Posting to ask if anyone who owns this true beauty (GS ref. SBGA375) cares to share their ownership experience with me?
I’m deciding between an Omega or a Grand Seiko piece for my next ‘big’ watch purchase (quotations marks as everything is relative!).
I typically gravitate towards ‘simplistic’ pieces. For Omega, it’s a white dial 39mm Seamaster Aqua Terra on a bracelet that speaks to me most. Today I visited the GS Boutique in Mayfair, London to see a ‘Snowflake’ as I thought this would be the most natural comparator (competitor?). After a very lovely and very impressive chat with the boutique manager, I came away mesmerised by this piece - the GS ref. SBGA375. I can’t pinpoint a single standout factor - for me, it’s everything combined. The dial - the quintessential GS/spring drive movement - the design language - the finishing. I’m so very impressed. I’ve had similar reactions in the past with certain Cartier pieces. Though, these pieces tend to cost multiples (if not many multiples) of the SBGA375’s UK RRP (£4,950).
I also really dig the fact that, with the Swiss option, I visited an Omega boutique with a specific piece in mind and, having seen and handled lots of pieces ‘in the metal’, my mind was not swayed. I predictably stuck with my decision.
However, with the (perhaps no longer?) idiosyncratic, Japanese GS, I visited a boutique again with a specific piece in mind. Something partly classic and partly worlds apart totally swayed me.

Hello all! Otto here. And, as you all now know. NoaHM has finally come to an end. It's been a hell of a ride that I'll never forget. But before I move on to thanking specific people and telling you all what's in store, I wanted to be a bit mushy for a minute if you'll indulge me...

When I first heard of NoP, I was in the middle of the night shift that I'm still working to this day. I had a single ear bud in, which was TECHNICALLY against the rules, and still is but fuck 'em. And to pass the time, I listened to stories. Either Mr. Creeps' Creepypasta compilations or, in this case, Agro Squirrel's Tales From Outer SPACE series. And eventually, I heard the name, The Nature Of Predators...and it all went downhill from there as you all can well imagine.

Jokes aside, I fell in love with the story and universe and decided to check out the community. And soon, I found the very first fic I ever read on here, "My Floridian Arxur Daughter". From that point on, I was hooked. I read "Arxur Nursery", "The New Terran Refugee", "Feathers Of Deceit", "Lost In Found", "Recipe For Disaster", "Playing By Ear", and so, SO many more. The sheer amount of creativity on display was amazing. And so...I decided to try my hand at it.

I'd already written a short creepypasta, as well as a small five-part miniseries based off of one of my friends DnD campaigns, so I had a LITTLE experience, but I still hadn't taken a single writing course or knew...anything about what I was doing, so I decided to try something small. (That worked out well...)
​
I was in the middle of rereading "Floridian Arxur Daughter" for...maybe the sixth time when a particular scene stuck out to me. Something about it...made something click in my head. After evacuating young Chalta from the house, her big bother Carlos and his girlfriend Salisek decide to take her out on a drive, and while their driving, Carlos mentions his ability to sing, and after both Chalta and Salisek both ask for a demonstration, he sings a beautiful rendition of "Send Me A Peach" from Over The Garden Wall.

It was a touching scene, and hearing the song from Chalta's point of view clicked with me. It was by this point that I'd also discovered "Playing By Ear" by u/VeryUnluckyDice, which was essentially this "listening to music through the perspective of someone else's mind" idea made manifest. And that's where it all began. I made a post, proposing the premise of my story, and while I didn't get a LOT of feedback, most of the feedback I got was positive. And a few days later, "Nature Of A Homeless Musician: Prologue" was born, in all of its overly edgy glory. And well...you know the rest from there...

I never could have imagined just how big this story would get. It was NEVER supposed to grow this much, touch so many people, inspire so many others to make stuff themselves. Sure, I hoped that it might, but I never thought it would! But now...here we are...

I...can't put into words, how thankful I am to each and every single one of you, who gave my little idea a chance. It means more to me then I could ever describe. Ever since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to make my living by making things! At first, I thought that just meant being a Youtuber, like every cringy middle schooler does, but now...I think I get it... I've always wanted to be able to make things, and for those things to make OTHER people happy. Make them laugh, make them cry, make them smile, and make their days just a little bit brighter.

