Hi, 25M and 82KG relatively healthy. Through my childhood up until 17 I was 114KG.
Dec 2021 I experienced taste and smell disturbance where everything tasted rotten. No explanation after going to ENT they couldn’t find a cause for it.
Fast forward about July 2022 I experienced the most painful pains in my back (middle back pain) but it was almost like nerve pains. These pains lasted days where I would experience severe headaches also. By this point the taste and smell difference had practically disappeared. Every food and every chemical tasted/smelled the exact same. All had the exact same rotten taste and/or smell. Now I notice the only thing that I cannot have due to the taste is mango flavoured things although I’m able to eat a fresh mango. Very random, I know.
CT/MRI of my head revealed nothing. X-ray of my spine, 2 chest X-rays also revealed nothing. Currently waiting for MRI with contrast of my neck to come back as well as a stool sample.
January 2022 I started to have blood test after blood test and everything seemed okay.
15th July 2023 my bloods showed everything being in range and all okay and then 31st July 2023 a spike on some things including:
AST went to 109u/l ALT went to 169u/l ALBUMIN dropped from 45 to 41 g/l TOTAL PROTEIN dropped 73 to 68g/l CRP dropped 4 to 2mg/l MCHC 346g/l RDW 13.8% to 14.3% LYMPHOCYTES 3.4 - 10*9L EOSINOPHILS dropped 0.2 to 0.1
By 22nd Sept 2022 these had all practically gone back to normal levels although once everything returned, my BILLIRUBIN started to creep up and hasn’t stopped.
31st July 2023 21 µmol/L 17th August it dropped to 16 µmol/L 4th Sept 27 µmol/L 22nd Sept 25 µmol/L 31st Oct 32 µmol/L 1st May 2024 39 µmol/L 6th May 2024 42 µmol/L
My first noticeable symptoms Dec ‘22/Jan ‘23:
inflamed lymph nodes in my neck and one behind my right ear which have not got bigger nor have they gone down. They’re not huge but I can feel them and couldn’t before.
Dry mouth and left side of my tongue feels odd to the point I had my wisdom tooth removed but it made no difference
Taste and smell differences (as mentioned above)
I also get a rash on the left of my chest that doesn’t itch but presents in the same place everytime. This started a day after my MRI of my head
Middle of 2023 I noticed my neck and back muscles are tense, my neck feels quite solid on the sides and I have shoulder pain both sides but only really when pressed. I have middle and lower back pain but the middle pain feels more like nerves
Occasional blood in stool
Extreme fatigue which came on suddenly Feb 2024 and I’ve never experienced anything like it. I wake up and I’m okay for about 1 hour and then I notice my eyes get so tired and I just want to sleep. As the evening comes I feel so exhausted and then when I’m in bed I seem to be okay although still tired, it’s comfortable laying down and resting and that’s all I seem to want to do. Work is horrific and I notice I have to constantly sit down and rest. I get lightheaded/dizzy spells which are difficult to explain. I’ve had pressure in the back of my head on my occipital nerves although 4 optician appointments and nothing.
1st Oct 2023 I noticed my poo was different, sometimes finding undigested food and what looked like mucus. Stools were looser than normal and by November I was finding that my stools had what looked like colour was leaking from them. Almost every bowel movement had an orange colour around it. Throughout this I noticed every so often my stool was flat/ribbon like.
Now almost every bowel movement has undigested food and the last 3 weeks I’ve been extremely constipated, so suddenly! My poo is dry, what I would describe as grainy.
My urine is darker than usual, I force myself to drink loads of water and this makes it a normal colour although in the morning it is really orange!
My vision has been getting worse the last 6-12 months and I often find myself rubbing my eyes to focus on whatever it is I’m looking at. (After opticians there was no significant difference in vision)
I also have experienced acid reflux which was originally diagnosed as GERD with my first visit to the Dr. Medication did not improve this and so I stopped taking it. ENT checked my throat and after a visual inspection said he doesn’t thing it’s throat cancer although I’ve said all along I’ve got symptoms of Pancreatic Cancer but the answer my Dr had to all of these results was ‘pancreatic cancer usually involved diarrhoea not constipation’
I’ve changed my diet to only drinking water and some squash here and there, eating more fruits and veg with more health proteins and cooking more than I was. Haven’t really been eating a lot of sugar the last 2 weeks although I’ve not noticed any difference yet.
