2024.05.19 10:50 _FizzyPop_ BD Coming to Step Daughters Birthday...

Ok where to begin.. I've been with my wife since 2021, she was already separated (but not dicorced) and had a 4 yo son and 2.5 yo daughter. She left her ex because it just wasn't working and around the time we got together she found messages and nudes he'd (at the time 28m) swapped with her friends baby sitter (16f). She reported it to the army MP's and it was all swept under the rug which is fucked up enough but he was kicked out of the army. Needless to say, not a great guy.
So my wife and I start dating, it takes time but the kids warm up to me, wife and I get married, and seeing I need to provide I join the USAF and go through the recruitment process in 2022, BD knows im joining and even being kicked out of the army knows there's a timer on when his ex and the kids move away when I get stationed somewhere.
He was only 45 min away from us at the time of me starting enlistment and by the time I finished basic and tech training which took 6 months (in total was about a year process) and he only came to see the kids about 6 or 7 times.
We got to our base in July 2023 and it wasn't until December 2023 that he even asked what our address was because he needed it for some paperwork. He never actually initiates calls or even text my wife to ask how the kids are, all contact he has with them is when my soon to be 5 SD ask to call him. He knows absolutely fuck all about what's going on in the kids lives, anything about their interest, he just doesn't care but yet every time he talks to them (which is on average once a month for about 20 min) he tells them how much he loves them etc. And how much he cares about them.
Back at new years he told the kids he'd come to us to visit (about a 10 hour drive which my wife and I have made twice to go back home for holidays since we left in July 2023) by the end of February. We'll surprise surprise he didn't show.
A couple days ago my SD asked to call him and asked if he'd be at her birthday party in 2 weeks, he said that "he'd try to be there but wasn't sure". Well my wife ans i got confirmation today from him that he was going to be here because, and I quote, "I haven't missed a birthday and I'll be dammed if I miss one now." WE asked what his exact travel plans were so we knew how to plan for his visit, and he actually hadn't made plans yet and is just saying he'll be here. Also, this whole "I'll be dammned if I miss a birthday" shit is just so infuriating because if my SD didn't ask, he wouldn't have even entertained the idea of coming out to us.
He makes about 80k/yr and we only ask for 1k/mo in child support for 2 kids despite the fact that it should be 25% of each pay check per our states laws, and he's complaining saying "well I'll be out there but I have to put everything on a credit card to make the trip because I'm saving to buy a house". We have 0 idea where all his money goes and we frankly don't care, but his financial literacy is crazy bad.
Now I have to figure out, if he does actually show up, how to handle this with the kids, make a list of ground rules for him being in my fucking house which I don't want to begin with but the kids want to see him, and making sure I don't fucking deck him when I hear him inevitably say "well they're my kids".
TLDR; BD is a piece of shit who does nothing but make empty promises to my kids just for me and my wife to clean up his mess and be the bad guys.

2024.05.19 09:40 0dy5 40k player coming over this side of the pond - Skaven or Ironjawz?

With the coming of 4th edition I decided to try out AoS and I'm trying to decide which faction to pick so I can start grabbing some models to paint.
In 40k I play Space Marines (flamer-based army), Necrons (heavy infantry + vehicles), and Aeldari (bikes and wraith constructs). In AoS I want to run something with different playstyle and aesthetic/concept than 40k, so things that are either very horde, very elite, and/or melee-based. I explored the range and what pique my interest right now are Skaven and Ironjawz but I'm struggling to choose one.
Skaven are my childhood dream army with (some) cool models and a nice randomness in it, and I could split the launch box with a friend that wants SCE. On the other hand, I don't like their lore too much, I prefer elite over horde and maybe they are too much shooting-based 40k-like?
As for Ironjawz, I absolutely love the models and the fact that seems elite but I'm worried they could be a bit one dimensional with just 'charge and smash' and I get bored after a while.
What would you suggest? What models/boxes should I start with for them?

DK main since release, finally got the 1k portrait
Started with BBB control, shifted to plague with Titans, playing rainbow since Whizbang dropped.
Every matchup feels winnable atm with good resource management, including warrior and hunter.
I’ve found with warrior the best strategy is to get Helya down as early as possible, shuffle in more plagues with buffed discovered staffs, dirty rat after brann comes down, and freeze out ignis weapons with quartzite crushers. It’s usually a long road to a loss if your rat hits flop, though.
Hunter (and paladin) can be managed with threads of despair and copies discovered by hematurge.
Mage can be a struggle if they manage to quickly discover a lot of direct damage spells.
Warlock is fine unless they manage to fizzle their key fatigue cards. Can usually heal enough with maw and paw and crushers.
Never hit legend but usually end the month at high diamond.
Any questions just ask!

2024.05.19 09:03 mattyg2787 Back to the Crusades!

So I haven't played 40k in many years (8th ed) but a few mates are getting back into it and may of roped me in. BT's were my first 40k army over 25 years ago and they are calling me back. I have great memories of piling a massive squad of chain saw wielding marines out of a crusader along with Emperors champion and piling in. What does a 2k Black templar army look like these days? Doesn't need to be super competitive but do wanna feel the fun of crusading knights rushing out of land raiders into the enemy.
Thanks

