Howdy, I was and still arguably am new to the game. I wanted an excuse to get back outside and moving. So I thought I'd try out pokemon go.
Pokemon go has delivered more than I expected! I find myself out trying to grab pokestops, hunting pokemon, and doing raids. I really appreciate the community and it's acceptance and support for newbies. It's been a massive help!
Now I see lots of people trying to grab a ditto for their research. My advice is to catch everything. Also, keep an eye out where you normally spend time and the pokemon that spawn. There is a normal pool for pokemon that can spawn and in my experience if you see a pokemon that does not fit its a ditto or a zorua.
The TIL was I hate fighting grunts because I can't always figure out what type I'm battling. There's literally a question mark that says what type you'll battle and what its weak to. Now I also hate when I'm picking my pokemon for a battle, a gym, or a raid and I can't recall what each of my pokemon are built to fight. If you tap and hold the pokemon it'll show the MOVESETS for the pokemon! That was game changing for me!
I play in the suburbs. Spinning pokestops is a once a day thing and not exactly close. I traveled into a big city for holiday and my god, pokemon go plays so differently in a big city. It's honestly not fair. I maxed out my bag on pokeballs from 2 nights of walking around spinning stops, doing party challenges, and completing researches. Playing in the city goes crazy! Low key got me thinking if I need to move 🤣
Lastly it's nice diving back into pokemon after so long and in a format that's approachable for adults without the time or freedom of playing on consoles.
I still have some questions but I'm sure after 3 months I'll have figured some things out and developed even more questions hahaha
Tl;dr
catching ditto is a numbers game catch everything and prioritize anything that is out of place, so watch what spawns normally.
When you're about to battle a grunt in the team selection there's a question mark that tells the type you'll battle and what they're weak against. Also anytime you're selecting a team tap and hold a pokemon to see their moveset

I’m looking for a partner that’s down to play games, hang out, get close, etc if we hit it off. I play League of Legends (ARAM and Arena enjoyer), Pokemon, Yugioh, and much more! Of course, I would be more than willing to play games that you enjoy as well. Let’s avoid boredom together! I'm battling Melia and this battle is literally impossible. All of my Pokemon are at the level cap and every single move she has out speeds and 1 shots me. I can't get a single hit in on a single one of her Pokemon, and on the rare occasion I do outspeed one of her Pokemon, my attacks do basically 0 damage, even if it's super effective. Everything she has seems to be super effective against all of my Pokemon no matter what I have. I've loved this game so far but after 5 hours of trying this battle I'm about to delete it. What in the world am I supposed to do to counter her?

Just a bit of a rant. So today the ladies at the front desk of the lounge were only allowing Platinum members access because the lounge was "full". They turned away a bunch of gold tier members, those with vouchers, business class, etc etc and they were quite rude about it. I decided to wait in line in hopes of getting in with my gold status. After about a 30 minute wait, they finally accepted a couple gold members (I was one) who were waiting outside the lounge. When I got inside I was shocked - it was the emptiest I've ever seen that lounge before!!! There were open tables, chairs, lounge chairs, etc etc. How on earth was this lounge too full to accept more people and especially turn away gold tier members? I have a feeling it is more of a staffing issue and can possibly see them reducing access in the near future as the lounge wasn't really built that smart for that many guests.

Im stuck at platinum with 600mil in habs. 3.1 bil SE and 640 bil EB. I am f2p if that matters, cannot figure out how to make enough to get the last habs. All of the guides I looked at said I should have been able to do it.

