2024.05.16 18:21 whatatimetobealive07 word of caution !!

ok so I don't wanna rain on ur parade but I feel that as a senior I should tell yall this
your 10th marks don't matter
whether you got 81 85 90 95
no one cares , I promise you
right now you're either rly happy or rly sad but in a few months irrespective of what stream you chose none of this will matter because 11th will drain the crap out of you and then 12th will make you question your entire existence and if you're in any science stream or preparing for exams other than boards - it's gonna be 10x worse
people who got ok marks in 10th can become toppers and people who topped 10th might fail
celebrate for like a week more then forget abt them ā¤ļø 11th and 12th is nothing like 10th
(p.s if you got rly crap marks they might matter šŸ¤” )

2024.05.16 18:15 Parso_aana Got only 30 minutes for Maths cuet exam šŸ«

The invigilators at our center can't manage shit. The paper was tough and lengthy STILL I would have scored 180+ if I had gotten the whole time (I consider myself pretty good at maths and also got 100 in boards so the rant is genuine). Guess what? I'm not scoring 150 šŸ˜‚.
I don't even know how to react to their incompetence and the fact that my whole year got wasted because of it. Some of you wouldn't care about it and treat it just as another exam, not me. I studied the whole year so that I could be a good core in CUET. All my efforts were wasted because of their incompetence.
I reported at the center on time. The line was huge. So they must have made the process a little faster by sending groups of students for checking at once and making the whole process speedy because that's the obvious route (anyone would have thought of it as common sense, especially the fucking school authorities which are required to manage students) right? NO. They proceeded even slower.
They were in a severe shortage of personnel. They shouldn't have been considering that they must have been informed about all the particulars a week ago. Boys and Girls were in the same line. Had to stand next to guys in such humid weather (sorry but it stinks because everyone was sweaty). Exams were supposed to start at 5:15 and most of us still didn't get done with our initial bullshit till 15:20. Wait, it's not over yet.
Then we were sent to get done that bio-metric shit which again took so long. We got done with their BS at 15:35. Finally got to the class and started the paper. That's what you thought? No. When we arrived, the paper and OMR were lying on our tables. They made us go through their BS formalities which took another 5 minutes. Then after that, they kept coming again and again for parents' names, then for signatures, and again to check if we filled question paper and the OMR sheet. And then finally for their stamp bullshit which is not even relevant on question paper lol. But they weren't done yet. Examiners didn't know that there was a concept of concentration. Which is needed to attempt competitive exams. They were talking to each other so loudly. They were making jokes and having fun with other kids, basically disturbing us again and again.
Anyway, then finally the paper ended and we weren't given extra time. I am mostly respectful and don't use profanities at all but.. NTA KI MAA KA BHOSDA 5 BAAR.

2024.05.16 18:14 Fast_Way_1449 Recent Booster Updates

Booster is getting a little ridiculous with all of their updates. For the past 2-3 days theyā€™ve been removing questions from their practice exams because the answers are ā€œout of dateā€. What is the point of all these updates then? Itā€™s so frustrating when I take a practice exam, come back to review a few hours later, and anywhere from 5-13 questions are just gone from a single exam. Weā€™re paying so much money for a site like this just for them to constantly be updating and not having the website running properly

2024.05.16 18:14 seminolegirl05 What are my chances?

Hi there. Going into law has always been a "secondary" dream of mine but I had to pursue my "primary" dream of accounting. Ok so the facts.
  1. I'm in my mid-40s so I will be a non-traditional law student.
  2. I am a CPA and own a solo accounting practice.
  3. I graduated from a college in Tallahassee almost 20 years ago. You can probably figure it out by my username. šŸ˜
  4. Due to major health problems that almost killed me in my 20s, my GPA is abysmal from back then(2.2 or something).
  5. Hypothetically, I score between a 165 and 175 on the LSAT after many hours of studying. I'm used to studying for these kinds of test. The CPA exam was a real killer.
  6. Due to me having an elderly parent, I will likely have to attend FAMU law school BUT I would prefer to attend UF or FSU law school.
Accounting is great and all but I am bored out of my mind. I have always been one of those people who enjoyed analyzing and thinking things through and I enjoyed the business law classes I had to take for my major. Unfortunately for me, I don't feel like I am making a difference in people's lives. Law is a tool to make changes and I could very well start with my child's situation. He has special needs and I am finding a lot of problems in the system dealing with his care in my state.
Question: What are my chances of getting into any of these schools based on the above scenario?
Thank you for your insight. šŸ„°

