2024.05.17 22:54 Lodia_acg fresh GUESS:N may also be a victim of something similar to "Epstein Island" besides evil families

I know it has been 4 months since the S2 Natalia Speaks last updated, but I just finished it, and I'd like to share something I found that didn't be mentioned by other comments.
1.About Natalia's early "sexually active"
The staff once shown a picture to Natalia in S2, it is a photo that the baby Natalia laying on a table with diaper, and there was an old white man looked at her from the top, Natalia said she didn't have any memory about the photo.
To my view, I first noticed the baby Natalia in the photo looks like a product-for-selling rather than a child-to-be-adopted. I think if baby Natalia has been a victim of illegal child trade for sexual trade such as Epstein Island, that make sense to all of her adult-like speaks or behaviors about sexual when Natalia was kid, it is probably a mock of sexually abuse that Natalia experienced or witnessed in the past. Natalia may be aware of what happen to her early childhood to some extent, but her trauma avoid herself dig deeper.
Also, Natalia mentioned she once was chased by a man that wearing a freak mask, but she wasn't caught or hurt by the "wired masks man". I think the "freak mask" might be chemical protective mask.
Why Orphanage needs staff wearing chemical protective mask, walking around at night? Could the man be a producer of illegal drags that used to control little girls, force them to suffer sexually abuse and forget about all?
Natalia was such an adorable girl when she was young, but when she grows up, her disability started to effort on her appearance, and that might save her from been "adopted" as a sexual slave, unfortunately that also lead to her been abandoned in America after sent all the way from Ukraine.
I guess Natalia was taught to pleasure people by those "sexually active" when she was little, even she didn't understand anything at that moment and forgot it all, but those "reward pattern" had underlying in her subconscious. When Natalia felt alone or helpless, it was something could get attention to her and "helped" her from being neglected. So when she was sent to metal hospital or being drop alone in apartment, Natalia stared to act like "sexual deviant" just in order to survived.
And Natalia's trauma behavior was noticed by Kristine early in her adoption, then inspired Kristine to change Natalia's age.
2.Kristine's hatred towards Natalia
A lot of assumptions about Kristine's abuse come up, like financial burden or discriminate of little people, I not going to repeat what was told in S2. There is another assumption: Kristine fears Natalia thread her control of her hasband and sons.
Firstly, Jacob and other kids were born and rise up by Kristine, boys trust Kristine very much, but it didn't work to Natalia. So Kristine's genius generating project fail at Natalia. Maybe Jacob started to doubled about Kristine's story. So Kristine isolated boys from Natalia, and especially forced Jacob to abuse Natalia so that they would's get closed to each other.
Michael was always a perfect accomplice thanks to Kristine's sexual appealing to Michael ļ¼ˆS1 Michael mentionedļ¼‰, but when Kristine noticed Natalia's "sexual behavior", she probably afraid that Michael turned his's coat, stand with Natalia then spoke out their evil things, so Kristine kicked Michael out later.
3. Is Michael Innocent ?
Absolutely NOT.
Obviously Michael knew about every crime he commit, he knew clearly he is guilty, and he freaking out of the past truth were uncovered, so he hires a big lawyer team helped him ran away for jail, well I hope it is temporarily. His facial expressions and movements tells how hard he tried to convince people, also shows how much truth he hided.
What was refused to talk about might be what Michael did against to law.
During Michael's meeting and all the interview, he has never saw Natalia as a family member, NEVER.
And I noticed there was a ring on Michael's ring finger when he met up with Natalia. If he has a new wife that just forget about it, but if he doesn't, that's interesting.
Then Michael successful cheat Natalia by his tear of crocodile, his goal was definitely not the pray or forgiveness from Natalia, but to erase Natalia's any idea of prosecution.
I think if Natalia hadn't forgiven Michael, he could have repeat Kristine's strategy, make story of how crazy Natalia was, blame everything on Kristine, just to get himself innocent.
Jacob is Michael's accomplice this time, helps Michael and himself hide the truth, ready to embrace Michael's bleeding new life. Jacob was innocent when he was a kid, but now he choose to stand with Michael.
4.Why does Mans family change their mind?
I think it also about lost control.
When Mans shown up in S2, I didn't feel they are ideal family for Natalia. Mans family are typical super religious family that adopt a lots kids and think it is their responsibility to guide(control) them. Natalia isn't the only special kid in Mans' family.
Of course Mans family is not Barnet NO.2, they rise Natalia up for so much years, it is fact. Problem comes up probably because Natalia want to be more independent but Mans think they should always been fully control. They were heaven when Natalia was a kid, but things might changed when she is an adult now.
And I guess Mans family might also talks about how intolerable of some behaviors, such as "normal" dirty words, or "sexual deviant". Natalia deny her child "sexually active" probably is also a self-protection for not to losing Mans family's love because of those "guilty experience".
After all, I wish everything could end up with a happy end in final S3.

2024.05.11 12:09 Glad_Speed_9684 I made an oopsie.

I made an oopsie.
So I'm reposting my review because I was a bit naughty in the original one, sorry mods šŸ˜¬šŸ™šŸ».
4 Americans travel to South Africa for a safari experience that turns deadly when they find themselves stranded amungst the dangerous wildlife.
Maybe I'm bias because I was born in South Africa and this film had me feeling homesick, but I enjoyed it even though it does have it's fair share of flaws. Its a refreshing entry in the FF genre that I wish we could see more of.

2024.05.11 08:56 Sivad6293 That guy threatens to burn down other players' houses over a Discord bot.

I shared this story before on another Reddit, but I wanted to tell it again years later after the fact. To start things up, I was by no means the best DM. I look back on myself right now and see that I could have done things a lot better. Still, I was the forever DM who was the only one who would run any games. I asked other people, and they always referred to me. This made me prideful, but looking back I can see how naĆÆve I was and that I needed to learn some hard lessons. Like, first and foremost, Don't invite anyone into the game without careful selection.
This is the story of how I learned that I needed to interview people and get a good feel for them rather than invite friends of a friend. I will be referring to players by different names to protect their identities.
We begin with my friend. We'll call him Jack. Jack is a good guy. Though I can never tell if he is telling the truth or lying. The way he talks sometimes makes it seem like he is making these Munchausen-esque grandiose stories. For example: he once told me that he knew without a shadow of a doubt that World of Warcraft was coming to the Xbox. At the time I laughed this off until Microsoft bought Activision Blizzard, and now that became quite a possibility.
Anyway, we were playing Red Dead online together. Jack had brought a friend. We'll call him Gary Stu. That guy. At first, he seemed to be just as chill as Jack. Jack mentioned that I was a DM and had stories to share. I told him all of the wacky stories that happened in my game which had been running for a couple of years at that point. He was enraptured by the antics of one of my players who tried to break into prison just to kill a cultist. He asked if I was open to having more players, wanting to join my game. Thinking he had a decent story about a character he wanted to do, I decided to test the waters for a bit.
I eventually set up a One Shot with him and his character. He and another player were tasked with delving deep into an ancient tomb. Archeologists had found something in the black sands. The workers had all vanished and it was the duo's task to venture into the tomb. Together, Gary Stu and a Dragonborn sorcerer we'll call "Greg" were tasked with finding out what happened. After avoiding several traps and dangers, they eventually come across a large room. They inadvertently release an ancient Lich named Naziem, The left hand of Malarand, The first lich in this world. It was a decent fight, but Naziem nearly killed Gary Stu. Fortunately, Greg was able to make the killing blow, but Naziem had hidden his phylactery in the world, A common tactic he did, Hence why he was sealed away rather than destroyed. Naziem was destroyed, but he swore revenge.
Naziem would be Gary's Arch nemesis going forward. All in all this one shot was very fun, and everyone had a blast. Little had I known that the near-death experience would prove to be the catalyst for future actions.
I liked Gary's roleplay enough that I decided to bring him into the main campaign. For the next few sessions, things progressed very well. And then I brought in Natalia. Natalia was a princess who the rest of the party was familiar with. I thought that the party would enjoy having her around as a helper NPC. A character who wanted to good for goodness sake. She had disguised herself as a masked Zoro like figure named "The Thrush." She and Gary hit it off very well, and a romance had started to bloom. But eventually, things turned into crap after that.
In one instance, Gary used an ability that was basically a flashbang. However, He neglected the fact that Natalia was in the way. This was bad enough, but the party was in the underdark fighting a small horde of Intellect devourers. These things had no eyes. So he had effectively blinded Natalia. Then he tries to stab an intellect devourer. He gets a Nat 1. I roll and determine the outcome. He ended up stabbing Natalia in the leg. Natalia's turn rolls up. I roll to attack...Nat 1. I roll for the outcome...She ends up stabbing HIM in the leg with her Rapier. The other party members are laughing hysterically at this, but Gary goes quiet. The fight is wrapped up and all of the players are healing up.
Gary secludes himself away from the rest of the party by an underground river. IRL he's upset about how the rolls went. I tell him that there's nothing that he could have done. The rolls just happened to go that way. Everyone in the party has a story about the dreaded Nat 1, but Gary took it personally. In the group, getting a story like what happened to Gary was like a badge of honor, but Gary was upset, feeling like he was weak and needed to get stronger.
Later, he pulls me aside one day to discuss his character. He wanted to multiclass and gave me a class idea he wanted to do. He had found some type of homebrew class that effectively made it to where any time he died, He would come back to life. I was horrified at this. Now I was a pushover in the game. I let my players get away with things no seasoned DM would. But if there was one thing that I didn't tolerate it was characters who were effectively immortal.
I told him No. After some talkback, I put my foot down and told him that there was no way I could allow a character who would negate Death. It was in that discussion that I learned why Gary wanted this class so badly. He was terrified of dying after Naziem had nearly done him in, and desperately wanted to keep his character alive. Every failed roll felt like a dagger and he quickly became paranoid. He started to talk back to the other players, taking in character banter like personal attacks. First in the game, then in Discord itself.
Then I had made the unfortunate mistake of getting a bot for the discord to make things fun. I got Bots and renamed them into characters from my game. The Music bot was named after an NPC bard the party hung around often. And this bot happened to have a cute anime girl who looked a lot like my headcanon picture for Natalia.
There were several activities with the Bot. One included a little game where you give the bot some options and asked it which one it prefers. Among the list of players, Gary Stu's never made it to 1st place. When Gary saw this, He flipped out beyond reason. I checked the discord to find that it had exploded in rage and vitriol. It was then I learned that Gary Stu was obsessed over the NPC. A conversation with Jack later revealed that he treated Natalia as if she was real and his actual girlfriend.
Gary proceeds to have, and I shit you not, a full mental breakdown. He calls all of the players all sorts of vile names and goes on a horrible rant. He proceeds to threaten the two players who played with the bot. He even went after a new guy, We'll call Tommy. Tommy was a new player meant to replace another player who had to leave for X reason. He had only arrived in the discord a few days before, but was not spared Gary's wrath. Gary was on the warpath and everyone was getting shot at.
Then came the death threats. He threatened to burn down each of the players houses. The Raging and yelling was bad enough, but one thing that is an instant ban in my opinion was a Death Threat. I take death threats seriously. I put up with a lot of shit, but I will not tolerate anyone threatening anyone else. As I clicked on his name to ban him, Gary made more threats.
Gary: "HAHAHAHAHA! YOU THINK ITS FUNNY, TOMMY?! WELL HERES A JOKE FOR YOU! KNOCK KNOCK IM BURNING YOUR FUCKING HOUSE DOWN!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I can't control my rage its like a free train"
No further words or actions were necessary. I banned him right then and there. I was in a chat with Jack during this. Jack thought it was a good idea to let Gary's mom know what was going on. all the while, Gary was DMing me about letting him back in, but I refused. He claimed that DnD was the only thing that was keeping him from self-deleting, that he has a mental illness, and that's why he doesn't have a GF, and he can't afford a therapist, and he always loses his friends because they "Didn't stay long to know the Real me." I however think that the opposite is true. That they don't stay Because they saw the real him.
I was having none of it. I told him that it was a perma ban and that was that. I blocked him, apologized to everyone else in the party, and would continue the game at some other point. We continued my game, and prayed that that was the last time I would have to deal with a "That Guy." unfortunately it wasn't but that is a story for another time.
Its been several years now and I look back. I don't know exactly what I could have done differently, but I know that I could have done better. I wouldn't know what point to go back to tell myself what to do and what not to do. I have no idea how Gary is doing right now. I hope and pray that he managed to get the help he deserves. I haven't inquired about him to Jack, who also apologized for Gary's behavior.
For any New DMs out there, I have a message for you. Don't just invite anyone. Make sure you know about them beforehand, ask them questions or anything like that. Set up interviews like it was a job or something. You don't need a whole lot of players to join your game. Keep it small and simple. This was just one of my many mistakes as a young DM and I am constantly trying to make myself better. Anyway, Thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day/night/whenever you're reading this.

