Katherine walked down the hallway of the seventh floor in the building housing Sacramento’s FBI branch, following the directions she’d been given by the secretary downstairs. Finding the office she was looking for, she knocked on the door, though it was propped open, and walked over to the man sitting at the desk.
“Hi, Katherine Colebrook,” she introduced herself, holding out her hand. “Nice to meet you.”
“SAC Ted Hemmingway,” the FBI agent replied, standing up and shaking her hand firmly. He looked more like an FBI agent than most agents Katherine knew, which was saying something. He had a tall, solid frame, but thinning blonde hair covered his head, on its way to being a comb-over, hinting at his actual age. “How was your flight?”
“Uneventful. The perfect kind,” she replied.
“Good. So, I know you come highly recommended as someone who gets cases moving, but to be frank, I’ve never worked with a psychic. Don’t have much faith in them. I prefer old-fashioned detective work.”
“I get paid either way,” Katherine responded without skipping a beat.
Katherine had dealt with many like him before. It annoyed her, but she didn’t spend too much time dwelling on it. She assumed it had something to do with the fact that they’d been able to explain lycanthropy and vampirism and fae with recent scientific studies, but psychics were still being researched and therefore still a debated topic. Plus, they weren’t very plentiful in law enforcement, so it was rare to have the opportunity to work with one.
Hemmingway blinked at her curt response once as she took a seat before he nodded. “All right. Well this is the case file,” he said, handing a file folder over to her and sitting down behind his desk. “It was recommended by a colleague of mine that we call you in when the tally hit three victims. But as of last night, it’s four. And the two trackers that went after it were killed. It was one murder per night, so we’re thinking a newly turned wolf. The bodies are found mutilated, and the clothes were torn off.” Katherine looked over the paperwork as the agent continued to speak. “Any suspects we had were tested with silver and all have been cleared. This isn’t just a series of attacks, though; this is a serial killer.”
“You’re thinking a personal vendetta against these men, from the humiliating display of the bodies?” Katherine asked, glancing up to the agent briefly.
“Yeah. There doesn’t seem to be a connection between the victims though, so the theory is the killer’s targeting men that fit a profile.”
“What profile would that be?” Katherine asked, flipping through the file.
“White, middle-aged, wealthy.”
Katherine cocked an eyebrow at him. “Wealthy?” she echoed.
“It’s all in the bios,” he replied. “One was a lawyer, one was an accountant, two were well-off businessmen.”
Katherine nodded slowly. “All right. Who’s the lead on the case?”
Hemmingway brought his eyebrows together. “That’d be me.”
“So where’s the rest of the information?” Katherine asked.
“The rest?”
“Research. I’m sure you’ve had agents pouring over the victims’ lives to find a link between them,” she said.
Hemmingway pursed his lips for a moment before he nodded. “I’ve got a few guys still digging. They’re working out of an office two floors up.”
“I’d like to see what they’ve come up with so far,” Katherine told him.
The FBI agent sighed, standing up. “I thought you were supposed to be psychic,” he muttered, half to himself walking around his desk.
“Being psychic tells me things about the people I’m around,” she responded, slightly miffed at the comment. She followed him out of the room, the folder tucked under her arm. “Tells me you’ve been cheating on your wife for the past year.” Hemmingway stumbled to a stop, darting his eyes back toward Katherine as she continued speaking as if he hadn’t locked a heavy glare on her. “Not much about this killer. At least not yet. I’m psychic; I’m not god. And I have no interest in your marital extracurriculars. Can you please take me to your agents?”
Hemmingway hesitated, probably considering a threat of reporting her for invasion of privacy, before brushing it off and continuing down the hall to the elevators. The doors opened immediately and he selected the fifth floor.
Once they arrived, he knocked on the door before opening it, drawing the gazes of several agents spread around the room. “This is Ms. Colebrook. She’s here to consult on the case,” Hemmingway spoke, shutting the door and walking over to one of the men sitting at the table covered in boxes of files and papers. “This is Agent Lester Marconi,” he told Katherine, prompting a small wave from the agent. “He’s in charge of the research we’ve been putting together on the victims. That’s Agent Kirk Vaughn,” he continued, pointing, “and that’s Agent Stacy Genovese.”
“I was hoping to get a better look at some of the crime scene photos,” Katherine spoke, looking over the papers on the table. She walked over to a corkboard on the wall where she saw photos of the victims with their information underneath, as well as a smattering of newspaper articles.
“Those are right here,” Marconi spoke up, picking up four folders and handing them over to Katherine.
The tracker opened the first folder on an empty area of a table, spreading out the grisly photographs, looking over them with a cool detachment. She pursed her lips, staring at one of them, before opening the second folder and leafing through it. She pulled up a chair and sat down, shaking her head slowly. “This isn’t a wolf,” she said quietly.
“What?” Marconi asked, his expression becoming wary but curious.
“Just look at this,” Katherine told him, pointing at a close-up photograph of one of the wounds. “It’s all shreds, sure, but…. This isn’t a werewolf.”
“How can you tell?” Hemmingway asked.
“Experience,” she answered. “It’s understandable your other trackers mistook it for a wolf attack, but I’ve seen plenty of werewolf attacks and I’ve seen plenty of vampire attacks, and this is a vampire. I’m sure you’ve got experts to show these photos to. They’ll confirm it.”
“Why the hell would a vampire do something like this?” Marconi asked. He walked over and took a seat next to Katherine, examining the photos. “There was an immense amount of blood at the scene. No indication that any was missing.”
“Because the characteristic of primary importance here is serial killer, not vampire,” Katherine told him. “The vampire was just the weapon. The serial killer was who murdered them. And presumably that’s what the killer was counting on. It seemed obvious that the killer was a werewolf from the damage, so you didn’t consider a vampire angle.”
“So our serial killer happened to be a vampire, is what you’re saying,” Hemmingway said skeptically.
Katherine hesitated thoughtfully. “Considering the anger and recklessness involved here, there’s a good chance that this vampire’s sire matches the profile of your victims.”
“They were turned against their will, and now they’re going after humans that remind them of the one that turned them,” Marconi stated.
“It’s a good theory.” Katherine stood up. “I’ll be happy to investigate this further, but I think you’d be better off with trackers that are local, that know the area. Now that they know they’re going after a vampire, they’ll be prepared, and they should be fine.”
“That sounds good. Sorry to drag you all the way out here for no reason,” Hemmingway said, making his way toward the door. “I could’ve just emailed you the photos, I suppose.”
“I get paid either way,” Katherine said with a shrug, walking out of the room behind him, glancing at her watch.
Marconi headed out into the hallway after her. “Hey.” Katherine turned around. “Could I get your card? I’d like to have a way to get in touch with you if I ever run into a case where I need help with wound identification again.”
“Sure,” she replied, taking out the small metal case from her pocket that housed her business cards, handing one over to him. “Call for a consult on any case, day or night.”
“I will, thanks so much. If I can ask, how is it that you’re so much more experienced with tracking?” Marconi asked. “I mean, you look pretty young, and most trackers go for their certification after five years of apprenticing, and three is the minimum. How long have you been doing this?”
Katherine gave him a morose smile. “Too long,” she muttered. At that, she turned and walked away, leaving Marconi to stare after her, taking out her cell phone to call her daughter and let her know the job had ended early.