Carlos looked up from his plate of succulent roasted meats and vegetables, all covered generously with a rich gravy, and raised an eyebrow at Amber. They were in Mayor Stelras's personal dining room, enjoying the service of his personal chef. "You know you do. You've read the letter yourself, what, a dozen times now?"
Amber set the letter aside yet again and took another bite of her own lunch. "Yeah, I know. It's just…" She shook her head and chuckled. "Out of all the things that happened the last few weeks, this one is somehow the hardest for me to believe is real. It's ridiculous. I know it's ridiculous. I've personally met and spoken with royalty! Kindar should be nothing compared to that! But, somehow… This is hitting me harder than anything."
Carlos nodded calmly. "Makes sense to me. The presence of royalty is completely new to you. It's huge and important, and far beyond anything you ever expected might happen, but the only thing you've experienced before that's different is its absence. You don't have any memories in the back of your mind telling you 'that's not how this is supposed to work.' For Kindar, you have a lifetime of memories telling you that he's more powerful and better supported than you are, and that you're mostly helpless against his bullying. Now that you're the one in power, and he's the one helpless against you, that's not just new, but contradicts a lot of your past experiences. Some part of you in the back of your mind is having difficulty reconciling the contradiction; it's like you have a subconscious voice shouting 'that's wrong; it's not how this is supposed to work!' For meeting Princess Lornera, that voice is only confused and surprised, not feeling like something's wrong."
"Hmm." Amber cocked her head and paused. She looked down and idly speared another forkful of tender steak. She made a few more contemplative sounds as she chewed and swallowed. "That makes some weird kind of sense. I think." She shook her head. "How did you know that? I never would have figured it out."
Carlos chuckled. "Don't feel bad about it. Not many people would ever figure out that kind of thing about how human minds work without being taught. I certainly didn't. My dad's a therapist, and he taught me a lot."
Amber blinked, then blinked again. "I have never heard of that profession before. In fact, I think it doesn't exist here."
Carlos realized on reflection that "therapist" hadn't translated. There was no word for it in Ganler, the native language here. "Huh. … I hadn't thought about it, but I'm not surprised. It took a long time for people where I grew up to realize that kind of thing can be important. Or maybe the hard part was realizing that it takes education and training to do it well."
"Ah."
They ate mostly in silence for a while, occasionally humming in thoughtful consideration while they chewed. Eventually Amber was leaning on her elbow, just watching as Carlos scraped up a few last bits of gravy from his plate. She stared distantly at nothing. "Hmm… You know, I'm tempted to actually accept, just so I can rub his face in how I succeeded better at his own greatest ambition than he ever will."
"Hmm? Oh right, Kindar." Carlos chuckled. "I imagine a few sessions of smugly condescending to him would be rather cathartic revenge for you. Would it be worth the downside of helping him actually achieve his ambition, at least to a minor degree, though? I'm sure that if Darmelkon had any other viable options for helping his son with this, he would have taken care of it years ago. If we refuse, we'll be denying Kindar from achieving his ambition at all. Wouldn't that be better revenge?"
"Logically, yeah, that makes sense. But it just doesn't feel satisfying to me." Amber took a sip of water and pushed her empty plate away. "I want to show him how badly we outclass him now. I want to see his face when he realizes that he will never measure up to the 'annoying stupid girl' he used to tease."
Carlos put his hands together, resting his elbows on the table, and rested his chin on his hands as he looked at Amber. "Not to mention how much money Darmelkon will pay us for doing it." His voice was calm and level.
Amber nodded quickly. "Yes, that too."
"You realize we're already rich now, right? Receiving taxes, and all that."
Amber threw her head back laughed uproariously. When her laughter finally tapered off, she leaned forward and looked Carlos in the eyes. "You may have heard that Darmelkon is rich, but you clearly don't understand how filthy rich he really is. Yes, I was shocked when he offered a hundred gold bounty for finding us back before we became nobles, but that was only because I didn't know why he considered us valuable. For this? For helping his son achieve his otherwise impossible greatest desire? A price in platinum would be cheap! I would bet that he'll pay in mythril and be glad about it."
"Hmm." Carlos quickly did the math in his head. 100 gold was roughly equivalent in value here to a million dollars on Earth, and is also equal to 1 platinum. So 1 million dollars per platinum. 100 platinum is 1 mythril. So each mythril coin is around the same order of magnitude value as 100 million dollars. Just 10 mythril to match a billion dollars. "Okay, that's more than I thought. So he's a major business tycoon? What the hell is he doing living in a backwater in the middle of nowhere like Erlen?"
