Likert questionnaire

Help with automatically copying formula onto newly inserted rows of data..

2024.05.12 11:50 Ok_Public_2822 Help with automatically copying formula onto newly inserted rows of data..

Hi, I am collecting Questionnaire responses on GoogleForms for my research. Each new response is auto-added to the linked GoogleSheets as a new row. Each row is an independent observation, and all of the calculations/formulas have to be applied on that specific row only.
I need to:
1) recalculate the reverse-keyed Qs (Likert 1-5) " = (5 + 1) - U2 "
2) Get the Average for each subcomponent consisting of 9 Qs " = Average(I2 : Q2) "
3) Get the Sum of all subcomponents " = Sum(I2 : Q2) "
These Formulas work perfectly until a new row is added on the sheet cuz the formula from the cells above does not automatically copy to the new cell below.
P.S. I have read about the Arrayformula but I just could not find a way to make it work for me... Plz if you can, write the arrayformula including the simple calcs I mentioned above.

2024.05.08 00:26 sims2girl Academic Research Survey for People Who Play The Sims (18+)

Hi all! I am conducting research for my final project (quantitative research for grad school), and I decided to do my study on time spent playing The Sims and productivity levels. The questionnaire is through Google Forms, and there are eight multiple-choice/Likert scale questions that shouldn't take too much time to answer. You just need to be 18+ to answer. You can be a casual player of the game as well. It would mean so much to me if you participated! Huge thanks in advance for your time. :)
Here is the Google Forms questionnaire: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf_44btw22M_NUTAT4AWv2ZWCzb_xeo9vd5xpJSovPg_xxl3w/viewform?usp=sf_link
Happy Simming, everyone!