2024.05.16 23:18 abductodude Could use some help: PC running slow suddenly, Windows disappearing from boot menu.
Some background information: ever since September or October of last year, my PC will experience blue screens with varying error codes, and need fresh Windows 11 installs. I have reinstalled it 6-7 times, maybe more, since then. Well, the last time I thought was successful, because it hasn't done it in a few months. But last night I got an error code that seemed to completely wipe Windows from my boot options. Stop code: KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR, and nvidmkm.sys is what failed.
I tried a couple of times to restart but, alas, no progress, so I went to be bed. Today I turned it on and Windows was there right off the bat! Great. I get in and everything is going incredibly slow, so I restart. And guess what - it's gone again. Restart twice, play with BIOS, it appears again. About to run a deep antivirus scan, computer needs to restart, it disappears again. I am at a complete loss now. I can get by when it comes to the technical aspects of PC's, seeing how I built my own, but troubleshooting is often beyond me. Thoughts?

Hi, high school fashion teacher here. I love what I teach (I sew regularly for myself) and with how bad the apathy is in most students these days it’s great to see students take an interest in fashion and sewing. I have a study hall in my room as my duty so I will use that period for students who also have a study hall that period to come make up work or work on a project for the competitive team I advise.
I had two or three students really into sewing, which turned into 5 which turned into 10 who would come work on projects outside of class assigned work. That has now spiraled into a few of those students trying to come to my room any time they have a sub or “aren’t doing anything” in class. As much as I want to encourage them doing something other than stare at the phone, it’s getting to be way too much and I’m mad at myself for not nipping it in the bud. I currently tell students who come in another period other than their own they are limited to one additional period per day.
I’ve got two students specifically who are nice young ladies, very active in my club so I have traveled with them but if they could stay in my room all day they would. And I’m glad they have a place they feel is safe for them. But they both had AP testing this week and dear god, I didn’t realize how much extra energy they took. I do keep my prep/lunch period off limits, but with basically teaching students through my duty too I’m teaching 7 out of 8 periods a day.
On top of this, I was in a car accident in November and I am still in a lot of pain. If I had an option to only be working 3 days a week that’s absolutely what I should be doing right now but o of course killed all my sick time being out for 3 months post accident. But having the extra kids is putting wear on my body that I can’t really handle right now.
I’m trying to figure out a way to tell the students that I can’t keep having extra students in my room without hurting feelings. I know the answer is just tell them they can’t come but I think it’s hard for a 16 y/o to grasp the concept that just answering an extra 50 questions a day, and adding more bending to demonstrate is hard for me right now. I’ll be packing away sewing equipment in 3 weeks so I feel like I can just run out the clock but what would you say for next year…should I just say no to students coming in other periods as an across the board rule?
If you have students like this how do you manage expectations? Give them a time limit per week? Or just say no from the get go? I appreciate any advice from those who have been in similar situations!

2024.05.16 23:17 UKNZ87 Has New Zealand Rugby turned a corner?
This might seem an odd title for some non-kiwis, World Cup finalists, last years 7s champs and current female champs but Union has had a rough time here in the last 4-5 years. For me I think it hit the absolute worst point in 2022. Super Rugby until this year had been at its absolute worst, losing to Ireland, not many fans wanting Foster and not that many wanting Cane as captain. The problems were deeper though than just some bad loses. We saw a loss of interest in Rugby from fans and young kids. Grassroots numbers down, clubs losing player numbers etc etc. the other big story was the surge in support for Rugby League over here with the NZ Warriors having a good season last year. Media etc were hammering Union saying it was “dead”. In the last 12 months though some things have started to turn around. Firstly the World Cup wasn’t as bad as a lot had feared. After the France loss a lot of people here thought they would go out in the quarters. There was even some tongue in cheek talk about a group exit! Super Rugby has had its best year in a long time being much more competitive and a resurgence in Aussie sides. The past week we saw the highest crowd at a Highlanders game for 7 years and a very good crowd at Eden park for the Blues game. 18k for Highlanders might not sound that much, but if all 18k came from Dunedin it would be 14% of the whole town which puts it in perspective! There’s excitement here about Razor coming in and Cane has done the right thing to give up the captaincy which avoids the awkwardness of what happens with that. Also the NRL side the Warriors have reverted to type and slid back down the table giving a bit of an opening for the Blues in the city of Auckland. It’s just grass shoots of recovery but things feel a bit more positive here in the last 6 months or so. Thoughts?

Came to rant slightly, but also to celebrate the closing of a chapter.
I made the mistake of signing on to a 1 year lease with someone I had only one, 10 minute FaceTime call with who is 3 years younger than me and had never lived on her own before.
In this FaceTime call she not only blatantly lied to me, she also failed to disclose several serious details.
She didn’t once take initiative in the apartment, I’ve had to explain VERY basic cleaning and maintenance things to her which she received as ludicrous and condescending.
She’s called me bossy and stubborn meanwhile begging me to direct her to basic household duties.
The first few months when I tried to befriend her she shot down every single one of my invitations, attempts to connect or hang out and then later accused ME of lying upon move in when I said I was also hoping to be friends with my roommate. She went months without asking me a single personal question as she used me as her own sounding board to spill her fears/ complaints and paranoia to since the only people she actively speaks to are me and her boyfriend. Then she accused me of being judgemental and critical when I offered her constructive advice on very basic complaints she’d come to me every single day with. She later explained that she wasn’t ever looking for advice but for someone to say boo hoo poor you.
She is a prisoner of her own mind and exploited me as 1/2 of her only inmate visitors.
I’ve sat down for hours, on several occasions trying to help her find / access a therapist some sort of help despite how she treats me and she’s come up with every single excuse in the book as to why she will not pursue therapy (she is studying to become a therapist, yet doesn’t believe it is going to help her situation). I’ve tried to offer her help, guidance and friendship but have been rejected at every turn.

None of these things are inherently problematic but if you live with someone else should be disclosed upon move in. She lied so hard, both explicitly and by omission of these critical lifestyle details. I have never cared about how others choose to live their life but when it conflicts with mine in a shared environment, that is when it becomes a problem for me.
I’m so damn excited to live with someone who is friendly, communicative and occasionally leaves their room to engage with the outside world! Including me!

