workers were supposed to come replace the windows of my (rented) studio apartment yesterday while i was at work. for this, i needed to move about half of my furniture to give them room to work and cover it up to protect from dust and debris.
the time frame they gave was 7-17, so i got up early to be ready at 7, even though i didn’t need to leave for work until 9. they hadn’t come in by the time i left, but they were working on the two neighbouring apartments, so i figured they’d get to mine later in the day.
fastforward ten hours, i get home from work. old windows are still there, and i have a note that says they’re pushing the work on my apartment until the next day (today) because of an accident. which is a problem for two reasons: 1) all my stuff is piled up out of the way, making most of my living space inaccessible for the whole night, and 2) today is my day off, which i intended to spend chilling at home, celebrating the birthday of my cat who recently passed, and putting back all the furniture i had to move.
well, nothing i can do about it. i spend the evening working around my piled up furniture and once again have to get up early this morning.
as if all of that weren’t mildly infuriating enough, guy finally comes in around ten, and tells me they are now missing one of my two windows. he didn’t say, but presumably they broke one in the aforementioned accident. regardless, he asks if i want them to install the other one today, or wait about two weeks for them to get the second one in.
since i had already moved the furniture in front of the big window, i told them to go ahead and get that one in at least so i can put it all back. so now i’m typing this sitting in a nearby park, quietly seething and waiting for them to get the really noisy part of the work done so i can go back in.
tl;dr window installers didn’t do the work when they said they would, thus messing up my whole schedule, and then were only able to do half the work when they showed up a day late

For context I am 22 F. I guess I came on here for validation or something. Actually I don’t know why I’m here but this is how I feel. My days are boring and LONELY. I have no job. I don’t have a desire to work. I can’t work at the moment anyway (mental health struggles and awaiting other things that I need to get back into work). My family works. I’m home alone all day every weekday. I have Autism and ADHD. My family do not support my diagnosis or needs (sensory, emotional, support needs). I had a partner who I was with for 2 years. They were my person. Before we got together, I had quite a few friends. I was my own person and so were they. During the relationship, I lost pretty much all of my friends due to them moving away, not being good friends or we just slowly drifted. My partner and I just broke up. I broke up with them for many reasons. We have different ways of showing love, they lied to me multiple times and they weren’t meeting my needs in our relationship while I was doing the most. I feel like I really lost myself while being in a relationship. I didn’t hang out with people as much or do the things I used to love doing, but I was happy. Now that it’s over, I don’t know what I’m doing with myself. I have no motivation for anything in life anymore. My ex was my main support, someone to always talk to, do things we both loved together and my best friend. I had met new friends during our relationship but they aren’t “close” friends. I can’t expect them to talk to me every day and support me all the time. I miss having a best friend. I don’t understand how people make new friends or become close friends with them. I’m socially anxious and awkward so I can’t go out and just talk to new random people. I haven’t been eating enough, taking care of myself or doing anything really since we broke up. On top of all of this my chronic pain seems to be worsening and I’m just so so lost and exhausted with life. I don’t want to rush into another relationship and tbh it feels like nobody can love me the way I want to be loved.

The interesting facts presented here may also be entertaining for people who do not know the work of The Loner of Providence, but some of the references may be unclear to them. The article contains several anecdotes – either from real history or from beliefs that exist in the real world, and suggestions on how they can be related to the Cthulhu mythology. So read about:

Invasion of the Sea Peoples
Ancient, super-advanced, fallen civilizations are one of the favorite motifs of fantasy. And truth be told, something similar happened in real history. Of course, in reality, the fallen civilizations did not have sci-fi supertechnology at their disposal, but their collapse still led to great destabilization. We are talking about the invasion of the so-called Sea Peoples, which took place at the turn of the 13th and 12th centuries BC. The Sea Peoples are mobile and warlike groups of people of unknown origin. They caused the collapse of several advanced cultures, including: Mycenaean and Hittite. Only the Egyptians managed to defeat them in a great battle. Well, the material for Lovecraftian inspiration is obvious. A mysterious army, coming out of nowhere, called the „Sea Peoples”, leading to the fall of the most powerful human civilizations at that time? Let us add that, according to some historians, the descendants of the Sea Peoples destroyed by the Egyptians were the Philistines. Yes, the same Philistines, one of whose main deities was the well-known Dagon to Lovecraftomaniacs… Deep Ones say hello. Let us also add that, according to Egyptian records, the tribes of the Sea Peoples had names such as Ekvesh, Teresh, Lucki, Sherden, Shekelesh, Tekel and Peleset. Sounds suitably dark, blasphemous and filthy? If we want to dig deeper, one of the pharaohs who ruled Egypt was Akhenaten – yes, that heretic who tried to replace the worship of traditional Egyptian gods with the religion of the Aten and who is very much liked by conspiracy theorists. Let’s add to the mix that Middle Eastern cultures had quite a negative attitude towards the sea as such. Babylonian Marduk had to defeat the giant monsters of Chaos – Apsu and Tiamat, personifications of fresh and salt waters, respectively. The Bible also contains traces of the myth about the fight between Yahweh and Leviathan, and the Book of Revelation, describing the new, ideal world, emphasizes that „I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.” Let’s assume that the players are researchers of an antiquity – historians, archaeologists, etc. They conduct research on the Sea Peoples. Of course, as common sense dictates, they assume that these were human warriors. However, as time goes on, more and more evidence appears that they were not completely human again, and the evidence of their monstrosity becomes increasingly difficult to put down to the demonization that Egyptian chroniclers used against their enemies… It becomes clear that an onslaught of inhuman and semi-human monsters came from the sea. , trying to conquer the world of that time. Moreover, after their defeat at the hands of the Egyptians, this species did not become extinct, but instead of open conquest it switched to cautious infiltration. Perhaps the Deep Ones have spies in academia who are tasked with eliminating historians who find the trail of truth…
Oh, one more interesting fact connecting the history of the Sea Peoples with Lovecraft. Well, as we know, HPL liked to use the term „Cyclopean” for huge, monumental buildings. At least he didn’t come up with it himself. Well, when the later (and at first more primitive) inhabitants, the Dorians, saw the ruins of destroyed castles left by the Mycenaean culture, they came to the conclusion that such huge buildings could not have been built by human hands, so they were probably the work of mythical giants – cyclopes.
Typhon – a classic but forgotten abomination
Modern works drawing on Greek mythology usually make Hades (completely senseless) or Kronos (a little more) the Big Bad, but they forget about Zeus’s greatest enemy – Typhon. After defeating the titans and then the gigants, the Olympian gods had to face the main boss on the way to dominating the world – Typhon. Here is an example of its description: It was larger than the largest mountains, its head touched the stars. When he stretched out his hands, one reached the eastern ends of the world and the other reached the western ends. Instead of fingers, he had a hundred dragon heads. From the waist down he had a tangle of vipers (yay, tentacles!) and wings at his shoulders. His eyes were shooting out flames. In other versions of the myth, Typhon was a flying, hundred-headed dragon. In any case – appearance and stature worthy of the Great Old One. Typhon attacked Olympus, and all the gods except Zeus fled in panic. The supreme god took up the fight… and lost it. Only in the second duel did he manage to defeat Typhon, but not kill him – he only imprisoned him, hitting him with Etna. In the sense of a mountain. A volcano – and volcanic activity is the result of Typhon’s anger, trying to break free. Typhon equaled the lord of heaven not only in strength, but in fertility. His wife was Echidna, about whom Hesiod wrote: „She also gave birth to another creature, invincible, huge, unlike neither men nor immortal gods, in a hollow cave – the divine violent Echidna, half a sharp-eyed young girl, with beautiful cheeks, half a huge snake, a great and powerful, spotted, cruel – in the depths of the holy land. This pair spawned many, if not most, of the monsters found in Greek mythology. Their offspring were very diverse and strange, as befits the spawn of enemies of the divine order, including: – Ladon, the hundred-headed dragon who never slept and guarded the apples that gave immortality, – Cerberus – we all know the dog guarding the gates of hell… but not all of us know that, according to some accounts, it had not three heads, but as many as 50, it was also covered with scales, and it had a snake by its tail… so what does this have to do with a dog? – Scylla – this lady inherited the most from the human, beautiful part of Echidna… at least initially, but eventually, as a result of various perturbations, she turned from a beautiful nymph to her siblings, becoming a six-headed sea beast, so hideous, according to Homer, that even the gods could not stand sight of her – she dwelt in a cave, from where she opened her mouth to devour the crews of ships, – Gorgons – I mean, those ladies with snake hair, not monstrous bulls. Medusa was one of them – the story that Athena turned her priestess into a monster as punishment for being raped by Poseidon is an invention of later poets, – Lernaean Hydra – a multi-headed monster with many reptilian or human heads. In place of each severed head, two others grew, and in addition, the main head was completely immortal – therefore, after chopping off the mortal heads, Heracles had to burn the stumps and bury the immortal, still hissing head underground. Hydra’s breath was poisonous. – various other creatures, such as the Sphinx, the dog Ortus, the Nemean Lion or the Chimera. Each of these descendants has the potential to be portrayed as an Eldritch abomination in its own right. To be precise – according to some accounts, the father of these creatures (and Echidna herself) was Typhon, but a monstrous, ancient (older than Poseidon) sea god, Phorcys. How to use Typhon? Well, Typhon clearly has the potential to be a Great Old One, imprisoned by… Nodens? Some other Elder God? Weak gods of humanity? Maybe his cult is trying to free him from Etna? What if he succeeds? What might distinguish Typhon from many other Great Old Ones? I would recommend focusing on his monster progenitor aspect – if he manages to reunite with Echidna, they will immediately start spawning various blasphemous beasts in series.
Jan Twardowski – the first man on the Moon
Jan (John) Twardowski, the hero of the legend, a Polish nobleman who allegedly sold his soul to the devil and became a sorcerer. Probably a historical figure, according to legend he lived in the 16th century and became famous for summoning the spirit of the deceased queen for King Sigismund Augustus. The ghost allegedly appeared in the mirror. This mirror is still kept in the church in Węgrów. According to legend, when the terms of the pact were fulfilled, devils came to kidnap Twardowski to hell. Interestingly, instead of taking the sorcerer’s soul after death, the most material demons appeared and grabbed Twardowski in order to kidnap him bodily, alive… and instead of heading towards the underground, which in legends is considered the traditional place of residence of demons and damned souls, they began to carry away up with him. At some point, Twardowski started singing religious songs, which caused the demons to escape, leaving him on the Moon, where he is said to have stayed ever since. Could the “demons” actually be extraterrestrials? Maybe mi-go? Maybe Twardowski was their agent and obtained secret knowledge and technology from them that gave him the fame of a sorcerer? As part of his studies, did he acquire knowledge of a system of sounds („religious songs”) that was able to drive away his masters when they decided that his usefulness on Earth had ended and it was time to transport him to a space base where he would be transformed into a brain in jar? Or was transportation to the Moon part of the deal from the beginning? Oh, one more interesting fact – according to legends, Twardowski used to use a rooster as a horse, which he enlarged with his magic. It’s easy to imagine an abomination that, in the eyes of laymen, might have resembled a large rooster… Examples of scenario hooks: – Twardowski’s secret mirror is still in the church in Węgrów. The local priest thinks it is just other „pagan” superstitions, but in fact it is a tool enabling contact with cosmic beings and higher realities. It may prove useful to players if they convince the priest to give it back or simply steal it. – Players are looking for Twardowski’s notes to gain knowledge about the „song” thanks to which he drove away mi-go (or other creatures that became the prototype of the „devils” from the legend). The so-called Twardowski’s „School” or „Cathedral” was located in a quarry near Kraków. In fact, at the end of the 19th century, during the construction of the church of St. Józef, a cave showing traces of alchemical experiments was discovered… And it was destroyed. But perhaps there is a second, secret laboratory under the cave that escaped destruction? And there lie Twardowski’s secrets… And again, potential obstacles may be placed by the local parish priest. But not only him. Maybe Twardowski’s legendary „rooster” lies dormant in the laboratory and was left by the sorcerer as a guard? – players are astronauts on the Moon. However, it turns out that someone lives here, someone who was not detected by previous expeditions and probes. Will Twardowski prove to be an ally in the fight against cosmic horrors? Or maybe their agent, or an independent villain? If he survived this long on the Moon thanks to blasphemous secrets, it’s possible that he had little humanity left…