2024.05.16 18:12 VariationUnlikely425 The only way to excel at CS p2 (pesudocodes)

I give my Olevels exams in may june series of 2021 the covid one in which our Cs olevels p2 paper was exempted and I was really happy cuz and I never touched a line if pesudocode .Then after completing Olevels when I entered into a hell hole (Alevels) I had to give a Csp2 consisting of pesudocode exams. Eventhough I worked really hard kept watching lectures again and again but the lines of code never really made any sense to me
Well so I gave my Csp2 with huge load of uncleared concepts and got an E
In 2023 when I decided to give Cs excel in which the CS p4 (practical) this pp consisted of python so I give my all to learn this language and learning python is really ez and I also developed an interest in this language meanwhile this was happening I also started to prepare for CS p2 and I don,t know how all the uncleared things became just super clear I was able to solve yearlies I was solving really critical thinking type questions
Writing 2 pages worth of pesudocode and it being correct I think it happened because I learned python and it made a clearer view for CsP2

2024.05.16 18:10 PlaneConfusion321 Experience Taking the Patent Bar

Hi All,
The posts in this group were immensely helpful to me while prepping for the exam, so I want to share my experience prepping and taking the test to help others.
Material I used: Patent Education Series, PLI Binder, past exams from 2002, 2003. I don't recommend PES, the material are like straight out of the MPEP so it's not very intuitive and hard to read. The questions in the exam simulator and quiz repeat a lot and explanations are not good. I studied on my laptop and the user interface is not very good, I can't enlarge the display of the questions. I ended up reading the PLI Binder and found it much easier to understand. I did pretty much all the questions in binder and some parts of 2002/2003 exams.
Prep time: I studied on and off during the past 6 month while working.
Exam: I took it in Manhattan. The MPEP search function is rudimentary, but I didn't experience any slowness or crash in terms of loading the chapters and searching for words. I felt like I searched about 40% of the questions, but not always finding things because the details are not easy to find so it took me longer. I finished both sessions with about 10min left.
I felt my morning questions were significantly harder than the afternoon ones. I had a lot of questions on the details of domestic/foreign priority. No AIA question. Some PCT but not a lot. A lot of reexamination and appeal. I got 6-7 questions on 800 which is weird (linking claims and double patenting, restriction).
2002/2003 exam: I recognized about 4-5 questions from 02/03 on the actual exam. It's worth doing because it gives you a sense of the difficulty level of the actual exam. The AIA questions can be ignored.
PLI questions: They are helpful in rehashing important concepts. Some 700/2100 questions have a lot of dates in them, the actual exam is simpler.
Practicing lookup is important and by the time of the exam I have a good sense of which chapter covers what. For instance, I know fax is in 502 because I frequently forget what can be faxed. You can see the chapter titles in the lookup. The consolidated guide 2019, OED (everything on ethics), PPH... are also available for search. I remember searching these chapters during the test: 100, 200, 500, 700, 800, 1200, 1800, 2100, 2200.

2024.05.16 18:00 ristst1978 question about testing center exams

In the practice exams, there have been questions related to recovery points in azure backups - daily, weely, monthly, and yearly - where they ask how many recovery points on a certain day. There's also questions where they ask you to start on monday the 15th, then step back 2 days, then count back a certain number of days, then go back to the previous 1st day of the week, then count how many day between one point and another. The only way I can do these is to write 1-15 horizontally then label each number with the day of the week. Does a testing center exam allow you the use of a temporary onscreen writing pad for these types of questions? Not sure how I can do these in my head!

2024.05.16 17:58 Alert_Pool8687 Ap bio FORM I

Idk what to do yā€™all Iā€™m just very disappointed in myselfā€¦.. MCQS were difficult and FRQs were okay but I got screwed up from the time very hard. I had to guess a lot of questions and I missed like 2 parts in frq. I really prepared and did so much practice just for this to happenā€¦.. those of you going into an ap exam, understand that no matter the difficulty, time and stress will always make it more difficult than practice tests on collegeboard. Like when I heard 15 mins left on the 40th multiple choice, I froze and sat for a long time thinking during the easiest question, because stress got the better of me.
Good luck yā€™all with any AP tests left if there is any and yā€™all in form O