My Dr has said they won’t rule it out but also are not ordering more scans etc until the other one is done. I’m booked for ultrasound on my liver which was an urgent referral and a 2 week wait but it’s not with contrast?!
I don’t know what else to do because no matter what I say to them they just aren’t phased. It seems I tell them one thing and they order scans for a different organ. What’s your thoughts?

I really need to get this off my chest.
10 years of diarrhea and frequent urination. Seborrheic dermatitis. 10 fucking years.
17 different doctors. I kid you not, i counted.
8 years years of "You are imagining things", "Take this useless pill and gtfo", "Its because you drink coffee on an empty stomach mate, stop dat and gtfo". 0 tests. 5 minutes and out the door. Ok i said, its what it is. Ill live with it.
Queue 2 years ago - Rapid deterioration of symptoms. I now cant leave my house. I live in constant pain and bloating. "Ok" i figure, time to stop going to different doctors. Pick the best one and stick with him.
So i open the website with the doctors, pick the best GI one based on reviews and queue an appointment. Its online trough the phone because he now works in some fancy hospital in UK. Great i figure - he's too good for my shithole country, he might actually solve the case.
We make the video call, he listens to me for an hour and a half. An hour and a fucking half, that's more than the 13 before him combined. He says "Let me think this trough and ill get back to you". Great.
He writes back after a day - "I want to call a forum in the ultra famous university hospital in London. I want to invite leading doctors in all the relevant fields - allergologist, dermatologist, whatevergist (4 more). It will cost you 5k though - do you want to do it?"
"Sure" i say. Maybe finally we get somewhere. 5k is like 2 monthly salaries in my shithole country, but im ok on money, i can afford that easily. He gives me his own fucking personal Revolut. No red flags there, huh?
Anyway, the "forum" passes. He gets back to me.
"Its all stress related OP. Its IBS-D due to stress. The forum is unanimous and the diagnosis is certain. Here is your treatment":
  1. Shitty antidepressant/sedative - Deanxit
  2. Even shittier antihistamine - Ketotifen - but this is just to help with your allergies OP, you can not take it if you want.
  3. Cut out all stress from your life if you can.
Great. I take the pills. All of them. Allergies suck.
Deanxit immediately transforms me into a fucking sloth. Im sleepy all the time. I can barely think. Im a programmer, i kinda need to think.
But. Lo and behold. For the first time in 10 years im ok. Every fucking symptom disappears.
Shit i figure. My stress was really killing me. Time to solve that.
Team lead in a billion dollar company at 30? Doing a great job at it? Hahaaa not any more boss. I quit.
But why do you quit he says? - "I cant handle the stress. Its literally killing me"
Take 3 months off then. We'll find you a replacement team lead. We will demote you back to senior and you can take it easy. We'll take you off supporting the most important website in the company.
Queue me taking 3 months off. - God bless that man for not letting me go. But im no longer a team lead. Im no longer in charge of my website. Im just another programmer now.
Queue me cutting ties with half my family because they stress me out.
Ketotifen disappears from the pharmacies. "Its ok" i think. Its for my allergies anyway. I just get another antihistamine.
5-6 days pass. Symptoms start to slowly reappear. Im now back at work tho and getting stressed again.
Symptoms progress ever so slowly, but progress anyways.
Im constantly in contact with the doctor trough the app. Every single month i pay to have access to him.
Every time i tell him its getting worse he just says its due to stress. Keep at the treatment. No changes.
Symptoms progress to basically no treatment levels. I go to a urologist for the frequency. He says its due to stress also. Here's this sedative, good luck programming on it. Great, fuck that. Second opinion. Go to second urologist - its stress mate, go to a psychiatrist. You are depressed.
