I really wanted to become a supernote user and have eagerly waited similar to most of you here for the release of the A5X2. Not because I really want to have the newest model, but because the production of the A5X was discontinued and there are virtually no used ones on the market where I live (Sydney, Australia). Furthermore, if they indeed do another open box sale of A5X they will most likely only deliver nationally in the US as last time and as written on their website.
With a severe lack of communication and a hinted delay of the release, I really don't know what to do, because I would like to get a supernote, but need it soon: at the end of Q3 I'll move back to Europe and want to digitise the essence of my tons of paper notes before going back and then would like it during lots of commuting in the beginning of my new job.
From other comments here, I guess many are in a similar situation, where they really want to buy their first e-note device, but are just disappointed by supernote and their intransparency.
In the absence of viable options to get a supernote A5, I tend to a remarkable 2 rather than one of the boox, because I really only want a note taking device and not a super functional tablet, but would really love the hyperlinks and functionality of the supernote (which, as I understand, boox also have to some degree). I am, however, also unaware to whether boox every resolved their violation of the GNU License and won't buy from them before that is not the case.
Is anyone here in the same boat and has recommendations or alternatives?

is the big agnes copper spur 2 person worth it? open to hearing opinions. The nemo tents seem to be really good options as well. I will generally be using the tent to camp 3 seasons, and am willing to look into a better winter tent if necessary. I definitely want to be able to fit my pack in my tent. For some reason I feel weird about leaving my pack inder a vestibule while sleeping.

I respect high audio quality but I’m not exactly an audiophile. I need a new set of earbuds.
I’ve been using cheap Amazon “Tozo” brand ear buds that I bought for like $30 and I was completely fine with those. But they died. I’m sure if I had a super high quality set of ear buds I’d notice the difference if I went back to cheap ones. But the cheap ones have been perfectly fine.
I’ve always been tempted to finally get AirPod Pros. But are they “worth it?”
I don’t exactly have a need to use them for anything other than listening to music, watching videos on my lunch break, etc. probably wouldn’t use them to take phone calls on the go as I dispise the type of people that walk around 24/7 with AirPods in their ears. But I am intrigued by the ANC and the pass through technology. Don’t know what it’s called but you know the feature. The one that allows you to hear your music as well as the world around you.
The couple people I know with the Pros both rave about them. Both people are very into music, and also not really all that hyped about tech or overly quick to spend money. So their opinion telling me to buy them isn’t taken lightly.
They’re on sale right now for $189. So my question is, if I’m only concerned with audio quality, would my money be better spent on a different brand? I’m also curious if I would use the Apple specific features if I had them, and kind of don’t want to spend the same money on a different brand and lose out on those features that I could have potentially been using. For instance, I always said I didn’t need a smart watch. I got a cheap one. Now I’m a full on Apple Watch owner with its own phone line. I use it every day. I wouldn’t have thought that before I owned it.

For anyone interested in, or have already bought the Travel Case, be aware that retail stores may not honor warranty repairs. I've found conflicting information in person vs. online, so hopefully this helps as a starting point for anyone who has issues... (see TL;DR at bottom)
The battery clip for my Travel Case would not stay seated in its socket (see my post last weekend) - and several people in that thread said to take it to the Apple Store for repair under warranty. One user claiming to be an Apple Store employee said "anything that happens to it is considered out of warranty"
I made an appointment in person at the Beverly Center in LA, who said there is no warranty on the Travel Case, it's not covered by AppleCare, and the repair cost would be $199. This despite two separate chats I had with Apple online that said there is a warranty, and language on Apple's own warranty page (links below).
Ultimately, the store agreed to replace it on a "one time basis" and said that there would be no future repairs possible without paying the repair cost, which is incidentally the cost of a new case.

Finally, if it helps for anyone in the future, I've included photos of the broken clip below. I believe that either the plastic clip was originally molded incorrectly, or it was initally inserted off-axis, causing the mold to warp.

