Shoutouts & Thanks

This was a rollercoaster season for us but we are back on track with a bright future ahead. I want to thank everyone for their incredible patience this season and I want to remind everyone that the goal is definitely to go back to ~4-5 months reset (depending on what community wants). I need to give a special shoutout to Necrolis. We are so freaking lucky to have him on the team. The work he has put in makes everything possible. From the obviously cool features like Synthesized items and Shared Stash Tabs to all the insane amount of rewrites and improvements behind the scenes that you won't see or hear much about but that make this server run so much better. Seriously this mod would not be where it is today without his generous time and effort. Next I want to thank any and everyone that has contributed from last season to now. I really hope I get all the names but if I forgot you please dm me so I can add your name. Some of these people have given a ton of time and effort and others have helped in smaller ways that still deserve mention. It doesn't matter how small it is appreciated nonetheless. In no particular order: Sizzles, Flyers, Shirley, Zardos, Willywonka, Vileskin, mmmpld, Nadragh, Harpywar, Relesgoe, Aerlynn, Qord, GCenx, Bayaraa, Kingpin, SoulFire, Makuta, Nullptr, the entire Moderation team whom are so awesome, Every single person that made a bug report ticket during the PTR or a feedback ticket (i cant possibly name you all but you are all super awesome), the awesome korean community from DCI forums, Guide makers & Loot filters bros, All the people who have edited the now improved PoD Wiki (especially Qord), Holyverz, John B, TheHornBlower, Masterpanda, Bathing_Cardinal for chinese translation & our russian community on VK + moderator.

Thank you for your support!

The server contributors and Everyone who has donated or subbed on patreon; Seriously without financial support we cannot support the costs of servers. And starting this season I want to try going full time on PoD so that we can have more content and better support overall. If you love this mod too, and are able to contribute, please consider donating via paypal, patreon or credit card. Your supporter is needed and appreciated.

2022.12.31 08:50 Ask_About_My_PD [TOMT] [Computer flash game] Willy wonka game

Ok so it was a game that you could play on willywonka.com I think. They advertised it on wonka candy in the early 2000s. There was one specifically where you were a bubble and u could go on different courses. Does anyone know what I’m talking about?

2022.03.28 05:13 vgonzalez18 Desperate Plea for Help!

Back in the early 2000s I swear I used to play these super quirky games on willywonka.com. Does anyone else remember these? I remember this super cool rollercoaster game where you would collect candy and a scary tomb game that had some kind of candy monster. I can't find any record that these games existed anywhere. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

2021.02.05 04:07 CMRobbie Do any of yall remember that scary Willy Wonka pyramid web game?

OK, I know this is going to sound like an old creepypasta, but I swear. Wonka, the candy company based off the book, used to have a website full of flash games (pour one out), I think it was wonka.com but it might have been willywonka.com or something similar.
There was one in particular that was hidden off in a sub-page, where you played a kid exploring a candy pyramid by flashlight. The game played like a 3D and first-person Pac-Man or Tower of Duraga, where you you venture around a maze inside the pyramid. 3D modeled monsters pursued you inside the pyramid, and if they caught you they'd steal some of your flashlight battery (basically killing you as running out of battery is a game over) in a creepy pre-rendered cutscene.
No, it did not trigger hyperrealistic WD Gaster if you beat it fast enough, but it was unnerving in that "horror game made for kids that does its job a little too well" way. Anyone else remember it?

2019.08.27 18:45 BendicantMias Path of Exile already has Charms!