šŸŽŠ It's Rehearsals Week!

Like last year, no media representative is permitted to view or access any individual artist rehearsals between Saturday 27th April and Saturday 4th May.
This is to allow all artists to rehearse in private and the production to perfect each performance before it is seen in full when dress rehearsals begin on Monday 8 May. Excerpts from first rehearsals will be shared on TikTok and second rehearsals on the event's official digital platforms. Some participating broadcasters will also share highlights on their digital channels. [eurovision.tv]
Galleries of rehearsal pictures for each entrant will be posted on eurovision.tv . For the first rehearsals, behind-the-scenes content and a short excerpt of the rehearsal filmed from within the arena will be shared on Eurovision's official TikTok. Second rehearsal clips from the camera feed are expected to be posted on Eurovision's YouTube, where it is believed they will be posted as one long video at the end of the day.
Live Blog
We are excited to announce that Eurovision are moving their daily live blog here, to this subreddit! Eurovision Official will be posting a daily live-thread for which they will keep updated with rehearsal information and pictures as they come, and you can react with the rest of the community in the comments!
Please note that there is no rehearsals liveblog planned today as the liveblog only covers the first rehearsals. Instead, we will be having...
Video AMAS
Shortly after their second rehearsals, each of the artists will head into Eurovision's Digital Studio, where one of our very own mods will be on hand to conduct a Video AMA! These videos will include the artists reacting to various content which has been shared on the subreddit over the past couple of months, as well as answering community-submitted questions. These will then be edited into short videos which will be uploaded throughout the day by Eurovision Official!
You can submit questions for all the artists in semi-final 1 here and here! And for semi-final 2 artists from Malta to Latvia here!

2024.04.23 03:36 Alone-Flight-6020 I thought I'd share her since I can no longer open this save file.

I thought I'd share her since I can no longer open this save file.
Sorry for any typos or sentences that don't make any sense
I am open to any questions ( I will try to respond as fast as I can)
This most of the story
(I have pics if anyone is interested)
This is Natalia Galvan, I made her with the intention of never playing her. As you see that was not the case, I had loved the gameplay and the storyline that I made up and happened with mods. Natalia was a teen when I created her, she lived in her family home, her parents (who don't exist) died and she was left the home. The bills and up keep was too much for Natalia so she sold the home (that was in Willow Creek), paid her debt and moved to San Myshuno. She still couldn't keep up with bills so she got a job and focused on school, there she met Kiyoshi Ito. He isn't in any of the pictures but she had a huge crush on him, she invited him to her prom royalty party where they had a 3 way woohoo session. She got pregnant the other girl didn't. She told him and he wanted nothing to do with her, she couldn't afford herself let alone a baby so she made the decision to get an abortion. She moved on from him and continued her studies and work, when one day she spotted Jeb Harris. She really liked him but she wasn't ready for a relationship so they had a situationship, by the time she wanted to ask him to make it official she found out that he was seeing other people and had 2 babies by different women. She applied to college and got in with the ability to do several distinguished degrees. She graduated high school with honors and started her college journey, all while still working as a manager at a store (I forgot to say her job), she started as a cashier. She completely stopped talking to Jeb. She was hurt so she spent the block on Kiyoshi and they made it official. Not soon after she found put that she was pregnant again and she hadn't found out yet, she got a call that Kiyoshi died by falling off a cliff the night after they had spent the night together and the cherry on top. She miscarried immediately after getting the phone call that he died. I didn't even know she was pregnant. She grieved Kiyoshi and their baby while working and finishing up high school. Natalia lived on campus and it was something, I had Wicked Whims on autonomous (iykyk). That being said she had a couple of sneaky links. But overall she only worked and focused on school, until one day she ran across Takumi when she went out of town. They both felt the vibes but they started as friends. They hung out all the time and as time progressed they got flirty and went on many dates. He finally asked her to be his girlfriend, around this time it was her second semester and she moved off campus into her San Myshuno apartment. Where Takumi moved in and soon after she got pregnant. She was not happy.
Thank you for reading if you made it this far :)