Amber shrugged. "I have no idea. Ask him."
Carlos stared for a moment and snorted. "I suppose it doesn't matter." He took a deep breath. "Alright, I guess we're at least seriously considering it after all. So, let's break it down, pros and cons. Pros: personal satisfaction for you, Darmelkon loses any basis for claiming we still owe him a favor, and we get a ridiculous amount of money. Cons: Kindar becomes a noble. Also, we have to put up with him being here for a while. Anything else?"
"Another one for pros: Even with the favor and Darmelkon paying so much, Kindar himself will personally owe us, bigtime." Amber grinned. "His house will just about be permanent vassals in service to us."
Carlos hesitated, then frowned. "… Just how much, and how long, do you intend to keep paying him back for how he treated you?"
Amber raised an eyebrow and shrugged. "…Until I get tired of it? I don't know."
"I'm all for giving him a well-deserved comeuppance, turning the tables, and giving him a taste of his own medicine to teach him a lesson. But I will not countenance continuing to humiliate and abuse him long term!" Carlos shook his head emphatically. "If we do that, we would be bullies just as bad as he was. I hate bullies, and I refuse to be one."
Amber slowly lowered her eyes, blushed, and nodded shyly. "I… You're right. That is not the kind of person I want to be. I'm sorry for suggesting it."
Carlos leaned forward and reached out to gently put his right hand on top of her hands. "It's okay. What's important is that you recognize your mistakes, learn from them, and make yourself a better person. My parents taught me that very, very thoroughly."
"Yeah." Amber sighed and shook herself. "Thanks. I'll try to remember that. And… Should we just call off the whole idea?"
"Only if you truly want to." Carlos squeezed her hands gently. "If you can get some satisfaction without taking it too far, then that's completely okay, and you were right that there are serious benefits to it. Even having him as a vassal house, as long as we treat him reasonably. Though… Hmm." He frowned. "There has to be a reason why strong noble houses aren't raising up new vassal nobles all the time, right? It's not all that hard to make a noble soul plan if you know the requirements details."
"I suppose. Lorvan probably knows the reason."
Carlos nodded. "Yeah. I feel like he might just ask if we can figure it out ourselves, like he did about nobles keeping mana wellsprings, though…" He shrugged. "I'm sure Darmelkon knows too, and he wouldn't have asked if the Crown forbids it, or anything like that. He's ambitious and ruthless, not stupid. We should ask, certainly, but I expect any consequences we might have overlooked will be manageable. As I see it, the core question is just…" Carlos reached his other hand forward, firmly clasped and lifted both of Amber's hands, and looked her in the eyes. "Amber, what do you want to do with this?"
Amber stared back for a moment, then averted her gaze. "Don't you have an opinion about this too? Why are you only asking me?"
"Of course I have an opinion, but all he did to me was loan me a sword in a dungeon and then act rude and arrogant when he demanded it back afterward. You are the one who grew up being bullied by him. How to treat him matters far more to you than it possibly could to me." Carlos squeezed Amber's hands reassuringly. "Amber, please, look at me." He waited, and after a few seconds Amber hesitantly turned her head to face him directly again. "My opinion on this is that I want our response to be something that you will be content and happy with. All other relevant considerations that I can think of are less important than that."
Amber stared and slowly nodded. "I… Thank you." She squeezed Carlos's hands back and awkwardly extracted her hands from his grip so she could lean forward and rest her head on them, propped up by her elbows on the table. "I think… I do want to accept, but maybe with some conditions. I still want to show him up in person and see his reaction. Part of me still feels afraid of him, and I want to prove to myself that he doesn't have the power to threaten me anymore. That seems like something your 'therapists' would say something about. Would they say it's a good idea? Do you know?"
Carlos nodded. "Yes, absolutely. Standing up to something you used to fear is a great way to resolve residual fear of it that lingers in your mind."
"Then, yeah. I want to do that, and I do still want to get some payback." Amber hesitated. "But if I start bullying people like he did, I'd start hating myself as soon as I realize it. So, no bullying. And that goes for Kindar too. If he can't learn to stop being a bully, then he doesn't deserve what he wants. Let's give him a chance. Make our conditions clear, and demand partial payment up front, but give him an opportunity to earn our help."
"That sounds fair." Carlos cocked his head and frowned in thought. "Having him with us may require adjusting some of our plans. … Actually, we're overdue for making certain plans in the first place. I got a bit too carried away with my excitement over all the spell keywords we can learn now. Sorry."
Amber grinned. "Have you forgotten that I told you I'm well known for always having a plan? What do you think I've been doing the past two days?"
Carlos raised an eyebrow, then grinned back at her. "Oh really? Let's see what you've got!"

