Hey all,
I'll be joining TU Delft this year for a Masters in Aero. I was wondering if there has been any community group started so far, and if not, offer to make one?
Discords, WhatsApp, FB, whatever?

I'm very confused regarding the visa process and I called the TU Delft, but I have not gotten an answer. How long does the visa process take? do I need to interview at the IND? I have transferred the tuition, so what else is there to do for my visa? I would appreciate your answers since I'm very confused.

2024.05.19 01:24 PuzzleheadedRun2243 Econometrie of Technische Wiskunde?

Goedenavond,
Bedankt! 🙏

2024.05.18 22:16 MattPel Housing Options Through 5Huizen Vastgoedbeheer

Hi everyone,
I'm an incoming student at TU Delft and currently exploring accommodation options. I've come across some potential housing opportunities on the TU Delft website, specifically through a provider called 5Huizen Vastgoedbehee (also recommended in tu delft website). I have a few questions and would really appreciate any insights or advice to ensure I avoid any scams.
Can anyone share their experiences with 5Huizen Vastgoedbeheer? Is it safe to sign a housing contract without viewing the room first? The owner accepted my application suspiciously fast.
Are these housing options available exclusively to TU Delft students, or can students from other universities, such as the University of Leiden, also apply?
Thank you in advance for your help!

2024.05.18 10:32 redchicago03 Indian student applying for Sept'25 intake

I'm currently studying in grade 12 (last year of high school) and will be applying for universities like tu/e and tu/Delft. Got to know that the application portal would be open only till Jan of 2025 but I would be receiving my Standard 12th certificate (entry requirement) after April of 2025. Should I be taking a drop year and then be applying or submit my recent 12th grade reports?

"Bert van Wee is professor in Transport Policy at Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands, faculty Technology, Policy and Management. His main interests are in long-term developments in transport, in particular in the areas of accessibility, land-use transport interaction, (evaluation of) large infrastructure projects, the environment, safety, policy analyses and ethics."

2024.05.17 16:09 netj_nsh Requirement of AP courses and exemption for 1st-year study

Hi,
Do AP courses such as AP Calculus BC, AP Calculus AB, ap statistics be served as course exemption for the first year which means related 1st year math course can be waived? Or the AP courses can only be used for entry requirements in Netherlands uni such as UvA, TU Delft etc.?

2024.05.16 20:18 aser183 Freelancing in South America?

Hello,
I’m currently finishing my masters degree in architecture from TU Delft in the Netherlands. I’ve studied for 5 years practically nonstop and now want to take the chance to have a bigger travel break and I want to backpack South America for a few months (the exact countries haven’t been set yet but probably the standard Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and Brazil). I have some money saved for this trip but I hope to come across opportunities to also earn some bucks while there. Given that I will have completed a masters degree by then I would like to maybe utilise it to get a better salary compared to some typical traveler low paying jobs. So I was wondering if it is possible to find some short term work in architecture offices in any of the countries I mentioned before? I’m planning to stay longer in bigger cities so i would have time to do some jobs that can require a few weeks. Or alternatively to find some work that I can do remotely. Visuals or 3D modelling… Also i obviously will not have any residency or work permits. Will this be an obstacle or is it possible to make some kind of an arrangement? And finally, how would I go about it? Do I do it the old school way and just walk in to the office with my portfolio or are there some websites that I can use? Is linkedin popular?
Also if you have any other ideas how I can use my degree/skills for short term work in South America, please share!
Thanks in advance!
P.S.: I only have very basic can-order-a-coffee level of Spanish…

2024.05.16 15:05 1Ojas2 NUS vs TU Delft which one is better for undergraduate studies?

Pretty much what the title says. I recently finished my 12th grade and got my results (97.8%, CBSE), I've already gotten into TUDelft (and secured housing, so that isn't a concern) and from what I've heard from my seniors, teachers and friends, I have a good chance at getting into NUS as well. (Comp sci btw) I just wanted to know which Uni is better for undergrad studies, in terms of academics, work load, employability (Especially EMPLOYABILITY), I do not care about social life/partying/the "environment", I just want to know which Uni could provide me with more (and better) opportunities, as far as I've read on google they're both pretty much on the same level, except NUS is more well known. Please do let me know what you guys think.
As of now these are my only two options, so it would be appreciated if you guys could answer in detail so that I could come to a final decision. Right now i'm slightly biased towards TUDelft as its program is 3 years (but way more academically intensive, which, honestly I don't mind). Any and all help is greatly appreciated 👍

2024.05.15 17:03 Embarrassed-Win-8483 Balance between studying and "living"

Hello guys !
I have just been accepted for a master in electrical engineering Ms at TuDelft and I plan to specialise myself in microelectronics.
I am completing my bachelor in Belgium and I was wondering about the workload at TuDelft. I like to go out and be able to develop myself in other things than my studies, therefore I would like to know if those things are possible during a Master in electrical engineering. My bachelor was quite hard regarding the workload so I'm not too worried, but I'm still curious.
Thanks in advance for your answer !

2024.05.15 14:59 InevitableNo5158 Dating and studying - which uni to pick

I'm an internation student considering doing a Masters in Computer science and Engineering. I did by Bachelors in the same from TU Delft so I have been in NL for a while and can speak Dutch at a B1 level. In my 5.5 years in NL I have found no proper success in dating partly due to COVID and also due to my studies which were hard for me. Also because there were not as many prospects for dating girls in a Computer Science Bachelors in TU Delft.
I am wondering if I should now maybe pick a different university like Utrecht for my masters just for the better social/dating scene and because of the lower stress level(I assume).
Would I really be losing out in the long run if I chose Utrecht over TU Delft as a software engineer for studies for this reason and does it make sense to do this for the reasons I have mentioned. Is it much easier to have a better social life/dating life in Utrecht and is the tradeoff in "university prestige" worth it in your opinion for this reason given the social life/ dating is equally important to me.
Is there some other university that would be even better than Utrecht in your opinion?
Cheers!
