2024.05.16 12:44 Ghalexy Covered calls for smaller portfolios

Are there any good quality companies that I could sell covered calls on with around $3,000 ? Plays that I could hold long term and not worry about losing a large chunk of my capital, I’m not into premium chasing but would like 1% a week (I’m new so not entirely sure if that’s wild to ask for ) I’m looking at Bank of America, but curious what y’all think. Thanks. 🙏

2024.05.16 12:42 Extra_Character_3861 [33/m] who really needs sleep anyway?

So, sleep and I played a game of hide and seek last night, and let's just say sleep won... by not showing up. Now, I'm tired but a little determined to keep me going.
If you have any tips on staying lively after a night of ceiling gazing, I'm so down to hear your secrets. Or if you're in the same boat, how about we keep each other company and share some laughs to beat the sleepiness?
Let's turn this no sleepless night into a night of unexpected adventures. Anyone up for a virtual coffee date to fuel the journey?

2024.05.16 12:41 BlackSodium Would you make a move on someone who is in a situationship, but they are the one not willing to commit?

Have a friend and we are fairly close, she is open with me and likes my company. She's been in a situationship for quite a long time now and from what I know, she is the one not willing to commit right now.
I have wanted to make a move for sometime but was willing to wait it out until the situationship situation resolved and she either got together or didn't (and accept whatever happened) but her situationship still persists.
Which got me wondering if I should make my move or do nothing....

2024.05.16 12:41 ZidaneOnTheBall Is it normal not to have a letter of acceptance / contract in this case?

I was told I can begin my internship immediately after graduating in June. and that they will now "send me my acceptance letter."
I asked "how long do I have to confirm this?" since I needed more time. I have applied to PwC and boutique consulting companies and have them as my priority.
They said I had 1 week before the start date. But they didn't send me the letter by email yet. Is it because I told them I'm not sure yet? I don't even know how much I'm going to get paid. Should I ask for it?

2024.05.16 12:40 maxikaz19 What happened to Huobi?

Huobi, once one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges globally, has faced various challenges and developments in recent times. One significant event was the crackdown on cryptocurrency exchanges in China. As Huobi was founded in China, it had to comply with regulatory pressures and adapt its operations accordingly. This led to a period of uncertainty and restructuring for the exchange.
Furthermore, there have been reports of internal issues within the company, including rumors of its founder, Leon Li, being detained by Chinese authorities. While these rumors have not been officially confirmed, they have contributed to the overall atmosphere of uncertainty surrounding Huobi.
In addition to regulatory and internal challenges, Huobi has also faced increased competition from other cryptocurrency exchanges, both within China and globally. Platforms like Binance, Coinbase, and Bitfinex have expanded their reach and services, posing a threat to Huobi's market share.
Despite these challenges, Huobi has continued to operate and adapt its business model. It has expanded its services to include decentralized finance (DeFi) products, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and other emerging trends in the cryptocurrency space.
Overall, Huobi's journey has been marked by ups and downs, reflecting the volatile nature of the cryptocurrency industry. While it has faced regulatory hurdles, internal issues, and increased competition, it remains a significant player in the global cryptocurrency exchange market.

2024.05.16 12:40 MineETH HEDGE FUNDS WILL NEED TO BUY BACK 95.3% OF SHARES FLOAT.

Market cap for FFIE is now $29.87M. Hedge funds shorted 95.3% of the total float, meaning they will need to buy back 95.3% of all the stock float back to close their position.
A short squeeze HAS NOT HAPPENED YET but with increasing buy pressure it will come soon. We can even see FFIE go up 5000%+ to $50+ during the actual squeeze (or way higher, depending on how fast funds close their positions), since buying back a whole market cap while there's not enough stock doesn't just double the price, it compounds it exponentially.
EVERYONE HERE WINS when a short squeeze happens, make sure to hold until that day. Days to cover is still low, which means we are not close to an actual squeeze yet. If price keeps going up, there will be more pressure on funds to close, which leads to an actual squeeze.
THERE WILL NEVER BE A MICRO-CAP COMPANY EVER AGAIN WITH 95.3% SI (the highest out of all companies).
FFIE is literally a once-in-a-lifetime insane opportunity for retail.