2024.04.13 10:45 DSharma4 12/03 - 16/03: Piha, Waterfalls & Glowworms

12/03 - 16/03: Piha, Waterfalls & Glowworms
The next installment. I wanted to visit the places in the Northland before Celine decided to pack in. Unfinished business...
12/03 - early start waking up in the streets. In my car though. Made my way to the river walkway for the run. 1hr30 in the bag. Had to take a mini break to visit the gents. 10 mins later I was back in action. Little rain towards the end, didn't mind it. Rang home after before finding a toilet for a quick wash...
Popped in main town Henderson. Ordered a full English. Man it went down a treat. Initially asked for a cup of chai... the size up was a bowl. Yes, a bowl. Didn't take much to persuade me to level up šŸ¤£
Made it to Te Henga (Bethells Beach). Black squelchy sand. Soothing. Quick Kauri tree stop before starting a hike to Kitekite Falls just outside Piha. Headed to the top and pushed it a little far than I ordinarily would for a glimpse. The view from the bottom was better. Piha beach next... explored and walked up a large rock formation for a view across the coastline. Awesome.
The best part was settling at Piha Motor Camp and meeting the manager (Fiona). She was unbelievably kind and generous. Faith in humanity being restored šŸ˜† offered me a jar of tomatoes as a good will gesture after hearing my ordeal with Celine. I passed it on. Great showers too. Fiona's savvy and has limited shower time and saved 80% of water use. "Ladies take ages in the shower, limiting them has been a game changer" šŸ¤£
13/03 - eased my way into the morning. A lovely with mum and dad whilst sat in my camping chair surrounded by ducks. Visited Karekare Falls - a steep little passage... I'd imagine most would miss it entirely. Made it across to French Bay and then to Maketu Falls. The latter was a lovely stroll through a forested area down some mudded steps to this peaceful stop. In these journals, I'm as honest as can be... I needed a no.2 desperately. We're talking turtle head stages. I dug a small hole, did my business and covered it back up. Before your mind starts wondering, I had wipes and hand sanitiser. A man's got to do what he's got to do šŸ˜…
Drove onto Hunua Falls. You can never see too many waterfalls. Stopped by a local restaurant for dinner. Fish and chips. A really cool vibe in Hunua Falls CafƩ and Bar. I was initially driving to a campsite a 1hr drive away. After 10 mins, I thought what a waste of time that'd be... especially for tomorrow. Made the detour and parked up in a freedom site (car park). Squash club opposite - looked inside to find a club night session. Got asked to play, but politely declined... maybe another time.
14/03 - out for an interval session early doors. Cheered on by the local school children šŸ¤£ although one rightly told me to not run in the road. Still did. Phoned home. Found a shower in a local aquatic centre. Made the visit - delightful. Drove towards Hamilton, stopping off for a chai and brunch. On renting the car, Dewan said "if you're ever neain Hamilton let me know and we can replace the stereo". Messaged and got sent to Mad Soundz. Spoke to James (the owner and an Englishman) and he sorted me out. New radio, recommendations and a good conversation with a humble guy. And the best part... I can use the stereo rather than the sorry sight of playing music out my phone...
Moved onto Raglan next. Bit drizzly but it cleared up. It's got a Cornwall vibe - plenty of surfers and local businesses. Did a mini tour of the surf spots. Started at Ngarunui Beach, then Manu Bay Reserve, then Whale Bay. The latter was the best. One bloke was carving through waves with ease. Very impressive. I hadn't stretched since the morning and felt tight. Made a vow that I'd get back into the routine of stretching soon after a run. Habits.
Rang Te Kopua Whanau Camp to sort out camping tonight. Reasonable prices too. Fancied eating out. Jo's Takeaway it was. Ordered a veggie burger, chips and broccoli bites. Saw a few guys playing football, walked over and asked to join. A local pick up game. Played barefoot with the others in boots. Didn't mind, enjoyed being back involved. Played decent too. Passing was surprisingly good. Although my shin felt rather sore. I think it was from the walk back in Henderson...
Picked up the takeaway, ate and showered. Cold shower too. Getting used to them now. Settled in for the night. Fun day.
15/03 - slight lie in this morning. Shin felt rather sore. The football probably didn't help. Drove to Te Toto Gorge Lookout. Hobbled around seeing some outrageous views. What a start to the day. Fresh air. Powered onto Bridal Veil Falls. I was limping around feeling down. Life seems to have a way to put me back in line. I saw a handful of people. Of them, a man in a wheelchair and another who'd just torn his achilles. Humbled. It's not that bad in the grand scheme. The Falls certainly pictured a bridal veil. Awesome.
Stopped by Otorohanga. Quick bite to eat... of course room for a chai. I'd be needing a cheap mirror for my haircuts... luckily found one in a $1 store. I was debating what to do for the remainder of the day. I thought why not check out Waitomo Caves. Bought a ticket at 4pm and made it there for my 5pm booking...
A guided tour. And I seemed to book the perfect timing - no tourists šŸ˜ our guide Freddie was superb. So enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the heritage and meaning of Waitomo. The main attraction are the glowworms. When the lights went out, we witnessed their beauty. I'd encourage anyone to see them. We learnt how they glow brighter... a freaky long sting. Hopped into the boat whilst Freddie pulled us along. Everyone was silent in awe. What an experience.
Now for the drive to Little Waipa Reserve. A free site run by the district. Passed through Arapuni Dam. Spoke with an Italian couple whilst they (and me once) screamed nonsense to hear the echo. Rather enjoyed their chatter šŸ¤£ Arrived in the dark, so opted for an Indian takeaway instead. How I've missed the cuisine. Back to Little Waipa for well earned kip.
16/03 - today was scheduled to be a driving heavy day. More as my shin was playing up and I wanted to rest before the hike tomorrow. Spent the morning chilling around the Reserve enjoying the bliss. Onto the road for 10am...
The scenery was really pleasant on the eyes. After 2hrs, I made it to Whakamaru Dam. Stopped for a hobble of the view. Dam's are great šŸ˜ on SH32, I stopped for a viewpoint. Wow. I'd be down that way in a day or two. By 1:45pm, I was nearing Tongariro National Park. My first thought: 'Celine would have no hope getting up these hills' whilst smiling to myself. Stopped over for fuel just outside of YHA National Park. Checked in soon after and cooked my infamous vegetarian burgers šŸ˜„
So why did I drive down here? You may remember my hike in Fansipan (Sa Pa, North Vietnam). I was due to see Lauren in Wellington for a gig... but couldn't get a ticket. Instead, we agreed to do a road trip with Natalia too. They'd been with a tour guide from the US (Wes), but they'd had enough of his chatter... and snoring šŸ˜…
The girls arrived 1hr after me. Caught up and dropped our bags in the room. Asked the lady at reception for advice on the Alpine Crossing. Whilst she was pointing to a map, a Welsh lad stood a little awkwardly waiting to get past... before saying "off to the pub, come join". Legend. After, we booked a 2 way bus and I rented a hiking pole... ironically more like a walking stick to the girls' amusement šŸ¤¦šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļø
We walked round the block before making an appearance in the pub. Will (Welsh lad) and his mate (Callum, from Bristol) were great. Proper characters. Loved a beverage and both so enthusiastic about landscaping/gardening. They'd met at university. We were joined by Alan - an engineer from Vancouver, Canada. Nearer to 40, but lovely. What did we have in common? All in the same dorm šŸ™šŸ¾ Alan was giving us some confidence about the Crossing. It felt like others were trying to make us anxious for no reason.
Checked out of the pub to cut my hair (needed) and more needed, my beard. I'd left it for a while and it get too thick. Hacked away for over 1hr. Genuinely. Felt a million dollars after šŸ¤£ cooked risotto and packed my bag for tomorrow.
Time for rest before the activities commence...

Modern Romantic Celebrities - Unverified
I went back and forth on posting this, as it is 100% my own opinion and every woman on here is up for debate. But if I had to say, these are some of the current stars I would say fit into the R family (whether that would be R or TR)
My criteria looked something like:
  1. Double Curve
  2. Narrow if thin/softly wide with more weight
  3. What they look best in
  4. Dreamspinner essence
  5. Height
The most common arguments I would guess for alternatives for these women would be SG, SN, SC, and SD. I personally did not see the ā€œyin in size, yang in frameā€ gamine concept on any of them. I also personally did not see enough frame for SN or SD either. SC should have balanced yin and yang, slightly leaning yin, which again, I personally didnā€™t see.
Iā€™m always looking for fashion inspiration and have wanted more verified modern Rs for a while. Not only can we learn from what works for them, but from what doesnā€™t work for them as well. In looking for pictures for this post, I noticed how stifled these gals looked in structured clothing. I had that issue my whole life. I tried to force it to work, and it just didnā€™t. I really recommend looking at some of their best looks and seeing what you think!
(I canā€™t figure out how to put captions on photosā€¦the women above are:
Auliā€™i Cravalho Stephanie Hsu Chloe Bailey Amanda Seyfried Emilia Clarke Nicola Coughlan Dominique Fishback Olivia Cooke Ice Spice Priscilla Presley Natalia Dryer

2024.04.10 08:20 ajbwasnthere Fallout 1 made me feel seen in a way no game has in a long time (Rant)

Just a rant I wanna go on and yes I am putting the spoilers on for a game from 1997.
A little context: I recently purchased and finished playing Fallout 4 after it gathering dust in my wishlist for nearly a decade. I later learned that, apparently, the wider Fallout community thinks it's bad. Like, the game has glaring faults but it's still an enjoyable experience in my book. So I decided to get the OG game and see what is so amazing that it kick-started a multi-decade franchise and is supposedly better than what modern gaming has to offer.
The game is amazing. I never played this game before, in fact it came out before it was born but even in 2024 it is a masterpiece. The UI is a little clunky and it doesn't track all the quests but it is still an amazing game. There is this choice to implement 'talking heads' for 21/162 of the game's named characters. These characters are voiced and have animated profile pictures displayed when you speak to them. Typically this is a character that is relevant to the main plot, gives you important information, or plays a critical role in tutorialising the player's introduction to the world. It was a 6 step process even to make these heads let alone animate them to the voice-actors lines, which involved a different software to implement, so these would've been very intentionally crafted characters. One of those that you meet early on is Tandi.
I was about an hour or so into my first playthrough when I rescued Tandi. Fought for her in hand-to-hand combat like the honorable explorer I am! (I picked Natalia and her unarmed strike is 87/100) So we go back to Shady Sands and she's thanking me for saving her life blah blah.
Then, I noticed that I can flirt with her. I expected this to be there for the male players and it just didn't get phased out for the female model so I clicked it. Tandi rejects me, which I expected cause she canonically has a boyfriend, but how she rejects me struck me, and hasn't left me for nearly 2 days.
She specifically rejects me because she likes boys. Not because of anything to do with me, but because of her own preference.
In 1997 a computer game company made a game where you could play as a man or woman. They also made a young female character that they deemed so important that they implemented an animated profile using a process that included making a physical clay model, and hired a well-established voice actor to deliver her lines. They then thought of the possibility of the player choosing the female avatar and flirting with another female character.
They could have easily just blocked this option from the code, I didn't even get this option on my second playthrough. But they didn't. They, instead, got Cree Summers to record a completely separate voice line that you only get to hear if you play as a woman and meet all the necessary criteria to flirt with Tandi and then choose that option. That is a lot of effort for a single option that not a lot of players are going to find and they could have skipped by just making the game not present that option to the female avatar, but they did it. They made the effort.
This probably seems silly and I know there are games out there with more queer rep but seeing a cult classic was willing to put in the time, effort, and money to account for my existence before I even existed while multi-million dollar video-game corporations can't seem to make queer rep without it being some sort of tragedy just felt great and I wanted to put it out there.
Anyway, you should play Fallout.
Update: I just finished the game andā€¦fuck the overseer

2024.04.05 05:09 TheJulie Kristine's racy photos

So I'm finishing the first half of the series and I of course find Michael and Kristine to be despicable people who deserve an awful lot of jail time. So please know that I do not empathize with either of them in any way.
However, I think it's also pretty despicable that the producers included Kristine's racy photos that Michael supposedly found in his Dropbox. How on earth is that okay? One, those were intimate photos that I'm sure she didn't intend to have seen by thousands of people. Even if she is a monster, she still has basic human rights. Two, they are completely irrelevant and it came across to me as textbook slut shaming. Every single other thing they claim she said and did was thousands of degrees worse than taking racy pictures of herself and sending them to someone.
While I found a lot of it informative, overall i can't say I like this "documentary". The whole scene with Jacob's hot mic feels fake as duck, but even if it wasn't, I find it incredibly gross that the producers decided to include it. Jacob's involvement in the doc at all feels wrong, or at least the way they handle his interviews. None of the things that happened were his fault. Sure he has a lot of insight to offer and revealed some awful things, but they did not seem to care about preventing him from experiencing any trauma while reliving those moments. They seem to take glee in showing him in a grungy basement as if it's some sort of karmic ending. He was a kid with developmental challenges, none of it is his fault.
Probably doesn't help that I'm not a big fan of Beth Karas, so I do acknowledge that I have some preformed biases. I have found it informative and I appreciated the insight I have gotten from watching it, but it all leaves such a bad taste in my mouth. No experts to present basic, obvious facts in contradiction of the claims of Michael (directly) and Kristine (via videotapes) about Natalia's age, abilities and behavior. It almost comes across as a defense of the Barnett's even though I am pretty sure it's meant to be a condemnation. Ugh. But of course I will probably keep watching because I want to see Natalia's half.