2024.05.19 08:58 CBTwitch Played Darkoath at a RTT Today

Played Darkoath at a RTT Today
I played in a three round RTT today with a list that was heavy into Darkoath. List wasn’t super optimized, so I added some stuff in that usually never sees the table to test their viability, like a Centaurion for the 5+ rally, and a Myrmidon to run with my Theridons.
Ultimately I got stuck into two not great matchups: SoB and Kruleboys. I was just overpowered and screened hard by the Gargants, and then completely rekt by orruk bolt boys. I made some tactical errors in both matches (had to drop the third due to family reasons), but it was mostly a combination of not being aggressive enough in board control maneuvers, and then a million MWs coming at me hard and fast.
Ultimately, this was my first horde style list, and it was a bit of a… culture shock? I was slower than usual, since I’m used to playing elite style armies, I’m sure there will be better pilots than me using a full Darkoath list, but for my money, I’m going to need to do some serious practice to pick up any sort of proficiency with these fellows.
Some things of note:
Enemy players will go hard after some pretty essential lynchpins, like the mounted chieftain, Sarrakar, and the Wilderfiend. While each one can be resummoned with rally the tribes, each tribe rally used on regaining a lost hero is one less tribe rally used on marauders or Fellriders. Losing the double heroic of the mounted chieftan is especially irritating.
The mounted chieftain’s oath is nearly impossible to get and survive after the getting. That +1 to wound aura is nice, but he is oh so squishy.
Clearing the oath of almost every Darkoath unit while also earning and aggregating eye of the gods table rolls is super rough. Even if your marauders clear their oath, much like the chieftain, they’re not likely to survive terribly long after the charge.
The Centaurion was helpful with rally, sort of. Rolled twice to rally some half dead marauders, reinforced, and even with 7+ rally rolls, across two turns, only managed to recover three guys. I think rally the tribes may be better overall than trying to spend a cp to get no guys back.
Additionally, having idolator lord on the Centaurion is nice in theory, but it’s hard to keep him alive long enough to curse a target, especially if he can’t see any of those targets outside of 12”. Weight of dice on spear marauders would have earned a handful of MWs normally, but it’s irrelevant without being able to get curse off. I’m thinking switching to a Kark lord to make a priest to give the roll a little more beef and punchy power.
Khorne Greataxe Theridons can put out a lot of hurt on the charge with savagery unleashed, with the expectation of getting melted after their damage is done, especially nice with curse. Ultimately doesn’t matter if you can’t get the curse off and are at a basically permanent -1 to hit. Their damage skews to completely inconsequential. These guys aren’t the blender Chosen are, but their points are much nicer for their glass cannon status.
A reinforced block of Fellriders does very little in combat; their ranged attacks are superior, but it doesn’t matter much when they’re erased almost immediately by orruk crossbows that seemingly never hit on anything but rolls of fives and sixes, leading to ridiculously high MW counts.
My list finally caused me to realize why so many people complained about MW spam, to which I’d been mostly oblivious, normally running elite bodies with rune wards. There is no coping with MWs with these fellows.
The Gnarlspirit pack are great in theory, but didn’t put in any work. They’re still great for getting an overshadow score in, but I never got to swing with them since they got shot off the board super fast, and missed their only charge opportunity at 7”. Sarrakar was decent, but not exceptional. The mainline sorcerer lord was objectively better just on access to Oracular and Demonic Power alone. Downside is the complete lack of synergy with the DO guys. Eldritch Command artifact was fun though, stealing a Jaws spell twice, forcing the other guy to waste a cast on a dispel both times.
Savagers are mid. Next time I’ll just run Splintered Fang or fit some other battleline in.
I think I’ll try to fit Belakor in my list somehow, I love running him, and having Dark Master for at least one turn might have helped shift some momentum in my favour.
So that’s the off the top of my head notes for my first two games with 3e Ravagers/Darkoath.

2024.05.19 08:46 InitialRemarkable455 What do you do for recreational activities?

I noticed that in gurugram wine and beer shops are decorated with lights as if they are highway dhabas/restaurants or hi-fi malls. Just real malls and thekas decorated as malls. That's the only thing that exists in gurgaon for fun. During my childhood we used to have games period only once or twice a week. Even during those periods all were busy preparing for jee. Indian kids are least interested in sports. I used to make bow and arrows out of broom sticks and try to imitate ramayan Mahabharat characters by holding the arrow in front of my forehead, murmur some gibberish and then letting go of the drawn arrow on some toy placed at a distance. My father snapped and broke my bow and arrows. He was like, "not sending you to such an expensive school just so that you could become a tribal hunter. Go study". One of my father's friends had once gifted me a mouser bb gun for fifth or sixth birthday. My father was furious and angry at him for gifting his son a gun. He was like guns are banned in USA. Guns as toys are for bad kids. I used to like watching martial arts based movies and imitate their actions alone. Father gaslit me by saying that I was trying to be a future criminal. As martial arts are only for goons, thugs, killer, police, army or ultra rich people who just want to show off medals as status symbol. He wanted me to focus only on studies.
Rich shitty kids in my school had Xbox, PlayStation and PC games. They discriminated against me because of obvious status difference. So I had no friends, no siblings or any good memories while growing up. Girls in my class only wanted to hang with those boys who used to play football or basketball for school team. I was good at goalkeeping because of my natural reflexes and height and was also good at taking penalty kicks because of brute strength. But I wasn't good at tackling or dribbling. I used to do a lot of fouls. That's not the reason for which I wasn't allowed to play by the way. The real reason was that they didn't want to get embarassed by me who was a "poor loser" according to them. They used to belittle me because of my looks, skin colour and lack of money. So getting humbled by me on playground obviously used to hurt their ego. Because of that they didn't use to let me play.
Every one in my office just smokes tobacco or drinks alcohol. That is the definition of having a good time or celebration according to them. I noticed that Indians just drink(alcohol), spit(paan gutka), smoke (tobacco) and do drugs. Like isn't there anything else for recreational activities? In urban areas there's malls and I think one can go for hiking or trekking too. But even there Indian gen z and millennials just want to do gaanja and charas at Manali or any other hill station. Why are Indians so much into drugs?
Most of the MMA coaching centres are frauds as per the reviews on Google pages. They charge a leg or an arm but whatever they teach isn't that good as per the reviews.
I want to go to uttrakhand for river rafting, bunjee jumping, sky diving or para gliding. But don't feel brave enough because of the fact that it's India after all. What if the parachute doesn't open, what if the chord breaks, what if the bunjee cable breaks, what if I drown....and also the charges as per Indian economy is too high. As per Indian economy the charges should not be as high as they are. Maybe within a year or two I will finally got for it.

2024.05.19 08:00 ThrowRA-OkayTurtle How do I (F20) break up with my boyfriend (M20) of two years?

I feel as if this page is for fixing a problem in a relationship but I need to use this page to end mine. Yes, my boyfriend (m20) loves me a lot, but him and I (f20) don't see eye to eye. We have been together for a little less than 2 years and we argue all the time and he says he need to fix it but instead of trying to see my point of view, he drops the argument or downgrades me.
Here is some insight on our relationship. We were so good the first year of our relationship. We were best friends for months before our relationship and in the first year we hardly fought. We would call all the time and talk about the most random things. He used to write me huge paragraphs for me to wake up to. Now he plays video games every single night and I never get calls from him. He hasn't written me a paragraph about how much he loves me in forever. When we are together in person we don't talk much anymore. He gets upset that I fall asleep whenever we are together, but honestly I am bored. If I bring up anything he finds a way to argue about it. He gets upset if I am on my phone when we are together and his argument is "if he is watching videos while we are together why should I get my phone out to watch other videos if we could watch them together on his phone?" My argument back is that I don't like watching his videos because I don't really find clips of army movies, motorcycles, or educational videos on stocks interesting. I also suggest that maybe we can watch videos on my phone and he says that my videos are stupid.
It's hard to let go because sometimes we are good and I love his sister. I have already tried breaking up with him and it didn't work. I tried to bring up the conversation three times and I couldn't get the words to come out my mouth so I sent him a text while he was with his friends at frisbee golf saying that it was over and that we need to move on for the good of us as individuals. He replied right away saying that it wasn't over and that he was going to come over whenever he was done with the game. I sent the text at 3pm, he didn't come over until 8:15 to 8:30pm. We both were bawling our eyes out and I kept telling him it was over and it wasn't up for discussion. When he drove off I was heart broken and I am upset that it hurt so bad so when he texted me I came crawling back to him after only 30 minutes from him leaving my house.
This "breakup" happened about a month ago. We were good for about 2 weeks until we started arguing again. We argued about him getting upset that I mentioned a boy I "dated" when I was in elementary school to a group of my old friends in-front of him and he said it was disrespectful. We also argued because I said I wasn't ready to move into a house with him (his requirements for a house was that it had to have two bedrooms so he could use one for his games, 2 bathrooms, and a garage. if you know anything about todays house prices, I wouldn't be able to afford that while going to Nursing school and he said that I should take my money that I have been saving for tuition for the house and that he will save up too but it will take longer because he doesn't make as much as I do)and he is ready to move into a house and I am not at all. He was also saying how he is ready to have a kid i and be married before I finish school but I am not ready at all and every time he brings up our future, we argue.
Breaking up over text didn't work because he showed up to my house, I can't get the words out whenever I try in person. Can I get some advice or pointers on how to do it or start the conversation?

