So I am beyond emotion right now so long story short - my girlfriend and I met awkwardly but nothing terrible but when we met, I said I had a crush on a friend.
2 weeks later, my now girlfriend and I meet up as friends, I say how I was wrong about having a crush on the 'friend' and was just messed up in my head.
My girlfriend and i get together and within 3 weeks, she's gone through my facebook, twitter, reddit, instagram, whatsapp on my phone and because I liked a couple of inappropriate sexual jokes and followed a fair amount of women on instagram she just went off.
What followed was 2 years of abuse - verbal, emotional, physical. I ended up putting my head in a urinal because in one arguement, she convinced me I was a pedophile for following a 19 year old actor from a show I loved. I slashed my arm open leaving a big scar which I had to lie to everyone about. I've burst vessels in my eyes from crying so hard and admittedly have gotten a small big physical in defence of myself now. I hit her in the leg when she was kicking me and broke a few things in our home.
She has spent the last 2 months in bed recovering from a very bad illness and in that time, we've gone the longest we ever have without arguing or anything. It's been nice - cut to every fear, insecurity, issue I've had in our relationship which I've never been able to address due to her 'issues' taking priority
I hacked her. A lot. I read and read and read and finally learned how and hacked her, I have found out she actively wanted to fuck her landlord at time of meeting me. Talked about loving her arse being played with after accusing me of being non-consensual with her because I accidentally touched her bumhole once. Told me her body count (25) which I never gave a shit about, was so high due to her having a validation issue due to abuse when a kid - messages all her friends like "Made 24 last night" "Got to 25 last night" "I just love going out and fucking randoms right now". For 3 years has made me to be the creepy guy who wants any girl yet did nothing but talk to her friends about porn, sex, 'lesbian scenes' in films after accusing me of having a lesbian fetish. Being hyper sexual, super-thirsty with people yet has NEVER even made an effort with me. She went into great depth about not being able to satisfy an ex despite how much he did for her.
She has been on top of me once, given me head once, yet these guys she wanted to ride them, make them cum...
I spent these 2 months working on myself and my issues with her while I had some peace and now I just feel physically sick. I love her but the person I'm with isn't her, or at least doesn't feel like it. She didn't change overnight from all of the above to the woke, 'men are pigs who look at any woman', just perfect icon of wholesome innocent woman she portrayed.

I saw a video on tiktok the other day about IHNMAIMS and the premise was that bad people write better villains, and given AM is considered one of the worst villains in literature, Harlan Ellison must be pretty bad (I may be reciting it wrong, and I'm not too familiar with Harlan Ellison yet so I don't know if he is considered a bad person or not). I just wanted to start a conversation to see what people's opinions on this were.
Personally, I don't think bad people write any better villains than good people. I don't think it's that simple (I also think that good and bad are wholly subjective and contextual terms, but when I say good and bad in this post, I'm referring to an objective good and bad). I commented that objectively good people can have bad thoughts, but bad people act upon them. Being able to imagine something such as AM says no more about the author than it does about those who can analyse and understand (and even resonate) with what AM is and the things that he does. I have reasonable experience with training and owning dogs. So I(19f) got very suspicious when mom was chatting with someone and I crept behind her. She was chatting with someone and most of the messages were deleted. She closed off everything frantically when she realized I'm behind her. I was super suspicious. After a while I asked her for her phone and noticed all the chats from that contact were deleted. She then later on proceeded to delete a lot of chats with her other friend which honestly felt like a cover up. I ask my mom for her phone to play games and she hesitated a bit. I noticed her chatting with that number multiple times. I had a suspicion about who could it be and I checked the contact number on a verification app. My suspicion turned out to be true. I was still a bit not sure so just now I went through the recycle bin of her gallery and found weird cheesy good morning text images and also a photo of the person(the photo was a casual photo of him working on his desk). All of this happened in a day. I don't know what to do. We are also on a vacation currently. We'll return home tomorrow.