I've...long since given up that old dream... I just didn't think it was possible, not for me anyways. But you all proved me wrong. Every comment, every meme, every bit of art you guys make...proves me wrong. When I got my first bit of fanart, I cried at my monitor. Because for the first time in so long that I can't even remember, I was happy. I was so, so happy, because it genuinely felt like this dream that I've had since I was a kid was finally possible. Someone discovered something I made, and enjoyed it enough, loved it enough, got invested enough, to make something themselves just to show me and everyone else just how much they loved it.... And it made me happy, so, so damn happy.

So thank you. Thank you all so much for everything you do. Thank you for reading, commenting, replying, suggesting, joking, laughing, creating, and expressing with me. It means more than you'll ever know. And even if I don't end up pursuing writing after this, my life will never be the same, thanks to all of you.

And your work was the first tiny spark that slowly became NoaHM. I've said it multiple times, and I'll say it again, if there was no "Arxur Daughter", there would be no "Homeless Musician". When I first started writing, I didn't even think I'd ever even meet you, but the fact that I have, and that you've joined my own little community of music and Tohba memes means the world to me.

And that one picture, of Michael and the rest of the main cast has had such an enormous impact on not just me, but the rest of the sub as a whole. It was that one picture that gave me hope that the dream I've had since I was a kid was possible. It was your artwork of Tohba that, TO THIS DAY, Dovah is still using to award people who beat him to the precious title of "SPEED". I mean it when I say you are an absolute treasure, not just to me and my story, but to the entire NoP community.

Roughly 10 years as a watch enthusiast, and more recently got absolutely passionate about the watchmaking industry.
I may buy a sixth one. And maybe a seventh. And so on But at the moment I feel great with those.
Was thinking of a divers or a chronograph. A vintage Omega Seamaster, caliber 562 or 565 with date. Or a Speedmaster Reduced !

Funny mix, I like it that way !

Ok so y'all been saying JLLM was good since yesterday. But to me it's seriously dry and now it even doing this (as shown in the picture). When i click edit for that response it didn't say {{char}} for it to mention their given character name. It straight just mention it like that 😭 the intro message even only call himself 'Mark' but yhe response was 'Mark Benedetti ALPHA'. Godamnit it was frustrating, this is the first time the bot doing that. And if you're asking my prompt, i did 3 prompt that i kept switch in between to see which one works better, but of course none of them did 😭 and yes i try to play with the temp and token setting. Hey everyone, sorry for the long post, i bought myself the tudor black bay 39 for my 25th bday in seoul after a lot of dilemma.
I always wanted to get a watch for my 25th so i made up my mind to get one in seoul, i was thinking maybe grand seiko or even the omega seamaster. There was a mall right near our place and went inside to have a look. Right off the bat the mall had stores like vacheron constantin, patek phillipe, rolex etc. Which were wayy above my budget rn. So i wanted to leave, but somehow convinced myself to check out the first floor, just exiting the escalator there was an tudor ad and official retailer. I went in casually to look at some black bay 58s. But this piece caught my eye. I already had plenty or blues but this one just oozed class. However i wanted to check out grand seiko too. The customer service at the tudor store was top notch and the sales executive was very friendly and giving me suggestions and even let me kmow where the grand seiko store was. At the grand seiko store the salesman just ignored me even though i was there to buy some decently expensive watch. I waited for 15 mins and he still gave me a blind eye. Even though i liked grand seikos I just didn't want to buy from there. the executives at vacheron constantin and patek phillipe and breguet gave me more attention and chatted with me even though they knew i was there just to look at the watches. After looking at gs's this one looked even more appealing to me and just pulled the trigger. I could have gone with bb58,54 or even pelagos but this one just pulled me right in. I didn't get the bb58 cuz i already had a seiko prosepx save the ocean manta ray model and thus this beauty came into my possession.
Tldr: bought bb39 after much dilemma because of good customer service and its impressive dial and bracelet. Hence, customer experience plays a great role in buying of watches.
