoughts? How difficult was the class? Is there anything else you suggest?

I get that people need to make money but in Olaya there is an ever increasing number of aggressive window washers at the traffic lights. Yesterday two started washing my windscreen despite me motioning no.
Out of pity. I gave one 5 SAR. The other guy came round to the drivers side and started gesturing and shouting . I don't really carry much cash and was honestly out and told him thar but he got angry and shouted and banged the door and window. I don't mind giving to people in need but feel that this is intimidating and actually a bit scary, especially for women. This was on King Fahad Road, at a junction where several police cars sit so I take it that soliciting like this is fine in the polices view?

I'm super picky when it comes to single player games, but I've started to really enjoy them. I'm definitely more story driven when it comes to what I like, like the new God of War games or Baldur's Gate 3. Those ones in particular I absolutely loved. I tried Star Wars fallen order and Horizon Zero dawn and couldn't become invested enough in the story to continue playing after the first few hours. I'm considering AC Odyssey and Valhalla now, primarily Odyssey, and Hades as I do enjoy the mythology aspect. Would I like either of those? Or are there any others with great stories? Newebetter graphics is always a plus too.

I have recently moved homes and 'tried' to declutter my makeup and beauty items , but didn't do as well as I'd hoped. I was hoping to sell more palettes I no longer like but found it almost impossible (especially as now FB has repeatedly tried to kick me off marketplace for selling ever so slightly touched/ used eyeshadow that's easily made hygienic, and i see others selling used items still ) I wish I had a relative / friend who liked colourful makeup to give my products too.
I NEED to try and play with makeup more or it will take me 3 lifetimes to use up ' just' my eyeshadow collection. I THINK I have close to 60 palettes at the moment which isn't half as much as some YOUTUBERS but they get lots for free and have to test them out for their content to get views. I just like the pretty colours.

So ... Are 3 point discs and I guess discs in general just outrageously expensive compared to a few years ago? Even the used market? I talked to a couple guys who have been around and they all say "you should be able to find one for a couple hundred bucks" but there is nothing out there around me that isn't about to turn into a pile of dust for under like $1,500. So, just as I've got Ozempic (well the compounded version) and just started to lose weight, Australia decides to ban the compounded versions from October...
With the world-wide shortages off the branded Ozempic, is there anything I can get that is the same and does the same that is trustworthy and Australian Gov approved?
I have tried saxenda and it just didn't work too well for me. My doctors aren't keen on me having anything else - one lets me know how hard it is for diabetics to get Ozempic, the other wants me to go to therapy and get to the "root cause" of why I think I need to lose weight.
Also, if anyone has any tips on how to maximise my results and keep them when I come off the meds? I can't afford the gym nor do I have the confidence (or energy).
Like, I'm 25, 90kgs, pre-diabetic, fatty liver, high cholesterol and PCOS - losing weight will help ALL of that yet nothing I've done and tried has helped and stuck! Next thing is going to be make me gain hella fat, so they let me have surgery!