Lots of lore included, but theres also a TL;DR 😂 I have been friends with this person for several years now. I have been slowly trying to distance myself for them, but recently find it necessary to put an actual end to our friendship. Their passive aggression & self centeredness has been a problem for the entirety of our friendship. I feel as though we have all had those “friends” that make us feel as though we are walking on eggshells, or only talk about themselves and when you are able to get a word in edgewise, they bring the conversation back to themselves. I have tried to address their passive aggression in the past, attempting to dig deeper and open a line of honest/safe communication when they have clearly been upset about something. They essentially were unreceptive and blew me off. Honestly, due to their unhealthy communication habits, I’ve been hesitant to even broach the conversation of their tendency to dominate the conversation and not be curious about me or my life. When they talk about previous friendships that have ended, it’s because the friends had the same issues I’m currently grappling with. When they retell these happenings, they seem as though they aren’t practicing introspection and throw the blame on the other party. This further affirms my belief that trying to communicate these problems would be futile. There’s been a string of events recently that helped me realize this friendship is no longer worth repairing. I have known this friend for YEARS and I’m very familiar with the ins and outs of their life. A couple months ago, they asked me if my partner was in construction. They are in insurance 😂 I have been with them since BEFORE our friendship, and have always shared their careers wins and woes with them. It’s baffling they would forget something like that. About a week ago, they sent me a text that verbatim said “Omg. Wasn’t your old best friend that fucked you over ____ ? They’re married to one of my work besties and they were stranded off a highway so I picked them up. Wtf I like them??? What happened with you guys I can’t remember!!!” My relationship with the person they are referencing was extremely hurtful to me. I learned a lot about myself and friendships in general from that wound. We were both mutually toxic to each other. This incident was a major event in my life, as it inspired me to “do the work” both for myself, and others. The whole reason I met my friend is because I was putting myself out there after what I had experienced, so I know I have discussed this event with them at length. Most recently, this passive aggression and vindication is affecting my family. Their job includes interacting with the public, and they have taken it upon themselves to be extremely petty and unkind to a family member of mine because of an interaction that left them with a sour taste in their mouth. These series of events have assured me that severing ties with this friend is the best route for everyone involved. I expect them to try and contact me soon, as my family member filed a report against them. This is the response I have preemptively crafted: “At this point, I feel like it is in mine and my family’s best interest that we go our separate ways. There has been communication issues burdening our friendship for a long time now, and I don’t foresee them being resolved. I don’t wish you ill, and I hope you can pay the same consideration to me and my loved ones. “ I feel that they will most likely want to continue the conversation. My question is, would it be hurtful of me to not respond? I feel as though a “post mortem” of our friendship would not only open old wounds, but foster resentment for both of us. I do not feel as though it will truly benefit either of us to continue the conversation further afterwards, but I am wanting to hear other points of view before committing to this decision. I definitely do expect them to respond, as they have every right and reason to. I just want to know if it would be shitty of me to not offer further insight into my feelings/decision if that’s what they’re wanting?

I just joined Reddit and after a while of trying to figure out my Attitudinal Psyche type for fun—as well as for deeper self-insight and personal growth—I’ve come to realize that my AP type is FLEV (and same goes for Psychosophy).
But I have to say, it really feels surprisingly satisfying to figure out which AP type truly represents me. I kept mistyping as so many other types, and I just couldn’t fathom why I didn’t identify with the descriptions and placements. I kept consulting many other people online about this and my mind ended up getting all tangled while trying to crack the code, so to speak!
I guess I could write an essay’s worth of tidbits about the process I went through to arrive at my AP type, but I have a habit of talking for too long about all my ideas and personal discoveries, so I’ll leave the topic alone. Lol.

We’re arguing valid points and then she says “The part of the brain that is responsible for good decisions doesn’t stop developing until 21.” That pissed me the fuck off because up until that point we were having a mature conversation and now she pulls that invalidating and condescending card.
She asks why I seem upset, and I tell her. Then she asks why “telling the truth” is condescending and invalidating.
I explained it wasn’t the words she said, but the way she said them and the placement. I shouldn’t have to explain this to a grown woman but you know that’s my mom.