2024.04.02 06:44 Pretend-Weekend260 Would I Be The Asshole If I Decided Not To Come Out To My Parents?

I apologize. This is long. But please stay with me through the end. Just give me 10 minutes. I know that youā€™ve read the title and are probably going to tell me that I owe no one to come out if I donā€™t want to. And normally Iā€™d agree if this was about anyone else but I believe that when none of them has ever failed you, you ought to give them the benefit of the doubt. And they have never failed me. I (18F) realized I liked girls when I was 15. Iā€™m not really sure how to explain how it happened. Slowly I realized I liked girls. It wasnā€™t like you see in some shows. I was fine with it and I didnā€™t have any sort of existential crisis in which I hated myself or anything like that. And I knew I liked boys too. I was sure. Iā€™m bisexual. Thatā€™s the term that rings true to me. Iā€™ve never really liked labels but I figured a label would help me explain to my family one day what to expect when I started dating. Which for the record, Iā€™ve never dated. I have never been in any sort of relationship with a guy or girl. I donā€™t even have friends. Iā€™m on a first name basis with my classmates but why shouldnā€™t I? My family are the only ones in my life. Which makes this more difficult for me. Iā€™ve always been an introvert, even within my family. And Iā€™m not the type of person that likes to combine the different relationship groups of oneā€™s lives. But still, my family would never let me date anyone they donā€™t know or allow me to be secretive about it. So I donā€™t think they will give me a choice. But Iā€™ve always thought I would come out when Iā€™m older, be casual about it, and maybe say ā€œI have a girlfriendā€ because I donā€™t want to do a big announcement. But lately Iā€™ve been thinking that maybe I shouldnā€™t come out at all. This is why: My grandfather ā€œTimothyā€ will not take it well. I just know it. And my grandma ā€œNatalia" is complicated. Sheā€™s sweet, a good person, very agreeable and sheā€™s the grandparent with whom I have the closest relationship with but Iā€™m not sure if I want her to know. She doesnā€™t like LGBT content in T.V. and one time when I showed her a picture of one of my classmates dressed as Terrence from Tinkerbell, she immediately asked if he was gay. She had a facial expression I did not like much. One time, I was watching this Netflix series, Dynasty, a long time ago, in which they passed a scene with two guys in a bedroom, one hugging the other from behind and they didnā€™t have tops on. Anyways my grandmother ā€œNataliaā€ passed by and said ā€œAy, it is about faggots!ā€. She didnā€™t even stop to make the remark. She just kept walking. For context: Weā€™re Mexican and also religious. I donā€™t have a problem with being bisexual and Catholic. I donā€™t think it contradicts anything that I was taught at the church. The word ā€œfaggotā€ is a bigger deal in english speaking countries than it is in spanish speaking countries. The Spanish word is ā€œjotoā€. Itā€™s not as strong as it is in the US but it is still not a word you want to throw around to gay or trans people if you presume to have good manners. And then thereā€™s that occasion in which I think my aunt ā€œCharlotteā€ and my grandmother ā€œNataliaā€ were discussing a boyfriend my aunt ā€œAmelieā€ was supposedly dating. I was there in the kitchen with them, not really caring about whatever they were discussing but then my aunt ā€œCharlotteā€ asked: ā€œIsnā€™t he gay?ā€ And thatā€™s when I started hearing their conversation. It is something I do to try to figure out what they think of the different sexualities or genders. My grandma ā€œNataliaā€ responded ā€œI think he likes both.ā€ She didnā€™t say the word but I was aware of what she was referring to. My aunt ā€œCharlotte '' responded ā€œI don'tā€™ really think thatā€™s a real thing. I just don't believe itā€, essentially saying you can only be attracted to one gender. She didnā€™t have any ill feelings towards people identifying as that. My aunt ā€œCharlotteā€ looked immersed in her thoughts, a little confused, even. And I jumped in the conversation and I asked her ā€œWhat about Callie in Greyā€™s anatomy?ā€ ā€˜cause we both watch that show and I knew she was familiar with what I was talking about. And then my aunt ā€œCharlotte '' told me ā€œBut that was before she realized she was lesbianā€. To which I responded ā€œBut even after getting with Arizona, she kept hooking up with Markā€. And my aunt ā€Charlotteā€ was like ā€œYeah, thatā€™s trueā€. And that 's it. Did she change her mind? Was she just agreeing with what happened in the show? Did she just become disinterested in the subject? I donā€™t know. And I canā€™t ask her because it is difficult enough for us to start a conversation, despite how close we are, and to make matters more difficult, when we do talk itā€™s nothing related to this. I mentioned one of my classmates dressed as Terrence from Tinkerbell. It was for a school project: a disney-themed Christmas caravan. We went with Tinkerbell. And we decided to dress two of my classmates into Tinkerbell and Terrence. We really should have dressed ā€œNinoā€ as Peter Pan. No one recognized his character. They both put on a costume and put on makeup. I took a picture of them. They looked great. Nino is sort of feminine and vain in a very subtle way but dressing as a fairy was only going to amplify those characteristics of him. The next morning, after the caravan, I went to my aunt ā€œCharlotteā€™sā€ house. She asked me how the caravan went and I was excited to tell her since I thought it was really cool. And the night before I sent her pictures of everything and then out of nowhere she said "There's no way we wouldn't know your friend is gay." She doesnā€™t know him. Iā€™ve never talked about him. She just saw the picture. And I was like ā€œCharlotte!ā€ And she responded ā€œWhat? It 's not bad. Itā€™s good to have a gay friendā€. I donā€™t really think I have to worry about my aunt Charlotte, except for the fact that I donā€™t know if she already accepted bisexuality is something valid. She did tell me once, a long time ago, when I was little, that she had a female friend who was lesbian who declared her love towards my aunt Charlotte. And I donā€™t remember her talking ill of her friend. I think they remained friends after that but just lost touch over time. And then thereā€™s my mom, ā€œLucreciaā€. She really matters. A lot. Weā€™re really close. We donā€™t engage in conversation a lot. Only a little bit. We mostly talk about relatives. I hug her everyday. I tell her I love her everyday. I call her ā€œMi amorā€. And sheā€™s not the easiest person in the world. One night I was making dinner for her and me and we started watching a telenovela that we usually watch. Two of the male teenage characters are in love. Theyā€™re gay. And normally I would use this as an opportunity to check how she reacts to that but I mostly try to show Iā€™m indifferent to that. But as the novela progresses, their scenes become more heavy handed... No sex, not even kissingā€¦ But their love relationship is becoming more serious. Anyways, I can not fast forward because that would make things awkward. So I decided to mention a fact that I knew would interest her about one of the actors who played one of the gay characters: Emilio Osorio. Heā€™s a Mexican actor. I donā€™t expect any of you to know him. I just told her ā€œDid you know that Emilio and Karol (another actress she likes) used to date?ā€ And she said ā€œI did. He mentioned it in that reality showā€ And then I said: ā€œReally? What did he say?ā€ Her: ā€œJust that she was very good girlā€ Me: Oh. Her: Heā€™s kind of a bastard. First he says heā€™s gay and then he says he isnā€™tā€ Me (I didnā€™t know this about his personal life): Really? Ummā€¦ Are you sure heā€™s not bisexual? Her (whoā€™s really annoyed): I don't know! Then they come out with that binary and non-binary nonsense! I knew what she was talking about with that last remark. It took me off guard. Where did she hear about binary and non-binary genders? I donā€™t know. Sheā€™s not the type of person to consume any socially related content, like LGBT content, whether itā€™s negative or positive. But she heard somewhere about this and it did not leave a good impression. And without knowing where she heard it, how can I know what she thinks about it? And that left me confused. She really likes this influencer whoā€™s openly transgender. Her name is Wendy Guevara. She discovered her in that reality show. I think Iā€™ve heard her use the correct pronouns. And that Netflix series, Dynasty, that I mentioned beforeā€¦ When I was 15 or 16 we were watching it before I went to school. It was the season 1 finale and just watching those episodes made my mom invested in the story. And she really liked the couple between Steve and Sam, another gay couple. She wanted to know if they were going to marry. So Iā€™m receiving a lot of mixed signals from her. Sheā€™s enbyphobic, most likely, but Iā€™m not willing to let it ruin our relationship. Especially when non-binary people donā€™t form part of our lives. I donā€™t know anyone whoā€™s non-binary. She doesnā€™t either. I think I can talk her into accepting itā€™s not bad. I already spoke about my aunt Charlotte, my grandparentā€™s from my motherā€™s side, and my mom. Itā€™s time to talk about my grandmother ā€œEloiseā€. I really love her but weā€™re not close. Itā€™s hard enough to get me to open up already, the fact she lives 15 hours away, that she comes to vit once a year and stays around two weeks, and we do not chat frequentlyā€¦ I do so once every two months (I know that makes me seem like a jerk but itā€™s just not in my nature to reach out to anyone and make conversation)... All that makes it difficult for us to have a meaningful relationship. But I really do love her. She 's my grandma. Anywaysā€¦ My grandma ā€œEloiseā€ and my grandpa ā€œZosoā€ are Christians just like my dad and his brother. Iā€™ve always known this. They go to church regularly, share bible versesā€¦ Itā€™s a big part of their life. And they are genuinely good people. They are kind, they have good manners, they are compassionateā€¦ Although I know that the homophobia from my grandma Eloise will leave you with a very bad impression. I just hate that my grandma is living proof that youā€™re not all bad when youā€™re homophobic. And unlike my other family members, sheā€™s made that very clear. Itā€™s not a hunch or anything. It's a fact. Sheā€™s never talked about this with me but recently, three days ago, she SHARED a facebook post. The facebook post: Celebrate Heterosexual Pride. Male dad and female motherā€¦ the family in its original design just like God created it. (GĆ©nesis 1:27) And in her post she commented: ā€œAmen. God created man and woman to pair with each other and procreate sons and daughters. Deceptions of the devil that man with man or woman with woman can marry and adopt children. This goes against the rulings of God. God bless youā€ If this had been made by any other person, I would have gone into an online fight and made a snarky comment about the ā€œGod bless youā€ line. But it was my grandmother Eloise. I never pictured her doing something like this. I thought she maybe was, I was never sure, on the benevolent and tolerant side of the Christian community. Thankfully my dad didnā€™t heart the post. Maybe he just didnā€™t see it even though he is active on Facebook and follows her but Iā€™m just glad I didnā€™t see his username when I clicked to find out who liked the post and who didnā€™t. Iā€™ve read posts here on reddit where people say ā€œMy familyā€™s openly transphobicā€ or ā€œMy family is openly homophobicā€ or ā€œopenly racistā€. But my family isnā€™t like that. Please allow me to explain. Those posts Iā€™ve read are about bigoted familiesā€¦ who constantly spew transphobic, homophobic, racist comments. My family does not revolve over this subject. You could say my family has bigotry but you could not say my family is bigoted. There are families that, for example, are constantly taught racist ideologies, then the whole family grows up to be racist. But in families like mine, everyone grows up to have their own opinions, opinions which Iā€™m not familiar with. Do I explain myself? They think what they think and they leave it at that. My grandma Natalia and my mother would probably see this as ā€œnot the hill to die onā€. I donā€™t know about my two grandpas. My grandpa Timothy is very cisheteronormative but I donā€™t know to what extent and my grandpa Zoso, Iā€™ve heard nothing from him that would allow me to make a guess about how he would react if I ever come out. I feel stupid overthinking this. My grandma Eloise (who made the post) and my grandpa Zoso live 15 hours away. I see them so little. I bet I could hide this from them. I bet my dad wouldnā€™t tell them anything. But still. And my other grandparents, I see them almost everyday. I could not hide this from them. Maybe my mom would not tell them. She definitely wouldnā€™t tell her father. But thereā€™s also the possibility that she would tell my grandma Natalia immediately. It 's 50/50. How do I think my mother and father would react? She says that if someone ever hurt me, she would kill them. But if I came out to my mother, I probably would just annoy her and that would make me mad and we would fight pretty ugly maybe for a month and after I would probably tell her that it was all false. Or maybe she would accept me, not make this a big deal, but she would be pretty hurt and angry that I didnā€™t tell her before if that happens to be her reaction. And she will not believe that I know Iā€™m bisexual if Iā€™ve never fallen in love with a guy or a girl. And my dadā€¦ Heā€™s different. Heā€™s ā€œin loveā€ with me but he isnā€™t always honest with me. He married and didnā€™t tell me until after the wedding, a month later, I think. And he would do just about anything for me. He likes to spoil me. He visits me maybe three days a month, when heā€™s on vacation. We do not talk much. I heard him use the word ā€œjotoā€ before while talking with my mother, in the least insulting way possible. Iā€™m not sure how he would react. His reaction wouldnā€™t be negative. Thatā€™s all I can guess. He probably would be very scared that I cut contact with him. So if I ever come out to him, Iā€™m not thrilled of exploiting the love he has for me if I have too. Iā€™m pretty sure that if I told him ā€œYouā€™re walking on eggshellsā€ if and after I come out to him, that would scare the shit out of him. I am capable of saying that to him. And I hate myself for that because heā€™s always been good to me and I would be pretty shitty if I did that. So I want to keep myself from hurting him by not coming out. But then if he finds out through someone else, that would also hurt him. Do I have anyone to support me if I decide to come out? Yes, my aunts. Aunt Charlotte, aunt Amelie, and aunt ā€œKateā€. Aunt Kate is very enigmatic but I do not think sheā€™s prejudiced. I wouldnā€™t be surprised if she had gay friends. Sheā€™s the youngest of my aunts. And sheā€™s great with me. But sheā€™s not the kind of person to meddle with anyone elseā€™s business. Thereā€™s my aunt Amelie, whoā€™s not confrontational. Lesbian and gay relationships are for her, out of the ordinary. But I think she would be fine with it. And thereā€™s my aunt Charlotte, whoā€™s the safest person to come out to. She can be the first person I tell this to. Like I said, she probably wouldnā€™t understand bisexuality and I think I can live with that, but she wouldnā€™t judge or anything. But the problem is my mom and her have a good relationship but not so good. My mother doesnā€™t like that Iā€™m this close with her or that Charlotte has a bigger influence on me than she does. And it 's true. My aunt Charlotte gives me clothes and tells me how to walk, and gives me advice on what exercises I should try outā€¦ If my mother finds out Charlotte knew before her, it would cause a big fight between them and I hate it when they fight. It makes me so anxious. And overall, I think none of them would keep the secret. If any of them senses that Iā€™m not okay keeping this secret, they will insist that I tell my mother or they will tell her themselves because they might think it's for the best. And my mother, she could either confront me or ignore thinking it might just be a phase. Iā€™m obviously not going to tell any of them until Iā€™ve moved out and Iā€™m fully in control of my life and with a job. And I know Iā€™m most likely not going to get into a relationship anytime soon but since that facebook post, Iā€™m considering never coming out. Iā€™ve also considered not coming out until after my four grandparents die, but I hate thinking like this. Theyā€™re my grandparents! I love them! I want them to live for the rest of eternity. I would feel awful if they ever left this world. And they love me. All my family loves me truly with all their hearts. If I came out to them, they would either change their mind or try to change my mind. I feel they deserve the opportunity to prove me wrong. And also, I want to find out more of what they think about this. I feel like Iā€™m working with crumbs here and I donā€™t have any kind of concrete evidence to make a decision. The only thing that eases my mind is that I can change this decision. Any advice on what I should do? Or maybe you have some ideas on how I can gain a broader perspective on how they would react? Itā€™s not common for me to overthink this but I think itā€™s time I make a decision, create a plan.