This may not seem like an off my chest to most but it really is. I wish I was able to use reddit in the past three years i didnt use reddit since I was banned in the main off my chest subreddit. back then i had a different account. The main reasons i didnt come back to reddit sooner was 70% because i was overthinking what username i would be satisfied with, 20% because i was wondering how to keep the data i had in my previous account since i still got valuable insights from other users through that account and 10% because the past few weeks ive been trying to make an account there was a glitch that wouldnt let me post in reddit at all. It was only now when I made an account using my phone that I was able to post again. For other people their way of connecting with people would be different social media sites like twitter and tumblr, especially when it came to fandoms. But for me it was reddit. Like twitter and tumblr, anonimity was normal and I could find like minded individuals. I miss talk to people who I can relate with as well as sharing ideas with others about the things I like and these topics just branching out as people comment and comment. And I just really happy to be able to post again. I dont know it felt futile the past few weeks. Im not saying all the answers are here, but I know that at the very least if people are here in reddit i think a little bit of them also want the same thing I do, which ia to find people they vibe with and discuss and trade ideas with. This is juat a big deal for me sorry. Lots of times i just feel i have such niche interests or it just so happens the people around me just arent in the same wavelength as me.

My boyfriend (28m) and I (26m) are traveling for a bit over 3 weeks. One of the stops is his home town. We’ve been together 3.5 years.
A guy messages him on instagram Saturday saying something like “hey how’s it going handsome?” And he pretended not to know who it is. Later the next day I asked him again who that was, and he acted like he had no clue what I was talking about. He scrolled through some messages and stopped before getting to his, quickly being like, see no one is there.
Today, I checked his past notifications and saw that same day he did at least exchange messages. As I saw more from this guy. The notification I saw was the guy had liked my boyfriend’s message, telling him relationships can be hard. My guess is it’s not her guy from the past he met and is in another relationship now. But still has feelings for my boyfriend and hits him up (wouldn’t be the first).
For some history, back in September, he was chatting with an old hookup who was sending him nudes and talking dirty (never sent anything back).
I found him chatting with another past connection who was sending him dick pics. My boyfriend never engaged heavily, but asked for pics. Never sent. But talked about my genitals in comparison and our sex life to him.
He had a bunch of nudes and messages from past guys from before we were dating that I was uncomfortable with. He wouldn’t let me see in his photos saying it’s none of my business. He refused to remove anyone who he’s no longer friends with, who he had sexual interactions or chats with from Grindr.
Last night he was also mentioning how his friend, who he still talks with, was the best sex he’s ever had (it’s not the first time he mentioned this).
He says he never has done anything to cheat on me and gets mad when I confront him about this stuff and we’ve gone through lots of conversations about how he’s mad and I need to trust him. But then he continuously hides things like this from me.
We have more than 2 weeks on this trip left. And we are going to be traveling with others too soon.
Now today I’ve just been angry and distant after seeing that he lied to me about that guy. It just keeps reopening the same trust issue wound.
If I confront him about how upset I am I bet he will tell me I’m overreacting and get mad I don’t trust him. And the time difference is too big to properly chat with anyone about this from back home.