What is y’all’s opinion? Am I overreacting and the asshole or was she invalidating and the asshole?

Both of us get along great with the people there and it's fun to meet up and talk shop.
I love my wife, and sometimes I'll say positive things about her and then random folks will blurt out, "yeah, your wife is great, if you weren't married to her, I'd date her!" or similar.
I didn't really think about it much in retrospect, but after it came up from several different folks multiple times, I was thinking, "is this a polite or reasonable thing to say to someone?"
We've been married for years, our relationship is stable, we have two dogs and a home together, relationship with her and my family is good, etc. I'm stating this so y'all don't go down a dark path trying to guess some dark truth of our relationship. We're normal, boring nerds, who love each other.
How would you folks respond to these comments? Is it something you ignore? Do you tactfully ask them not to? Point out that it's kind of odd and change topics?

I had a friend that I hung out with a year ago. We related to a lot of our mental health issues and he was such an authentic person. I have strong isolating tendencies and I started isolating from him. A few months after I ghosted him, he died. He was hit by a train, so his death wasn’t easy.
That happened 8 months ago and today I saw his instagram account and clicked it to relink with him. His whole page was his mom posting things like “RIP”. I looked his name up in my local news and the first story was how he was hit by a metrolink train.
8 months went by without me knowing he was dead. About a year went by since we talked. I scroll through our old messages and can see how I started pushing him away. My intentions weren’t bad. I am bipolar and things get messy, so I push people away before I ruin our friendship and I wanted to reapproach our friendship once I got better.
I got better and now he’s gone. I scroll through our texts and I feel heartbroken and disgusted with myself. He texted me how he missed me, kept asking when we’d hang out and all my texts went from making excuses to flat out ghosting. I know deep down I never meant anything bad, but I can’t help but feel disgusted by what happened.
He wanted to hang out. He wanted me as a friend. He didn’t have many people who related to or understood him, but I did and he made that clear. I didn’t go to his funeral, memorial, or anything. I had no clue he died. How do I make things right within myself so that I can move forward in my own life? Hi Ladies, I need advice. I'm planning on leaving a review and reporting him to the Texas Medical Board but I feel like I'm going crazy and don't feel justified in reporting. I'd like to hear what y'all think (TLDR at bottom)
2 days ago I noticed what looked like a boil or cyst on my right labia. Yesterday this boil started to grow and become very irritated making it hard to sit down and hurt to walk around. I checked google and started putting a warm compress on it throughout the day to get it to drain naturally but knew I would probably need to get antibiotics to keep from infection. The boil (now know it was a cyst) was about 1cm big, pea-edamame sized and looked like it was possibly infected, hence the urgent care trip, and very red and inflamed. Wanted to be safe rather than sorry and decided it was better to go get antibiotics and start them that night just in case it started draining. It was pretty late at night and there was only 1 urgent care open, which was not the urgent care I typically went to.
Get to the urgent care, fill out the papers. Receptionist sees my paperwork and lets me know they only have a male doctor, and if that would be ok. Male doctors doing my exams in sensitive areas wasn't my favorite thing. Had some good experiences, had some bad. I said it was fine, since I assumed he was just going to examine if it looked infected and maybe prescribe some antibiotics. Wait for a bit in the waiting room then the nurse pulls me back for vitals. She was extremely sweet, talked about her bartholin's cyst and how it sounded like that could possibly be my problem. She told me to get undressed from the waist down, gave me a cover up, and she let me know she would be in the room with me while the doctor took a look.
Doctor comes into the room. It was an older man in his 70's or 80's. He did not introduce himself, he did not ask me what I was in for. I said hello, tried to start talking about my problem and he interrupts me with just a "show me it.". Rude and weird as we haven't even had a conversation yet but whatever, it's late at night.