2024.05.16 17:54 allmightybroz How i partly got rid of my social anxiety

Hello everyone,
I am gonna share my story about how i partly got rid of my social anxiety. I hope this will help someone. I will try my best to explain but i am not good at explaining things. (Probably because of SAD)
A quick backstory of myself
I had strick parents growing up, they weren't the biggest devils on Earth but they were strict. I was bullied as a kid, not physically more like mentally. Also wasn't the worst bullying in the world, but it did exist. Had cruel teachers and colleagues in school. My mom was shy and had social anxiety. I was naturally shy and didn't talk much.
Everyone always told me i was quiet and didn't talk, but when i talked , they would: ignore me, disturb me, mock me or didn't listen. I was stuck in a magic loop. Be quiet or get ignored.
So yeah, i was doomed from start to have a social anxiety.
The lore
My country is a part tourist country and during school summer break it is normal for teenagers to get a part time summer job. Everyone in my class was getting one ( except maybe a few students it depended on the year) and me. I never tried to get a summer job because of my social anxiety. One year i didn't really need a job, the other year i was close to apply but just quit. But this one year my friend from highschool, said he was gonna apply to some job in a camp and asked me if i wanted to join. I applied. I had no idea what the job is about and what i am gonna do, but still applied because i didn't know what to do at home. I just didnt want to stay at home doing nothing if i had an opportunity to go work. I wasn't lazy or afraid of work, i was afraid of people and social interactions.
Later i find out the job is like pool guard/ cleaner. So in the morning i am supposed to clean pools and later when the pool opens i am supposed to watch over guests and if someone asks me something i am supposed to answer them the most nicest way possible. Also sometimes I am supposed to come over some guests and tell them something.
The job as you can guess is pretty opposite of my personality and because i had social anxiety it was really a pain to do it. So i was supposed to talk to strangers, which was painful for me because i couldn't talk to people until i met them and i get comfortable. Also i got nervous when someone asked me questions ( especially if i didnt know the answer to). I needed to approach some random people and tell them things, which was also painful for me just thinking i needed to approach someone. Also i was meeting some new people every single day. ( Which was also problem for me)
I had no problem working, for me it was okay to work because i was already working something at home. I had just some invisble fear of people and i was always a little stiff. It was pain to work but everyday it was a little bit easier. I was getting a little bit comfortable every day.
First day was horrible for me, before the day even started I was stressed and nervous. On first day i met like 5 people. Everyone told me and saw i was scared and frightened (which some people also told me over the years). Which i was, it was a very new experience and i didnt know what to expect. I was constantly nervous and stiff. After the first day ended I was a little bit relieved, it was a lot easier for me because i checked my enviroment and surroundings.
I was reading a book "Atomic habits" by James Clear ( which isn't really about social anxiety , but had to do with developing habits but i am sure it can help in other ways) and in that book he said that if we want to make a change, we first need to start by changing our mentality and thinking.
So basically every time a guest wanted to ask me something or I needed to approch someone I would just say to myself : Okay , dont be scared be as nice as possible.
It took some time, after a month or so i was feeling a little bit better. And after another 2 months I was even better. I still sometimes feel a little bit "scared" in social situations. Like when there are a lot of people, but i am a lot better in situations when there are less people like maybe 3 or 4 people. Before i was "scared" even with that. And also i dont know how to intialize or keep the conversation going but we are getting there.
A little side story of experience before i got the job and after i got the job
3 or 4 years ago (before i got this job) I was pulled over by police. It was just some random road check, they wanted to see my drivers license and my car license. But when they pulled me over i completely froze and was half paralised I could barely move. I stopped the car and i didnt pull the parking brake and the officer told me to show him my drivers license, i quickly as i could pulled out a drivers license because i thought he would kill me if i didnt show it in under 2 seconds. And i just lost control forgot i didnt hold no brake and my car went backwards a few meters, and i showed him my drivers license and car license, he asked me if i was okay. And after it was over my friends teased me a little for my car going backwards.
A few months ago i was stopped by police because i crossed the red light. Basically i was late for class and was in a hurry to get on time to start writing exam. And traffic light was about to turn green but it took forever to turn green. I had no patience for light to turn green i was trying to get to the class to write a test as quickly as possible. So i crossed it at red and after a few seconds it turned green. And they jumped me out of nowhere. I was a little bit surprised but after a few seconds handled the situation calmly. Also the officers were nice to me and asked me were i was going, i said i was latte for the exam and that's why i crossed the street. And they asked me what i was studying and we talked for some minutes.
So anyway thats about it. Before I used to have this uncomfortable feeling in every social situation where I would feel my body temperature rise and my body becomes half paralised and stiff where i could barely move. Sometimes i would shake a little and sometimes when i talked i would mumble.
Now i rarely get that feeling, i get it in rare occasions when i enter a room for example but even then it is not as painful as it used to be. Only big problem now is i don't know how to intialize conversation with someone, like if i wanted to meet someone what would i tell them or how to get close with someone. I also don't know how to explain things with people understand me or how to express myself.
Thanks for reading.
Sorry for bad English