I have begun to view this through the lens of getting to watch a company (and individual leaders) I really respect make what may turn out to be a truly historic business mistake or triumph. I'm excited to be part of it! It is irritating that Sonos has done this in my home, with products I actually love. The upshot is, I am pretty confident this will turn into something others will have the opportunity to learn from. (Maybe even they can learn from it, if you they fast enough.)
What makes this a unique (and likely historically significant) mistake is that Sonos, who has extraordinary customer trust and goodwill, used that to do something that directly harms existing, installed, previously functioning customers, in their homes, with no action taken or required by the user to be affected. This is a luxury consumer appliance, not ad-driven business or something. Super sticky customer base. Impact is clearly widespread, although the most loyal customers with lots of equipment are likely disproportionately affected.
It's painful to see the years where Sonos has earned a much stronger market position also a somehow much weaker stock position relative to large companies that might have more of a "mistake budget". It's transparent to most people that they have a lot riding on upcoming releases. I have a lot of sympathy for Patrick and any CEO trying to hit numbers in hardware and beat the street's expectations. It's HARD. (it's in the name FFS.)
However, everything that has happened as part of this rollout has been an example of what not to do. Regardless of motivation or intention by Sonos, you have what are clearly a lot of customers who are feeling completely disempowered, disrupted, violated, and gaslit. You are quadrupling-down on this. From the outside, it looks completely insanity. (And, in the future, when we watch the documentary I doubt it will be portrayed as a moment of "courage". 🤣)
To that end, I was reminded of a few other are some other examples of historically bad product introductions that share common themes to this one. (note, I'm omitting ones that where people actually died like Boeing or the Ford Pinto):
New Coke (1985) - One of the most (in)famous examples is Coca-Cola’s introduction of "New Coke" which Coke itself calls "The Most Memorable Marketing Blunder in History. The company changed its original formula in an attempt to compete with Pepsi. The backlash from consumers was swift and fierce. Despite the negative response, Coke was initially reluctant to acknowledge their mistake. However, the continued public outcry forced the company to revert to the original formula, rebranded as "Coca-Cola Classic," just 79 days later.
Jawbone: The one that I fear is most relevant here is Jawbone - Jawbone, once known for its Bluetooth earpieces and fitness trackers. Their UP bands had high failure rates and syncing problems. These issues, combined with poor customer service responses to complaints and returns, led to customer dissatisfaction and alienation. Jawbone failed to and eventually went out of business in 2017.
Rdio: Rdio was a music streaming service that launched in 2010 but failed to compete effectively with Spotify and later Apple Music. Rdio made several platform updates that, rather than improving user experience, often removed liked features or made the interface less intuitive. This alienated users led to Rdio filing for bankruptcy in 2015. Its assets were eventually acquired by Pandora.
Digg: Digg was once a very popular social news website which predated Reddit. In 2010, Digg released a major update to its platform, referred to as "Digg v4," which drastically changed the site's user interface and core functionality. The update was intended to modernize the platform but ended up alienating its core user base who felt that the changes prioritized publisher content over user-curated content. The backlash was swift resulted to many people simply migrating to a little startup Reddit. The traffic decline was so significant that Digg never recovered and was sold in a fire-sale.
At this point, I'm at hoping that there is an internal document that was widely circulated and agreed to that says "We expect that, due to the current condition of the new release, there will be considerable backlash from our most valuable customers. We acknowledge that this release may irrevocably violate their trust, and we are willing to sacrifice every single one of those relationships and our existing goodwill if necessary to get this release out." If so, I hope that they are proven right!
Also, full disclosure, I bought a single share of Sonos stock last week to track how it goes.

I searched and didn’t see this specific issue. 2024 Tucson Hybrid Limited. I’m a territory sales rep so I drive around two states visiting accounts. I use Apple CarPlay to connect to Google Maps because that’s where I originally entered my accounts years ago.
It worked great for the first three months or so. Now, about every fourth time I start my car, CarPlay doesn’t connect properly so that I can actually SEE Google Maps on the car’s screen. It seems that the only thing that fixes the issue is to turn off the car for a period of time, and when I go back, so far it always reappears. (I’ve tried everything I can think of.)
This is problematic. I’ve got a couple workarounds but I’d rather solve the problem. Any ideas? TIA

Strike mid foot and heel when I start to fatigue.
Been running in the Brooks Glycerin 21. I like them the are durable my feet, knees, and back like them. On longer runs they start to feel a bit heavy and don't have much bounce.
Was looking for something similar to the Glycerin but with a little bit softer foam with a little energy for late into long runs
Tried the endorphin speed 3 but they rubbed my heel like crazy and caused blisters. But they felt great underfoot. The Triumph 21 was on sale so I gave them a shot.
Foam feels similar to the ES3 but not the same pop (assuming because it doesn't have a plate). Fits my feet great and I have a wider foot. Doesn't have the same heel as the ES3 so no rub.
Really enjoyingvthe shoe so far. Soaks up miles and my feet, knees, feel good. Has some more squish but feels like there's energy return.. Not a ton but enough for me. I don't feel like I'm bottoming them out.
Really like em so far. Have a marathon at the end of the summer and might use them for that.

Hi All.
Ive mentioned in a few of my comments before that I am planning to build a PC with my son for his birthday who is graduating from high school this year. The parts list is here https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/list/4j2wQP .
Cost has been a major consideration for this and this is actually already over budget although I am expecting the price to go down for a few of the components in the next month or so as thats when the sales start where I am from. The other consideration with these choices is that aestheics are also important as this is for a teenager after all so this is why an aquarium case and AIO watercooling have been picked. Its been a running joke in the family that he likes white too much (he loves white shorts for some reason) which is why I am picking white parts. Ive ordered a matching white mouse/desk pad from the anime he likes as well.
I was thinking of an AMD GPU but the 7800XT or a 4070 costs a bit too much. Depending on how the sales go I might need to even go with a 4060. I also went with an AM5 build so he can upgrade this machine if he would like to 5 or so years down the line when he has finished his studies and starts working.
The PC aside from gaming will be used for his hobbies as well which is game development and animation. Sharing my steam account is the bit I am thinking will be a big issue though 😆