Hey all, looking for some inspiration. For some years I had a great habit of reading the Bible each night and just noting down some things that struck me or questions in a notebook. Post having kids I've found it harder to have a regular schedule to read. I still do, but it's more sporadic than I like.
Anyway, I was just curious: what does your daily Bible reading or study time look like? What's your structure? How long do you go? Do you read big passages or study smaller parts? Do you use additional Christian books or devotionals?

I know the title sounds shady, but please hear me out. I am not wanting to con potential recruiters, but my title is really weird and doesn’t make sense to anyone outside of my company.
My title is one of a kind so don’t want to post what it is exactly, but it includes the word “Concierge.” Nothing wrong with the word, and would make sense for someone who works in hotels or hospitality. The problem is, is that my company calls the customer service department the concierge team. I do chat, email, and phone support for our network’s intranet system and tools (i.e. CRM system, website, marketing tools, etc.). My LinkedIn recommends hotel concierge jobs all the time since it is in my title, and in the handful of interviews I have had in the last year, a couple of the people I spoke with asked me to clarify what concierge was. Because of this, I want to change the word “Concierge” to “Customer Service” in my title because I feel it’s less confusing and still true to what I do. If I change my title like this, how would a potential new employer react if they found out about it? Would it cause issues or be a big deal?

Back story - at my workplace we’ve only ever really given gifts for “big” birthdays, 18,21,30,40 etc and this is my 27th - so not a big deal
But we’re a fairly small team, and we’re rarely ever in for our actual birthdays (this is my first time being in work on my actual bday since starting 6 years ago)
Last year 2 of our team turned 30, so of course we got them gifts. The most recent birthday we had was for our apprentice who turned 17, this wasn’t a big birthday but we felt it would help him feel more welcome so got him gifts and a card too.
That started a conversation between me and my manager where we said we should start doing little gifts for everyone on all of their birthdays and agreed its just a nice thing to do.
Anyway, i came into work yesterday and no one had gotten me anything. The main thing that upset me about this was that i drive one of my colleagues into work everyday, he doesn’t drive so i pick him up every morning and just kind of thought he’d maybe use my birthday as a way to show appreciation for this (i dont ask him for any money or anything).
Ultimately, its not wildy out of the ordinary and i’m definitely not going to kick up a fuss about it. But i find birthdays quite depressing anyway and would be lying if i said it didn’t upset me and leave me in an off mood for the day.
Is this valid? or am i just overreacting?

Long story short, I’m 26 and the grandson is 34. I never thought about going for someone with that big of an age gap, but I’ve thought about how is just a number, especially when you approach your later 20s. And as I get older, 30 and 35 don’t seem as old as I thought they were. I’m not opposed to being introduced to someone that I know mutually through someone else, but here’s the tricky part of it: his grandmother is also my patient. And at first I didn’t think she was being serious, and so I kindly declined. But as the days went on, she continued to bring it up. And part of me didn’t see it as a big deal, but I don’t exactly have guys lining up for me. But I also took it as a compliment, that she holds me to such high regard, to want me to even meet her grandson. I’ve been told I don’t put myself out there, but is anyone ever perfectly okay with potentially making a fool of themself trying to meet someone organically? Anyway, back to the grandson….normally if it was neighbor trying to set me up with their grandson, I’d be less hesitant, but since it involves a patient’s family member, I feel like major ethical concerns come into play. But also idk if he’s even agreed to do it either. Because at first I said no, but now I feel like I’m shooting my shot but not taking her up on her offer. And call me crazy, but what if I’m stepping in the way of meeting my dare you say…soulmate? Because this grandma (love her dearly, I’m actually quite close with her) is 94, so she knows a thing or two, especially with how well she knows her grandson. And she said I’m just his type. And I know she talks about both of us to one another, she’s literally trying to set us up. And like I said, I’m not sure if he agreed to meeting me. But through all the thoughts I’ve had, I keep coming back to how hard it is to meet someone nowadays, and how sometimes being set up actually works out. My parents started dating by my mom asking a mutual friend of her’s and my dad, if he wanted to go to a party with her. He agreed and after that party, they started dating. So they were age 16 and they’re 59 now, so you do the math. In the few weeks of this going on, the times he’s been visiting her, I’m always busy at that same time with other patients, so we end up missing each other. And I hope she didn’t tell him that I’m hiding, because I’m literally not hiding…except one time when I could hear her calling out about me from down the hall “there she is!”. I felt so awkward being singled out like that, I literally walked into a random room, not thinking they would be coming down the hall and passing me in the room. FML. And as they passed by the room, she shouted “there she is!” again FML 😭 I’m also not trying to come off desperate if I agree to meet him, but what if he wasn’t even on board to begin with. And then I just look Iike fool who agreed to meet him, even though I’m caring for his grandmother. Is that cringe? Men: what should I do? Would you agree if you were the grandson? Most Cultivation (ie. Wuxia/Xianxia) systems boil down to "higher realm/bigger number = more stronger, but maybe you'll Shonen protagonist your way past that". The ones that don't tend to involve a fixed progression through a convoluted series of new super powers. I am working on a new story (separate from my other stuff posted to this sub) in which I hope to do things a little more freeform, but without it being so freeform that nobody can track how anything works. (Being easy to follow is one of the big advantages of "higher realm = more stronger" systems.) Here's what I've got so far, please let me know if it's too much to follow:
In this system, cultivators cycle through three stages of cultivation: Foundation Building, Core Formation and Realm Ascension. Each stage has exercises which can be pursued while in that stage to make reaching the next stage easier or which will provide benefits in both the current stage and the next one. These are usually semi-optional and have no set end point - you repeat them until you feel that you have done 'enough' and are ready to reach the next stage with what you already have.
Foundation Building involves three fundamental operations:

• Qi Gathering draws spiritual energy into the body, which can be used to substitute for bodily needs or to slow aging. Qi also fuels martial techniques and is needed for most (but not all) Core Formation methods. It generally becomes obsolete in Core Formation, as Cores internally produce Qi, but it's a skill that gets retained across Ascensions, so practice here is never really wasted.
  
• Body Tempering expels impurities, holistically improving one's health. The cultivator becomes stronger, faster, more alert and more enduring. It is easily combined with technique training and with Qi-assisted fasting. Many Meridian Clearing and Core Formation techniques require a certain level of Tempering to survive using them. It's also very useful for simply surviving in more dangerous worlds.
  
• Meridian Clearing removes blockages from the meridian system, allowing supernatural techniques to be learned. Three nearly universal techniques include the light body, iron skin and third eye techniques. It can be done with raw Qi and meditation, or with potent alchemical medicines. The same skills also go into more esoteric Core Forming techniques.
  

While it is theoretically possible to 'complete' Foundation Building by clearing all meridians, expelling all impurities and becoming fully saturated with Qi, nobody does that in practice. Qi Gathering isn't efficient enough to fully halt aging, so you'd die before you got there.
Core Formation involves forming a Core in one or more of the body's three dantians (Upper, Middle and Lower). There are hundreds of Core Formation techniques, each of which produces a subtly different kind of Core, but they can be broadly categorized into Golden (boring but practical optimized Qi generator), Elemental (strongly aligned with a particular element), Spiritual (connects you to another realm), Companion (connects you to another cultivator), Treasure (connects you to a treasured object) or Ancestral (fully formed core inherited from an ascended ancestor). Core Formation is generally regarded as being 'complete' once all three slots are filled with some kind of Core, but it's possible to Ascend with just one or two, if for some reason you didn't have time to make more.
When the cultivator is ready for Realm Ascension, they typically build a 'cocoon' or 'tomb' or 'palace' (terms vary with philosophy) and seal themselves inside of it. The cultivator must then project their Core(s) into another Realm of existence (typically highemore heavenly; but Realm Descension going downward into worse and more hellish realms is also possible), effectively reincarnating them with their memories intact in the target realm. Their Cores are consumed in the process, creating a body for them in this higher realm. Their earthly remains erupt into a horde of deadly monsters, which the 'cocoon' is intended to contain. It is possible to Ascend without making one, but generally results in other Core Formation cultivators teaming up to kick your ass and stop you.
Your choice of Core Formation technique(s) during the prior stage has a heavy influence on what you reincarnate into after Realm Ascension. Golden and Elemental Cores give you more Qi to work with when shaping your new body, Spiritual Cores help guide you to the target realm, Treasure and Companion Cores ensure you reincarnate alongside your treasure or companion and Ancestral Cores require that you leave one or more Cores behind as Ancestral Cores instead of bringing them along. Each Core Formation technique has its own minor variations on these benefits.
Once you're in a new Realm, the whole thing starts over again. You're a Foundation Builder, so you go through the above process anew. Your circumstances may mean you make different choices (perhaps you have access to better medicine or training during Foundation Builder? Perhaps you discover a new Core Forming Technique), but sometimes mean that you adapt your existing techniques to new circumstances (if you have a Dao Companion who has followed you through three Realms thus far, you're probably going to be forming a Companion Core with them this time too).

