Hi everyone. I'm very new to this. I'm just developing an idea of what I now realise I should have started years ago when I aspired to be a travel writer, but did basically nothing about it. Now I have a boring government job instead but get no satisfaction from it. Clearly I will keep doing this. But I've been doing a lot of hiking, camping, and discovering new and interesting little off grid sites for camping, glamping etc for the last couple of years. I'm in New Brunswick Canada. Anyhow I did my first little trip of the season this past weekend where me and the boyfriend booked an off grid tenting site at a place that has hiking trails, tenting and domes. We got lucky and got a free upgrade to a really unique off grid dome site. We loved it. He makes you tube videos, mostly comedy, and he made a video about it. That, teamed moreso with my love of exploring, and wanting to write a great review of the place, partly as a thank you to the owner but even moreso because it made me to want to share with people, it inspired me to take it one step further, and perhaps start blogging/vlogging about places like this.
Where to start? I want to make a video, with music over it, with some clips and photos of the place, and also do a write up. I'm thinking the video I could post on you tube (I don't have a page yet), with a link to the review, or, a first blog if you will.
I was thinking of creating a temp page to start, to post a couple of similar write ups on, and see how it feels. And then move it all to a better more permanent page.
What's the best way to start this? And should I post on you tube, with a link to the blog, and/or should I post my video on the blog? (I have software to create the video)
Any tips would be greatly appreciated, just even on how to do the above as a "tester"...and any other advice is welcome.

One thing I like about this subreddit is all the guest requests. But it sucks that they clutter the subreddit and then quickly get lost. I've seen attempts on here to keep this organized, but these attempts have limited adoption. And then as people forget they revert to old behaviors.
As an attempt to "fix" this and scratch my own itch, I developed a web app where fans of the show can nominate guests and vote for who they want to see on the show. It's in the early stages, but I'm open to developing it to fit this community's taste. Obviously having another account to log in to blows and is a barrier to adoption, so I added Google and Twitter logins to make it as painless as possible. Alas, a Reddit social login was not possible...

Firstly I want to thank ValorianPlays for giving me permission use their clips. I was about to edit and find all the clips myself which would've taken months.
The inspiration came when I wanted to look for clips from games I wasn't able to watch (China/Pacific mostly). I found it hard to find clips on YouTube without having to watch full highlight videos, streamer reactions, duplicate clips, etc. I only wanted unique raw clips without the extra fluff.
Then I also realized, if I want to rewatch a clip that happened wayyy in the past, there isn't really an easy way to do that besides trying to scavenge through YouTube.
So I built this website as a one-stop-spot to find all the clips you may have missed or want to rewatch! The main features are being able to filter by any event, game, team, or player. I also have a slider of the past 30 games if you quickly want to see clips from recent games (i'm most proud of this design :) ). I'm not very good at frontend-dev, and hate it lol, so it's a very minimalistic website but hopefully gets the job done.
We don't have EVERY single possible clip but plan to add more for Shanghai.
Please let me know what you think! Is this something that you would use? Are there any improvements that can be made? Also let me know if there are any bugs that you found. Im trying my best to make it mobile friendly, but as I said, I suck at frontend-dev lol.

 | Hello I just eay over paid for my project car I was not in the right state of mind when I made the purchase long story but I got lemoned but takenfull responsibility because I didn't check it out like I should have and ignored all the red flags...SMH So the engine runs great but has some major suspension issues and definitely something going on in the transmission or steering, probably both. I think it's leaking from the trans case. I already swapped all the fluids tht were advertised to be new absolutely not unknown what this guy did he took a dropper and put some new oil into thendipstick so it would look good. Wow... He seems to have used a lug nut impact on all the bolts that I can't and barely can get off with the reverse thread stripped bolt socket set. The oil plug was completely rounded off luckily I got tht out and and replaced it. I cannot get my impact to reach the filler bolt of the transmission and it's actually starting to strip now because I snapped a 3/8" extension with a ratchet and breaker bar. Hopefully I can remove the passenger tire and get a better angle at the filler screw but my impact still might not be enough to get it off if I can snap it with brute force. It's worth a shot and I'll guess I'll do it this Thursday hopefully I get it off and can replace it too. Also lucas transmission fix ina manual transmission?!bad idea or worth trying at this point. Thankyou for any information Any info on the unplugged harnesses and eiringing issues that were hidden of course A) the dangling harness from the drivers side? I Have since wire capped and tapes in the open end of wires. No noises or any indicators when I drive, there's one tube that hooks up to the sleeve of that blown out thing does anyone know what kind of tune that it for and why I can't find it on the right side. I'm guessing it doesn't lubricate anything cuz no drips. If it's a vacuum hose I pinched it off and everything seems good. I've taken some corners pretty aggressively was i risking something serious driving it like that? Would tht be a clsourse of a transmission leak? Plz don't beat me up too bad I'm harder on myself than anyone 🙏 |