I made the mistake of signing on to a 1 year lease with someone I had only one, 10 minute FaceTime call with who is 3 years younger than me and had never lived on her own before.
In this FaceTime call she not only blatantly lied to me, she also failed to disclose several serious details.
- She told me she had a car. Upon her moving in I not only discovered that she didn’t have a car, this girl didn’t even have a license, nor any sort of desire to obtain one.
- She failed to disclose until the lease was signed and we were moved in that she has (self diagnosed) agoraphobia. If you don’t know what that is, it’s basically a crippling fear of everything beyond the front door, where a person is terrified and intensely avoids public places and most people so much they avoid going out all together.
- Neither of those things would’ve mattered to me but she also lied to me about being consistent in working and going to school. She premised us moving in together by telling me she had active hobbies, spent the majority of her time outside of the house working and going to classes. Leading me to believe I was moving in with someone who had a similar lifestyle to me. = alls to say she is a shut in. She’s been employed maybe 5 months of the time we’ve lived together and besides work leaves the house for nothing. Has stopped going to her classes even literally never leaves the house.
She didn’t once take initiative in the apartment, I’ve had to explain VERY basic cleaning and maintenance things to her which she received as ludicrous and condescending.
She’s called me bossy and stubborn meanwhile begging me to direct her to basic household duties.
The first few months when I tried to befriend her she shot down every single one of my invitations, attempts to connect or hang out and then later accused ME of lying upon move in when I said I was also hoping to be friends with my roommate. She went months without asking me a single personal question as she used me as her own sounding board to spill her fears/ complaints and paranoia to since the only people she actively speaks to are me and her boyfriend. Then she accused me of being judgemental and critical when I offered her constructive advice on very basic complaints she’d come to me every single day with. She later explained that she wasn’t ever looking for advice but for someone to say boo hoo poor you.
She is a prisoner of her own mind and exploited me as 1/2 of her only inmate visitors.
I’ve sat down for hours, on several occasions trying to help her find / access a therapist some sort of help despite how she treats me and she’s come up with every single excuse in the book as to why she will not pursue therapy (she is studying to become a therapist, yet doesn’t believe it is going to help her situation). I’ve tried to offer her help, guidance and friendship but have been rejected at every turn.

First of all, I am fairly new to crypto. What was the point of everything twilight sparkle and her friends did If it was all gunna just be tucked under the rug, Iv read that only a few hundred years past not thousands so where's princess twilight and surely princess celestia and Luna and cadance and flurry heart aren't all dead, btw iv also seen the comics with the new g5 ponies with discord and fluttershys cottage being all grown out, what happend to ponyville. The last time we see the ponies against one another is when chrisalis turns pony against pony, but in the end they all come together and help save twilight and her friends, which I never liked that scene, I never thought twilight and her friends would just let themselves die, which were the writers fault but the ponys still come together and then comes the last episode where twilights student don't think friendships important until she dose and then bam it all ended but then g5 and now no magic, divided races with the ponies and ugly bulgy art style (my opinion) So what's going on and how did everything decline and I'm mad about this beacuse we spent 10 plus years with this show watching twilight sparkle and her friends basically make world peace, befriending all creatures and having new Era of friendship and peace. Then we get these new ponies who don't even have that unique vibe and aesthetic as the g4 main 6 had and nothing can nor ever will replace that.

The Lioness led the warrior down several flights of stairs, then outside into a covered area for smithing and sharpening of blades. The Lioness hefted the great sword from her scabbard, began to crank the handle and turn grindstone, and gently slid the blade against the stone with a flurry of sparks. “It is a simple but necessary step. Sharpen your weapon after every battle.” She said pointedly, concise and simple. When she was finished, she stopped cranking the grindstone, and sheathed her sword back into its scabbard. As she stepped aside, the warrior did not need to be told what they were to do next. They unsheathed their battered sword, started cranking the wheel before sliding the blade of their sword against the spinning grindstone, sparks flying as metal met stone. Once they thought their sword was sufficiently sharpened, they stopped turning the grindstone and inspected their blade. It was damaged and beaten, but it was still a reliable weapon. The warrior sheathed their sword, looking up only to find the Lioness had already disappeared, as silent as the monsters they had faced not but a few days ago. Unphased, the warrior sent about finding lodgings inside the fortress monastery.
The warrior woke up early the next morning to the howling of the monsters of the forest. Hearing no screams, they relaxed, donning their armor over the simple traveler's garb they had worn to sleep. They couldn't shake the fear of being unprepared for the next attack, unready for a surprise. When they finished donning their armor, they grabbed their scabbard and went to train. They had seen a training room on their way into the keep, and so they made their way in that direction. They wanted to prepare themselves for the next battle, whether that be against the mothers of the forest, or against the great female warrior that had fought.
As they arrived at the training room, they found no other knights training. Surprised, but not shaken, they sat their gear down on a wooden bench in the corner and began to train. They decided to first work on speed, as that was their main failing against the great female warrior. Finding a straw and cloth target along the far wall, they wrapped leather around their fists and began to warm up with a little bit of boxing. Jab, jab, backstep, right hook, elbow, sidestep, gut shot, uppercut. They repeated this practice set, only stopping when they heard the sound of another person tying leather around their hands. The warrior turned around, hands up ready for an attack, but only saw the great female warrior they had fought earlier standing in the training room, wrapping leather around their hands. The warrior lowered their hands, and retrieved their sword, sufficiently warmed up. They then moved to a wooden dummy target, one that looked beat up, but still intact enough to train on.
They then began to practice their sword swing and stance, striking the dummy target in a series of rhythmic strikes. As the Lioness trained, they snuck glances at the warrior training, scrutinizing and judging their stance, their swing, and their sword skill. It needed much work; it was a miracle they survived. Yet, they had, and they even held their own somewhat against her sword. She would watch this young warrior cautiously.
The warrior continued training until they were too tired to continue. They gathered their belongings and went to the great hall to eat and recover before the next outing into the forest. As they walked, their mind wandered. ‘What would following the order truly mean? Would the forests of Caliban finally be cleared of the forest monsters? Would people finally be able to live without fear?’ The warrior did not know, but they could at least find solace in that they would be part of the solution, at least they hoped.
When they entered the great hall, they saw that the majority of the order had already assembled. Knights clad in armor sat at long tables, drinking and eating. The warrior found an empty table where there was still food, and began to eat, raising their helmet only slightly to eat. They could take their helmet off at any time, but they weren't comfortable with exposing their identity, not to a group of people they had just met. Their parents had warned them to be wary of sharing their identity. If only their parents were here to give them further advice. If only they had been able to protect their parents. If only they had been more prepared….
They were shaken from their thoughts as one of the knights from a different table had come over and slammed their tankard of ale upon the table. “Haven’ sheen yu ‘round ere’ before?”
The warrior could see the knight could not hold down their ale and had gotten drunk, or they were too stupid to take a hint, or they were too arrogant to care. The warrior tried to ignore them and continue to eat their meal as if they weren’t there.
The knight however seemed to not appreciate being ignored and slammed their fist against the table. “Ey, I’m talkin’ to you.” The knight reached out to remove the warrior’s helmet. “If yu don’t wanna talk, them I ‘ope yu don’ mind if I take a look under dat ‘elmet.” And as they were about to touch the warriors helmet, the warrior slapped away their hand silently.
The warrior stared at them in the eyes behind their helmet. “I wish to be left alone.” They said, before returning to their meal, hoping to be able to eat in peace, and for this knight to go away and bother someone else.
The Knight, however, was not so easily dissuaded. They drunkenly unsheathed their sword, pointing it at the warrior. “I ‘ont care. I wanna talk to ya.” The knight tried to lift up the helmet with the tip of their sword. Once again though, they were unable to remove their helmet. But not because the warrior prevented them.
No, this time they would be stopped by a sword through the neck, and the Lioness swiftly removed their blade from the drunken knight. The Lioness ran their blade against their greaves to wipe away the blood before addressing the crowd of onlooking knights. “Drunkenness will not be accepted in this order, nor will unsolicited advances. Now return to your meals. We move out in an hour.” The Lioness looked momentarily to the warrior, who seemed slightly shaken, but not unphased., before moving on to their next duty. They would continue to watch over them, because the Lioness knew that they should not have survived the wounds they suffered the day before, let alone be able to fight the day after. They were special.

