So I recently started playing again and the amount of bugs I've been encountering is ridiculous.
In 4 hours alone I had 1 game freeze and crash, 1 pelican wouldn't land, 2 game breaks where reinforce wouldn't work, 1 game freeze with no crash. Unable to interact with an item, and unable to interact with war map on friends ship.
7 bugs in 4 hours is a bit much, especially since most of the time it happens towards the end of a mission nullifying all effort and wasting close to 30 minutes of my time. I put the game down yesterday because I just couldn't be bothered to risk 30 minutes of my time to a game breaking bug.
Also seeing there is no patch does not bring me any joy.

Hello to all Minecrafters, and condolences to the rest. Six months ago I dreamed of some game that combined everything best from Rust, Minecraft and civilization. And I found something similar called Eco (I actually recently learned about this game). Recommend me some server that has everything from this game: economy, mandatory interaction between players, some common goal to complete the game (level up science, build a rocket and go to the moon), unification into states, conflicts, wars and the like. Preferably with a separate client and modpack installed.

Hello everyone, currently running without GPU, I have a B550m Dsh3 motherboard, a Ryzen 5 5600g, and a 80+Bronze 230V power supply with power of 550W and input voltage of 200-240V 47-63hz. I also have 16 GB of ram.
Im aiming at gaming on 1080p with the door open to 1440p, my graphics card choice would be the RX 6700 XT 12gb, but I have been thinking and I have a couple of doubts...
-Am I overdoing it with the choice of GPU?
-Wouldn't there be more cheaper and less powerful cards available and suitable for me?
These doubts come because, while I really prefer to have a good card to run all, I really don't have much time to play games these days. At most one hour per day with ocassions in which I get more than that. I love playing video games and there is a world of games waiting for me that I cannot enjoy because I cannot run them, games like IL-2 Great Battles, Hell let Loose, Ready Or Not, Six Days In Fallujah, War of Rights, DCS,... Maybe I'm aiming too high and should perhaps look into something that can run those on 1080p on medium-high and be happy about it.
Do you guys have any suggestions keeping in mind the games mentioned and the issue stated?

I mean come the fuck on. It’s massively MULTIPLAYER. And yet all the parties and alliances have dead chats. Why do you people join groups to never talk or socialize. It’s a multiplayer game not single player yes you can play alone. If you wanna do that then stay alone. Why come into groups to be some shy guy? I never understood that. A game where you can upgrade ur weapons up to god looking ones, fire looking swords and dark looking swords, and once you maxed up your weapon ur basically unkillable and a god in the game, a really repeatable game, i searched god of war to find that game when i was a kid so probably close to that name, + i used to play it in a 4.0 version of our ipad. I see a lot of people complain that people taking the game "to seriously" and doing "to well". Especially in turf war and splatfest as if it is our fault Ranked mode was disabled.
I am over level 300, let me make this very clear. WE CAN'T GO EASY ON YOU. Honestly, how do expect people to do so... Turn our reaction time down? Play upside down? Miss on purpose? The only thing I can honestly think of is using bad weapons on purpose, or backing up during an advantages moment. The first I don't want to do because I like chainsaw and bow (it would also leave me at a bad spot when I'm not in an unbalanced game). The second, well I'm sure my team would love for me to throw battles :)
Every now and again you will find people who can put you in your place and show you every weakness your weapon has and them some. If your not prepared to do the same to your enemy, they are not going to suddenly forget your weapons weakness. The high X rank players are not going to forget how to aim or dodge just because you want to play power was simulator.
Point is, if you end up getting pushed back to spawn and I don't want to risk your team getting momentum back... Your not leaving anytime soon.

I remember reading an article a very long time ago saying that George Lucas originally wanted Starkiller’s love interest (Juno) to be his cousin, but the game developers weren’t too keen and rewrote them to be unrelated.
Well I randomly remembered this article and went to search for it, except suddenly I can’t find any mention of it ANYWHERE. I vividly remember reading about it, but there’s nothing I can find online that even suggests they were originally intended to be related. Am I going insane? Did George Lucas scrub it from the internet? Please tell me someone else remembers this and I didn’t just dream it up

There are at least 2 major angles to this discussion as I see it on TwitteReddit:

1. There are people who are like actually media illiterate and cannot pick up on themes and messaging the author intended for a story. This includes those who say that the director of Starship Troopers didn’t intend the film as a over-the-top satire of fascism, and people like my conservative dad who is a huge Star Trek fanboy but doesn’t see/ignores the left wing messaging. This is fairly straightforward, so there is less to say about it beyond needing to better educate and equip people to understand messaging in media. Being able to see what the author intended is important (and how the author’s intention can be different from your personal interpretation). A lot of the conservative former friends I grew up with would say “stop overthinking it, it’s just entertainment” when these ideas are pointed out.
   
