I've been marriage to my Turkish husband for six years in the Scandinavian country. Unfortunately he's about to die in weeks to terminal cancer being situated now in the palliative care unit.
I've been the main provider of our family (no children) due to my regular job and incomes, he's been unemployed the whole time with minimal social benefits and sickness allowance. For example all the rents and electricity bills were paid by me.
Few years ago he sold his apartment (it was left to him by non relative will) in Turkey, another 30% of that money was transfered here for the car he wanted to buy and some othe daily expenses like private dentist, basic clothes etc. Nothing fancy was bought nor I didn't get anything special for myself.
Rest of the money was kept in Turkish bank account and eventually used to buy new apartment to his parents. They already owned decent one but wanted change the city and the old one was rented as an further investment for parents. My husband was promised they would sell the extra apartment if he needed for starting business or other investments or needs. At this point I didn't know about who's name was in the apartment contract papers or any other details. Of course I didn't and don't have any specific details about Turkish legislation concerning marriage finances, obligations or property owning possibilities. And I trusted my in laws and their family.
Last year after my husband's hopeless diagnosis we started to talk about the inheritance issues. (I have to admit he hasn't been interested in any legal or bureaucratic issues, taxes etc. I was dealing his benefit applications and tax reports yearly.) I was asking who really owns that new apartment of parents and it's theirs. So my husband apparently never had legal rights to use money invested to that in any way, nor I as a future widow. Only obligation from parents was moral one at the most.
By the time of diagnosis there was no extra money left at my husband's bank account. Interestingly parents didn't see any need to sell the appartment after my husband's diagnosis for his medical expenses, daily expenses like nutritious food and winter clothes, dentist cost or vetenerary costs or their own flight tickets to greet his only child to give support. My husband's dream for decades was travel around Northern parts of Scandinavia and Lapland, this never happened either. I should have had two jobs to make his last year a decent and memorable one.
Now the parents and other relatives started to talk about the inheritance issues, they finally arrived to my husband's dying bed. They don't want the car or profit from selling it as act of good will but according to our inheritance law they won't anyways inherit cause my husband permanent residence was here, not in Turkey. I'm the only member of death estate.
Now the question is what was really going on in Turkey; why the leftover money was used to parents new apartment, who was behind this idea and what kind of transactions and contracts were made. I was told few weeks ago by husbands relative that he has some debt required to pay in Turkey. My husband was told and lied earlier he was financially clear in Turkey. I suspect that they was need to hide the money or property, also taxes are most likely not paid properly.
The very same relatives active and "helping" in this case will inherit my husbands parents in the future.
This has been pure torture to me in the middle of saying goodbye to my love one. My husbands relatives have been messing and planning other things too behind my back, also threats has been made.
Me, my family and friends plus health care staff consider all this as a deeply disrespectful, hurting and dishonest behavior. In Scandinavia our values and respect for human and individual rights are uncompromised.

Emergency Broadcasting Motion

This House recognises:—
(1) Trials of a UK Emergency Alert System took place in 2013 using cell broadcast technology.
(2) Since the 2013 trial, no further trials have taken place.
(3) The United Kingdom remains without a proper, unified emergency alert service.
Therefore, this House calls on the Government to:—
(1) Test and formally roll-out a cell broadcast emergency alerting system across the United Kingdom.
(2) Review the state of other emergency alerting methods, such as TV and radio alerts, to ensure they are fit for the modern day.
(3) Regularly update this House on the steps the Government is taking to ensure the United Kingdom's preparedness for emergencies of all kinds.