Hi all.
I (24F) lost my grandmother who raised me 7 months ago. So essentially she was like a mother to me. I took off of work for 5 days, and then it was back in the saddle. Through those five days, I handled everything that comes with the death of a loved one. Her cremation, obituary, memorial, etc. I had to be my Dad’s rock through all of it.
I cried when I got the news, I felt anger and sadness and all of the emotions at once, which only lasted for a few minutes before I had to hold it all together and, “get down to business”.
When I returned to work, I let it be my distraction. I went in early and stayed late every single day, I was basically just letting myself get consumed by it. So I didnt cry, I didnt scream into the void, I just knew that the world wasn’t going to stop turning just for me. Which looking back, I wonder how in the world I was able to just turn it all off and resume life as normal, because about 3 weeks ago I completely fell apart and now I am in shambles.
I have cried every night, I have lost all of my motivation, I have been angry, felt guilty and regretful, pretty much all of the things. I feel lost, I feel like I lost the one person on this planet that really understood me, and accepted me for everything that I am. I miss her so badly that it hurts, my chest my heart- it physically hurts and aches for her. I wish I could just feel her hug me again, even just for a moment.
I dont even know where to begin as far as putting myself back together again.

Hi folks, I hope everyone is doing well! Personally, I'm going through your average mid-week crisis of faith - not to sound dramatic or anything :) A bit of an introduction, I'm quite new to Christianity, despite being baptised as an infant (I wasn't raised in a religious household despite this - it was a Catholic baptism). I attend an Anglican church, but I've done most of my learning and study through online resources, and I started listening to a bible study podcast that really resonated with me and helped me grow in my faith. That is until the host of the podcast put forward his belief that infant baptism is not biblical, and therefore, those who have been baptised only as an infant are not saved.
I'd never considered this before, and the prospect absolutely devasted me. It has sent me into a bit of a spiral, and I think I need some help in understanding why we baptise infants. I'm afraid that my baptism was not what Jesus commanded of us (it was not preceded by repentance, acceptance of Him as my saviour, followed by immersion), therefore I have not actually "accepted" his sacrifice on the cross, and as a result, the Holy Spirit does not dwell in me. I'm going to go ahead and list out some reasons I'm struggling to accept it as a valid baptism:
1. What 'Baptise' actually means...
When the verb 'baptise' is used in the Gospels, it means to immerse in water. This is what Jesus commands of us, and it is what he did himself. So right off the bat, I don't think my infant baptism is what Jesus commanded of us to do - it was a 'sprinkling' of water, not an immersion.
2. Accepting the gift of salvation as an infant...
Obviously, as an infant, I was not able to comprehend what was happening. Nor could I accept Jesus as my saviour and repent of my sins (talking about original sin here, pretty sure I didn't break any commandments as a baby). I believe this isn't necessarily a problem, because we have seen in Matthew 9: 1 - 7 that Jesus forgives the sins of a paralysed man because of the faith shown by those with him. So I think it's fair to say that although a baby cannot accept the gift of salvation, their parents can accept it on behalf of them. Great! But in my case, my parents did not actually believe in God despite having me baptised. So their reasoning for the baptism was not biblical. I guess I can hope the priest who performed the sacrament believed and that this was enough, but who knows!
3. Biblical examples of the 'household' being baptised...
Another verse often quoted to support infant baptism is Acts 16:15 'And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.' I suppose it is fair to assume there may have been infants in the household. But there may not have been. I'm worried about basing my salvation on an assumption.
4. Jesus warns the disciples of turning away children from Him...
Again, another verse to support infant baptism is Matthew 19:14 'But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.' Again I feel that this is a fair assumption, but perhaps taken out of context? Jesus isn't talking specifically about baptism here.
And those are pretty much the reasons why I'm struggling to accept my baptism was valid and that I have been saved. I understand it's the done thing in Anglican churches, and that it's probably something I should speak to a clergy member about. I'm working on gathering the courage to do that. Am I being an idiot and completely misunderstanding the biblical teaching on this? I'm really struggling with this one, so I'd appreciate any help or words of encouragement. I'm terrified I've been walking around thinking I've been saved, while all this time it was just a delusion.
I'm sure that God is not beholden to baptism, e.g. if it is His will to save someone who is not baptised then He will do it. But then I see a verse like John 3:5 'Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.' and it fills me with anxiety. I used to love reading the bible, but now that this doubt is in my head, I can't help but feeling dread. Do I need to toughen up and have more faith?

Again, another verse to support infant baptism is Matthew 19:14 'But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.' Again I feel that this is a fair assumption, but perhaps taken out of context? Jesus isn't talking specifically about baptism here.
And those are pretty much the reasons why I'm struggling to accept my baptism was valid and that I have been saved. I understand it's the done thing in Anglican churches, and that it's probably something I should speak to a clergy member about. I'm working on gathering the courage to do that. Am I being an idiot and completely misunderstanding the biblical teaching on this? I'm really struggling with this one, so I'd appreciate any help or words of encouragement. I'm terrified I've been walking around thinking I've been saved, while all this time it was just a delusion.
I'm sure that God is not beholden to baptism, e.g. if it is His will to save someone who is not baptised then He will do it. But then I see a verse like John 3:5 'Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.' and it fills me with anxiety. I used to love reading the bible, but now that this doubt is in my head, I can't help but feeling dread. Do I need to toughen up and have more faith?