2024.05.19 07:59 Pretty-Avocado4914 Is it Possible to Claim PTSD my Civilian Job caused when retaliating for my Military Service

Hi All, long time lurker, just wrote up a post but somehow it vanished while typing. I used the search and the sub knowledge base but didn't see my question. Looking for some guidance/advice or a success story.
I recently went to a Veterans Center to see if I was eligible for counseling. While there, I shared some traumatic experiences over my 30 year Army Reserve career. The Advisor encouraged me to file a claim for PTSD/Anxiety/Depression.
I retired from the Army Reserve in 2013. In 2008, I was promoted and, that summer, received orders for a 6 week qualification course for my new position. When I returned to my civilian job, my supervisor and manager retaliated in every way possible, making the workplace and life a living hell. My primary care doc knew what was going on and prescribed antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds just so I could get through the workday and not harm anyone or myself. In Jan 2010, my supervisor and manager did something that caused me to have a total stress breakdown. My doctor took me out of work and referred me to the outpatient psych clinic. I was in a really bad way and remained out of work and taking meds and getting treatment for almost 2 years. I won't bore you with all the details, but I was pissed that I burned all my vacation and sick accruals for something they could have prevented. I filed a worker's comp claim which my employer challenged and I won. The judge wrote in the decision, "There is disparate treatment... because she serves in the Army Reserves...She was singled out and harassed due to her military service... her supervisor retaliated against her because she took military leave in 2008... (she) was exposed to a pattern of harassment and retaliation due to her Army Reserves service and an increased level of stress..."
I have a load of civilian medical records related to this, and I believe the psychotherapist (PhD) that I saw for 3+ years would write a nexus letter for me but according to everything I've read, I'm not sure I have a "nexus" to connect PTSD to the military. I was IN the military, and what happened at my job was because I was fulfilling my military obligation, but can I actually make a "service connection" if the stressor occurred at the hands of my civilian employer and not actually the Army? How might that read?
I had stress in my military position-- I lost a deployment opportunity and my records landed in front of a retention board and they were going to chapter me out because of my psych profile, causing me to fear I'd lose my Army career and pension. I was stressed out all the time worrying that I'd be asked to do any additional or special duty outside of drill weekends (my position required a lot of travel) due to fear of how my civilian employer would react or retaliate if I presented orders. When confidentiality was broken and my psych profile/issues were revealed to Soldiers not in my reporting chain, that led to a lot of embarrassment probably other things I'm forgetting.
Is there any hope I might be able to make a nexus-worthy connection between my service and my PTSD/Anxiety/Depression diagnoses when the stressor(s) actually primarily occurred in the civilian workplace?
Thank you!

I've been using the Ride Kings Car Duster for a while now, and let me tell you, it's quite the handy little tool. Its telescopic rod is a game-changer for those of us with a tad less height, as it allows us to reach those high-up spots without stressing our backs. Plus, the rotating and locking mop head ensures versatility and flexibility for a quick dusting session.
What really stands out is the paraffin wax-treated cotton strands that effectively remove dust and pollen without the need for water. Not only does it save water, but it's also gentle on all surfaces, making it a must-have for those who live in dusty environments like desert or coastal regions. The soft, natural, 100% cotton fibers don't scratch the finish, leaving behind no lint after use.

I recently got my hands on the upra Ultimate Car Duster Kit, and I must say, this is the best car duster set I've ever used. Not only does it have a sturdy build that won't fall apart or unravel over time, but it also features a special design and tight joint that prevents snagging things on or in my car.
One of the things that stood out to me the most was the set's large car duster with a minimum length of 22.8 inches and a maximum length of 32.6 inches. Along with the circular one measuring 11.8 inches in diameter and 4.33 inches in length, and a mini car air vent duster with a dimension of 6.3 inches, this kit has got me covered for all my car cleaning needs.
The fine material applied, high-class microfiber, makes sure I leave no lint or wax behind – something I appreciate when I want my car to look as good as new both indoors and outdoors. With its powerful dust or dirt removing performance, this car duster has saved me a significant amount of time and money and works for all vehicle types, from trucks to SUVs and even motorcycles.
Now, I must say, it does require some maintenance, but it's worth the investment considering how efficient and easy to operate it is. Upra really knows how to create a top-notch product, and their Ultimate Car Duster Kit is the perfect proof of that.

The California Mini Duster has been a game-changer in my daily life. I've been using it for dusting both at home and in my car, and let me tell you, it's made a huge difference in the cleanliness of my interiors.
One of the standout features of this product is the baked-in wax treatment. It's not just a cleaner, but also a protector for my vehicle's interior. I've noticed that after using the Mini Duster, the surfaces seem to have a nice shine, which is thanks to that special wax treatment.
However, one downside I've found is that while it's great for dusting, it does tend to leave a bit of lint behind. Not a lot, but enough to notice. I've had to shake it out a few times, and I've even ended up using a small brush to get rid of the excess lint.
The Mini Duster's compact size is another plus, making it perfect for on-the-go use. It fits in the palm of my hand and doesn't take up much space in my car, which is super handy.
Using the Mini Duster has made me appreciate just how much dust I didn't realize was lying around. Now, I find myself using it all the time, and I can definitely say that it's been a great addition to my cleaning arsenal.

The Original California Car Duster Platinum Mini Dash Duster has been a game-changer in my life. The special paraffin wax-treated cotton strands make it super easy to lift dust off without leaving any marks behind.
The attractive wood handle is not only visually appealing but also sturdy and comfortable to hold. While I enjoy using it for auto purposes, its versatility has proven to be beneficial in my home as well. However, I must mention a minor inconvenience - there was no vinyl storage bag included as mentioned.
Nonetheless, it's a fantastic product worth considering for anyone seeking an effortless solution to dust removal.