So here's the story:
I have 3 hard drive:

1. The main SSD one, where I have Windows and other programs installed (C:)
   
2. A smaller SSD one, where I have some video games installed (E:)
   
3. A big HHD one, where I keep documents (D:)
   

I was downloading an update for a game installed on my E drive when I noticed that there was no space on it (it had like 2 GB of free space and there were weird sounds coming from my drive) so I decided to just uninstall that game.
However, I noticed that in the file explorer, it still showed the old disk space as if the game wasn't uninstalled. I then opened Steam and noticed that other games I had on my E driver were now displayed as not installed.
I tried restarting my PC and now the E drive is completely missing from the file explorer (as well as from Steam). I opened the device manager and under "Disk Drives" saw it displayed as "Unknown Device". I tried to troubleshoot it, but it said it was working properly. I then tried to update its drivers and to "Scan for hardware changes" and the drive disappeared from the device manager altogether.
The drive seems to be missing from the BIOS as well, and the boot time of my PC is longer now. Previously it used to be a few seconds but now it takes about 5 minutes (possibly because it's trying to boot up the cooked E drive?).
So here are my questions:

1. Did the drive fail? Can I save it somehow?
   
2. Assuming there's no saving it, what exactly should I do to make sure my PC works properly? Should I just remove it physically and that's it? Do I need to do some further "cleaning" of my system? I only had some Steam games installed on it, nothing else.

I tend to love the idea of efficiency and getting stuff done. I have a daily routine filled with small but necessary tasks to fulfil to give myself a steady supply of purposefulness. Yet, I tend to procrastinate on some things if I think the process by which could be achieved cannot be done efficiently.
However when it comes to my big purpose and driving factor in life it comes down to achieving happiness and making sure my emotions are taken care of. Although I’m not very good at this. I tend to neglect them for prolonged periods of time in order to achieve a long term result. And this idea of achieving happiness is more of an observation of the underlying mechanisms at play in people’s life’s. My preferred outlook is either hedonism or utilitarianism.

Long story short, I’m 26 and the grandson is 34. I never thought about going for someone with that big of an age gap, but I’ve thought about how is just a number, especially when you approach your later 20s. And as I get older, 30 and 35 don’t seem as old as I thought they were. I’m not opposed to being introduced to someone that I know mutually through someone else, but here’s the tricky part of it: his grandmother is also my patient. And at first I didn’t think she was being serious, and so I kindly declined. But as the days went on, she continued to bring it up. And part of me didn’t see it as a big deal, but I don’t exactly have guys lining up for me. But I also took it as a compliment, that she holds me to such high regard, to want me to even meet her grandson. I’ve been told I don’t put myself out there, but is anyone ever perfectly okay with potentially making a fool of themself trying to meet someone organically? And call me crazy, but what if I’m stepping in the way of meeting my dare you say…soulmate? Because this grandma (love her dearly, I’m actually quite close with her) is 94, so she knows a thing or two, especially with how well she knows her grandson. And she said I’m just his type. And I know she talks about both of us to one another, she’s literally trying to set us up. And like I said, I’m not sure if he agreed to meeting me. But through all the thoughts I’ve had, I keep coming back to how hard it is to meet someone nowadays, and how sometimes being set up actually works out. My parents started dating by my mom asking a mutual friend of her’s and my dad, if he wanted to go to a party with her. He agreed and after that party, they started dating. So they were age 16 and they’re 59 now, so you do the math. In the few weeks of this going on, the times he’s been visiting her, I’m always busy at that same time with other patients, so we end up missing each other. And I hope she didn’t tell him that I’m hiding, because I’m literally not hiding…except one time when I could hear her calling out about me from down the hall “there she is!”. I felt so awkward being singled out like that, I literally walked into a random room, not thinking they would be coming down the hall and passing me in the room. FML. And as they passed by the room, she shouted “there she is!” again FML 😭 I’m also not trying to come off desperate if I agree to meet him, but what if he wasn’t even on board to begin with. And then I just look Iike fool who agreed to meet him, even though I’m caring for his grandmother. Is that cringe? Men: what should I do? Would you agree if you were the grandson? I noticed something today that I have never seen anyone mention.
The perception perk Grenadier increases the size of your explosions, everyone knows this. Most games will give you upgrades in terms of the % area increase (ie. Increases explosion area by 50%). Pizza Math shows us that this doesn't mean the width of the explosion is all that much larger.
However, Demolition Expert increases the radius of your explosions by up to 100%. This has big implications. You can tell because it makes big booms.
Geometry tells us that the volume of a sphere is: V=4/3πr^3.
Let's say your default explosion radius is 1 unit (since we're dealing percentages, the math works regardless of whether it's one explosive legendary shotgun pellet or a missile). Using the formula, we see that the total volume of your explosion is 4.19 units^3.
Let's increase that radius value to 2, representing the 100% increase that your Demolition perks provide. Now your explosion covers 33.59 units^3, or 8 times more volume than with no perks.
One might argue that in practice the effects are somewhat diminished because we rarely get to take advantage of the Z-axis in combat. Most enemies are on roughly the same horizontal plane.
Have no fear! Even accounting for this, calculating the area of a circle in only two dimensions, you are still hitting an area 4x larger than with no perks. So you see, even with the most generous accounting, thats still huge mileage for 2 points.
Turn your trash grenades and explosive legendaries into tagging machines. Turn near misses into hits. Turn whoever happens to be standing nearby into bloody chunks.
I'm particularly enjoying this perk with the Explosive Palm legendary perk, but there are probably other applications.

