So I’m new to using minoxidil 5% topical only. I’m currently using Rogaine. And ngl definitely i started seeing baby hairs on my forehead. But the price scares me every time. I’d like to know if kirkland will likely give me same results. Idc about fast results than rogaine. As long as its giving me steady and good results i will switch to kirkland. Or should I continue with rogaine? Thanks in advance I’m a college student and on going with some financial hardship

2024.05.16 07:38 Old_Winter_2383 Can anyone review my Academic Suspension Appeal?

My name is XXX, and I am a Freshman majoring in a BS for ECET, I’ve been informed of my upcoming academic suspension for the Fall Semester. I take full responsibility for my inadequate grades and my consistent shortcomings. I am writing this to convey that I want to continue pursuing my passion at NJIT, regardless of any obstacles in the future.
Again, I do not want to make any excuses for my poor performance this is entirely my fault, but please allow me to give further context. When I began my journey at NJIT, I was under the belief that I could manage many responsibilities all at once, and I soon realized that it does not work that way. Since the Fall Semester of last year, while attending classes I have also started to work at a part-time warehouse job to support my mother, we’ve been facing some economic hardships prior and I did not want her to be left taking care of rent and utilities all by herself, so I was obligated to contribute. Although this semester has been better in terms of maintaining a schoolwork balance, I am aware that this has not been enough, and I have taken measures to fix this. Alongside this, throughout these past two semesters, I’ve been facing some deep-seated mental problems that I have not been attempting to look for assistance with because of my then-warped belief that I would be considered “weak” for doing so, I didn’t want to ask for help. Therapists in the past have concluded that I have high-functioning Autism but both me and my parents did not want to go further with an official evaluation because of the stigma that might bring such a diagnosis. Although I’ve always had difficulties in communication and social cues, it was made apparent during the fall semester, which caused me to fall into a spiral. I had to withdraw from a class and retake several classes for the spring semester. I want help with this, it’s been difficult for me to come to terms with this condition and the communication issues I’ve dealt with in the past and which I’m still dealing with, but I don’t want it to affect my life negatively any further, I don’t ask for pity or to be treated any differently.
This spring semester has been better, to say the least. I did attend most of the PACE workshops and some tutoring whenever I had the time, although I wasn’t able to register for PACE itself due to me not communicating efficiently with my advisor, which was a mistake on my end. My friends and I formed study groups revolving around Calculus and Physics to improve on our fundamentals, which has worked for me for the latter. Around March, I began to reevaluate the choices I’d made throughout the fall semester. I feel like I was being ungrateful towards my loved ones and that I was letting them down. That revelation was cemented when my first cousin tragically took his own life around that time. Me and him were fairly close, and even after I left Ecuador after a long visit, we still kept in touch. He told me about how he wasn’t content with how his life was going and was rooting for me to pursue my passions even with the aforementioned difficulties, it struck hard. I did grieve, but in my perspective, to uphold his legacy and to go further it was important for me to pursue what I love even with any possible obstacles. I started to study 2 hours a day, which surely did help me in Physics & AutoCAD. Alongside that, I began to take fewer hours of work for me to focus more on classwork and presentations. My manager has been extremely helpful in circumventing many of the obstacles I’ve been dealing with, and for that, I’ve improved massively compared to the Fall semester. My mental state has improved, and although I’m still facing social difficulties, it’s manageable. Although I’ve passed all the classes that I failed last semester, I wasn’t able to pass Calculus II and therefore I wasn’t able to reach Good Standing. It’s saddening, to say the least, I am aware of the consequences and I do intend to make changes should I come back in the Fall.
My plan goes as follows, to ensure academic success I’ve decided to take much fewer hours at work and to save up throughout this summer so my expenses for the fall semester can be fully covered. My intentions for this summer semester were to retake Calculus II and to do Economics, if I do appeal I will continue to go through with it. She’s reassured me that with her new work bonus as a Teacher Assistant, I don’t have to be worried about our situation as much and that my priority at this moment should be to study. I’ll be communicating more often with my Academic Advisor about any possible financial help and ways to boost my GPA. As for me, I have decided to start scheduling appointments with C-CAPS as a way to help me improve my state of mind, and after careful consideration with my mother, we’ll be going to a psychologist by the end of this month for a possible diagnosis to get proper treatment. I do intend to start involving myself more in some capacity when it comes to student life, and I will continue to attend club meetings as much as I can, as I was previously doing so back in the Fall Semester with SHPE. I will be more proactive with my teachers, and I do have full intentions of being more responsible with maintaining a schoolwork balance.
I hope you can take all of this into consideration, this has been an egregious error of mine but I do want to set things right. I am a good student who simply didn’t prioritize everything in my mind, and for that, I sincerely apologize. In my college admissions letter back in Senior Year I made a promise to myself and to the faculty who accepted me that I would do my best to triumph at NJIT, and although I have had a rocky start, I want to dedicate these years in succeeding at the field of engineering. Thank you for considering this appeal, I hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely, XXX

