I recently got diagnosed with an autoimmune disease (Grave’s Disease) by my doctor. With this, I have to take medication to help manage my thyroid levels. The medication is on the approved medication list, but has the caveat “condition like requires special issuance”. I know the FAA is picky on when to report things immediately or waiting until your next medical. I did talk to my local AME and he recommended reporting it so that it shows I’m not hiding anything.
Also, my medical expires in 2 years. Does it make sense to report it and see what they say or just get a new medical so the FAA can request more information?
Lastly, if I do report it before my next medical, how do I do that? Am I grounded until I hear back or is it up to the pilot’s discretion if they feel adequate to fly in the meantime?
Also want to note that my symptoms are just hunger, heat intolerance, and sweatiness. So nothing that directly impacts my ability to fly and I feel good.

I am sick and tired of not progressing. I turned 25 last week. For the last 2-3 years I’ve been trying (very inconsistently) to achieve financial freedom.
I want to be able to quit my day job, that’d mean having an income of around 1300€/month on my own. (Right now my extra income is of around 200€/month)
Most of the time I loose time scrolling, just to finish the day with a 100 tasks sitting on my mind (and notebooks) that I know could help me progress or develop my health.
The truth is that I currently suck big time at being responsible for myself. I am EXHAUSTED.
However every day I show up at work, and at every job I’ve had I’ve been really good at.
I feel like I need: a) a super clear to do / path b) something to own it to to be responsible and do the work.
I am also so good at helping people plan, organize, brainstorm and at seeing the bigger picture for a project. So here again comes my question.

We at The University of Salford are conducting an experiment which is part of a project all about the design of algorithms that create electric motorcycle sounds, and we could do with some volunteers!

What is the purpose of this study?
The study is part of a project exploring and evaluating the design of algorithms which synthesise alert sounds for electric motorcycles. Traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles are commonly loud, with a distinctive sonic character. However, electric vehicles can be significantly quieter. As such, we are investigating the design of synthetic sounds for electric motorcycles for both safety and aesthetic purposes.

Who is running the study?
The study is run by researchers from the University of Salford in the UK, in collaboration with a commercial partner.

What will happen to me if I take part?
You will be asked to complete an online survey using the link provided at the bottom of this post. You will have the right to withdraw at any time or ask for your data to be deleted for any reason.
If you choose to take part online, you will be asked to complete the survey at your convenience. However, we ask that you use headphones to audition the sounds and to take care to make sure that the sound levels are comfortable.
In this phase of the study you will be presented with the sound of an ICE vehicle. This sound may be a recording of a real vehicle or may be a simulation of an ICE.
After listening to each audio sample, you will be presented with a list of 7 scales with opposite words at extremes of the scale (e.g. “fast” and “slow”) and asked to rate the sound on each of the scales. You will be able to listen to each of the sounds as many times as you need.

What are the eligibility criteria?
Participants must be at least 18 years old.

What are the possible disadvantages and risks of taking part?
This study has been reviewed and granted approval by an ethics panel at the University of Salford.
There are no consequences for you if you decide not to take part, or later choose to withdraw your responses. You do not need to give a reason for non-participation or withdrawal.

What are the possible benefits of taking part?
The findings from this study will help us better understand how people respond to different types of engine sounds. This will help us develop acoustic alert sounds for electric motorcycles, which will likely be beneficial for pedestrian safety and to improve the soundscapes of the future.

Will my data be stored securely?
The collected data will be stored only on secure servers provided by the data collection service (Gorilla) and on password-protected university asset computers and University of Salford IT network. We will not collect any identifying characteristics such as name or address and all your responses will be anonymous. Because of this, once you have submitted all of your responses, we will not be able to identify you and withdrawing your data will not be possible.
Anonymised data will be kept as long as considered necessary by the research team to support further analysis and publication; it may also be used in future projects.

What will happen to the study results?
The findings from this study will be used to inform future research and product development related to this topic. The results will be written up in an internal report, will be shared with project stakeholders, and may be published in conference papers or academic journals. Any information made available in this way will be strictly anonymous i.e. we will never publish anything that could identify a response as coming from you personally or show that you have taken part in this study.