2024.04.02 06:43 Pretend-Weekend260 Would I Be The Asshole If I Decided Not To Come Out To My Family?

2024.04.01 03:07 Huge-Needleworker340 Back to the Future Casting Idea's

Andrew Garfield as Doc Brown (Peter 3 in all of No Way Home+John Larson+the Charisma and Science Scenes of Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2 all give Doc Brown Vibes that and Andrew Himself)
He's currently 40 turning 41 this Year so he'd be 40-let say 44, then 45-48 and possibly 46-52 across the 3 Films unless they double film 2 and 3 again.
Doc Brown is age 41, 71, physically 40 mentally 71 and physically 52 mentally 83 in the Films and Christopher Lloyd was 43 and 47 when playing the Role going by Year alone
If Biff doesn't have to be Buff Buff or if he works out I could see Joe Kerry as Biff and I say that because we've seen him as a Good High school kid and seen him as a psycho 23 year old so blend it and he could do a High School Bully.
He's currently 31 turning 32 but if you look at pictures of him at age 18 and pictures of him now at 31 in 2024 there is no difference AT ALL (not even lying double check or look for 19, maybe taller that's it) so he definitely could, that would make him 31-35 in the First, 36-39 in the Second and unless back to back 37-43 in the Third, I mean you'd hope 1 and 2 were back to back then 3 on the second year.
and I fully believe even by 40 if you splashed some make up on this man he'd still look like a realistic 18 year old, if really needed a very small amount of CGI, Biff/Griff/Kid is age 18, 48 and 78 through out the films and Tom F Wilson was 26 and 30 when doing the role and he passed for a 18 year old quite well.
obviously Tom Holland who could realistic pass as a 15 Year old If we wanted but 17 in this case and's 27 turning 28 now so he'd be 27-31, then 28-35 and then 29-39 not counting back to back filming across the Films would be Marty who of course is 17 and 47 and was Played my Micheal J Fox (who was age 24 and 28) the most convincing fake Teen ever literally I'm 17 and while Tom's close Micheal J Fox could of blended in my Class at age 24 as an actual teen
Now for Lorraine I can't of think of many so feel free to help me out but Natalia Dyer (who'd be 29-32, then 30-36 and then 31-40 across the films not counting Back to Backs) or Renee Rapp both able to pass as 18, hot, can do sweet or the older Timeline A Mom snarky sassy but still pretty woman who again basic choices but all I got.
Renee is 24 so she'd be 24-27, then 25-31 then 28-35 when it comes to filming not counting Back to Backs which is Funny cause Leia Tompson was 24 and 28 when filming the 2 films going off year alone so great starting age.
Again need a bit of help with that one cause feels a bit basic
Timothee Chalamet If We are trying to get someone to match up with Tom's age/appearance then he'd be perfect for George Mcfly, I believe from a Mix of Wonka and yes Dune we can see the awkwardness of George but also that anger when Biff goes all rapey.
He'd be 28 turning 29-32 in the First, 30-36 in the Second and 33-40 in the Third not counting Back to Back Filming, and even he looks 18-mid College now so it works with George being 17, 47 and 77.
Crispin Clover was 21 when Filming Back to the Future and would of been 25 in the second.
Again a Bit basic but I think it works.
now if you have any better castings do let me know, what do you think of mine and if Your worried about age, Andrew's set and everyone listed here Andrew listed has aged great and looks/looked/will look 18-21 by 30 anywhere so add in some make up and (cause it's a Reboot of one the best Films ever) Top Quailty CGI you could fix any problems, I mean that's if they don't back to back film the first 2 anyway
but yeah what you think?