Review of Related Literature
In recent years, researchers have studied how using the internet a lot can affect us socially and mentally. Quaglio (2019) sheds light on the dark side of excessive internet engagement, particularly on social media platforms. The author underscores a correlation between heightened internet usage loneliness and social isolation. Moreover, Quaglio raises alarms about the detrimental impact of online pornography consumption on intimate relationships, potentially fostering addiction and unhealthy dependencies.
Complementing this perspective, Diomidous (2016) explores internet utilization's social and psychological ramifications. While acknowledging the internet's role in facilitating access to information and communication, Diomidous warns against its perils, especially for younger demographics. Highlighting the potential stagnation of brain development among children due to unrestrained internet exposure, the author underscores the importance of mindful internet usage, particularly in educational contexts.
Contrary to the aforementioned concerns, Griffiths (2022) emphasizes the internet's transformative power in enhancing societal resilience, especially during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic. Griffiths underscores the indispensable nature of internet access for students, advocating for online education as a cornerstone during emergencies. The author anticipates a continued expansion of the internet's significance alongside technological advancements, suggesting a nuanced understanding of its benefits and challenges.
In synthesizing these perspectives, it becomes evident that internet usage encompasses both positive and negative implications for individuals and society. While the internet facilitates connectivity and access to information, its unchecked consumption may exacerbate social isolation, impede cognitive development, and foster dependency. Thus, a balanced approach to internet usage, informed by empirical research and mindful engagement, is imperative to harness its benefits while mitigating its potential harms.
Methodology
This study employed a cross-sectional survey design to explore the internet content consumption patterns and perceptions of Grade 10 students regarding its impact on their overall wellness. Participants were Grade 10 students from Negros Occidental High School using convenience sampling methods, resulting in a total of 50 participants completing the online survey conducted via Google Forms. The survey questionnaire, consisting of eight sections, was carefully crafted to assess various aspects of internet content consumption and its perceived impact on wellness among Grade 10 students, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative measures. Data collection was facilitated through an online survey administered via Google Forms, with the survey link distributed to participants through email and social media platforms. Participants were instructed to independently complete the survey and provide honest responses. Upon accessing the survey link, participants were presented with questions concerning their internet content consumption habits, perceptions of its impact on wellness, and strategies for discerning credibility. They were asked to select multiple-choice responses and rate statements on a Likert scale, with the option to provide open-ended responses for qualitative insights. Quantitative data obtained from the survey underwent descriptive statistics analysis to summarize participants' responses and inferential statistics analysis to examine relationships between variables. Additionally, qualitative data from open-ended responses were subjected to thematic analysis to identify recurring themes and patterns. It is important to acknowledge the potential limitations of this study, including the reliance on self-reported data, the use of convenience sampling, and the possibility of response bias. Additionally, the study's findings may be limited to Grade 10 students in the specified context and may not generalize to broader populations
Results and Discussion
-Engagement with Social Media Content
The prevalence of social media content consumption among respondents highlights the significant role these platforms play in shaping online experiences. Social media's pervasive influence can both enrich and detract from users' well-being, depending on the nature of the content consumed and individual usage habits. While social media can provide a sense of connection and community, excessive exposure to curated lifestyles and filtered realities may contribute to feelings of inadequacy and anxiety.
-Importance of Relaxation and Stress Reduction
The high rating of internet content in helping respondents relax or reduce stress underscores its potential therapeutic value. However, it's crucial to ensure that reliance on online content for stress reduction does not lead to excessive screen time or disengagement from offline activities. Encouraging mindfulness practices and promoting a balanced approach to technology use can help individuals reap the benefits of online content consumption without compromising their overall well-being.
-Recommendations and Peer Influence
The willingness of respondents to recommend internet content to their peers suggests a level of trust and satisfaction with the information consumed. Peer recommendations play a significant role in shaping online consumption patterns, highlighting the importance of fostering critical thinking skills to evaluate the quality and relevance of shared content. By encouraging dialogue and promoting media literacy education, individuals can become more discerning consumers and creators of online content.
-Balancing Consumption with Other Activities
The finding that a majority of respondents do not consciously manage their time spent consuming internet content raises concerns about potential overconsumption and its impact on productivity and well-being. Encouraging mindful consumption habits and setting boundaries around internet usage can promote a healthier balance between online and offline activities. By prioritizing meaningful interactions and activities, individuals can cultivate a more fulfilling and purpose-driven lifestyle.
-Strategies for Discerning Credibility
The reliance on trusted sources and the evaluation of bias or conflicting viewpoints indicate a level of digital literacy among respondents. However, there is room for further education on critical thinking and fact-checking strategies to navigate the vast landscape of online information effectively. By promoting media literacy skills and providing tools for evaluating the credibility of sources, individuals can make informed decisions and resist the spread of misinformation and disinformation online.
-Influence of Personal Values and Interests
The influence of personal values and interests on engagement with internet content highlights the subjective nature of online consumption preferences. Recognizing and respecting individual preferences while promoting diversity and inclusivity in online content can foster a more enriching and empowering online experience. By encouraging diverse perspectives and facilitating meaningful interactions, online communities can become catalysts for positive social change and collective well-being.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the findings suggest a nuanced relationship between internet content consumption and students' well-being, with opportunities for both positive enrichment and potential risks. By understanding the factors influencing online engagement and promoting digital literacy and mindful consumption habits, individuals can harness the benefits of internet information while mitigating its potential drawbacks. Through collaborative efforts among educators, policymakers, and technology companies, we can create a more supportive and inclusive online environment that empowers individuals to thrive in the digital age.
Recommendations
Promoting Digital Literacy
Educational institutions should integrate digital literacy programs into their curriculum to equip students with critical thinking skills and strategies for discerning credible information online. By incorporating digital literacy education from an early age, students can develop the necessary skills to navigate the complexities of the internet landscape effectively. This proactive approach empowers students to make informed decisions about the content they consume, reducing their vulnerability to misinformation and harmful online influences.
Creating Safe Online Spaces
Social media platforms and online communities should prioritize creating safe, inclusive environments that promote positive interactions and well-being. Implementing measures to combat cyberbullying, hate speech, and harmful content is essential to fostering a supportive online environment. Additionally, providing resources for mental health support and digital well-being can help individuals navigate online challenges and seek assistance when needed. By prioritizing user safety and well-being, online platforms can contribute to a more positive and constructive online experience for all users.
Encouraging Mindful Consumption Habits
Students should be encouraged to adopt mindful consumption habits, such as setting limits on screen time, taking regular breaks from digital devices, and engaging in offline activities for balance. Educators and parents play a crucial role in modeling healthy technology use and fostering open discussions about the impact of internet content on well-being. By promoting awareness of the potential risks of excessive internet usage and encouraging self-regulation, students can develop healthy digital habits that prioritize their overall well-being.
Empowering Critical Thinking
Efforts should be made to empower individuals to critically evaluate online information and media sources. This can be achieved through media literacy education, fact-checking initiatives, and promoting awareness of bias and misinformation tactics. By developing a skeptical yet discerning approach to online content, students can become more resilient to manipulation and exploitation. Encouraging active engagement with diverse perspectives and promoting constructive dialogue can further strengthen critical thinking skills and promote a culture of informed decision-making in online spaces.
Collaborative Engagement
Collaboration among stakeholders, including educators, policymakers, technology companies, and community organizations, is essential for addressing the multifaceted challenges of internet usage. By working together to develop evidence-based policies, educational resources, and support systems, we can create a more informed and resilient society that harnesses the full potential of the Internet for positive social change and well-being. By fostering collaboration and collective action, we can build a digital ecosystem that empowers individuals to navigate the internet landscape with confidence and resilience.
In summary, by implementing these recommendations, we can strive towards a digital landscape that promotes responsible online behavior, fosters critical thinking skills, and empowers individuals to navigate the complexities of the internet with confidence and resilience.