As someone who's always on the lookout for a car duster that leaves no trace, I gave the bzczh Soft Microfiber Car Duster a try. I've been using it for a few weeks now, and I must say, it's been a game-changer.
This duster is incredibly soft, making it perfect for gently removing dust from the exterior of your car without causing any damage. I'm impressed by how well it picks up even the tiniest particles, leaving my car's surface spotless.
The extendable handle is really convenient, allowing me to reach those hard-to-reach spots without straining my back. And the best part? No pesky lint, pollen, or swirl marks to worry about.
However, one downside I noticed is that the duster seems to lose some of its softness after a few washes. But it's not a deal-breaker, as the results are still noticeably better than what I've experienced with other dusters.
In conclusion, the bzczh Soft Microfiber Car Duster definitely lives up to its name, providing a gentle yet effective solution for keeping your car's exterior dust-free. Despite the minor downside, its pros outweigh the cons, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a car duster that truly delivers.

🔗Professional Quality Car Duster for Spotless Interior Detailing

I recently discovered the TAKAVU Interior Car Detail Duster and couldn't be happier with the result. As a car enthusiast, I've been searching for a dusting solution that not only leaves my vehicle looking incredible but also doesn't require constant maintenance.
This car duster truly exceeded my expectations. Its electrostatic microfiber chenille is a game-changer, as it captures and locks away dust and debris without leaving traces of lint or residue behind. I appreciated how effortlessly it tackles various surfaces, from my car's interior to other items around the house.
However, I did encounter a minor issue with the design. The duster occasionally needed some repositioning to ensure complete coverage, but it was a small price to pay for the overall results.
Despite this minor inconvenience, I still highly recommend the TAKAVU Interior Car Detail Duster. Its ability to leave my car's interior spotless has saved me countless trips to the car wash, and it has become a staple in my detailing toolkit. Plus, it's an excellent gift for car lovers in your life!

🔗Car Duster with Solid Wood Handle and Soft Dusting Fibers

I recently received the Classic Car Duster with a solid wood handle for my daily car maintenance. The long and narrow design of the duster allows me to easily access those tight and hard-to-reach areas, making it a fantastic tool for those who are particular about their car's appearance.
One of the most significant features that stood out to me was the 3-inch long threads, which attract and lift dust from the vehicle's surface. I've noticed a marked improvement in the overall cleanliness and shine of my car thanks to this duster.
However, it is essential to note that due to the 100% cotton construction, there may be some lint and wax residue during the initial use. But once this product breaks in, it becomes even softer and continues to perform exceptionally well for years to come. Frequent shaking before, during, and after use helps to prevent this issue.
Lastly, I appreciate the durable storage cover included in the package, which ensures the duster remains in pristine condition when not in use. Overall, I highly recommend this Classic Car Duster for anyone looking to achieve that showroom finish every time.

🔗Extendable Car Duster Set with Anti-Rust Stainless Steel Brush

Riding around in a dusty car is never fun, but with the Ride Kings Car Duster Set, it's become easier to keep your vehicle clean. This clever car duster set comes with an extendable handle, perfect for reaching areas like the roof, windshield, and hood of large vehicles. The ergonomic handle is soft and comfortable to grip, even during long cleaning sessions.
One of the standout features of this car duster set is its dual-brush head. The large brush head covers a larger area and quickly removes dust, while the smaller brush is perfect for tackling those hard-to-reach spots. The set also comes with a stainless steel brush rod that's light yet strong, with a non-slip, soft foam handle for even more convenience.
What's especially cool about this car duster set is its portability. The brush set can be carried in the trunk of your car for easy use during road trips. With its removable brush head, you can easily fold it and store it for optimal travel convenience.
Not only is this car duster set functional, but it's also eco-friendly. Its paraffin-treated cotton thread can effectively remove dust and pollen without using water, making it ideal for those living in desert or coastal areas.
One minor drawback is that the Ride Kings Car Duster Set is not suitable for wet use. But overall, with its retractable handle, flexible brush head, and gentle touch, this set is the perfect addition to any car care routine.

🔗Universal Car Duster with Extension and Rotation Features

A few weeks ago, I decided to try out the Triple Threat Extending and Rotating Truck and RV Duster from California Car Duster. As someone who's always on the go, I needed a versatile duster that could handle my busy lifestyle. I was curious to see if it could live up to the hype and clean my dusty SUV with ease.
Right out of the box, I was impressed with the duster's aluminum handle. The extension feature made it simple to adjust the length, reaching high areas like the roof of my vehicle. The larger duster head was perfect for getting into tight spaces and hard-to-reach corners in my SUV and garage.
However, I did notice a small issue with the rotating feature - it didn't spin as freely as I would have liked. And at times, the brush seemed to move dust around instead of lifting it efficiently. Still, I could see the wax-treated 100% cotton mop working its magic on lighter dust.
The best part was the convenient storage bag that came with it. I could easily slip it in the back of my SUV when I needed to use it, and keeping the duster in a safe place ensured it would always be clean and ready to use when I needed it.
Overall, the Triple Threat Extending and Rotating Truck and RV Duster from California Car Duster was a helpful addition to my car care routine. It made cleaning my SUV quicker and more efficient, and the extension feature and storage bag were thoughtful touches. While there were some minor drawbacks, I would still recommend this duster to anyone looking for an easy and effective way to keep their SUV or RV clean.

The marine varnished solid wood handle adds a touch of sophistication, while the duster's head is crafted from superb 100% cotton threads.
These cotton threads are infused with a unique wax formula, which makes them gentle and perfect for cleaning delicate surfaces. However, it's essential to note that the duster may initially leave some lint and wax residue as you use it for the first few times. This is completely normal, and the residue will gradually diminish as the duster breaks in and gets softer.
The duster boasts an extra-large head which significantly reduces cleaning time and ensures that your car or truck always has a shiny, showroom finish. Its durability is unmatched, and its storage cover, made of heavy gauge vinyl, ensures the duster head is protected while not in use.

I've been using the California Duster for months now, and it's been a game-changer for keeping my car's interior clean and free of dust. The paraffin wax-treated cotton mop is perfect for its intended purpose, providing an effortless and gentle dust-lifting experience without damaging my car's surfaces.
One of the most notable features of the California Duster is its clever design, with a rounded shape that makes reaching even the trickiest corners and tight spaces a breeze. Not only does this help keep my dashboard looking pristine, but it also works wonders on various household surfaces, from mini blinds and shutters to appliances.