Yo! In response to this thread getting traction recently, I think it's worth reminding people here that GGG meant it when they've said this game was inspired by the classic D2:LOD. Including in having its own version of charms. GGG actually experimented with the system in the games' earliest iterations, and they ultimately ended up implementing them as something we all use quite widely - JEWELS. This solves the inventory space clutter issue that vanilla D2 had with its charms. Source:- ZiggyD! I'd recommend giving both that video and its companion vid by WillyWonka a watch as they both contain some awesome hidden info about the game that many of you all (yes, including even some of the older players) may not have picked up on all this time. They're both short, and packed with fascinating trivia. Cheers! :)

2018.12.29 15:01 BuckGB Path of Exile - Reflecting on Past Releases, Part 1

If you're in the mood for some reminiscing, you may enjoy reading this article on the official Path of Exile website that takes us on a “trip down memory lane” and offers a brief overview of the action-RPG's early releases along with some interesting facts about them. Having first played the game during the Open Beta, it's neat to be able to see how far it's come since then. Have a look:
Path of Exile Closed Beta (0.9.0)
We entered Closed Beta in August of 2011, with the first two Acts of Path of Exile available. This early version didn't have any form of microtransactions or even a trade screen. Players gained access through the popular "Beta Key Timer" on the website, which picked a random player to award Beta access to periodically, and showed everyone who it picked.
[...]
In April of 2012 we included Closed Beta access with the first generation of supporter packs. The Diamond Kiwis present in the highest pack from that era are among some of the most treasured pets in Path of Exile to this day.
Path of Exile Open Beta (0.10.0)
Our Open Beta in January 2013 marked the point where we opened up Path of Exile to the public as the free-to-play game it is today. This release introduced the first half of Act 3 (up to the Piety fight in the Lunaris Temple). This release was also Path of Exile's last progress wipe of the Standard economy. We also took this opportunity to introduce the first cosmetic microtransactions outside of supporter packs.
Half way through the Open Beta, we released the first pair of Challenge Leagues: Anarchy and Onslaught.
Path of Exile Release (1.0.0)
In October of 2013, we left Open Beta and officially launched Path of Exile. This release introduced the second half of Act 3 (six new world areas) and made Dominus the final boss of the game. It also introduced Guilds, PvP and our seventh character class, the Scion.
This expansion changed the shape of the game by introducing triggered support gems which are still making a significant impact on build creation to this day.
At this time we were still making separate Hardcore and Standard leagues. Domination and Nemesis launched alongside the release, both of which are still making appearances in the game today.
At release, we also launched on Steam which continues to introduce Path of Exile to new players around the world.
Sacrifice of the Vaal (1.1.0)
This expansion came out in early March 2014. It added Queen Atziri and dozens of new bosses that can be encountered in corrupted areas. While people are still challenging themselves against the difficulty of Atziri (and her secret Uber version), perhaps the most notable introduction was Vaal Orbs! These are still a big part of item crafting and the economy.
This expansion launched alongside the Ambush and Invasion leagues. Strongboxes are still ever-present throughout the main game with Invasion makes a comeback during some special events.
Ambush was a league that evolved from the original plan to have currency items work on any chest in the game. We found that feeling the need to reroll every barrel you came across was too distracting, and so the idea evolved into specific chests that can be re-rolled. To give it a risk-reward tradeoff, monsters were added and Ambush was born.
Forsaken Masters (1.2.0)
This expansion was launched in late August 2014. It introduced the seven original Path of Exile Forsaken Masters. In addition to introducing Hideouts to the game, it also unlocked dozens of new crafting options for players to explore which have become part of the foundation of how characters progress in Path of Exile. We based Path of Exile's most popular expansion ever, the recently-released Betrayal, on a lot of the foundations established in Forsaken Masters.
It was launched alongside Rampage and Beyond which have both been maintained in the current game in different ways. This update also introduced Herald Skills!
Forsaken Masters was a lot of work and took a lot of development budget (by our 2014 standards - we probably spend that in a week nowadays!). Rampage is probably more popular now than it was as a league back then. Beyond's toughest aspect was working out the rules for the way the random monsters and upgrades of portals worked. That took a lot of time, but once correct it proved very robust. At launch the biggest issues were the monsters with life regeneration, as some rare Beyond monsters were basically immortal.
Torment and Bloodlines (1.3.0)
The Torment and Bloodlines Leagues were part of the significant 1.3.0 update in December 2014. They were part of version 1.3.0 which also introduced a plethora of PvP improvements and the 8th master: Leo Redmane, Master of the Arena.
These PvP improvements prompted us to hold our own invitational tournaments which we broadcast live on our (short-lived) Twitch Channel and shoutcasted by WillywonkaHC and GreenDude. Check it out here!
Bloodlines was based on the idea of "Nemesis but for packs". The most important element of this was adding the tech where a pack actually meant something in game, rather than just for spawning purposes. Like Nemesis, it was released with some very unpopular player-destroying mods.
Torment was quite different as a league, and the behaviour of the spirits was the hardest part to develop out. It was popular enough that it went core, with the spirits occurring almost as frequently as they did in the league.
Join us next week for Part 2 of this series, which looks at the expansions from The Awakening through to Breach!