Reiner: "We failed because I didn't follow the plan, we lost Bertholdt as well, they have his power."
Magath: "You can't be fucking serious. We spent all that money and training for you and only you return? Marcel was lost the first day and now those 5 years were all for nothing?!"
Reiner: "Well we have some knowledge -"
Magath: "Reiner. All I will say is that you WILL be stripped of the armor. We wasted money on you. You're lucky we decided to return despite you not being here, Eldian."
Zeke: "The battle began after 4 days sir. Reiner didn't follow my plan. It is his fault."

Zeke: "The founding titan lays within Eren Yeager, he is my half-brother. My father Grisha, must've gotten away when he got sent to "heaven". It appears that the Attack Titan lays within Eren as well, since the only way Grisha could get to the walls was if he was a titan. We also don't know what happened to that titan as well. The scouts may come here soon, they will go beyond the walls after all they clear out all the titans. Should we send more?"
Magath: "I'm not sure yet. However if the world finds out that we lost 2 titans, we may be in trouble."
Magath: "Reiner, you are incredibly lucky that someone told the outside world about the loss of our two titans. If you fight in this war and prevail victorious, you will not be stripped of the armor. That person will be tortured and killed."
Reiner: "I won't waste this chance, sir."
On Paradis, the scouts reach the sea. All the titans are gone and none are sent back to Eldia. Eren by each day, gets more miserable knowing what he is going to do. The country is blooming. The scouts saved Paraids, railways are being built as well as ports. However, there is debate to attack Marley or wait. People are not sure.
Currently, the M.E.A.F are winning the war.
Eventually, as we know leaves the Scouts after a meeting about treatment of subjects of ymir turns on them.
Eren plans a raid on Liberio, writes letters talking about how Zeke will join their side. Eren currently lives in a hospital, disguised as a wounded soldier, despite Eren fighting in the war.

- The cart with Zeke, and Reiner are heading back to the port, they are already late. They took too long waiting for the scouts and are thinking the ship isn't there. They are currently running back to the port. Reiner's limbs haven't regrown yet.
Reiner: "I think it is over for me. Wait a minute.. hey.. where's Bertholdt?"

- Pieck runs to the port, some titans try to chase after her, but there aren't many. After 2 days they arrive, with no rest. Zeke told her to get there as fast as she could, so they might have a slim chance of reaching the boat.
Zeke: "Reiner?"