🔗Unique Ostrich Feather Duster for Car Cleaning

For the past couple of weeks, I've been using the Aldwin Ostrich Feather Duster as part of my daily house cleaning routine. Let me tell you, it's like having a little army of soft, fluffy soldiers fighting against dust and grime. Each feather feels like a million tiny cleaning superheroes, gently gliding through the air, tackling every smudge and speck in their path.
One of the things I love about this duster is its eco-friendliness. The feathers are sourced from farmed ostrich, ensuring no harm is done to the environment or endangered species. And the fact that the feathers are washed, deodorized, deinsectized, and fumigated before use? That's just an extra bonus.
The wooden handle is a great addition, providing a sturdy connection between the feathers and the handle. It's just one of those things that makes this duster feel solid and reliable in your hand. And speaking of handling, the ostrich feathers are static-free, which means they don't leave any annoying little particles on your clothes or furniture.
The best part is that this duster is reusable and washable. You can simply wash it in warm water and let it dry, and it's as good as new. It's like having a little cleaning companion that you can take anywhere, from your home to your car.
However, I will say that the duster does require a bit of care when it comes to storing it. Since the feathers are delicate, it's important to hang it or place it in a vase where it won't be crushed or bent. But all in all, it's a fantastic product that's made a significant difference in my cleaning routine.

I've been using the Original California Car Duster Black Mini Duster in my car for a few weeks now, and I must say, it's a game-changer. What stands out the most is its ability to lift dust from even the toughest to reach spots, both inside and out. Buyer's Guide

When it comes to maintaining the cleanliness of your car's interior, a car duster is an essential tool. It helps remove dust, dirt, and debris from your car's surfaces without causing any scratches. However, with so many different car dusters on the market, it can be challenging to know which one is right for you. Here are some important features, considerations, and advice to help you make the best choice.

Material

https://preview.redd.it/45261a48pb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5bb60155d2d64389b39dcb6343228374d08ab0e0
The material of the car duster is crucial. It should be made of soft, non-abrasive, and durable material that won't damage your car's interior. Common materials include microfiber, cotton, and polyester. Microfiber is a popular choice because it's soft, gentle, and effective at picking up dirt and dust. However, it may be more expensive than other materials. Cotton and polyester are also good options, but they might not be as effective at picking up fine dust as microfiber.

Size and Shape

The size and shape of the car duster can impact its effectiveness and ease of use. Look for a duster with a head that's large enough to cover a significant area but not so large that it's difficult to maneuver. The shape should be designed to cover a wide range of surfaces, such as dashboard, console, and seats. Some car dusters come with different attachments for specific tasks, like cleaning vents or tight spaces.

Handle Length

The length of the handle can make a big difference in your comfort and reach. Consider the height of your car's interior and ensure the handle is long enough to reach all areas easily. If you have a low-slung car or need to clean high areas, look for a car duster with an adjustable handle.

https://preview.redd.it/gir1a7p8pb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=450b10e3b0ab25d5f7295d8d2bfe0eb150bf25fc

Maintenance

A car duster should be easy to clean and maintain. Look for a duster with a removable and washable head to make cleaning simpler. Some car dusters also come with a storage bag or pouch to keep them organized when not in use.

Price

Price is always an important factor when considering a product. Car dusters can range in price from budget options to high-end models. Consider how much you're willing to spend and what features are most important to you when deciding on a car duster. Remember that a higher price doesn't always guarantee better quality.

Reader Reviews and Ratings

https://preview.redd.it/4fxm55l9pb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c50b823120cc07622f381f7e6eb282f1d0bf0791
Reading reviews and ratings from other buyers can help you make a more informed decision. Look for car dusters with high ratings and positive reviews. Pay attention to feedback on ease of use, durability, and effectiveness.
When it comes to choosing the right car duster, it's essential to consider factors like material, size, shape, and maintenance. By doing your research and finding the best car duster for your needs, you'll be able to keep your car's interior clean and beautiful.

FAQ

What is a Car Duster?

A Car Duster is a tool commonly used by car enthusiasts and professionals to quickly and easily remove dust, dirt, and debris from cars. It is designed to avoid the scratches and swirls that can be caused by regular wiping or cleaning methods.

https://preview.redd.it/3oqpq5t9pb1d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=abefd10fcbf64ae101739735bd1ee0fc4103d462

How does a Car Duster work?

A Car Duster typically consists of a soft, microfiber cloth that is loosely attached to a handle. When the user lightly runs the duster across the car's surface, the static electricity built up in the microfiber cloth attracts and picks up dust and dirt particles. This method helps to prevent scratching, as the cloth does not have to physically rub against the car's surface.

What types of Car Dusters are available?

There are several types of Car Dusters available in the market, such as: * Flat Car Dusters
  • Rectangular Car Dusters
  • Half-Round Car Dusters
  • Fiber Wand Car Dusters
Different types of Car Dusters cater to varying needs and preferences, and it's essential to choose the one that works best for you based on your requirements.

Can a Car Duster be used on all car surfaces?

Yes, a Car Duster can be used on most surfaces of a car, including exterior paint, windows, mirrors, and even the interior. However, it is crucial to avoid using it on delicate areas such as rubber trim or plastic parts that can get damaged by static. Always read the product instructions and test it on a small, inconspicuous area before use on any specific part of the car.

How often should I use a Car Duster?

The frequency of using a Car Duster depends on your personal preference and the level of dust and debris your car accumulates. However, it is generally recommended to clean your car regularly to prevent dirt buildup, protect the paint, and maintain its overall appearance. A weekly or bi-weekly maintenance routine can ensure your car stays clean and well-maintained.

How do I clean and maintain my Car Duster?

To clean your Car Duster, you can simply wipe it thoroughly with a damp cloth, or use a mild detergent and water solution if it's severely dirty. After cleaning, allow the duster to air dry completely to prevent any mold or mildew growth. To maintain the effectiveness of the duster, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prolong its lifespan.

2024.05.19 07:53 Nirdee Early Review of MoP ReMix, the Good and the Bad

Hi all. I binged the first couple days and have a hunter in the high 60s. Overall, I think it was pretty good, but feels very much like an alpha with a big problem in the heart of the concept. The following feedback is intended with that perspective--good, but could use a lot of iteration and feels a bit dishonest.
Good:
Bad:
Overall, fun, but the "fast leveling event" that is slower than retail leaves a really bad feeling. I am going to be salty to when in months two and three Blizzard "listens to our feedback" and makes the XP buffs work as advertised to try and milk some more subs in the downtime before TWW. It feels like the kind of time-sink design people complain about from BFA and Shadowlands, but with some propaganda--"you aren't playing through old content extra slow, it's fast! Just look at that number in the corner. It's 126% faster. It says it right there in the corner." I thought I was going to be more positive when I started writing this, but the alt army I have is going to be set aside I think. Maybe I'll try some Season 4.

2024.05.19 07:23 Eastern-Ability-2894 John Kreese is the most tragic character in the whole Karate Kid/Cobra Kai Universe.