I know some of us are antsy that TTYD won’t sell well enough and that Nintendo is cautious about it, using it as a barometer for interest in old-school Paper Mario.
Hear me out here. TTYD has gotten the most advertising for any Switch game I’ve seen, excluding their big properties (Mario Odyssey, Zelda, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Pokemon). There are billboards and ads in many major cities advertising the game, I’ve seen many ads about it myself, they’ve taken down Origami King from physical stores, and obviously people on the internet rejoicing about it has definitely helped as well. We’ve gotten so many trailers and sneak peaks for both casuals and super fans alike that I think Nintendo is equally as optimistic that it’ll sell like hotcakes.
This is a great sign, because it would be one thing for the game to perform as it does with little marketing, but the marketing TTYD has gotten means that its performance will be boosted by Nintendo’s full backing. And consider that this is the game Nintendo considered worthy enough to hold it out for the next few months, to get the Switch to the end stretch of surpassing the PS2.

The -20 Power level is completely offset by the fact an additional buff in the form of stuff like Shotcaller offsets the damage loss in addition to Surges and damage buffs/debuffs. The main difference in the 5 power level increase is the room for error is narrower. The only real similarity to Contest Pantheon has is the time limit since contest does require a bit of time sensitivity to get encounters done and Pantheon does require you to be time sensitive if you want plat and or high score. But it stops there. Calling Pantheon Contest really just makes it seem all the more harder than need be. Pantheon is way easier. You're not thrown into this unknown situation as to what isn't well defined as to what works and what doesn't. All of these bosses have pre-established means of being beaten optimally. Stick to that. They all still work.
Pantheon is just just sugar coated Master Content. Whatever worked in Master content works in Pantheon. In some cases this is even without surge matching. Like Whisper vs Oryx. Or godrolled Edge Transit. Or Parasite w Tcrash vs Atraks. These worked on all weeks of Pantheon as boss damage options. And they will still work this week. Especially Edge Transit if it's Void Surge but regardles a god roll will slap no matter what.
Also Buried Bloodline absolutely slapped every week and will still slap this week regardless of surge. Highly recommend with or without catalyst. I'm seeing way too many people psyche themselves into using something like Tlord for optimal damage just because it's arc surge. Tlord is not optimal damage even with arc surge. It's fine for the sake of safety and a Tlord phase with good div placement and damage supers can get the job done vs Rhulk. But dont claim its the best option. You fuck up div in any way? youre wiping to get platinum. Someone dies during damage? Youre wiping. You miss damage supers or just dont have them? Youre not going to get the 2 phase. Whereas 3 people by themselves dying during damage still 2 phase with Rockets. Just use the damn rockets.
It's fine if you can't dps with anything else on arc/stasis surge but do realize you need to compensate just to barely get by.... and to everyone that needed to crutch on Tlord what are you going to do now when its no longer arc surge....
Please do realize that although this is easier than Contest and Master raids, this is by no means an activity that is meant to cater to what works for you because you're unable to do what's truly optimal. That's what practice in normal raids is meant for. It's too difficult isn't an excuse here. If you can't use or do not have what's optimal, solve that problem. If that means waiting a week where surge matches do that. If that means dont play Pantheon and practice in normal raids, do that. If that means go get the gun you need and upgrade it, do that.
Do just use what you've always used optimally or do use that you would normally do and make sure you take advantage of stuff like shotcaller. Don't sell yourself short. Don't psyche yourself out into using a setup that you're not familiar or isn't optimal either. Do just stick with what works for you. Can't tell you how many people tried to Acrius Rhulk who never touched the gun in their life or understand how to set it up for Rhulk. Don't be intimidated just because the activity is -20 power level. It's really not as bad as it seems. Even with the Tormentors and the additional mechanics. You'll be fine trust.

Hi, I’m from mexico and I’m in love with marvel champions ever since I watched the preview on rhado’s channel in 2019. Everything just clicked with me.
What I noticed is that I only seem to find content and discourse about the game in english or spanish from spain, and that is fine by me, but it seens the discourse around the game in mexico or south is practically non existant wich makes me feel pretty lonely about the game.
I don’t see any conventions or local game areas that play the game, it’s mostly tcg’s around here (mostly yugioh and pokemon). I only play true solo, and very ocasionally I a play it with some close friends that like the game, but not as much as I do. I would love to play it more often in multiplayer.
Also I would love to see more content creators from mexico cover the game, make ranking lists, strategies, gameplay and all that jazz. I understand that te barrier to entry is pretty high, since the game is not cheap and if you want the cards translated in spanish is even more expensive, so the lenguage seems to be one of the biggest hurdles to cross, but I have mu doubts, after all yugioh and pokemon are huge in mexico and they are not in spanish. So I don’t know, maybe is because is a cooperative game and not a competitive one, meaning there is no tournament scene?
So, how many of you are from mexico or countries from south america? Is marvel champions relevant where you are? How often do you play in multiplayer?