A Scion of Many Worlds
Observer Wu was not sure about this next call. There had been rumours, rumours stories and absurdities from first to last. But this was one he would need to investigate thoroughly. He steels his face to a neutral position as the call goes through.
“You’re on a drone observing. I am working.” Is the first thing that comes through. A voice simultaneously deep but accompanied with a chorus of tingling bells. The image shows an enormous figure that appears to be primarily composed of shimmering white fur looking over the 3D model of a building as he directs things through the air with his right hand. Support structures, beams and building materials all soar at his direction and quickly slam themselves into place to quickly construct a large structure. “I am capable of speaking as I work, so if you have questions then ask them.”
“I am Observer Wu from Earth. I am looking for Mister Blue.
“I am one of the Blues.” The enormous figure states. “Jasper Blue, also Emmanuel Skitterway.”
The camera zooms in before something white catches onto it and it’s forced back. “Apologies, the drone is not of the best quality.”
“I would assume that a... God Emperor would have better?”
“I am directing these resources into infrastructure. Things like this sewage processing plant will not build themselves and the components that the camera drone requires are better spent ensuring that pathogens are kept out of the water, or that a medical scanner has appropriate redundancies.” Emmanuel replies as the panelling to the outside of the building start attaching itself at his direction and they’re quickly left with a solid looking structure with numerous tanks to the side.
“Alright the building is finished! Painters! Have your way with it!” He calls out and numerous people rush up with decorating supplies. “There is more for me to do. While many of the relief ships arrived with prefabricated buildings there was an unfortunate and nearly universal blindspot in their considerations.”
“Which is?”
“That while the world is settled by many respects, it was at a late iron age level at best, borderline tribal in other areas. Sewage treatment and sanitation concerns like that are simply not in their proper place. Every major and minor settlement requires a massive overhaul of it’s infrastructure in order to bring the living standards up to even industrial levels, let alone galactic levels.” Emmanuel states.
“This seems rather menial for someone ostensibly in charge of an entire planet.”
“Delegation. I have any communications and status updates relayed to me through that pursuing drone, it’s a hand’s free system, so while it is not always at one hundred percent satisfaction it allows me to lead while I also work. After all, many of the legislative concerns can be easily taken care of by my numerous assistants, but only a handful of people have the sanitation know how and willingness to work and put together sewage containment.”
“A little demeaning for one worshipped as a god.”
“I am a Primal. I’m going to be regarded as such whether I indent a throne with an ever widening rear or gunk out sewer lines, and of the two only one of them actually makes things better.” Emmanuel dismisses.
“Really. Yet you’re still not getting dirty.”
“I could do things less efficiently to look like I’ve been working hard, but honestly it’s all in the Axiom. The truth of the matter is that sewer work with even just a small amount of technology is more boring than dirty.” Emmanuel states before turning, the camera turns with him. It now shows where an entire army of workers are installing the pipes and systems for a proper sewage network. “Still, not bad eh? One year ago this place was an abandoned wreck of a smaller city. The population all but mind controlled by a group of religious fanatics who convinced them to abandon their homes and any dignity. They’ve come a long way since.” Emmanuel states.
“Have they?”
“This was the Greenstone Alliance Territory, a breakaway state from The Empire of Miru. To them the cannon was the military innovation rocking the nation.”
“I see...”
“Now they get air conditioning, indoor plumbing, heating in the winter, canned food for the leaner months, telephones to speak with their loved ones over a distance, radio for alerts and entertainment and far more.” Emmanuel states as he indicates an antenna being set up.
“All that?” Observer Wu remarks. “You seem a little... involved for a supposed god.”
“There are two so called gods on this world.” Emmanuel replies. “I, who have personally conquered much of it, wheeled and dealed with other nations and proved myself as warrior and leader both, and Yserizan. Yserizan is either the mother, grandmother or great grandmother of at least a quarter of the world population.”
“And your relationship to this Yserizan?”
“One of my wives. Our union was also a unification of Lablan as a single strong point on this world and...”
“What’s this?” A new voice asks and the camera reorients to a young woman with glowing golden hair.
“Just a camera drone, nothing to be concerned about.” Emmanuel states.
“Oh. So it’s watching us?”
“Yes.”
“And the image of the person on top of it?”
“The person watching.”
“Who is he?”
“Observer Wu.”
“And why is an Observer needed?”
“Do you recall whenever Earth or the Origins of Humanity are discussed?”
“A little? Every time I seem to get a little bit more education it just lets me see how much more there is.”
“Oh that’s very normal.” Emmanuel replies.
“If I may be introduced?” Observer Wu asks.
“I am Empress Zaviah Enlightened Luxen Divine Ascendant, ruler of Miru Reborn.”
“Miru Reborn is?”
“One of the largest empires upon Lakran. Consisting of Central Miru, The Greenstone Territories of Northern Miru and The Goldlands Unification of Southern Miru. Our population is primarily Erumenta of all types, but other peoples are of course welcome.”
“And what brought about this rebirth?” Observer Wu asks and his eyebrows go up as Zaviah points right at Emmanuel.
“Heh, guilty. Everywhere I turned the planet seemed to just be full of more and more problems that needed to stop sometime ten years ago and no one else was available. So I did the best I could.”
“And then broke armies, nations and all known limits upon people.”
“All presently known limits, what I did is only impressive when it’s weighed in that I started with only Horace’s memories and didn’t even understand how an Urthani body fully worked at the time.” Emmanuel states.
“Yes. I read that report. It was absurd.”
“It was accurate. We have all the parties involved to attest for it here on planet if you care to speak with them.” Emmanuel notes as he checks a device and nods. “All right, next is...”
“Break.” Zaviah tells him.
“Excuse me.”
“Grandmother has given ME the authority to force you into rest father!” Zaviah says with relish in her tone.
“She wouldn’t!”
“She has! If I see that you’re working too hard I can tell you to stop.”
“You do know she legally has no such authority over me right?” Emmanuel asks pointing a diamond plated claw at the comparatively tiny Erumenta who’s grinning widely at this.
“Yes, but she’ll be so disappointed that her little boy isn’t taking care of himself anymore even though he promised to and...”
“It was a mistake working so hard to make the two of you friends.” Emmanuel says in a note of false despair. “Just a moment I’ll instruct the work crew on the next few communities to proceed without me.”
“That sounds like work.”
“A text to go with Plan B rather than Plan A is not work, it’s good manners.” Emmanuel protests and raises an eye ridge as a much smaller girl tries to glare him down. “Are you sure you want to put so much force into your day by day interactions while...”
A tiny dark shape slams into Zaviah to the Erumenta’s audible protest as Magrica starts gushing about how cute it is for the little girl to finally have some grit in her gut and how she’s going to braid her hair and take her monster hunting and get her a battleaxe to go with that attitude...
Emmanuel turns to the politely puzzled Wu and shrugs.
“Motherhood does amazing things to some women. Magrica was much more openly fierce before, but she decided that all my children, adopted and otherwise, were hers to teach and nurture into proper warriors.”
“And how did she take the fact that you are technically the step parent of a quarter of the world’s population if what you told me about Yserizan is correct?”
“She has an entire squadron of Nagasha she’s training to be monster hunters. It’s actually going pretty well. The Jungle Nagasha are really appreciating it more than the other types, but the few Cloud Nagasha they have as scouts and aerial reconnaissance are fully embracing the role.”
“And how are you taking to... godhood?” Observer Wu asks his eyes penetrating.
“It grows more comfortable unfortunately.”
“Unfortunately.” Wu repeats. Not questioning, but certainly prompting.
“I’ve had to put aside my own prejudices in the matter. Humans have a bad track record with self proclaimed gods and messiahs. Too many fakes and too many holy wars. To say nothing of the cults, witch-hunts and the like. And Urthani would follow any number of faiths, but the divine figure was either some kind of Divine Truth, a more abstract theology, gods that embody concepts or something animist for the most part.”
“Did you look to The Nagasha for a better example?”
“I did, and that’s what caused me to grow more comfortable with the title. Primal Nagasha aren’t worshipped in the way humans would a prohet or saint. Seeing them as nigh infallible. No, a Primal Nagasha is simply the very best that a Nagasha can be and it can neither be stopped nor denied. While most of them are indeed leaders to follow, authorities to obey or the sources of philosophy to accept, they are not regarded as unquestionable or infallible.”
“And that is what helped?”
“It is. I was terrified that someone would misinterpret me, either honestly or malevolently, and cause immense damage in my name. A crusade to cull any politician that isn’t in the military through fire and steel, or an Urthani Colony deciding that they deserve the entire world and since not only have the strength now, but a god of their own, that they are righteous in slaughter... I had several kinds of nightmare when I let my mind wander.”
“And?” Wu prompts.
“I had a conversation. An important one with an important person. She helped me put everything in perspective. But she’s not the type to appreciate too much attention. So she’s requested I keep things quiet. But, I can say that she is an authority on the subject. And she had a fair amount to say.”
“So you’ve spoken to other so called gods of the serpent people.”
“Primal Nagasha, and yes. One has arrived already, she lives her life as quietly as she can. Another is soon to arrive. The first wanted my measure, the second wants to ensure that as a more militaristic Primal that I’m up to standard as she calls it.”
“Oh?”
“I’m part of the smallest stable demographic in the galaxy. Primals. Apparently we’re a very self policing people.”
“So in other words, you’re more a celebrity in multiple fields than some object of worship?”
“Closer to actual worship than celebrity worship I’m afraid. Still, it’s not mindless, and those that are looking for an excuse... well they’ll find another one if it’s not me. At least if someone’s trying to use my name to do something horrible it means I have all moral authority to let them know how stupid such a thing is.”
“I suppose that is an upside to an insane cult deciding that it wants to go on a rampage in your name.”
“But that’s just the thing I really had to internalize, if they’re going to do that, then they’re going to do it and I’m just their excuse. They’ll find another if I’m not available. I’m responsible for the example I set, the actions I do and the things I say. I am not responsible for how they are interpreted.”
“Interesting. Still, is there a reason you’re sharing this in particular?”
“I figured the most distressing thing that Earth would consider about my situation was my rise into divine stature. A powerful soldier can be understood, a powerful politician or businessman can also be understood, but someone being regarded as a god can not be understood within a positive context thanks to the rather terrible history of such on Earth.” Emmanuel says.
“That... is an interesting concern. However, you do not think your conquering an entire world to be a bad thing?”
“Considering that it was basically in unending war, competition and self sabotage? Yes. You see, this world was suffering over an unending brain drain due to the fact that all male colonists were lost in the initial crash of the colony ship. There were surviving males, but they were in stasis and could not be retrieved. The method that was used to ensure there would be a future population was flawed, intended as an emergency stopgap. But they didn’t have the means to move past it. So it was used over and over again. This world was nearing the breaking point.”
“And that justifies conquering it?”
“When the nation states are tearing themselves apart through mindless pride? Scheming for the sake of scheming? Or are outright predating the other states? Yes, yes it does. To not intervene would have killed, far, far more people.”
“So you justify things by saying that thye will thank you some day?’
“They thank me now.”
“And it’s sincere?”
“Yes, considering that I’ve had a woman weep with relief at getting something as simple as a pair of glasses, or another outright beg for her child and herself to be healed of the degeneration they’ve suffered. How can I consider it anything but sincere?” Emmanuel asks.
“Oh? Who are you speaking with?” A new voice asks before a massive serpent woman slithers into Wu’s field of view. Her hood is fully flared out to reveal her as Lady Yserizan as she regards things. “A human friend?”
“An Observer from earth, they’re struggling to believe all the things they’ve been told.”
“Considering some mornings I wake up scarcely believing how my life has changed for the better I don’t blame them.” Yserizan notes happily. “Still, is there anything this... Observer wants to know in particular?”
“In particular I want to know many things. I’m just saying my first hello and listening to whatever anyone wants to say to me. I’ll be visiting that world before I return to Earth so make of that what you will.” Observer Wu says.
“Of course, it might be interesting to show you the temple my daughters made for me.”
“I will admit, receiving a tour of a living god’s temple from the god themselves will be a new experience for me.” Observer Wu admits.