🔍I had pretyped this just ranting then I realized i can post it anonymously here bc i’m really struggling and would like some outside advice human to human feels like i’m gaslighting myself lol. They have supported me and given me everything I need materialistically and do what they are supposed to as parents in that aspect I am very grateful and appreciative of that. in no way shape or form will I ever complain ab them giving me food, shelter, clothes etc. I’m not seeking to be coddled or get sympathy either i just need to know if it really is that bad or am I tripping.
🔬emotionally manipulative & guilt tripping parents will be their own demise. lol. finally dropping that mask you have with them, making them look at themselves and see the torment i had to mentally internalize & take on over the years > sitting back & letting them continue their behavior and control to keep destroying your identity & self continuing to deal with immense shame, guilt, sadness, and anger because you know how they are and you think theres no point in opening up to them or telling them what they do wrong bc they always do the same shit & continue to blame you for everything. note this though when I finally released all my years of internalized emotions on them and started texting them very knowledgeable shit about themselves, how they treated me, my mom trying to control and ruin me and my girlfriends relationship when we first got together (+ we have continued to be together for 1yr and 3 months still going strong she ain’t ruin shiiiit) & shit talked my gf for no reason at all. When I started texting paragraph after paragraph (+ texting them back and forth.) I was met with my mom thinking something isn’t right regarding my mental health and telling my dad and brother she thinks something is wrong with me again (she was surprised how I could speak so knowledgeable bc I barely even interact with them anymore) them texting my phone asking if everything is okay and they are worried ab me (she’s also made many comments before this situation like “you seem like you need to get back on ur medication you’re being irritable” etc when clearly that was the correct response to some fucked up comment she made i’m sick of that shit.) (sorry that was lowkey irrelevant but holy shit). them throwing what they do for me as PARENTS in my face, blame shifting, manipulation, lying, her saying she has no acknowledgment of ever treating me like that over the years, trying to ruin our relationship, or saying any of the vile shit she said about my gf. THEN she loves to do this the most playing the victim card “you’re abusing me” “it feels like you are abusing me” “we feel like we can’t say anything right we are always walking on eggshells around you it’s exhausting” she knows damn well I’m not abusing her in any way shape or form that’s disrespectful to many people who actually had to go through and endure actual abuse. “do you want to hurt us? is that your goal” “you’re destroying the family” “you’re destroying our marriage” etc literally used to be all the timmmme when i was going through sh and stuff too. i didn’t do anything wronggggg all I did was speak up for myself FOR ONCE (bc it’s been YEARS) ab the shit she does and how i’m not okay with it i internalize literally everything (that’s y it took years. just sick of their shit idk what to do). low and behold after all that expressing I get met with all that blame shifting and lying. the reason why i never open up to her is bc when I do ever since i was little she always blamed me and made it seem like this whole other thing so hell yeah i’d rather internalize then talk to her that’s a way better option than getting met with guilt tripping and shit what else could I do but internalize n doing that fucked my head up BAD. there are MANY more examples of what else she would say and my dad too but i really think he’s brainwashed by her so idk that’s just off the top of my head .. lmao. she makes me feel so insaneee i even feel like i’m exaggerating and making a big deal n being too sensitive writing all this😵‍💫. there’s SO MUCH more context but fuck all that i typed enough. thx for coming to my ted talk🕷️.

I hope this is the right place to put this - my character will be soon levelling to level 9, and with 6 levels in sorcerer and 2 already in bard I need to choose a bard subclass.
We have been playing in the Odyssey of the Dragonlords setting - Arcanum World's campaign - for about 3 and a half years now. For those unfamiliar, it is an Ancient Greek-themed world that sees you become a dragon rider and fight some evil gods - classic DnD stuff.
The party consists of a chronomancy wizard (broken as hell), a gorgon oath of ancients paladin, and my character: a shadow sorcerer changeling with a few levels in bard. Our DM has been incredible at facilitating where we want our characters to go, and I have managed to make my sorcerebard a very effective gish. My character has a solid AC because of some mithril armour (boosted by Haste and shield), an amulet of health, and a dancing sword (bonus action attack). We replaced the hound of ill omen level 6 sorcerer feature with the hexblades charisma attack/ damage feature so my melee skills are pretty good. This combined with the amulet of health and AC means I can fight effectively in the centre of battle and hold my own with the paladin: throwing out fireballs and bonus action slicing people with th dancing sword.
If I was power gaming I would have levelled into paladin, got some smites and called it a day. However, my character is in love with the goddess of music and so bard made a lot of thematic sense, and also gave me access to the very powerful 'boreal harp' which has access to control weather, conjure animals, levitate etc.
With the upcoming level up, I am going to need to choose a bard subclass, and I am completely stumped. The option I have been thinking about for a while is College of Swords (my DM has agreed to tweak this so the flourishes can be used a number of times equal to my proficiency bonus rather than only use bardic inspiration). This change would make it way more viable, but I am worried about it becoming less useful down the line. Another option we discussed is College of Creation, which may be more useful for allies but cut down on how much damage I can do. College of Valor seems really boring and kind of useless. College of Eloquence would be cool but would end up not really fitting into the party aesthetic - it would end up with a bit too much main-character energy.
I am open to homebrew if it makes sense; we are playing to have fun, so as long as it seems engaging and interesting, we tend to run with it. The shadow magic of my character has flavoured all aspects of their magic: fireballs are black flame, misty step has me stepping into the shadows, inflict wounds is some form of shadowy poison, etc. If I do go with swords, how could I flavour it to feel in line with the character's darker magic as well as the Greek setting?
The intention is to resume levelling sorcerer after this level so I really only need to worry about level 3 bard characteristics. Any advice would be amazing.