Grimsmo Norseman #6654 - Third owner. Was originally anodized turquoise, but a previous owner had custom anodizing done by Valley Bladeworks. Was only ever disassembled to anodize. I've been a long time twitch viewer but recently can't catch live streams because of my work hours so I've been forced to become a VOD frog. It's actually been a decent experience since I can skip over the stalling and reacts and get right to the content I enjoy. This caused me to blow through Quin's W3 streams in a few days and was left with no more content which resulted in me scouring YouTube for old playthroughs.
I'm glad I did. I found Quin's Terraria zenith seed VODs and let me tell you this was peak quon content. So it got me thinking, what's chats favorite arc and why? Mine is without a doubt Terraria. Lots of rips, lots of dirt farming and fishing, and lots of clip-worthy action. Not to mention Quin raging at chat every 5 minutes and banning truth speakers.
Anyways I would love to hear what was your favorite Quon85 arc and why.

I used to not watch political content on YouTube. In 2017 I saw some of Steven Crowder's "Change My Mind" segments and I said "well I can't refute it, so he must be right" and made efforts to reorient my thinking to be more in line with his. Then in about 2019 I started seeing Vaush videos and said "wow he's even more difficult to argue with, he must he even more right" and reoriented my thinking again. He stopped regularly debating, and I stopped watching, and I don't watch too much of anything anymore, maybe a Destiny video here and there.
Anyway, I recently said to myself "that Alden's number clip was so funny, I should watch that again" but when I went to watch it, it wasn't. It only makes sense if you're already a fan of Vaush. Just like how Crowder's "impressions" are only funny if you're in on his joke and people who laugh with them feel like they know a greater truth, and Vaush's argument is only cogent if you're on his side and feel like you know a greater truth, how do I figure out if I'm currently just in an even bigger bubble of some kind ? I don't know if I was happier before I started watching people, I suppose all I can say about that time is that ignorance was bliss.

I made a small project using CustomTkinter and Pytube to download YouTube videos with a simple GUI.
the program has zero errors when run as a .py file in the IDE and Windows if I double-click or use the terminal.
I then proceeded to use auto-py-to-exe to convert the file into a .exe file. I followed the instructions on the CustomTkinter website and although I had some trouble I managed to get through the process.
the final .exe file, however, does run but only for a moment before closing itself again. By running the .exe from a cmd terminal based in the directory of the file I was able to get an error message:

Remember this? Should devs be thinking about another global hitscan nerf? Not necessarily a falloff nerf, just something to lessen the dominance of hitscan heroes, especially in ranked.
There is zero reason not to rotate Cass/Widow/Sojourn (depending on map and enemy team comp) in ranked if you have good aim. They take a quarter of the gamesense projectile heroes require and produce a ton of value.
Mei and Pharah have felt awful in ranked since hitbox changes and even the release of OW2. Mei lost a lot of agency with no freeze on her primary and she lost the headshot + bodyshot right click, so you have to double headshot to get a kill. Pharah is already hard when you play into a hitscan every game, and with the hitbox changes she now has to hit two direct hits AND an additional splash shot or her concussive blast (it should be noted this is not the case with a Mercy pocket). Even YZNSA, once a Pharah one-trick, doesn't play the hero anymore, He just goes Echo or Cass/Soj. Hanzo is just a worse hitscan.
In pro play, it's a little bit better. Echo is pretty common on KOTH and Genji gets picked somewhat often (we will see if this changes after the recent patch, I suspect he will be rare with dive looking more viable).
This has resulted in a major loss of skill expression. I know I'm quoting ancient history and players got much better, but in S1 OWL it felt like projectiles were on a similar level to hitscans. Junkrat was frequently played (even after his mine nerf he saw playtime on some maps). Pharah was a mainstay. Genji was super common. Even Hanzo saw some playtime. I'm not arguing that projectiles are unplayable in ranked--good players can get value on anything--but the level of effort required to get the same value on Pharah as a Cass with decent aim and his brain half-on is not even close.