John Kreese is the most tragic character in the whole Karate Kid/Cobra Kai Universe.
In the Karate kid and Cobra Kai Universe, John Kreese has the most tragic life story ever. In my opinion he is also one of the most tragic characters in film/tv history.
Kreese grew up without a father and had a mentally ill mother who sadly killed herself when he was a young man of only 19 years old, leaving young Kreese to fend for himself. To add more tragedy to an already tragic loss, he was constantly bullied by others because of his mother's actions. Eventually things in life started to look more promising for Kreese as one day in 1965 he met a beautiful young lady named Betsy while working as a bus boy at a diner. After witnessing Betsy's then boyfriend David abusing her, Kreese stepped in to save her, beating up David and his friend, Kreese then offered Betsy a ride home which she happily accepted with a big smile to Kreese.
For the next couple of years Kreese and Betsy dated, they adored each other so much and were madly in love, eventually he left her and headed to basic training for the US Army. Kreese said his goodbyes to the love of his life, Betsy, along with a few kisses, promising to not only return home to her but also that he'll come back a hero. By 1968 Kreese was already in Vietnam serving, he quickly gained a reputation for basically having a death wish, a reputation which caught the attention of Captain George Turner who was putting together a Special Task Force Unit, after meeting Turner, Kreese joined his unit, choosing his good friends Ponytail and Twig, aka Terry Silver to also join the group. Captain Tuner was a Korean War veteran who learned Tang Soo-Do from Master Kim Sun-Yung of South Korea. Turner taught Kreese, Silver and Ponytail many aspects of warfare including hand to hand combat. During that time though Turner would often berate Kreese for his inability to shed his humanity during physical confrontations, as Kreese was still fighting with mercy. During a sparring match with Turner, Kreese landed a good punch on him, but he briefly lowered his guard which Turner immediately took advantage of, sending Kreese to the ground. Turner went on to explain that it's either kill or be killed and that you never have second thoughts or hestiate and you show your enemy no mercy.
Soon after Kreese pulled out a picture of Betsy, a photograph which she had sent him earlier on and while looking at her photo, Kreese said that he'll be home soon, but tragically that would never happen as Betsy was already gone by that point, passing away in a fatal car accident. Though Captain Turner did receive a letter that said she had tragically passed away but he never told Kreese or even gave him that letter. Later on during a mission to eliminate a Viet Cong encampment, Silvers radio erupted, giving away their position to the enemy, Turner ordered Kreese to detonate the explosive charge which Ponytail had just set but Kreese hesitated as Ponytail was still in the blast radius. Ponytail tried to run away but was caught by some Vietnamese soldiers who knocked him to the ground. The rest of the unit was then captured as well with Ponytail being executed right in front of them soon after. For the next year or so Kreese, Silver and Turner plus the rest of the unit were subjected to numerous methods of torture including being locked inside a bamboo cage and being forced to fight one another to the death on a platform suspended above a pit full of snakes, all for the amusement of the Vietnamese soldiers.
Sometime in 1969, Captain Turner and Terry Silver were chosen to fight each other but Kreese decided to take Silver's spot and fight their Captain instead. Turner who still hadn't forgiven Kreese for his actions in getting all of them captured cruelly revealed and even mocked that Betsy had died in a car accident. The news of her death profoundly impacted Kreese as he was clearly so devastated, initially dropping to one knee in pain, trying to process what he had just heard. Captain Turner early on in the fight had the upper hand on Kreese who was still very distraught by the news of Betsy's tragic death, but Kreese then became very enraged and defeated Captain Turner. Kreese showed his Captain no mercy by stomping Turner's hand as he was hanging by the platform suspended above the snake pit, Captain Turner fell to his death in a pit full of snakes. After the Captain's demise and still standing on the platform, Kreese immediately closed his eyes and let out a breath, in that moment Kreese was reborn, the kind hearted man with compassion and mercy had died with his love Betsy and now Kreese was starting to embrace a much darker side of himself, This is where Kreese first adopted his Strike First, Strike Hard and No Mercy moto. Kreese then freed the rest of the unit including the young Terry Silver who hugged Kreese and promised him a life long debt for saving his life. Kreese would also go on to save Silver more times between 1969 and 1975.
After his victory over the snake pit, Kreese and the other surviving members of the unit earned berets as well as battlefield commissions as officers in the US Army. Kreese would continue to Serve in the US Army Green Berets, earning the rank of Captain himself before leaving the military in 1975. Kreese also became the US Army's Karate Champion, a title he held from 1970 to 1972. He returned home to the valley very hardened and embittered by the numerous bereavements he suffered during the war, especially with the loss of his beloved Betsy. Soon after returning home in 1975 Kreese would co-found Cobra Kai Dojo alongside Terry Silver, teaching new generations the way of the fist and the same creed that Turner had once taught him, and the rest is history as we know it.
So Kreese is definitely the most tragic character in all of Karate Kid and Cobra Kai. He was a very good and kind hearted man that was twisted by unfathomable amounts of pain, loss, suffering and extreme violence from war. All Kreese wanted was to live a normal life, to serve his country and be a hero, to marry and have a family of his own one day with the only woman he ever truly cared about and really loved, Besty, but all Kreese got in the end was losing everything and everybody, leaving him with absolutely nothing. So Kreese shredded his humanity and buried all emotions deep, he stopped feeling when his Besty died, overtime building himself into the completely merciless, heartless and vicious karate sensei he is today.
His very sad and tragic backstory also helps us understand why in Kreese's mind, there is no middle ground, that survival has to mean the absolute defeat or death of your enemy, whether it's on the streets or in competition, even in the dojo, survival in life depends on that kill or be killed mentality which was psychologically engraved into Kreese through the brutality of war, his Captains cruel teachings and the very tragic/ profounding losses Kreese suffered in his life, the most impactful and damaging of all being the death of his sweetheart Betsy.
Though today John Kreese is a very cruel, vicious, merciless and cold hearted person, i still feel a great pity for him.

2024.05.19 07:05 Educational-Ad30 My ghost is chill

Ever since i can remember, paranormal shit just happens around me. I blame this on my family’s wiccan roots. What strikes me as weird is I am not a girl. I am a male, yet other than my aunt I have had more paranormal encounters than most of my family.
My latest is possibly my favorite.
I live In an old army barracks and if you know anything about soldiers than you know they are professional shit heads.
My new ghost is a girl, I know this because she woke me up One night by asking in a panicked tone “who are you?” For the first month or so she would do this right before or right after I woke up.
Once she got used to me she started fucking with me.
I am a very disorganized adhd organized individual. Things have a place even if they only make sense to me. So when my belt disappeared for an entire month before popping right back up where I left it. I had to chuckle. Or when the room would get a littlw messy so she would knock the broom over in the next room.
Cheeky.
One night she turned on an…..”adult toy” I had three times in a row.
Across the room it just turned on. I turned it off she turned it back on.
She likes fucking with electronics for some reason. The first one ive met that has such an interest in turning things on or off.
Most recently I was telling this story to a friend on the computer through discord and she shut my pc off.
I got annoyed so I told her to knock it off.
She turned it off again.
I got angry and told her to calm the f*ck down.
She than turned my computer back off, turned my xbox on and the monitor off.
It was like something out of a movie.
Id almost say I had an electrical problem if I hadnt seen her turn on battery powered things around the house. I think its my fault for communicating with her though. The one thing I was taught since the cradle is do not speak to them. They are not your friends.
Shes never hurt me, Only given me a scare once or twice.

