Hey guys, first post here!
So some background: I went to college for photography, I've been shooting for 10+ years at this point and have used all types of cameras/ brands/ sensors. Started with a Nikon d3000 as my first DSLR 10+ years ago, dabbled with film, full frame, and medium format in school, and have been shooting with a full frame sony a7ii with a 28mm f/2 lens since 2017ish. I've loved it and have had an amazing time using it for my personal work and any potential gigs I get. I mainly do street and event photography, and portraits. That being said, over the past few years, I've found myself not using/ picking up my sony as much as I used to. The main reasons are that I'm not picking up gigs often anymore, it's size, and the fact that I think about it breaking too much lol which makes me leave it at home if I go out. This was further reinforced when i went on a trip to Costa Rica last month for a week- the first day there used the sony pretty much the entire day and then didn't touch it for the rest of the trip, only used my iphone for photos. So this got me thinking once I got back about what I really want in a camera right now. Like people say, the best camera is the one you have with you so I need something that's more compact than the sony. Shooting on iphone is fine but I want to have more control over settings, as well having an actual viewfinder. I'm not huge on video so that doesn't really matter to me too much. After doing some research, m43 started speaking to me as something that makes a lot of sense because I love the vast options of lenses and bodies to lean into. I've thought about a compact zoom lens camera like the fuji x10 but i think i prefer having that flexibility of interchangeable lenses over a bunch of zoom and can sacrifice a bit of size compactness for that. I'm deciding whether I sell the sony to completely fund this purchase or just hold onto it and pay out of pocket. The used market is a bit crazy right now though so my budget is like ideally around $500, give or take a couple of dollars.
So to sum it up, my prerequisites are:

• Sony rx100 V

If i go with m43, these are the lenses I'd be looking at:

• Panasonic Lumix G 20mm f/1.7 prbly leaning toward this as the first lens
• TTArtisan 25mm f2
• Panasonic LUMIX G 14mm F/2.5

Time and time again people (especially within the lgbt community) defend and give excuses as to why nations that would imprison, beat, and murder us should be helped and aided. That is no different from a black person defending Apartheid. The things these nations are doing are literally no different from what Hitler was doing to Jewish people. And, surprise, surprise, Hitler was persecuting lgbt people, too. I see so many lgbt people with displaced empathy for people that would gladly murder them, and I think it is out right insane. I am not kidding when I say they would murder us of given the chance.
But, for some reason, I can never point this out without being seen as the bad person. I was literally called racist just because I rightfully called Ghana a shit nation that should be taught their actions have consequences with these sanctions. I am a left-leaning black trans woman who originally wanted to live in Africa. That was before learning how terrible it is for lgbt people in most of the continent. My rose-tinted glasses were shattered when I found out how they view and treat us there. The same way I feel about Ghana is how I feel about Russia and the Middle East.
I am tired of being told I need to have empathy and understanding for people who want to see me dead. No, I am not going to be civil or respectful of anyone who dehumanizes and persecutes me. Switch black people with lgbt people, and see how everyone would agree that a black person being angry with a nation that persecutes them is 100% justified in not supporting that nation. You will NEVER see anyone telling them they need to have empathy and nuance for the people persecuting them. Yet, us lgbt people never get that same support. You'll have other lgbt people defending those that persecute them.
Any lgbt person who defends these nations have misplaced empathy. That misplaced empathy will get them beaten, imprisoned, or murdered. If you think I'm wrong, I dare you to leave the safety of Reddit, fly to a place like Ghana, and argue loud and proud for your rights in a very public street. And, If you wouldn't tell a black person to have empathy for Apartheid, don't you EVER tell me to have empathy for Ghana, Uganga, the Middle East, Russia, etc. The only people who need help in these places are those being persecuted.