I go to another GI doctor for a second opinion. "Its IBS-D due to stress mate, go to a psychiatrist".
"Ok" i figure. "Time to dive in the deep". I go to a psychiatrist. I tell him my symptoms. I tell him im a bit under the weather, which is understandable being unable to leave my house and in constant discomfort. "The body symptoms are psychosomatic which means you are SEVERELY depressed. Here are these 2 HEAVY antidepressants. Take one in the morning the other in the evening. "
I try. I fail. Too many side effects. Queue arguments with the wife because i refuse treatment.
I try with a different psychiatrist. Same diagnosis. Another treatment. Same result. Cant keep at it.
More arguments with the wife. Now she is properly mad and wants to leave me because im constantly mad and in a bad mood. This has been going on for 2 years. I dont leave the house. Im 32. Everyone is telling me im insane. Sad.
I start reading up the internet for rare diseases. I basically turn myself into a mini Gastroenterologist. I read everything concerning IBS.
I do every test i can think of. Microbiome. Full blood panel. Histamine. Zonulin.
Lo and behold - histamine twice the range (while im on Ketotifen again). Zonulin 25x.
I figure it must be a food allergy and the histamine is causing all the problems. Im now a fucking internet doctor. But i know its bad to self diagnose and self treat. So i go to an allergologist. I tell him my stomach troubles and that i think its food allergies. He is unimpressed. "Go to a GI doctor he says. There are plenty of tests that can be done. Check enzymes, check for parasites, check for more stuff".
By now i have figured out the UK doctor has basically scammed me and is just milking me for money every month. He refuses another call. He refuses to rethink the diagnosys. He insists that its correct.
Ok. I start an elimination diet because i'm now a doctor. I suspect allergies. I suspect the Ketotifen fixed me the first time. Meanwhile i queue an appointment with doctor #17.
I go to the new doctor. By that time EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY SYMPTOMS IS GONE. I tell her my test results. I tell her i seem to be able to control the condition 100% by food. "You have enterities" she says. "But whats causing it?" i ask.
"I dont know. Here's some enterol and an anti-diarrhea med".
OK. Diet continues. Now enterol added. anti-diarrhea? Why? Whatever. Not taking it. I don't have it anymore.
Im now at the point where i can eat quite a selection of items. I sit down and think. What have i eaten basically every day of my life for the past 10 years? Pork. Its pork.
I eat some pork day 1.
Day 2 is a little bad. Eat some more.
Day 3 is quite bad. Eat some more. It might be a fluke.
Day 4 is back to all the symptoms. I schedule an appointment with doctor #17. I go. This is today.
I tell her my findings. I ask if it sounds correct. She says yes. It sounds like an allergy. But. But.
Why are you coming to me? Im a GI. Go to an allergologist. "But he sent me to you.". Crickets.
She proceeded to scold me for 20 fucking minutes for self diagnosing and asking treatment questions.
Sister. 17 of you failed. I killed my career, cut ties with my family, Lost 100k+ in salaries. Lost untold amounts in options packages that i now woun't get because i'm no longer a manager. I no longer have friends. I almost separated with my wife. I could have retired at 40. I lost 2 years of my life. All of that because of your lot's wrong diagnoses.
And i get scolded for 20 minutes. For self diagnosing. CORRECTLY. Fuck this country and its healthcare man.
Anyways, PSA - If you have IBS-D, frequent urination and some rosacea go check your histamine in stool. And don't forget to always discuss with your healthcare professional. Unless you live in Bulgaria. Fuck this country.

I have been experiencing symptoms such as fatigue, depression, trouble concentrating, loss of muscle mass, low sex drive, difficulty achieving and maintaining an erection, and weak bones for a long time.
I am 28 years old, 1.86 meters tall, and weigh 72 kilograms.
I started to think that it could be related to my testosterone levels and got some "basic" tests done by my lab. However, I'm not sure how to interpret the results or if I should really visit an endocrinologist. During my last urology visit, the doctor mentioned that the problems with erectile dysfunction are probably temporary and that I should relax.