“And then broke armies, nations and all known limits upon people.”
“All presently known limits, what I did is only impressive when it’s weighed in that I started with only Horace’s memories and didn’t even understand how an Urthani body fully worked at the time.” Emmanuel states.

“It was a mistake working so hard to make the two of you friends.” Emmanuel says in a note of false despair. “Just a moment I’ll instruct the work crew on the next few communities to proceed without me.”

“A text to go with Plan B rather than Plan A is not work, it’s good manners.” Emmanuel protests and raises an eye ridge as a much smaller girl tries to glare him down. “Are you sure you want to put so much force into your day by day interactions while...”
A tiny dark shape slams into Zaviah to the Erumenta’s audible protest as Magrica starts gushing about how cute it is for the little girl to finally have some grit in her gut and how she’s going to braid her hair and take her monster hunting and get her a battleaxe to go with that attitude...
Emmanuel turns to the politely puzzled Wu and shrugs.
“Motherhood does amazing things to some women. Magrica was much more openly fierce before, but she decided that all my children, adopted and otherwise, were hers to teach and nurture into proper warriors.”
“And how did she take the fact that you are technically the step parent of a quarter of the world’s population if what you told me about Yserizan is correct?”
“She has an entire squadron of Nagasha she’s training to be monster hunters. It’s actually going pretty well. The Jungle Nagasha are really appreciating it more than the other types, but the few Cloud Nagasha they have as scouts and aerial reconnaissance are fully embracing the role.”
“And how are you taking to... godhood?” Observer Wu asks his eyes penetrating.
“It grows more comfortable unfortunately.”
“Unfortunately.” Wu repeats. Not questioning, but certainly prompting.
“I’ve had to put aside my own prejudices in the matter. Humans have a bad track record with self proclaimed gods and messiahs. Too many fakes and too many holy wars. To say nothing of the cults, witch-hunts and the like. And Urthani would follow any number of faiths, but the divine figure was either some kind of Divine Truth, a more abstract theology, gods that embody concepts or something animist for the most part.”
“Did you look to The Nagasha for a better example?”
“I did, and that’s what caused me to grow more comfortable with the title. Primal Nagasha aren’t worshipped in the way humans would a prohet or saint. Seeing them as nigh infallible. No, a Primal Nagasha is simply the very best that a Nagasha can be and it can neither be stopped nor denied. While most of them are indeed leaders to follow, authorities to obey or the sources of philosophy to accept, they are not regarded as unquestionable or infallible.”
“And that is what helped?”
“It is. I was terrified that someone would misinterpret me, either honestly or malevolently, and cause immense damage in my name. A crusade to cull any politician that isn’t in the military through fire and steel, or an Urthani Colony deciding that they deserve the entire world and since not only have the strength now, but a god of their own, that they are righteous in slaughter... I had several kinds of nightmare when I let my mind wander.”

“I had a conversation. An important one with an important person. She helped me put everything in perspective. But she’s not the type to appreciate too much attention. So she’s requested I keep things quiet. But, I can say that she is an authority on the subject. And she had a fair amount to say.”
“So you’ve spoken to other so called gods of the serpent people.”
“Primal Nagasha, and yes. One has arrived already, she lives her life as quietly as she can. Another is soon to arrive. The first wanted my measure, the second wants to ensure that as a more militaristic Primal that I’m up to standard as she calls it.”
“Oh?”
“I’m part of the smallest stable demographic in the galaxy. Primals. Apparently we’re a very self policing people.”
“So in other words, you’re more a celebrity in multiple fields than some object of worship?”
“Closer to actual worship than celebrity worship I’m afraid. Still, it’s not mindless, and those that are looking for an excuse... well they’ll find another one if it’s not me. At least if someone’s trying to use my name to do something horrible it means I have all moral authority to let them know how stupid such a thing is.”
“I suppose that is an upside to an insane cult deciding that it wants to go on a rampage in your name.”
“But that’s just the thing I really had to internalize, if they’re going to do that, then they’re going to do it and I’m just their excuse. They’ll find another if I’m not available. “I figured the most distressing thing that Earth would consider about my situation was my rise into divine stature. A powerful soldier can be understood, a powerful politician or businessman can also be understood, but someone being regarded as a god can not be understood within a positive context thanks to the rather terrible history of such on Earth.” Emmanuel says.
“That... is an interesting concern. However, you do not think your conquering an entire world to be a bad thing?”
“Considering that it was basically in unending war, competition and self sabotage? Yes. You see, this world was suffering over an unending brain drain due to the fact that all male colonists were lost in the initial crash of the colony ship. There were surviving males, but they were in stasis and could not be retrieved. The method that was used to ensure there would be a future population was flawed, intended as an emergency stopgap. But they didn’t have the means to move past it. So it was used over and over again. This world was nearing the breaking point.”
“And that justifies conquering it?”
“When the nation states are tearing themselves apart through mindless pride? Scheming for the sake of scheming? Or are outright predating the other states? Yes, yes it does. To not intervene would have killed, far, far more people.”

“An Observer from earth, they’re struggling to believe all the things they’ve been told.”
“Considering some mornings I wake up scarcely believing how my life has changed for the better I don’t blame them.” Yserizan notes happily. “Still, is there anything this... Observer wants to know in particular?”
“In particular I want to know many things. I’m just saying my first hello and listening to whatever anyone wants to say to me. I’ll be visiting that world before I return to Earth so make of that what you will.” Observer Wu says.
“Of course, it might be interesting to show you the temple my daughters made for me.”
“I will admit, receiving a tour of a living god’s temple from the god themselves will be a new experience for me.” Observer Wu admits.