How Could I Style This? I Usually Wear a Unisex S-M, But This Is a 3XL:
Soooā€¦I was at an event yesterday and got this shirt. It was the ONLY ONE she had in the design for the ENTIRE event (and I got it because of how much I love her, I have her other one). HOWEVER, I usually wear a unisex S-Mā€¦this is a 3XL. How could I style it? I mean she (Natalia Markova) said it could be more like a dress. It is, itā€™s longer than 98% of my skirts. The plan is currently to have my grandma take it in so itā€™s more my size as sheā€™s good at sewing, but in case she canā€™t make it smaller due to how much smaller I need it, how could I style it? Should I just use it as a PJ top to sleep in? Lemme know! Thanks! :) šŸ–¤
I have included several pictures of me in it with different poses and angles, along with the back just for some extra details for advice you guys have for me! :)

I really felt like writing a ranking post tonight so here we are. I'm making it this early because I want to compare this to how I feel after the show. I mostly go off of studio cuts but where live performances are available, I'll take them into account
Disclaimer: All opinions are my own, it's cool if you disagree, I'm a snarky bitch and a dumbass so treat this ranking accordingly
I am not including Azerbaijan nor Israel for reasons I'm not interested in discussing here. You can't change my mind, downvote if youā€™re so inclined and move on, ta ta
35. Malta (Sarah Bonnici - Loop)
I'm sorry but this song is a train wreck. Uninspired beat, uninspired lyrics, the live was... Kind of uncomfortable to watch? It seems like a song that was mostly created just to be a backdrop to the choreography and then the choreography was just... They really said "we have Chanel at home". Her vocals were also just not there unfortunately, probably thanks to all the movement. Iā€™m being too harsh? FINE, she's kind of adorable though so I can't really hate this number too much. Damn it, even the last place is still tolerable which must be some kind of ESC record
34. Moldova (Natalia Barbu - In the Middle)
This song, rather than outright bad or boring like Malta, is just kind of bizarre. The lyrics are confusing (my beautiful angel, my work of art? lady, what are you TALKING ABOUT), there doesn't seem to be any conceivable direction the song is trying to take itself. It just trudges on, then trudges on with her chirping random operatic high notes while doing a faux violin solo. I don't know man
33. Iceland (Hera Bjƶrk - Scared of Heights)
Come on 1999 realness. It has its charm and I guess from here we're already approaching songs I don't actively dislike and am mostly neutral about. This song just sounds kind of dated, it's very... RuPaul-esque. Does that make sense? She seems lovely but aside from a small smile, this song does nothing for me, really
32. Luxembourg (Tali - Fighter)
This was my number 2 at Luxembourg's NF and it being down here really is a testament to this year's quality. The song is nice and playful and I like the post-chorus bridge (studio version at least, live was kind of messy) but all in all, this doesn't really evoke many feelings in me. I hope they polish the stage show, her vocals were mostly there but it just didn't pop (a running theme with Luxembourg this year). ...Anyway justice for my girl Krick
31. Denmark (Saba - Sand)
Imma be honest, I can't put my finger on why I just don't vibe with this song. It's pleasant, her vocals are really good but something about this just makes me feel bored, itā€™s just a normal pop song. Maybe it's the SAAND, SAAAAAAAAND that's grating to me. The staging was also kind of just there, she was standing on an IKEA Linnmon with a smoke machine. I would really love Denmark to qualify one of these years
30. Germany (Isaak - Always on the Run)
I'm always on the runnanna-eeee runnannaa-eee šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ“ÆšŸ“ÆšŸŽŗ Oh Germany, my new home country. I was so hopeful you'd pop your bratwurtussy and climb out of this hole other Big 5 countries already did (well, UK is debatable, this year will tell if Sam was a once-in-a-lifetime styrofoam trumpet summoned miracle). But this song, unfortunately, is not it. Facepalmed watching the NF, gave my coworkers shit for it the next day. Better luck next time. Pity since Isaak seems so sweet. His smile is so benevolent I can't explain it-
29. Czechia (Aiko - Pedestal)
This should be dead last. It somehow grew on me even though I don't like anything about this song really. This should be dead last. There's something kind of endearing about how simplistic the song is and the energy is there. This should be dead last. The live show is already iconic. This should be dead last- Not now honey, Squibbles is fighting with herself
28. Albania (Besa - Titan)
Titan in disguise is unintentionally hilarious, otherwise the revamp just tanked this song. I actually kind of liked it, it was somewhere around 20th place initially before the English version came out. The song just flowed so much better in Albanian. Disappointed, shaking my head. Anyway, what even IS a titan in disguise?
27. Australia (Electric Fields - One Mikali (One Blood))
The didgeridoo is banger. There's some groove to it. My dad would probably do embarrassing dad dance moves to this. That being said, I just don't like this more than the ones above, I'm so sorry. Please pop live, I want to like this so much more than I do
26. Poland (Luna - Tower)
Ignoring Jystyna (sacrilegious of me, I know), this song is pretty okay. A bit bland, not all that remarkable but it has a pleasant drive to it and I constantly find it stuck in my head, especially when I wake up from naps. Wonder what's up with that, Luna might be my sleep paralysis demon
25. Cyprus (Silia Kapsis - Liar)
Entering songs I think are pretty okay. Liar is a formulaic ass composition riding on the producer working overtime to make it pop. And pop it does, I love the beat in the chorus, it's got a real nice kick to it. It will need a very good choreography to stand out though, but as a studio cut it's jammable even if only languidly
24. Finland (Windows95Man - No Rules!)
It's the weakest of the shitposter songs but I still like it okay. I did kind of sigh a little when it won UMK but I need to admit the denim egg and lowered pants were iconic. I'm positively BEGGING them to keep that security guard who comes on stage with a clipboard of rules, I was gagged. The composition (aside from the eagle noise, the eagle noise is perfect), is just kind of there, I don't think it's nearly as funny as it's trying to be. That doesn't make it unlovable though
23. Georgia (Nutsa Buzaladze - Firefighter)
This song is just kind of there until they hit that bridge but that ā€œput out the fire, put out the fire (insert a fucking stunning instrumental section here)ā€ bridge is SO FUCKING GOOD I can't put this lower. Not a fan of the shouty singing style nor the lyrics. Itā€™s a pretty cookie cutter girl bop aside from that damn bridge. The curse of a good bridge. We cross it and wish for the best
22. Serbia (Teya Dora - Ramonda)
This is kind of an odd song where when I hear it, I'm like "yeah, this is good, I like this" but then I immediately forget it afterwards. And I can't for the life of me figure out why? Maybe it's because it's kind of similar to the other TikTok viral song she had and my brain is amalgamating the two? Anyway, it's a sensual ballad that's not afraid to take its time, I like that in a song. I appreciate this even if it's this far down (good year, thing is known)
21. Sweden (Marcus & Martinus - Unforgettable)
If Cyprus had a bland composition carried by production, Sweden has an okay composition carried by the spirit of RedOne descending onto whoever produced this (do people know RedOne? People should know RedOne). The staging helps this a lot too, it's quite the spectacle and I think it'll make a very good opener for the grand final night. That production though, I'll still be thinking about it on my deathbed
20. San Marino (Megara - 11:11)
Here we have a song that has a very good kick to it, lots of energy, a chaotic stage show and a killer bridge with the Iberian acoustic guitar strumming in with that matador realness. I'm a sucker for good bridges, I can't help it. Anyway, this needs some serious polish but I can't keep myself from liking this song quite a bit. I think a big part of my attachment to this song is because it was the ending point of the fever dream that was UVPSM. After that song, I was finally free
19. France (Slimane - Mon Amour)
This song is carried 99% by Slimane himself. His vocal performance is something that will make the juries spit out their drinks and hurry to the studies of their ivory towers to send a wax sealed letter to EBU to give it their 12 points. I like his passion and I suspect were it anyone else singing this, this would be 10 places lower. You go guy
18. United Kingdom (Olly Alexander - Dizzy)
Competent pop with a bit of spice by adding those major chords in, delish. This is bound to make Carol and her gay grandson proud. If the live vocals are there, this might do surprisingly well with the juries. Loving the queer rep this year. I hate that I donā€™t have more to say about this, itā€™s just... Good. Solid. Mhm
17. Portugal (Iolanda - Grito)
This song just comes alive when sung live. I was a bit underwhelmed by the studio version but the live performance took my breath away. Her voice is lovely and I'm admittedly a sucker for some Iberian guitar. God I want to have my heart broken in Portugal
16. Croatia (Baby Lasagna - Rim Tim Tagi Dim)
Now listen, just because he's not top 10 or even top 15 doesn't mean I'm a contrarian hater. I like the song, it's very lively, it has that constant riff in the background that never slows down and keeps the song going like a chugging train, the techno bridge is easily the best part of the song. I donā€™t really like the chorus that much, I think it doesnā€™t sound that fresh, the verses are very fun though. I may not be as in love with this as most others but it's very good and BL (Baby Lasagna, get back weebs) just seems very endearing
15. Ukraine (Alyona Alyona & Terry Heil - Teresa & Maria)
It's big, it's dramatic, it's angsty, I just know the staging will slap (Ukraine always delivers on that front). Terry's vocals are fragile and wailing like sheā€™s in pain, I love the atmosphere of the song. I like the chorus much more than the verses, admittedly, when Alyona kicks in it's a bit šŸ—£ļøšŸ—£ļøšŸ—£ļø. You know itā€™s a good Christian bop when even my atheist ass recognizes it as such. We're at a point where the tiniest things knock songs down because I need my top 10 to be pristine
14. Latvia (Dons - Hollow)
Shut up, I need to be there for my man Dons who's single-handedly saved this year's reaction picture tally from feeling lacklustre. On a serious note though, this entry is very slow and contemplative. The composition is rather simple and all in all there's not that much that would bring it this high, but I just love this moody atmosphere and his voice. The raspy resonance of his voice in the chorus just has me in a chokehold. Latvia bringing me the NQ I will cry the most at two years in a row
(Me in June holding back tears in a public space because I suddenly remembered this didnā€™t qualify)
13. Spain (Nebulossa - Zorra)
I always go into this song thinking I'll like it less and finally snap out of it but then the synths just kick me right in my tits and knock my breath out. I love the percussion in this thing, the stylized almost synthwave-adjacent 80s synth, the mellow vocals that kind of feel like they're there to support those killer synths. The live show was a bit much but I vibe so hard to this. How are we already at songs that would be top 5 last year?
12. Armenia (Ladaniva - Jako)
What a FUN SONG??? Oh my goodness what a blast. So energetic but in a completely different way from the other chaotic bangers. This one has that lovely traditional instrumentation that really sets it apart. I find myself whistling this all the time. Her energy is infectious and that horn hook just won't leave my system (and I don't want it to)
11. Austria (Kaleen - We Will Rave)
This is such a dumb eurotrash song and I shouldn't like it this much but it's such a bop. It's an escapism song, or it would be if I was the partying type. I'd dance to this right now if I wasnā€™t busy disassociating by reading Wikipedia articles about plane crashes. But Iā€™ll have this in the background while I do that. You win this one Jimmy Joker, but this is not over yet
10. Italy (Angelina Mango - La Noia)
This is such a Mediterranean summer bop and I'm here for it. I love the instrumentation, the percussion and the slightly unconventional melody lines we have going on, something about the whole package just feels incredibly fresh to me. Also unrelated but I really enjoyed the music video
9. Estonia (5miinust & Puuluup - (nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (kĆ¼ll) midagi)
This is such a ridiculous song. It's somehow simultaneously the plainest and the most unhinged of the chaotic songs. Something about the bridge after the first verse with the yell leading into the messy chaos that is the chorus just cracks me up every time. The talharpa(?) also goes so fucking hard. I really really hope they know how to stage this, I worry about whether this will qualify in SF2. Regardless, I only understand vitamiini spiidi but I live
8. Ireland (Bambie Thug - Doomsday Blue)
I was rooting for Bambie from the moment I heard the song. I always thought it's not going to happen. The shriek I let out when it happened (I used up all my NF luck currency on this win ngl, so many robberies after). I am a sucker for experimental everything. Experimental vocals, genre shifts, songs that are not afraid of just being ugly if that's what you need to get the message across. There's also a clear vision behind the song and music video, can't wait to see what they'll do with this (respectfully begging Ireland's delegation to BACK THE FUCK OFF and not ruin this)
7. Switzerland (Nemo - The Code)
Talk about coming in with a crash. This is a song that hits instantly. It's overwhelming the first time you hear and then it settles into controlled chaos. Love it. I personally love mixing vocal styles and the rap verse is just the cherry on top. When I first heard it I had to pause to be like "wait a minute, is this just everything but the kitchen sink and your ADHD brain latches onto that or is this a genuine well-thought out banger?", turns out it was a genuine banger. Nemo will slay. This is the first entry I would love to see win btw, with six more to go. Lord have mercy this year is an absolute unit
6. Slovenia (Raiven - Veronika)
This is so bombastic and majestic. I would say epic if it didn't make me feel like I'm time traveling to 2009 9Gag. I love the orchestral background, her voice is incredibly resonant and well controlled, the siren notes at the last part always give me insane goosebumps. I just hope they stick the landing with the staging and let this get to the final. I can't wait to see whether this will be top 5 or bottom 5 with juries. Also I can't be the only one who's reminded of that one Attack on Titan soundtrack???? Pls tell me you know what I'm talking about
5. Greece (Marina Satti - ZARI)
I was immediately fascinated when I heard the song but it took me 2-3 more listens to decide I adore it. And I really do. The beat is so aggressively heavy and the arrangement is so aggressively minimalistic, with the sudden section changes it creates this unsettling contrast. That vocoder bridge always grabs me by the throat, slams me to the wall and tells me to FUCKING LISTEN. Also apparently a bit of a hot take but I love the music video. It feels like a 2009 ARG I'd stumble upon at 3 in the morning. Marble Hornets who?
4. Netherlands (Joost Klein - Europapa)
This grew on me. First like a tumour where it wouldn't leave me alone and would without my consent get stuck in my brain, then Stockholm Syndrome took over and now I love it. Send help. Or don't, I don't care tbh, I like it here (I think). Something about the beat and the texture of the synths just scratches my brain in the best possible way. Joost also just seems plain unhinged. He is a crackhead but so am I, so who am I to judge? Welkom in Europa jongen! (dances an elemetary school core choreography)
3. Lithuania (Silvester Belt - Luktelk)
This had me two chords in. I was his. The atmosphere of this song just transports me. This is a song I would hear in the background of a neo-noir sci fi movie, at the shady bar where I've gone to get intel on the new synthetic drug. The beat is so loud I can't hear what the dealer is saying. Android strippers dance on the table next to me. This is the vibe. I'm here for it. That midsection goes so hard btw
2. Belgium (Mustii - Before the Partyā€™s Over)
Well what do you know, a somewhat conventional song in my top 3. Just well made noir pop with moody lighting, good vocals, probably the best (English) lyrics of the year and the promise of stunning visuals in the live. Is it the well crafted pop part that gets me by the balls or is it the synthwave synths in the background and the piano riff that comes in towards the build to the climax of the song? We may never know. All we know is that he is my king and I will ride to war for him
1. Norway (GĆ„te - Ulveham)
This song was just a complete showstopper to me the first time I saw it in MGP. It uses atmosphere and shifting dynamics so incredibly well to create contrasts, it knows when to build up and understands that a song like this needs to up the stakes throughout. I don't care that it's just verse-chorus-verse-chorus-chorus, it's stunning. The last chorus with the high note, Gunnhild bending back on the rotating platform and the whispery šŸ‘¹šŸ‘¹šŸ‘¹ vocals going crazy in the background always make uncontrollable chills go down my spine. My arms look like someone plucked all the feathers off of a chicken. I am in love
Whew. As usual, I've written way too much and I'm sure most of it is nonsense but I'll go ahead and post this anyway. I'd love to hear what you do and don't agree with!