Here are the results:
Albumin: 46.6 g/l (Spectrophotometry) Free testosterone: 35.87 pg/ml (CLIA) FAI (Free Androgen Index): 94.06% Total Testosterone: 566.13 ng/dl (CMIA) SHBG: 20.88 nmol/l (CMIA) FSH: 4.40 mIU/ml (CMIA) LH: 3.72 mIU/ml (CMIA) Estradiol: 35.14 pg/ml (CMIA) Prolactin: 12.59 ng/ml (CMIA) DHEA So4: 175.30 ug/dl (CMIA)
In theory, all values are within range, but converting Free Testosterone from pg/ml to ng/dl (which is widely used) gives 3.5869 ng/dL, which falls below the range of 5.05-19.8 ng/dL for individuals aged 25 to under 30 years (according to Mayo Clinic). However, other sources suggest a wider range, such as 32-168 pg/mL for individuals aged 18 years and older. Therefore, it appears that I may have low levels or be below average depending on the sources.
What's interesting to me is that when I calculate free testosterone from Albumin,a SHBG, and Total Testosterone, I get 14.5 ng/dL, which doesn't match my lab results.
Should I be concerned about this? If so, what additional tests would you recommend before visiting the doctor?

Longtime lurker, first time poster. Apologies for the length but this is a complicated story. I had an ER in 2013 at the age of 30, prior to an allogenic stem cell transplant for leukemia. I got 8 eggs (6 mature) that were frozen. A few months after the transplant I had not gotten my period, so my gyno put me on BC as a form of HRT, assuming that I had been put into premature menopause due to the chemotherapy. I was later diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2018 and went through another round of chemotherapy. Free of disease since. All this time, I had not gotten a period and remained on BC. After 7 year, out of nowhere I got a period in March 2020 and continued to have a monthly cycle (still on the BC). In 2022, my husband and I consulted with REI, planning to fertilize and transfer the frozen eggs. We did all the preliminary testing and were ready to go with my next cycle in 2/2023 when I get a call to tell me that they had missed that I was sensitizes for the D antigen and had antibodies. The plan shifted to have a PGT-M probe created to possibly select an Rh- embryo. My husband’s blood type is A+. I was born with B+ blood but after SCT, my Blood type is O-. Everyone initially assumed I was sensitized due to the SCT, but review of my medical records showed that I had been sensitive prior to the SCT. Turns out I have an inherited D variant so while a normal B+ blood type would not create D antibodies, mine did, which would likely result in the antibodies attacking the red blood cells of any Rh+ fetus I carried. The problem was that due to the SCT, Cooper Genomic could not get sufficient isolated DNA from me to create the probe. Ultimately, we were only able to because Dana Farber, where I have my SCT, had my frozen retained DNA from 2013 that could be used. Thank god I consented to allow them to use my DNA for research. But all of this took forever, and the probe wasn’t ready until 2/2024.
On 4/12/2024 we moved forward to fertilize. 6 out of 8 survived the thaw, 3 fertilized and none made it to blast. I always knew that could happen, but I am so angry that every medical professional involved made it seem like only a minute possibility and that no one ever even mentioned that it might be a good idea to see if we could get any additional eggs first seeing as how I was 40+ and been through chemo. I am angry that my gyno just assumed I was infertile and never investigated at all. I am angry at myself for only now being informed enough to know that I could have done more and now it might be too later. We are moving forward with egg retrieval and are just waiting on insurance clearance. When they last checked my AMH in 10/2022 it was 0.2. Last FSH in 4/2023 was 4.28 but prior to that on 9/2022 it was 30. No idea what my AFC is yet but assume low.
Not sure if I am looking for advise or just ranting but I knew that those in this group could empathize. With all I have been through medically I have never been one to feel “why me” or “life’s not fair” but this has really taken me down in a way I have never experienced.
Ironically, during all this I spontaneously got pregnant in 9/2023 but we ended up having to TFMR around 13 weeks to due chromosomal abnormalities. It took 12 weeks afterwards, but my period did come back.