Hey guys so I've owned a pair of Adam A7Xs that are hooked up to a topping e30 for volume control. Recently one of the pair has started having a crackling noise coming through the Woofer. If I turn the speaker off and on it stops for a minute or two then comes back. Tried swapping cables and ports on the DAC and the problem has stayed with the one speaker. Any suggestions as to what it could be caused by?

2024.05.16 23:10 Alaa495 Help! Voltage dropped down fom 61v down to 4v and no longer charging.
Today, i wanted to ride my 60v electric scooter like i always do, i turned the key on and saw that the voltage was at 61v and dropped down to 3v in around 5 seconds before the voltometer stopped displaying the voltage. Now whenever i turn the key on, the voltage shows around 5v and droppes down to around 3v before the voltometer stops displaying the voltage. The electric scooter doesn't seem to be charging either, when i plug the charger in, the light stays on green.
Around 2 days ago, i accidantly cut the cable of the key ignition that shows the voltage, when i did that, the cable sparked a bit before i was able to seperate the the black cable (the cable for the voltage i think) from the green and red cable. I replaced the key ignition and the electric scooter was working. One thing i noticed is sometimes when im full throttle on the electric scooter, the electric scooter doesn't give the full power, but when i release the throttle 10% or more and accelerate fully again, i get the full power. The electric scooter is only ridden around 800km and rarely in rain, even when ridden in rain its only for like 5 minutes and in light rain so i can get to the gym. last time ridden in rain is almost 2 month ago.
I am suspecting that the battery is faulty, which would suck since i used to really take good care of my electric scooter and never get near 55 volts or less and only use full throttle for a short time (most of the time riding about 24km/h). i also never charged the electric scooter with a 2a charger.
If the battery is faulty, where can i buy a new one and how much does it cost? the one i have is a 60 21ah battery. i've heard that people buy batteries from alibaba, but i've seen som prices that are too good to be true.

Hi everyone. I live in the USA in a legal state, and chose Planned Parenthood for my care. At the beginning of May, I had an MA at about 7 weeks with mifepristone and 1 dose of miso. I did bleed and pass clots, and bled for a couple weeks afterwards. I got an infection during that time so I made a follow up appointment for yesterday. Turns out, I not only have BV and a yeast infection, but I am also still pregnant. I was devastated because I already struggled mentally the first time. Now I have to do this again with a double dose of miso. They said I’m looking to be about 10 weeks now. I suppose I am lucky that the infection got me to go back in while I am still in the window to try the pills again, but now I am worried they won’t work this time either. If it matters, I took them vaginally the first time, but this time I’ve been instructed to take them orally. Does anyone have any experience with something similar, such as a failed first MA but a successful second? Also any support is greatly appreciated.

I recently got into CD collecting a little over a month ago and bought a Sony D-E225 to listen to them with (since I almost always use headphones I thought a portable CD player would be best). It works almost perfectly, the only issue is a static-y hum/buzz that I can only hear during quiet parts of songs. It comes through my headphones, not noise from the mechanism, so it gets louder if i turn up the volume. Not an issue with my headphones since they sound alright plugged into other devices. Not an issue with any particular CD, I've listened to several. Turning off skip protection doesn't change anything. Does anyone know what caused this and if I can do anything about it?

I would like to share my story about my journey, i don’t know where to post this but firstly i would like to say sorry if it wasn’t related to the purpose of this channel
First of all, first time i saw porn is at 4 grade elementary school my senior gave me the story about it in a very unque that drives me to explore those things at home. That behavior really stuck in me until right now.
Back then at 2019, i got a really beautifull girlfriend in my last high school. She is really cute and i really trust her very much and our relationship at first is going really well, for some reason she notice that i have somw kind of weird behavior such as watching porn and masturbate. At first, i thought she gonna be illfeel with my behavior but at that time she is researching the whole things about porn addiction and everything related to it.
She really taking care of my boredness, loneliness and also she backed up my university exam. So, i won’t get stressed out and do those bad things anymore, i just did not understand at around 2020 - 2021 my urge really high at that time and yeah you know what we always getting angry at each other and i guess she was tired because of the amount of time she spend for me didn’t work out really well and things just be more worse than ever before. The things i recently realised she wasn’t give up and she is really trying to call me every single day 24/7 just to make sure i didn’t do those bad things (btw we were in long distance relationship different nation)
I just realized one of the side effect of this bad behavior was, it won’t make us to feel enough about everything that we got and it always lead us to overreacting something. That is what i experience before. And yeah you know what after all the things she did to me i tried to cutt off her, late 2021 and early to mid 2022 we always argue something unreasonably and the things i regret the most till right now was at that time i was unable to control my emotion and everything i always said bad things about her and mocking her yelling her and she just cried and cried, at some moment that make me cried til right now is after the argument she cried to me and begging me to change and not to insulting her but i was an evil back then and i didn’t put attetion to her request.
After that long argument and yeah 2022 was my very lowest point of my life cauze my addiction really become uncontrollable, the moment that i really regreted the most is, i cheated her and yeah we got in a big argument, the weird things is she is trying to save our relationship but i was selfish and i just breaking up with her at maybe Sept/Octo 2024. That is was when my life become black out totally.
I really losing someone who is taking care of my addiction even my parents doesn’t give anything to encourage me to fight for this (at that time they know what is my problem but didn’t care much about it).
As you know, in 2023 nothing much has changed and i just becoming worse than ever before. I was becoming a lazy person, not doing a job welly, even for taking a bath or sleeping i was really lazy to do it. That year i the worse year ever in my life, trying to fix her but another girl but it turn out nothing.
Just a few days ago my friends telling me that she is already with another guy, i watched her bideo with her new boyfriend and she was smilling and yeah i’m feeling happy that she could get a boy that could make she happy and safe, but at the same time i was really sad that the one who make her smile isn’t me anymore, i’m not the reason she smile. Honestly speaking, at the moment i saw that video i was crying inside and yeah the feel of regret it beyond expectation especially for myself. I know that i couldn’t turn back the time when we are in Q3 2022 just to fixing things and i know that time always passing by, everything has a risk being with her or without her.
With this letter i just wanna say to you i’m really sorry for those year, every arguments, every things that comes out from my mouth or my finger that hurt your hearth very bad, i just wanna say i’m really sorry i really negging for your forgiveness. Thanks for suppoting me back then, from my hobbies to my university studies and to every life hacks you gave me. I hope you were happy ever after with your new bf.
I write this things down here just to share my experienced and the journey of myself to be out from this addiction, for those every girl or boy that has a person who supporting you badly to cure this behavior my suggestion was don’t waste that kind of person, maybe that was a person that god gave to you to make your journey easier. Be feel enough.