It's time to BUILD A BONFIRE šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„

___
BACKGROUND
Head Coach: Mike Norris
Norris is in his second year of head coaching after taking the reins last year. He has an extensive background as an assistant coach through Canadaā€™s youth system (mainly as a GK coach) and was the Thorns assistant coach before being appointed head coach. Under Norris, the Thorns finished 10-5-7 and was second in the table last year (more on this later). Norris was an obvious choice in being appointed head coach and did not rock the boat much throughout the season. His second season will feature a large mix of older veteran talent and quite a few new/incoming players. Thorns have plenty of talent for Norris to work with as long as he is able to rotate them effectively.
General Manager: Karina LeBlanc
Hired as the first sole GM of the Portland Thorns, LeBlanc has made plenty of moves in her short time. Signing or trading for players such as Hina Sugita and Janine Beckie, LeBlanc is not afraid of making moves. However, LeBlanc has fumbled a few times; most notably, drafting Sydny Nasello in 2022 without doing research into her social media history and recently losing out on re-signing restricted free agent Natalia Kuikka. Nevertheless, LeBlanc has shown she will do what she can to bring in players that want to be here and make the team stronger. With many flashy moves in her first few years, it will be interesting to see if she can keep it up.
Captain: Christine Sinclair
The Canadian GOAT. World record holder in international goals. A true Portland Thorn's and Womenā€™s soccer legend. Sinc embodies what it means to be a Thorn. There is no other team she wanted to be on and we are lucky to have her. Though she has slowed down in recent years, the Thorns would not be who they are today without Sinc. This is the last season with Sinclair, but she has cemented herself as a true legend of the Portland Thorns. (no I wasnā€™t crying while writing this :( )
Stadium: Providence Park, Soccer City, USA

Onward Rose City!
Providence Park is located in the Goose Hollow neighborhood in southwest Portland, Oregon. According to very trustworthy Wikipedia, Providence Park is the ā€œoldest facility to be configured as a soccer-specific stadium for use by a MLS teamā€ (shared with the Portland Timbers). The stadium can hold over 25,000 fans and held the highest average attendance up until recent expansions. Providence Park is historic when talking about American soccer. The atmosphere is electric on game day and has been my favorite stadium to visit so far (definitely not biased here).
Ownership: RAJ Sports
Thank God the wait is finally over! The Thorns were sold to RAJ Sports in January of this year for $63 million after it was announced over a year before they were up for sale. They are led by Lisa Bhathal Merage and Alex Bhathal, who took over the board operations. Part of the sale agreement allows the Thorns to continue to play in Providence Park through 2035 and training there through 2025. Past that, the Bathals are expecting to build a dedicated Thorns training facility. RAJ Sports should be a significant improvement over the previous ownership group.

Kits: Definitely a big change in kits this year. While last yearā€™s ā€œEd Hardyā€ kit really brought the wow factor (whether good or bad), the Thorns really toned it down this year.

Forever Thorn Kit
The Thorns primary kit is the Forever Thorn kit. It represents the ā€œexpression of joy of matchday in PDXā€. The bold colors embody raising the bar of the club, the league, and the womenā€™s game.

Reflection Kit
The secondary kit, titled Reflection, is based around the connection with the fans, city of Portland, and the club. It is a reflection of the community and civic pride. It is all dark and very clean.