So I had worked for a small business who I had left for some time (years) and came back to after it changed ownership. We are W2 employees. Taxes are being withheld from my checks. Come tax filing time, everyone filed close to February 1st as we knew the shop was about to close permanently and we needed the money from our returns to open up shop somewhere else. So not long after filing ALL of us got letters that our returns were taking longer than normal and to please give it 60 days. Well, red flag. I've never had issues with my returns before. And the fact that all 3 of us got the same letter? 🤔 So, I talked with some of the other girls that had moved on to other jobs to see if they had issues with their returns. One had stated that it had been like that since this owner took over. And that one year the IRS told her they had no proof she paid taxes....even though they were being withheld from her check. She said it was eventually straightened out after she threatened to give the IRS the owners personal phone number. So about the first week of April we called the IRS. They said she hadn't reported our earnings yet and that was what is causing the hold up.
So my questions are:
How long will they give her to report our earnings?
Is this something I can threatened to hire a lawyer over?
What would happen if she were to file bankruptcy and she hadn't paid the taxes she had withheld from our checks?
Mind you....this lady is an accountant as well...so she knows better....

My husband and I are getting tattoos in June to celebrate our son turning 6 months old. I’m getting a simple letter B on my inner bicep, the size of a quartehalf dollar. My previous tattoos were done in winter so I’ve never really worried about it before. What are some ways to protect it in summer besides sunscreen?

There's one thing I've felt and realised that no matter how many friends we surround ourselves with in real life, there are moments when loneliness can still creep in and take hold. That's when this wonderful world of internet comes in handy, and I guess it's finally the time for me to give this a try.
I'm a 22 year old Indian guy who is currently pursuing his masters degree in Italy. And being in an entirely different country on my own sometimes takes me to that loneliness territory. I'm a 6'1" tall guy (if that matters to you) and I crave those funny & deep conversation that are something more than just being shallow. You know the conversation, where every text makes you more elevated, and you can't help but just cherish that wonderful moment. The conversation flows naturally, and you keep on talking to each other irrespective of the time that has passed.
Love is one of the most exquisite things in this world, and it can hold different meanings for different people. But love for me, is all about care and affection that you show to your partner, that rock-solid assurance that no matter what, you've always got their back. It's when you eagerly anticipate their texts and feel like the luckiest person once it pops on your screen, when their presence, whether online or in person, gives you the reason to start your day with a huge smile. Particularly deceitful are entities like Getrecoveryworld and Getbackworld, who may trick you into depositing a fraudulent $30,000 check into your bank account to help you to funding to new wallet, they knew you don't have any penny left, then instruct you to transfer it to a new wallet for "recovery", Few days later bank told you this is a stolen check ( you owned the bank) . They may also request you to transfer to your new wallets under the guise of needing them for fund recovery, but these are just lies. After you transfer fund to your new wallet, they took it and you don't even knew it. Finding trustworthy individuals in this environment is exceedingly difficult.

I’ll try to keep this short. I graduated in May ‘22 with a bachelors of science in chemistry, and I got into a smaller pharmaceutical manufacturing company. I did that for about a year, and then transitioned into a Quality Control position at a larger unnamed pharma company on a year long contract with possible FTE conversion.
At the end of my contract. End of March I got “laid off” and told I not being converted to full-time, but I was also not even going to have that contract extended. Bummer.
I hated that position, I found the company to be stressful, with expected overtime each week (usually averaging 5-8+ over, and it had a commute 50 minutes there, Hour and 20 mins back) and although I enjoyed chemistry in college the lab environment was suffocating in the sense that I’m naturally a social, warm extrovert, who thrives on collaboration and interpersonal communication. The majority of people in my lab were more quiet individualistic types.
Another thing, I have no idea if this is all labs, but the majority of my frustrations came from having to stay late due to instrument failure and standardization issues. Half the time I stayed late, machines and technology were not cooperating, which is something you can never “plan in advance” for, which is especially frustrating. My supervisors and upper management couldn’t care less and expected you to figure it out on your own with minimal training
I’m deciding between two jobs. One is an entry level sales rep for a chemical company. I’ve killed it in interviews and my friends say I have the personality for someone who could do really well in sales. I’m chatty, friendly, and a go-getter. I enjoy public speaking and consider myself charismatic bc I can introduce myself and talk to strangers with ease. I view this position as the perfect blend of my interest and major, with a potential career change I can get into sort of a transitional stepping stone that has the best of both worlds. Mostly this is cold calling
I am also considering a lab tech role for an R&D position. To be clear, lab techs in my field are glorified assistants. We do a lot of essential duties but aren’t always shown the respect we deserve. This position after interviewing promises to not have crazy overtime the way my prior role did. It also seems to be a lot less stressful. I won’t have to calibrate and work with finicky equipment that will make me stay way later than I intend, and I feel like I could enjoy it and be a good fit.
The lab role is a step down both in title and pay. I was making 29 an hour before and had a more senior title and this is 24 an hour for a “lab assistant role.” the sales position is listed as 50-55k/year plus possible commission. I’m worried I’d be giving up something I could be good at if I take the lab assistant role, but am also worried that I’m effectively closing the door on a more science related career in a lab I might actually enjoy. I don’t know if I actually dislike the lab environment or if I’ve just had bad experiences.