2016.11.01 00:21 FlygonRider Halloween Oarty of Glorious Proportions

Tonight's party is almost competely different from the one last Saturday. Instead of the forest, the dining pavilion had been refurnished. The tables have been rearranged, and the light fixtures reorganised. The bar was set up to serve Halloween themed drinks, and candy buffets were dotted about. The dancefloor was laid out in the center, of course. With booths, and games, various other activities scattered all around. People were free to do whatever they pleased, as long as it remained appropriate. Food upon order was available from the kitchens, but candy was the main treat tonight. A cheat day for the athletes.
Don't forget, of course, the most important thing. Everyone should wear a costume. Be it a simple shirt, or a full on cosplay. Be creative. Do whatever you'd like. And remember to enjoy!

2015.10.13 08:02 greendude120 The Ladder will reset on October 22nd

The estimated reset time is at 2:00pm Eastern Time (8:00pm Central European Time)

The day prior to the reset, I will be patching the server with Patch#4 entitled "Onyx". The patch notes will be available here on the subreddit. I'm certain you guys will be excited by the new changes.
We have also setup a website where you can see the Ladder Rankings without opening your game: pathofdiablo.tk/index.htm. Also, this is the ladder ranking for April 2015

2014.08.10 09:52 ZiggyDStarcraft The Path of Exile Recommended Live Stream List

G'day! Lately I've been spending a ton of time lurking in as many different Path of Exile streams as possible. It's been a ton of fun, we have a pretty damn amazing streaming community that's really close knit and full of awesome, interesting people. It's also pretty awesome getting to know the cool people that hang out in each of the chats - you really get to know people and you'll often bump into them across multiple streams.
I wanted to make this post to give you guys a reference for different streams that I've personally seen to be high quality, entertaining, informative and just a generally great place to be. I think having such a vibrant livestreaming scene is great for the game and I want to do everything I can to help it grow!
I'd also like to encourage you to share your own recommendations! There are still a lot of streams I haven't had a chance to familiarize myself with.
Manocean aka Mano
What to Expect: Quad Client Dominus Farming, sessions of spending 1000 chance orbs in one go, hardcore mapping & MFing and a generally chilled out, friendly environment. Mano's stream is the perfect place to spend a tired evening while farming.
Willywonka_HC aka Willy
What to Expect: One of the most warm, friendly & interactive streams I have ever watched. Very skilled high level gameplay, especially in the longer Hardcore races and the HC challenge leagues. May also be casting low level dueling with Greendude soon!
HegemonyTV aka Hege
What to Expect: Tons and tons of game knowledge. Achievement hunting & build theorycrafting. 'Hegecrafting' - Hege is one of the most in depth and dedicated crafters I've seen. Often takes time out to help people with their builds. Also badass rap covers.
raizQT aka Raiz
What to Expect: Some of the sickest and most creative build theorycrafting on Twitch. Raiz will frequently go through the PoE Wiki searching for things to build, break and experiment with. Most well known build is the RaizQT Poison Arrow Trapper. Raiz's stream has quadrupled in size in recent weeks and with good reason.
ZenocideGenius aka Zeno
What to Expect: The State of Exile podcast! Plenty of shenanigans & fun/alternative builds. Zeno's also known for ordering devs pizza and being one of the most generally involved-in-the-community streamers. Lot's and lots of effort put towards growing PoE and promoting other streamers.
theuberelite aka Uber
What to Expect: I've only been able to catch Uber a few times so far but each time I've really enjoyed it. He seems to have a great attitude and is a skilled racer & hardcore player.