2024.05.16 17:50 ozigiri Appeals Assistance and Questions

Hello everyone, so I just got my results. I did not fail as bad as I assumed (50% or so I expected), yet I still failed by around 5 questions.
The issue now is since the actual exam responses are not posted yet, is there a ā€œquestions to protestā€ thread somewhere? I cannot find anything here regarding that.
I hope someone can assist me and at this point am even considering paying a dedicated attorney on Custom Law to assist me with the appeal process rather than retaking this whole exam.
Also, is it valid to request exam response corrections due to how laggy the Test-Taking site computers were? Just considering this as well since this was one of the mayor annoyances from my testing site.

2024.05.16 17:49 kassafrass895 Passed AT/AT/T!!!

Just found out I passed AT/AT/T!!!
So beyond proud of myself and so grateful for the resources this sub led me to.
Don't be like me and wait so long to take the exam, I had until June 7th to take and pass or else I would have had to reapply. I finally buckled down the beginning of April and booked it for 15 May. Unfortunately there weren't any in person slots left near me in the timeline I had left, so I had to opt for online. I would not recommend taking online unless it's your last resort, I had completed check-in and was waiting for the proctor to review my pictures, never got a chat or any notification they would be calling me, (once you get to this point in check-in it is recording you and says you must follow all exam rules, so I felt I could not answer my phone until they gave me a notification that they were calling, it's very confusing) and when I didn't answer, all the sudden the window closed and said it was complete. I was a hysterical mess thinking I just wasted $400 and tried to call the number back and no luck. I tried the check-in process again after calming down and had success this time, the proctor reached out via chat and then did a video call vs calling my phone. I needed to prove monitors were unplugged (I then lost internet connection while moving my laptop to show the cord and was about ready to give up at this point, but luckily the ethernet cord got set straight and reconnected) and I was able to start my exam.
Definitely take both breaks and get up to stretch in the very least. I had good timing and never felt rushed, I did utilize the flagging and had plenty of time to go back and review. If I felt I was spending an excessively long time on a question I picked an answer and flagged to keep moving.
After taking the test I felt pretty good about it, but not great, it also sucks that when you take online you have to wait 24-48 hours to find out your results. I had already told myself if I failed I was retaking in a test center bc of how awful this experience was taking online.
My study plan/resources:
I had already watched some of the AR Udemy course at that point, but restarted it and also focused on the mindset portion this time. I also used Study Hall (essentials) and did all practice mini exams and 1 full length exam (73% on the full length and average of 76% on all exams). I read about the DM videos on this sub and highly recommend. I'm convinced that those and Study Hall are what prepared me the best and got me 2 AT's. I unfortunately didn't have time to watch the DM videos in full, but watched a good portion of each (200 Agile, 100 waterfall, 150 PMBOK).
I was not religiously studying everyday as I probably should have, and should have had more of a plan other than taking practice questions and exams, but it ended up working for me. Once you start getting a feel for the questions in Study Hall and get consistent results in the 70s you should be good. I have a few years experience as a Program Manager and felt I had a basic understanding going into this, but getting into the mindset is the most important part in my opinion.
Hilarious sidenote- the photo you submit during check-in pops up when you take breaks and my photo was a HOT MESS after initially not getting through check-in, we are talking very obvious I had cried and was barely holding it together. It made me laugh so hard when I got to my first break and helped relieve some stress. I wished I had been able to save it bc it's that hilarious of a photo. Today it popped up when I clicked to look at my exam report, huzzah!

2024.05.16 17:47 blushinqxrose Will i get disqualified if my phone goes off during the exam but no one heard?

I was sitting my GCSE exam and 1 hour and 15 minutes in my mum called me 4 times (my phone was on silent but it was buzzing). She assumed I completed my exam as it was the end of the day, however the exam started at 1:30pm but ended about 3:20 and I usually finish school at 3:05.
The invigilator was in front of me facing forward towards the other students and I donā€™t think she turned around and all the other invigilators were at the very front and the other at the very back.
Im really paranoid and at the end of the exam I missed one 5 marker question and didnā€™t finish the 12 marker. Will I get disqualified even though no one heard or not?
Iā€™d appreciate any answers

2024.05.16 17:46 kuw7612 HAS ANYONE HAD ISSUES WITH YOUR PROCTOR DURING YOUR EXAM?