I've been with Myheritage for a year because I wanted to obviously trace my heritage. It cost £78 for a full year with the complete plan. I absolutely loved the app, and it helped me connect with family half way around the world.
But unfortunately, all the things I loved about Myheritage are completely tarnished and it's only been the last few days which have been a nightmare.
I knew of an automatic renewal but I thought at the very very least they would email me when the money was coming out of my bank account. However, I was given no warning and bang £229 came out of my account. Which I unfortunately could not afford at this particular time.
So I figured it would be no hassle to contact them, which I was surely mistaken as there was one number I could call, and that one number was automated. It asked me to record a short message to which I did explaining I wanted a refund as I was given no prior warning. I also read they have a 30 day money back guarantee.
I missed one call and had to wait 4 days for another, at a random time (I was given no time frame of when they would call) they phoned around about 1.30pm to which I almost missed again.
The woman said I agreed to another year at FULL PRICE if I had not cancelled my "automatic renewal" before the money came out and she resent the email I apparently agreed to that on.
The email reads "You were charged £65 + £13 VAT and received a 65% discount for the first year. Thereafter you will be charged annually if you keep the subscription."
To which I replied, "well I don't want another year so can you cancel my subscription and refund my money".
She replied, "no but we can offer you half price for the year" and "my manager said I can offer you some free DNA tests" and "what we can do is give you 6 months free"..... I said "no, I don't want another year and I have read your policy about a 30 day money back guarantee. I want my money refunded" After another rather pathetic attempt at trying to make me settle for half price she rudely said, "Fine, you'll be refunded the full money." And hung up.
Why do they make it so hard to get a refund and why are the people who work for them so rude? It's completely unprofessional and the amount of comments I've seen regarding this issue is incredible. Ill forever ask people to avoid this company because of this incident.

  1. Currently running [MS SQL Server 2000 on Windows 2000 Server].
  2. Above as a VMWare Workstation guest on Ubuntu server host.
  3. All this for running a particular company app installed in the mentioned Windows 2000 Server.
  4. Active Directory has 8 users and 8 computers, excluding administrator, default system users, etc.
  5. Mentioned AD users work on AD computers running the mentioned app via shortcut from the server.
  6. This has been running fine with no changes or issues for past 20-odd years,
  7. Except implementing VMWare and a new Dell server 3 years ago.
  8. Been testing migration to [SQL Server 2012 on Windows 2016 Server] and looking pretty good.
  9. Have Windows 2016 Server ready to go.
  10. Need SQL Server 2012.
  11. Just as above, intend to run [SQL Server 2012 on Windows 2016 Server over VMware] for another 20 years.
  12. BTW, considered SQL Express initially but current DB size is at about 9.8 GB, thus given up.
  13. How does SQL license work? Does CAL usedevice refer to AD usedevice?
  14. What about CORE? Does this refer to processor core? Current VMWare option setting is at 2 processor cores.
  15. With above considerations, what is the best purchase option(s) for SQL Server?

2024.05.16 17:47 annie_banannie_123 DHEA supplementation caused my DHEA-S and total testosterone levels to skyrocket and I'm not sure where to go from here

I am seeking advice on supplementing with DHEA. Specifically, it would be helpful to know whether other folks who also have diminished ovarian reserve have found it helpful, and if so, what dose you would recommend given my situation (described below). How DHEA supplementation affected your AMH (especially if you took too much, like me) would also be helpful to know.
I started supplementing with 75mg DHEA per day about two months ago, and a recent lab test showed that this caused my DHEA-S and total testosterone levels to skyrocket. I reduced my dose to 25mg/day a couple days ago upon receiving my test results, but I'm worried this may still be too high. I haven't had any of the nasty side effects people talk about with DHEA (acne, new body hair, etc.). For reference, here is the test history:
March 13 (before DHEA supplementation):
May 9 (7 weeks after starting DHEA):
I started taking DHEA because my DHEA-S and total testosterone levels were previously on the low side and (my understanding is that) DHEA has been shown to help with aneuploidy (at least 1 of my 3 miscarriages was due to a genetic abnormality, though fetal tissue from the other 2 pregnancies was never tested). I was following the guidance on DHEA from It Starts with the Egg. They list the optimal DHEA-S level for fertility as around 180 mcg/dL and for testosterone around 25 to 45 ng/dL. They also say DHEA supplementation "may be helpful if your total testosterone is below 25 ng/dL [and your DHEA-S is over 90 mcg/dL but below 180mcg]," which was my situation pre-supplementation, hence why I started taking DHEA.