I (31) M have recently resolved a 6 year relationship. We had many plans for the future and I have been working through these feelings inorder to get to a stage where I could date again.
I currently don't feel like I can open myself up to anyone, so I have not been dating.
Also, Ive been taking this time to see a therapist (first time in my life). I would categorise my emotional intelligence as low and know I need to fix that.
The problem is I want kids and a family. I'm almost 32. I fear that the time which it will take to develop myself to who I want (and need) to be to start a family, and the time it will take to emotionally recover from my previous relationship, puts me at an awkward age.
I am fairly decent looking. I've always had girlfriends and never had any issue finding someone to date. Which is why I want to make sure I don't just rush into another relationship and make sure I take the time to work on myself.
But is that worth risking being 33 and trying to find a girl who wants kids? I feel most girls who want kids would have had kids by that age.
Am I over thinking this?

TLDR; secretly bought an engagement ring a year ago because my girlfriend wanted it, now she wants something else
My girlfriend has been very wishy washy about proposals/engagements. She is always asking "when are we going to get married" "I cannot wait until I am your wife!" "When is the proposal" Etc, but every time I try and sit down to talk with her about her actual marriage goals and expectations, or what she wants out of an engagement she freezes up and either goes on about something that does not really matter for right now, or has no opinion at all. I have asked her time and time again about just simple things like her gold colour preference or if she wants a diamond just so I can vaguely get an idea of what I need to look for, only to get no straight answer.
Well, she finally settled on an idea and told me about it and showed me some photos. I talked to her at length about what drew her to that style, why she preferred it, what were hard yesses and nos, and if it truly felt right. She seemed very excited by it all and so I quietly got to work behind the scenes and not long after bought the actual ring from the inspo pics.
It was a true vintage secondhand ring from a seller on etsy. I had to take it to a local jewler to get sized. I bought the ring in December '23 and had it resized this January and it has been sitting in my closet since. I wanted to propose in April but we had some life stuff going on so I waited. I have been planning to propose at the end of next month as we are taking a vacation to a spot that is special to her. I have been keeping this ring a secret for 6 months now!
And today she mentioned how she is "not so sold on that ring style I mentioned before". Oh. My. God. The panic that ran through me during our conversation. I hoped I did not let it show but I have been internally freaking out all day. She says she is not so sure if it feels right to her anymore and that she might want something more classic (it was a coloured ring so ""untraditional""). But she "still needs to think about it". I suggested we go to a jeweler and let her try on all kinds of different rings in person so she can gauge her style in reality, not just pictures. She had been asking about that style for about 7-10 months before I felt like it was a solid enough idea of hers to feel comfortable purchasing.
But Y'ALL?!?!?! Whaaaaaat am I supposed to do with the other ring I bought??? I logged into etsy today to see if I could contact the seller and ask about returning it even though I had it sized and their store is no longer active. I know I could take it to a local jewler and sell it for scrap but I would hate to do that especially since I would be losing so much. I was thinking about saving it and giving it to her as a future birthday or christmas gift. But now I do not know what to do!! I spent my whole budget on it! Now I have to either find a way to sell it asap or find a way to explain why I suddenly need to save for her (new 😫) ring when it was not an issue before. I am also scared that I am going to get a new ring just for her to change her mind again. Why does this have to feel so impossible 😭
(And for those of you that will suggest putting her in charge- we have discussed this. I have always said that she can design the ring and we will have it made under her instruction. But she wants it to be a complete surprise so I am not left with a lot of wiggle room lol)

Sharing because this sub helped me for a long time, and my case has many “weird” things that I saw others having doubts:
My case “weirdness”:

• 160 days outside of the uk once during covid
• hmrc site not showing my first employer on PAYE at all (still dont know why)
• changed job multiple times

Details about these things: I didnt need letter from previous employers, including the one which I had this big absence, just the current one.
The one which was missing on PAYE got me really scared as I was reading many old cases from 2013-2018 and saw many had their ILR denied because of this, I was totally panicking lol. But it seems it wasnt an issue, altho I had all payslips of my first employer and bank statements just in case, it wasn’t needed.
Changing jobs multiple times also wasn’t an issue.
Timeline ( super priority ):

• Application submitted on thursday.
• Biometrics taken on following tuesday
• ILR received on same day waiting for the brp now

In the end seems it was still very straightforward and not a complicated case. Super happy to finally have this settled :)

I have been struggling with it since like the end of kindergarten ,beginning of school, without knowing what it was.
And when I was to old for non stop hyper all waking second of the day,
I was so scared of being weird and fit in even less than I did, and scared to do something at home, so they would start thinking i was weird and not like me either..
So I hid it as best i could, i took everything that came with that and pushed it as far down and hid it as i just could managed , had some small outlets when I was alone at home, and the times i cracked at home, it was either against my Brothers, and because of lack of selfregulation, it was either exploding with anger, crying hystericly, screaming as loud and as long my lungs and voice would let me from irritation or frustration, or having the same extremes with positive feelings, they most likely thought i was a normal part bipolar, part psychopath, part spoilt rotten daddys little Princess who gets everything she wants, never gets in trouble, and can get us in trouble with just one cry or one word, and part sweet, happy , Nice littlesister, you know the kind of babysister every big Brother, most of the time, have? And it's normal for a kid to be a hyper sometimes, but I had a childhood being scared to be me, tummyaches all the time for the stress and work, physical and mental symptoms getting slowly worse with time, and buhu, i had it so bad, millon kids had it a millon times worse, but it still wasn't plesant and 10/10 would not recomend! It's been about 20 years since I had the lightbulb moment what might be going on with me, had no idea how to move forward, thought it cost a lot of money to get it checked out, didn't have any money, now, at the end of my 30's i get it, so not learned how to stopp the long rants, but it get here some day, maybe when I get on the medication, start testing soon, which I look very much forward too. The moment i went from wondering if I had it, to knowing without knowing, if you get it, was one night after way to much alcohol, and a supersurge in inpulsivity, have it all the time, but it usually just make me online shop to much or buy something unhealty stuff to eat , and waaay to much of it, I want chips, candy, chocolate, some cookies or baked goods, and some full fat soda, and eat everything today? Sure go ahead, no worries,
But that night i did that one illegal thing, that if someone with adhd do it, their reaction to it is almost polar oposite of normal people?
It was the best few hours of my life, I hade peace and quiet , and a lot of the unvolentairy movements took a little break for the first time that I could remember,
It was the best thing I ever did, and that scared the shit out of me, and I kept away after,
that peace and quiet could had me addicted if I got to have it one to many times,
could most done a few times before stopping, but it was better to be safe than sorry,
and I have not felt peace since, that is what 18 years ago,
so even if I know the medication wont be the same, anything resembling something less than now will be 1 millon times better..

For context I am 22 F. I guess I came on here for validation or something. Actually I don’t know why I’m here but this is how I feel. My days are boring and LONELY. I have no job. I don’t have a desire to work. I can’t work at the moment anyway (mental health struggles and awaiting other things that I need to get back into work). My family works. I’m home alone all day every weekday. I have Autism and ADHD. My family do not support my diagnosis or needs (sensory, emotional, support needs). I had a partner who I was with for 2 years. They were my person. Before we got together, I had quite a few friends. I was my own person and so were they. During the relationship, I lost pretty much all of my friends due to them moving away, not being good friends or we just slowly drifted. My partner and I just broke up. I broke up with them for many reasons. We have different ways of showing love, they lied to me multiple times and they weren’t meeting my needs in our relationship while I was doing the most. I feel like I really lost myself while being in a relationship. I didn’t hang out with people as much or do the things I used to love doing, but I was happy. Now that it’s over, I don’t know what I’m doing with myself. I have no motivation for anything in life anymore. My ex was my main support, someone to always talk to, do things we both loved together and my best friend. I had met new friends during our relationship but they aren’t “close” friends. I can’t expect them to talk to me every day and support me all the time. I miss having a best friend. I don’t understand how people make new friends or become close friends with them. I’m socially anxious and awkward so I can’t go out and just talk to new random people. I haven’t been eating enough, taking care of myself or doing anything really since we broke up. On top of all of this my chronic pain seems to be worsening and I’m just so so lost and exhausted with life. I don’t want to rush into another relationship and tbh it feels like nobody can love me the way I want to be loved.

I've been experimenting to see why people keep rushing Kraken over Bork, because in the few games I did I felt like bork is CONSIDERABLY better, both for clear, and even champion damage.
Which I do think is the case (i tried in practice tool and the Bork on-hit just hits like a truck now on camps), plus now that kraken doesn't give crit anymore, you don't even have the extra damage for Q and R.
So right now I'm still experimenting but basically i always rush Bork and never build Kraken anymore.
The core build I've been doing is: Bork > LDR > BT > CollectoShieldBow > ShieldBow/CollectoIE?/Yun Tal?
Shieldbow before collector if you need some lifesteal/survivability or just wanna play it safer, because you don't really need the extra lethality honestly.
The new LDR just feels right early, and when you have your third item (going heavy ad) the damage is just so high. I kid you not when I say I've been playing Viego a lot, but this is one of the few times where my damage really surprised me. Highly recommend.
(also recommend to not take kraken but that might be too hot of a take right now)