I get on my back, there were no sternups or anything so I kind of awkwardly had my legs frog style. He immediately began touching the area- which was very red and tender and painful without a single word. Not a huge fan of that. My gyno's and dr's have always told me what they were about to do, especially when touching in or around my vagina. I asked him to tell me if it looked infected, if I could just let it drain and if I would need antibiotics (been super anxious about sepsis recently which was the biggest factor for coming in). He mentions that it looked like it may have started draining and then asked the nurse to grab him a paper towel.
Suddenly I felt a huge stinging pain on the area where the cyst was. Enough to make me yelp in pain and scoot back from him. He was popping my cyst. Popping it! No lancing, no gentle squeezing, no pain relief, NOTHING! He hadn't even wiped the area before popping a cyst, possibly making it more infected if it wasn't already. After the first wave of pain, nearly passing out he kept squeezing very hard I said "that hurts really bad can you stop?" and he did not stop. He squeezed again, and I yelped again and said "I'm serious I haven't had any ibuprofen or anything this hurts so bad please stop". Still no words spoken to me at this point. I was pissed, and in a lot of pain. I had wanted it to drain naturally because I didn't want to risk any extra scarring even with a cut or lance, but I will get even worse scarring from this doctor popping it! He took the paper towel and kept wiping and I winced in pain and told him to seriously stop touching it. He finally backed off, and waddled over to his clipboard all without saying a single word to me. The female nurse was in the room, silent this entire time- mind you.
He finally spoke up to ask me how much I weighed and if I was allergic to any medications because now that it's ruptured I needed to be on antibiotics immediately so I don't get infected. I couldn't believe what had just happened. He had not asked me if I wanted it "drained" if you could even call it that. He had not talked to me about what he was going to do. And if he had listened to me as he waddled over, he would have heard me say that I've been doing warm compresses to get it to drain naturally. I had to ask the female nurse for a panty liner so that I wasn't (TMI) leaking puss and blood all over my panties while I waited 45 minutes at a CVS to start my antibiotics. He left the room, without sharing any aftercare, without asking me if I had any questions. Nothing, just left. I just have this big gaping wound on my labia that I guess I'm just trying to keep clean and not pee on?
I have gotten cysts drained before at doctors offices, by the way. Cysts on my vaginal opening and urethral opening have been drained at gyno appointments. They are supposed to give you some kind of local numbing and it is done on request with either a lance or a cut. They certainly didn't squeeze-pop them without consent and they were explaining everything they were doing, before doing it. And the most important thing was when the pain was bad and I said "break" or "stop" and they would stop.
I left the clinic feeling violated. I'm upset that this cyst is going to scar more because he ruptured it without a care in the world. I had not asked him to drain my cyst on any kind of paperwork. I am upset he had not asked for any kind of consent before doing it. I was not there on request of a cyst draining. I had requested an exam to check for infection and to possibly get antibiotics.
I will be following up with my primary care physician, just to check for damage and proper aftercare instructions. I am planning on leaving a review on the clinics google page, which I found also had a few 1 star reviews about "the older gentleman" that took care of them. I want to also report to the medical board, but I have no strong evidence against him. I am a SA victim, and I'm already very uncomfortable with people touching me in that area. And I feel like he scarred me without my consent.
Any and all advice or support is greatly needed right now <3

Male doctor refused to speak to me, and squeeze-popped my cyst without talking to me, without consent, without pain relief and refused to stop squeezing after I had asked him to stop, twice. My risk of infection is higher, and the area is going to scar. Left me no aftercare instructions. Gave me antibiotic prescription. This was a *non-emergency* urgent care trip.

Here is a brief outline on how to loose weight in a way that is sustainable, gets you long term results, and doesn’t make you miserable.
Before starting, here’s a few things to consider.
1) It doesn’t matter if you’re fit for 5 years, and unfit for 50. Weight management is a lifelong skill, you don’t just loose weight and that’s it, you want to manipulate your body to make you feel good over your short and miserable life ;) (I’m joking)
2) Weight loss is not complicated, in order to loose weight, you have to consume less calories then you burn.