Opening Speech
My Lords,
In 2013, the Government of the time tested an emergency broadcast system on mobile phones. This included testing the cell broadcast system. While the initial tests were promising, no further tests have been carried out by the Government since that date, and no roll-out of cell broadcasting has taken place.
It has been a decade since those tests took place, and the United Kingdom still remains wholly unprepared to notify its residents of an emergency should one arise. We might be able to cobble together an SMS system for a prolonged emergency, but it would be vulnerable to spoofing or phishing, and it wouldn't work for immediate emergencies such as floods and terrorist attacks.
We have an opportunity to save far more lives than what we are currently doing with existing systems. Timely alerts that are given in a trusted format, as is the case with cell broadcasting, will mean that we can reach those in the UK with critical information when they need it most.
Such a system will of course need further testing before the official roll-out. Therefore, I urge the Government to plan dates for these tests and to start a public awareness campaign before the test takes place, so that people can expect the test and do not get spooked by it. If the Government fails to notify people of the test, then it might result in a large proportion of the population turning such alerts off after the test takes place.
This motion therefore calls on the Government to provide updates to this House on the status of the emergency broadcast system, so that this House can hold the Government to account. Without doing so, the population of the UK will not be adequately prepared for the tests and for the official roll out of the system.
My Lords, with the roll-out of cell broadcasting technology, the Government ought to review the status of other emergency broadcasting technology to ensure that there is a joined up strategy for the effective use of these systems. Otherwise, an alert could end up giving conflicting information, sowing confusion and panic among the population. The purpose of such alerts should be to give essential information, to calm and reassure, and to prompt people to take needed action.
The world is becoming a more dangerous place. Tensions are rising and armed conflicts are getting closer to home. The climate is changing and extreme weather events are becoming more common. Political violence and terrorism have been on the rise. While an alert system will not fix these, it will allow people to respond and help make themselves safe.
While this cannot be the extent of our strategy to prepare the population, it must be a cornerstone of it. I urge noble Lords to support this motion.

I work mostly as a DUT/Loader at this point. I sometimes upgrade to DIT when a splinter or second unit pops up.
I recently worked a day where they decided we needed a splinter. The location was geographically inconvenient, involving a 45 minute drive to the other side of a river and back.
Our contract states that it requires “if an employee works for 2 hours or more in a classification higher than the classification under which the Employee is called for work, such upgraded Employee shall be paid at the same rate for the higher classification… for the entire workday.”
We were shooting our normal day, then told this shoot was happening. I stopped doing my usual tasks, helped assemble and load all of the appropriate equipment to be able to expose and distribute the image as requested, loaded into a vehicle, shot the stuff, drove back, then went to lunch.
The total time spent was just about 3.5 hours. I added a DIT upgrade to my timesheet but was told it “wasn’t approved” because I “wasn’t working as a DIT for 2 or more hours” because “travel time does not count as working time”.
How do I argue against this? I feel that any time that I took away from my usual job to facilitate this should be treated as upgraded time. It’s difficult to quantify “working time” in this context.

Fast forward to 2024, their case went to trial and the judge threw it out for lack of evidence as the SEC’s case was based on hearsay and no real facts. These guys are all really good dudes and they were not trying to scam anyone. Now that they are free, some legit devs created the $ZACK coin and brought @MrZackMorris in to lead the community. Check out his twitter and you will see how dedicated he is to this project. And what that means is he is also bringing in the retail trader market over into meme coins. These guys have a ton of money to play with. Much more money to invest then the 17 year olds who are telling you to buy $KENDU or whatever other lame coins like $HONK or $FLOYD or whatever crap these kids are buying today. These are real whales and many are just getting started with the meme coin market for their first time with $ZACK coin. Also, this coin is the biggest f*ck you to the government for what they did by ruining these men’s lives because the SEC and short sellers have no control over the the meme coin market so Zack wants to take this coin to the moon. He has even stated that he wants to take it to $5 and will not sell any before that. If you know anything about his old stock calls, they almost always hit their targets. This really shouldn’t be very difficult once people understand what this community is all about. The rumors are already starting that the $ZACK team is working on getting listed on both Binance and Coinbase. Once this happens, this thing is going mainstream and will skyrocket higher than all of these other retarded meme coins that have $1 billion dollar market caps. So, with that all said, I suggest you really take a good look at $ZACK and try to understand what this community is now and will become once people catch word of this story as I am sure it will be in the news soon enough.