BLUF: I had a new proctor that was not familiar with the GMAT testing procedures (specifically whiteboard usage) causing me to cancel my exam mid-exam during the first 20 minutes. She interrupted my exam multiple times during the first section because I was moving around too much while writing/erasing the whiteboard, and then during the last interruption, she asked me to position my laptop camera so that she can see the whiteboard as I am writing. I told her that that basically made zero sense as there is no way for me to move my camera and see the questions at the same time. Even though she checked the front and back during the check in.
I scheduled my exam for 8:00PM, began check-in at about 8:05, the proctor added me to a zoom meeting where she said she needed "2 minutes" to read through the exam because she was not familiar with it. She then placed me on hold.
At about 8:30, and almost 30 minutes (way more than two) and not getting a response, I left and tried to relaunch and was reassigned to the same proctor, where she answered, did not realize I was the same person, and again greeted me and said pls give me 2 minutes while I read the instructions.
At about 8:45, she finally started checking me in. At this point, I had been waiting for about 45 minutes in an empty room with my computer in a lockdown browser. I have testing anxiety and just sitting waiting for that long drove me insane.
Once she finally got me checked in (including making me scan my room almost 10 times because I was going to fast, not angling the camera so she can see everything, not doing a continuous circle, etc. after each scan she had another issue, made me move my desk to another side of the room because she said I couldn't be near another chair, amongst other things), she didn't realize she need the test code so she put me on hold again to get the code. Once, I finally went to start the exam and verify my name, the system crashed so I had to completely restart.
At this point, my anxiety/irritation is through the roof as it was 9:00PM and had been an entire hour.
FINALLY, once I am in the exam and begin, I start off with Quantative Reasoning as it is my strongest subject, and began using my whiteboard. She stopped my exam and asked me what I was doing because I was moving around too much. I never left my seat and said I was simply writing on the whiteboard. She said okay.
She then interrupted me again, and asked me to position my laptop camera so that she can see the whiteboard as I am writing on, which make absolutely no sense. Because of my frustration with her lateness, putting me on hold, and interrupting me multiple times, I asked if there is anyone I can have a different proctor or reschedule my exam.

2024.05.16 17:44 NatHammond1 I've worked as a volunteer exam invigilator for the last 3 years. AMA.

I've seen a couple of post about invigilator shenanigans (squatting in the exam hall, standing next to students who are likely to go to prison etc.) on here which made me chuckle. It made me wonder if there is any questions people have about the worlds most exciting job?

2024.05.16 17:41 SpotAggravating9466 Exam in 5 days

Hey Guys, I have been studying Rita Mulcahyā€™s CAPM Exam Prep book, watched JPā€™s Udemy videos. Scored 78% in Pocketprep, did 800 questions. But have been scoring not more than 60% in prepcast quiz and CAPM simulator. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Study techniques that yield results in academic studies
Cramming the night before might get you by in high school, but college demands a more strategic approach. Here are some effective study techniques to boost your academic performance:
Study habits
  • Active Engagement: Ditch passive reading. Take notes, highlight key points, summarize in your own words, or create concept maps. Engage with the material by asking questions and explaining it to yourself or a study partner.
  • Spaced Repetition: Don't try to cram everything in one go. Break down information into manageable chunks and revisit them regularly using spaced repetition techniques like flashcards or spaced repetition apps. This reinforces learning and promotes long-term memory.
  • Practice Makes Perfect: Focus on practicing application, not just memorization. Solve practice problems, analyze case studies, or write practice essays. This helps solidify understanding and prepare you for exams.
  • Prime Location: Find a quiet, well-lit study space with minimal distractions. Turn off notifications on your phone and avoid multitasking. A focused environment optimizes information absorption.
  • Time Management is Key: Create a study schedule that works for you. Allocate time for different subjects and stick to it as much as possible. Factor in breaks to avoid burnout.
  • Find Your Groove: Experiment with different learning styles. Some people learn best visually with diagrams and mind maps, while others prefer auditory methods like lectures or study groups. Discover what works best for you and stick with it.
  • Seek Help When Needed: Don't be afraid to ask for clarification! Utilize office hours to discuss challenging concepts with professors. Teaching assistants and study groups can also be valuable resources for understanding and peer support.
  • Prioritization is Crucial: Focus on the most challenging material first. Utilize the Pomodoro Technique, studying in focused 25-minute intervals with short breaks, to maximize productivity for difficult topics.
By implementing these techniques, you can transform your studying from a chore to an effective way to master new information and achieve academic success. Remember, consistency is key. The more you actively engage with the material, the better you'll retain knowledge and perform on exams.