2024.05.19 06:48 Few-Adagio4425 Getting out of poverty is tough

After a year in NZ I moved back to Perth. Things didn’t go so well for me over there and hence I had to leave in a hurry for my own well being. I arrived in Perth with very little money and aware I’d have to sleep rough for a little while until I could find a job.
Trying to get a job when you have no money is tough, so many roles require a police clearance which costs money, a qualification or induction which also costs money (such as a white card etc)
Medical checks which for smaller companies costs the applicant money.
I’ve spent a fair bit on the little money I had getting on these kind of things.
I’m trying really hard to get my self out of this homeless existence. I shower everyday, keep my appearance tidy and apply apply apply for so much.
I’m a relatively intelligent person with a lot of different roles that I’ve previously held, however apart from basic qualifications like an rsa or white card I don’t really have any specialties like a diploma or degree. I also have mild tinnitus and telling any prospective employer that usually means a stroke goes through your name.
I don’t want much, just a basic entry level role and to rent a room and get my life back on track. But my god it’s hard, I can’t imagine how hard it must be for others who don’t have awareness or brains to keep up their appearance and put in the effort……I guess that’s why so many people just “give up” and accept their life on the fringe of society.
I don’t use any drugs, have no outstanding convictions, haven’t even been in so much as a fight in my life, no face Tatts or messsed up piercings etc.
I’ll keep fighting to get my self up, hopefully the break through will come. But each day the hope fades just that little bit more.
Anyone know whether using the Salvation Army employment agency is worth it?

2024.05.19 06:35 mahdingdingdong Price aside, are you excited for the MH3 Commander decks?

So, how's everyone feeling about the spoiled cards so far? Obviously price aside, because I don't think they'll be worth the money shops will initially try to sell them for... Do you think they'll be decent decks?
When there was that massive leak, I was so excited for the Eldrazi deck! There were so many splashy, overpowered cards that made me go "this is so extra, it's dumb. It's perfect for casual". Then after that initial wave, there were so many spoiled cards that fuelled the hypothesis that the deck would be filled with mediocre cards with 'devoid', so now I'm split...
The Tarmogoyf deck doesn't seem that good tbh. Tarmogoyf is a bad card in EDH, IMO. Yes, they tried to spice up the goyfs and the commander ability is cool, but having an army of tarmogoyfs is still kinda meh, I'd say. I didn't spot any broken cards there. Could be a fun, definitely nostalgic deck, but as for power level, nothing special (don't get me wrong, sometimes a fun deck is better than a powerful one, as I'm pretty much playing in a casual pod).
Simic seems to be doing simic things. I don't think it'll be particularly powerful out of the box, but it opens up a lot of avenues for simic degeneracy. I love the potential it has (which I'll definitely steal from the creative people here), but I don't think it'll be strong from the get go.
The energy deck is the one I'm most indifferent to. I don't particularly enjoy energy counters and I just got the Fallout energy deck. However, I did see some amazing powerful energy cads spoiled, so maybe this will turn things around. I also dislike the art of the commander. He looks like he's about to ask me "tall, grande or venti" while low-key trying to tell me to listen to his new track on Spotify.
Again, price aside, from the things we've seen spoiled, what are your thoughts on the decks? Both on out-of-the-box power and the upgrade potential.

Record iPhone Call Without Apps - Easy Guide
Today you are going to have all the information about how to record calls on an iPhone by taking advantage of certain tricks, in addition to other solutions that also exist.
I’m sure you’ve wanted to record a call on your iPhone because it was crucial for you to have all the details of what had been discussed in that conversation, but you didn’t know how to achieve it.

Recording a Call on Your iPhone with a Trick

To be able to have in your possession the proof of a conversion that you have maintained can be very important, depending to a large extent on what has been discussed in what you have spoken about.
As usual, if it is a conversation between two people, the recording should be completely private, unless an agreement is reached between both parties. If it is one where several people interact, if one of the participants does not give their approval, it can no longer be carried out.
Being able to record calls on an iPhone might disappoint you a bit, especially if you don’t intend to use third-party shortcuts since its operating system is restrictive there.

Is it legal to record a call on an iPhone?

If I had to answer this question, the truth is that I couldn’t do it outright. That is, you can make a recording as long as you are part of the conversation, so you must be an active subject of the conversation at all times.
Calls that you record but that are unrelated-those in which you are not part of the conversation-are not legal because they violate people’s right to privacy.
However, there is another case where it is illegal, and that is when the person you are talking to is a minor, regardless of everything else, since it is something that is not allowed under any circumstances.
Nor can they be carried out if there is a person who explicitly refuses to allow the conversation to be recorded when there are several interlocutors.

Record a call on your iPhone with a trick.

Let’s start with the idea that with the iPhone you can’t record calls natively; it’s something that not even with the latest update is allowed, so you have to think of them in a different way.
There is a somewhat rudimentary way to achieve this that will allow you to achieve it, although you may even need help.
The Voice Memos app on your iPhone allows you to record the call through the iPhone’s speakerphone, so you could use it perfectly to record a conversation.
It’s a good way to get everything you say in a call recorded, plus you can even have a widget to make access faster and be able to use it as soon as the chat starts.

Record a conversation on your iPhone using Skype

https://preview.redd.it/0nkm10yf9b1d1.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=1e259f76e3aaba2235bdf227ab764f9ac4391488
There is another way to record a call on the iPhone using Skype, the famous app with which you can have conversations and video calls.
This Microsoft service can make calls in the cloud by recording the entire conversation, retaining what was recorded for 30 days.
To record a conversation on your iPhone using Skype., you must perform a series of extremely simple steps that you are going to know right now:
  • Once you’re in the conversation, tap Record (desktop) or go to More Options, then tap Start Recording.
  • You’ll see a sign appear informing you and the participants that the conversation is being recorded.
  • When finished, the recording will be posted to Skype chat for 30 days.