3) Weight loss is not the hardest thing in the world. With a few tips that I will outline at the end of this post, it will make it 10 times easier to stick to a diet (yes this sounds crazy, but just listen)
Ok, so how do you loose weight? Here it goes…
There are two ways. The first one being the counting of calories way, and the second is more of an educated guessing game. I’ll talk about both, as the process is a bit different, with the latter being the inferior way (generally speaking, it’s not as easy on the motivation front, and might require more discipline)
Calorie counting way:
1) Go to google and look for a calorie calculator, enter your details and you will get a number. This calculator is not 100% accurate, but gives you a ballpark number.
2) Figure out how fast you want to loose weight. If you have been trying to loose weight for a while, but gain it all back, then consider loosing weight slowly (at a 300 calorie deficit) if not then it is up to you, you can start at a more aggressive diet (500 calorie deficit) for the first week, and if you feel like it’s draining on you, then eat at maintenance for a few days (3-7 days) and start dieting slowly again at a 300 calorie deficit.
Generally speaking: 300 calorie deficit = 0.3-0.5kg loss per week 500 calorie deficit = 0.5-0.7kg loss per week
It really depends on your body
Here is the juicy part that makes weight loss much easier, tips and tricks!
1) Eat a lot more protein. Protein helps you retain muscle whilst loosing weight, even if you don’t exercise. A good number to aim for is 1 gram of protein per lb of body weight. Less if your trying to gain weight (for my body builders reading this)
2) Eat foods that are satiating, Foods have different satiety levels, 200 calories of chicken will make you feel a heck of lot fuller then 400 calories of m&ms. Eat lean cuts of meat, white fish, egg whites, complex carbs, fruites, and veggies to make you feel full. Also opt for calorie friendly options of popular foods and drinks such as sodas, ketchup, ice cream, etc.
If you don’t believe me, try eating 1,000 calories of home cooked chicken without oil or sauces, and boiled potato. And then try eating 1,000 calories in McDonald’s. Your gonna feel like you just ate at a buffet after the chicken and potato, and your gonna crave more food and feel hungry after the McDonald’s.
3) Exercise, don’t do it. Let me explain, if you do intense cardio, you’re gonna be feeling a lot more tired, and wanting/craving food, your most likely better of siting on the couch all day and saying no to the 200 calorie snickers bar that you would have burned off doing 30 min of cardio.
Here’s what you do, you either don’t do it at all and try to get 10k steps per day, or you do something that you enjoy. This can be body building, calisthenics, or any sport that doesn’t feel like a chore. Playing football for an 1 hour is a lot easier then running on the treadmill for 30 minutes.
4) Leave space for snacks, eating 2,000 calories of ice cream vs 2,000 calories of salad will have the same result on your weight. Eliminating snacks will make you crave them, and eventually you will give in and binge. Leave a portion of your calories for a snack of your choice every day (I’d recommend 300 calories, but I love my snacks so I do a bit more)
5) Don’t take your day to day scale number personally, one day you could loose fat, but appear heavier on the scale because your body decided to retain more water that day. If you notice that on average the scale shows less on a weekly basis, you’re on the right track.
Non calorie counting way:
1) Eat at places that count calories for you, and take note of how much you ate. Eat at subway, chipotle, or other places that count calories. (Always ask for more protein, and go easy on the fats and carbs)
2) If you can’t, then when eating out, avoid sugary drinks, desserts, sauces, and tell whoever is taking your order to cook without oil or butter. Eat un-processed foods that are satiating such as steak with roasted potato’s.
3) You have to learn intuitive eating, avoid processed foods that make you crave more, stick to high quality food that make you feel satiated, and eat slowly. When you start feeling full, put the fork down and wait for 5 minutes. If you’re still hungry then continue eating slowly, if not then that’s it.
This was a pretty short guide, but I hope it has helped some of you.

Here is the juicy part that makes weight loss much easier, tips and tricks!
1) Eat a lot more protein. Protein helps you retain muscle whilst loosing weight, even if you don’t exercise. A good number to aim for is 1 gram of protein per lb of body weight. Less if your trying to gain weight (for my body builders reading this)
2) Eat foods that are satiating, Foods have different satiety levels, 200 calories of chicken will make you feel a heck of lot fuller then 400 calories of m&ms. Eat lean cuts of meat, white fish, egg whites, complex carbs, fruites, and veggies to make you feel full. Also opt for calorie friendly options of popular foods and drinks such as sodas, ketchup, ice cream, etc.
If you don’t believe me, try eating 1,000 calories of home cooked chicken without oil or sauces, and boiled potato. And then try eating 1,000 calories in McDonald’s. Your gonna feel like you just ate at a buffet after the chicken and potato, and your gonna crave more food and feel hungry after the McDonald’s.
3) Exercise, don’t do it. Let me explain, if you do intense cardio, you’re gonna be feeling a lot more tired, and wanting/craving food, your most likely better of siting on the couch all day and saying no to the 200 calorie snickers bar that you would have burned off doing 30 min of cardio.
Here’s what you do, you either don’t do it at all and try to get 10k steps per day, or you do something that you enjoy. This can be body building, calisthenics, or any sport that doesn’t feel like a chore. Playing football for an 1 hour is a lot easier then running on the treadmill for 30 minutes.
4) Leave space for snacks, eating 2,000 calories of ice cream vs 2,000 calories of salad will have the same result on your weight. Eliminating snacks will make you crave them, and eventually you will give in and binge. Leave a portion of your calories for a snack of your choice every day (I’d recommend 300 calories, but I love my snacks so I do a bit more)
5) Don’t take your day to day scale number personally, one day you could loose fat, but appear heavier on the scale because your body decided to retain more water that day. If you notice that on average the scale shows less on a weekly basis, you’re on the right track.
Non calorie counting way:
1) Eat at places that count calories for you, and take note of how much you ate. Eat at subway, chipotle, or other places that count calories. (Always ask for more protein, and go easy on the fats and carbs)
2) If you can’t, then when eating out, avoid sugary drinks, desserts, sauces, and tell whoever is taking your order to cook without oil or butter. Eat un-processed foods that are satiating such as steak with roasted potato’s.
3) You have to learn intuitive eating, avoid processed foods that make you crave more, stick to high quality food that make you feel satiated, and eat slowly. When you start feeling full, put the fork down and wait for 5 minutes. If you’re still hungry then continue eating slowly, if not then that’s it.

I've (18f) put off coming out to my family for 3 years now, my mum knows but we're on really awkward terms about it, shes not unsupportive its just that i've made it really awkward between us. But my dad and my brother don't know.
I think part of it is being scared to have to sit down and say it all in a conversation, it would just be so awkward and id be too embarrased to do it. Being at uni, the way i came out was more gradual, i slowly started presenting more femme to face my fear of being judged (think like exposure therapy) until finally i gave up caring what others thought and it really took off from there, i've never been happier. But at home its a different matter.
Let me tell you a bit about each of my family:
My mum, she is supportive of me and is currently the only one in my family ive told. as i've said i told her 2 years ago but i did it in the complete wrong way lol, she hasnt seen me be feminine once in person (but she knows i am when shes not around), the only bits shes seen of it is are long discussions, normally me ranting about the political shitstorm surrounding us. So its quite awkward as ive only really got stressed about it around her, she knows i am embarrassed about it, and i know she knows, and its a bit of a crazy subject lol.
My dads not necessarily unsupportive but he definitely believes in the "woke snowflakes" narrative, he's said some things like "a man cant become a woman" and has spoken about "gender ideology" but i'm putting it down to being misinformed. he suspects im gay but thats as far as it goes. He'd get over it eventually but it would be a bit mental at first and would take him.... a while for us to not cringe up every time we see each other lol.
My brother, he's younger than me and i imagine the initial reaction would be like raised eyebrows and a giggle, but then he will actually turn out to be the most supportive of me.
Overall i have a very loving family and as it goes im probably one of the luckiest. But that doesnt mean its not shit scary for me to come out.
I was just wondering whether anyone has experience of coming out in the way i described., not all at once but sort of gradually being less and less subtle until someone brings it up. Would this work, in your opinion?