Staceily aka Stacey
What to Expect: Stacey is a committed high level racer in the longer duration hardcore races (placing 10th in the recent HC 1 month race!). She also seems to play pretty much all my favourite music from the 90's. Very friendly and lots of light-hearted banter.
Anuhart
What to Expect: A lesser known streamer that I wanted to give a special mention. Anuhart does not use a mic or cam (he types in chat if you ask a question). His stream is a window into one of the most interesting Path of Exile stories I've ever seen. He's been playing self found (zero trading, everything found or crafted) in Standard league for 1000's of hours. In this time he has crafted a small battalion of almost perfectly geared characters. When you stop by his stream and see him rocking Shavronne's and Crown of Eyes with near perfect rares you expect a hardcore trader but everything was scuplted and found by hand. It's really impressive and incredibly interesting reading through the history of each of his characters and seeing the work he's put into something he's clearly passionate about.
Foxtactics
What to Expect: Well known for the Foxtactics Arc Witch / Righteous Arcer / Righteous Surgeon. Very high level farming & uber Atziri kills. A very friendly guy to boot!
Moses_2265 aka Moses
What to Expect: Only very recently started playing Path of Exile after a long stint playing exclusively Diablo 3. Picked up the game extremely quickly getting his own self crafted character into endgame. Since then has been playing non-stop - it seems PoE really dug it's claws in deep! Tons of 1-on-1 interaction with chat.
Pohx
What to Expect: Pohx is an extremely knowledgeable player, but very modest about that fact. That said, he wont hesitate to back up words with actions when needed. He streams both Path of Exile and Archeage at the moment and will be playing a lot of PoE with the new expansion. He's also one of the hosts on the State of Exile podcast. His stream is always a ton of fun.
Helmann
What to Expect: One of the best racers in the game. I've watched tons of Helmann's VoDs to improve my racing and general leveling a great deal. His commentary and explanations of why he does certain things and how to improve your gameplay mechanics are top notch. Probably one of the best streams to just watch and learn.
MORE SUGGESTIONS FROM THE COMMUNITY!
  • Ghazzy - one of the best summoners in the game. Atziri service and crafting.
  • Havoc - Nicebuilds :D
  • TeddyNL (Pulp) - HC player and racer.
  • MorsRageNG - HC player and racer.
  • Nicebuild atziri runs
  • Unhost
  • Dominion! He's very helpful with new players and a very competitive player, infact he completed 8/8 challenges in every challenge league so far! His knowledge of the game is very deep and he's playing this game since the very beginning of it (iirc)! He doesn't get that many viewers (40/50) but the stream is definitely worth watching! He's been streaming less since he died in the 1mhc race but when it comes of new leagues or he has a goal in mind he stream for 10/15 h/day most of the times!
  • DayOnePatch to my follow list after seeing his tutorial post on this subreddit yesterday.
  • Baker is great too! Normally streamers with teamspeak are bad because the other people in teamspeak are annoying and/or the streamer ignores his chat. Baker's group is pretty hilarious and he hardly misses anything in chat.
  • Ghudda - Pioneer of such builds as the 2 hour Gorge movespeed build and the gotta go as fast as the speed of desync build. Also popularized the EB/CI/BM + all other keystones builds.
Please share anyone you have really enjoyed who regularly streams Path of Exile. I'm sure I don't really have to say it but this is not a place to berate someone you don't like, instead promote who you do! Also, if someone's channel isn't here it just means I haven't had a chance to check them out recently. Please recommend them in the comments!