2024.05.16 07:30 lostinmarinarasauce7 Advice on Re-admittance to Clemson

Hi everyone!
TLDR: I am looking for advice to pursue (hopeful) re-admittance to the university, after completely bombing my last semester of enrollment, and subsequently taking a year off due to lost scholarships.
For some background, I enrolled as an undergrad in Clemson in 2019, and have struggled intensely since then to complete my bachelor's due to various mental and financial reasons. My last year of enrollment was the 2022-23 year, but during my Spring 2023 semester, I ended up having a complete mental break. I stopped attending all of my classes, ghosted all of my professors and advisors, and stayed completely paralyzed at home for the remainder of the semester. My transcript was already unsatisfactory (given I had previously failed classes for similar reasons), but after this, the guilt and shame of having jeopardized my academic future prevented me from communicating with the university about my options. Basically, I altogether ghosted the university.
I, of course, did not meet requirements to retain my (very needed) scholarships for the following year. I decided to take this last year off to save money towards loans and to heal my mental health- always with the intention of returning to classes when I could.
I'm doing so much better now, and would like to finally review my options and take some steps towards finishing my degree. I should have around 30+ credits left- But, is there any hope of completing this at Clemson, or did I burn my bridges? I honestly just want more than anything to walk across the Clemson stage and make myself and my parents proud. I would love to hear some advice as to what actions I should take next to go about this, who I should contact for success moving forward, or possible moves if re-admittance sounds unlikely. Note that I am unable to access my iRoar anymore. I'd also love to hear if anyone has gone through anything similar!
[This topic is sensitive for me and has taken a lot of will to begin addressing again, so I ask you please be kind with any responses. I assure you that I am a bright and super capable student, just unfortunately burdened with mental and financial setbacks. Thank you for reading!]

2024.05.16 07:28 0KawiKami Family burnout should i leave or stay

First off Family discord is common, but it my mother has inadvertently encouraged my youngest sibling to call the police too frequently. Apologies for the paragraphs; they are intended to provide different perspectives.
The oldest He has been jailed several times for minor incidents, a habit reinforced by my mother's approach. He's not without fault, but it's important they realize the consequences of their actions. After being evicted, I supported him in living independently, hoping distance might facilitate healing. He had a temporary protective order (TPO) against him for an incident I wasn't present for, which my mother expedited to remove him from the house. He moved to Virginia and faced hardships but managed. Later, he requested to return home for two months to stabilize himself. the youngest child has issues with all his siblings
The oldest child reason for anger:
Upon his return, while showering in my bathroom, the youngest called the police. We were in the process of lifting the TPO, but he arrived sooner than planned. The police removed him from the shower, leaving him distraught, having just overcome homelessness. Realizing his mistake, he attempted to have the police return him, not understanding the legal system, resulting in financial strain from legal expenses.
The youngest child history: The youngest also bought a project car for $4,000. I implored my mother to step in during the transaction as he was stubborn and in need of parental guidance. She refused, asserting that he had made his choice, fully aware it was a fixer-upper. I warned that now was not the best time; we might lose the house. "If you can't fix that car within two weeks, you're in trouble; if you can, you're still in trouble and homeless," I said. I'm not a mechanic, but I repair my own car and know that fixing one issue often leads to discovering another. Despite my warnings, he proceeded with the purchase. As we faced losing the house due to his errors, he had $4,000, which would have been fine if the car worked. When my car broke down, he offered to help me instead of paying the internet bill. My best friend assisted me, so I told him to help mom with the bills; I was managing on my own. Later, I discovered he never assisted her, allowing the bill to accumulate to $1,000. He traded the project car for a Honda that badly needed an alignment and possibly a CV axle. He disregarded my cautions; I was blunt about the risks. He had never driven before, and his initial attempts were poor. I starkly told him he could die if he drove in that condition. Yet, he ignored the warning again. One morning, I awoke to police at the door; he had somehow hit two parked cars, front and back, and attempted to flee. Exhausted from trying to guide him, I told the officers they could take him. In summary, within a year, we lost the house due to his series of blunders, and we bailed the oldest child out of jail.
Presently, there was an altercation, and the oldest threatened to harm him. Mostly responding to my mother trying to make them get alone and forget his past. My sister and mother seem unable to grasp the full extent of his frustration. The youngest child basically ruined lives and did nothing to repair it he doesn't help with probation he doesn't help with lawyer fee's & I think I tried my best. So of course he says he will never be cool with him.
My best friend has offered me a place to live to escape the turmoil. I want to stay because I love my family and wish to help, but my sacrifices have cost me dearly, leaving my credit in ruins. Working so hard for years to end up in this situation living in a hotel has burnt me out my motivation is currently shot