Capturing Conversations Using Zoom

Something very similar to what you just saw with Skype, it can be done on Zoom and thus record the conversation you want with whoever you need.
On Zoom, you can make a voice call, which you will be able to save to have the conversation safe for when you need it.
When you’ve started the call on your iPhone, all that’s left is to hit the More button and choose Cloud Recording. It’s that simple.
Both Skype and Zoom provide reliable options for recording calls without the need for additional installations.
With these two steps, you will be able to record the conversation that is taking place at that precise moment-something extremely simple, and that can mean having a quality recording.

Conclusion

Now you know how to record a call on an iPhone without apps or installing anything, with a trick that can be somewhat rudimentary, but also with two apps that everyone has used at some point, and that can be the perfect solution.
Be that as it may, you must be careful how you make the recording, especially so as not to fall into illegality. We must always stay on the margins that are marked for us for better coexistence.

2024.05.19 06:22 Vagabundodelamor WIBTA If I just threw my whole life away and moved to another continent?

Throwaway because some of the people in this story know my real reddit.
I (25M) am married. My wife (28F) and I are separated, and will probably, eventually, divorce. She lives in the Midwest, I live in New York. She's close (geographically) to her parents, I'm an immigrant and all the people I love live so far away they may as well be on the moon. My likely soon-to-be ex-wife and I have a decently good relationship - there wasn't any big fighting before the split. She just didn't like me anymore. According to herself, she still cares a lot about me and wants to see me do well and be happy. She wants us to remain friends, but plainly I don't fucking want to. It makes me violently sick to my stomach to imagine myself bearing witness to the woman I loved getting together with some other dude, no matter how much she says she "doesn't think about it in terms of betteworse, just 'right' for her". This is important context.
I have a good career making alright money (enough to live on, at least - not many luxuries) in probably the most prestigious institution of its kind in the US. I graduated from a meh university in a field I never intended to work in. I'm not anything special at my job, just an office drone that occasionally plans events for my section of the company, but it's a hell of a thing to put on a resume. I don't have many friends here in NY outside of my cubicle buddy - lots of acquaintances that I make at the bar every time I go, because people love me when I'm wasted and funny, but nobody that stuck around after I stopped drinking for fitness reasons. I live in a tiny bedroom in an apartment shared with 4 people. I don't go out to save money. I occasionally engage with my hobby, which is scale models of military stuff, but lately I've had little will to do so. I spend close to 1/4 of my salary on a personal trainer, because I can't get the idea out of my head that my ex dumped me for not being hot enough, and I spend two hours every morning before work and three hours on Saturday at the gym, which is basically my main hobby right now. All this is to say, I'm a vain boring guy with no friends stuck in a shitty office job.
I wasn't like this when I was younger. I went to every party back in my hometown. Every time I visited on Spring Break or Summer people would fall over themselves to invite me to parties, when I left for college at 18 something like 200 people got together to burn an effigy of me as a big joke farewell. I was somebody. Every time I used to talk about this to my STB ex, she would get this look on her face like I was telling her I used to do heroin and crack. She's very proper, very ladylike, very respectable. I used to do keg-stands and break into abandoned water parks to smoke weed and graffiti the walls. I also come from a respectable family, so I had triple pressure between my parents and my sister and her to become an upstanding member of society. So now I don't do any of the shit that used to make me happy, and I'm no longer with the person who used to make me happy. It's not even like I can go back to doing that, either - my alcohol tolerance plummeted, I get bad hangovers since I turned 23, and I just don't really *feel* like it anymore.
My best friend back home and I were military otaku. We were always going off about how we'd join the French Foreign Legion together, or the Spanish Legion, or whatever mercenary army would take us. Back then I was out of shape so it was a pie in the sky dream, literally teenage bullshit. My best friend recently lost his long term girlfriend to leukemia, and he called me to tell me he's going to go enlist in the Spanish Legion. I knew he was telling me because he wants me to go with him. The way I am now I could absolutely crush the physical portion of enlistment and being that I have no criminal record and a college degree, the other requirements are taken care of. Absolute worst case scenario, this being the military, I get shot or blown up and die or end up disabled. Best case scenario, I survive the tour and get to live in Spain, with a nice climate, people of a familiar and less friendless culture, and lots of cultural things I like to do. Compared to here, even if I have no friends over there, I could at least go watch my favorite football team play on a regular basis.
Every time I've told my family that I want to go back home, they freak out, because they think I have the perfect life, making shitloads of money working in a super-prestigious office, helping the needy, in the "world capital", so I know that if they found out that I ditched all of that to go march around in tight green pants for a flag that isn't even mine they'd likely disown me. My stb ex-wife also would probably freak out. They all think I have such a great life, that this was all a great opportunity and that I'm living the dream, and yet I'm miserable and lonely and literally purposeless. I just wake up every Monday and go put in a shift at a place I couldn't give less of a shit about and go home to do nothing except play FIFA and chat with my guys on Discord. If I just fucking die over there, I don't have to see my ex build her life without me. I thought Midwest-New York would be enough miles. It isn't. If I leave, I would just get rid of all my devices and tell my friends back home to tell my sister, who would probably filter it to everyone. I want to just disappear and be unreachable so I don't have to hear about their happy lives ever again.
Would I be the asshole if I ditch this supposedly perfect life to follow my friend into the military of a country that isn't ours in a completely different continent? Would I be the asshole for rejecting the "opportunity" to live the way I live?

2024.05.19 06:04 Terrible_Dot_2300 Does MEPS have access to VA medical records? Also mental health waivers…

I’m currently speaking with a recruiter to attempt to join the Army National guard, however I was prior service Navy and was honorable discharged for adjustment disorde suicidal ideation.
Essentially, I enlisted at 17 and signed a 6 year active duty contract to serve on submarines, as my recruiter talked me into getting a job I didn’t want at first, (I originally wanted to be a corpsman) but of course young and impressionable teenage me thought my lovely recruit knew better.
Anyway, I ended up serving for around 20 months and the more I learned about submarines the more I hated it and became pretty depressed. The general military stuff I could deal with just fine however the sub stuff was different.
So I eventually spoke to a psychiatrist after confiding in a friend who told me I should just come clean.
I told the psychiatrist that if they put me on a sub I would probably shoot myself, however I still wanted to stay in the Navy. Every doctor and leadership I talked to I told them I still wanted to be in just not on subs.
Well, the psychiatrist still ended up recommending me for separation, and I got out with an honorable discharge.
It’s been about a year and a half since getting out, and I made a VA claim and received 70% for anxiety and depression which I know is going to upset some folks. Sorry.
I told all this to the national guard recruiter who said I may be able to join I would definitely need a few waivers though, however he also said MEPS doesn’t have access to the VA’s medical records which I find hard to believe.
So is it true that MEPS can’t access the VA’s medical records, and based on my history do you think it’s possible for me to join the ARNG?
I haven’t been put on any medication or treatment for any of this.