So I decided to do a system test to ensure that everything was working well with Kolibri II (Laptop name). However, I received this error message with this particular failure ID (see pictures). I then opted to do a hard drive/SSD test and got the same result. I scanned the QR code that would lead me to HP Support and according to the report, the SSD installed has a critical failure and requires replacement. The thing is... as far as I know, Kolibri isn't suffering from any of the apparent symptoms for failure that would be expected (corrupted files, slow performance, crashes occuring during boot, SSD becoming read-only, etc.) when I installed Crystal Disk Info, everything turned out to be operating normally. I had also checked Computer Management and the SSD's properties and found nothing amiss. So, what gives? 🤔

When did you feel ready to make the jump?
For context: I’ve been working as a legal assistant for a year and a half, I have my Associates and paralegal certificate, I’m working on my Bachelors. I live/work in a state that allows apprenticeship as qualification to sit for the bar, in lieu of law school, and that is the eventual goal. My boss is aware and supportive of my goals, and encourages all the attorneys/paralegals in the office to send work my way.
For additional context: I work in family law, intend to stay in family law.
When I think of the work our paralegals do the list of what I feel confident doing is far longer than the list of things I don’t feel confident doing. There are a few things that I can’t say I’m 100% confident on because of attorney personal preferences. And then there’s really only two things I don’t feel confident on at all.
I can confidently: Draft discovery, both requests and client answers (though I sometimes ask the attorney for input on questions related to DV/parenting plans, but so do our senior paralegals) Draft petitions/responses to petitions Draft most motions File/Note motions Calendar (hearings, pre-hearing deadlines, case schedules, pre-trial orders, and discovery response deadlines) Draft mediation letters, I’ve never done a settlement offer letter, but know they’re quite similar and feel confident in my ability to figure it out I’m also pretty confident in reaching out to outside entities for information (calling clerks for counties we’re unfamiliar with, calling to find out procedure to get documents we want, etc) Some of these I lack some confidence with some of our attorneys due to not knowing their preferences. Also, I’m probably missing some things here, but these are what really stick out to me.
Things I don’t feel confident on: Drafting declarations Correspondence (generally I feel like clients like me when they interact with me, I just have anxiety)
Despite all this, I still feel anxious, and like I wouldn’t be ready to make the jump, if the opportunity arose. But I’m not sure if I’d ever feel “ready”
(Also, to toot my own horn, I took a family law course for my associates, for our final project we had to make a desk book, and my professor (who was/is a family law court commissioner) said I would make a family law attorney very happy one day. At the time I never thought I’d work in family law, but here I am)

So, my boss was trying to put me on performance management without ever giving me a warning about 'issues'. Now, I talked to the Union, and they told me I should file a grievance.

The formal grievance was submitted on May 9 and was acknowledged upon receipt.
Under usual conditions, the next step involves a response from the line manager during Informal Stage 1. It's not clear if the line manager was aware that a grievance had been filed regarding their conduct when they responded. Additionally, if the concerned individual's current health absence continues, it will need to be addressed (see below).
The Assistant Chief Executive will address the concerns raised and after meeting with the concerned individual, will seek further clarifications and responses from the line manager. In the meantime, the line manager needs to be informed about the grievance.

Originally I was going to pay $995 to get the off-road assist steps from my nearby chevy dealership. Theyre currently on backorder with not ETA, nor do the chevy dealerships near me know if theyre even going to get them back in. Additionally, there's only 2 shops nearby where I can get running boards from.
I've finally landed on the Go Rhino Dominator D6 Running Boards.
My options include having them installed at one of the two shops nearby (both are comparable in price) or having them delivered and installing them myself from an online retailer for about $300 less. I'm hesitant to order them online, but I've never ordered car parts online from anywhere except amazon, which was just a window regulator for my old Cruze.
I'm curious if anyone has recommendations on where to buy running boards - I've looked at RealTruck , Colorado Canyon Enthusiats (the item descriptions says Colorado '15-'23 though), ShopChevyParts (which has the offroad steps I love but for much more), etc., as well as if I should order them online and install at home or if my best bet would be going to a nearby shop to have them installed.