2024.05.16 06:51 Hungry_cookie101 Canada vs USA for biomedical science major

Hi there. I'm currently studying for my OSSD via online. I'm 18 and am planning to go to uni/college this fall term. Right now, I've applied to the following unis/ colleges:
Canada 1. York University (accepted with $9500 CAD scholarship for 1st year) 2. Carleton University (accepted with $4000 CAD scholarship, renewable for 4 years) 3. Lakehead University (decision deferred)
USA 1. University of California, Sacramento 2. Sacramento City College 3. De Anza College (accepted)
My biggest concern has always been the tuition since my budget is around $20000 - $25000 USD, hence why I applied for colleges in Cali. But, the problem is that recently, US visa approvals from third countries have been slim to none for candidates from my country. On top of that, I'm not in a position where I can make an appointment from my home country, so I'm worried that I may not get my F1 visa in time for this fall. That led me to reconsider Canadian universities since I've heard that universities offer more research opportunities. I'm also interested in trying to get a PR and immigrate since biomed research isn't really a good job option in my country (forget research, we're struggling for basic health facilities). The visa process is much easier and my mom's friend offered to help me as much as she could if I decided to go there (finding scholarships, lower rent, etc.). I also do like the fact that I can get 3 years of PGWP but I'm unsure if it's still a viable option due to recent policy changes. On the one hand, going to a US college, and then transferring to a university seems like a more financially smart decision. I won't have to be worried about being stranded in a foreign country. I also heard that community colleges have a more personal learning experience than unis and counselors have more time for each student. A con is that it's difficult to get a part-time job in the US whereas Canada offers co-op programs. Which country is better in terms of tuition fees, work experience, research opportunities, post-graduate job prospects, and potential citizenship there? I'm leaning towards Carleton University and De Anza College right now, so do you guys have any info on whether they're good? Thank you in advance for your answers and I appreciate every one of them.

2024.05.16 06:13 maguirre007 [WTS] Pilot Custom 823, Sailor PG black and silver trim, Pilot VP/Vanishing Point black and gold, Sailor PG/Pro Gear black and rhodium trim

Hi all, making another post for some additional pens I need to sell to pay off bills.
There's some more pens still available in my past post here: https://www.reddit.com/Pen_Swap/comments/1csxfbh/wts_leonardo_momento_zero_andromeda_rhodium/
I'm located in Australia so all prices are set in AUD. Worldwide shipping $25 AUD (unless it actually costs me less to ship to your country).
Verification and album
I'll be including some ink samples with every sale!
Here are the pens:
Pilot Custom 823 (B nib) in Amber [B] $280 AUD Just like everyone says, this pen writes like a dream. It's truly one of my favourite pens. The only reason I'm deciding to sell it is because most of the pens I have left in my collection are customs and I have the hope that once I'm in a more financially stable position I'll be able to buy this one again.
Pilot Vanishing Point (F nib) in black and gold [B] $180 AUD I am not a fan of this pen at all unfortunately. It writes too fine for me and I'm not a fan of the clicking mechanism.
Sailor Pro Gear (B 21k rhodium plated nib) in black with rhodium trim [B] $250 AUD This is a really nice pen and it writes beautifully well, just like you'd expect a Sailor to write. It has the more detailed old nib style with '1911' written on it.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if you'd like me to take more pictures or videos, I'd be more than happy to provide them :)
Thank you!
Edit: the Pilot 823 is a B nib not M - i’ve double checked the others and they’re correct

2024.05.16 06:02 Sizzle_Wizzle Investing in Rose vs Illinois Tech

Hello! I made a post some time ago asking for guidance about Rose when it comes to finances. TLDR is that my estimated direct costs are around 40k a year and I expect to have around 100k in loans if I choose to go there. My offer from IIT recently came out and as a commuter I’d have to pay around 14k, likely having 0 loans. My heart wants to go to Rose but my gut tells me IIT is probably more worth it. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated!
Other info that might be important or a factor: -Computer engineering major -Someone I know studied my major at IIT so I might be able to get all my books at a lower cost/free -I submitted a financial aid appeal and only got a laptop scholarship

2024.05.16 05:51 goldilocks797 Advice for a 26 y.o. Postgrad law student amidst an existential crisis

Hey all!
Seeking advice!
There is a malaise / sadness about studying law at the moment when I hold a dream to study med. I find peeping at science/med student powerpoints / lectures that sit next to me whilst studying in the library.
Why law? Conceptual ideas about some areas that may interest me with the ultimate goal to use law as a vehicle for change / help others —> intelligence, international relations/arbitration + negotiation/politics orrrr Coroner’s Court.
Considerations

2024.05.16 05:43 Abject_Theme_6813 Has anyone gotten a cavity fixed at Columbia/NYU dental school student clinic?