Supporters Groups: Rose City Riveters
One of the loudest and proudest supporters groups in the league, the Rose City Riveters are an eclectic group brought together support womenā€™s soccer in PDX. Brought together by the love of womenā€™s soccer in Portland, they also hold many charity events and volunteer opportunities in the city. They make north end of Providence Park an exciting and electric atmosphere, with great chants and even better tifos
Subreddit: /Thorns - Decently active compared to some other teams
News and Commentary: Stumptown Footy and Riveting are 2 independent publications that follow Portland soccer and the Thorns respectively. Bothā€™s sole focus is on the Thorns & Timbers.
I do want to give a sad shout out to local reporter, Ryan Clarke of The Oregonian, who was unfortunately moved to cover the Oregon Ducks/B1G from the Timbers/Thorns with a replacement still TBD. If you followed local coverage of the Thorns or Timbers, Ryan was the one to follow and this loss really hurts getting good coverage of the teams.

2023 Season Review
The Thorns ended the 2023 season with a record 10-5-7 and 2nd in the standings for a second year in a row. Making it into the postseason with a first round bye, they would eventually lose to the eventual champions NY/NJ Gotham FC. They also finished third in their region in the Challenge Cup, completely missing its playoffs.
The 2023 season was a mixture of good and bad. Starting in the off-season, former head coach Rhian Wilkinson resigned, at the request of the players, after an investigation cleared her from having a romantic relationship with a current player (it was self-reported by Wilkinson and there were romantic feelings between the two). Thorns hired then assistant Mike Norris to take over as head coach. In January, due to findings from the joint NWSL-NWSLPA investigation, it was announced head trainer Pierre Soubrier was fired. The investigation found that Soubrier had inappropriately given 2 players medication with codeine, including one without informed consent. It was also found that assistant coach Sophie Clough had inappropriately kissed a playerā€™s neck after the semifinals win and she was subsequently fired.
After that start to the off-season, the Thorns finally kicked off their regular season play ready to defend their 2022 title. Early on, the team started off their first 6 games 3-3-0. During this time, we saw the 2nd ever goalkeeper goal in league history in stoppage time by Bella Bixby (a sick back heel goal too!) to secure a 3-3 draw against ACFC!
Continuing on through June, the Thorns posted a record of 4-1-2; finally dropping a match against the Dash. They were able to get their first ever win in Lumen Field against OL Reign, breaking Sophia Smithā€™s 7 game goal drought (in a really cool doubleheader with the menā€™s teams). This pushed the Thorns into the #1 slot of the standings. The downside of June, was the permanent transfer of former Thorn Lindsey Horan to OL (not Reign, the other OL). Although Horan hadnā€™t played with the Thorns in over a year, there was always that small hope she would return.
Unfortunately, after June, it kinda went downhill for the Thorns. In the last 8 games of the season, the Thorns went 3-1-5, dropping to 2nd in the standings and finishing the regular season with an absolute blow out, losing 5-1 against ACFC, it seemed Sophia Smithā€™s injury and the World Cup really took the wind out of the Thornā€™s sails (still thankful that the injury was only an MCL sprain after the way the replayed look).
Heading into the postseason, the Thorns had a first round bye, meaning an automatic ticket to hosting a semifinals game. Unfortunately, thatā€™s where the good news ended for the Thorns, as they lost 1-0 to Gotham FC from a heartbreaking extra time goal by Katie Stengal.
All in all, the Thorns performed as expected. They were one of the league favorites to contend for the shield and the championship, falling just short of both. And while they did not take home any hardware as a team, there were quite a few individual awards. Sophia Smith was the Golden Boot winner with 11 goals (even after missing time for the World Cup and injury). Her and Sam Coffey were also named to the First XI.

  • Marie MĆ¼ller - MF - SC Freiburg - Young MF from the youth German system that should add good depth to the midfield
  • Isabella Obaze - D - FC RosengĆ„rd - Another young player for the Danish international system. Should contend for a starting spot, but also add great depth

___
ROSTER
Preseason Roster
Goalkeepers (4): Kat Asman (DRAFT), Bella Bixby, Shelby Hogan, Lauren Kozal
Defenders (7): Kelli Hubly, Kelsey Kaufusi (DRAFT), Meghan Klingenberg, Meaghan Nally, Isabella Obaze (NYR, INTL), Reyna Reyes, Becky Sauerbrunn
Midfielders (6): Sam Coffey, Katie Duong (DRAFT), Olivia Moultrie, Gabby Provenzano, Hina Sugita (INTL), Olivia Wade-Katoa (DRAFT)
Forwards (6): Janine Beckie, Izzy Dā€™Aquila, Payton Linnehan (DRAFT), Christine Sinclair, Sophia Smith, Morgan Weaver
Predicted Preferred Gameday XI
Formation: Mike Norris primarily ran a 4-2-3-1, but with such turnover in the MF, Iā€™m interested to see if he continues. If he sticks with this, I would think heā€™d have the midfield starters below, Iā€™m just not sure who heā€™d have drop back more in-line with Coffey. So while I donā€™t think the formation below is correct, I think the starting XI below is what heā€™ll go with (at least to start out the season). We also have a glaring hole without re-signing Kuikka. Reyes and Kling started together towards the end of last season and I think this is the way Norris will at least start off with.
-------------------Hogan-------------------
--Klingenberg-----Hubly----Saubrunn---Reyes--
--------------------Coffey--------------------
ā€”ā€”Sugita-----Moultrieā€”---Flemming------
-------------Smith-----------Weaver---------
Likely Top Bench/Subs:
  • Christine Sinclair - MF/F - Still canā€™t believe this is her last year. Going to cherish the moments while silently sobbing. Sinc made a great super sub when placed there last year and I think she can provide a spark at the end of the matches
  • Janine Beckie - F - Coming off a SEI because of an ACL tear, I think Beckie will be slowly brought back up to speed and can hopefully bring in quite a few goals
  • Payton Linnehan - F - Highly touted draft pick for the Thorns. Another goal scorer who hopefully can transition well to the professional league
  • Isabella Obaze - D - No doubt the Thorns have an older than most backline. Hopefully Obaze can bring more youth to it
Returning Players
The Vets
  • Chrstine Sinclair
  • Becky Saurbrunn
  • Meghan Klingenberg
  • Kelli Hubli
(i.e. the backline)

Something to Prove
  • Olivia Moultrie - I put Moultrie down as something to prove last year and I think she should be here again. Itā€™s looking like sheā€™ll be a full-time starter this year and a potential spot on the Olympic roster. I think this will be a breakout season for her and I am excited to see her get consistent starting minutes to help her grow her game
  • Shelby Hogan - Hogan is most likely taking over the starting GK role from Bixby (at least until Bixby return from maternity leave). Portland has been known as Goalkeeper FC, thanks in part to former GK coach Nadine Angerer. Now that Angerer has departed and Hogan has a true shot as GK 1, the Thorns will need her to step up and play at a very high level
Out for the season-ish

___
2024 PREVIEW
Realistic Best Case Scenario: 1st place and/or Championship
Realistic Worst Case Scenario: 5th/6th and/or earlier round playoff exit
Realistic Most Probable Scenario: 2nd-3rd
The Thorns have lost a few key players, but have also gained tremendous talent. Our most glaring issue is our age in the back. If they can acclimate some of the younger defenders and gel a bit, a first place finish or a championship is very realistic. On the flip side, other teams below in the table have gotten better (we see you NJ/NJ USWNT FC), and acclimating to the NWSL can be hard for new/young players. The Thorns could very easily fall down the standings by not being able to match up well. Realistically, I see the Thorn finishing 2nd or 3rd, with them hitting their stride towards the end of the season. Hereā€™s to a great 2024 season, PT šŸ‘šŸ‘ FC šŸ‘šŸ‘!!

2024.03.12 00:32 anotherwinter29 Late to the Obsessed Mess drama/ Vent

First of all, forgive me if people are over the drama and all that but I literally just learned about all this so I really needed to vent to like minded people. (That's what happens when you have trouble sleeping on Sunday nights.) I've been a fan of OWN/ITN since it started, I loved it immediately, especially Ellyn. It was the pandemic so I also got into TCO in earnest as well during 2020/2021. And it was great, not gonna lie.
As for the Fest drama, I missed all of it mostly because I'm one of those people who jumps around with podcasts because I like to binge and take breaks so I can listen to a bunch of episodes. Also I never really gave a shit about Obsessed Fest. I remember looking up the info about it out of pure curiosity and frankly it was of no interest to me, but to each their own and people can spend money however they want, not my business, lol.
ANYWAY, just the other day I saw the picture of E&J with the ITN ad in Times Sq. (Amazing and I am so happy for them!) WELL that lead me down the rabbit hole of what happened with the TikTok thing, the James Renner article, the incident at Obsessed Fest '23, the Youtube video with Ellyn and Radia, et al explaining everything that happened, etc. I'm here for the drama of all this stuff and the tea, but ultimately I am so sad and angry that a decades long friendship ended because of Patrick's pettiness and from what I've learned...greed. It is just so disappointing because I really liked Patrick (Gillian is another story because she's become a little much over the years and I've learned I'm not alone in this opinion) and thought he was a good guy. I really, truly liked listening to him and Ellyn on OWD. When I heard he had written a book I 100% considered buying it...well I just removed it from my GoodReads list; many reviews said it wasn't worth the time anyway. Another interesting thing was that I was actually considering joining the TCO Patreon again (I only was a patron for a brief period, again around the pandemic) because they mentioned that they were doing all of Natalia Grace. THAT AIN'T HAPPENING NOW. P&G (and Steve as well) can go pound sand.
In conclusion, I just wanted to say after learning all of this information, I'm BEYOND HAPPY that E&J are on there own and that they are on the right side of history. From what I've learned, it shows me that E&J are just the nicest people and genuinely care about their fans. Not to mention Radia and all the others that have decided to go their own way and separate themselves from what seems to be nothing short of a tyrant (looking at you Pat).
Thanks for reading my rant. Long live ITN!