  2. De ce nu sunt platiti angajatii corespunzator? Presupunem urmatorul scenariu: Gigel, senior dev, vine pe o anumita leafa. Gigel nu face niciodata probleme, livreaza task-urile in termenii stabiliti in peste 90% din scenarii, cunoaste deja produsul, etc.
  4. Voi ce faceti toata ziua? Ok, am inteles, vorbiti cu clienti, directori si alti manageri. Dar... asta faceti toata ziua? Sedinte? Planificari?
Daca mai aveti voi intrebari lasati-le in comms
Chiar vreau sa aud parerea managerilor...

2024.05.16 12:40 Ladakhi_khaki Deep-Valuing Time, Pressure and Perspective

I've expanded and refined the below from a comment I shared in the daily today.
That comment seemed to strike a chord with many fellow GameStop Owners and I believe this is an important time for the community, old and new.
Morning all.
Anyone here who has built a position over the last few years, Drs'd (tapped that hammer on the cell wall) and shown patience knows that we are in fascinating times. It's been a wild week, and I suspect the weeks ahead will be wilder still.
DFV knows this and clearly knows there are wheels, forces in motion that will play out over the coming weeks - However things play out, whatever 'they' do, and you too - this is an active quest.
The whining and bitching I'm seeing here today in response to the inevitable tidal wave of shorting is in my view utterly pathetic - it misses the point entirely, and shows no appreciation of the dynamics at play, not least the evidently easy weaponisation of your own fear by shorts.
If you feel the need to cry because shorts keep picking up the bullet, or dropping the price, then please go and tell your mom- or whoever will validate your rage. Your bleating does only the work of those working against your investment.
Individuals on this sub and beyond have Direct registered or acquired elsewhere $billions of deep value in this company - watched it turnaround and grow.
None of this, our work or that of Ryan Cohen and the team at GameStop, has been achieved through passive expectation or entitlement. It's all been done actively, intelligently and bravely in spite of the powerful forces against the stock, not bent over to that force, wailing in fear as they chase us alone down the highway, wondering when the Karma Police will show - holding the matches all the while.
I'm fairly old. I'm a father of 4 and I do a heavy, serious job - I don't share that out of hubris, rather because I have perspective: Joyous and painful. DFV clearly has that too - in respect of real life and the market. I know many others do too.
The fate of this stock and company matters, it matters much, for myriad reasons. But it isn't the most important thing in life - or if it is, life hasn't taught you it isn't yet. Some will retort 'my life savings are in this' - and I say money neither is what matters most, unless you have lost sight of meaning, as this world can make us do. A Lamborghini is an empty place for the empty soul - and one need not look far to see the fallacy of financial wealth without foundation in meaning.
So to all of you long-standing, beautiful crew, enjoy the day and weeks ahead. To newcomers ready to buckle up too, welcome.
These are fine times indeed, so let's do all the things that make this sub and community a special, diverse and powerful force. No fighting, yes - but we can do so much that is positive too, for our individual investments in this stock and our lives too.
Let's also retain perspective: Zoom out on the chart, zoom out into your wider life, where the real deep value exists.
With love, passion and pride.