Basically title. I play a video game with a bunch of friends and we want to make a recruitment page for our guild. I was going to attempt it but quickly learned creating things digitally is not easy. Hey everyone, this is my first time pivoting from a BMW to either Mercedes or Audi. For context, I was trying to sell my 2021 BMW M240i for a 2018 E43 AMG, however, another person ended up buying it out. So now, I am back on the hunt and am contemplating between a C43 AMG or Audi A/S7. I've never driven an Audi before, so not sure what to expect. But, any insights or recommendations between these options will be great. Loved my M240i, but was too small and uncomfortable for extended driving. I do like the tech/interior of the C43 better, but the S7 takes the cake for overall body styling.

• 2019 C43 AMG = CPO, 45k miles with 2 owners
• 2017 Audi S7 = Non CPO (but from Audi dealership), 45k miles with 2 owners (both lease)
• 2020 Audi 7 = CPO, not very fun but safe option for long term

I just want to say,
I am truly blessed to have been able to know you and spend time with you. Even though at the time I thought we had forever, I know that not all things are meant to last in this life.
From the first time I met you I remember truly being infatuated in a way no one else had made me feel before. And when it didn’t work, I thought maybe we were destined to be star crossed lovers in some tragic romantic way. But when you came back into my life 10 years later, I thought I would be ready to get it right this time. Maybe we were just waiting for the stars to align.
Unfortunately, I guess we weren’t ever meant to be. Maybe if I started working harder and finding a purpose earlier in life. Or maybe if you didn’t have a child to raise now, who knows? But in this life, it wasn’t part of the plan.
You said that being around me made you feel like you had to dull yourself. I’m sorry that instead of making you shine, my personality somehow made you dim your light. I guess you needed someone more exciting, someone more outgoing. You needed a golden retriever, when I’ve always been a black cat. I’m sorry that I made you feel like you had to dilute yourself and suppress your personality when with me.
Some of my favorite memories are the simple ones. Like every time you tried to interact with the stray cat who decided to choose my front yard as his new home. 90% of the time he’d give you no reciprocation, and you’d do that eye roll you always do when you’re annoyed. That was my favorite expression of yours. It’s the same one you’d do when I told a stupid joke, or said something dumb, or I was purposely being a dick.
I’d see your eyes light up when I made you a card or gave you a gift, to show you how special I thought you were. You told me your love language was gifts and acts of service, maybe I should have done more of that.
Unfortunately I had a late start in life, and I’m still trying to figure it out. I’m not able to get you all the things you want or take you on trips. The consequences of a failure to launch. It’s no one’s fault but my own. I dont talk about my struggles, my financials, or anything I'm going through. We all know men dont like to show weakness. But I was doing all I could, tried to plan accordingly, I just didnt have the financials to give you anything more.
I wish that i knew when it was you decided I wasn’t the one for you, maybe I would have tried harder or cherished our time together more. I threw out all the photos and letters, deleted all the pics. How were you unhappy when in all the letters and messages you were singing my praises? You looked happy to me. Yet you were apparently looking for an exit the whole time, thats hard to grasp.
There will probably always be a part of me that still loves you, and one of my biggest regrets in life will be that I somehow fumbled you and was not able to keep you in my life. I’ve accepted the fact that just because I love someone, doesn’t mean they are obligated to love me back. And just because from my perspective I was doing everything right and everything I could, I know that you didn’t have to see it that way. I know that you dont have to wait for me to figure my life out. And you arent obligated to teach me how to love better. I just thought thats something you WOULD do.
I hope one day I can look back at this and see the good times without feeling like there’s a knife in my chest. I pray that you find whatever it is you’re looking for. Maybe one day you’ll look back and see I tried my best too, and appreciate all the ways I tried to show you I cared in my own way. A product of my environment I suppose, I didnt grow up with a lot of love being shown. No birthdays, no hugs, no kisses, no feelings. I didnt understand how to do that.