My RE, who I just started seeing in April, told me he doesn’t recommend DHEA and that he suggests I stop raking it given the change in my DHEA-S and testosterone levels. However, he also told me DHEA “is not associated with improving aneuploidy rates,” which I don’t think is true. Maybe it hasn't been tested directly but this study at least hints at aneuploidy reductions, noting that "DHEA supplementation improves pregnancy chances in women with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR), by possibly reducing aneuploidy." This more recent study also documents a number of benefits of DHEA. I generally like my RE and feel awkward being at odds with him on this. Though I clearly need to reduce my dose, I feel like there's good evidence DHEA could help me, so I would like to keep taking it (but in a smaller dose) and try testing my DHEA-S and testosterone levels again in a few months. I don't know whether he would mind if I told him I want to continue taking it, but I certainly need to tread carefully since he is the expert here.
Also, as I wrote in another post, my AMH dropped to 0.31 in May 2024 (it was 0.67 in December 2023). Could taking too much DHEA have played a role in this drop? I know DHEA is supposed to raise, not lower, AMH, but I’m wondering if the relationship can invert if one takes too much. Any information on this would be super helpful.

Reason 1: WC 23 Final defeat I know it’s been 6 months, but on hindsight I think this was the first domino on the series. Call it rigged or scripted, but still losing a WC final in home like that is definitely going to haunt you. And once it gets into your mind, you performance starts dipping.
Reason 2: Sudden captaincy change We certainly did not expect a “trade” between GT and MI. God knows how much Ambaniji paid for Hardik. Aside from that, you just can’t buy a player and then make him captain when the current captain is a 5-time IPL winner. MI management should have made this Rohit’s final season as captain. He would have got time to groom Pandya like Dhoni did for Kohli and then all would have been fine. This happened to Kohli in 2021 and remember for a few months he had a massive performance dip.
Rohit needs to quickly recover from this amid lead India properly in T20 WC.
For the delusional fans still calling him ‘intent’, ‘selfless’ and other crap, I will post his 2024 stats including IPL

Before are my numbers from April 6. My diet consisted of cottage cheese, 3 to 4 eggs at a time, cheese, big portions. I had surgery in February to remove a fibroid, and before my surgery, I was still consuming alcohol, big portions, and cheese and every now and then.
When I found out about these numbers, I completely changed my world in a matter of minutes. I began researching, and looking up foods to eat and not to eat, and decided to start counting my calories.
My doctor put me on 10 mg of Lipitor beginning April 10
I tested again, May 13, and I received my results with the green, flying colors. My diet has insanely improved since and before, then, eating very minimal, no red meat, no processed sugars, and counting my calories by the gram and eating maximum 1600 cal a day. I’m currently working with an nutritionist as she believes that I’m eating less than what I should, because , my main job is working at an airport so I’m always lifting luggage up to 20+ pounds, pushing heavy machinery and overall a very physical job.
I’m very happy with my results, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to celebrate with huge pizza or anything like that. This is a lifestyle for me now and I intend to keep it this way, and I hope you guys found some motivation from my results. Granted, everyone and every body different , and these are just my results
I use the Lose It! app and it helps me tremendously and I make conscious good choices, but occasionally will indulge in white bread or cheese.

I used to have constant problems sharing from youtube to Reddit using the app (probably prior to 8 months ago this used to be a super buggy process).
This morning I'm on the newest version of Reddit in the laptop version and the 'share' button from youtube is not populating anyting in Reddit. I tested it sharing from youtube to twitter, also browser, and that seems to work fine.