2024.05.03 03:28 Kaizen_Kintsgui Ideas for a better SR platform.

I think everyone can admit, Bots, scammers and timewasters are a real problem.
I've got some skills, capital, time and motivation. I believe I can make a better experience. After reading a fair amount of grievances on this forum, I wanted to get some feedback on my ideas and wanted to listen to yours if you would like to share.
Gated flow.
First chat, scheduled video call, MG.
Reputation system
What do you think of a reputation system? Where people are tracked and given a point for following the intro flow. I think this point system could be a good way to root out scammers and bots, as they are unlikely meet through video, let alone a M&G. For the next few years, faking a video call is going to be very expensive. I think this is going to be a good spot to filter out the scammers.
Budget Matching
I really feel people should be upfront with their budgets as that's kind of the number one thing for this site and make it difficult for the salt daddies.
Pace Matching
I think people should be up front with the pace they like to move at to help clarify expectations and make it difficult for rinsers. And frankly, if you don't know your budget and pace, I think you shouldn't be allowed on the site. I think this a good idea to filter for children in adult bodies.
Personality Matching
A big part of sugaring is chemistry. It is pretty easy to build a questionnaire like ok cupid and have that aid in helping people finding matches. I would extend this with kink matching too. As this is a dot product of likert scale questionnaire results, there is no excuse not to do this.
Automatic face blurring
Understandably, people want privacy, it would be pretty easy to build a system that auto blurs faces of uploaded pictures. I have no idea why seeking doesn't have this. Insane.
Public Chat Room
A place for people to discuss the lifestyle and provide feedback for the site.
Stop! It's the AI Police!
LLM's are pretty damn cool and would be excellent tools for identifying scammers, bots and filtering toxic speech. This thing could warn new SB's and SD's of potentially abusive and manipulative behavior. The LLM would provide guidance of how to proceed along best accepted practices and warn members of people before people waste their time. Ideally, I would like to make this a source of revenue on the assholes where the victims of their actions get paid.
Premium Service
Obviously, this needs to be monetized. I was thinking of a LLM virtual dating assistant that filters for you and schedules video calls and MG on your calendar. It would be sick if it handled M&G too and booked a place that both SD and SB would like. This is pie in the sky though.
Filter by 'Type'
Llm's can recognize physical traits in POT's that you like and deliver them on a world scale. As a SD myself, I don't really care where my Sb's are, gives me an excuse to travel and live in a different country.
Looking forward to your feedback.