2024.05.16 12:39 Games-and-Make-up Treated poorly by a store with a faulty laptop(mediamarkt)

I have a laptop wich I have a warranty on. Before the insurance expired (I have it 3 years) my laptop suddenly refused to go on (after 2,5 years). I thought hmm. Could be the power. So I bought a new charging cable. Didn’t work.
I sent it to the store for repairs, they changed the motherboard and the next time I got it back, it worked. Paid by insurance. But I started having black screen/bsod issues. I sent it back to the store. I got it back. According to them, there was nothing wrong with the laptop. So I took it back and put my phone as a camera on it as soon as I put it on. I had a few black screens/bsod’s but I ignored them as everything was still updating/windows/driver. After that, after exactly 23 minutes, it kept either giving a black or blue screen everytime I started it up again. I had camera proof now.
So back to the store. 3rd time. The guy told me they had a policy they would refund the buy value if after 3 times it still didnt work, so I had to rest assured. I was not so sure about that. I know how company’s can be.
I got it back and they replaced the SSD. I tested it. I got 2 bsod’s and 1 black screen in one evening again.
So I went back to the store. The first thing the guy was looking for was when the insurance date was over, he told me I didn’t have it anymore(excuse me? I have the paperwork right here? And it’s in the pile of papers I got from when I sent it back and forth). Then he went like, oh well we can take it in, then they will destroy the laptop and you get the money it is worth at that time. He kept saying that its up to the warranty company to repair it. But the shop is making all of these claims at their website when you took a warranty with them. And I took my warranty with them, on their site. And now they try to distantiate themselves with their warranty company. Because they are not connected with them anymore since a year ago. But that should not be my problem.
I was not going to let them taxate my laptop. My insurance is still there. Its worth more than the 175 euros they will probably taxate it for as it has been repaired multiple times with high bills for the insurance. Because as soon as they have the laptop and taxate it themselves, you can’t prove anything. Because then they have the laptop. They even tried dodging paying the 2nd repair of the laptop.
Like why say things you can’t promise? It’s even on their site! I was patient. I waited 3 months total worth of repairs and I’m still in my warranty time. They are really mistreating me in my opinion. My patience is gone now. I will go to take a lawyer in hand because this is outrageous. And I’m angry as hell. I had a really hard time not hitting them in the face while they said that and I’m someone that never fights/gentle person as I don’t like violence. 3 months no laptop and still not repaired or a proper solution.
I have also seen many colleagues there. There was this girl and guy who were like the most genuine and sweetest people ever. The girl was polish and the guy was surinam I think.
The turkish person helping was not a kind person at all. Everytime I go there and one of those turkish people help me, they are really cold and distant, and act like they are better than you. Not racism, just general people knowledge. Probably because I’m gay. He was focused on not giving me a proper solution at all. It had to be in the interest of the shop in any way.
The first time I got my laptop back with damage on the sides (clearly someone dropped the laptop) and there were fat stains on my keys. I cleaned my laptop before giving it to them lol. And they clearly made sure in their policy that small damage during repairs is expected.
I guess this is more a vent than anything. But I’m so furiated. I want to be done with this for once. It almost makes me want to study ICT so I can repair my laptops myself from now on.

2024.05.16 12:39 noboday009 No return or Refund Policy

This is regarding the CMF watch pro. I ordered it the very day it was launched (I know it's stupid). As much as I liked the design and build, my joy of buying new watch started to fade the moment I logged in. Google fit integration missing, (ok small hikkup), then contact names didn't show, connection issues etc etc you know the rest of the problems. Hoping they'll fix it in coming updates I waited and finally in Feb 2024 I wrote for return and refund.
Few standard replies later I decided to wait for couple of more days. While few issues are resolved, many are still there.
Fade up with these I wrote them today, enough is enough, I need to return the product. After same standard replies later, I asked them to state clearly, " If I can return the product and get the refund"
(I know it's 6months since the purchase but still)
I was expecting, reply on the lines of "it's not valid now etc etc"
But CMF support point blank stated, "Return or Refund is not applicable in our company policy and I need to visit the service center to get the watch checked, if issue is not resolved, then they will escalate it to higher authority"
Just an FYI before you buy any of CMF product.
Mind you I have NP (1) and Ear Sticks both a very good product. Watch pro it's just an expensive digital watch.
PS: They are also launching Watch Pro 2 soon.