2. There are people who claim that someone is media illiterate for interpreting or enjoying a story through a lens they disagree with. This includes those who can clearly see what the author is saying, disagrees with them, but continues to engage with the story or enjoy the piece of media regardless. An example could be a liberal playing and enjoying a thoroughly communist video game like Disco Elysium despite knowing that DE is extremely critical of liberalism. Personally, I’ve been called out online for being a member of the US military while also being a fan of the Metal Gear Solid series, since someone who truly “got” Metal Gear would be more anti-military I guess. There are also those who proclaim that their personal interpretation of media is the only correct one and everyone who disagrees lacks media literacy, which is a stance I see more on the Far Right and Far Left.
   

What are your thoughts on these ideas? How do you prevent online “discourse” from ruining your enjoyment of things?

Hey guys, I've played this game before, got past the Fell Omen and did a bit of exploring but had little fun. Due to the vast amount of content it felt like I had to consult online guides every couple minutes, to optimiye my build, pick up hidden weapons.....it was "elden ring by the numbers" and felt like a chore
I'm.tempted to reinstall and play without guides. Just walk around and see what to do. Is that feasible?

I just started playing the game, and the online invasions are ridiculous, like how on eath am I supposed to kill a guy that has an exploding rounds and can order an armored vehicle?.
Is there any like matchmaking system or something, because otherwise am not interested in turning on invasions.

I mostly play online competitive games like LoL. The problem is the sudden power interruption sa lugar namin. We do have a backup powerbank that we use just for the router but kailangan pa ilipat yung cable and it takes 3-5 minutes for the router to restart. And I think we know that those 3-5 minutes is crucial for these games.
Can you recommend UPS or mini UPS that can keep a router running for at least 1 hour? Yung pwede sanang 24/7 na sya nakasaksak sa outlet. Thanks.

So I played Astral Chain over 2 years ago and loved it, I’m gonna break down why the game is so great.
Story: Astral Chain has the best story I’ve seen in any platinum game, period. Mgr and Bayo 1 are some of my favourites but those games stories are good in a way that feels somewhat ironic. Mgr is a huge satire, the actual plot of the game is very simple and not all that engaging, instead it feels more like a commentary than an engaging narrative. Bayo 1’s story is so weird and incomprehensible that it ends up being great through how wacky it is. Astral chain though, its story is just good. Not fantastic, but good. The characterisation is actually present, the character arcs are interesting, there’s mystery, emotional moments, and very subtle themes throughout its writing. Astral chain is probably (except god of war) the best crafted narrative I’ve seen in a character action game (even if it isn’t the most memorable).
Gameplay: to be honest, calling astral chain a character action game doesn’t feel too warranted. This is a game with a lot of different gameplay styles in comparison to its peers. Every level has open zones to explore, charming optional side quests (most do not affect your rank if you skip them). Any side content that does affect your rank is often combat focussed, or a mini game that is much better designed than anything you’ll see in bayonetta 1. You also have platforming sections, which are not a strong suit, but are at least engaging in my opinion, they employ your abilities in interesting ways and it never felt like it was taking up too much time away from the action. On top of all this, you of course have the platinum combat system, and it’s amazing. Various abilities, different customisations for your moves, the openness of combos (it feels amazing to air juggle an enemy as both you and your legion puppet kick ass together). The animations in this game are fantastic and every single weapon you get feels interesting and useful (despite axe clearly being the best legion). There are a BUNCH of enemy types, the boss battles are very good too (not mgr or Bayo level, but still very good), and I like how astral chain feels different to other action games. In astral chain, your health bar is very small, this is simply because you are playing as a human, you are not a demigod witch or cyborg powerhouse, so enemies can kill you very quickly. Enemies are therefore slower while dealing bigger damage, giving combat a higher stakes, more risky feel as opposed to a pure power rush (although of course you can still kick ass in this game, don’t get that twisted). Overall, astral chain is another platinum game that has gimmicks, which is what us platinum fans always complain about, but it is my opinion that astral chain implements these gimmicks in ways that are superior to its siblings - they are less frustrating and the ranking system is more generous (dying to an instakill on a motorcycle mini game will not affect your rank, you simply restart the checkpoint). Rankings also encourage creativity over perfection - you WILL get hit during combat, so the game doesn’t punish your for it too hard, instead it rewards big damage combos, and using as much of your toolset as possible.
Style: this is where astral chain falls slightly short and probably why it isn’t revered as much as Bayo dmc or mgr. all those three games have a sense of style that is incredible, Bayo is camp, dmc is also camp, and mgr is a satirical camp. All feel distinct and just infectious in their tone. Astral chain’s tone is more serious and less over the top (it still has some very funny moments though), and it wears its 90s cyberpunk anime influence (most notably evangelion) on its sleeve - this is definitely contributing to my love for the game. Despite its tone not being too memorable, the visuals are fantastic for a fast paced Nintendo switch exclusive action game. It has a cell shaded, anime cyberpunk art style that is simply gorgeous and honestly quite shocking in terms of how good this Nintendo game can look at times.
Conclusion: if you own a switch play astral chain. It’s awesome, oh and when you’re thinking about the best action games tier lists, keep astral chain in your thoughts. Ty for reading!