So I'm making headway in my first endless run and trying to merge shinies with my stronger pokemon, which are mega gengar and primal Kyoger. I have merged the gengar with a shiny magnezone to make a ghost steel shiny with sturdy, which I would love opinions on If it was a good or bad choice and why, and I would absolutely love any advice on what to do with my Kyoger. I'm not sure if it's even worth it with his Stateline, but as I go further I'll want to try to get him shiny to improve my rates correct? Thank you for taking the time to help out :)

AI "art" isn't art. Took zero skill to make and shows zero creativity. Like, ooh you typed some text into a box and a computer generated an image for you. Hey! I just graduated highschool, and I'm going to have a discussion with my college ambassador soon to discuss my plan for college. Problem: I don't have a plan.
I'm going into freshman year with 2 years worth of credits under my belt (thank you AP Collegeboard for letting me collect college credit like pokemon), which means I don't have a lot of time to decide what I want to do. My main options are Computer Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, and I'll be doing a CS minor either way. I've done plenty of research into Mechanical, so now I'm trying to find out what Computer Engineering entails.
Here are the questions:

1. What is the difficulty/main topic of the classes? Are they related to electrical or CS classes?
   
2. I've heard CE is a relatively new major in the recent decade, so are there less opportunities internship-wise compared to other disciplines?
   
3. How physics-related are the classes? Physics has always been something I am capable of, but am not a natural at. I am very good with Math, so there is no concern there.
   
4. What are the industries CE majors most commonly work towards?

Lifelong pokemon fan who stopped playing games after BW and has only played BDSP, Eevee, and SWSH since then. I've started a living dex in Pokemon Home because I had a living dex in BDSP and found myself enjoying SWSH more than I thought I could. When this started for me again, the SV 151 set was fading out of availability and was getting very very expensive at 3rd party sites/sellers. What would you all recommend I do if I want to create a living dex of the original 151, maybe 493, in TC that doesn't break the bank too much? I do not want to go to eBay and just buy someone else's collection.

I've seen some confusion around this. Even from Youtubers who play Gen 1 & 2 almost exclusively, people don't seem to understand that Stat EXP is dramatically different from Modern EVs.
A full stat exp guide
Yes Stat Exp works very differently from modern EVs. (My numbers will be slightly off, but this should convey the general concept) Modern EVs go up to like 255 for two stats 510 total, with mons adding +1, +2, or +3 to a running total when they are defeated, then this total is divided by 4 until it hits a cap of 510 extra stats total.
Stat EXP on the other hand is basically 255 EVS FOR EVERY STAT, and then how you gather them is different as well. When you defeat a mon, their entire base stat total is added to a running calculator. Each time you hit a threshold (the formula is complicated, but basically it's every 255 points) +1 will be added to that stat. The Stat Exp. caps at 65025 per stat, so you can have 255 for each stat. So, given the same DVs, a Nidoran that is naturally trained will have roughly +2 maybe even +3 in each stat over a Nidoran that is candy trained heading into the Brock fight.
(For our Hard mode, even if you hit the level cap, you can force the game to recalculate this stat exp by depositing the Pokemon in the PC, then withdrawing. In this way you can literally Max your Stat Exp before each gym leader if you're psychotic about min-maxing).
As you can imagine this makes a big difference over an entire run as DVs will only add about 30 points between the highest & lowest values, but Stat EXP could mean 255 points per stat going into the Elite 4 if you keep the same team through the game.
You'll feel this acutely in Nuzlockes if you lose 2-3 mons in the mid game. You'll replace them with mons that have 0 stat EXP and you'll quickly realize how frail they are by comparison and how little damage they deal. This can cause a bit of a death spiral in the mid game of Gen 1-2 Nuzlockes if you aren't careful.