2024.04.30 11:03 boaber I want to create a table in excel based on a four-point Likert scale survey and quantitative data from a questionnaires with two data points.

Hi everyone, I'm in the final weeks of my Master's thesis and I desperately need some help as I'm an imbecile with excel and I have some quantitative data that I need to analyse and interpret.
I conducted a case study and survey of students (n=89) and teachers (n=32) using a four-point Likert scale to gauge their views on using games in ESL lessons as part of my thesis. I need to analyse and interpret the results, comparing the means of their responses to check for any differences. But I am hopeless at Excel and I feel like I'm having to input everything manually which is taking forever and I only have around two weeks left to finish this. I've also been advised to do a chi-square test and downloaded PSPP, but I don't know if my sheets or data have been inputed in a way that the software will be able to recognise or compute.
Here are a couple of screengrabs that shows how I've inputted the data so far: https://imgur.com/a/BHtzw4W
If anyone can recommend a better way to represent and visualise the results I will be forever grateful and my head will hopefully not explode!
Edit: I'm using Excel 2010 version.

What should I doo if I wanna correlate 3 variables (questionnaires) but has different number of items (all is likert scaled)
Our SOP is asking, is there a relationship between work gossip, work stress and productivity among csr workers?
We hired a statistician and she said we should be using one way anova. Is she right? I mean anova is when you wanna know if theres a significant difference not relationshi, right?

2024.04.24 01:18 TheTechSingularity Non-parametric tatistical test and post hoc for two-way layout with longitudinal data?

I have questions about the approach in statistics that I'm taking for my experiment. However, I do not have a good understanding of statistics, so I opted to add more information than less.
My questions:
  1. Did I choose the right statistical test?
  2. Did I choose the right post-hoc test?
  3. Is my post-hoc plan reasonable?
  4. Should I have set all the pretest scores to zero and the posttest scores to be distance from (the original) pretest scores? I feel safe in assuming that before the treatment, all groups knew the same amount of information about the topic tested.
— — —
I want to find out whether one teaching method is better than another for short-term information retention, as measured by change in questionnaire score from before to after undergoing a teaching method. These are the steps I took:
  1. I formed three groups of participants: A, B, and C (control).
  2. All participants took a Likert scale questionnaire ("pretest") before any treatment.
  3. Group A underwent teaching method A, Group B underwent teaching method B, and Group C sat and did nothing. (All treatments took the same amount of time.)
  4. All participants took the same questionnaire ("posttest").
Also, the sample sizes of these groups are not the same.
From my understanding, the above setup has one between-subjects factor (teaching method) and one within-subjects factor (time). I would have done a mixed ANOVA to check for statistically significant differences, but the samples failed the assumption of homogeneity of variances (Levene's test via pingouin, p-value < 0.05), so I used nparLD instead (link), as it is nonparametric. Its output:
# intervention refers to teaching method # test refers to when the questionnaire was taken Model: F1 LD F1 Model Call: score_sum ~ intervention * test Relative Treatment Effect (RTE): Wald-Type Statistc (WTS): Statistic df p-value intervention 12.59902 2 1.837208e-03 test 58.19597 1 2.372640e-14 intervention:test 53.04024 2 3.037095e-12 ANOVA-Type Statistc (ATS): Statistic df p-value intervention 6.866235 1.913117 1.253029e-03 test 58.195975 1.000000 2.372640e-14 intervention:test 17.873863 1.784542 8.128555e-08 Modified ANOVA-Type Statistic for the Whole-Plot Factors: Statistic df1 df2 p-value intervention 6.866235 1.913117 91.43445 0.001938697
Since the intervention:test p-value < 0.05, I interpreted this as showing a statistically significant difference in scores. To see where the statistical significances are, I will opt for the Games-Howell test, since it is non-parametric. I plan to compare the following:
Lastly, here's a sample of the data:
id intervention test score_sum 331 A pretest -11 331 A posttest -14 398 A pretest -12 398 A posttest -7 422 B posttest 9 422 B pretest 12 447 B posttest -17 447 B pretest -18 765 C pretest -6 765 C posttest -22 864 C pretest 7 864 C posttest -11