Im currently a VERY VERY POOR graduate student. I heard that dental schools provide cheap services to those in financial hardships. I do not have dental insurance. Im wondering if anyone has any experience with going to NYU or Columbia's dental school clinic for help?
If so, how much do they charge? Do they take walk-ins?

2024.05.16 05:08 NaturalTree3 Third Party Not At Fault Insurance Claim

Hey all,
I'm with NRMA and have third party car insurance. Someone reversed in to me at a cul de sac in March, and after drama determining who is at fault the other driver has been made liable. They are also with NRMA and have apparently accepted liability, but are claiming financial hardship and cannot pay their excess.
From what I understand, they're in contact with a special department in NRMA to set up a payment plan. The problem is I cannot proceed with my claim under their insurance to get my car fixed until they pay their excess. The NRMA are stonewalling me, I've sent complaints with the same answer of 'we cannot proceed with the claim until the other party have met their policy obligations' e.g. paid their excess.
I am struggling to get to work and do basic things without a car. It's been months and my car hasn't even been looked at for a quote on repairs. Wondering what recourse I have to escalate this?
Thanks

2024.05.16 04:42 Comfortable-Hand-680 One move helped me to fulfill my dream of MIT, and I will do my best to apply to MIT 25FALL!

I am a domestic high school graduate who has already taken the college entrance examination (Gaokao-China), majoring in the sciences, with a keen interest in computer science and mathematics. I'm the first generation of university students in my family, and we are not financially affluent. I don't have a green card, and I'm also Deaf and a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
During my time in high school, I maintained an average score of 95. In language proficiency exams, I scored 71 on the TOEFL, with sub-scores of 28 in reading, 22 in writing, 15 in listening, and 6 in speaking (I couldn't exempt from the speaking and listening exams, but I will explain this situation during the application process). I plan to take the SAT exam in June and a special TOEFL exam in August.
Regarding my major in computer science and mathematics, I'm considering switching to a different field such as linguistics, education, or psychology.
Honors:
Excellent Award in the National Writing Competition (30 out of 5000 participants)
Third Prize in the Jiangsu Province Disability Programming Competition (3 out of 800 participants)
Second Prize in the City High School Mathematics Competition (2 out of 480 participants)
School Scholarship Recipient (1 out of 50)
Third Prize in the 10th City "Chinese Dream" High School Talent Competition (3 out of 1900 participants)
List of Activities:
Developer of a sign language translation app (with over 1 million users)
Project leader (designing assistive technologies for the blind and Deaf using Python and C++)
Organizer of Pride Parade (established the DEAF Rainbow Club)
Founder of a studio
Theater director (collaborating with United Deaf & Hearing Artists to promote inclusive narratives in multilingual collaborative theaters)
Assistant at a family farm
Family caregiver
Chief designer
Math tutor
Deaf sign language dance troupe
ESSAY My object is an old-fashioned computer, and this objects is a table, then this table is my desk (app development) and the table where I cook for my family (family responsibilities + low-income).
The purpose of the first paragraph is to set up a scene, the old computer and the cooking bring out that I have family responsibility, and life is not easy.
In the second paragraph, recall how I got along with the old-fashioned computer - for example when I was a child and could still hear, you used the computer to play games; gradually grew up, I began to dislike the computer is too slow, too old, not advanced enough hearing assistance
The third paragraph, the twist - write how I learned programming and English on my own through this old computer and used this old computer to create new opportunities for myself
Fourth paragraph, fifth paragraph - describes two qualities
To wrap up the text, this is a metaphor for how I will always be mindful of where I am from, and always be aware of the deaf, LGBTQ, and low-income communities
I don't know much about deafness, I seem to have some differences in my hearing, and I often misinterpret people's words. I felt the impact of deafness as if the world had lost its colour in silence. In conversation, I grew to rely on spoken words, and the lack of hearing made understanding more and more difficult. My friends' conversations drifted away as if they lived in a world beyond my reach.
But I will never forget the old computer I grew up with (meaning I will never forget where I came from and will always think for people like myself)
  1. socially, my world is quiet - I want to understand the world in silent mode
    1. in my family life, my world is full of burdens -- I have to take care of my parents while fulfilling my life goals.
  2. academically, my world is lacking in resources -- as a deaf person, I can't go to university to study my favorite computer subject like a normal person.
Can provide some general direction on the advice, although you guys pointed out to provide feedback, I essay also have no idea (my thinking counts as a particularly simple question) specifically which question needs to be changed, I conceive of the outline of ideas.
Do you have any advice on my general situation in terms of school districts and strategies for choosing schools. If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact me privately. Thank you.

2024.05.16 04:42 NukeTheCommies Hold the Line Defy the Elites Secure Your Future!

A Modern Rallying Cry

Friends, we stand at a pivotal moment in history.
For too long, the forces of greed and oppression have kept us down, draining our livelihoods and crushing our spirits.
Today, we have a unique opportunity to rise up and strike back against those who think they can control our destiny!

The Time for Action is Now

The powerful have tried to dominate the markets, believing they could manipulate and oppress without consequence.
But they've underestimated our strength and resolve. Today, we face a stock that is shaking the very foundations of Wall Street.

DD

1. Unprecedented Trading Volume:
2. 1700% Gain in Two Days:
3. Sky-High Short Interest
4. Potential for a REAL Short Squeeze:
5. Media Attention:
Imagine a world where the common man can rise up and claim his share of prosperity. Picture a future where your investment is not just a financial transaction, but a stand against the fortress of Wall Street.
Now is your moment to join this revolution.
The stock is soaring, and the potential for gains is monumental. Don't stand on the sidelines while others take action. Every dollar you invest is a vote against the oppressive powers that seek to control us. Join us and be part of history in the making!

To Those Who Are Thinking of Selling:

Hold the line. The only things that stand in our way are: every hedge fund in the world, every institutional bank, the CIA, our government, and the entire media matrix except Barstool Sports, oh and most of the tech world.
Nobody wants you to win.
As soon as the average man starts playing the game, they lock you out of the game.
Are you going to settle for bill-paying money? Selling now means giving in to the very forces we are fighting against. You've seen the gains; imagine the potential if we all hold together. This is life-changing money. This is not the time to waver—it's the time to stand strong.
Want to cash out small profits to pay for your car payment this month? What if you could pay off YOUR ENTIRE CAR LOAN?! THEN HOLD!
Want to cash out small profits to pay for your mortgage month? Wouldn’t you rather pay off YOUR ENTIRE MORTGAGE?! THEN HOLD!
We all bought in for different amount’s. We all have different stories that got us here. But we are all in this TOGETHER!

To Those Who Are Holding:

Your resolve is our strength. Your commitment is our power. Hold the line and continue to stand firm. The potential for life-changing gains is within our grasp, but only if we maintain our unity and resolve. We don't want bill-paying money; we want life-changing money. Together, we can achieve it.

The Cost of Inaction

Friends, consider the alternative. Imagine standing idly by while others seize this moment, while others take the stand that could have been yours. The regret of missed opportunity, the sting of inaction, will linger far longer than any financial risk. This is not just about money; it is about justice, about reclaiming what is rightfully ours.
You could be sitting on a beach motorboating Latina titties all day.
Don't miss out

Seize the Day

The time is now, the opportunity is before us. Let us rise together, united in purpose and resolve, to reclaim our power and secure our future. Invest in this stock, not just for the potential gains, but for the chance to be part of something greater, something historic.
Rise up, invest, and join the revolution. The future is ours to shape!

2024.05.16 03:59 marrowsucker Asking for more merit aid as a current student?

I’m currently enrolled and going into my junior year at a private university. When I was accepted, I was offered a merit scholarship that covers half of tuition, and I didn’t try to negotiate for more money because for some reason I thought it wouldn’t work. (I think I read it somewhere that they wouldn’t negotiate or something, I have no idea.) Anyway, I know some of my friends negotiated and did successfully get more money.
I was the valedictorian of my high school, and have also maintained a perfect GPA in the honors program at this university with a computer science major and writing minor, and am involved in student life and leadership here. I want to ask for more merit aid because my family’s financial situation is changing this coming year (but not in a way that will qualify for need-based aid).
How do I ask? I know I could put in applications at other universities just to use as leverage, but I don’t know if that would be dishonest because I don’t plan to transfer regardless. But I know there is a higher merit aid tier that covers 3/4 of tuition, and I want to make a case that I should get that aid because of my top performance so far.
Is it too late to try to get more merit aid? Would I need to show competing offers to have any real cards in my hand? Thanks for any help.
