Ordered a new Westinghouse WGen12000c a few weeks ago during the Texas sales tax abatement weekend, picked it up Saturday May 11th. Got it out of the crate, ran it for an hour to make sure it would start. Called the electrician and the earliest both our calendars aligned was Thursday the 16th to drop in an inlet port and interlock.
Thursday morning comes, he gets the port wired in but ordered the wrong interlock. I order up a 50a cable from Amazon to be delivered the next morning and then
All hell broke loose.
Storm hit Houston Thursday night, we lost power at 6pm and it stayed out for 96 hours. Ran fridge, freezer and a couple box fans off extension cords until I scrounged up a 50a cable Sunday morning and got the A/C running. That generator ran about 80 of the 96 hours, first at 20% capacity but by the end it was pushing 100%. Burned about 80 gallons of gas, I didn’t keep a good count.
I’m more amazed that the timing came together so perfectly.

Hey all! Michigander here but I have some family that live in the Lake Jackson area. We’re planning on making the drive Sunday for Memorial Day and this is my first time visiting your city! All my family in Texas has been but my grandparents, mother, and I have never been so I’d love any recommendations for food or things to do! Hello, I am a college age violinist in the Houston Texas area who needs a bit of help with rates. I'm changing rates right now since inflation obviously went super high, and not only that but I have not gotten many serious students + I have gained significant skill lately. Some (not too personal) information for me is:
College age, committed to UH performance major but accepted into Juilliard, UT, and UNT all for performance, roughly 4 years of teaching experience already, positions as concertmaster, lead violinist in several ensembles like musicals (and general ensemble performances), and many many general performances with these same positions and ensembles, including solo performances for weddings, retirement homes, and professional settings where I also won the state distinguished performer award (2% of state UIL performers received it I think?). I have not yet done super notable competitions, but for extra info, I am playing/have performed solo works from Paganini, Wieniawski, Saint-Saens, Tchaikovsky, and a ton of major orchestral works like the Fledermaus, Shostakovich 5, Academic overture and I also am working on personal compositions to perform solo as well. Worth mentioning my students and people I've tutored here and there are all in/participated in their high schools varsity orchestra, region orchestra, and TMEA All-State orchestras. Any help would be great, just trying to be fair to myself and others 😭 Sorry for the long paragraph!

I live in Houston Texas. To make a long story short, I was sitting in my running car at a mechanic shop and a cop pulled up behind me and had his lights on. When he came to my window, I asked him how his day was and he responded by asking for my ID. I asked him what crime he suspectied me of commiting, he repeated himself and I repeated myself. This went on two more times. He then opened my door and told me to step out, he threatened to tase me and grabbed my wrist and pulled me out leaving the car door open.
He put me in the back of his car and on the way over, he informed me my plates came back stolen.When his two other cop buddies got there, they looked through my car and another officer leaned into his passenger seat and he entered the car again, they discovered the license plate was for a different make and model AND in a different state.
They let me out of the cuffs and that was that. I have his badge number, I called his supervisor and went to the police department and requested the police report, filed a complaint against him and asked for the FOIA Request Form for all body cam footage pertaining to the incident.
I guess my questions are: Is this a lucrative case? What type of lawyer should I get in contact with? Should I get all the evidence and info before contacting a lawyer? We're my civil liberties violated? Is it possible to get a lawyer pro Bono, or does that just depend on the lawyer?
How should I go about this?

Houston Texas here, I live on a pretty old lot that wasn’t well maintained, trying to get a yard that I’m not scared of.
First, I’m thinking of using masonry sand to level out some of the dips. Pretty much directly under the St. Augustine sod is clay. I’ve heard conflicting arguments about sand and clay. Either sand helps break up the clay or it turns it into impenetrable concrete.
If the latter is true, would the risk be mitigated by blending the sand with a screened compost or topsoil?
Also, we’ve got areas where either crabgrass or nutsedge have really taken hold over the spring and I’m preparing to hit it with sedgehammer and quinclorac. Should I give it a week in between applications?
After the herbicide is it crazy to seed Bermuda grass in the heat of June? I want to fill in the spots where the St. Augustine died and eventually work toward replacing the whole lawn over the next couple years. I live in a poorer neighborhood where most lawns look rough anyway so I’m not trying for perfection I just want it to be serviceable.

• I certainly wouldn’t do it for such paltry amounts of money. (i.e., anything less than $1,000 per victim.)
• I certainly wouldn’t choose high school & college students as my “target audience” to scam, considering that most people without college degrees have abysmally low annual incomes. Why choose low-income victims when it would be much more profitable to target high-income, high-net-worth individuals earning at least six figures a year? I have knowledge in business consulting, and I promise you that a business owner would be a MUCH more lucrative mark than a low-income college student.
• I wouldn’t choose such a time & energy-draining method of scamming people. Also, communicating back and forth with potential clients is an absurdly long time sink since only less than 10% of all potential clients who reach out to me actually become paying clients of mine.