2024.04.23 15:54 EconomicsThat8184 Which Test for a Multiple Variable Likert Scale Questionnaire Data

Hello,
I am a bit confused about ho to do this. This is a bit convoluted so please bear with me.
I have a data set that I acquired through running a questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of participants having to rate 80 different phrases using a 5-point Likert scale; ranging from Strongly disagree to Strongly agree). I had a second group where they answered the same style of questionnaire rating 90 different phrases along the same likert scale. Now I want to see if gender has an effect on how they rated the phrases. Should I use a MANOVA? I am a bit stumped on how to approach this because of the sheer amount of phrases rated. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

2024.04.23 02:57 Natural-River8187 Question Using Linear Mixed Model in R - appropriate setup and understanding the warnings

Hi everyone,
Would like to preface that I am not a researcher but an analyst and have been encouraged to work on a paper to publish results from one of our quality improvement projects. I would appreciate some guidance around how I've setup my LME model.
Context: We have supported 10 health clinics to implement new work processes where they are working as teams. There are 3-4 staff per clinic. Over the course of the project, we collected data on providers' job satisfaction at 3 different time points (total n=90). We picked a questionnaire that measures constructs such as workload, burnout, time spent documenting, work-life balance, etc. All questions are on a 5 point Likert scale (ordinal). We'd like to see how these new processes affected providers across the sites, different roles, and different constructs. I landed on using Linear Mixed Model.
Method:
I've run the tests and have received several of the error:
boundary (singular) fit: see help('isSingular')
Is this the result of having relatively low N? How might I address this? Is there with how I've setup the model based on my research question?
Current snippet of the LME code:
for (var in response_vars) { model <- lmer(as.formula(paste(var, "~ time + (1 site) + (1 role)")), data = my_data) refit_model <- refit(model) cat("Summary of model for response variable:", var, "\n") print(summary(refit_model)) cat("\n\n") }

2024.04.22 07:13 ccyuricakes Quantitative research: What non-parametric statistical analysis should we use?

We are conducting a study that wants to find out if there is a significant relationship between demographical factors (Marital status, Socioeconomic status, Age, Gender,) and parental burnout among parents with children who have psychosocial disabilities and which among these demographics have the most significant relationship with parental burnout.
We were originally supposed to use multiple regression, but we have few participants and non-normally distributed answers among them. Our professor suggested the use of non-parametric analysis techniques instead. What would be appropriate?
We are using a Likert-scale type questionnaire to measure burnout.
Also a little disclaimer: I have no expertise in statistics whatsoever so I may not understand some terms or concepts unless they are said to me like a 10 year old lmao.

2024.04.21 21:18 mrniceface Looking for Likert Scale with political statements, needs to be from academic article

Anyone know where I could find a Likert Scale survey for a range of political statements backed by an academic article? I can't find one no matter how hard I look on EBSCO, and I really need one for my RM project. Anything I add to the project needs to be backed by an academic article, so I need to find one with a Likert Scale type questionnaire with a bunch of political statements like "We should pursue nuclear energy over other green energy sources" or "Abortion is immoral", stuff like that.
Edit: Ended up finding something I could use instead. The Social and Economic Conservatism Scale (SECS). Citation:
